LANIE GARDNER ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE ALBUM FADED POLAROIDS, DUE SEPTEMBER 5

Named by the Recording Academy as a “2025 Artist to Watch,” Lanie Gardner has officially announced her highly anticipated sophomore album Faded Polaroids, set for release on September 5 via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Alongside the announcement, the North Carolina native has released the album’s powerful lead song, “High Divin,’” featuring legendary Fleetwood Mac co-founder Mick Fleetwood on the drums. A full-circle moment for the 25-year-old artist — whose breakout came from a viral cover of “Dreams” (now at over 100M views) — “High Divin’” is an atmospheric anthem with a heart of self-reflection. Wrapped in shimmering guitars and soaring vocals, it captures the emotional leap of the journey of self-sabotage, while honoring the path that led her there.


“It’s one of the most important songs on the album for me,” Gardner shares. “I was going through a pretty rough patch and needed to give myself a little tough love.”


Produced by Oscar Charles, Jonathan Singleton, Chris Ganoudis and Don Miggs, Faded Polaroids expands on the raw honesty of Gardner’s 2024 debut A Songwriter’s Diary, offering a sonic scrapbook of self-discovery, family roots, romantic twists, and personal healing. Across 18 tracks, Gardner blends country storytelling with indie-rock grit, small-town pop, and boundary-free emotion — a genre-bending vision uniquely.


“I created the idea of Faded Polaroids using actual polaroids. Some brand new, others nicotine-stained, withered, torn and worn from being passed down through the years,” says Gardner. “It felt like zooming out on my whole life and finally seeing the bigger picture. These snapshots — these songs — are the most beautiful parts of me. They tell the story of where I come from, who I come from, what I’ve learned and who I’m becoming. I hope these songs encourage people to take the time to make their own version of that too. I think it’s important that we all do.”


Born and raised in the tiny Appalachian mountain town of Burnsville, NC, Gardner grew up in a family of natural musicians, learning to sing from her mother and guitar from her father. Drop Dead, Gorgeous Release New Single "6 Feet" via The Artery Foundation

After more than 15 years, Denver metalcore pioneers Drop Dead, Gorgeous have officially returned with a brand new single, “Six Feet,” along with the announcement of the return of The Artery Foundation (label)—the original driving force behind the genre. Accompanied by a gripping music video that premiered exclusively on Revolver Magazine, the track marks a powerful new chapter for the band, who reunite with three original members.

 

“It’s been over 15 years, and ‘Six Feet’ felt like the right way to come back — intense, honest, and unapologetic. We’re not trying to recreate the past, just push things forward in a way that still feels true to who we are," shares the band.

 

The return of Drop Dead, Gorgeous is not only a monumental moment for fans, but also for the team behind The Artery Foundation, which helped launch the band’s early career.

They were teenagers from Denver with chaotic angst, huge hooks, breakdowns, and something to say. At the height of the post-hardcore and so-called “emo” explosion of the mid-2000s (which saw My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Avenged Sevenfold reach massive heights), Drop Dead, Gorgeous carved out new synth-soaked pathways with unmistakable vocals and unhinged emotion. 

 

Drop Dead, Gorgeous returns in 2025 with their first new music in over a decade. Produced by Elliot Polokoff and mastered by longtime collaborator Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping With Sirens, Get Scared), “Six Feet” recaptures their signature tension—hooky, hostile, and cinematic. The band isn’t trying to relive their past, but they aren’t running from it, either. Drop Dead, Gorgeous may have gone quiet for a time, but their impact never faded. Now, with fresh music and sharpened vision, they’re writing a new chapter—not as nostalgia, but as an experienced and focused continuation of what they started.

 

Their 2006 full-length debut, In Vogue, a touchstone release for Rise Records, inspired many like-minded kids to form bands with its theatricality and authentic confessional attitude. Singer Daniel “Stills” Stillman gave a literal voice to fans who connected to the band’s combination of bombast and charisma. “We were just these young kids who were thrown into our dream,” remembers bassist Jake Hansen, who notes that drummer Danny Cooper was only 15 years old. “I was the oldest, at just 18.” 

 

“We didn’t know anything about song structure or how a band was supposed to function back then,” says Stills. “We just wrote what felt right, and that honesty ended up being what connected.”

