The Pretty Wild Unleash New Track "AFTERLIFE (feat. Magnolia Park)" + Official Visualizer via Sumerian Records

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild has unleashed their latest offering, "AFTERLIFE (feat. Magnolia Park)" and the accompanying visualizer (via Sumerian Records). The track can be found in the band's forthcoming full-length 'zero.point.genesis', out Friday, November 21. Other tracks on the album include previously released bangers "PARADOX", "OMENS""Button Eyes""living ded", and the smash-hit "sLeepwALKeR" (as a physical bonus track). The songs so far have amassed over 23 million streams on Spotify alone and 3 million views on YouTube and counting. Speaking about today's drop, the band commented:

"'AFTERLIFE' circles the idea of star-crossed souls bound by something ancient and unbreakable. Conceptually it’s plucked from the kind of love you find in mythology and old tragedies, where you have this obsessive devotion and destruction. It isn’t perfect, but it's dark, beautiful, and eternal." -jules

"'AFTERLIFE' explores the idea that love dynamics are rooted in codependent magnetism and resonance patterns. it asks, what happens when obsession doesn’t end with death, but carries ur soul into magnetizing eternal dynamics? the result is kinda tragic and romantically glitchy. it’s basically a pop-metal requiem." -jyl

Blackshape Release New Track "Falling" and Official Visualizer via Papercut Recordings

Atmospheric post-metal outfit BLACKSHAPE have dropped their latest offering "Falling" and the surreal accompanying visualizer (via Papercut Recordings). Rife with soaring, expressive guitar melodies interlaced with menacing beats, "Falling" is taken from the band's forthcoming new EP 'Prismer I', set for release on October 24. Speaking about today's release, the band commented:

'Falling' captures the tension at the heart of [our] sound—the pull between making music [that is] heavier and more abrasive, and at the same time more beautiful. An intense instrumental journey, “Falling” speaks for itself while setting the stage for its vocal-driven sister song on [our] upcoming record, 'Prismer I'".

Stream "Falling" here, watch the official visualizer below, and pre-save 'Prismer I' here.

ABOUT BLACKSHAPE

Haunting, intricate, and emotionally brutal, BLACKSHAPE create music that lives in the shadowed space between chaos and clarity. Their compositions stretch across post-metal, math rock, and ambient minimalism—twisting tension and release into something visceral and cinematic. For fans of sonic unease, dramatic builds, and songwriting that lives outside the lines.

Making Prismer IBLACKSHAPE’s new record, pushed the band to their breaking point. The process became their prison, a crucible of relentless personal and creative pressure. But the music was a prism—refracting that pressure into something beautiful, harrowing, and cathartic, and ultimately reshaping their perspective in the very act of making it. The title reflects this duality, capturing both the burden of confined thinking and the liberation in breaking it apart. Like a prism splitting light, every experience expands perspective into countless paths, showing that escaping the prison of one view means embracing the full spectrum: beautiful, ugly, terrifying, and freeing. This is Prismer.

ABOUT I SEE STARS

Somehow, it’s been nearly a decade since the last I See Stars album. There have, however, been a few hints and glimpses of it over the past couple of years. In 2023, the electronicore pioneers released four songs: AnomalyDriftare we 3ven and D4MAGE DONE, while in 2024 they put out SPLIT. While all five songs do appear on this record, they only revealed a fraction of what the band—these days comprised of Brent Allen (guitar), Andrew Oliver (keyboards/programming), Devin Oliver (clean and unclean vocals) and Jeff Valentine (bass)—had in store. Because THE WHEEL, the band’s sixth full-length, is an album in the truest sense of the word, one designed to be listened to in full from beginning to end, and which truly immerses you in its world when you do. It’s the product of a lot of patience, a lot of care, a lot of time, some of which was by design, some of which was out of the band’s control.

After releasing Treehouse in 2016 and then touring on it, I See Stars did actually start working on a new album, but when Covid hit, they scrapped pretty much all of it to instead sharpen their focus. There was, after all, nothing but time, so the band decided to spend it making a record that lived up to their own expectations and which fully matched their artistic vision.

“It gave us the opportunity to take a step back and really dive into what we wanted to actually dig in and write,” says Jeff. “Not that what was done before was bad, but this gave the four of us an opportunity to sit in a room with each other and just write.

As such, THE WHEEL is a fully-formed living memory of both of those eras, and one that places the listener right there with the band. “It's really kind of a special piece,” continues Devin, “and you feel that in the journey when you're listening to the album front to back. You feel us swimming in the mystery of what life was doing and where it was taking us.

