STRÖM Release Their Self-Titled Debut Album!

One of this autumn's most anticipated Swedish rock 'n' roll records has arrived!

From the infectious opener “Tiden sjunger” to the closing heaviness of “Blodsband” this album really packs a punch, perhaps most notable in stand-out tracks such as the groovy “Vass tunga”, up-tempo rocker “Ta mig tillbaks” or the anthemic “Hatet”.

About STRÖM

If you know your rock’n’roll encyclopedia well enough you can easily map out from where this band cherry-picked their influences – such as for example The Darkness, Airbourne, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, or the way that Kiss sounded in the mid-to-late 80’s. And then we still haven’t mentioned any of the fellow Swedish compatriots (such as Hardcore Superstar, Pugh Rogefeldt, Magnus Uggla, Noice), neither have we referenced any Danish counterparts (D-A-D, Pretty Maids), or Norwegian for that matter (Turbonegro et al).

Here’s the catch though: Instead of sounding like any of all those acts in particular, STRÖM kind of sounds like all at the same time. All mixed into one giant concoction of honest, accurate, straight-forward, no-bullcrap, balls-to-the-wall, good-timin’ rock’n’roll.

Zdravko Zizmond (vocals), Calle Sjöquist (guitars), Johan Siljedahl (guitars), Joel Carnstam (bass) and Tomas Salonen (drums) have been playing together under the STRÖM banner for less than three years, but the debut album they’re putting out is a work of excellence.

When encountering a rock’n’roll band like the 5-headed powerhouse of STRÖM, you will never be able to escape the feeling that there’s a “before” and an “after”. "The reason we picked 'Shipwrecked & Northbound' is because most of our listeners haven't heard our first EP 'The Void: Stories From the Whispering Well'. It was a time of experimentation and getting to know each other's styles. We picked this song specifically because it had fragments of that sound that we wanted to pursue. That sound led to the creation of Ghostlands. Now - years later we decided to re-make it with the knowledge, possibilities, and skills we lacked back then. It's a homage to the old and new.

Swedish heavy metal outfit Perpetual Etude have released their debut studio album, 'Now is the Time'! The album is out today via Black Lodge Records.

Perpetual Etude was formed in 2019 by Magnus Mild with the sole goal to bring back the best of heavy metal from the '80s. Influenced by the genre when growing up, Magnus teamed up with members from NorthTale, ex-members from Dionysys, Nation, Shadowquest, as well as Göran Edman on “Sail Away” to complete the vision. The result is the best of a whole decade in the astounding debut 'Now Is The Time', an album filled with blazing guitar riffs, keyboard solos, and catchy choruses.

Ambient Nordic Folk Project URFERD Signs with Black Lodge Records - Debut Album Coming In 2022!

A concept waiting years to emerge, URFERD officially saw the light of day in late 2020.

The first album, 'RESAN', will be released on Black Lodge Records in 2022, and is a musical odyssey in both a literal and figurative sense. The album takes the listener on a journey through dark and olden nordic forests; where strife and hardships follow in our steps, yet where the beauty and vastness of the solemn nordic landscape persists and permeates. From the album opening’s depiction of a serene morning’s dawn, to the closing track’s respite of a hearth at nightfall, RESAN traverses a multitude of captivating musical landscapes and themes throughout its eight songs. URFERD signifies the beginning of a new and additional musical chapter for its founder and sole member, Daniel Beckman (TWILIGHT FORCE, AGES), and brings a refreshing new perspective to the genre, challenging the boundaries of dark atmospheric folk music.
