NYC's Ecce Shnak & world-class DJ Eskei83 unleash 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy (Kill Em Mix)'

NYC-based alt-rockers Ecce Shnak and Germany's Eskei83 present 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy (Kill Em Mix)', an invigorating re-envisioning of the original version of 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy'. This adrenaline-filled hit, which has already lit up the DJ-producer’s recent sets at Tomorrowland and elsewhere, serves as a bridge towards the band's full-length album, 'Dandy Variances', slated for spring release via Records Man, Records.

Ecce Shnak (pronounced Eh-kay sh-knock) is David Roush (composer, bassist and one of two singers), Bella Komodromos (vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn (drums). Known for their high-wire sonic performance, where intense musicality and a touch of madness exist in perfect, precarious balance, they whimsically incorporates diverse artistic expressions, tackling profound subjects and intriguing minutiae with remarkable clarity.

'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy (Kill Em Mix)' evokes imagery of sci-fi and action-thriller fight scenes from the Matrix, Bladerunner, and John Wick. Rest assured, the good guys win! Reimagining the original’s math-metal guitar riff as a throbbing dubstep synth-bassline and its frenetic drums as a straightforward high-octane dance-beat, Eskei83 quotes snippets of Bella and Davey’s sung and shouted performance as a gang vocal for energized crowds to share their own voices to the ecstatic romp.

"The Dresdenian shite-kicker recently spun his version at the dragon-blessed Tomorrowland party in Belgium. Both Ecce Shnak and Eskei83 are proud to share this version with their own audiences and music-lovers generally. Endless gratitude to all music lovers worldwide," says David Roush.

Eskei83 adds, "I made a remix for Ecce Shnak and played it at Tomorrowland! In 2024, I was asked to create my version of 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy' and what started as an experimental challenge turned into a legit club weapon. My [Kill Em Mix] is now ready to smash floors!"

Since releasing their 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP in February, recorded and produced by Jeff Lucci, mixed by Nicholas Vernhes  (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Wild Nothing, The War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, The Weeknd, Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend).

Since then, Ecce Shnak has garnered ample press attention and airplay, released their live 'Backroom Sessions' EP, hosted a hot series of live shows in New York City, and completed a successful U.S. tour with platinum-selling legends Spacehog and EMF. Ecce Shnak also features on the new EMF single 'LGBTQ+ Lover', an epic indie dance track that offers a safe space for the marginalized queer community, the video footage being filmed during their recent joint tour.

'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy (Kill Em Mix)' is out now viaRecords, Man Records, available from digital music platforms, includingSpotifyand YouTube and Amazon Music.

DRAKE MILLIGAN ANNOUNCES BRAND-NEW ALBUM, TUMBLEWEED, OUT NOVEMBER 7 AND RELEASES NEW SONG “OLD FLAMES, OLD WHISKEY”

Critically acclaimed Country artist, Drake Milligan, announces a brand-new album, Tumbleweed, set to release November 7, and drops a new song, “Old Flames, Old Whiskey,” out everywhere now – pre-add/pre-save/pre-order and listen HERE. Produced by Trent Willmon, Tumbleweed will include 14 tracks that perfectly combine traditional Texas country, Western swing, and modern Nashville stylings, while showcasing Milligan’s timeless musicality. The title track, which was released last month, hit #12 on the UK Country Radio Airplay chart in only its second week. Milligan will be celebrating today’s announcements on the Grand Ole Opry stage tonight at 7:00pm CT.

Written by Brett and Jim Beavers, “Old Flames, Old Whiskey” leans into Milligan’s smooth baritone as he weaves a tale of memory, regret, and the trouble that comes when heartbreak meets a bottle. The new song captures the spirit of country’s golden era while firmly establishing Milligan’s place as one of the genre’s most compelling new voices.

Having been on the road throughout 2025 opening for Lainey Wilson, Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, Milligan will kick off “The Tumbleweed World Tour” at his headlining show at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on November 11, which will also serve as his official album release party. The tour will include all forthcoming shows including dates in Paris and Brussels in March 2026 and C2C Festival in Rotterdam, Berlin, London, Glasgow, and Belfast. Milligan is also announcing a pop-up performance at Ole Red in Orlando, FL on Saturday, November 8, a second show in the market as he’ll be onstage at the KIA Center opening for Lainey Wilson earlier that night. Attendees will get an intimate glimpse into his re-imagined show ahead of “The Tumbleweed World Tour.” For tickets and more information please visit drakemilligan.com.

NYC-London duo THE KING CANUTES pay tribute to PREFAB SPROUT on 'Cars and Girls

Brooklyn-London indie duo The King Canutes present 'Cars and Girls', the second taste of their debut album 'Eastern Seaboard, Perfect Summer', forthcoming via the Montclair, New Jersey-based Magic Door Record Label. Prefab Sprout aficionados will surely appreciate the cover homage to the band’s Steve McQueen masterpiece.

The King Canutes is Keir Woods (vocals, electric and acoustic guitars), who brings a sonorous true folk voice of Northern England, while Richard Alwyn Fisher (vocals, backing vocals, electric and acoustic guitars) is the scrappy Replacements-style Midwesterner. The pair met in Brooklyn in the early 2000s in NYC’s cosmopolitan pop / indie rock scene and released their debut EP 'Last Callers and Losers' in 2008.

The duo used to perform this song for ‘The Love Hangover’ [an annual post-Valentine’s Day show]. This version blossoms into a smooth swaggering rock ride out. Woods' vocals evoke the wistfulness of the original version while Fisher's sinewy guitar lines break down the layers, then build back as a drum machine transitions to live drums by Kevin March of Guided by Voices.

“When we first began playing “Cars and Girls” live it was stripped back to the bare essence, in contrast to the Prefab Sprout very eighties classic. But over the years, and with the gifts of the studio, our version has become as layered and baroque as the original!,” says Keir Woods.

Richard Alwyn Fisher adds, “Prefab Sprout offered such a unique voice, and it was fun and satisfying to create a version that was both an homage and also a new and personal take on the song.”