Produced by David Bendeth, and mostly mixed by Zakk Cervini—though Tom Norris also worked on a couple of tracks—THE WHEEL took on a life of its own when the band started making it. The album begins with Spin It, which is simply the sound of a wheel being spun. It’s not just for aesthetic purposes, though. In the studio each day, the band would spin a web-based digital wheel to determine which song they would work on, but it was also a way to add some levity to the creative process.

“We would throw all the songs onto this website wheel,” remembers Andrew, “as well as some dumb, totally not creative thing in there that would like sidetrack us—but purposefully. It was this comedic approach that we were taking every day, where whatever the wheel told us to do, we’d do. It had these zany sound effects, but also created this weird vibe where we were like ‘We've just got to trust fate here.’ We're all obsessed with fate and letting things happen as they might, so the sound effect was an obvious thing for us to include—and then it took shape into a much larger concept.”

“What I really loved about the wheel concept,” adds Devin, “was it wasn't our choice. It was our choice to leave it to chance, yes, but we trusted the universe to point us in the right direction by spinning the wheel. It started off as a joke, but turned into this thing that became really important for us.”

Beyond the idea of fate and purpose, there are some other complex and deeply personal themes on this record. The yearning, tragedy-laced carry on for you—undoubtedly one of the saddest, most beautiful songs on the record—was written after Devin and Andrew lost their uncle to pancreatic cancer, while a number of the other songs detail Devin’s struggle with a condition called intracranial hypertension that’s caused as a result of too much fluid in the brain.

“It made me very familiar with the hospital,” says Devin. “I was hospitalized for months on end and that lasted for about two years of my life. So a lot of this record is about that. I don't deal with the chronic pain that I had from that anymore, and some would say the condition is in remission, but it's really hard for me to listen to some of these songs—truly—because there were a lot of moments writing this record where I didn't want to be alive. That's really hard for me to admit, because I'm not that person who talks about this stuff openly. I talk about it through our music—my traumas come out through my artistic expression. So listening to the record really gets emotional for me, because I'm not in the same place I once was. I'm super grateful to not be in all that pain.”

It all combines to make a record that’s as cerebral as it is visceral, as vulnerable as it is powerful, and as pure as anything I See Stars have made in their almost two-decade long career. After a long time in stasis, it’s clear to hear just how rejuvenated and refreshed they are, even as final track Curtain Call speeds off into the distance. That song is, as Devin calls it, “a wheel of emotion”, and ends with a question (well, two) repeated over and over again: ‘Will you ever love? Will you ever love me?’ “'Curtain Call' is tapping on every fucking thing we talked about on the whole record in one song,” says Devin. “It's almost like the wheel spinning in song form—it keeps turning round and is just racing through time and emotions. And the question we ask at the end of the song has a lot to do with the band. Will I ever be enough as an artist? Will the fans ever see us for everything we've put into this, which essentially at this point is our entire lives?”

Even just one listen to this record and it’s pretty clear that the answer to both those questions is a resounding yes.

Wind Walkers Release New EP 'I Don't Belong Here' + Share "Hereditary" Official Visualizer via Fearless Records

Genre-blending metalcore outfit Wind Walkers have today released their new EP 'I Don't Belong Here' (via Fearless Records), the band's latest body of work since their 2023 sophomore album 'What If I Break?'. In celebration of the news, the quintet has shared the official visualizer for their track "Hereditary". When asked about the inspiration behind the song, vocalist Trevor Borg commented:

"This song comes from some of my earliest memories of watching someone I loved change in ways I couldn’t understand. As a kid, you don’t have the power to fix it, you just kind of absorb it. The “shapeshifting” spoken of in the lyrics is about the ways people hide their pain, how they put on new faces to survive, and how that loss of self can be passed down. I wrote it to process how trauma can echo through generations. It’s a very personal song to me, but I think a lot of people know what it’s like to grow up in the shadow of someone else’s suffering and to feel that weight shape who you’ve become."

'I Don't Belong Here' is available now on all streaming platforms at the link here. Watch the official "Hereditary" visualizer below, and stay tuned for more Wind Walkers news coming soon.

