Blackened Death Metal act THE NOCTAMBULANT Unveil "Hell Ride - The Second Death"

Drawing from the raw bloodlines of blues, rockabilly, goth rock, and American country, Florida's THE NOCTAMBULANT throw open the doors to the void in their new single "Hell Ride - The Second Death". Following their 2021 release “Hellrazor” and European tour with HATE and VADER, THE NOCTAMBULANT return having solidified their distinctive approach.

Smoke and fire choke the air as an unnamed preacher leads his flock—not to redemption, but into the jaws of the abyss. In "Hell Ride - The Second Death" Hammond organs shriek like wounded spirits, sermons curdle into threats, and guitars hammer the final nails into coffins of false hope. Here, salvation is a lie and belief is a death sentence.

In 2013, THE NOCTAMBULANT formed in Jacksonville, Florida, with a mission to spread the culture of Southern Appalachia through their unique interpretation of black metal. Merging the genre’s primal aggression with the crushing weight of blackened death metal and the haunting atmospherics of Southern Gothic, they sought to honor the myths, spirits, and eerie folklore of the region.

Founded by E. Helvete (Guitars, Vocals) and D. Franseth (Drums) following the breakup of their psychobilly band, THE NOCTAMBULANT emerged as they delved into the darker realms of black metal. With the addition of Lars Goerschafft (Bass) and, later, Rev Beaumont (Guitar), the band fully embraced a sound that merges relentless intensity with ghostly Appalachian storytelling, crafting an auditory spell of sorrow, brutality, and mysticism.

Their music weaves a sonic tapestry of feral blackened riffs, ominous melodies, and immersive soundscapes steeped in spectral Appalachian lore. CORONER Announces New Album 'Dissonance Theory,' Unleashes Music Video for First Single, "Renewal"

After more than three decades, Swiss technical thrash pioneer CORONER will be releasing a long-anticipated studio album, 'Dissonance Theory,' on October 17, 2025 via Century Media Records! Pre-orders are now live HERE.

To celebrate the forthcoming opus, the band is now unleashing the ferocious first single, "Renewal," along with a music video! The clip was directed by Dariusz Szermanowicz and can be found below.

 

Coroner’s guitarist, songwriter, and producer Tommy Vetterli comments on the new music, “I thought a lot about what Coroner should sound like today, but I pretty quickly realized that looking backwards wouldn’t serve us. Of course, over time you develop a certain signature as a musician. So even if the material is new, it might still feel like a bridge to earlier phases - simply because it’s me writing it.

"That said, we didn’t set out to continue a legacy. We just wanted to create something honest and grounded in the present. ‘Renewal’ now opens the chapter for what became the first Coroner album I’m fully satisfied with, start to finish. So we’ll let the music speak for itself - you’ll know if it speaks to you.”

'Dissonance Theory' contains ten new songs across 47 minutes, recorded by Tommy Vetterli at New Sound Studios in Switzerland and mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden (Opeth, Kreator, Amon Amarth, etc.).

'Dissonance Theory,' in totality, is rich in sonic detail, a stereophile’s delight. Part of that can be attributed to the expert mixing/mastering by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. But the production, arrangement and soundscape details are largely the work of Vetterli and a longtime creative partner at his own New Sound studio. Vetterli notes, “At some point, I felt something was missing — a kind of creative counterweight. Someone to reflect things back with a fresh, critical ear. That’s when I brought in a longtime collaborator I’ve worked with for years at my studio. He helped push things into new territory and gave me the clarity and momentum Dissonance Theory needed to move forward. We made a point throughout the production to record as many authentic, organic sounds as possible. The studio was packed with tube amps, analog synths, and vintage instruments — including a harmonium and a grand piano — and we put them all to good use. We've worked together on many other productions, so the trust was already there. We get into that whole collaboration — and how it evolved — more deeply in the CD mediabook edition.” 

Coroner are offering a work that proves they know themselves and what their band should sound like. No Coroner fan could possibly be disappointed in Dissonance Theory. It’s like a massive bonus from a band we all thought had spent their creative energies decades ago. “They don’t make albums like this anymore”. Ever heard that one? Coroner proves they were not only always in metal’s top tier, but that anything less than a ferocious return such as this would never have been the Coroner way.

