In the mist-shrouded hills of Scotland, where legends whisper through ancient stones, there emerged a band as enigmatic as the land itself: VUKOVI.

On January 24, VUKOVI will unleash their latest creation, MY GOD HAS GOT A GUN, via SharpTone Records, a provocative title that hints at the explosive content within. The album, produced by the legendary Machine at the fabled The Machine Shop Recording Studio in Austin, is the result of several intense weeks spent in the heart of Texas, where the band channelled the heat, the dust, and the raw, untamed energy of the landscape into their music. The album's artwork, a haunting and vivid creation, was painted by the band's Janine herself.

To usher in this new era, VUKOVI have bestowed upon the world their latest single "GUNGHO" and it's accompanying visuals.

As the world waited with bated breath for new material, VUKOVI embarked on their first co-headlining tour across the United States with brethren Calva Louise, supported metal titans Babymetal across the UK, and conquered a number of major music festivals such as Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple, Download Festival, Rock For People, and Graspop (to name a few). Rising pop/rock artist Sierra Levesque is back with her highly anticipated original single, "AUTHORITY," now available on all major streaming platforms. Decades into their game-changing career, German metal legends Kreator find themselves more successful and influential than ever. BEWITCHER Drops New Music Video for "Spell Shock," New Album Out Today

All the best tunes belong to the Devil, and Portland’s bastard sons BEWITCHER have returned to take back rock n’ roll in Baphomet’s name. In honor of today's release of the band's new studio album,, 'Spell Shock,' BEWITCHER is revealing an ominous new music video for the title track! Says bassist A. Magus on the unholy genesis of the new album, "'Spell Shock’ is the product of playing 130 shows in a row and then going straight into writing and recording,” Indeed, BEWITCHER’s unrelenting tour grind for their 2021’s 'Cursed Be Thy Kingdom,' alongside the likes of Municipal Waste, Goatwhore, Cavalera and Exhumed became the fuel for their finest moment to date. “Spell Shock” lives up to its title. It’s riffs, filth and fury at their most demonic and rebellious.

Joining Von Bewitcher, bassist A. Magus, and drummer A. Hunter in the studio this time was none other longtime BEWITCHER fan Lars Frederiksen. Most of the world knows Frederiksen as a force in his own right, playing in the likes of Bay Area punk heroes Rancid, as well as his own Old Firm Casuals. While to some, it may have been an unlikely pairing with Frederiksen taking the producer’s seat, for everyone in the studio the connection was immediate.

As Frederiksen previously commented on 'Spell Shock': "It’s the best record I’ve ever produced for one of the best bands in the world."

Magus explains about their experience with Frederiksen: “[Lars’] knowledge of heavy metal, black metal and thrash – as well as punk, is vast and extreme. It was definitely a match made in hell.'

From 'Spell Shock's' pummeling first invocation, “Starfire Maelstrom,” BEWITCHER stake a bloody claim on making a metal record that’s equally classic and contemporary. With them, classic is undeniably key. “We kept coming back to classic heavy metal records for inspiration,” says Magus. “What we got was our take on classic 80’s metal records using the tools we have today.” The band also credits engineer and mixer Chris Dugan, best known for his work with Green Day (Yes, Green Day, but listen to those guitars!), for nailing 'Spell Shock’s' energized rawness. “We’ve always tried to be an old school band, without being or sounding like a retro or trad metal band,” adds Von Bewitcher.

'Spell Shock' is BEWITCHER at their most evolved and most devastatingly primal. “We wanted it to be an album experience,” says drummer A. Hunter. “Imagine King Diamond’s 'Abigail' in terms of atmosphere merged with the energy of AC/DC’s 'High Voltage.'”

Wang Chung's Iconic "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" Gets a Fresh Remix Out Today!

The '80s were full of party dance anthems, and one of the era's most memorable is Wang Chung's 1986 hit, Everybody Have Fun Tonight. On September 27th, 2024, the song returns with a new remix by acclaimed remixer Eric Kupper, known for his work with artists such as Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Depeche Mode, Diana Ross, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

Wang Chung's Nick Feldman and Jack Hues were immediately impressed with Kupper's remix, describing it as vibrant, infectious, and full of dynamic energy that breathes new life into the song while preserving its original shape.

The new studio album by German nu-metal band OCEANS sees the light of day today!

Rising Star Cat Evers Releases Empowering New Track “Aphrodite,”

Rising artist, Cat Evers, has officially released her latest single, “Aphrodite,” today. The track, which explores themes of self-discovery and confidence, was written and produced during a writer’s camp Catattended in April of 2023 in upstate New York. Originally conceived as a vocal loop using her BOSS RC202 pedal, the single emphasizes the powerful layering of vocal harmonies—a signature element of Cat’s songwriting process. The production was completed after, drawing inspiration from the sonic landscapes of Frou Frou’s “A New Kind of Love” and Britney Spears’ iconic “Toxic.”

