HANABIE. Release New Track "Tasty Survivor" (via Sony Music Japan) Featured On 'Momentarily Lily' Anime Streaming Now on Crunchyroll

Harajuku-core trailblazers HANABIE. are kicking off 2025 deliciously with their new track "Tasty Survivor"(via Sony Music Japan). Today's release is the featured ending theme song for the new anime series 'Momentarily Lily' streaming now on Crunchyroll, with an official music video coming soon. Speaking about the track, vocalist Yukina commented:

"This is our very first tie-in with an anime, and we wrote this track specifically for it! The song reflects the world and characters of Momentary Lily while also capturing the essence of our band life. From the intense “eat or be eaten” vibe of live band battles to the exhilarating build-up toward the chorus, it mirrors the way we warm up for a live show and the anticipation of listeners heading to the venue.

We hope this song becomes a source of energy for everyone living their lives to the fullest all over the world."

Guitarist and vocalist Matsuri shared:

"For our first-ever anime tie-in, we focused on blending the world of Momentary Lily with HANABIE.'s unique style. The result is a track that’s bold and straight-forward, yet carries a touch of fragility. The intensity of the intro, in particular, was inspired by the anime’s battle scenes, so we’d love it if you pay close attention to every detail. There were so many connections between HANABIE. and the characters of Momentary Lily, and we poured all those emotions into the lyrics. We hope you enjoy every aspect of the song, from the lyrics to the music, down to the smallest nuances!"

Bassist Hetsu added:

"This is HANABIE.’s long-awaited anime tie-in song!

We expressed the story of the girls in the anime in true HANABIE. style—it's pop, fast-paced, and features an incredibly catchy chorus that perfectly matches the battle scenes. We think it’s going to be addictively fun!

The bass line is also super catchy and intense, so make sure to pay attention to that as well.

We hope you’ll enjoy the song together with the anime! ♪"

HANABIE. drummer Chika also commented:

"This is our first-ever anime tie-in, and we had the honor of creating the opening theme for Momentary Lily. While keeping the anime in mind, we also made sure to stay true to HANABIE.'s signature style.

One of the key highlights in the drums is right before the first chorus—a section where the kick drum is hit eight times in a row. It’s a small but powerful detail, inspired by the dynamic and intense battle scenes, as if representing a flurry of attacks.

Just like the anime, this track is full of highs and lows, and we hope it gets your heart racing with excitement as you listen!"

Prior to today, the quartet released their banger "Ito Okashi My Type" from their new EP 'Bucchigiri Tokyo' available now on all streaming platforms, and announced a massive North American co-headlining run with alternative artist Kim Dracula beginning in March 2025. The band has also just announced their EU/UK Fall headlining tour beginning in late October. With this EP, we want to go bucchigiri from Tokyo to the world!"

HANABIE. vocalist and guitarist Matsuri commented:

With all the activities in Japan and the many overseas tours we embarked on, 2024 has been an incredible year, and I believe this EP is the culmination of it all. HANABIE. Release New Single + Music Video "GIRL'S TALK" via Sony Music Japan

It's a great day to be a HANABIE. fan! The trailblazing Harajuku-core sensation has today released their latest track "GIRL'S TALK" and the official music video (via Sony Music Japan). Speaking about today's release, HANABIE. vocalist Yukinacommented:

"We’ve created another song that only we can produce! From the moment I received the initial demo from Matsuri that included the glass sound in the intro, I knew I wanted to create a luxurious and mode ambience song. I’ve been looking forward to releasing this for a while. Isn't it a very precious time for people of any age to meet with friends after a long time and reminisce about their past? It’s nice to have someone to share stories with and I would be happy if HANABIE. can be included in everyone's “talks”."

Guitarist and vocalist Matsuri added:

"I wanted to gradually show a more mature HANABIE. so tried to express a cool and mature woman even from on the sound end. It’s a little different from our usual HANABIE. style. Please enjoy a mature HANABIE. along with the music video!!"

HANABIE. bassist Hettsu shared:

"The song has a more mature atmosphere than the previous HANABIE. songs! I think it’s very HANABIE. that it starts with a chill glass sound and suddenly speeds up. The bass line from before the chorus to the end of the chorus is my personal favorite, so please check it out! In this song, Matsuri is doing more mature vocals and Yukina is doing a new style rap, so please listen carefully to that part too♪"

Drummer Chika stated:

"This song is not only a cute song, but also shows a new aspect of HANABIE. ! Yukina's rap and Matsuri's melody are very impressive and catchy! The drum phrases in this song were designed to be cool and mature, but I also kept in mind a sense of speed and a slow and fast patterns. In particular, I thought of a difficult drum phrase for the first melody of the second verse, so I hope that those who have drum experience will try to copy it! In the music video, I tried to give a mature look and there was a new challenge for me, so please check it out!"

The band previously released "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu", their anthem about authenticity and embracing the love of anime and video games from Japanese culture, which has amassed a staggering 1.3 million views on YouTube and over 1 million streams on Spotify alone. HANABIE. Unleash New Music Video "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu" via Sony Music Japan

Trailblazing Harajuku-core sensation HANABIE. has today unleashed the official music video for "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu" (via Sony Music Japan). Speaking to themes about personal authenticity and embracing the love of anime and video games from Japanese culture, "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu" is the band's latest offering after releasing their cover of Imagine Dragons' runaway hit "Believer". When asked about today's release, vocalist Yukina commented:

"I wanted to write a song to express my gratitude to all the fans, staff, and bands that I met and played with on our world tour, and to express what I felt on the tour. One of the things I felt was "Japanese culture, such as anime and video games, is truly loved"! We love Japanese culture, but not only about Japanese culture, this is a chaotic and HARAJUKU CORE-like song that makes you think it’s cool to be faithful and straight up to what you like."

Guitarist and vocalist Matsuri exclaimed:

'OTAKU Lovely Densetsu' is a chaotic song that focuses on anime and games that are part of Japanese culture. You shine brightest when you’re into what you love and just being OTAKU. OTAKU is not just in Japan but also overseas too so be confident being OTAKU! This song is just freestyle and doing what we want, so please enjoy this HANABIE. world! Japan culture rocks!"

Bassist Hettsu shared:

"I think this song is about how OTAKU has become more commonplace since entering the 2021 era, and how everyone is addicted to something and has become an OTAKU! Well, most of all we ourselves are OTAKU! LOL Personally, please listen closely to the end of the intro falling into the outro where you can feel the skipping beat, it’s my favorite part. It's catchy with hectic changes, so listen to it a lot and get hooked⭐︎"

HANABIE. drummer Chika also commented:

"The intro drum phrase expresses a parallel world feel with the snare out of position! I was inspired while traveling overseas seeing drummers who added blast beats. I think I was able to put it in a good way in the second verse of this song! All OTAKU should continue to be proud and enthusiastic! If you are not OTAKU, I hope you will take this opportunity to step into the world of OTAKU! Thank you!!!!"

HANABIE. released their debut album 'Reborn Superstar!' which includes tracks such as "TOUSOU (Run Away)", "今年こそギャル ~初夏 ver.~ (Be The GAL~ Early Summer ver.~)", and their viral hit "お先に失礼します。(Pardon Me, I Have to Go Now.)". Stream "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu" here, watch the music video below and be sure to keep an eye out for more HANABIE. news coming soon.