Morgan Wallen Foundation Celebrates Re-Opening of Historic Parkwood Ballpark

Morgan Wallen, through his Morgan Wallen Foundation, along with Major League Baseball & MLB Players Association Youth Development Foundation (MLB-MLBPA YDF) and other local funders, partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville to unveil the newly revitalized historic baseball and softball complex, Parkwood Community Club, in north Nashville on Wednesday (Aug. 13). The renovation project for the ballfields includes new field turf, Musco lights, fences, dugouts, scoreboards, parking, concrete and roadways for two youth fields.
 
The project has been a two-year-long effort following MWF’s $500k donation in 2023. This ballfield renovation is part of a broader community effort led by Habitat for Humanity, which encompasses the creation of a 59-acre Metro Park and the construction of 26 Habitat homes.
 
“Growing up, I spent countless hours out on the diamond. Those hours taught me life lessons I still hold close today and helped me realize the value baseball can have on youth,” said Wallen. “Being a part of this project and revitalizing these Parkwood fields - right here in Nashville - to ensure the kids have a place to play for many years to come is something I am really proud of.”
 
“Revitalizing these ballfields was a massive team effort led by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, and we couldn't be more thrilled to see them in fighting form for hundreds of kids to enjoy and play ball. It's a dream come true,” adds Kathleen Flaherty, Executive Director of MWF. “This was the foundation’s first field restoration grant and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”
 
To commemorate MWF’s donation, two of the fields have been named in Wallen’s honor: Boots Field, named after his Mamaw Boots, who he was extremely close to; and Norris Field, named for Norris Lake in Norris, Tennessee, where Wallen spent time growing up.
 
The Parkwood Community Club has produced notable athletes, including Mookie Betts and Golden Tate. It was the site of Nashville’s first integrated baseball games in the 1970s, and in the 1980s, Parkwood became Tennessee’s first athletic club to be owned and operated by a minority Board—one of only five in the U.S.
 
This year, the revitalized fields inspired three Parkwood teams to reach state competitions. Several teams competed in the Dixie Youth World Series, including The Parkwood All Stars, who placed third out of 42 teams.

Disciples of Verity, fronted by the iconic singer Corey Glover of Living Colour, have unleashed their brand-new single, “In My Eyes,” along with an accompanying lyric video. The track is available now via TLG | ZOID, with distribution through Virgin Music Group.

 

The track is the latest preview from their highly anticipated sophomore album, NEXUS, produced by George Pond and co-produced by Sahaj Ticotin (RA).

Fueled by an insatiable urge to create and collaborate, this heavy metal incarnation seeks to challenge all that they believe to be true with their project, Disciples of Verity (DOV). LORNA SHORE’s “Prison Of Flesh” Single & Music Video Out Today, From New Album ”I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me” Coming Sept 12;

Lorna Shore’s latest single “Prison Of Flesh” (out today) is one of the metal band’s heaviest to date, fueled by vocalist/lyricist Will Ramos’ raw feelings about his family’s history with dementia and the toll it takes on the person and those around them. Says Ramos of the deeply personal new track, “This song is exactly what I imagine a lot of people expected of us to put out. We took all the heaviest stuff we had to create this incredibly dark, high-stress/tension song. I personally think the breakdown at the end of this is one of my favorites that we’ve ever written and I’m excited to see how people engage with this one.”

 

Ramos adds, “The lyrics for this song are about my family and our history of dementia. The idea that the world is falling apart, and about the fear of losing touch with reality. ‘They’re coming to get me’ is my way of personifying ‘demons’ or something that makes you feel like you’re losing pieces of yourself. The closer they get, the further detached you become until you’re nothing but a husk of fear and delusion.”

 

“Prison Of Flesh” follows the release of “Oblivion” and “Unbreakable,” all hailing from the band’s upcoming album I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me, out September 12 via Century Media Records. Hunter Oliveri Shares Visualizer for New Single "Make U Cry"

Hunter Oliveri, the Gen Alpha talent who has been steadily buzzing and creating a name for himself since his early teen years, will release his debut album TEEN SLUG on September 19 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

The song is, in its simplest form, about the dish best served cold — revenge.

Oliveri, whose early single "Kids" was tipped by Pigeons + Planes, crafts songs that channel the alternative and grunge blueprint of his musical heroes — like Chris Cornell and Soundgarden, Billy Corgan and the Smashing Pumpkins — imbued with the playful opaqueness of Kurt Cobain's lyricism and the easy slacker hooks of Weezer. His music speaks to the messiness of growing up. It sounds exactly like that, too. He simply writes what he knows. 
 