Lyrically, “Aphrodite” delves into the idea that “the more you tell yourself one thing is true, the more you’ll believe it.” The song is a reflection on confidence as a mindset and an exploration of identity. It speaks to the experience of living multiple versions of oneself and struggling to reconcile them. Cat invites listeners to embrace the discomfort of transformation and find confidence in a new identity, even if that confidence must be self-manufactured.

This latest release also marks an important milestone in Cat’s career, as it will soon be accompanied by her first-ever music video, set to debut later in October. Filmed in New York City, the video promises to visually capture the essence of “Aphrodite’s” themes of self-assurance and reinvention.

Growing up in Malibu, California, Cat’s passion for music began at a young age and evolved into a cross-genre sound that melds Pop, Rock, and R&B, each song driven by evocative storytelling. Graeme Edge appears on screen for a very special video, reciting his poems, ‘Morning Glory’ and ‘Late Lament’. Jon has been the lead singer of YES since 2012, and brings his soaring vocals and passion to these classic songs. John has surrounded himself with a band that are equally passionate, who put simply, love performing together, and who appreciate and respect the legacy of the music. The Moodies may not perform any more, and the loss of Graeme, Ray and Mike is felt deeply, but this show honors John’s friends and the music.

Brooklyn alternative rock outfit The Giraffes has released their eighth album 'Cigarette'- a hypnotic, psychedelic ethnic-tinged rock score for our current age of decay and disappointment, fear and fury, idiocy and hope. This long-awaited and loaded 7-track offering is full of surprises, taking new risks with subject matter and composition while maintaining the intensity and dexterity fans know and love. 

Recorded & engineered by Andrew Totolos at Apesauce Studio, this was mixed by Grammy nominated producer Francisco Botero (Matisyahu, Odesza) at the iconic Studio G Brooklyn and by James Dellatacoma (Bill Laswell, Herbie Hancock, TS Monk, John Zorn, Angelique Kidjo) at Bill Laswell's famed Orange Music Sound Studio.

The band recently released the single 'Pipes', a furious, psychedelic protest anthem born from the fear of widespread environmental neglect, and the hypnotic lead track 'The Shot', a rock-meets-psychedelic-surf earworm that shimmers between shadowy depths and sunlit crescendos. 

Since forming in 1996, they've been crafting a hedonistic soundtrack that is loud, agile, dangerous, funny, sick, complex and satisfying. Known for their trademark menu of metal-tinged scuzz-rock, The Giraffes offer a tasteful mixture of heavy rock, punk, post-punk, surf and whatever else they find interesting.   

With lead singer Aaron Lazar and guitar maestro Damien Paris as its core, drummer Andrew Totolos provides the locomotive rhythm section with Hannah Moorhead anchoring the bass. This year marks the beginning of a new era for the band, with Moorhead now also contributing backing vocals and songwriting. With the line-up no longer in flux, the focus is now largely on songwriting.  

"Cigarette is a name that just popped into my mind out of the blue. We tried several titles but this word “cigarette” just seemed to suit the record best. Those now rare and expensive and terrible treats that both kill and sustain you. Anachronistic and awkward, beautiful and trashy, plant, paper, fire and whatever else that happened to linger in the philip morris production line," says Aaron Lazar.

"This collection of songs comes from a cinematic place. We started off attempting to make a record that was spiritually similar to our spaghetti western soundtrack “A Gentleman Never Tells” and with a few detours i think we have arrived there. A score for our current age of decay and disappointment, fear and fury, idiocy and hope."

Four years since forming and two years since debuting with their 1998 album 'Franksquilt', The Giraffes finally found their true form in 2000 when joined by vocalist Aaron Lazar. Upon releasing 'Helping You Help Yourself', their first album with Lazar in 2002, the band would stake its claim as the most unbridled and fun-loving Brooklyn live act. Indeed, with fierce musicality and peak audience participation, The Giraffes earned themselves a dedicated fan base. 

From 2002, the band toured nationally and released four studio albums in succession, signing with various labels along the way. Their spaghetti western EP 'A Gentleman Never Tells' (2003) was followed by 'The Giraffes' album (2005), the 'Pretty In Puke' EP and the 'Prime Motivator' album (2008). Their epic 2010 concept album 'Ruled' proved to be Lazar's swan song before leaving the band in 2011. While his departure seemed to mark the end of an era, the embers of their explosive sound would later reignite, proving that this was not the band's final act.

2014 brought sold-out reunion concerts with Lazar back at the helm, reuniting fans from far and wide. Bolstered by their support, the Giraffes began developing new material, resulting in their sixth album 'Usury', released to critical acclaim in 2015.  Finally, 2019 brought a new lineup with the addition of bassist Hannah Moorhead (Netherlands, Twenty Two’s) and new impetus with the release of the 'Flower of the Cosmos' album and remixes by Swervedriver's Adam Franklin and notable hip-hop record producer Blockhead.