The King Canutes make intelligent, skewed pop with echoes of early 80s-90s Australian and Scottish pop, British folk and Midwestern indie rock, all melted in the current cosmopolitan cauldrons of New York and London. Combining the dynamic tension of dual singer-songwriters, their music sites somewhere between The Go-Betweens and the long-distance, long-haul commitment of The Postal Service,

The duo recently released 'Seymour Stein (for Earle Holmes)', named for Earle Holmes, the club owner and friend who gave Keir his Paris bookings after moving from NYC. This song captures the elation of freedom and the frustration of starting the artistic journey again. This song is elevated by stellar horns by Mac Gollehon (David Bowie, Al Jarreau, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger), bassist Dave Derby (Dambuilders, Gramercy Arms, Lloyd Cole), and Jessie Kilguss on backing vocals.

Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by renowned producer Ray Ketchem (Guided by Voices, Luna, Elk City, Gramercy Arms) at Magic Door Recording Studio, this ambitious album involves world-class artists such as Kendall Meade (Sparklehorse, Mascott), Mike Dillon (Rickie Lee Jones), John Leon (Roky Erickson), David Nagler (Nova Social, Joan Baez, Aaron Neville), Doug McEachern (Suran Song in Stag), Renée LoBue (Elk City) and Verena Wiesendanger (Semi Gloss).

As of October 21, 'Cars and Girls' is out everywhere, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. The 'Eastern Seaboard, Perfect Summer' album, out on November 21st, is now available for pre-order.

Ian Munsick Releases Ozzy Osbourne Tribute, “No More Tears (Live From Sturgis)”

While Ian Munsick has been critically celebrated by HITS Daily Double and The New Yorker for putting the “western back in country,” the Wyoming native is also known for genre-bending covers during his live show, showcasing his range of influences with his rendition of girl pop hits including Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” and classics such as Neil Young’s “Old Man.” Most recently, Munsick went viral for an Ozzy Osbourne tribute, performing “No More Tears” in honor of the rock legend who passed away earlier this year. Munsick knew he had something special due to fans’ reactions – and today is releasing his live recording of the song.

Listen to “No More Tears (Live From Sturgis)” Below

Ozzy’s influence on Munsick began at an early age, as Munsick recalls, “When I was 8 years old, I stumbled upon my older brother’s CD collection. I sneakily slid out a black colored album with a small tan cross on top and threw it in my walkman CD player (shout out the early 2000’s). One of the most iconic bass riffs of all time captured my ears right out of the gate, followed by the most recognizable voice in all of Rock n Roll. It was Ozzy’s 1991 hit song ‘No More Tears.’”

Doing the cover of “No More Tears” in Nebraska upon the singer’s death in July came together by happenstance. Munsick shares, “23 years later, I’m on stage sound checking in Kearney, Nebraska when out of the air and into my fingers comes that same iconic bass riff. My band quickly followed suit and we jammed a verse and chorus before moving on to our normal soundcheck routine. I headed back to the bus to catch a quick nap before the long night ahead when breaking news hit my phone… ‘RIP Ozzy.’ The universe was telling me to play that song that night, so we quickly worked up a fiddle heavy version of the heavy metal hit.

“As our 90 minute show was coming to end, I nervously looked at my drummer to count me in for our tribute to the Ozzman,” he adds. “The bass riff captured the country audience as they erupted with joy and sadness all at once. After the show, social media did its thing and made our cover of ‘No More Tears’ the most viral moment I’ve had thus far in my career. I knew we had to release a version exactly like the one we played in Nebraska that night. Luckily, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was the following weekend... what better atmosphere to play some Ozzy? This time, we hit record.”

Munsick recently set The Eagle Flies Free Tour for 2026. Beginning February 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the tour will feature 17 dates with special guests Lanie Gardner, Ben Haggard, Tyler Nance and Jake Worthington, highlighting one of the most distinctive voices in modern country music – and his distinctive modern-Western style.

The follow up to his 2025 Eagle Feather album, Munsick’s The Eagle Flies Free Tour continues a streak of touring success for the native son of Sheridan, Wyoming – including a history making turn at the famous Cheyenne Frontier Days in July.

Headlining the iconic rodeo and Western lifestyle celebration, Munsick became the first Wyoming native to secure top-billing of the event’s musical lineup, playing songs from across his three albums – Coyote Cry, White Buffalo and Eagle Feather.

TOMBS Streams New Album 'Feral Darkness' Ahead of Release

New Jersey experimental metal collective TOMBS is now streaming their new full-length, 'Feral Darkness,' in its entirety via Decibel Magazine! The album is due this Friday, October 17, via Redefining Darkness and you can now stream it HERE.

"Wrapped in Seldon Hunt’s cosmic decay and mastered by Andreas Rosczyk, Feral Darkness is an unflinching meditation on mortality, transcendence, and the eternal night that waits beyond the threshold," says Decibel of 'Feral Darkness.'

The band is not only returning with a new label, but also with a new sound! While 'Feral Darkness' still embraces TOMBS' black metal roots, it also explores the band's gothic, death rock side, creating the band's darkest and most haunting record to date!

Pre-orders for 'Feral Darkness' are now live via Bandcamp as well as via the Redefining Darkness store.

The cover artwork was created by Seldon Hunt and can be found below.

Formed in 2007, New Jersey-based experimental metal outfit TOMBS blends bleak, post-punk minimalism with the ferocious attack of sludge and haunting goth rock. Mayhem Celebrating 25 Years of 'Grand Declaration of War'

No band embodies the spirit of black metal like Mayhem. In the wake of violence and scandal, the Norwegians set the standard for the genre with their canonical 1994 debut. Other influential acts were quick to follow in their footsteps, but these iconoclasts defied convention by making a truly bold statement on Grand Declaration of War.

"This record means a lot", its chief sonic architect Blasphemer told Outburn during a recent retrospective on the band's long since debated second album. "It built a foundation, not only for me personally, but it also built a new foundation for Mayhem".

Today, Season of Mist is celebrating the album's 25th anniversary with a special edition of Grand Declaration of War. Along with the original master, this sunburst colored gatefold LP includes new silver hot foil packaging, a double-sided poster and an embroidered leather patch.

"For Season of Mist, there was a before and an after Grand Declaration of War", says the label's founder and manager Michael Berberian. "This is probably the first true classic album we ever released, the one that put us on the map. And what an album. Talk about unexpected. Talk about daring".

The 25th Anniversary Edition of Grand Declaration of War comes out December 5th on Season of Mist.

