A Shoreline Dream & RIDE's Mark Gardener present 'Hollow Crown' jewel from new 'Whitelined' album

Riding a beautiful wave of collaboration with Ride frontman Mark Gardener, Colorado-based postpunk / shoegaze trailblazers A Shoreline Dream presents their new video for 'Hollow Crown' feat. Mark Gardener. Apart from contributing vocals and guitar, this release entails a full-on collaboration - from co-writing and recording through to co-production - between Gardener and A Shoreline Dream frontman Ryan Policky.

Earlier the two presented two collaborative singles 'Everything Turns' and 'Written In Dust', both reverie-laced trips revealed as part of A Shoreline Dream's new 'Whitelined'album - their eighth full-length record to date.

“Ryan wouldn't have had a clue what was going to happen until I got the tunes from him. That was the starting point and Ryan sent me quite a few different tunes and instrumentals that he was pulling together. Out of those, there was two or three which I just suddenly latched on to and obviously the first one that really drove and led the way was 'Everything Turns'. For me, that's kind of perfect because I like to live in the present," says Mark Gardener.

"Obviously I love being in Ride, but that is also tricky because we have a catalogue, so we have to kind of live in the past sometimes, as well as being present. So I actually love being in my OX4 Sound studio, which I created a few years ago, and to be sent music like this. This was a real treat and it's an honour to be tasked with trying to sit and marry words with music in a way that hopefully feels that they've always been there and have always been meant to be there".

Arriving two years after their critically acclaimed 'Loveblind' album, 'Whitelined' was released via Latenight Weeknight Records with Mark Kramer (Urge Overkill, Bongwater, Shimmy Records) overseeing mastering and the record's preparation for direct-to-vinyl production. The band's first album released as an LP, fittingly on 180g white vinyl, the album art is derived from a photo taken by Policky at Yellowstone and re-worked into an oil on photo on canvas, shortly after experiencing that place.

Formed in 2005, A Shoreline Dream is now multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries, who are based in Barnum, Colorado. Usually a self-contained unit on most releases, 'Whitelined' includes three collaborations with Mark Gardener. Together, they have crafted a record where shimmering walls of sound-wash of turbulent percussion and swooning vocals weave an otherworldly sonic reality.

Policky and Jeffries met Gardener at a Ride show in Denver on Policky’s birthday.  Working throughout 2023 between tour dates, they wrapped up three songs, co-written and co-produced, near the one-year mark. This is the fifth time the band has worked with UK music legends. Ulrich Schnauss, Engineers, Chapterhouse and Rocket Girl Records have all been a part of the ASD family at one point or another.
The 'Whitelined' album is out now, available as a limited edition on 180g white vinyland digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

A SHORELINE DREAM share 'Hollow Crown' feat. RIDE's MARK GARDENER ahead of 'Whitelined' album (out July 19)

"Delicate curves and beauty... a glorious dawn" PopMatters

"One of the leading lights of the neo-shoegaze movement" DKFM

"Shadowy and storming dreaminess" Stereo Embers Magazine

"A Shoreline Dream and Mark Gardener open the gate to a garden of sonic enchantment built on trance-inducing spine-tinglingly magnificence... a masterpiece – dare we call it an instant classic for lovers of post-punk, dream-rock and shoegaze" ~ Spill Magazine

Iconic Colorado-based postpunk-shoegaze outfit A Shoreline Dream release their eighth album 'Whitelined' on July 19. Ahead of this, they preview the infectious upbeat track 'Hollow Crown', the second collaboration with Ride frontman Mark Gardener from this record.

On 'Whitelined', Gardener, together with founding producer and vocalist Ryan Policky and long-standing collaborator Erik Jeffries, have synergized forces to craft a record where shimmering walls of sound wash of turbulent percussion and swooning vocals to weave an otherworldly sonic reality.

Formed in 2005, A Shoreline Dream has churned out numerous releases under their own label Latenight Weeknight Records, carving a unique path that has produced a treasure trove of music that continues to inspire and captivate listeners.

A Shoreline Dream recently shared the lead single 'Everything Turns' featuring Mark Gardener on vocals, but also as co-writer and co-producer. With three of the album's tracks being collaborations with the Ride frontman, this marks the fifth time the band has worked with UK music legends. Ulrich Schnauss, Engineers, Chapterhouse and Rocket Girl Records have all been a part of the ASD family at one point or another.

Policky and Jeffries first met Gardener at a Ride show in Denver on Policky’s birthday. “Right after seriously one of the best shows in recent memory, we threw around the idea of collaborating” says Ryan Policky. They worked together for the remainder of 2023, wrapping things up near the one-year mark. “It was such an amazing collab. Mark was super open stylistically and the ideas flowed. I think we created something neither of us were fully expecting.”

