Drawing inspiration from the traditions of chamber music, ETERNAL RECURRENCE present an alternative perspective on modern symphonic metal. Born in the mid-1990s within the local Pittsburgh scene, Lowsunday (initially known as Low Sunday Ghost Machine) emerged as a "retro-futurist" pioneer, blending darkwave and shoegaze long before the genres saw their modern revival. Their legacy was cemented with their debut album 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine' and the 1999 masterpiece 'Elesgiem', both of which were re-released via Projekt Records over the past 18 months (for their 30th and 25th anniversaries, respectively).

The band dissolved, leaving behind a cult reputation for mercurial sounds and blistering guitar work that set the stage for subsequent generations of alternative artists. Following a nearly 25-year period of inactivity, the band resurfaced as a duo in 2025—consisting of original members Shane Sahene (vocals, guitar, synth, bass, drums) and Bobby Spell (bass, guitar, drums).

"This is one of my favorite songs on the White EP. These lyrics are related to an increasing sense of apathy in the world - how it feels like even love isn’t enough sometimes and yet, the only fate worse is to let go of it. The feeling that happiness can be delicate and unhappiness can be so determined to take its place," says Shane Sahene.

"This song touches on very early influences and the recording captured some of the most unique guitar tones we've ever used. What's unusual is that, separately, Bobby had been working on a bass line and I had been playing this guitar part. It was serendipitous in how well they went together to form this song"

'Nevver' is a case in point, showcasing the band's legacy of creative experimentation and talent for weaving counter-culture cadences and weightless production with a sense of visceral vulnerability.

Bobby Spell shares, "Nevver was enjoyable for the two of us to compose. I had been playing with this menacing bass line that happened to be a perfect match for a guitar part Shane had been working on. It gave us an opportunity to explore darker tones and indicated the need for a more sparce production. The almost plodding tempo made this song more challenging and fun, imbuing it with a combination of creepy darkness with a dash of humor."

Serving as both a reflection and a resurgence, the 'White EP' ushers in a welcome return, marked by superb production and a renewed creative clarity, bridging three decades of distinct sonic legacy with balanced doses of escapism, dreamlike sounds, drones and feedback. This first of a two new EPs planned this year, their crystalline shimmer, classic song structures and melodic hooks shows their atmospheric sound to be as timeless and relevant as ever.

Expanding their sonic palette, the 'White EP' elevates the distorted melodies, electronic layers, and haunting vocals that defined Lowsunday's earlier work. A bold evolution into more cavernous soundscapes, oscillating between walls of chaotic feedback and fragile, ethereal passages, their resurgence delves into shadowy and vast acoustic realms, shifting from abrasive ripples of distortion to brittle, shoegaze-infused moments of intense longing.

ROMAN CANDLE Announce Debut Album; Drop New Single & Music Video "Blasphemous Act"

Written in the final hours of the album sessions, "Blasphemous Act" arrived too loud and too late to leave behind. Built on raw, unfiltered vocals and dynamics that coil and crack under barely controlled pressure, the track maps the exact moment devotion tips feral, channelling obsession and retribution into something cathartic, unhinged, and ending in a repeated "run for your life" refrain that hits like a full stop.

The title came from a Magic: The Gathering card. The song went somewhere darker. Piper explains:

"'Blasphemous Act' was the last song we wrote for the record, and it hit with such ferocity that it forced its way onto the album in the eleventh hour. The name came from a Magic: The Gathering card, but the song took on a life of its own — this unhinged, teeth-bared spiral of obsession and retribution. Lines like 'your neck in my teeth is all that I need' and 'karma is owed, paid in full' captured a darker, more primal side of the band that we didn't even know we were still capable of tapping into. By the time it explodes into that repeated 'run for your life' refrain, it felt clear: the record wouldn't be complete without this song."

International Mesopotamian metal pioneers MELECHESH have unveiled their new single, “In Shadows, In Light,” taken from the band’s forthcoming digital EP Sentinels Of Shamash, scheduled for release on April 10th via Reigning Phoenix Music.