On Grand Declaration of War, Mayhem continued to bow down for no one – even themselves.  The band were coldblooded as ever on merciless cuts like “A Time to Die”, but their arsenal of blast beats and tremolo picking was strengthened by an increase in command. Written in collaboration between newly appointed guitarist Blasphemer and vocalist Maniac, the album didn’t expand so much as it invaded territory that was then believed off-limits: spoken word (“View from Nihil”), trip-hop (“A Bloodsword and a Colder Sun”), soundscapes of doom (“Completion in Science of Agony”).

No matter how they choose to impose their will, after 25 years of Grand Declaration of War, there's still nowhere that Mayhem fear to tread.

The incredible rawness of the Deathcrush EP (1987) was followed by the still iconic and genre-defining De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas (1994), which featured devilish drummer Jan Axel “Hellhammer” Blomberg, who had joined in 1988. The vocalist on this album was the Hungarian Attila Csihar of Tormentor fame, who returned later in 2004 to take over from his meantime heir, the enigmatic original singer Sven-Erik “Maniac” Kristiansen. The latter was featured on the Wolf’s Lair Abyss EP (1997), which was written mostly by highly talented guitarist Rune “Blasphemer” Eriksen, who scored a massive artistic success with the highly controversial Grand Declaration Of War (2000).

Recording lineup
Maniac - Vocals
Blasphemer - Guitars
Necrobutcher - Bass
Hellhammer - Drums

Tore Ylwizaker - Noise on "Completion in Science of Agony (Part I of II)"
Øyvind Hægeland - Additional vocals on "Completion in Science of Agony (Part I of II)"

Virginity Release "You Can't Have My Blood: Bad Jazz Companion" via Smartpunk Records

Smartpunk Records' Florida power pop outfit, Virginity, has released a full-length companion to their 2024 LP "Bad Jazz," titled "You Can't Have My Blood." The tracklist is the ultimate fan service to enhance the original tracklist. It compiles songs from their two EPs released this year, as well as a handful of additional tracks, including an unreleased original and a few covers.

You can pre-order the vinyl now, out physically on October 24, just in time for Fest in Gainesville. This is an extremely limited vinyl release with no plans of repressing once sold out.

Listen below.

Pre-order "You Can't Have My Blood: Bad Jazz Companion" here

he band has received critical acclaim from the rock scene's top tastemakers, including New Noise Magazine, Brooklyn Vegan, Audiotree, and more. As fan favorites at Smartpunk's SXSW showcase and Florida's beloved FEST, Virginity have cultivated a core fanbase who are foaming at the mouth for these new tracks.

Speaking about the new deluxe release, Virginity says, "Our newest release, You Can’t Have My Blood, is truly for the Virginity heads. When we released two EPs earlier this year, we knew we wanted to get them on vinyl in some form and that doing so was an important factor for our heaviest listeners, but we weren’t sure what it should look like. In taking a look at all the material, which mostly came about during the late stages of the Bad Jazz sessions, we decided that this should be a sort of Bad Jazz spiritual companion. We had songs that never got past the demo form that we wanted to see the light of day, as well as some live performances, covers and other odds-and-ends that have been available in random places, but never in one place or on vinyl. As much as it’s a compilation of disparate songs, we believe it also stands up on its own as a piece in the tradition of artists like Guided By Voices. We think it’s a truly worthy collection of tunes for anybody, but something extra special for those that have been fans of our band for a while."

UPCOMING SHOWS:
10/22 - Pre-Pre-Fest Orlando @ Will's Pub
10/23 - Pre-Fest Gainesville @ Boca Fiesta
10/25 - The Fest @ The Atlantic
10/26 - The Fest (Fountains of Wayne cover set) @ How Bazar

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (Remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they're a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your Goals' Mutiny and Gameface's Good, they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worlds — putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases.

Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has reissued timeless albums such as Less Than Jake's Hello Rockview and Anthem, Patrick Stump's Soul Punk and Samiam's Clumsy. In the year 2025 alone they've put out new releases by the likes of Somerset Thrower, Keep Flying, Debt Neglector, Gully Boys, Sainthood Reps and so many more.

DoFlame and DEAR-GOD Drop Collab "Neighborhood Watch" EP Today

DoFlame and DEAR-GOD have dropped the four-track, collaborative Neighborhood Watch EP.  Listen to it below.

DEAR-GOD is the brainchild of Robert Ortiz who plays in DoFlame's band and is also a long-time production collaborator. So the synergy between these two artists is real!

DoFlame will spend some of the fall on tour with Pinkshift. All dates are below.

ABOUT DOFLAME:
For a solo artist, Mateo Naranjo, the mastermind behind DoFlame, is uniquely devoted to unlocking the potential of music scenes. The 21-year-old punk from Toronto is fueled by a desire to bring people into a world and in turn bring them together, to find the real sense of community that can be attained by immersing yourself in an underground culture. DoFlame's most recent album, BENT, bottles that feeling of discovery and camaraderie. Like a hardcore version of a coming-of-age movie, it captures all of the joy, confusion, and determination of being young and unsure of what's next just as effectively as it blends the unbridled aggression of heavy music with the swagger of hip-hop.

CKY Drop New Single "Can't Stop Running" — Listen // Touring This Fall

CKY have returned with "Can't Stop Running," their first new music since 2018. Released without advance notice, the track marks a new chapter for the band — one that builds on years of relentless touring and renewed creative momentum. Confident, melodic, and unmistakably CKY, the song hints at the evolution driving their next era.

Listen here or below.

"This song has been a favorite of ours since it was written and demoed, and it’s remained one of the standouts," says guitarist and singer Chad I. Ginsburg. "It will be played on tour and we're very proud of it. The rest of the upcoming tracks we'll be releasing are all over the map — however, this one happens to be one of our favorites. It has the perfect happy/sad feel, and shows real progression and growth in writing. This is a song for everyone — not just CKY diehards."

Drummer Jess Margera adds, "I must have heard this song about 2,000 times since we recorded it, and somehow I still get pumped when it comes on shuffle."

A music video for "Can't Stop Running" will be released in the coming weeks.

