Maddox Batson’s FIRST DANCE Extends with Deluxe, THE AFTER PARTY, Out Now

Maddox Batson’s 10-song First Dance (The After Party) is officially available and includes three new songs: “I Need A Truck,” “Somewhere South” and “2 Feet.” Listen HERE via Prosper Entertainment / Warner Records.

“Last week at Stagecoach, Jelly Roll gave me some great advice. He said, ‘the next time you walk on stage, just walk slow and take it all in,’” shares the 15-year-old burgeoning country singer/songwriter/performer. “It’s been a whirlwind, and I’m so grateful to all the fans who take the time to listen to these songs, learn all the words and share them. Hearing you sing them back when they aren’t even out yet is beyond incredible, and I promise you, I am taking it all in with y’all!”

The deluxe EP follows Batson’s announcement of the I Need A Truck Tour, which kicks off on September 7 in Richmond, Virginia and features 29 dates across the United States.

“This tour is going to be so sick,” Batson continues. “We’re already dreaming up production design and ways to make it really special. Can’t wait to see you all again!”

The music video for “I Need A Truck” was filmed earlier this year in California and is set for release today at 3 pm ET, directed by Jake The Shooter. It’s the latest release and written by Batson with Ashley Gorley, Hunter Phelps and David Garcia, who also produced the track, that is already a fan-favorite.

The Alabama raised, Nashville born teen blends country and pop with heartfelt vocals, which is why Forbes declared that “it’s not only his lyrics and relatable subject matter that’s captured the hearts of young fans, it’s his engaging, high-energy personality that shines through every live performance, music video, and interaction with everyone he meets.”

After making his Grand Ole Opry debut in March and appearing at Stagecoach Music Festival in April, Batson will join Lainey Wilson's Whirlwind Tour for select dates in September and October including Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

About Maddox Batson:
Maddox Batson navigates the world with wisdom and wit far beyond his 15 years. After the Nashville-born, Alabama-based songwriter began gaining notoriety covering songs from Zach Bryan, Red Clay Strays, and more, he started to write his own songs. Thanks to early singles like “Tears In The River” and “I Wanna Know,” Batson quickly showed that he wasn’t only a star at covering country hits, but an excellent writer of his own home-cooked cuts – a practice he saw first-hand as a co-writer on Lana Del Rey and Quavo’s smash hit collaboration, “Tough.”

With the arrival of his latest singles, “Girl In Green” and “I Need A Truck” off his May 2 deluxe EP and his EP  First Dance (The After Party), Batson is ready to show the world what he can create, all while embarking on sold-out live shows across the country and making debut appearances at Stagecoach and the Grand Ole Opry. Life is moving fast for the multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar & mandolin), who has fully embraced his next- up status in country-pop music. More at MaddoxBatson.com

Maddox Batson’s “First Dance” Extends w/ “The After Party” – 3 New Songs Out 5/2

There’s nothing like the anticipation of your first dance – or as an artist, your first EP – and budding singer/songwriter/entertainer Maddox Batson wants to keep the excitement going. Having sold out the first leg of his Road to Indio Tour in support of his 7-song March 21 release First Dance, the Tennessee teen adds three songs – “I Need A Truck,” “Somewhere South” and “2 Feet” – with First Dance (The After Party), available Friday, May 2 via Prosper Entertainment/Warner Records.

"We’re so excited to add a few tracks and release a deluxe of First Dance for our fans,” shares Batson. “I’ve been blessed to write with so many incredible songwriters – we have so many good songs that we’ve been playing on the road, and some have already felt like fan favorites. We just felt like we should get ‘I Need A Truck’ and ‘Somewhere South’ out to fans as soon as possible,” he adds of releasing a deluxe just six weeks after his first EP

“There’s one that felt important for me to share right now because it’s the perfect way to express how I’m coping with everything that’s happening, and that song is ‘2 Feet’,” he shares of a song he co-wrote with Tiggi and Mishon Ratliff and is a nod to his whirlwind year including his Grand Ole Opry debut, inaugural tour currently underway and first recorded music being available for fans. “I’m so excited to share even more music to our incredible fans with The After Party."