The idea of every beautiful thing having a completely alternate reality is a driving force behind the words and stories on the album. The music and dynamics were all created on the fly, with only about 60% of what was recorded making the final cut. “The flow was super important and we finally landed on a set of songs we feel represent so much of the current A Shoreline Dream vibe,” says Policky.

Gardener shares, “It was great and one of those life-fate meant-to-be chances to connect with Ryan and A Shoreline Dream. Ryan sent a good few tracks through to me from Denver to my Ox4 Sound Studio in Oxfordshire and the first backing track I totally connected with was to become 'Everything Turns'. Lyrically, it’s a reflection on how technology is taking over and, the more connected we get with it, the more alone we can find ourselves in the real World.  The backing track was special and the chemistry really happened with this track. It was a joy to ride these sonic waves with Ryan throughout the whole creative process. IN the end “Everything Turns!"

'Whitelined' will be the first A Shoreline Drive album released as a vinyl LP, fittingly on 180-gram white vinyl. Mark Kramer (Urge Overkill, Bongwater, Shimmy Records) oversaw mastering and the record's preparation for direct-to-vinyl production.  The album art is based off a photo taken by Policky at Yellowstone in 2008, and re-worked into an oil on photo on canvas.

Refining their sound since their 2014 album 'The Silent Sunrise', A Shoreline Dream has been constantly reinventing themselves. 2020's 'Melting' found Policky gain creative strength and determination from events around him and abroad to create the most refined and heartfelt music ASD has ever produced. In 2022 brought their sixth album, the critically acclaimed 'Loveblind'.

On July 19, the album will be released as a limited edition on 180g white vinyland digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where 'Everything Turns' can already be downloaded.

Progressive shoegaze stalwarts A Shoreline Dream are back with flair as they present their new single 'Everything Turns'featuring Ride frontman Mark Gardener. This is the first taste of 'Whitelined', the band's eighth full-length record, following their 2022 critically acclaimed 'Loveblind' album. Out on July 19, this new offering will be released as a limited edition of 180g white vinyl LP and digitally via Latenight Weeknight Records.

Formed in 2005, A Shoreline Dream is now multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries, who are based in Barnum, Colorado. This album sees them team up with Gardener to craft a record where shimmering walls of sound wash of turbulent percussion and swooning vocals to weave an otherworldly sonic reality.

The video for 'Everything Turns' was filmed, directed and edited by Ryan Policky for Latenight Weeknight Records, LLC. Captured in Denver, Colorado in April 2024, it features Julianna Beckert as the wandering actress.

“It was great and one of those life-fate meant-to-be chances to connect with Ryan and A Shoreline Dream. Ryan sent a good few tracks through to me from Denver to my Ox4 Sound Studio in Oxfordshire and the first backing track I totally connected with was the track that was to become 'Everything Turns'," says Mark Gardener.

Policky and Jeffries first met Gardener at a Ride show in Denver on Policky’s birthday.  Working together throughout 2023 between Ride tour dates, they wrapped up three songs, co-written and co-produced, near the one-year mark.

““Right after seriously one of the best shows in recent memory, we threw around the idea of collaborating. This was such an amazing collab. Mark was super open stylistically and the ideas flowed. I think we created something neither of us were fully expecting. Making art with true pioneers is why I continue down this path," says Ryan Policky.

"Working with Mark, who impressed me with his songwriting so many eons ago, was like nothing else. It was like a process of possibilities somehow all hitting at once, all for the right reasons, and all in a way I don't think either of us could have expected. It was on my 2023 birthday that it somehow took shape".

Mark Kramer (Urge Overkill, Bongwater, Shimmy Records) oversaw the mastering and the record's preparation for direct-to-vinyl production. 'Whitelined' will be the first A Shoreline Drive album released as a vinyl LP, fittingly on 180G white vinyl. The album art is based off a photo taken by Policky at Yellowstone in 2008, and re-worked into an oil on photo on canvas, shortly after experiencing that place.

