Michigan-based hard rock group Pop Evil have announced 9 new U.S. headlining tour dates this summer, including stops in Mobile, New Orleans, Colorado Springs, Minneapolis and more. Tickets to these shows go on sale to the public today, at 10 am local time. As previously announced, the band is also performing at numerous festival shows around the country this summer. The band’s new album, Skeletons, was released on March 17 via MNRK Heavy and features Ryan Kirby (Fit For a King), Blake Allison (Devour The Day), and Zillion. The 11 tracks include the single “Eye of the Storm,” which landed at the #5 Most Played Song in 2022 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart, and recent singles, “Paranoid (Crash & Burn)” (currently Top 10 at Rock Radio), and, “Dead Reckoning (Ft. Fit For A King).”

Extreme Metal Legends RINGWORM Join Nuclear Blast For Release Of 9th Album, "Seeing Through Fire"

Something brutal is coming. Amidst a resurgent, tonal wave of aggression taking place in metal, Cleveland bred pioneers of extreme atrocity RINGWORM have risen. Decades into their influential career, the band has announced their signing to Nuclear Blast Recordswith plans to release their most vicious record in decades, "Seeing Through Fire," on August 18th. 

Commenting on the band's signing to Nuclear Blast, founding vocalist Human Furnacesays:

"We couldn't be more excited, really. Getting out to a larger audience is always the goal. And after a career as long as ours, you really appreciate your opportunities when they come to you. Speaking about the record HF adds: 

“We're pretty pumped on ‘Seeing Through Fire.’ It's a total burner. It's a straight forward, "smash your face and leave you layin there wondering what you got hit with" type record. We've never felt the need to "re-invent our own wheel" but going into this one we tried some different things sonically, and we're very happy with the results. Of course, it's the intention, every time we record a new record, but we feel like the over-all sound, feel and aggression of ‘Seeing Through Fire,’ one ups many of our past records. Which, for anyone that knows our catalog, is not always an easy task. With every new record, you have to dig deeper.”

Today, the band has revealed the record's first single, a no holds barred, furious neck snapping track called "No Solace, No Quarter, No Mercy" that lays the groundwork for the impending brutality.

A different level of sound quality was accomplished with “Seeing Through Fire” as technology allowed RINGWORM to banish any previous restrictions laid upon them during the production and recording processes. Working again with Noah Buchanan of Mercinary Studios in Cleveland, this was the first time everything, including vocals, was all recorded in that same space.
 
With SEEING THROUGH FIRE recorded and artwork prepped, the album was packaged and ready to go when Nuclear Blast Records became aware of RINGWORM’s motivation to unleash it in 2023. “We’re fortunate to be able to work with Nuclear Blast, especially at this stage. It opens up a lot of doors for us, and a lot more people can hear what we do. We’re looking forward to working with them; it’s nice having their team, their machine, built around us.”

The Neal Agency Signs Aidan Canfield

When Aidan Canfield arrived in January with his debut album We’re Young, Alright, the singer-songwriter hailing from Pleasantville, New York – who penned all 12 of the project’s tracks by himself – moved to Nashville to be as close to Country music as possible. Attracting third generation country music booking agent and artist advocate Austin Neal due to his unique sound and storytelling, Canfield has officially signed with The Neal Agency (TNA). 
 
"The second I stepped into The Neal office, it felt like a family,” shares Canfield. “Everybody there sees it as more than a job and they are all truly passionate about each artist. I couldn't be more excited to build my career with such great people around me at The Neal Agency!”

Canfield’s artistry infuses a unique combination of Rock and Country influences from the sounds that he grew up on – a little bit of Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen, a little bit of Kenny Chesney meets Zach Bryan. His heartfelt lyrics and melodies have struck a chord of relatability he’s witnessed on the road on support dates with Riley Green and, most recently, the Cameron Sacky Band.
 