CKY have always thrived on defiance; born from skate-punk chaos and shaped by hard-earned lessons, yet still driven by the same raw energy that put them on the map. What was once reckless has become refined: The fire's still there; it's now just burning with purpose. Guitarist and vocalist Chad I. Ginsburg fronts the band with confidence and conviction, while co-founder and drummer Jess Margera anchors the sound with the power and precision that have always defined CKY, with his recent solo release Thoughts & Prayers (a multi-artist collaboration featuring members of Alice Cooper, Ween, Kyuss, Circa Survive, The Roots, Opeth, Clutch, and Sum 41) underscoring his ever-evolving musicianship. The chemistry between them remains undeniable — seasoned, focused, and still unmistakably CKY.

The lineup is now completed by acclaimed bassist Mike Leon, whose crushing work with Soulfly, Cavalera, Havok, and Igorrr has made him a standout in heavy and alternative music. A longtime CKY fan, Leon's journey has come full circle — from cheering in the crowd to sharing the stage with the band that inspired him to pick up the bass. Ginsburg calls his addition "a perfect fit," praising Leon's passion, drive, and deep understanding of the band's legacy. Leon made his debut with CKY at Warped Tour, delivering a performance that felt both familiar and fresh, and his presence marks a bold new chapter for the band as they prepare new music and take to the road.

CKY's impact on rock and alternative music is long-established, with a worldwide fanbase known as the "CKY Alliance," and a reputation for high-energy live performances. Invited on tours by acts such as Guns N' Roses, Metallica, and Deftones, the band has consistently demonstrated their versatility, endurance, and appeal. Armed with a new song and a new slate of tour dates to close out 2025, the CKY experience endures. The band will be firing on all pistons in 2026, with more to come.

KING ULTRAMEGA (Ft Richie Kotzen , Charlie Benante) Unveils New Single "Say Hello 2 Heaven", In Memory Of Chris Cornell

Alternative rock collective KING ULTRAMEGA, featuring members of ALICE IN CHAINS, ANTHRAX, MASTODON, and SOUNDGARDEN, have unveiled an emotional new rendition of the TEMPLE OF THE DOG classic, "Say Hello 2 Heaven", featuring Richie Kotzen on vocals and guitar. KING ULTRAMEGA crafted this single in loving memory of legendary vocalist Chris Cornell, while raising funds and awareness for MusiCares. MusiCares is the Recording Academy’s nonprofit that provides mental health, addiction recovery, and emergency services to those in the music community.

Originally written by Chris Cornell as a tribute to MOTHER LOVE BONE vocalist Andrew Wood, KING ULTRAMEGA members Richie Kotzen, Charlie Benante, and Mark Menghi have now reinterpreted "Say Hello 2 Heaven" in memory of Chris Cornell. Richie Kotzen lends his soulful, expressive vocal delivery to the reimagined version of the song, imbuing it with deep personal meaning. Kotzen's performance puts emotional expression over technical preparation, resulting in an honest and moving take on the music.

"I lost my sister to suicide in 2022, and that kind of loss changes how you experience certain songs," Kotzen comments. "It's not something I set out to bring into the session, but it showed up. That's when it stopped feeling like just a tribute and became something more personal."

Bassist and mastermind Mark Menghi knew that "Say Hello 2 Heaven" would become an integral piece of KING ULTRAMEGA from the start, due to its lyrical message. Menghi chose to keep the song's arrangement and structure almost identical to the original, but the band took some creative liberties in lending R&B/soul-inspired stylings to the music.

Menghi comments, "The lyrical message in 'Say Hello 2 Heaven' strikes a chord when you think back on how Chris wrote about Andrew's untimely passing, and here we are over 30 years later paying tribute to Chris with his song about his untimely passing. It's an emotional rollercoaster to say the least."

ANTHRAX Drummer Charlie Benante immediately agreed to play on "Say Hello 2 Heaven" due to his personal connection with the song. As a longtime fan of MOTHER LOVE BONE, Benante considers "Say Hello 2 Heaven" to be one of his all-time favorite songs.

About KING ULTRAMEGA:

KING ULTRAMEGA is a passion-driven musical project honoring the life, voice, and genius of Chris Cornell, one of the most gifted artists of our time. It launches in conjunction with SOUNDGARDEN’s long-overdue induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This project did not begin with a single, dramatic moment. Instead, it grew quietly and gradually, an organic result of years of conversations, inspiration, and deep reverence for a musician whose impact remains immeasurable.

"There is not a singular moment in time that led to this project," says bassist and producer Mark Menghi, the driving force behind KING ULTRAMEGA. "It was a trail of events that led to the formation of KING ULTRAMEGA and the evolving creation to pay tribute to the voice of a generation."

It started in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, when Menghi recorded a version of "Rusty Cage" with friends. What began as a creative release soon became something larger. With every step forward, the project deepened in meaning and purpose. "I kept crossing the mental roadblock of 'you are entering uncharted waters, are you sure you wanna do this?'" Menghi reflects. "Chris is one of those dudes if you cover, you better do it justice."

The decision to continue became clear when SOUNDGARDEN guitarist Kim Thayil joined the project and re-recorded one of his own iconic tracks. "Once Kim got involved and re-recorded one of his own songs, I knew something was brewing,"Menghi says.

Thayil embraced the project wholeheartedly. "I’m super honored to record alongside all the amazing musicians appearing on the KING ULTRAMEGA project," he says. "I’m equally proud that it celebrates SOUNDGARDEN in this tribute to the songwriting of Chris. Ultra-admirably, everyone’s participation is supporting the work of the MusiCares Foundation. Thank you Mark Menghi, Charlie Benante and Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM)."

For Menghi, this project is as personal as it is musical. "I went through some very difficult times in my life. I should not be here right now, but I am," he shares. "I like to think my past trials and tribulations helped me understand Chris just a little, hence the formation of KING ULTRAMEGA."

Song selection was guided by instinct. "My mood. It's really that simple," Menghi explains. "'Rusty Cage' was recorded simply because it's one of my favorite songs featured on one of my favorite records." Other songs came to Menghi during moments of reflection and inspiration. "There is a bunch more in the can right now, all with drums fully recorded, which are currently being worked out for future releases."

The goal was never to reinvent Cornell’s work. It was about honoring it with the respect it deserves. "It really is only about honoring the legacy of Chris Cornell. Nothing more," Menghi says. Each musician brought their own voice, but always in service to the song and to Cornell’s memory.

"Each musician has their own individual musical stamp," Menghi explains. "You hear the absolute best of each one of them. You are talking about musicians who helped invent and shape musical genres and helped define their generations in popular culture, not just music, but society as a whole."

