Once upon a time, nestled in a corner of the bustling city, there existed a magnificent amusement park named Marylane, which was operated by Marymaker the Clown. He was perceived by the public as both terrifying and captivating, and there were rumors that he possessed the ability to attract both light and darkness simultaneously, as if he were a master of duality. During the park's prime, one could hear the excited cheers of visitors from afar and the sound of carousels roaring under the summer sun. However, as the years went by, fewer and fewer people found the time to visit the amusement park, leaving Marymaker with a deep sense of abandonment.

 

The very thing that he had once been so passionate about now seemed to wither away and rely solely on artificial respiration. Filled with desperation, Marymaker embarked on a journey to find himself, only to encounter chaos and despair at every turn. One evening, while lost in his own thoughts, Marymaker overheard a group of people gathering on the Tivoli stage to compose music. There was one particular melody that caught his attention, as it exuded both sadness and hope. Intrigued, he felt compelled to venture out and discover the source of this captivating music. Motionless In White returned to the road this week on the headline The Sweat and Blood Tour, promoted by Live Nation. Lorna Shore, Fit For A King, and Static Dress will serve as support. The North American tour is the band's first American headlining tour in nearly three years and kicks off on July 14 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with stops in Charlotte, Houston, Austin, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, and more before wrapping up on August 15 in Sterling Heights, Michigan. It also includes a stop at Red Rocks, the band's first time headlining the venue.

But it doesn't stop there.

The second leg of The Sweat and Blood Tour will find Dayseeker serving as direct support. The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Divine will also appear. This leg fittingly kicks off the night before Halloween in Worcester and runs through November 20 in Pittsburgh.  All tickets are available here.

Texas alt-rock quartet Olive Vox return with their new single and official video “Hear Me Out”, out now via Big Machine Rock. Legendary Hard Rockers TESLA Release New Album 'Homage' — Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl

The acclaimed American hard rock band TESLA is proud to release their new album, 'Homage,' out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Marking a full-circle moment in their storied career, the album finds the band returning to their roots with a collection of covers honoring some of rock’s most timeless hits.

To celebrate the announcement, the band shares their rendition of The Temptations' 1967 classic, "I Wish It Would Rain." The track arrives alongside an official music video, available below.

"'I Wish It Would Rain' is a nod to one of the greatest singers of all time, David Ruffin. It's a great song, and I've always loved it. One of the things I'm most proud of about TESLA's version is that I think David Ruffin would be proud to hear Jeff sing it. He did an amazing job on this one. As far as the band goes, there are lots of bands that can play. I'm proud that TESLA has developed the maturity to know when not to play. With a song like this, it could've easily gone the other way. We could've overplayed it and added all kinds of extra parts that would've been too much. Instead, we stayed true to the original arrangement, with five guys playing very sparsely and letting Jeff's vocal carry the song."

It is remarkable to reflect on the more than 40 years since TESLA began as a cover band performing in California nightclubs before going on to write and record original material and sell millions of albums.

 

Much like their musical heroes — The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—artists who honed their craft by performing songs from those who came before them, TESLA followed a similar path in their early years and continues to embrace the tradition of paying tribute through cover songs today.

 

‘Homage,’ the band’s new album, not only honors legendary artists but also provides an opportunity to showcase lead singer Jeff Keith's vocal diversity. The album stands as a thank-you expressed through music, an offering to the iconic voices and songs that shaped the band’s influences and, ultimately, their own songwriting. 

 

'Homage' is not about imitation, but acknowledgment, tracing the line from influence to identity, from listening to becoming. The project also arrives more than 20 years after the ‘Real to Reel’ series, a release that helped inspire the creation of a new original TESLA song, “Never Alone.”

 

The selected songs on 'Homage' were chosen for a variety of reasons, primarily representing some of the greatest vocalists of all time, including Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, Etta James, and James Brown. Additional selections reflect songs the band grew up hearing on the radio and on their turntables.

"'Cold Blooded' is about confronting someone who has built themselves on deception and manipulation," says Perrone. "The lyrics in this song were written from the perspective of someone who has had enough of lies, excuses, and empty promises. There's a lot of frustration in realizing that someone you trusted isn’t capable of taking accountability and hides behind a false version of themselves. I think the aggression behind the song's instrumental is a good representation of that feeling as well."

He continues, "Writing this song was a really cool experience for all of us. We wrote this song with producer Hiram Hernandez in his studio in L.A. The session was incredible. Our good friend PINKNOISE was in the studio with us from the start of the instrumental writing process all the way to the end. We are all super fans of PINKNOISE and there's nothing more special than having their vocals on this song to commemorate the experience and our collaboration on this song. We are very excited to have this song in our arsenal and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it."

In 2024, SAGE released their debut EP, Heartwired, marking a major milestone in the band's journey. For Minute After Midnight, "It Was Never a Phase"

MINUTE AFTER MIDNIGHT, the brainchild of Derrick Ryan that sprouted from the fertile musical grounds of Nashville in 2016, is back with a new track, "It Was Never A Phase." Watch the video below. 

Minute After Midnight continues to welcome listeners into his world. Ryan has mastered the art of moody melodics that feel at once wholly intimate and crafted in a bedroom all the while sounding huge and ready for the main stage. When he declares, "What if I disappear? / What if I run away? / Would you still be here / Or would you just walk away?," his pain and passion is palpable in his vocal delivery. This anthem will have fans waving their arms back and forth while singing in unison. There's a fearlessness to Minute After Midnight's music, where peeling back the layers and exposing the nerve via music exists as the only therapy he needs.