Featured in country music YouTuber and critic Grady Smith’s “Best Music Under the Radar of 2023,” Canfield’s growing popularity has also led to his first CMA Fest performance on the Hard Rock Stage set for Sunday, June 11.

Pittsburgh extreme metal enigma Hazing Over have released their second single "Disavowed" from their upcoming EP Tunnel Vision. Speaking on the track, guitarist and songwriter Owen Traynor says, "'Disavowed' is our first song with clean singing and concludes the juxtaposition of internal and external panic explored throughout the record."

For Tunnel Vision, the group teamed up with producer Taylor Young [Twitching Tongues, God’s Hate] and recorded the six-track collection at The Pit Recording Studio in Van Nuys, CA. During this time, the band leveled up from every angle. Today the Monument Records recording artist announced the release of his debut album Side Effect Of The Heart coming Sept. 15, 2023. Raised on a horse farm in North Georgia, Hall’s inspiration was born from country music legends Kris Kristofferson and Vince Gill, among others. Captivated by the art form, Hall began playing guitar at the age of 14. By 16, he had bartered a deal with his guidance counselor allowing him 60 absences in return for maintaining a passing GPA so he could begin pursuing his career. Intent on honing his skills, Hall formed a band and played over 125 dates a year across the southeast while completing his high school curriculum.
 
The influences and work ethic of his childhood drove the forthcoming project, with a delivery reminiscent of the emotional honesty of Kristofferson, as Hall hopes to detail the human experience of love, heartbreak, loneliness and what it costs to let the heart feel.

We wrote the song about my upbringing on a small horse farm back home in North Georgia and how the beauty and strength of a horse reminds me of the same beauty and strength of the women in my life like my Momma, my Sister and my Wife. I wouldn’t be the man I am without them or the horses that helped shape me."

Canadian alternative pop artist Apricity presents her new single 'Allison Wonderland', a clever adrenaline-filled composition about imagining and seeking the type of relationship, love and companion you most want. A song that is, at the same time, a light forewarning about creating that *perfect* person in your mind.

With an edge reminiscent of early Avril Lavigne and fueled by the creative inspiration of artists like Shirley Manson, Alanis Morrissette and Debbie Harry, Apricity dishes out attitude and melody in equal amounts.

Now based in Greater Toronto, Apricity was born and spent her formative years in Scotland, where she had her first foray into the entertainment world, auditioning for Britain’s iconic Top of the Pops, appearing on kids’ TV programs like Fun Factory, not to mention pageant shows and eventually musical theatre.

The accompanying video, which was produced by Jesse Read and directed by Apricity with Dropout Entertainment was filmed at various locations in Ontario, including the Templin Garden in Fergus with its open-air romantic spaciousness and gothic stonemasonry, and the tea party scene in the Puslinch township in south-central Ontario.

"We started filming this during the end of the pandemic and finished late last year. We scouted many locations for this, but couldn't get the right *feel* until we found The Templin Gardens in Fergus. The feeling needs to be there. It needs to suit the song and mood and what we are trying to create," says Apricity.

"My previous videos also have the fantasy-telling story factor, so this is a continuation in that sense. I want to create a story that leads the audience into a different world. Obviously the name of the song suits the visuals we created, with a little twist of Tim Burton-esque horror blended in".

As of June 2, 'Allison Wonderland' will be available across fine music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Due to overwhelming demand and following a sold-out opening weekend, legendary rockers TESLA have added five additional shows to their highly-anticipated TESLA: The Las Vegas Residency at House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Celebrating their 36 years of entertaining rock audiences around the world, TESLA: The Las Vegas Residency will add five additional dates, beginning with Friday, Sept. 29, 2023.

During their exclusive residency, TESLA will touch all sides of their unique discography including the heavier edge of electric songs like “Modern Day Cowboy,” “Hang Tough,” and “Edison’s Medicine,” as well as their acoustic driven songs such as “Signs” and “Love Song” (two Top 10 Billboard charting hits).