With “Girl In Green” and “I Don’t Like You Anymore” among the new songs already being sung back to him from the crowd at sold-out shows in Columbus, Ohio, Louisville, Kentucky, Raleigh, North Carolina, Huntsville, Alabama and more within the first two weeks on tour, Batson is writing and singing what he knows and it’s connecting. f28 observes, with “a performance that was both intimate and electrifying… the sight of parents covering their ears while their kids screamed with uncontainable joy was a testament to the infectious energy Maddox brings to his shows.”

As Batson looks ahead to his extended EP’s release and in particular “I Need A Truck,” the multi-instrumentalist adds, “Growing up in the country, you start talking about your truck when you're like 13. What's it gonna look like…what kind of wheels you're gonna get... whether it's a Ford, Ram or a Chevy. Usually that's passed down to you from your parents. Kinda like Coke or Pepsi.

“‘I Need A Truck’ is about finding that special someone you can share that experience with… and this song is me picturing what it’s gonna be like to ride around with her. Nothing like it – a beautiful girl and a good-looking truck. I can't wait!"

Breakout Country Artist Maddox Batson Releases 'First Dance' EP

Powered by a stunning year of early hits, rising country sensation Maddox Batson unveils his highly anticipated First Dance EP, available now via Prosper Entertainment/Warner Records. The multi-instrumental singer-songwriter continues to captivate audiences with his heartfelt storytelling and signature sound, building on a story which has already caught global attention. Listen to First Dance HERE.

With millions of streams to his name, Batson first connected with fans through his viral hits like “Tears In The River” and “I Wanna Know,” showcasing raw talent and deep emotional resonance. His instinctive ability to blend classic country roots with a fresh, modern twist has made him one of the most exciting new voices in the genre today.

First Dance features seven tracks with the same youthful magnetism, including highlights like the single “Girl In Green.” Showcasing his stunning signature style, Batson paints a cinematic picture on the catchy chorus, “Tell me, have you seen the girl in green? Felt like a movie, yes it could’ve been a dream.” The music video for “Girl In Green” is set to premiere at 1pm PT on Friday, March 21 - watch HERE.

On “Problem,” soft spoken acoustic guitar fills the emotional gaps between slick snaps and buoyant beats. Dealing with the turbulence of a toxic relationship, Batson comes to an empowering realization on the unshakable refrain, “Baby, what you mad at me for? Maybe you’re the problem.” He shares a perceptive fusion of spirit and soul on the moving “God Talkin’,” and then, there’s the romantic clarity of “It Was You.” Loose acoustic guitar underlines his emotionally charged hook, “The one thing I've been missing, it was you.” Full track listing below.

Setting the stage for First Dance, Batson’s new EP arrives after the standout “I Don’t Like You Anymore.” The latter is approaching 1 million Spotify streams and 2.6 million YouTube views on its accompanying music video. It follows in the wake of the buzzing “X’s,” which has already amassed over 5.7 million Spotify streams in addition to 11 million YouTube views on the music video.

This spring, the charismatic singer-songwriter and performer is set to hit the road once again with headlining tour dates in New York City, Dallas, Chicago and more, along with a performance at Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, CA. Following high demand, Batson upgraded venues across the country with limited tickets remaining. This fall, he’s set to join one of country’s biggest stars, supporting Lainey Wilson’s Whirlwind Tour.

In a short time, Batson has skyrocketed to the forefront of country music fueled by a series of popular independent singles. Born just north of Nashville, Tenn. and raised in Birmingham, Ala., the now 15-year-old developed a fervent passion for music as a kid. Eventually, he cultivated a sharp signature style by infusing classic country storytelling and swagger with southern rock energy, pop palatability and distinctive grooves. With cuts like a current Lana Del Rey and Quavo single “Tough,” the “Tears In The River” singer will soon make his debut on the Grand Ole Opry Stage on March 26, 2025.