 

In Vogue didn’t just tap into the moment; it helped define it. “I first heard Drop Dead, Gorgeous on a Rise Records sampler,” Counterparts vocalist Brendan Murphy told VICE in a loving ten-year retrospective. “Seems shortly after that, everyone’s MySpace song was ‘Dressed for Friend Requests.’ Kids ate it up because of the seemingly perfect balance between screaming and catchy choruses.” 

 

Ex-Geffen Records CEO Jordan Schur brought them to Suretone Records, a joint venture with Interscope that became home to Weezer, New Found Glory, The Cure, From First To Last, and the late Chris Cornell. The result was the dark concept album Worse Than a Fairy Tale (2007), produced by nü-metal pioneer Ross Robinson (Korn, Slipknot, At The Drive-In). The band played the Vans Warped Tour the same year, and with The Used and Rise Against on Taste of Chaos in Australia and New Zealand. 

 

Drop Dead, Gorgeous collaborated with producer Matt Goldman (Underoath, Anberlin, Meg & Dia) on The Hot N’ Heavy (2009). With additional production from The Chariot’s Josh Scogin and mixing by Saison guitarist Beau Burchell, The Hot N’ Heavy achieved the band’s biggest chart success while merging the sound of their debut album with more polished aggression and metalcore intensity. 

 

But the whirlwind took its toll. By 2011, the band had quietly disappeared. 

Stills and Cooper returned to Rise Records with Bleach Blonde, a band combining pop-rock and alternative elements. As synth duo 888, the pair saw strong streaming success with the title track of their Island Records EP, Critical Mistakes (2016). Sadly, guitarist Kyle Browning passed away in 2021. 

“I didn’t think I’d ever want to play in a heavy band again,” Stills says. “But after a while, we had that itch we wanted to scratch. It surprised me how much I missed it.” The core trio of Stills, Cooper, and Hansen reconvened with a string of well-received surprise reunion shows in late 2024 and 2025. 

 

The sonic shadow of Drop Dead, Gorgeous looms large across a slew of successful bands who continued in their wake. With the band fully resurrected, their comeback is about legacy and unfinished business, viewed through the lens of experience and pure intentions.  “We just want to do something honest,” Stills reaffirms. “We don’t want to make music that doesn’t feel real to us.”

The Denver-based genre fusing metal quartet CRONOS COMPULSION is preparing to unveil their forthcoming album Lawgiver. Known for their crushing riffs, frenzied rhythms, and a genre-defying blend of death-doom, chaotic metal, and noise-laced breakdowns, CRONOS COMPULSION is ready with a new line-up to enter their next chapter. The album, set for release on July 11th on digital, CD and LP via Avantgarde Music death metal division Unorthodox Emanations, is a scathing critique of late-stage capitalism as well as humanity’s basest instincts.

Lawgiver, CRONOS COMPULSION's debut album, has been several years in the making and features a revised track from 2021’s Cursed and Decaying EP, “Neolithic Meditations,” and eight other tracks of all-new material. "We’ve been playing these songs live for quite some time now so we’ve managed to distill this down into what we think is a solid first full-length", says vocalist and guitarist Wil Wilson.

CRONOS COMPULSION hold nothing back in this terrorizing onslaught. A deafening wall of sound awaits in the album's opener "Obligate Condition". Demonic gutturals spearhead a fury of obliterating distortion fueled instruments in a thrilling onslaught of the dark and heavy. CRONOS COMPULSION ensure that no moment of peace can be found amidst the shadowy voyage undertaken across Lawgiver's track list. "Gyre of Decaying Filth" brings an injection of groove and intrigue while "Ancestral Remains" showcases technical riffs. 

"Neolithic Meditations" presents a discordant fury manifesting through rhythmic progressions in an unceasing attack. CRONOS COMPULSION's genre-fusion sound is revealed in its fully untamed form in the title track, "Lawgiver". Lashings of distorted fuzz, rhythmic elements, gutturals and dissonant textural layers result in a ferociously intense sound. Lawgiver draws to a close with the restless "Incursion of Deific Chaos".

Ascension’s album cover fittingly features the painting The Court of Death (1870-1902) by renowned British artist George Frederic Watts, which hangs in the Tate Gallery in London. The painting depicts Death as an enthroned angel flanked by allegorical figures of Silence and Mystery guarding sunrise and the star of hope, while a warrior surrenders his sword and a duke his coronet, showing that worldly status offers no protection. The painting’s bleak, prophetic vision embodies Ascension’s dark, tormented soundscapes as mournful verses collide with dire, foreboding riffs.

