Atlanta, GA sextet The Callous Daoboys cordially invites you to The Museum of Failure, a sonic exploration of the band's newly announced album 'I Don't Want to See You in Heaven', with a grand opening date of May 16 (via MNRK Heavy).'I Don't Want to See You in Heaven' is the follow-up to the band's 2022 critically acclaimed full-length 'Celebrity Therapist' and 2023 EP 'God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys', nominated for 'Best Heavy Record' in the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) Libera Awards 2024. In their most personal album yet, listeners are welcomed 300 years into the future to such a place where mankind's farcical attempts at immortalizing greatness are on full display, including each of the 13 tracks on the album. However, such artifacts beg the question whether these were simply ahead of their time, or rightfully discarded by patrons?

Today's glimpse inside reveals the first exhibit, "Two-Headed Trout/The Demon of Unreality Limping Like A Dog", along with the official cinematic music video. When asked about the inspiration behind the forthcoming album, vocalist Carson Pace shared:

“The album is an artifact that’s been preserved, and hundreds of years in the future, you’re listening to this album in the museum. It’s a known failure, but the narrative is ‘if it survives forever, is it truly a failure?'

“Everything is very singular and personal. I’m not making an album commenting on anything societal or political this time, this is an album just for me. It’s every emotion I’ve felt and sobering thought since 2021. I can only make this album now, not in three years when I’m thirty, not ten years ago when I was seventeen. This is the snapshot of 24-27. A scrapbook of trial and error, or better yet, a Museum of Failure.”

“We would like to proudly present our first preview of the 'I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven' collection, ahead of its full release. The Plot In You Release New Live Video For "Been Here Before" (via Fearless Records)

After wrapping up a momentous 2024 with a sold-out US headlining run and sold-out shows in Latin America, The Plot In You are kicking off the new year with a live performance video of their track "Been Here Before" (via Fearless Records). The video comes two weeks before their North American headliner beginning on Valentine's Day in Royal Oak, Michigan, with Holding Absence, Boundaries and ACRES as support. Speaking about today's news, vocalist Landon Tewers shared:

"We’re thrilled to be heading out on tour this winter with our friends Holding Absence, Boundaries, and ACRES. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the live video for our track "Been Here Before". Today's release is the featured ending theme song for the new anime series 'Momentarily Lily' streaming now on Crunchyroll, with an official music video coming soon. Speaking about the track, vocalist Yukina commented:

"This is our very first tie-in with an anime, and we wrote this track specifically for it! The song reflects the world and characters of Momentary Lily while also capturing the essence of our band life. In celebration of the release, Weathers has dropped their new, original song from the soundtrack "Killer", produced and co-written by Max Urasky (Maggie Lindemann, Siiickbrain) and No Love For the Middle Child (Travis Barker, Grandson), co-produced and mixed by Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, Pantera). In celebration of the release, the genre-blending quartet has dropped the official lyric video for "B.O.G.". Speaking about today's news, the band shares:

VOLA Release New Track "Cannibal" featuring Anders Fridén of In Flames (via Mascot Records)

Today, VOLA revealed their pulverizing new single, "Cannibal," which features In Flames’ Anders Fridén on vocals. The song is taken from their upcoming album, 'Friend Of A Phantom,' which will be released on November 1 via Mascot Records. Talking about the song, the band says, "VOLA's music is heavily shaped by melodic death metal, so having Anders Fridén from the legendary In Flames featured on 'Cannibal' is a dream come true for us. We feel truly fortunate and are enormously proud of the result."

Anders Fridén explains how he got involved with the song, saying, "I have been a fan of VOLA since their first album. They are constantly evolving and, to me, are one of the most interesting bands out right now." He continues, "During the recording of our last album, I had the opportunity to meet the band and witness an incredible show at The Troubadour in LA. Cut to a few months later, I was approached if I would be interested in being on a song for their next album. It was a yes without hesitation. It's an honor to be part of this monster of a song. Bang your head if you know what's good for you!"

VOLA elaborated on how the collaboration and song came about: "When we toured North America in the fall of 2023, Anders and Björnfrom In Flames attended our concert at The Troubadour in Los Angeles. They came backstage before the show to chat with us, and it turned out they were big fans of the band. Quite a surreal experience, given that In Flames have played a huge part in forming our musical DNA. When we came home from the tour, we dug deep into recording 'Friend Of A Phantom', and during that process, we began discussing whether "Cannibal" would benefit from having guest vocals. We all agreed that having some really powerful screams in there would elevate the song, and having just created a bond with Anders meant that it was the easiest decision in the world to ask him if he wanted to be a part of the track. Anders quickly said yes to participate, and eventually, he both recorded vocals and came to Denmark to shoot the video with us. We were thrilled, to say the least!"

The song marries the euphoric and epic but complex and crushing sound that has become distinctively VOLA with a visually stunning video to accompany the song. "Working with Vertigo and Riivata Visuals on the music video was incredible,” they add. “We filmed the video in a gigantic hall in Denmark, with plenty of big lights and lasers, including a large triangle light at the back of the hall. To top it all off, Anders came to Denmark to join us and be part of the video. It was a fantastic experience, and the footage captured the heavy side of VOLA in its essence."

They have already released three singles from the album. "Paper Wolf" sees an old-school metal atmosphere creep into their blend of sounds. "Break My Lying Tongue" offers a deep dive into themes of misalignment and emotional vulnerability, whereas the most recent single, “I Don't Know How We Got Here”, interweaves stories about tragic events in society with a story about a relationship slowly dying out. "It seeks to portray the feeling of disbelief that follows when something valuable vanishes right in front of us," explains Asger Mygind.