The Pretty Wild Announce New Album 'zero.point.genesis' out November 21 via Sumerian Records + Drop "PARADOX" Official Video

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild have announced their debut album, 'zero.point.genesis' out November 21 via Sumerian Records. The forthcoming full-length includes previously released fan-favorite tracks "OMENS", "Button Eyes", "living ded", and the smash-hit "sLeepwALKeR" will be available as a physical bonus track. Altogether, the tracks have already amassed a staggering 20 million streams on Spotify alone and nearly 3.3 million views and counting on YouTube. In celebration of the news, the sisters have released a new track from the album "PARADOX" and the accompanying official video. When asked about the album, the band shared:

"'zero.point.genesis' is an album of collapse and resurrection, mythic, yet memeable in its rawness. For me, it’s about battling and ultimately healing the fake ego structures forged in trauma that kept me small, erasing my feminine gifts to fall in line. It’s crawling through the haunted shadow void society is too afraid to face, and emerging closer to my core essence through reclamation of those feminine gifts." -JYL

"This record is layered with multiple dimensions of interpretation; the more you listen, the further you traverse through them with us. We pushed into concepts that once felt untouchable to us, we set external input aside, and wrote them anyway. It’s an album of poetic contrasts, brutally heavy moments, with haunting instrumentation and flayed open lyrics. Woven throughout are nods to our personal interests, theatrical elements, classical composition, and moments of rage and playfulness." – JULES

ABOUT SWOLLEN TEETH

The sound, the look, the atmosphere, the lore. Swollen Teeth are as much a ritual as a performance, summoning primal ferocity in clouds of intrigue with a thundering rumble. Each musical outburst arrives shrouded in mystery, enveloped by a sense of dread, with passion and purpose. Heavy percussion, riffs, punk gang chants, dive bombs, turntables, breakdowns, shrieks, guttural screams, and powerfully unashamed anthemic melodies coalesce in Swollen Teeth. The collective absorbs the raw intensity of the most potent subculture and spits it back with a determined uniqueness. They’ve spent countless hours in the lab, lobbing out occasional missives online like Molotov cocktails. Each of the scattered, chopped-up, and explosive clips unleashed to the world, culled from a handful of shadowy live appearances, built anticipation for the group’s inevitable ascension. They travel in our dimension but are not of it. This is otherworldly chaos without apology.

Swollen Teeth burst onto the scene in 2021 with their self-titled EP, a visceral blend of brutality and raw emotion that garnered praise from heavy music outlets and fans alike. Singles "EMPTY", "LETHAL" "CAR CRASH" and "SWOLLENTEETH" showcased their unpredictable, frenetic energy, which Revolver Magazine described as "brutal as hell." with Metal Hammer enthusing that "there’s an air of grotesque nu metal nastiness that feels like a re-vamped take on the misanthropic nihilism of Iowa’s finest." and Kerrang! musing "What's really heavy, masked, mysterious, sounds like it was made by complete lunatics, and involves Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson and producer Ross Robinson?."

Wind Walkers Announce New EP 'I Don't Belong Here' Out October 3 via Fearless Records + Drop "Silk & Static" Official Music Video

It's a great day to be a Wind Walkers fan! The band announced their forthcoming EP 'I Don't Belong Here' out on Friday, October 3 via Fearless Records. In celebration of the news, the quintet has dropped their new track "Silk & Static"and the official music video. Amidst glitchy electronics blended with crushing riffs and seamless melodies, the song's central theme is especially relatable to those who have a neurodivergent condition. When asked about the inspiration behind the track, Wind Walkersvocalist Trevor Borg shared:

"Writing "Silk & Static" was like staring into a mirror and unpacking every frustrating thing about myself. It came from a place of not understanding why my mind felt so chaotic all the time and why I kept getting in my own way. After recently being diagnosed with ADHD, the pieces started falling into place, and it shed a different light on the song. It was very eye-opening in the fact that I wasn't alone, and that this kind of internal noise or “static” is something others live with too. At its core, I wrote this song to offer comfort to people who can relate to feeling overwhelmed and misunderstood, while trying to make sense of themselves."

The Pretty Wild Unleash Latest Track "living ded" + Official Video (via Sumerian Records)

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild have unleashed their new track "living ded" and the accompanying official video (via Sumerian Records). Prior to today, the band released the official music video for "sLeepwALKeR", which climbed the TikTok Viral Music Charts to #43 with 22.6k organic creations on the platform. The sister duo next shared "Button Eyes" which continues to climb the ranks at Active Rock radio. Most recently, The Pretty Wild dropped their banger "OMENS" and official music video. Altogether, the tracks have clocked over 15 million streams on Spotify alone and nearly 2 million views on YouTube. Speaking about today's release, the band shared:

"'Living ded' is about reclaiming power through an intense and seemingly unbeatable struggle. When you’re dragged to your darkest depths, almost into existential collapse, and you find yourself suspended in this kind of weird liminal space. Some choose to stay there, but others self-realize the suffering, refuse to disappear, and choose to rise again as something new raw, almost ghostly or unkillable. You can hear that resurrection point in the lyric ‘in death we wake’." - Jules

"'Living ded' is about the death of the projection society built to contain you in. its for the moment you realize the world insidiously shapes people thru subconscious dynamics into masks they begin to mistake for who they are.