“In Shadows, In Light” continues MELECHESH’s tradition of weaving esoteric philosophy, ancient symbolism, and relentless sonic power into a singular musical experience. The track explores hidden cosmic knowledge and the subtle forces shaping perception and reality.

Speaking about the song, the band comments:

“‘In Shadows, In Light’ explores cosmic knowledge hidden in plain sight — parallel dimensions, sacred geometry, and veiled currents of existence revealed only through perception. Drawing on esoteric and Kabalistic thought, the song moves between concealment and revelation.

Structured as a journey with shifting acts and moods, it unfolds through tension, release, and transformation. Each passage reveals another layer of vision, where shadow and illumination coexist, and the unseen becomes ‘felt’ rather than explained.”

Musically, the track embodies MELECHESH’s hallmark fusion of blackened thrash, Middle Eastern scales, and hypnotic rhythmic patterns, guiding listeners through an evolving sonic landscape that mirrors the song’s philosophical themes. After 17 years of trailblazing, Stoned Jesus are still reaching new creative peaks. Last year, the heavy progressive rockers embarked on an expansive three-album journey that will take them from the sun to the moon and back. Songs to Sun, the trilogy’s mind-melting opener, was named one of the best albums of 2025 by Doom Charts, Rock Hard, The Obelisk, Weedian, Metal Lair and other publications. While the second album is fast approaching on the horizon, the trio are now firing up the engine with their latest road-burning anthem ahead of a co-headlining European tour with Wheel.

Today, Stoned Jesus are releasing a new video for “See You On The Road”. While the song reflects the wear and tear of life on tour, the accompanying footage from the band’s recent treks across Australia and South America is the perfect place for the song’s headbanging riffs and shout-along chorus.

SCISSORS" is the second single from the band's upcoming album Volume 2.

This latest single takes a different turn from the band's first single "ICE CREAM CONE," which was more of a playful blues rock song about a girl's new crush. "SCISSORS," however, is about a Trad-Con's vengeance on a couple of L.A players, one being a weightlifter, and the other being a filmmaker who played with her just a little too hard, turning her into the village 304. Many fans will recognize the song as a cross between punk and old school hard rock, with all of the elements of classic B.O.S tones found in many of their writings.

The B.O.S., comprised of Tom Neely (guitars), Adi Argelazi (lead vocals), Dylan Wilson (bass), Matt Lesser (drums), and Dave Schulz (keys), has been rocking out since 2002. APOSTLE Release New Single and Video "Distortions of Light"

"Distortions of Light" is the new single and video to arrive from ATLANTA, GA metal trio APOSTLE. With a sound designed to encourage emotional connection and catharsis, APOSTLE entwine elements from grindcore and hardcore, post-black metal, shoegaze and post-rock. The band's upcoming full-length album A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, is set for release on June 5, 2026 via Terminus Hate City.

"Distortions of Light" begins with a recording of E.E. Cummings offering advice to students and aspiring writers. As he states, “…but the moment you feel, you are nobody but yourself”, it is here that APOSTLE's sonic expression takes charge.

The musical arrangement is intended to evoke a sense of unease, "the listener is cast without reason into a world of darkness and confusion, the song lurches forward through a barren wasteland of murky and ominous melodies" the band explain. Melodies "beckon the listener like a will-o’-the-wisp to follow down some unseen path to discover what lies beyond the distortions of light."

The imagery and metaphor of the narrative, as envisioned by APOSTLE, is rooted in the concept of reality being represented by a giant diamond suspended in the sky. The album title references Carl Jung’s description of humanity as a “splinter in the infinite deity,” framing the record as an exploration of spiritual duality, grief, and self-examination. Across six tracks and 27 minutes, the band move through themes of loss, mortality, internal conflict, and eventual healing. The record serves as both a meditation on the human condition and a deeply personal tribute shaped by grief and remembrance.