The cast of collaborators is remarkable. Kim Thayil, Charlie Benante, Joe Satriani, William DuVall, Bill Kelliher, Alissa White-Gluz, Kenny Aronoff, Menghi himself, among many others. The mix of past friendships and new connections created a unique bond among them. "I think back and go 'did I really ask Joe Satriani to do an instrumental reinterpretation of one of the greatest modern vocal songs ever recorded?' or 'what the fuck was I thinking asking the great Kim Thayil to re-record one of his own classic Soundgarden songs?'" Menghi laughs. Yet, no egos entered the room. "Each participating musician saw the vision and understood that this is about honoring the legacy of not only an inspiring musician, but an amazing husband, father and man."

For Menghi, Cornell’s music has always been a constant presence. "Chris Cornell has been one of only a very small handful of musical constants in my life," he says. "I never waivered, not once."

Certain moments in the process were surreal. Recording with Thayil was one of them. "I remember thinking back saying to myself 'holy fuck, I’m on a SOUNDGARDEN song with Kim Thayil. What planet are we on?'"

Throughout it all, Menghi served as the project’s creative director, always guided by one central question. "How would Chris like this?" Every choice, from guest musicians to mixes to artwork, was measured against that standard. "If there is even a shred of uncertainty at any point in the process, back to the drawing board we go."

The recordings were completed remotely over several years. The final tracks were mixed with care to ensure a cohesive sound that still captured the raw emotion of the performances.

Hope is the underlying theme that runs through KING ULTRAMEGA. It is an offering to longtime fans and an invitation for younger listeners to discover the timeless brilliance of Cornell’s work. "KU is just a blip in the Chris Cornell universe,"Menghi says. "We are a subtle reminder that Chris was a true musical genius."

For Menghi and his collaborators, KING ULTRAMEGA is both a deeply personal labor of love and one of the greatest honors of their musical lives. "To be here thirty-plus years later paying tribute to whom I believe was the king of those times is one of the greatest musical honors of my life."

REDIVIDER Unleashes First Single "Sounds Of Malice"

REDIVIDER, the Louisville-based death metal band known for their blend of old school brutality and modern aggression, has released their debut single “Sounds of Malice” today on all streaming platforms. The track is the first offering from their forthcoming full-length album Sounds of Malice, which will be released on January 9, 2026 through Third House Communications.

“Sounds of Malice” introduces listeners to REDIVIDER’s punishing sound and fantasy-driven lyrical style. The song tells the story of a deranged wizard addicted to Liquid Pain, a dark substance harvested from human suffering. Vocalist Jacob Spencer’s delivery is both guttural and deliberate, carried by twisting guitar riffs, time signature shifts, and melodic dissonance.

The full-length album Sounds of Malice will feature seven tracks written with live performance in mind, each exploring themes of death, ritual, and myth. Recorded between Round Table Recording Company and Michael Kent O’Bryan Studio, the album was engineered by Michael Kent O’Bryan and Brian “Bone” Thorburn, mixed by Paul Nunavath, and mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound. The result is a record that captures REDIVIDER’s intense live presence while delivering clarity and depth.

About REDIVIDER:

With a sound rooted in old school brutality and layered with modern aggression, REDIVIDER combines guttural vocals, dissonant riffs, and relentless groove to create music that is both violent and immersive.

The band made their live debut in 2022 and quickly gained recognition in the underground scene, sharing stages with acts such as CREEPING DEATH, CRYPTA, MASACRE, COGNITIVE, and SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY. Their debut album Sounds of Malice is a conceptually rich, sonically punishing record that blends fantasy-driven storytelling with crushing heaviness. ICE NINE KILLS Unleash Dark Homage to Batman ‘89, “The Laugh Track”

Ice Nine Kills invite you to “dance with the devil in the pale moonlight” with “The Laugh Track,” their riotous homage to Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime. The new song and cinematic music video riffs on the Joker, particularly as portrayed by Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton’s gothic Batman

The Laugh Track” music video welcomes Matthew Lillard (Scream, Five Nights at Freddy’s, SLC Punk) and Phil Morris(Seinfeld, Smallville, Doom Patrol) to the INKverse, alongside returning collaborator Terry Kiser (Weekend at Bernie’s, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Weekend at Bernie’s II).

Stream “The Laugh Track" HERE and watch the brand new entry into the INK cinematic canon Below.

Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas spills:

"Why be a brooding bat when you can have the last laugh? After all, Jack Nicholson got top billing in Batman '89. While Michael Keaton's haunted Bruce Wayne is outstanding, young Spencer was drawn more to the Clown Prince of Crime. 'The Laugh Track' is our homage to Tim Burton's dark and gorgeous gothic Gotham. Batman '89 took its comic book material seriously, but it was far from grounded, and never forgot to have fun. It's the same tightrope we walk in Ice Nine Kills, with broad, maniacal smiles.

“Terry Kiser returns in the video (although the rumors of Miles' demise are exaggerated). And it brings a warm human smile to my face to introduce Matthew Lillard and Phil Morris to the INKverse. Like Prince before us, 'The Laugh Track' will have you dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight."

"The Laugh Track" captures the dark theatricality, gothic ambiance, and twisted humor that made Burton's Batman a masterpiece, delivered through Ice Nine Kills' distinctive mix of intense yet melodic metal and cinematic storytelling. The track follows Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs hit "The Great Unknown” (inspired by The Matrix) and the record-breaking "A Work of Art" from the highest-grossing unrated film ever, Terrifier 3.

Lillard crashed the Ice Nine Kills panel at this year’s Silver Scream Con to announce his entry into the INKverse. He and Spencer also revealed details about their Horrorwood Reserve collaboration, a blood colored bourbon issued in detailed collector bottles by Lillard’s Macabre Spirits.

Silver Scream Con 4 brought nearly 13,000 horror and music fans to the DCU in Worcester. Ice Nine Kills' headlining concert included guest appearances from WWE superstar Rhea Ripley and The Walking Deaddirector/producer Greg Nicotero, among others.