The live set also includes other Genesis & solo classics, including music from his most recent acclaimed album ‘The Circus And The Nightwhale’. This special evening saw the band joined by guests including Ray Wilson, Steve Rothery, Amanda Lehmann & John Hackett.

Colorblind Share "Letdown" + "Misery Loves Company"Double Single

Austin, Texas quartet Colorblind — vocalist Travis Moseley, drummer Tyler Moseley, bassist Nicholas Asper, and guitarist Justin Page — have just dropped new double single "Letdown" and "Misery Loves Company." Because twice is nice!

"Letdown" explores "the inner conflict of still caring for someone who consistently hurts and disappoints you," shares Moseley. "Despite the pain, there's a lingering attachment — the feeling that the other person might be a missing piece — but that connection is built on illusions, lies, and emotional neglect." 

Regarding "Misery Loves Company," the singer explains, "This song is about the slow unraveling that happens when you’re caught in someone else's darkness — how love turns into survival, and how pain shared doesn’t always mean pain healed. Will Jones Signs With WME For Global Representation

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Will Jones signs with WME, the world’s leading entertainment agency, for global representation across all areas.

105 Million Kenny Chesney Fans Can't Be Wrong

When you’re busy moving forward, it’s easy to forget keeping score. Kenny Chesney, the Country Music Hall of Fame electee who just wrapped a full-immersion residency at Vegas’ Sphere, built a career on the quality of the songs and how they resonate with No Shoes Nation as he continually sought to find songs that were better than what he’d already done.

The release of “The Great Unknown” follows weeks of escalating online speculation surrounding frontman Spencer Charnas’ increasingly cryptic and eerily odd behavior. What began as an unforced marketing misfire quickly snowballed into full-blown internet hysteria, as fans, critics, and commentators dissected increasingly uncanny social posts. Rumors have been swirling that Spencer has been replaced by a highly advanced, if often glitching, artificial intelligence, a notion that first gained traction when longtime Ice Nine Kills antagonist, author and onetime O.J. “The Great Unknown” welcomes Joel David Moore (Grandma’s Boy, Dodgeball, Avatar) into the INKverse. How much do clothes cost in the simulation? Joel is the only robot legged machine-man who knows for sure. BABYLON A.D. isn’t sitting back on the success of their last album “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day”, they spent early 2025 in the studio recording their follow up album WHEN THE WORLD STOPS and are now excited to announce they signed a deal with Kivel Records for the release of the new album before the end of 2025.

Pennsylvania artists Robin Ross & The TW Howlers present their new single 'Whiskey and Ice'. Set in New Orleans, this is an upbeat track about battening down the hatches and getting ready for whatever comes your way. Robin Ross & The TW Howlers recently released their debut EP 'Back To The Forest', a tale of two rockers walking with nature and truth, living life to the fullest. The narrative skillfully blends personal unease with the impending external disaster, shifting from a sense of being overwhelmed to a determined call for action – to "put out the sandbags" and "clean up our house." Ultimately, it's a compelling exploration of resilience, finding a way to feel "right" and "set free" even as the world around them threatens to shut down, highlighting the human need for both escape and resolve in the face of adversity.

With a musical foundation that started in New Jersey and New York in 1988, Robin Ross has since established himself in the bustling artistic community of Milford, Pennsylvania, A musician, songwriter, and producer known for diverse musical endeavors spanning over three decades, he has released five albums, holds an audio engineering degree and has played a pivotal role in the creation of several recording studios, including Triple R Studios and Sound Complex near New York City.

With a storied history of performing all over the United States, TW Howell is a folk-blues musician, whose style of music seamlessly blends these genres together with hints of rock. Writing and performing music his whole life, TW's music career launched in Florida on a trajectory that has zig-zagged  throughout the country. He too considers the Lake Champlain area and the Poconos as his home base.  

Recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studios in Milford, this album was produced and engineered by Robin Ross with Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn) serving as supervising engineer. Ross and Howell are joined on this album by their extended musical family of Wharton Tiers on drums and back vocalists Joellen (JoJo) Gaetani, Nancy Isola and Kristin Grazevich.

Back To The Forest is more than an album; it's a sonic bath, a meticulously crafted immersion where the exhilarating pulse of good-vibed rock and roll converges with the serene power of pure forest energy. Each track is designed to envelop you, gently yet powerfully elevating your personal vibration and tuning you into a deeper sense of well-being. In the early 1990s, Robin co-founded the band Laughing Jack, later rebranded as Jack’s Maze, which gained acclaim for a progressive rock sound reminiscent of such iconic bands as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. But, as occurs for many artists, life and business took him in a different direction.