SABATON RELEASE BATTLE-READY NEW SINGLE + MUSIC VIDEO "YAMATO" IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WORLD OF WARSHIPS

Making another major move and breaking down walls once again, the Swedish masters of heavy metal Sabaton have joined forces with leading historically accurate naval multiplayer game, World of Warships, and released a brand new single and music video entitled "Yamato" — available in-game and on all DSPs now. It is being released by BETTER NOISE MUSIC on the heels of 2025'sLEGENDS, which marked Sabaton's first album for the label. "Crossing The Rubicon" (Feat. Nothing More) from the album was also the band's first-ever Top 10 single on the Billboard Rock Chart.

This song notably marks the second World of Warships collaboration between the band and developer Wargaming following the mega-popular "Bismarck." For the first time, a Sabaton-branded Yamato is also available in World of Warships in addition to dialogue by vocalist Joakim Brodén and bassist Pär Sundström. Along with different bespoke items in game, Joakim Brodén can take the helm of the ship while the standard battle soundtrack replaced by “Yamato” or “Bismarck”, transforming every engagement into an epic metal experience.

As history will tell you, "Yamato" was the name of a massive Japanese battleship constructed in-secret and unveiled during 1941 as the most dominant vessel of its kind. Designed to win at naval warfare, it represented the ultimate floating symbol of strength. In 1945, it famously hit the high seas on a suicide mission to defend Okinawa. Despite ceaseless fire from aircraft above and an opposing fleet of a far greater number on the water, the "Yamato" and its crew never gave up. Instead, they literally battled until the bitter end when a huge explosion rendered a deathblow to the ship. It sank in a blaze of glory…

As part of the alliance with World of Warships and Wargaming, the band filmed the accompanying music video in Belgrade, Serbia last October. Quite fittingly, it depicts Sabaton aboard the titular ship during its last stand, descending into the unforgiving ocean as the band hangs on for dear life. Waves consume the deck, but each member keeps playing his instrument even as the chaos swallows the guys up one-by-one.

Testing their mettle in real-life, the musicians faced brutally frigid temperatures, weathering a continuous blast of ice-cold water for the duration of the shoot. The band remained submerged in freezing waters with the help of ventilators. Pushing it to the max, the guys even wore weights beneath their stage clothes to truly evoke the sensation of sinking. Maintaining the highest level of safety protocol, professional divers assisted Sabaton throughout.

ATAVISTIA Present New Single “Seeker of Time", Ahead of The Upcoming Album Old Gods Awaken

ATAVISTIA embrace an adventurous spirit in the magical new single "Seeker of Time". Accompanied with a lyric video this is the latest offering to land ahead of the forthcoming album Old Gods Awaken, set for release on May 15th, 2026 via Blood Blast Distribution.

Leaning further into folk metal realms, ATAVISTIA's new compositions delve into an array of folk tales and fantasy-led themes. “'Seeker of Time' is our first song to not be written in the 1st person perspective". The band reveal. "It tells the story of a sorcerer’s pursuit of time."

Musically, this track delivers a shorter and sharper impact driven primarily by a riff-focused structure. It's powerful and explosive while remaining characterful as ATAVISTIA seamlessly blend folk metal with a blackened edge. The narrative behind "Seeker of Time" is aptly portrayed through the instrumental arrangements, along with the wider themes of Old Gods Awaken, to ensure the effect is one that is fully immersive.

"Seeker of Time" follows the celebratory mood of their first single "Mystic Tavern", presenting fans with a further glimpse into the alluring world of Old Gods Awaken.

Due out May 15th, 2026, Old Gods Awaken runs 43 minutes and 21 seconds and represents the uplifting first chapter of a two album concept. Incorporating Swedish and Finnish lyrics for the first time in the band’s catalog, the album draws from Nordic heritage and mythic atmosphere while delivering some of ATAVISTIA’s most memorable hooks to date.