“We are very excited to be able to perform consecutive nights residing at the same venue because we plan to dig into our catalog and change up our set lists for each show,” said Frank Hannon, TESLA lead guitarist. “This will make it interesting for our loyal fans who will attend in the spectacular city of Las Vegas!”

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song”. Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLAhelped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from TESLA include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000 and recently debuted their new single, “Time To Rock!”

Saint Agnes are also making big waves in the gaming world, with the release of Dead Island 2 last month. The game, which features the Saint Agnes song "And They All Fall Down" has sold over two million copies.

Hailing from the UK, Saint Agnes are all about honest lyrics, intense vocal performances, plus rage-fuelled music intended to give a voice to those closer to the fringe than the center.

As much gang as band, Saint Agnes seek to empower those who've been battered and bruised yet refuse to lie down, and it's a thread that runs deep within Bloodsuckers — SA's first album for Spinefarm and the follow-up to 2019's Welcome To Silvertown, issued on the band's own label.
 
In addition to … Silvertown, Saint Agnes have released a number of singles, videos, and EPs, embarked on headline tours in both the UK and Europe, and appeared at a host of festivals, including Download, 2000trees, Isle of Wight, and Kendal Calling.

One thing's for sure, it's got nothing to do with rule-books or playing it safe...

From the title track onwards, Bloodsuckers is a genre-jumping body of work, taking in elements of metal, punk, industrial, and grunge, without being bound by any specific style; the 11 tracks here come straight from the source, largely self-produced and mixed (NIN collaborator Sean Bevan lends his mixing and production skills to "Follow You"), and this self-contained approach provides an extra emotional weight throughout, with doom trap provocateur and Kerrang! cover artist Mimi Barks further fuelling the chaos on the short, sharp shock that is "Body Bag."

Created in the months following the unexpected and untimely death of Kitty's mother, Bloodsuckers explores a number of themes, including mental illness, pent-up rage, undying love and, of course, grief; from the trash-metal howl into the night that is "Bloodsuckers" right through to broken ballad, "This Is Not The End," a poignant reflection of Kitty’s still-raw emotions, this is a call to outsiders everywhere...

Concludes Kitty, "Creating this album gave me a reason to get to my feet at a time when I really wasn't sure if I could. I've tried to put everything I've been feeling into it, all the pain, the rage, the grief, even the unexpected moments of beauty and belief. I hope it makes you feel less alone. I hope it makes you feel bigger, badder, and stronger. We might be damaged but that doesn't mean we're worthless. This is a record for the defeated, the crushed. Necrofier premiere new album with full album stream

NECROFIER are streaming 'Burning Shadows in the Southern Night' in full over on Black Metal Promotion. Bask in the dark and fiery glory of all ten tracks HERE.

'Burning Shadows in the Southern Night' makes strides where second albums often stumble. It doubles down on the heavy metal guitar workouts that made this scorching black metal band's first album unique. But while these Texans still honor the malignant virtues of black metal, this time around, they switched things up by taking an old-school approach to the studio. Their new album was produced by GRAMMY nominee Joel Hamilton, whose nimble hand makes these songs sound lean and thunderous.

"Joel is one of the world's best engineers" says Christian "Bakka" Larson, the band's vocalist and guitarist. "He wanted to record something heavy, so we made the trip to New York City to record at legendary Studio G."

"With a full vintage Neve front end and a host of Telefunken and Neumann microphones, we tracked the record the old way", adds drummer Dobber Beverly.

With its sweltering melodic leads, lead single "Burnt by the Sacred Flame" already showed what separates NECROFIER  from their contemporaries. But the album packs plenty more heat. It opens with ominous piano and mournful, operatic vocals before plummeting into the raging void of "Total Southern Darkness". "Whispers That Burn in the Dark" is whipped along by blast beats that pound the air like a horde of bats, while the merciless climb of "Destroying Angels" is spearheaded by Bakka's demonic roar.