In 2021, with rekindled passion, Robin embarked on new projects, including Robin Ross & The Melodynes, a collaboration with Wharton Tiers, Joe Torres and Joellen (JoJo) Gaetani that infuses the retro vibe of classic rock with modern sensibilities and more contemporary influences. Robin also regrouped with Jack's Maze members Frank Cinquegrana, Scott Cowan, and Joe Torres to create new progressive rock albums.

Dedicated to the art of music production and performance, Robin finds joy in the creative process and the connections it fosters with fellow musicians and audiences alike. Impureza Premiere New Album 'Alcázares'

Impureza first lit the torch for flamenco death metal more than a decade ago. But the band’s new album finds these conquistadors charging to the front line of extreme metal armed with crushing riffs, brutal growls, fiery acoustic flourishes and daring classical orchestra.

Conceptually rooted in the Spanish Reconquista, Alcázares unfolds as a fantastical and historic epic. The album channels the collapse of Islamic Iberia and the merciless rise of Christian dominion. Impureza fuse brutal death metal with flamenco guitar, orchestral arrangements and Spanish growls into a sonic Alcázar, where the sacred and savage co-exist.

Lead single “Pestilencia” zooms in on the Black Death’s march across Hispania. Riffing tremolos and hammer-blown blast beats lock horns with bulería-tinged acoustic guitar that flare upon castle stone. Amidst desert heat, “La Orden del Yelmo Negro” ignites in a blaze of riffs, flamenco flourishes and drum fill fury. Opener “Verdiales” pays a fleet-fingered tribute to the folk traditions of Málaga. Then with the draw of their axe blades, “Bajo las Tizonas de Toledo” sparks a blistering retelling of the legendary Spanish hero El Cid.

Recorded and mixed by Sébastien Camhi at Studio Artmusic  and mastered by Jacob Hansen, Alcázares is elevated by guest contributions from Xavier Hamon (percussion) and Louis Viallet (orchestration).

With Alcázares, Impureza have carved their boldest statement to date: an ode to a violent past, where the sword and cross meet in a storm of steel and ash.

IMPUREZA is a Hispanic metal band formed in 2004 by guitarist Lionel Cano Muñoz from Orléans. Their music is distinguished by a unique fusion of extreme metal and Spanish sounds inspired by Andalusian culture and flamenco, creating an atypical style known as Hispanic Metal. IMPUREZA remains an innovative project in the international metal scene, making it a pioneer of the genre.

The entire concept of the band revolves around the voluptuousness of Latin atmospheres, the ferocity of metal, and Spanish culture and history, explored through a fictional and esoteric aspect. Their compositions feature both clean and guttural vocals sung in the language of Cervantes, flamenco guitar, acoustic fretless bass, extreme metal, and orchestral arrangements that evoke the colors of Spain. The very essence of their music lies in the duality between two seemingly opposed musical genres, which, through clever composition, give birth to a new and avant-garde style. Their fiery music is literally the union of traditional Hispanic folklore and extreme metal. These metal warriors brandish their Iberian sounds as weapons with pride. This ingenious alliance is matched only by the singular and unprecedented creative originality of its founder Lionel Cano Muñoz and his compañero Esteban Martín, both of Spanish nationality. Eivør - signs to Nuclear Blast Records + unveils European tour trailer

Renowned Faroese artist Eivør has signed to the legendary Nuclear Blast Records, marking a thrilling new chapter in her boundary-breaking career. Known for her powerful vocals, primal performance energy, and genre-defying compositions, Eivør today unveils the official trailer for her 2025 European Tour, which will feature special guest Ásgeir and support from Elinborg.

In addition to the tour and label signing, Eivør is currently at work on her next studio album, due for release in 2026 on Nuclear Blast. This eagerly anticipated record follows her critically acclaimed album ENN, which fused Faroese folk tradition, cinematic landscapes, electronic production, and haunting vocals - cementing her reputation as one of the most innovative Nordic artists of her generation.

“Signing with Nuclear Blast feels like a natural next step,” says Eivør. “My music has always lived in the space between worlds and I’m honoured to join a label that embraces artistic freedom and is passionate about my music. I'm already deep into writing new material, and I can’t wait to share what’s coming next.”