There are songs about partying too hard and songs about loving too much; songs about last night's headrush highs and the morning-after's anxious comedown. There are songs for when you seek the comfort of relatability, and there are songs for when you want to simply say "fuck it all." They are the product of the humble authenticity of someone who's grown up in a place no different to a million others the world over. Most have never heard of Paso Robles, CA, and might never again. There's sunshine, strip malls, and vineyards that outnumber venues 10 to 1, where the nearby underground music scene of San Luis Obispo a few miles down the road is more accessible than anything resembling the bright lights of L.A. two hours to the south or San Francisco up north. "It's a boring city, but we make the most of it," Oliveri shrugs. "We'll go skating, or hang out and smoke. And anyway, it's fun to go moshing in someone's basement."
 
It's no surprise, then, that Oliveri is used to creating more interesting scenes than those that existed outside his window. As a kid, he would do so in the stories he dreamt up in his bedroom. "I like writing stories about worlds I'd want to live in," he says, "which made my own world seem so much bigger."
 
Such creativity inevitably morphed into songwriting in his early teenage years — though music had long since embedded itself within him. "I was probably four years old when I first heard 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' around my parents’ house," he recalls of music's omnipresence in his life. "I never knew the name of the song but every time I heard it, I'd be like, shit, it's that song. It would give me this majestic feeling." He laughs that his mom holds a video recording of her son gamely plucking through a rendition of a Metallica song (it was the epic "One") at his Kindergarten graduation performance. His dad — an avid fan of Korn and Tool — meanwhile tells him that his parents met at Woodstock; not the peace-and-love of Woodstock '69, but, more aptly, the confusion-and-chaos of Woodstock '99.
 
A chance meeting at age 14 with a local producer's father while in a coffee shop with his grandpa was the first domino to fall in Oliveri's music story. The rest is a history still to be written. "I've been so incredibly lucky, but I've manifested this, too," he says. "I've always known writing music would be my life. I just had to make it happen. It was hard to find kids around my city that played instruments and wanted to be in a band, but I've been writing songs every day in my bedroom since I was maybe 13 years old. It takes me to a different place."
  
"I want to bring people into my world through my music," he adds. "I want people to feel something when they listen to my music, and to relate to me, and for me to be a friend and an outlet for them."

Myles Morgan Signs with WME for Global Representation

Rising country artist Myles Morgan has signed with WME, the world’s leading entertainment agency, for global representation across all areas.

A Birmingham, Alabama native, Morgan blends heartfelt storytelling with Southern grit and charm. Today, the track returns with a bold, modern sound as Rage are releasing "Straight To Hell ’25" — a re-imagined metal classic for the cinema premiere of Manitou's Canoe, the sequel to Michael "Bully" Herbig's legendary hit Manitou's Shoe.


Essentially, it's a powerful new version of the original.

With "Straight To Hell '25," Rage bridge the gap between past and present — delivering the perfect metal soundtrack for a cinema event destined for cult status. The song is also included on the upcoming studio album A New World Rising.

Austin, Texas-based blackened speed metal unit SADISTIC FORCE are proud to release their ferocious new single "Portrait of Torment" taken from their upcoming EP, 'Morbid Odyssey,' due out August 22nd. The brutal new NSFW video below!

"Portrait of Torment" features a synth intro and guitar solo by Mark Pursino of Electrocutioner and arrives alongside a full narrative NSFW music video premiering on Metal Sucks featuring Indira Starr (Minnie's Midnight Massacre) and was shot by Pennyrock Productions (Bloody & Bruised), available to view below.

SADISTIC FORCE comments on the single:

"The synth intro to ‘Portrait Of Torment’ and the guitar solo were both performed by Mark Pursino from NYC thrash trio Electrocutioner. He based the feel of his contributions off the lyrics, which portray the twisted thoughts of a serial killer who believes that his victim’s mangled bodies are his canvas and he is an artist who creates beauty through murder. In typical SADISTIC FORCE fashion, the song draws from a wide array of riff driven influences, from black metal to classic rock."