Horrorwood Reserve whiskey is a toast to the horror fandom that fuels both Macabre Spirits and Ice Nine Kills.Made from Bloody Butcher corn and aged five years in new American white oak, the whiskey delivers a slightly dry, nutty profile with notes of cinnamon, leather, and spice. Horrorwood Reserve boxed sets are available in two collectible, limited-edition sets: Golden Age and Silver Scream. Both sets contain a killer bottle designed by Michael Cortada of Ice Nine Kills, featuring a sleek-as-ice glass topper, along with a selection of celebrity cocktail recipe cards from Charnas and Lillard, and an epic lineup of horror icons. Horrorwood Reserve launches to the public today in very limited quantities. Head to HorrorwoodReserve.comfor more information.

“Horrorwood Reserve is the liquid soundtrack to your favorite slasher flick,” says Charnas. “It tastes like suspense, danger, and the satisfaction of surviving until the credits roll.”

Ice Nine Kills leads an unstoppable cultural empire that brings together metalheads, horror fans, and cinema lovers under one blood-soaked banner. The band will headline a When We Were Young sideshow in Las Vegas on October 17, followed by this year’s WWWY. After that, they’ll head to Europe for a headline tour, leading directly into the first-ever overseas Silver Scream Con, Silver Scream London, on December 13 and 14.

BLACK SEA OF TREES Premiere "A Red Dawn"

Traversing a forlorn sense of powerlessness juxtaposed with a ferocious intensity, "A Red Dawn" offers a commentary on human behavior throughout history as well as a search one's sense of self. The Australian progressive metal quartet BLACK SEA OF TREES are beginning their journey to unleash the second album Cult of the Sun. Listen to the first single, "A Red Dawn" HERE.

The band comments on "A Red Dawn":

"The lyrics illustrate the protagonist’s stagnant situation before being confronted by the sun god’s providence. The protagonist makes a covenant with the sun god, offering themselves in return for power to destroy their enemies and the creation of a new kingdom. The song ends with the protagonist destroying the temples of the old gods and the slaughter of those that upheld that religion."

Listen Below.

About BLACK SEA OF TREES:
Based out of Melbourne and Victoria in Australia, the progressive metal ensemble composes their music around the narrative of their releases. BLACK SEA OF TREES formed in 2018. The debut album, The Spiritual Beast, materialized in the spring of 2023. The band's forthcoming sophomore full-length is an exploration of spirituality, folklore and philosophy, with death metal, folk and ambient elements incorporated into the soundscapes. "A Red Dawn" marks the beginning of this next chapter for BLACK SEA OF TREES, introducing this next album's concept: the protagonist is chosen by god to overthrow an old kingdom in a spiritual revolution. It's a narrative that is heavily influenced by the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh, Akhenaten and his life’s journey.

BLACK SEA OF TREES bring to life their themes and concepts through dark atmospheric tones, strong full voiced melodies, falsetto and deep growls. With songs ranging from intense 8-minute long walls of sound to 3-minute atmospheric/acoustic passages, BLACK SEA OF TREES draw inspiration from the likes of OPETH, KATATONIA, CULT OF LUNA, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, and KARNIVOOL. Chase Atlantic (Over 8B Streams!) Release "LOST IN HEAVEN (HIGH AS HELL)" Deluxe Edition W/ 4 New Tracks

Globally acclaimed and genre-bending trio Chase Atlantic — comprised of Mitchel Cave, Clinton Cave, and Christian Anthony — have built their reputation by crafting a seamless fusion of pop, rock, and R&B. They push creative boundaries yet never stray from their core sound and that's precisely why they have connected so deeply with their legion of Gen Alpha (and beyond) fans and have accumulated over 8 billion streams and 1.2 billion YouTube views along the way. The Australian-born, Los Angeles-based trio is immediately identifiable, yet incredibly difficult to put a title or genre on either their sound or the audience that adores them. They fit in just as well playing massive pop festivals as they do touring with rock bands.

Armed with an array of hits across a multitude of genres, Chase Atlantic have picked up one of the widest-ranging fan bases in all of music.

They proudly release LOST IN HEAVEN (HIGH AS HELL), the deluxe version of their fourth albumvia Fearless Records. Listen Below

It boasts four additional tracks — including the recently released "FACEDOWN" and "REMIND ME" — and represents a dynamic evolution of LOST IN HEAVEN. It's a creative bridge that accurately depicts the future of Chase Atlantic's music and their desire for perfection. Rather than simply attaching a few additional "throw away" tracks, they invested time and intention into seamlessly crafting each song. Paying close attention to not only their intricate production, they also expand on their alluring and extremely unique vision. With this addition they aim to re-imagine their framework, embrace bold choices, and take creative risks that most artists wouldn't dare to even try.

The deluxe edition includes "WARCRY," which blurs the line between confession and rebellion. Reminiscent of earlier work like "Numb to the Feeling" and "Devilish," Chase Atlantic once again push the boundaries of modern music with their intoxicating blend of alternative R&B, and dark pop atmospherics. It also features "VICTORY LAP." Propelled by their signature fusion of brooding R&B, and hypnotic pop production, the track captures the high-speed rush of ambition colliding with hard-won success. Lyrically defiant yet emotionally charged, the track feels less like a celebration and more like a declaration — a reminder that glory is fleeting, but the chase never stops. Adventuring into unexplored territory sonically, Chase Atlantic masterfully combine three individual songs into one theatrical release to give the listeners a glimpse into future experimentation.

Brooklyn music mavericks CLONE unleash post-punk / altrock thrills with new 'Care To Try' EP

Brooklyn alt rockers CLONE have released their new 'Care To Try' EP, a blazing three-track offering, as well as fine limited edition 2-track '7” vinyl release. Together, this is their second major release via Portland label Little Cloud Records, featuring cover photography by famed artist Simon Larbalestier, well known for his work with Pixies and 4AD Records.

Written over the past year with Clone's original lineup of LG Galleon (Dead Leaf Echo), Gregg Giufree (Pilot to Gunner), Max Idas and Dominick Turi, this EP was produced by LG Galleon and Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Dresden Dolls) at his famed BC Studio (built together with Brian Eno), and mastered by Fred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Juliana Hatfield, Regina Spektor, Lloyd Cole).

"These songs were again recorded with the legendary Martin Bisi, who helped bring the determination and drive in the studio to the forefront when recording these songs. A different lineup makes for a novel live experience every time, yet always with incendiary results.  The full tour in October should prove a very fruitful experience and we are looking forward to playing these new songs from the EP live," says LG Galleon.

"The title track 'Care to Try' is a retribution song. A song that cries out for the disenfranchised and undersung people in the world whose voices are never heard above the drowning of the right wing nationalist leaders in this world. The spoken word bridge signals out to this issue with the line "with all charisma there is scorn, with every swoon another's heart will stammer slowly in submission. To Glimpse what could have been through the eyes of another."

Last year, Clone debuted their 'CL. 1' album and 12" vinyl LP, born from a seemingly lost wellspring of shared imagination and youthful transformative power, via Little Cloud and North Carolina's 5BC Records, previewed by the iconoclastic singles 'Immutable', 'Dividing Line' and 'Redeemer'.

A passionate attempt to revive the kind of music that once profoundly resonated with the isolated and vulnerable, Clone's music possesses a transformative power, capable of inspiring through its galvanizing, redemptive power. Drawing on the raw energy and boundless creativity of youth, Clone has created a personal sonic world that they now invite us all to experience.

As a live phenomenon, Clone currently includes LG Galleon, Paul Liziragga (Namesake), Alex Cox (The Veldt), and drummers Avery Brooks and Jeremy Duvall. The past few years. Clone has played SXSW and toured with Christian Death, Twin Tribes, Wand, La Witch, Live Skull and The Veldt.

The 'Care To Try' EP is out everywhere, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, and can also be had on '7” vinyl. Clone will be releasing a new full-length album in 2026.

Emerging Noise Project DISINTREGRATION ANNEX Debuts New EP via Decibel Magazine

Emerging noise project Disintegration Annex is now making its debut with 'Carving Arrows From Idols,' a three-song EP that blends harsh noise with ambience and elements of black metal. The offering can now be heard below.

Disintegration Annex is the one-man, metal-leaning noise and ambient project of Greg Kennelty. Disintegration Annex is meant to touch on the overarching ideas presented by extreme metal, but ultimately dish out the aural punishment in a freer, looser way.

Kennelty explains, "'Carving Arrows From Idols' is a three-track EP that deals with separate facets of anxiety and fear – weaponization of religious beliefs, sensory overload during particularly bad mental health days, and the fear of death being a disruptive force in everyday life. Carving Arrows From Idols was created during the writing sessions for the upcoming debut Disintegration Annex full-length, but these tracks ultimately felt like one cohesive unit that would be better served as a standalone release. Enjoy!"

The EP can be downloaded HERE.

All writing, production, mixing and mastering were handled entirely by Greg Kennelty.

The cover artwork is a woodcut painting titled "Hell (copy)," created after 1511, and is attributed to an unknown artist working in the style of Hans Baldung.

LAINEY WILSON PERFORMS SOLD-OUT SHOW AT NASHVILLE’S BRIDGESTONE ARENA

On the heels of being named host of the 59th Annual CMA Awards, Lainey Wilson performed a sold-out show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena last night as part of her extensive Whirlwind World Tour.

Wilson will return to Bridgestone on November 19 for the CMA Awards ceremony, where she is tied as the most-nominated artist with six nominations: Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year (Whirlwind), Single of the Year (“4x4xU”), Song of the Year (“4x4xU”) and Music Video of the Year (“Somewhere Over Laredo”).

The accolades are just the latest in a series of recent milestones for Wilson, who is highlighted on the 2025 TIME100 Next list, featured as the cover star of Southern Living’s November issue (read HERE) and confirmed to headline Stagecoach Festival this spring. Today, she also releases a new version of the holiday classic, “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,” with Bing Crosby—listen below.

Known for her electric live performances, Wilson will continue her Whirlwind World Tour through this fall including a sold-out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden next Friday, October 10, before embarking on an extensive headline run across Australia and New Zealand next year. See below for complete tour itinerary, full details can be found at www.laineywilson.com/tour.

Furthermore, Wilson released the deluxe version of her award-winning album, Whirlwind, earlier this summer via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville (stream/purchase HERE). In addition to Whirlwind’s original 14 songs, the new extended edition features five additional tracks: “Bell Bottoms Up,” “King Ranch, King George, King James,” “Yesterday, All Day, Every Day,” “Peace, Love, and Cowboys” and Somewhere Over Laredo,” which is currently Top 10 at country radio and continuing to climb.

Released to overwhelming attention from fans and critics alike, “Somewhere Over Laredo” was the most added song at country radio at impact and earned widespread praise from outlets such as CBS Mornings, Rolling Stone and Billboard, who called it “one of her most commanding, dynamic vocal performances to date, crescendo-ing from a soft-focus, tender vocal, before gradually reaching into her upper register for powerful moments that heighten the song’s emotional acuity.”

“The reigning current standard-bearer for women in country” (Variety), Wilson also won four awards at the 60th ACM Awards this past spring—Entertainer of the Year (her second consecutive win), Female Artist of the Year (her third consecutive win), Album of the Year (Whirlwind) and Artist-Songwriter of the Year—performed during last year’s Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Halftime Show and won two awards at the 58th CMA Awards, where she made her hosting debut alongside Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan. The 16x ACM, 9x CMA and Grammy Award-winner and Grand Ole Opry member is a prolific, sought-after songwriter who has scored eight #1 hits including “4x4xU,” “Wildflowers And Wild Horses,” “Watermelon Moonshine” and the 2x PLATINUM Certified “Heart Like A Truck,” in addition to award-winning collaborations with Cole Swindell (“Never Say Never”), Jelly Roll (“Save Me”) and HARDY (“wait in the truck”). Moreover, Wilson wrote and recorded “Out of Oklahoma” for the Twisters movie and has collaborated with artists such as Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Post Malone and more. She will also make her feature film acting debut in next year’s adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him, after first acting in Paramount’s hit television series, “Yellowstone.”

‘California Cowgirl’ Annie Bosko Delivers Debut Album

Annie Bosko’s roots run deep. Her grandfather and father worked the fields from sunup to sundown as she and her siblings spent their days husking corn in the California sun to a steady soundtrack of George Strait and Patsy Cline, while her mother introduced her to the soaring harmonies of the Judds, Deana Carter, Patty Loveless, Martina McBride and Shania Twain.

All of this echoes across California Cowgirl, her debut album of 80s/90s country explosion of shuffles, sweeping ballads and girl-powered anthems. Available now via QHMG/Stone Country Records, listen to California Cowgirl Below.

Supplementing her own production work with Tommy Simms (Eric Clapton’s GRAMMY- winning “Change the World”) and Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Green Day, P!nk), Trent Willmon and David ‘Messy’ Mescon brought California Cowgirlinto a solid country focus.

“Trent really helped build the foundation and recognized how traditional country I wanted to lean – he really supported that,” Bosko says of the man who produced Cody Johnson’s CMA Album of the Year Leather.

“With ‘Messy,’ it was taking that, but getting a little outside the box,” she adds. “He was experimental with the idea of mariachi horns and recognized why that was important to me. Because everyone knows ‘Ring of Fire,’ but ‘9 To 5’ wouldn’t be the song it was without the horns, either. So, he gave things a little twist to keep my old school country fresh.”

What emerges is a sound that’s so throwback, but so forward, it does feel fresh, as well as live and triumphant in the moment. Whether it’s her “Bright and Blue Sky,” a Haggard-esque love song wrapped in strings and steel guitar, or the plucky “Cowboy Up,” which spins the catchphrase into a good-natured get it together, these are ride-or-die songs for life’s unseen defining moments.

“The music doesn’t necessarily sound sad, but there’s vulnerability to some of the songs,” acknowledges Bosko. “I wanted to get back to real honesty, that tenderness and toughness that are the people listening to country. You can have the sass, the honky tonk, the fun stuff, but it’s also in the broken and the resilience, because those rings of emotion are all inside a woman.”

The project also features standout collaborations with Dwight Yoakam on “Heartburn” and Joe Nichols on their top 40 duet “Better Than You,” as well as “Old Friends” with Darius Rucker.

“That idea that you can’t make old friends is so true. I think about the people who knew me back when I’d show up at kids’ birthday parties singing ‘Part of Your World’ as the Little Mermaid,” Bosko confesses. “They know you better than anyone – and no matter how much time has passed, it's like you never missed a beat. That’s a rare friendship.

“And having Darius on this song makes it even more special; he’s been there for so many people through so many seasons, and he really sounds like what this song is about.”

From “Watch Me,” the back roads opening “hold my beer” anthem, and the stout Brooks & Dunn-evoking “Honky Tonk Heartbeat” to the playful, Mexican horn section and güiro punctuated “Tequila Time” and title track’s steel-drenched declaration of who she is, Bosko offers a 360 degree sense of what modern country can be, as well as defining a woman’s place in the notoriously macho genre.

Indeed, “Country Girls! (Who Runs The World)” is a stomping song written as much from need as celebration.

“I grew up going to rodeo events and I’ve sung at a lot of them,” explains Bosko. “There are girls out there with just as much grit, just as tough, and I asked myself, ‘Where’s the song for these girls?’ There wasn’t. So I wanted to write a girl hype song, something that calls out for them! This is one for the girls, by a girl.”

With a cover of Kris Kristofferson’s “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” which has garnered over 1 million streams on Pandora, she honors her roots.

“Every time I hear this, I’m in the passenger seat of my dad's truck, it transports me back to those fields,” she reveals “I can see it flying by, all that great classic country music he would play when I was a kid. Before I knew what any of it meant, I could hear the emotion.

“And it was like that with Shania, all the layers and truth – she got that from Dolly. They’re all country. They’re all real. That’s what I want.”

Bosko will hold her album release party tonight, October 3, at Desert 5 Spot in Los Angeles, followed by performances at Nashville’s Whiskey Jam on October 9 and Four Peaks Oktoberfest on October 10.

CYNIC Releases 'Focus: The Official Drum and Bass Tracks,' Out TODAY via Bandcamp

CYNIC will release 'Focus, The Official Drum and Bass Tracks' on Friday, October 3, exclusively on Bandcamp. For the first time, fans can hear Sean Malone’s bass and Sean Reinert’s drums in complete isolation from the band’s landmark era. This collection offers an intimate listen into the rhythmic heart of Cynic, revealing the nuance, interplay, and precision that shaped the group’s sound. Listen Below.

CYNIC guitarist and founding member Paul Masvidal comments, "These tracks let you sit inside what feels like an intimate conversation between two master musicians. Malone and Reinert created a foundation that remains vividly alive, existing in its own realm. This release honors their legacy and offers a glimpse into the heartbeat that carried Focus. And for drummers and bass players out there, it is a master class in progressive metal rhythm section work from true visionaries.”

'Focus' is the debut album by American progressive death metal band Cynic, released in 1993. It is renowned for its innovative blend of technical death metal with jazz fusion elements, featuring complex time signatures, philosophical lyrics, and prominent use of vocoder effects on the vocals. The album is considered a landmark in progressive metal, influencing countless bands with its unique sound and intricate musicianship.

This Friday's launch is taking place on Bandcamp Friday, an artist- driven initiative that began in March of 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic when the shuttering of venues led to a loss of vital tour revenue for artists. Since then, Bandcamp Fridays—on which Bandcamp waives its revenue share and passes the funds directly to artists & labels—has resulted in millions of fans paying over $120 million directly to labels and musicians they love. In addition to helping artists pay the rent, or fund album recordings and tours, Bandcamp Fridays have also become a beacon for artists and record labels looking to raise awareness for causes or raise money for charities.

Wind Walkers Release New EP 'I Don't Belong Here' + Share "Hereditary" Official Visualizer via Fearless Records

Genre-blending metalcore outfit Wind Walkers have today released their new EP 'I Don't Belong Here' (via Fearless Records), the band's latest body of work since their 2023 sophomore album 'What If I Break?'. In celebration of the news, the quintet has shared the official visualizer for their track "Hereditary". When asked about the inspiration behind the song, vocalist Trevor Borg commented:

"This song comes from some of my earliest memories of watching someone I loved change in ways I couldn’t understand. As a kid, you don’t have the power to fix it, you just kind of absorb it. The “shapeshifting” spoken of in the lyrics is about the ways people hide their pain, how they put on new faces to survive, and how that loss of self can be passed down. I wrote it to process how trauma can echo through generations. It’s a very personal song to me, but I think a lot of people know what it’s like to grow up in the shadow of someone else’s suffering and to feel that weight shape who you’ve become."

'I Don't Belong Here' is available now on all streaming platforms at the link here. Watch the official "Hereditary" visualizer below, and stay tuned for more Wind Walkers news coming soon.
