PRINE ON PRINE Gets Strand-ed w Steve Earle; Garden & Gun, CBS Prime Time + More

PRINE ON PRINE: Interviews & Encounters has arrived! After hitting #1 on the New Releases, Country + Folk Biography Amazon list, the Musicians in Their Own Words volume dedicated to the Grammy and Songwriting Hall of Fame inductee has been striking a chord across America. Beyond the initial wave of media, including three full pages, including the cover of the Tennessean’s Features section, the collection of newspaper and magazine features, TV appearances, award presentations, film scripts, recipes and an evening at the Library of Congress is attracting music lovers of all ages.
 
With the official kick-off week culminating with a conversation with Steve Earle and signing at the iconic Strand Books on Broadway at 12th, editor Holly Gleason and the Texas expat treated the packed room to memories of the beloved songwriter, insights into his time in Nashville and thoughts on why Prine’s music made such an enduring impact on generations of young artists and songwriters. For Earle, who counts Prine just behind Bob Dylan and parallel to Bruce Springsteen, it was an opportunity to also witness the Chicago-born, Kentucky-rooted, Nashville-based legend’s support during difficult times, his playwriting and theater company and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass encounters over the years, as well as Earle’s longstanding relationship with LA Press Club’s Southern California Media Awards Entertainment Journalist of the Year.
 
“Steve, like John, was there when I was a baby rock critic,” Gleason said of her cohost. “I wrote the first national piece on Guitar Town, covered him for Rolling Stone, MIX and even a cover for Country Song Round Up. John thought so much of Steve’s writing, and Steve held John in such esteem, he was the perfect person to start this book’s journey with! He understands the world Oh Boy Records was born into.”
 
Earle and Gleason’s conversation continues this weekend, where Gleason is the sole guest on SiriusXM Outlaw Country’s “Hardcore Troubadour Show.” Laughing about mutual friends, moments that stood out from a time when Nashville was a creative intersection point and being real about the impact Prine’s work had on each of them, it moves through all the feels.

Reveal Records is pleased to announce that the debut solo album from one of Scotland’s finest songwriters - John Douglas of Trashcan Sinatras fame - will be released worldwide on October 6th.

At long last, fans and newcomers alike are treated to an intimate snapshot of the talent, charisma and depth of this celebrated Scottish indie songsmith. With this release comes the start of a new chapter in John Douglas' creative life as he simultaneously looks back at a lifetime of musical adventures and accolades and moves forwards.

The album
'John Douglas' features new recordings of some of John's favourite Traschcan Sinatras material, alongside new songs he has written and his own rendition of the Prefab Sprout classic ‘We Let The Stars Go’.

The eleven songs on this record were performed solo, recorded live at Kyoti Studio in Glasgow (with no overdubs) by producer
Mark Freegard, who also mixed and mastered the album.

John Douglas expains, “I’ve often been encouraged by friends over the years to make a solo album, but the timing or inclination didn’t flow. Last year - out of nowhere - everything suddenly felt right and the process was quick and natural. Mark just set the mics up and I played my songs. No other musicians or overdubs. Me and my guitar. That way, I became the songs and they became me. The finished record, though varied in song styles, has a mood to it… it’s warm, thoughtful and quiet.. as I generally aspire to be.

Hailing from Irvine on Scotland’s west coast, John has a rich history, making music with Trashcan Sinatras for over thirty years. Apart from his role as a songwriter (and guitarist) there, John has been playing live gigs across the UK and Ireland as part of his partner Eddi Reader’s band.

He has also been performing solo sets at shows with musical friends, such as Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub), Jill Jackson and James Grant (Love & Money). Whilst visiting Irvine recently, John was invited to guest with Martin McAloon (Prefab Sprout), the two artists having first met in 1990 during Trashcan Sinatras' ‘Jordan - The Comeback’ tour with Prefab Sprout.

On October 6th, John Douglas' album will be released on CD and digitally and will be available from fine music outlets worldwide. It can be
obtained via Bandcamp ahead of the general release with early-birds receiving an immediate full album download, plus exclusive access to two bonus digital tracks ('Last Orders'and 'The Drink').

This disease can wear many faces and often times, we choose to ignore the obvious red flags that are right in front of us. "I wrote this song after a year of counselling for depression and anxiety, linked to menopause and not helped by Covid-enforced inactivity and unease. On our final session, my amazing counsellor Jude, who I have kept in touch with, described the acceptance of good and bad days as ‘like living with the moon’.  I told her that would make a great song title and promised her I’d write it – and I did!" says Léanie Kaleido.
 