"Texas has a style all of its own," Bakka says. "We are always trying to outdo the rest of the world".

Deep within the scorching cauldron of Texas, the alchemists of Necrofier have brewed another potent dose of American black metal with their sophomore full-length, ‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night.’ The Houston four-piece honors the time-tested virtues of traditional black and heavy metal, even taking an organic sonic approach, tapping seven-time Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Joel Hamilton (Unsane, Tom Waits, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, etc.) to lend his magic touch for a natural sound. 

“The goal going into the new record was to start setting ourselves apart from our contemporaries,” explains Necrofier drummer Dobber Beverly. “One of those ways was changing what the record sounded like. Moving away from the clinical and sterile nature that most productions suffer from and back into a real room with real instruments and performances. Our friend and esteemed producer/engineer Joel Hamilton had expressed interest in venturing back into the metal world and offered to make the record with us at his facility, Studio G Brooklyn. The results will speak for themselves hopefully, as this record breathes and spits fire wherever it’s played.” 

“Dobber and Joel have become good friends since they recorded the last Oceans of Slumber album with him, adds Necrofier guitarist and vocalist Bakka. "After that, Joel wanted to record something heavy, so we made the trip to New York City to record in his legendary studio. It was an amazing experience in a great studio; besides having all the gear, he also created an environment where we challenged ourselves and brought everything up to the next level.” 

‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night’ doesn’t just simply pick off where Necrofier’s debut album left off, but displays a conscientious effort to double down on the elements that made ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness’ successful. The solos are more plentiful and intricate, the hooks are more anthemic, and the overall musicianship is bolder and more daring. Speaking of the band’s evolution, Bakka explains, “I think this collection of songs represents us very well. We have grown together as a band and it shows in the new songs. Also, for this record we flew to NYC and recorded all day long for 10 days straight. I love recording this way because it captures a certain magic. The whole band is immersed in the process and it's all we would think, do, live and breathe during the process.” 

Another core facet of Necrofier’s allure is being a black metal band from Texas. “Where you live always helps shape someone,” says Bakka. “It helps shape our style and tone in ways, it’s hot most of the year, so as we burn, it gives us warmer tones and more of a heavy metal influence than when compared to our brothers from the North."

To that avail, Necrofier isn’t your typical black metal band, and so this isn’t your typical black metal record as there’s a healthy amount of traditional metal influences, particularly within the guitar work. While conceptually, the band doesn’t heavily rely on Satanic themes, exploring deeper human philosophies and the occult like burning for your dreams or spiraling out on a psychedelic trip and exploring the beyond. “While there isn’t overt satanic worship in the lyrics, I would still say that he is a friend of ours,” Bakka cheekily says. “There are Occult themes on this record, but at the same time, it does take a philosophical approach.” 

Further illustrating the influence of their environment, Necrofier also heavily explores one of Southern America’s most fabled myths. “The new record touches on selling your soul at the crossroads,” adds Bakka. “I like to take a different approach and touch on the elements of the esoteric world and dive into the forbidden or hidden that surrounds us in our lives every day.” 

As the Texan black metal outlaws saddle up for record two, they are leading the charge as one of the contemporary purveyors of black metal revivalism. ‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night’ is certain to elicit a sense of nostalgia for those who dare to lay ears on this vicious new offering.

ABOUT DEATH RAY VISION:
Commencing writing in late 2018 following a tour with Killswitch Engage — who share bassist Mike D'Antonio with DRV — the band had a lot of creative momentum still burning following that year's Negative Mental Attitude and kept it rolling.  The results will demonstrate that they are playing at the top of their game.  "We're a lot more cohesive as a band after playing together for so many years, and we've gotten better at songwriting and collaborating to bring out the best in everyone’s ideas," says guitarist Pete Cortese.