Mark Pursino comments on his contribution:

"James asked me to do a solo for 'Portrait of Torment' and simply told me, ‘The lyric right before the solo section is 'Crescendo of blood I must create.’ Then he said if I felt inspired by it, he wouldn't mind a synth intro either. We did the synth intro on 'Midnight Assassin' and I loved the idea of keeping that thread going with the synth. After reading the lyrics and hearing the demo, it reminded me of the novel Perfume, where a man with a supernatural sense of scent ends of murdering a girl who smelled the most beautiful. I just envisioned some distinguished gentleman chopping up some wonderful ladies and the synth intro is my imagining of what he listens to while he dissects them. I combined a mysterious arpeggio with some type of respirator/breathing tube sound effect to make it feel a inhuman and disconnected. The solo actually came to me pretty fast. There's a few changes in rhythm underneath it so I wanted to have different voices.”

Ray Hawthorne & Oliver vs. Godzilla-Sized Elmo + New Album Out Today!

In the brand new video for "The Reel You", Ray Hawthorne and his real-life dog, Oliver, trade guitars for capes, transforming into animated superheroes locked in a battle against a towering, Godzilla-sized Elmo. It's absurd, action-packed, and exactly the kind of chaotic fun that fans have come to expect from Hawthorne.

Blending heartbreak, sarcasm, and just the right amount of emotional stability, this record marks a new chapter for Ray Hawthorne. Where debut album and his firstborn, "Ray Hawthorne Sucks", leaned into earnest DIY vulnerability, his latest record, "Ray Hawthorne Isn't Real", takes a turn and taps into the restless defiance of a secondborn. Across 15 brand new tracks, Hawthorne delivers emotional candor that perfectly captures what it feels like to scream into the void, only to realize the void is singing back.

Somewhere between saving the city from a Godzilla-sized Elmo and making sure Oliver's cape stayed on straight, Ray Hawthorne took a breather to share:

"You know what? Sometimes I just wanna be messy. I wanna lay out all of my biggest regrets in overly distorted ways that make my throat hurt. I wanna be so fucking real about what I’m feeling that it’s almost off putting. Like “Trauma Dump - The Album”. But I also just wanna play Yu-Gi-Oh and hang out with my dog. So I’m trying to find a middle ground. I’m sure the next album will be cleaner and prettier, maybe a little less chaotic. But this shit is messy, distorted, chaos, and I think I really needed it to be that way.”

Renowned for his work in North Kingsley, the acclaimed project alongside Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down, Hawthorne initially captured hearts as the Heartbreak Hero with his inaugural solo release "Heartbreak Feels Good in a Place Like This". Do you remember that episode of Degrassi where Ashley really wants Craig to tell her he loves her, but Craig gets all panicked and can’t tell her that he does? It causes so much drama in their relationship. She begins to question her feelings for him and because of that, he becomes seemingly unsure of his feelings for her. So, in an effort to quell the bad vibes, Craig writes a song that includes lyrics IMPLICITLY AND EXPLICITLY stating that he loves her. (Total banger by the way, the only song of his I like better is the one he sings at the battle of the bands after the two inevitably break up, it’s also about Ashley. I believe it’s called ‘What I Know’) Anyway, Craig was only able to admit he loved Ashley in song form, but you as the viewer are left wondering ‘Does he really love her, or was this just his solution to end the drama?’ Or, ’Is this truly the only way he can express himself because he’s kind of nervous about speaking his true feelings outside of the structured environment of a song?’. I tend to believe it’s a mixture of both. So what I’m trying to say is, this collection of songs is kind of like that. I always feel like I have so much to say but often feel a bit too vulnerable when discussing my actual feelings. So for the majority of my life, I’ve just written them into songs instead. These songs can be quite vulnerable even if they seem silly at times. So now you’re left to wonder... am I telling the truth or just trying to get rid of Ashley’s bad vibes?

How Stoned Jesus Wrote "Shadowland"

Stoned Jesus have already made their mark as true trailblazers, but with their new album, these pilgrims of heavy progressive rock are embarking on their most expansive journey yet. The lead single from Songs to Sun opens with one of the band's doomiest riffs. Though as revealed by frontman Igor Sydorenko, "Shadowland" gleams with surprising twists and hidden hooks.

Today, Igor is releasing a new video that shows how to play and how he wrote "Shadowland". By taking a microdose of "big dumb riffs", inspiration from Prince to Slipknot, and a page out of their own songbook, the band wound up with a mesmerizing chorus that fans will be shouting ahead of their upcoming shows across Europe, Australia and Latin America.