Over the past two decades, A Shoreline Dream has churned out numerous releases under their own label (Latenight Weeknight Records), working with legends Ulrich Schnauss and Mark Kramer, and landing distribution by iconic UK indie label Rocket Girl Records for music written while visiting Ulrich in Leytonstone. They've remixed Engineers' music for progressive label gods K-Scope and also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

As of May 14, 'Everything Turns' is available exclusively via Bandcamp. As of May 20, the 'Whitelined' album will be available for pre-order as a limited edition on 180g white vinyl. On July 19, the album can also be found on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

Colorado's A SHORELINE DREAM presents dark expansive journey on 'Driveaway' single

"Delicate curves and beauty... a glorious dawn" PopMatters

"Goth heaven... one of the leading lights of the neo-shoegaze movement" DKFM

"A sonorous journey – a inward looking, lush and wonderfully orchestrated sonic adventure with dark intensity" ~ Spill Magazine

"A wild and beautiful thing"  The Big Takeover

"Shadowy and storming dreaminess" Stereo Embers Magazine

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream presents 'Driveaway', a track that truly spells what A Shoreline Dream is all about. A song meant to drive to. A song that flows and wants to be put on repeat. Full of sea drenched layers and huge expanses.

Filmed in Barnum and Central City, Colorado, Jessica Halpine stars in this dark journey of a video, which was filmed, directed and edited by Ryan Policky with costumes by Tiffany Smyth and Jessica Halpine.

This is the latest audio-visual offering from their sixth full-length album 'Loveblind' album, released via Latenight Weeknight Records, which dives into recollections and past desires while looking forward in a wash of soundwaves towards a blinding future. With 40 minutes of goth-laced progressive soundscapes, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals.

Having changed lineups over the years, A Shoreline Dream since forming in 2005, today ASD revolves around multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries. Their legacy became even more lush owing to collaborations with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers. The band also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

"After many months of pushing ourselves through the pandemic, we came up with this early on in the exploration of the 'Loveblind' album. The visual concept is based on a lot of what has been happening to people just going about their normal everyday lives, only to be now forcefully expelled from feeling any sense of freedom. Now that many are getting back to our pre-pandemic lives, we’re finding ourselves in an entirely new situation. A situation where lines are constantly crossed, art is overly scrutinized, and people are at each others throats trying to separate themselves to try and reset their entire existence. Computers and technology advances are faster than we can control, and our realities are being changed at every moment by a whole new way of living. Some are giving up," says Ryan Policky.

"Some are using it as a way to escape. Others are just moving into a hibernation state. In the video this is entirely the case. A person expelled by an unknown force. Something that is part artificial, and mostly real. A state of dreamy and a state of confusion. We follow along as it all blends together in a place from distant past. A place where we all find ourselves eventually."

The pandemic has taken its toll on our mental well-being and the perception of money and power has blown previous years away. Dying to get back to the good times and moments of pure, unscathed lust, we long for new experiences to sweep us off our feet. 'Loveblind' reaches for that same energy, taking cues from previous A Shoreline Dream works, drawing from their progressive goth roots. Layers of moodiness, blissful explosions of rock and chugging tempo mix with the pain, love, hope and moments of near death experienced while creating the album itself.

"The video was shot on location in Barnum, Colorado, involving one of my favorite treks up in the mountains - the Central City Graveyard on the far end of town, hidden at the top of a mountain, buried in layers of trees with nonstop exploration. I utilized a bit of machine learning techniques to bring that element of out-of-control computer advancements, while merging in the lore of witches being cast away in the wardrobe stylings by Artsmyths, Inc., who helped pull together the style for our recent 'Loveblind' and 'Harlow Syndrome' videos," says Ryan Policky.

The 'Loveblind' LP is out now digitally, available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The band have already started working on new material, and expect to be able to make an announcement about this soon.

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream presents 'Harlow Syndrome', the latest audio-visual offering from their new 'Loveblind' album, released viaLatenight Weeknight Records. Their sixth full-length record dives into recollections and past desires while looking forward in a wash of soundwaves pointing towards a blinding future.

Filmed in Denver & Littleton, Colorado and starring Jessica Halpine and Allan Cutler, this video was filmed, direct and edited by Ryan Policky with costumes byTiffany Smyth and Jessica Halrpine.

"My first intention was to create a video for the moment I thought I was passing away, which goes along with that track. I personally feel it's one of the best on the album after giving it some time to settle," says ASD mastermind Ryan Policky.

"This 'Loveblind' album is an introspective view of things building all the way up, then crashing back down - like relationships that try to rekindle, only to find that the original reason for the failure has grown even stronger. The songs and driving energy behind each represents rare moments of true passion and also those of complete devastation. Even in perceived time of feeling, things couldn’t get any better, a finality lies waiting behind the next corner".

Their first release since the Covid pandemic began, offering 40 minutes of goth-laced progressive soundscapes, the band had previewed thelead tracks 'Alarms Stop Ringing' and the album's title track 'Loveblind'. Produced by Ryan Policky and recorded over 10 months in the Barnum suburb of Denver, Colorado, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals.