Hunter Hawkins' "Seeking Release (reimagined by Kenny Loggins)" Available Now

Hunter Hawkins revisits one of their most personal songs with the release of “Seeking Release (reimagined by Kenny Loggins),” a sweeping new interpretation of the standout track from the 2021 EP Phase. Produced by Kenny Loggins, the recording expands the emotional scope of the original while preserving its deeply personal message, offering a powerful preview of Hawkins’ forthcoming full-length album. Following a series of difficult conversations with loved ones during a trip to visit extended family, Hunter was looking for space to process the feeling of not being heard or understood. They spent an afternoon alone along the shoreline in La Jolla, where, overlooking the Pacific and surrounded by sunbathing sea lions, they began writing the lyrics and melody for “Seeking Release.” Just days earlier, Hunter had received a scratch guitar track from soon-to-be co-writer Kevin Mahany as an invitation to collaborate. Listening to the recording through their phone, Hunter drafted lyrics in the Notes app and captured melodies in Voice Memos, laying the foundation for what would become one of the album's most personal songs.

Originally released on Phase, “Seeking Release” returns as “Seeking Release (reimagined by Kenny Loggins),” a complete reworking created for Hawkins’ forthcoming full-length album. Instead of simply revisiting the original recording, Hawkins and Loggins rebuilt the song from the ground up with new arrangements, musicians and instrumentation, transforming it into a cinematic centerpiece. String arrangements by Ben Plotnick and Kaitlyn Raitz deepen the song’s emotional impact, carrying it from quiet introspection to an uplifting sense of release.

“‘Seeking Release’ came from a time when I was trying to make sense of feeling unseen and unheard,” says Hawkins. “Writing it helped me realize that the answers I was searching for weren’t going to arrive from somewhere else. They had to come from choosing to let go, trust the process, and allow myself to feel everything instead of fighting it.”

Anchored by lyrics that wrestle with surrender, healing and the desire to be understood, “Seeking Release” asks difficult questions without settling for easy answers. As the song builds from intimate reflection to an expansive orchestral finale, it ultimately reminds listeners that peace often begins when we stop waiting for permission to embrace who we are.

BLACK SITES Release New Full Length For Eternity With Full Album Visualizer

Chicago's heavy quartet BLACK SITES present their fifth studio album, For Eternity. Released today, the band deliver impactful catchy choruses and lyrical hooks alongside a powerful riff-driven sound across the track list. 

For Eternity also marks a new chapter for BLACK SITES as founder Mark Sugar is now joined by an updated line-up. The new full length offering showcases a development in BLACK SITES's sound and sees the new members' contributions enhance the music's sonic quality.

For Eternity was produced by Mark Sugar & Chris Black, recorded at I Can’t Believe It’s Not Mace Street Studios, with mixing and mastering by Dan Swano. Drums on For Eternity were recorded by Vladimir Ružičić at Kebac Recording Studio.

Sugar was later joined by members John Picillo (bass), Ryan Bruchert (guitar) and Chris Avgerin (drums). BLACK SITES combines old school metal with guitar harmonies, melodic/clean vocals and progressive elements, primarily drawing inspiration from the likes of VOIVOD, BLACK SABBATH, and KING’S X.

BLACK SITES released their debut In Monochrome in 2017 (Mascot/Provogue Records), followed by Exile in 2019. 2021 saw the release of Untrue that was produced by Sanford Parker and awarded Record Of the Year by Dr. A.N. Grier at AngryMetalGuy.com. BLACK SITES ventured to The Promised Land? with their 2024 full-length that featured Tom Draper. (Ex-CARCASS/SPIRIT ADRIFT) on the track "Chasing Eternity".

Now, in 2026, Mark Sugar is joined by new members Jose Salazar (bass), Lee Smith (guitar) and Chris Black (drums). The forthcoming album For Eternity is set to release independently on July 17, 2026.

Alt-metal quintet coldrain (Nagoya, Japan) make their global return with their long awaited eighth full-length album “OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE”, set for release on September 25th, 2026, via Century Media Records. The album announcement is paired with the release of their new single “EX-HUMANITY,” which marks the sixth track unveiled from the upcoming album and the band's first new song since the release of the “OPTIMIZE” EP on October 24th, 2025. The title OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE is itself a warning: a caution against a world in which the rise of AI has come to symbolize humanity’s growing confusion over what it means to be human. More than a framework of “against AI” or “against technology,” this album calls for the liberation of the soul in response to a world that is steadily being bleached of color, and to the brutality of people who, having stopped thinking for themselves, continue to hurt one another. That is the reason coldrain continues to fight. And OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE is the album where that essence appears more youthful, pure, and unfiltered than ever before - a human fuse burning toward ignition.

Coldrain, the quintet that is about to release their 8th album, first emerged in Japan in 2007, proudly identifying themselves as a “loud rock” band. Their songwriting, heavily influenced by the nu-metal and emo/screamo movements of the 2000s, resonated directly with the youth culture of America at the time. Yet in the Japanese rock scene of that era, “loud music” was still largely associated with melodic punk and pop-punk. As a result of that advance, coldrain absorbed musical elements far beyond nu-metal and screamo alone. While maintaining melodies that carried a distinctly Japanese sense of emotion, they transformed into a chimera capable of crossing through every subgenre of rock. Their ability to be both heavy and endlessly pop became their greatest weapon.

Now, especially since joining forces with Century Media Records, the very fact that their music cannot be defined by a single attribute - and the very “in-between” quality of their style - has become a musical identity unconstrained by borders or genres, radiating an originality that stands among the strongest in the world. 

coldrain are a band whose lives were changed by music that could never have been born in Japan, and yet they themselves are a hybrid that could only have emerged from the Galápagos-like environment of Japan. That is coldrain. Rather than needing to acquire a new place, coldrain were able to turn simply “being themselves” into music in its most unfiltered form. As a result, OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE is pierced throughout by a youthful rawness that feels almost impossible for a band nearing twenty years since its formation.