Over the years, The Giraffes have toured with Eagles of Death Metal, Local-H, The Vacation and Skeleton Key, and shared the stage with Interpol, Fishbone, Yeah Yeah Yeah's and The Strokes. They've played SXSW, Bonnaroo, Amsterjam, Voodofest, Monolith, Northside and CMJ Festivals, and landed sync licensing placements in the 'Guitar Hero' video game, Sundance Festival winning film 'I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore', and the forthcoming 'Toxic Avenger' remake.

As of September 27, the 'Cigarette' album will be available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

"HATRED", the album's ferocious lead single, delivers everything fans have come to love from Paleface Swiss: relentlessly visceral intensity, Zelli’s instantly recognizable, rapid fire rap-style vocals, Yannick Lehmann's insane thrash-inspired solos and ten-ton heavy nu-metal-esque riffs and the pummeling rhythmic backbone of Tommy Lee's basslines and Cassiano "Cassi'" Toma's drumming, providing lightening fast blast beats and brutal beatdowns. Speaking on the track, Marc "Zelli" Zellweger shares

“When you’re a kid growing up, you're happy and you think everything is cool, but nowadays, every time you open your phone, it’s just a flood of negativity. We’re bombarded with so much bad news every day that finding anything positive feels nearly impossible. ‘Hatred’ is us venting our frustration about the things we can’t change. It may not be as deep as the other tracks on the album, but it’s for everyone who’s fed up with the constant negativity in the world. For the music video, we wanted to keep it simple and raw—a no-nonsense, old-school performance video with us going as hard as we can in a room. There are, however, a few easter eggs hidden in there that will make more sense as we release more videos from this album.”

"Hatred" also begins with album intro track, "Un Pobre Niño Murió", a reimagining of a song the band heard for the first time when they decamped to Tenerife, where their close friend and tour manager, Ron Steven Deris, lives, to write their new record. Elaborating on the story, "Zelli" continues

“We went to Ron’s place in Tenerife, and every morning and every evening we had breakfast and dinner together. We always listened to vinyl while eating, and one evening he pulled out a Canary Islands folklore vinyl with very old songs—like all of the artists on these songs had been dead for many years—and this song came on with just one woman singing by herself. It’s supposed to be a children’s lullaby, but it was actually scary. The lyrics are the complete opposite of a lullaby.”

‘Cursed’ is a masterclass in modern brutality and encapsulates two years of creative exploration and raw personal experiences for the Paleface Swiss members. The band retreated to the seclusion of the Canary Islands to craft this sonic juggernaut. Collaborating with Ron Steven Deris at Misueno Studios and with long-time collaborator Florent Salfati (Landmvrks) helping to add the finishing touches, their work culminated in an album that marries the band’s signature heaviness with intricate conceptual storytelling. Zelli goes on to share:  

"This time we wanted to keep it simple and follow the lead of the big guys, taking the necessary time for it. However, it was still an exhausting process. I’m overjoyed with the result and can’t wait to unleash our first concept album upon the world."

The album features nine tracks, each paired with a specific flower on the album artwork that represents a different struggle, forming a bouquet of beauty and darkness that mirrors the band's tumultuous experiences. Zelli elaborates:  

“This record is for sure our most personal one so far. We've always written about topics like mental health, but we’ve usually written about people who are really close to us. On this record there wasn’t really much space for stories from other people. Between the time when we released "Fear & Dagger "and writing this record, there were periods when this is how we all felt. I’d say 80% of these two years were filled with so much happiness and joy, which I’m really thankful for, but the few dark days that we had ARE this record.”

To celebrate the release of ‘Cursed’ at the top of 2025, Paleface Swiss is gearing up to take their monstrous sound across North America with their biggest US Headline Tour to date. The tour kicks off on March 20th, 2025, in Detroit, MI, and will cover 30 cities, including Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto. Since the release of their first album, 'Chapter 3: The Last Selection', independent outfit, PALEFACE SWISS have gained international recognition throughout the Deathcore and Beatdown Community. With its sharp and slithering riffs, Gaerea's previous single spiked the anticipation for Coma to an almost unbearable degree. "Suspended" holds their captive audience in even greater suspense. Like a spider weaving its web, the somber, opening guitar melody unfolds with great care before the booming blast beats swallow you into the band's inescapable vortex. 

"I stand at a fateful divide / where choices collide", their tortured vocalist screams as if dangling from the grip of a soul-wrenching vice. "Hell breaks loose".