It has been three years since the release of VOLA's defining album, 'Witness.' They've since wrapped up two tours of the US with several venues upgraded due to overwhelming demand, as well as sold-out shows in New York, L.A., and Chicago. Their first tour of Canada resulted in sold-out shows in Toronto and Montreal, and they rounded off the continent with triumphant South American shows in Mexico, Brazil, and a sold-out show in Chile. Drawing their name from the infamous Plainfield Ghoul, Ed Gein, Bodysnatcher know a thing or two about darkness, brutality and aggression. Since their 2014 inception in Melbourne, Florida, Bodysnatcher have been bringing nothing but the finest in furious, extreme music. The band’s debut full-length that followed, Death of Me (Stay Sick Records), saw the band mature from their modest downtempo roots into something more diverse and devastating, incorporating a blend of contemporary metal and hardcore elements to create something that saw Bodysnatcher start to blur conventional genre lines. Death of Me would skyrocket the band’s notoriety even higher, including a headlining west coast tour with Extortionist (Unique Leader Records) in support. Almost immediately after the release of Death of Me, Bodysnatcher underwent a significant lineup change, bringing aboard Chris Whited (King Conquer, 1776 Recordings) as percussionist and producer alongside Kyle Carter (Beacons) and Kyle Shope (Float Face Down) on guitar and bass respectively. With all three of them working alongside the titanic range and unmistakable vitriol of frontman Kyle Medina as songwriters, a deluxe re-release of their debut LP featuring five all-new songs followed not long after the line-up was cemented. Those songs segued Bodysnatcher into a new sound and style that would not full materialize until their two follow-up releases, This Heavy Void (2020) and Bleed-Abide (2022). These records together would not only see the band signing with premier heavy music label MNRK Heavy, but would also highlight the band’s unique ability to blend harrowingly personal tales of love and loss with blistering aggression. Between This Heavy Void’s “Twelve/Seventeen” and Bleed-Abide’s “Smashed Perception”, the band seemed to encompass the alpha and omega of all things eviscerating—emotionally or, well, literally.

Progressive metalcore pioneers Born Of Osiris have released their latest offering "In Desolation" and the accompanying official video (via Sumerian Records). Leading up to today's release, the band has dropped "Torchbearer", "A Mind Short Circuiting" and their most recent banger, "Elevate". Altogether, the tracks have clocked up 2.6 million streams on Spotify and 664k views on YouTube. When asked about the inspiration behind "In Desolation", the band shared:

Unprocessed Release New Single "Sacrifice Me" + Official Music Video

German prog metal powerhouse Unprocessed is back with their new anthemic track "Sacrifice Me" and the accompanying music video, setting the stage for what promises to be another exciting chapter in the band's musical journey. Speaking about today's release, guitarist and vocalist Manuel Gardner Fernandes shares:

VOLA Release Latest Track "I Don't Know How We Got Here" + Lyric Video (via Mascot Label Group)

Today, the Danish-Swedish quartet VOLA reveal the elegantly hypnotic new single “I Don’t Know How We Got Here”. The song is taken from their new studio album ‘Friend of a Phantom’, which will be released via Mascot Records on 1 November. You can watch the visualiser below.

The band will also play festivals over the summer and their headline Friend of a Phantom European tour will begin on 1 November and will call through Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the UK, The Netherlands. Tickets available HERE.

VOLA have always had the remarkable ability to get under the skin of a song with incredibly affecting subject matter. Talking about the new song, Asger Mygind explains: "'I Don’t Know How We Got Here’ interweaves stories about tragic events in society with a story about a relationship slowly dying out. It seeks to portray the feeling of disbelief that follows when something valuable vanishes right in front of us.”

It has been three years since the release of VOLA's defining album, ‘Witness’. They've since wrapped up two tours of the US with several venues upgraded due to overwhelming demand, as well as sold-out shows in New York, Chicago and the iconic Troubadour in Los Angeles, where the band struck up a friendship with In Flames' Anders Fridén - who features on the new album on the song, “Cannibal”. Their first tour of Canada resulted in sold-out shows in Toronto and Montreal, and they rounded off the continent with triumphant South American shows in Mexico, Brazil, and a sold-out show in Chile.

The Danish-Swedish quartet - Asger Mygind (vocals/guitar), Martin Werner (keys), Nicolai Mogensen (bass), and Adam Janzi (drums) - are now to set free their fourth studio album. Their strength has always been combining a multitude of ideas within a single song, packing it in with a grandiose power that can be as ferocious as it can be delicate.

Talking about their evolution, Janzi says. "We have had the time to internalise ‘Witness’ and let its aftermath sink in, which has shaped how we approached ‘Friend Of A Phantom.’ Our personal tastes have changed, the way we approach our instruments and songwriting has changed, our lives have changed, time has passed, and adventures have been had. Whatever piece of melancholy that ‘Witness' had, has just grown and become a central part of this new album. I feel that VOLA has grown and reached a new moment in its life, maturing."

With the announcement of the new album, they revealed the video for “Break My Lying Tongue”. The song showcases VOLA's signature blend of introspective lyrics and intricate soundscapes, offering a deep dive into themes of misalignment and emotional vulnerability. With its haunting melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, it stands out as a powerful and evocative piece.

Last year they released the first taster of new material when they dropped "Paper Wolf". Talking about the song, Mygind offers, "We never put boundaries on our songwriting but merely search for a direction that feels unexplored and exciting to us. With "Paper Wolf", we suddenly found ourselves in a territory where an old-school metal atmosphere crept into our blend of sounds. We liked what we heard and then ran with it at full speed.”

VOLA has been one of Europe's most exciting metal bands in recent years, catapulting them onto the international stage.