In 2020, A Shoreline Dream released their 'Melting' album (2020), the latest in a series of critically acclaimed releases. Formed in 2005, today ASD revolves around two original members - multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries. Their legacy is further rounded out thanks to collaborations with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers (for whom they created a remix for progressive label gods K-Scope). Also of note is the fact that the band also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

Shoegaze / Post-Punk devotees A Shoreline Dream treat listeners to 'Loveblind' ahead of new album

"Delicate curves and beauty... a glorious dawn" PopMatters

"Goth heaven... one of the leading lights of the neo-shoegaze movement" DKFM

"A wild and beautiful thing" The Big Takeover

"Shadowy and storming dreaminess.. reminiscent" Stereo Embers Magazine

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream present the single 'Loveblind', the title track from their forthcoming album, their first dose of new music since the Covid pandemic began. Just as infectious as the lead track 'Alarms Stop Ringing', these two sonic gems preview 40 minutes of goth-laced progressive soundscapes.

"The title track is a true representation of the observation and realization that so many of us are lost in a sea of past visions of love. Waiting for it to return, forgetting it's gone in some cases, and searching for it within ourselves. With so much self-reflection happening these days, it's difficult to realize that the ones we've cared for need "love" now more than ever to successfully find their way out of personal storms," says Ryan Policky.

'"The production is indeed much darker than many previous A Shoreline Dream tracks, but also one heavily influenced by some of my biggest influences from the early years of goth and gaze-inspired music. An orchestra of deeper tones, with an emphasis on traditional composition and symphonic execution. Extreme highs, and hidden lows centered around a pop focused tempo".

The 'Loveblind' album, set to release on September 23 via Latenight Weeknight Records, follows their critically acclaimed 'Melting' album (2020). Their sixth full-length album, A Shoreline Dream dives into recollections and past desires while looking forward in a wash of soundwaves pointed towards a blinding future. Produced by Ryan Policky and recorded over 10 months in the Barnum suburb of Denver, Colorado, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals.

Over the years, A Shoreline Dream has churned out numerous acclaimed releases, working with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers(for whom they created a remix for progressive label gods K-Scope). They also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

While the pandemic has taken its toll on our mental well-being, the perception of money and power has blown previous years away. Dying to get back to the good times, moments of pure, unscathed lust, we are eager for new experiences to sweep us off our feet. 'Loveblind' reaches for that same energy, taking cues from previous A Shoreline Dream works released over the past 16 years, drawing more from their progressive goth roots. Layers of moodiness, blissful explosions of rock and chugging tempo mix with the pain, love, hope and moments of near death experienced while creating the album itself.

On August 30, 'Loveblind' will be available for download exclusively via Bandcamp, where 'Alarms Stop Ringing' can also be downloaded and the full 'Loveblind' album is available for pre-order. On September 23, the album will be released everywhere online, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream are back with a new album after a pandemic time-out. 'Loveblind' will arrive on September 23 via Latenight Weeknight Records, following their critically acclaimed 'Melting' album(2020). Ahead of this, the band presents the infectious lead track 'Alarms Stop Ringing', previewing 40 minutes of goth-induced progressive walls of sound. 'Loveblind' promises to be an album shoegazers, post rock lovers and daydreamers should take note of.

The sixth full-length album from the prog-goth shoegazers dives into the recollections and desires of the past while gazing in a wash of sound waves pointed towards a blinding future. Recorded from November 2021 - July 2022 in the Barnum suburb of Denver, Colorado with fine-tuned production from Ryan Policky, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals from the bottom of a well.

'Alarms Stop Ringing' is accompanied by an equally mesmerizing video, filmed at The Best Little Boarding House and Black Monarch Hotel in Victor, Colorado. Starring Allan Cutler, Jessica Halpine, Matilda Marginal, Alyssa Wyss and Elyssa Gleeson, it was directed, filmed and edited by Ryan Policky with costume design by MARGINAL and Jessica Halpine.

“Victor is one of my favorite places to detach from society and the star of the album. The cover artwork and this video were visually born from it. In the late 1800’s, the main street burned to the ground and left behind a super haunted presence. Fast forward to present day - two locations on this main street are some of the most amazing spots to visit. The Black Monarch is a goth hotel dream-come-true, frequented by Tesla back in his day, and The Best Little Boarding House is a converted brothel that is probably the most haunted place in the city (Just try staying asleep through the night!)," says Ryan Policky.

"These became the main set pieces for the video, which help tell the story of a man haunted by relationships and memories of his past while attempting to move forward in his own personal struggle. A dream location for a surrealistic photographer such as myself, and an amazing visit to say the least. Having 3 days to roam the ruins and find new locations to explore really helped bring it all to life.”