The never-ending maze that Gaerea dared us to enter during the album's first official single is obscured by an even thicker haze on "Suspended". But the band stay clear of any stylistic dead ends. The blindingly fast tremolo picking suddenly relents, opening up a post-rock passage that twinkles like a dying star. "No words can explain why I chose as I did", their vocalist sings in one great, long mournful sigh.

"Suspended" stands as the first song in Gaerea's mantle-worthy discography to feature clean singing, but the soft shift only sets up the song's final knockout. All at once, the riffs, blasts and screams come roaring back into the fray behind an elevated gothic choir, bringing the band's level of despair to crushing new heights.

Bike Routes Share "World Apart" Video — WATCH

Today, Bike Routes has shared the video for "World Apart," an upbeat, alt pop rock jam with both an '80s and post-hardcore vibe.

"'World Apart' captivates the listener with pinpoint aggression towards the mundane motions of everyday life," says Bike Routes about the song's existential lean. "It tackles existential dread and the desire to start anew. No one ever tells you how hard it's gonna be to follow your dreams, and if what we do here even really matters. But, if nothing matters, then I think that it's alright, because it's impossible we're all here at the same time."

Deeply intimate, earnest, and heartfelt expressions of anxiety, heartbreak, and acceptance lie within deceptively sugary melodies and hooks. David’s acoustic guitar is the anchor, inviting listeners into a notebook full of emotion and authenticity. 

The Garden State gave the world Bruce Springsteen, The Misfits, Lifetime, and The Gaslight Anthem. There's perhaps a bit of the essence of each of those trailblazers within the Bike Routes sound. While the South Jersey singer/songwriter conjures the spirit of the iconic troubadours of indie rock, classic emo, and postmodern pop-punk, he distinctively carves a singularly unique identity all his own. 

Osterhout teamed up with producer Zach Tuch (Touché Amoré, Silverstein, Movements), looking to expand the Bike Routes sound. The resulting collection is the Rush of Energy EP — the first Bike Routes release via Blue Grape Music. 

Bike Routes excels in the live environment, as evidenced on a Spring 2024 tour with Hawthorne Heights. More touring is expected for later this year.

Colorado’s favorite metalcore practitioners MOUTH FOR WAR today drop their punishing new standalone single, “The Earth's Cold Embrace” with an accompanying video. At once ominous and pit-propelling from its first note, the track stands among the band’s heaviest work to date.  
 
Comments MOUTH FOR WAR vocalist Trae Roberts, "‘The Earth's Cold Embrace’ is the next step in musical evolution for MOUTH FOR WAR. We're bringing in lots of new elements while still maintaining the influences that brought this band together. We were very stoked to bring in [producer] Josh Schroeder to really bring this new track to life.

“The track is based on a dream I had on tour that really messed with my head for a few days. It was essentially a storyline where I killed someone in a private setting, then proceeded to be stalked by a crowd of people that knew what I had done until ultimately being forced to shoot myself. I tried to embody the mood of the dream in the instrumental of this track before even implementing lyrical content. We were lucky enough that our friend Dave hooked us up with this underground nuclear missile complex to shoot the video, which was incredibly fitting to the eerie vibe of the song. Miranda Lambert's Oct. 5 "Music for Mutts" Benefit Concert Announces Livestream Powered by T-Mobile

Miranda Lambert’s “Music for Mutts” benefit concert presented by Tractor Supply, set for Saturday, Oct. 5 at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater, will also be available via livestream powered by T-Mobile from 8:30-10:30 p.m. CT. Fans everywhere can tune into the livestream free-of-charge on both Lambert’s and MuttNation’s Facebook and YouTube channels, as well as on the Nugs.net website and YouTube channel.  
 
Having recently released her latest critically acclaimed album, Postcards from Texas, Lambert will share center stage with some of her favorite animal-loving friends including HARDY, Lukas Nelson and some very special surprise guests. Prior to the livestream, Jake Worthington will kick off what promises to be an exciting and fun-filled evening for a great cause – raising funds and visibility for shelter pets nationwide through Lambert’s nonprofit, MuttNation Foundation.

Founded by Lambert alongside her mom, Bev, the 501c(3) nonprofit celebrating its 15th anniversary has raised over $10 million to date to promote adoption, support shelters across the country, advance spay & neuter and assist with the transport of animals during times of natural disaster – with MuttNation Foundation also recently announcing $230,000 year-to-date in emergency response funding given through the Relief for Rescues initiative.

In addition to the upcoming benefit concert, there will be a pre-show, open-to-the-public dog adoption event at Ascend Park, adjacent to the amphitheater on 1st Avenue, from 4-6 p.m. local time. Participating shelters include Crossroads Campus, Metro Animal Care & Control, Nashville Humane, Nashville Pittie, Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary, Wags & Walks and Williamson County Animal Center. In addition, the Dog Aging Project will be onsite to share information about how people and animals impact each other’s aging processes – and fans can sign their dogs up to participate in the project.