Over the past two decades, Eivør has released 11 albums and composed for major international productions including The Last Kingdom and God of War. Her live performances are known for their immersive and ritualistic intensity, blending voice, atmosphere, and visual storytelling into something truly transcendent.

Eivør’s home, the Faroe Islands, is a small island country in the North Atlantic, which was populated by Scandinavians in the Viking Age. It is a land of extremes, full of contrasts, with heavy, dark winters, and bright, joyful summers. Eivør is deeply inspired by the unique Faroese landscape and its vibrant traditional folk music. Despite centuries of foreign rule, the Faroese folk culture has persevered, especially through communal singing and dancing. This cultural resilience in the face of a harsh nature and foreign dominance strongly informs Eivør’s music: “A very strong part of Faroese culture is singing together—anywhere people gather, there will be singing,”Eivør explains. “When you listen to old Faroese traditional music, it’s sung acapella and takes you back to its Renaissance roots. It’s pure, expressive, and untamed.”

Eivør has cultivated her distinct guttural singing technique under inspiration from beatboxing, throat-singing, and heavy metal growling to convey the untamed expressiveness inherent to traditional Faroese music and culture. It is a primal call to return to her roots in natural landscape of her birthplace.

Often considered to be one of the most prolific and unique Nordic artists of her generation, Eivør has released 11 studio albums to date, crossing musical genres and always pushing the bounds of the expected. Presented with two Icelandic Music Awards for her sophomore album and the Nordic Council Music Price in 2021, Eivør’s musical journey continues to fascinate.

Eivør is happy to be embraced by the metal community. She identifies a shared pagan sensibility in her television scores like The Last Kingdom. “I never felt I really fit into any box,” said Eivør. “I just have to do it my own way.” 

THE SPEAKER WARS Premieres Lyric Video for "When The Moon Cries Wolf"

Texas-based rock band THE SPEAKER WARS, featuring legendary drummer Stan Lynch(formerly of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers) and acclaimed singer-songwriter Jon Christopher Davis — has released a brand-new lyric video for “When The Moon Cries Wolf,” one of the standout tracks from the band's recently released self-titled debut album, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Blending heartfelt lyricism with a driving classic rock spirit, “When The Moon Cries Wolf” captures the band’s signature sound—equal parts seasoned craft and raw energy. The song began to take shape when Davis tossed out the evocative title during a writing session, and from that moment, the song had a life of its own.

Stan Lynch reflects on the track:

“‘When The Moon Cries Wolf’ is a rocker that had me goin’ from the moment JCD blurted out the title. It was a gas to record; it just kept getting stronger the more we played it. Jon sings the snot out of it, and once he had the vocal, the tune reminded me of Mad Dogs & Englishmen's early records. It's even better when we play it live."

STAN LYNCH, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, long-time drummer and founding member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, announces today the formation of THE SPEAKER WARS. After two decades of recording and touring multiple albums with The Heartbreakers, STANmoved to the other side of the recording console and shifted his focus to production and songwriting. Over the years, STAN has written and produced hits for artists in multiple genres, including the Eagles, Don Henley, Tim McGraw, The Mavericks, Ringo Starr, The Byrds, Toto, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds.

While writing in Nashville, a publisher introduced STAN to Texas singer-songwriter, Jon Christopher Davis, who was gathering material for a solo record on a major label. After accumulating an album’s worth of songs, Jon abandoned working on a solo record and the two decided to start a band to perform the newly created material. Adding Jay Michael Smith on guitar, Brian Patterson on bass, Steve Ritter on percussion, and Jay Brown on keyboards, THE SPEAKER WARS was born.

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild have unleashed their new track "living ded" and the accompanying official video (via Sumerian Records). Prior to today, the band released the official music video for "sLeepwALKeR", which climbed the TikTok Viral Music Charts to #43 with 22.6k organic creations on the platform. The sister duo next shared "Button Eyes" which continues to climb the ranks at Active Rock radio. Most recently, The Pretty Wild dropped their banger "OMENS" and official music video. Altogether, the tracks have clocked over 15 million streams on Spotify alone and nearly 2 million views on YouTube. Speaking about today's release, the band shared:

"'Living ded' is about reclaiming power through an intense and seemingly unbeatable struggle. When you’re dragged to your darkest depths, almost into existential collapse, and you find yourself suspended in this kind of weird liminal space. Some choose to stay there, but others self-realize the suffering, refuse to disappear, and choose to rise again as something new raw, almost ghostly or unkillable.