The vampiric theme interwoven in "living ded" addresses the fact paradoxically that we’re all parasites in each other’s myth. We feed off validation, guilt, and projection until the self rots into shape. And we do it to ourselves. That’s the part no one wants to take accountability for." - Jyl

Stream "living ded" here and watch the official video below.

Fans will have their chance to see the band live beginning next week on the Hell Hath No Fury Tour, alongside In This Moment, Wargasm and Kat Von D, as well as at one of the summer's most anticipated North American festivals, Inkcarceration 2025. For ticket information, please click here.

Wind Walkers Release New Music Video "Eating My Heart Out" (via Fearless Records),

Genre-blending metalcore outfit Wind Walkers have today released the official music video for their poignant new track "Eating My Heart Out" (via Fearless Records), directed by Alex Kouvatsos at Blackwolf Imaging. Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, vocalist Trevor Borg commented:

"This song captures the guilt, feeling of distance and identity conflict that comes with life as a musician and being on the road. You can feel such a divide in identity, having to be what your career needs and who your family needs at the same time. I’m sure this song will resonate with people dealing with turmoil in a relationship, but I truly wrote this song to be a portrait of guilt in having uncertain dreams, with the intent to resonate with other artists and people who share the same conflicts. I also intended for it to serve as a message to the fans and lovers of music about the sacrifices that go into the art form they hold so dear to their heart."

Prior to today, the quintet announced signing with Fearless Records and dropped "The End Aesthetic" through their new label home which has clocked up 164k views and counting on YouTube and nearly 1.2 million streams on Spotify alone. Watch "Eating My Heart Out"  below, and stream the track here,

HANABIE. Drop New Track "Spicy Queen" + Official Music Video via Sony Music Japan

Harajuku-core trailblazers HANABIE. are bringing the heat on their new single "Spicy Queen" and the official music video (via Sony Music Japan). Taking inspiration from experiences on their recent US co-headlining tour with Kim Dracula, today's release is in celebration of the band's 10-year anniversary and is a counterpart to the fan-favorite track "We love sweets". When asked about "Spicy Queen", vocalist Yukina commented:

"The song 'WE LOVE SWEETS,' which we released in 2021, has become a gateway track for listeners to discover our music. It’s a very meaningful track for us. As time has passed and we have matured, we thought, “Let’s make a spicy version of the song!” during our tour. Inspired by the famous “Nashville Hot Chicken”, we decided to create this new rendition that features a spicy and stimulating musical progression. It also has an addictive quality that will make you want to ‘eat’ (listen to) the track on repeat!"

Guitarist and vocalist Matsuri said:

"This song was born during our U.S. tour from the sudden thought, "Let’s create a track that marks our 10th anniversary year.” It’s also the first track we crafted collaboratively as a band through constant discussions and was incredibly fun to make!! We included plenty of moments for our fans to shout along with us, designing the track with the vision that all the parts will come together during a live performance. So, we hope you listen to it a lot and come join us at our live shows!"

Bassist Hettsu also added:

"To celebrate our 10th anniversary year, we created this song that captures the essence of HANABIE.! It’s a track where everyone can shout together during the chorus and has parts that pay homage to our past songs. We feel it encapsulates the 10 years of HANABIE.! Listen to it a lot and let’s sing this track together at our live shows!"

HANABIE. drummer Chika shared:

"This song was created through discussions among us during our U.S. tour and marks the milestone for the band’s 10th anniversary year! My favorite drum phrase is in the second verse, where the rhythm alternates every measure between on-beat and off-beat! Aside from the drums, I also love Matsuri’s vocal slides at the beginning of the second verse! I hope everyone will shout along with us during the chorus when we perform at live shows."

Prior to today, the quartet released the official music video for "Tasty Survivor", the featured ending theme song for the anime series 'Momentarily Lily', available for streaming now on Crunchyroll, after releasing their latest EP 'Bucchigiri Tokyo'. Stream "Spicy Queen" here, watch the official music video, and be sure to stay tuned for more exciting HANABIE. news coming soon.