“So, the lyrics are a thank you to myself for getting the help I needed at the time, a finger to the armchair critics and the toxic people who didn’t help, and a willing surrender to the lunar power over us all. Earlier, the duo released the single 'Wait For Me' featuring piano, mixing and production by Chris Mars (A Flock of Seagulls, Damian Wilson) and two tracks produced by RIDE's Mark Gardener at OX4 Sound Studio - 'Lionhearts' and the epic 'Ascension Heights', which features a guitar sample from Léanie's late father Top Topham (original founding guitarist of The Yardbirds). This particular song also features bassist Mo Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson) and involved Paul Statham (Dido, Simple Minds, Kylie Minogue).

Austin rock duo 
The Caughtery presents 'The Rain Song', leaving their own distinguished mark on the Led Zeppelin classic. Produced and recorded by David Gayler at Studio71West in Spicewood, Texas, thiswas mixed by legendary producer Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, Tin Machine, U2, Ozzy Osbourne, HIM, The Mission), who also worked withRobert Plant on his'Shaken n Stirred'solo album. To boot, Palmer alsocontributes additional guitar. 

Formed in 2020, The Caughtery is long-time Austin music veterans 
Lisa Tingle and David Gayler, whose contemporary rock output is influenced by musical threads running from the 60s through 00s.Their 2022 debut EP 'The Caughtery' presents a series of “musical paintings”, expressing the pressure and fragility of the human state over the last few years.

"This is one of Led Zeppelin's most beautiful songs. A beautiful ballad legendarily created based on George Harrison's belief and comments to the band members that Led Zeppelin needed to compose more ballads. Mr. Plant and Page apparently took that to heart and created this masterpiece," saysLisa Tingle.

"Lisa and I wanted to do our thing on this and keep it organic and respect the original intent and feel. We hope we accomplished that. Personally, Lisa recalls loving this particular song when she was a little girl, dreaming of someday singing and recording it," saysDavid Gayler.

"Throughout her singing career, she has frequently added Led Zeppelin songs to her setlists at most of her shows, feeling akin to the writing and vocal style. 'The Rain Song' marks the third Led Zeppelin song she has recorded. Her first record deal with her band Black Pearl included her rendition of 'Since I’ve Been Loving You' and her 'Live at the Lucky Lounge' solo album includes 'Ramble On' too."

The duo brought on some amazing players for this song. Bass guitarist
Ricky Phillips (Styx, Coverdale / Page, Bad English) shared his skills and also played with Jimmy Page himself in the past on the Coverdale / Page album.

Three-time Grammy-winning drummer
Brannen Temple plays from the heart and his performance on this song has so much elegance and power at the same time. Scottie Miller contributed so much to this song with tasteful and enchanting piano work and cinematic string work.

Lisa Tingle has received multiple honors at the Austin Music Awards (Female Vocalist of the Year, Band of the Year, Best Song, Musician of the Year, Album of the Year), and has toured / performed with legends such as Etta James, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble, Eric Johnson, Stephen Bruton, Monte Montgomery and Marcia Ball.
 
David Gayler is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and studio owner based in Spicewood, Texas. Having moved here from New York in the mid-80s, Gayler has been in various bands over the years, opening for such notable artists as The Romantics, Charlie Sexton and Jerry Jeff Walker, and was also a member of the Party Band during MTVs journey down to Texas in the late 1980s

“Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska: Celebrating A Rough Masterpiece” to Air in Early 2024, "Recording Live from Analog" Taping Set for Sept. 19

Fans of Bruce Springsteen and lovers of Americana music are in for a treat as his acclaimed 1982 album comes to life with the taping of “Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska: Celebrating A Rough Masterpiece” on September 19 at Analog at the Hutton Hotel during Nashville’s annual AMERICANAFEST. The special program will be part of the “Recorded Live from Analog” series, debuting in early 2024 and made possible with support by Heaven’s Door.
 
This unique musical experience hosted by Warren Zanes, the acclaimed author of “Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska,” will pay homage to one of the most iconic albums in American music history with performances by Emmylou Harris, Noah Kahan, Lyle Lovett, The Lumineers and Lucinda Williams. A four-piece house band led by musical director Daniel Tashian and a stage production designed to reflect the gritty, Americana essence of Springsteen’s Nebraska album will add to the timelessness of the songs as Zanes contextualizes each performance in a meaningful way.
 
Nebraska became a legendary release, mysterious and powerful, for generations of music makers. In a conversation with Zanes, Springsteen said that he feels “Nebraska still may be my best,” but he also described it to Zanes as “an accident start to finish.”
 
“The story of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska recording is one of American music's very best,” reflects Zanes, who will also conduct a book signing following the show. “To be able to tell that story with these artists supplying the music? This night will be among the highlights of my creative life.”

THE LION'S DAUGHTER Premieres Unnerving Music Video for New Song, "End Credits," via The Circle Pit

St. Louis horror metal outfit The Lion's Daughter has teamed up with The Circle Pit to premiere the utterly disturbing new music video for the haunting new single, "End Credits." The clip, which was created by Jakov Burov and is not for the faint of heart, can be found at THIS LOCATION.

"End Credits" is taken from the band's upcoming full-length, 'Bath House,' which is on October 13, 2023 as an independent entity!

The Lion's Daughter frontman Rick Giordano comments, "'End Credits' is about the horror of grief. It's a song that I never thought our band would have the guts to pull off, and it's quickly become my favorite on the album. Jakov Burov's animation is a perfect visual companion to leave you feeling broken beyond repair."

In addition, The Lion's Daughter will be performing live later this year! On October 13, the band will have a special Friday the 13th album release party in its hometown of St. Louis, MO. Some creations are designed to elicit nightmares, evoking unspeakable terrors that are meant to shock, terrify, and mesmerize the masses. Since the release of its first full-length in 2012, The Lion’s Daughter has consistently put forth music that is just as disturbing as it is enticing, making a name for itself as a dark force among its musical contemporaries. And much like an eldritch horror, the band is constantly shape shifting like a Shoggoth, capable of fitting into many different musical spaces, while at the same time, fitting into no earthly dimensions just as an ancient alien rising up from centuries of arctic slumber with a mission to destroy and conquer.

And much like the Shoggoth, The Lion’s Daughter have defied all gods and masters, releasing its latest opus as an independent entity, breaking away from the corporate confines of a label. ‘Bath House’ is another generically unclassified masterpiece from the St. Louis horror quartet, pulling elements from everything from Faith No More to Godflesh to Samhain, creating a sound that’s way ahead of its time and yet certain to grab the listener by the throat.

“Saying that this album was influenced by everything-that-I’ve-ever-liked-ever isn’t a very good answer, but it’s an accurate one,” explains frontman Rick Giordano on the band’s unique sound. “I turned the left side of my brain off completely and let a lifetime of soaking up great art just come to the surface naturally. There are bits of all the things I love in there… from old Metallica to film scores to industrial and whatever else, but I think these things have melded together in a way that is cohesive and not just nonsensical genre-hopping. There are clean vocals and guitar solos, a lot of things that we’ve never tried before. It really feels like you uploaded my entire record collection to a hard drive and had an AI create an album based on that.”

As the music itself on ‘Bath House’ is a representation of Giordano’s musical palette, the lyrics are perhaps the darkest and most vulnerable of his career. The band strays away from fantasy on this record and instead, gets raw and relatable. “It’s all really ugly shit,” he says of the new album’s themes. “Which, for our band, is not shocking at all. But this time around, it’s all much more personal to me, which makes it a bit difficult and uncomfortable to talk about. I wasn’t in a great place while writing this record. Grief, fear, jealousy, and general devastation can be found all over this thing. That wasn’t my intention exactly, but like the music, I let the lyrics kind of write themselves without letting logic or reason interfere.”

To further illustrate the darkness that dwells within ‘Bath House,’ The Lion’s Daughter commissioned a perverse and unnerving image from UK artist Daniel Peacock for the album cover. The image not only works well in cohesion with the record, but also symbolizes that while ‘Bath House’ still very much carries the band’s signature sound, it still isn’t exactly what fans might expect. Giordano explains, “Our previous two album covers featured masked characters. I wanted to see what happens when you take the mask off. This record isn’t shrouded in mystery the same way the previous couple have been. It’s much more of an in your face kind of attack, and I felt the artwork should represent that. This horrible creature looks dangerous and frightening, but is also clearly in pain and also afraid. It’s the perfect image to represent whatever the fuck ugly thing lives in my head. On this record it is no longer hiding behind a mask… it is loose and it’s right outside your fucking house.”

As the St. Louis horror masters set forth on a new trajectory, the former trio has also added Black Fast guitarist Aaron Akin to the lineup, creating a sound that’s more intense and grand. “Aaron was the guitarist and vocalist of a band called Black Fast. They were hands down the best metal band to come out of St. Louis in decades. Once they disbanded, it was a no-brainer to try and get the guy who fronted my favorite local band to be in my band. Why wouldn’t I? Plus, as anyone who knows Aaron will tell you, he’s an all around great guy,” explains Giordano on how this new union came about.

And as a new union has been formed, former binds have been severed as The Lion’s Daughter is no longer tied to a label, doing this record fully independently for the first time in its career and taking full and total control. “It’s just nice to have 100% control over everything again,” Giordano says of the band’s new freedom. “That was the whole intention when we started this band years ago. We lost sight of that for a while. No disrespect intended towards anyone, but this band has always been pretty anti-music industry and anti-bullshit.”

Despite so many changes, The Lion’s Daughter is still the same band that cult followers have come to worship, but with everything cranked up to 11. With heavier music, a fuller sound, and darker themes, the band is maximizing terror with its monstrous brand of debauchery and unspeakable perversions. Unpleasant dreams…

French extreme metal avant-gardists CELESTE have released a video for their new single 'With Idle Hands', another song from their upcoming new EP Epilogue(s), due out on November 17th through Nuclear Blast Records.

The EP features three exclusive bonus tracks from their most recent album, Assassine(s), released in 2022. Scroll down for the tracklisting and available formats.

'With Idle Hands' might be the most tender song CELESTE have ever written, and its English title and lyrics set it apart from anything the band has done previously. The vocals for this track have been contributed by Tim from US shoegaze metal band GRIVO.

Iodine Releasing Classic, Out of Print Record From Garrison Now Available for The First Time In Over 20 Years

Garrison were born in Boston during the heyday of the prolific late '90s post-hardcore scene.

Their cohort featured heavy hitters like Piebald, Cave In, and Converge. Following in the footsteps of bands like Quicksand, Drive Like Jehu, and Texas is the Reason, Garrison drew from many influences to create a hyper-melodic sound that ranged from hardcore to emo — all without fitting neatly into any genre. They executed a complex and unique sound, seamlessly combining technical guitar riffs, melodic vocals, and heavy breakdowns in a way that few bands were able to achieve.

Garrison toured relentlessly, playing regularly alongside iconic bands of the era such as The Get Up Kids, Hot Water Music, Taking Back Sunday, and New Found Glory. Shortly after forming, the band found themselves signed to Revelation Records where they released their debut LP A Mile in Cold Water. The record was well received among fans and critics and made a place for itself as a notable release for the post-hardcore movement. The album opens with "After the Fight," which immediately hooks you with its melody, fast tempo, and emotional breakdowns, highlighting the band's hardcore roots and complex style. The LP rises with heavier post-hardcore moments, such as "The Dumbest Angel," and falls with several softer emo ballads, most notably on the somber closer "Favorite Goodbye Fuck."

Though Garrison went on to release numerous albums on Revelation Records and Iodine Recordings, A Mile in Cold Water remained their most significant and important release. While Garrison never broke in the same way that many of their peers did, this record clearly paved the way forward for many bands that followed in the post-hardcore and emo scenes.

Produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at God City Studio in 2001, Ballou returned in 2023 to completely remix the album to really make these songs shine the way they always intended to sound. Remastered by Jack Shirley (Quicksand, Joyce Manor) at The Atomic Garden. The album is being presented in a special gatefold jacket and features elements of the original art, and new artwork from Dan McCarthy.

Self-Made Mess is the debut album from Boston's indie rock/emo band Six Going On Seven. Out of print for over 25 years, this highly influential album helped define a genre that bridged the gap between hardcore influenced emo and indie-rock, with its complex bass and guitar harmonies and sincere vocals. Often referred to as a "band's band," Six Going on Seven came up alongside many of the household names we still discuss from the era: Jimmy Eat World, Hot Water Music, and The Get Up Kids, sharing the stage with them and many others.

Originally released on Some Records in 1997 and produced by Brian McTernan at Salad Days Studio, Self-Made Mess is being presented on a limited-edition vinyl pressing with all new artwork and remastered by Jack Shirley (Quicksand, Joyce Manor) at The Atomic Garden.

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song”. Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from TESLA include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000.

TESLA has endured many of the same taste-changing challenges that affected many in the post-grunge world, but through it all, their blue-collar work ethic and dedication to the faithful fan base has helped them not just survive, but thrive. WITHERED Announce Tour w/ Goatwhore

WITHERED are quietly chiseling away at a new album. In the meantime, the blackened death metal band are hitting the road with fellow Southern iconoclasts Goatwhore, along with blackened punks Spiter.

The tour starts this November in Arkansas. The bands will then tear through the Midwest and Northeast before barreling back down South. After a show in Withered's hometown of Atlanta and a stop in South Carolina, the tour will wrap up with three shows across Florida.

"It's been a decade since we've shared the road with GoatWhore", says Withered vocalist and guitarist Mike Thompson. "Ever since Sammy handed me their demo in '99, I've had a lot of affection for those guys. We've shared countless good times over all these years and revel in the heaviest of riffs together. From its inception, WITHERED have been an outlier. The band are a perplexing charge of extremity that the metal scene still hasn't put its finger on. 

"We're definitely a band for metal nerds", says guitarist Mike Thompson, who also handles the vocals. 

Originally formed in 2003 by Thompson and ex-guitarist/vocalist Chris Freeman, WITHERED set out to re-write black, doom and death metal mores. After 18 years and five albums, WITHERED have achieved that goal by refusing to call any one subgenre home. The band has toured with Mastodon, High on Fire, Mayhem, 1349 and Danzig. You never know what kind of mystery WITHERED are going to uncork live. Sometimes, it's a DIY kick in the gut. Other times, it's a stage soaked in bloody red and searing white lights.      

'Verloren' is WITHERED's most daring and iconoclastic offering yet. This album harkens back to the band's funeral doom roots, especially on eight-minute opener "By Tooth in Tongue". But it also features clean vocals for the first time ever.   The title, which translates to "Missing", isn't just a reference to friends, families and memories that disappear as time ticks by. It's also a reflection on the pandemic and how much the band has missed writing, recording and touring together.    

"For most people, metal is purely aesthetic, a grandstanding 'f-you' to society and an adolescent rebellion kind of thing," says Thompson. "But at the same time, we do get positive feedback from the people who have looked a bit deeper and done some research. We just want to be honest".

It makes sense that Impure Wilhelmina are fans of King Crimson. After all, the Geneva quartet have followed the British prog legends by constantly breaking the mold. For 25 years now, they've rolled hardcore riffs, velveteen cleans, atmospheric sludge and gloomy melodies into post-metal that's as sharp and versatile as a Swiss Army Knife. No wonder they've earned comparisons to KEN Mode, Paradise Lost and The Smiths.  

"We didn't really know what it would sound like to cover such a prog monument", the band said about "Fallen Angel". "But we were surprised - and also, very proud - to see how well it suited out harmonic style." 

For 25 years, Impure Wilhelmina has been shaping a singular music on the borders of rock and metal. The Geneva quartet has never been afraid to reinvent itself and to push back the stylistic barriers, without ever losing its strong identity. Intensity, melody, power and melancholy are the key words that guide the band's discography, developing record after record a subtle blend of metal, post-hardcore, new wave and indie rock sounds.

Impure Wilhelmina has experienced many line-up changes over the years around Michael Schindl, singer-guitarist, main composer and lyricist. Founded in 1996, the group quickly built a reputation in the local, then Swiss and European independent scenes. The band has released a 7″, an EP, a split and seven full-length albums (see discography).

Impure Wilhelmina has regularly collaborated with sound engineers and producers Serge Morattel (I Can't Believe I Was Born In July – 2001, L'Amour, La Mort, L'Enfance Perdue – 2004, Prayers And Arsons – 2008) and Raphaël Bovey (Black Honey – 2014, Radiation – 2017). These five albums illustrate the constant musical evolution of the band, which from a very dark and metal base gradually incorporates more rock elements. The clear vocals occupy an increasingly important place in the compositions, reinforcing the intensity and melodic depth.

In 2015, thanks to the great response to Black Honey, Impure Wilhelmina signed with the reference metal label Season of Mist, which published Radiation two years later in 2017. Skillfully navigating between melodies and dissonances, always at the service of raw emotion, this sixth album was unanimously acclaimed by the press and the public, opening the doors to wider recognition.