A further new dimension affecting the sound is the addition of vocalis Bennett to the band's ranks, who the existing members knew would be the perfect fit from his time with notable acts Wrecking Crew, Panzerbastard (both of whom shared the stage with Cortese and D'Antonio's other band Overcast), and Ramallah. "Keith brings a whole lot of piss and vinegar, with a side of street cred. He brought a new sense of enthusiasm and excitement and got us even more fired up to make a great record," says Cortese. Guitarist Chris Rosatiadds, "Creatively speaking, Keith is a force of nature. His ability to get inside a new song and quickly come up with vocals and lyrics is really something to witness." 

Lyrically, No Mercy From Electric Eyes is a more politically charged record than their previous releases - “it’s more pissed off, and anyone paying attention to the state of the world can understand why,” says Cortese - but it’s also deeply personal for Bennett. “Every word I’m singing is from the heart,” says the vocalist. “I should have been dead a few years ago, I’m here for a reason. These lyrics are a direct line to how I feel, how I live, what I see."

When it came to tracking, drummer Colin Conway laid down his parts at Mad Oak studio with long time associate Benny Grotto, while everything else was recorded, engineered and produced by Rosati at his home studio, Mass Metal Studios.

The record is wrapped up with a title drawn from the lyrics of one of the tracks — Cortese pointing out that it makes perfect sense given their band name - and vivid artwork courtesy of D'Antonio, which according to the bassist stems from the idea "of 'being under the thumb of an ethereal overlord.' The fear of knowing the 'master' is watching your every move, from a short distance away. In this world, only obedience is accepted and absolutely no mercy is given to those who fail.” Having poured so much of their hearts and souls into No Mercy From Electric Eyes, the band hope to play the songs live as much as possible, and have aspirations of touring outside of the US for the first time, but at the end of the day they are proud of what they have achieved and believe they are worth giving a damn about, because they give a damn about everything they do. "We made a great record that doesn’t sound like many contemporary metal bands," says Cortese. "It's heavy as fuck without having to rely on drop Z tuning, and it's a great balance of aggressive and melodic without sounding contrived.”

Bass, percussion, drums and turntables take center stage on this track, with a New York sound that channels the energy and vibrancy of the city.

'Reverberations' is the third collaboration between Nevaris, Bill Laswell and this lineup of musicians (with the addition of Matt Dickey), here focusing more on the dub aspects of their sound.

A musician and visual artist, Nevaris is a percussionist, keyboardist, vocalist and composer, who is heavily influenced by Afro-Latin, dub, and funk music. Born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, he is of European and Mexican descent with multi-generational roots in both NYC and LA's Echo Park neighborhood.

Prior to recording 'Reverberations', Nevaris recorded and performed with an evolving lineup of musicians under the name Loud Apartment, most notably Bernie Worrell of P-Funk and Talking Heads fame.

"This record builds on the momentum from 'System Breakdown' and 'New Future', which we released in 2020 and 2022 as Loud Apartment. There were dub aspects of those recordings, so Bill Laswell and I decided to create a recording entirely focused on that sound. It was a logical next step and came together in an organic way. We let the music go where it needed to go," says Nevaris.

"It's a dub-based project, with breakbeat, funk, ambient, and afro-latin elements. It’s rhythm based music where the pocket is essential. Lockatron is a huge part of that, as, of course, is Bill Laswell, DJ Logic and everyone else involved. Peter Apfelbaum’s horn arrangements are also a core aspect. In my mind, it's a cohesive piece of music that is best listened to as a whole rather than as individual songs. And Bill takes it where it needs to go with the production like no one else really can."

In addition to his work as a musician, Nevaris is a visual and multimedia artist, who has worked on a vast array of creative projects across mediums. He also co-founded Nolej Records, Nolej Studios and the Uncomun Festival.

On June 2, 'Reverberations' will be available from fine digital music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where 'Dub Sol' and 'Interference' can already be downloaded.