In 2019, the band received great reward by being one of the four recipients of the grants for contemporary music awarded by the City of Geneva. This support has enabled Impure Wilhelmina to start working on a new album with confidence and with the will to develop their sound and get out of their comfort zone. The band put a lot of efforts in the elaboration and production of its new songs, notably by calling on Yvan Bing, producer and sound engineer, to accompany the four musicians throughout the creation process. This successful collaboration began in the summer of 2019 and continued for over a year, giving rise to Impure Wilhelmina's seventh album, Antidote. Released in may 2021, this album is a testament to the creativity and versatility of the band, which never ceases to explore new horizons without ever getting lost.
 
After two European tours in 2022 (with Crippled Black Phoenix and MØL, then Shores of Null), Impure Wilhelmina focused in 2023 on the vinyl reissue of their second album "I can't believe I was born in July", for its 20th anniversary, and the release of a new EP entitled “Dead Decades”, which features three covers and two previously unreleased tracks.

Alex Hall Releases Retrospective "Her To Here" from Upcoming Album Side Effects Of The Heart

Walking the line of modern and classic with his outlaw spirit and his heart of gold, Alex Hall explores the rewards and consequences of following one’s heart on his upcoming debut album, Side Effects Of The Heart. Raised on a horse farm in North Georgia, Hall’s inspiration was born from country music legends Kris Kristofferson and Vince Gill, among others. Captivated by the art form, Hall began playing guitar at the age of 14. By 16, he had bartered a deal with his guidance counselor allowing him 60 absences in return for maintaining a passing GPA so he could begin pursuing his career. Intent on honing his skills, Hall formed a band and played over 125 dates a year across the southeast while completing his high school curriculum.
 
The influences and work ethic of his childhood drove the creation of the debut album, with a delivery reminiscent of the emotional honesty of Kristofferson, as Hall details the human experience of love, heartbreak, loneliness and what it costs to let the heart feel. 
 
Following the release of title track “
Side Effects Of The Heart,” “Women And Horses (feat. Brandy Clark),” “Dad Now,” and “I Know A Guy,” “Her to Here” is the fifth song off Hall’s debut album Side Effects Of The Heart, due Sept. 15. Growing up on a small horse farm on the outskirts of Gainesville, GA, Hall’s earliest memory is hearing Elvis Presley on is grandfather’s radio. It’s a sound he never forgot, and one that prompted him to pick up a guitar for the first time when he was only four years old. WANTED: KILLED THE COWBOY MARKS DUSTIN LYNCH’S STATEMENT RECORD

There’s a high noon showdown going on inside MULTI-PLATINUM star Dustin Lynch. At 38 and single, he’s admittedly at a crossroads: Does he settle down, start a family, and lean into domesticity, or continue to carve out a life of extraordinary experiences that most people only dream of? It's a stunningly self-aware series of questions not only for Lynch to ponder, but for single and newly single people everywhere. Through his 12-track journey – with five to his songwriting credit – on Killed The Cowboy, they’ll realize they’re not alone, thanks to highlights like the introspective “If I Stop Drinkin’,” the shadowy ballad “Blue Lights,” and the yearning come-on “Lone Star.” But they’ll also find a friend at the party via his raise-‘em-up anthems, from “Honky Tonk Heartbreaker” and “George Strait Jr.,” to “Chevrolet” – a nostalgic dirt road rocker with Lynch’s labelmate Jelly Roll.

“When I first heard ‘Killed The Cowboy,’ I was drawn to its haunting melody, and then I got to thinking about the lyric and realized, ‘Damn, I'm this guy right now in my life,’” adds Lynch. “Relationships can come in hot and heavy and then implode. You feel that roller coaster of emotion and passion, and that sparks me creatively as an artist.”

I See Stars Drop New Single + Music Video For "are we 3ven?" via Sumerian Records

Electronic hardcore pioneers I See Stars have today dropped their latest offering "are we 3ven?"and the official music video (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the inspiration behind today's release, vocalist Devin Oliver commented:

“The track 'are we 3ven?' really captures my experience on the receiving end of other people’s addictions. Over the years it has impacted my self-worth and has tested my bonds with people around me.”

Prior to today, the band released their double-single "Anomaly" and "Drift" which together have amassed over 3.72 million streams across DSPs globally and 340,000 views on YouTube. Listen to "are we 3ven?" here and watch the music video below.