About Violent J:

Violent J is an American rapper, record producer, professional wrestler, actor, writer, director, and one half of the multi gold and platinum selling hip-hop group The Insane Clown Posse. He is also the co-founder of Psychopathic Records, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, and The Gathering of The Juggalos Music Festival.

Violent J started his career in the mid 1980s in the backyard and independent wrestling circuits. By the late 80s he began spending more and more time on music until that became his only focus in life. In 1991 Insane Clown Posse and Psychopathic Records were born. By 1995 ICP had received their first big label record contract and became a national touring band.

In 1997 Insane Clown Posse found national fame when their controversial album The Great Milenko was pulled off record store shelves just 4 hours after its release. For most of the first 10 years of ICP’s career they had always experienced an uphill battle. Generally never receiving any radio play, video play, or respect from their peers in the music industry. By 2010 that had finally changed, and they became part of pop culture.

Violent J continues to release new music with ICP and currently has just released his 4th solo project Bloody Sunday. Now in his prime, Violent J has no plans of ever slowing down and will continue to entertain the masses from now until the end of time.

As the hits of the world keep coming, so does ripe new material from 3TEETH. Today, the modern industrial act provides another tempting taste of their anticipated new album with the release of “Slum Planet,” featuring production from DOOM composer Mick Gordon. It’s featured alongside a gripping new video from one of Hollywood’s leading directors Matteo Santoro (who grew up with 3TEETH frontman Alexis Mincolla).

Repeating the anthemically charged chorus, “I don’t care if you live or you die, as long as you’re willing to buy,” the song takes aim at the ills of a sick planet obsessed with over-consumption at all costs, further admonished in an attention-grabbing mid-track diatribe from frontman and creative lead Alexis Mincolla. 

As Mincolla explains the track, ”An ecosystem? More like an ego-system. ‘Slum Planet’ is a monument to the hubris of mankind, to the ruthless exploitation of nature in the name of progress, to the willful blindness of those who chose profits over preservation.”

 “Slum Planet” continues 3TEETH’s series of monthly teases leading up to their anticipated fourth album coming soon via Century Media Records (with more details to be announced soon).

It follows the May 3 release of their explosive return to the fold with “Merchant of the Void,” hailed as a one of the “best new songs” by Metal Hammer and Revolver. While Metal Hammer says the song “traces lineage in both Al Jourgensen and Trent Reznor,” Revolver hails the song as “utterly gigantic and over-the-top in the best way possible” and applauds the return of 3TEETH in 2023 at a time “when we needed their apocalyptic, incendiary industrial-metal most.”

To lay the foundation for the new material, 3TEETH migrated to the deserted quiet of Joshua Tree, escaping from the palpable anxiety of their hometown of Los Angeles for fresh new perspective. The material is currently being wrapped up with a solid extended team including the accomplished sound designer Mick Gordon (best known for his work on the gaming phenomenon DOOM) who produced several of the tracks along with producer Nick Rowe and mixer Sean Beavan (NIN), bringing in another dimension to the band’s unmistakable sound.

Says Gordon, “3TEETH are one of my favorite acts. They proudly fly their own unique flag. The new album charts course through the next stage of our vanity-led evolution as a species, and by that I mean the album is a world unto itself. I’m just stoked that these guys have allowed me along for the ride.”

3TEETH first manifested their cybersocial intentions as early as 2013: a musical entity born out of Mincolla’s Downtown L.A. weekly gatherings known as “Lil’ Death” With Xavier Swafford (keys, synth), Chase Brawner (guitars) and Andrew Means (bass, synth) joining Mincolla. 3TEETH released their first self-titled album the following year. The Telly Awards, known for honoring the best in video and television across all screens, have recognized the “Way Down Yonder” music video, directed by Kaiser Cunningham and produced by Twelve Midnight, with an impressive array of awards. Praised by CMT for its ability to “transport listeners to a 19-century saloon,” the single-take video earned the following accolades:
