Lord Of The Lost Join Savage Lands on Breathtaking New Single

As Savage Lands prove on their breathtaking new single,  metalheads aren't ones to back down from a fight. After witnessing how land developers are tearing down Costa Rica's rain forest, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and his old guitarist Sylvain Demercastel decided they weren't going to sit around and rust in peace. In 2022, they started Savage Lands, the music industry's first artist-run environmental non-profit.

Using the money that's generated by their music, Savage Lands has preserved 100,000 square feet of Costa Rican rain forest. 100% of the royalties from the organization's star-studded album, Army of the Trees, support their ongoing preservation projects in Costa Rica and other countries. But as they warn on their crushing new single with Lord Of The Lost and Chloe Trujillo, if we don't act fast and protect our ecosystems, then pretty soon, we won't just be out of time. We'll be out of breath.

"Out of Breath" marks the first time that Lord Of The Lost and Savage Lands have appeared together on a record, but the Eurovision darlings are one of the organization's earliest supporters. "When Sylvain Demercastel and Dirk Verbeuren introduced us to Savage Lands at Hellfest in 2023, we instantly saw the passion and necessity behind this endeavor and were absolutely thrilled by the opportunity", says Chris Harms and Pi Stoffers from Lord Of The Lost. "Music can not only offer a refuge to every single person on this earth, but it can be used as a sanctuary for the existential nature around us".

The video tones down the glam and glitter with its dystopian footage, but Harms screams with bloody conviction alongside the explosive wails of Black Bomb A and Savage Lands vocalist Poun. "We loved writing this song, as it was yet again another stylistic facet that we haven't necessarily touched already", Lord Of The Lost continues. The song's bridge craters under the cavernous weight of Harms' death growls. "We're left for dead". 

But not all hope is lost. From the ashes of Stoffers' smoldering solo alights a familiar voice. "Look at the sky", beckons Chloe Trujillo, who reprises her mystic role from earlier single "Black Rock Heart". "A place to breath / People and trees". It's a chilling reminder of all we stand to lose.

The Devil Wears Prada Announce Spring 2025 Metalcore Spring Break Tour + Share Video for Acoustic Version of "Chemical"

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA will return to the road this Spring! The Metalcore Spring Break Tour will kick off April 17 in Wichita, Kansas and runs through
May 14 in Charleston, South Carolina.  ERRA, Kingdom of Giants, and Acres will serve as support. 

The band will also appear at Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville along the way.

Reborn PATRIARKH (formerly Batushka) returns with

a masterpiece of arcane black metal!

'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' details a true story that happened in the band’s home area of Podlasie, in the village of Grzybowszczyzna, in the 1930s and 40s. The album takes the listener into the world of Eliasz Klimowicz, the titular Prophet Ilja, an illiterate peasant who was the leader of the Orthodox Grzybowska Sect, active until the 1960s, cultivating and transmitting the history of the self-proclaimed prophet. PATRIARKH spread their gospel by using an arsenal of folk instruments, such as tagelharpa, mandolin, mandocello, hurdy-gurdy, and stringed dulcimer, and worked with a symphony orchestra and choirs to give their new creations the most organic and vivid feeling possible. As is trademark with PATRIARKH’s music, Orthodox sacredness is mixed with black and doom metal, now largely enriched with folk music, neo-dark folk, and even film music. The band utilizes the entire palette of Orthodox music, venturing into the areas of Byzantine monody, liturgical chant, and Russian polyphony, neatly adapting folk and liturgical melodies to their own style.

“With this new release, we are starting a new chapter in our history - not only is our name changing, but our music is also undergoing a natural evolution. The story on the album encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone, we reached for means that we had not used before in our music. Many of you will wonder if this is still black metal? The lyrical side of 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' is an interesting mix of theater and pastoralism. PATRIARKH uses fragments of texts from the theater play "Prorok Ilja" and draws from the messages contained in the works of Włodzimierz Pawluczuk, combining it with folk and liturgical texts. On 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ,' listeners can hear various languages – and Polish for the first time ever! The album was recorded in January and May 2024 at Tall Pine Records (Behemoth, Zalewski, Afromental), Heinrich House (Behemoth, Vesania, Hate), Wem Studio (Kasa Chorych, Lukasyno, Cira), and Radio Białystok studio. Mixing and mastering was handled by Wojciech Wiesławski at Hertz Studio (Vader, Behemoth, Decapitated), and production was helmed by band mastermind and leading vocalist Bartłomiej "Варфоломей" Krysiuk. “ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ is an album full of emotions, sentimentalism and folklore. It’s pastoral, lyrical, epic, multidimensional, and multicolored, just like my Podlasie is multicolored,” says Варфоломей. Arch Enemy Share Video For Title Track "Blood Dynasty" — WATCH

TAK MATSUMOTO GROUP New Album 'TMG II' OUT NOW via Frontiers Music Srl

TAK MATSUMOTO GROUP (TMG), the internationally acclaimed project formed by guitar virtuoso Tak Matsumoto, returns with the new album 'TMG II,' out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

After a 20-year hiatus, TMG returns with original members Tak Matsumoto (guitarist and member of the Japanese rock superstars B’z), Jack Blades (Night Ranger), and Eric Martin(Mr. Big), reigniting the powerhouse trio’s signature rock sound. Originally launched in 2004, TMG wowed fans worldwide with their unique fusion of hard-hitting rock and oriental influences. Now, after two decades, they’re set to do it all again.

Tak Matsumoto explains how the project came to life:

“Twenty-one years ago, I met Jack and Eric at The Fillmore in San Francisco. I suggested we collaborate, and that’s how TMG was born. We came together in LA to write our first single, 'OH JAPAN', which sparked the creation of our debut album, 'TMG I', and an incredible tour throughout Japan, ending with a memorable performance at the Budokan. Though we’ve stayed in touch, life pulled us in different directions, and two decades slipped by. In 2022, I reached out with a proposal to reunite.

“Now, in 2024, TMG has completed our latest album, 'TMG II,' featuring the talented drummer Matt Sorum. We’re excited to share this album, a blend of Japanese and American musical sensibilities. We hope you enjoy it!”, adds Matsumoto.

“I was the singer of the Tak Matsumoto group in 2004. We had an incredible experience, writing / recording a heavy melodic hard rock state of the art sounding record that went platinum, sold out tour all over Japan, It was perfect timing and one of the biggest highlights of my life”, states Eric Martin.

“Tak Matsumoto is the guitarist, main composer, producer of B’z!, the best music selling Rock act in Japan! Tak Matsumoto originally formed TMG in 2004, bringing together rock legends Eric Martinand Jack Blades. Their debut album, 'TMG I,' was a smash hit, topping the Oricon National Chart and spawning the single “Oh Japan – Our Time Is Now”, which became a theme song for Japanese television.

The group embarked on a sold-out tour across Japan, culminating in a legendary finale at the Nippon Budokan. TMG’s blend of Eastern and Western rock influences resonated with fans and critics alike, making them a force to be reckoned with in the world of hard rock.

This new work not only features Matsumoto's solid and delicate guitar playing, but also Eric Martin's vocals, which emotionally sing fantastic melodies, and Jack Blades' bass lines, which aggressively liven up the song.

Listening to the album, the fans have the impression that the past 20 years, in which each member has continued to be active, was not a hiatus for the band, but a preparation period for the unique TMG rock sound to gain even more power: a full-fledged 2nd album!

The recording line-up for this album includes Matt Sorum, (Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver) on drums, and Yukihide “YT” Takiyama, who is well known for recording and live support for B'z, on guitar and arrangements.

The album opener “Crash Down Love” has an impressive and catchy melody that seems to symbolize the new TMG sound, while “Guitar Hero”, whose lyrics were written by Jack Blades with Tak in mind, maybe the best example of the new sound for the international markets.

Norwegian folk metal band TROLLFEST are spreading unconventional holiday cheer with the release of their latest single, "Doomsday Christmas Song."

Equal parts festive and thought-provoking, the track blends the band’s signature chaos with a timely message about the rising anxieties in today’s world. Can we still find joy in celebration amid uncertainty, or are we witnessing the end of merriment as we know it? You, infinite, the new project from This Will Destroy You founding members, have announced the release of their self-titled debut full-length on February 28, 2025 through Berlin's Pelagic Records.

you, infinite reunites Jeremy Galindo and Raymond Brown, founders of acclaimed instrumental outfit This Will Destroy You, in a new collaborative project. After departing TWDY to pursue a career in medicine, Brown continued to write music while establishing a successful practice in Austin, Texas. During the pandemic, he accumulated a collection of melodies and ideas which he shared with Galindo, sparking a renewed creative partnership. Separated by distance, with Galindo in Los Angeles and Brown in Austin, the duo began to exchange ideas digitally in order to shape the foundations of you, infinite's electronic-edged, panoramic post-rock sound.

Between 2021 and 2024, the two came together in person to refine the pieces and ultimately to finalize the album. Working with Andrew Hernandez, who recorded and mixed the album in the summer of 2024, Brown and Galindo were joined by Johnnie McBryde, Ethan Billips, and Nicholas Huft, all current members of Galindo's TWDY lineup, in order to truly bring the album to life.

As the lead single, "Throughlines" is the first you, infinite music shared with the world and it’s a delicate yet decisive declaration. Harajuku-core trailblazers HANABIE. have released their new EP 'Bucchigiri Tokyo' and the official music video for their latest track "Ito Okashi My Type". When asked about the inspiration behind the EP, vocalist Yukina shared:

"The theme of this EP is "Tokyo" the birthplace of our music. Each track is pure chaos and pop, bursting with everything that makes HANABIE. unique! Iconic post-punk band Pink Turns Blue has announced that their new 'Black Swan' album will be released in February on limited edition vinyl, CD and digitally via Orden Records. Ahead of that, they present the single 'Black Swan (But I Know There Is More to Life)', the only ballad on the album. Setting the tone for this album, this song offers ample fruit for thought to round out the yea, delving into profound questions about existence, reflecting on life’s purpose and contemplating what makes for a meaningful life and the beauty of the world.

After 2021's widely acclaimed ‘Tainted’ album, the companion 'Tainted Tour 2022' EPand successful American and European tours with often-sold-out concerts, the Berliners' new studio album will be followed by their 'Black Swan' tour, which sees them tour throughout Germany in April.

This new collection is aptly named 'Black Swan', a term used for an unexpected event that, in retrospect, is rationalized as if one could have prepared for it.

Formed in 1985 in the first generation of gothic rock and named after a Hüsker Dü song, Pink Turn Blue's debut album 'If Two Worlds Kiss' advanced the darkwave sub-genre while becoming a seminal post-punk album.  NO CURE — comprised of Blaythe Steuer [vocals], Aesop Mongo [guitar], Kyle Ray [guitar], Jake Murnane [bass], and Duncan Newey [drums] — have dropped their concept EP I Hope I Die Here , December 6, via SharpTone Records. "I am so proud of this song," says Steuer. "I sat on the intro riff for a couple years and I'm so happy it finally found its place. This song came together so well and it says what I've needed to say my whole life. Thank you so much to Dan singing on this with us."

On the EP, the band delivers an inimitable hybrid of gritty basement-bred hardcore boosted by death metal proficiency and explosive unpredictability. The EP also features guests on every track. All features are highlighted in the track listing below. "Every track features someone that has made an undeniable mark on Alabama hardcore over the years," the band explains about inviting so many of its friends to contribute to the release. "We do not expect you to recognize every name on this record, and that's the point."

As for the EP as a whole, the band has stated, "I Hope I Die Here is a love letter to Alabama and the Southeastern experience. It is an acknowledgment of suffering, and a proclamation of strength. This record is conceptually driven and more musically diverse than our previous EPs, on purpose. There is a distinct reason for each song to exist. We approach many topics, including what it's like to grow up under the boot of religion, fraternity culture, the dark side of a beloved landmark, local ecological exploitation, and more. We do not believe the world needs any more songs about how craaaaaazyyy of a guy you are, how much you hate your town, or how your ex was such a *checks notes* bitch for breaking up with you because you cheated on her."

Renowned guitarist and composer Ron 'BUMBLEFOOT' Thal is back with a brand-new instrumental album, 'Bumblefoot ...Returns!', set for release on January 24, 2025. Thirty years after his debut solo instrumental album, BUMBLEFOOT revisits his roots with a 14-track masterpiece that spans genres from metal to orchestral to blues.

The album’s opening track, “Simon in Space,” serves as its first single, delivering an electrifying ride through chaos and intensity. The single is available for streaming HERE. In addition to the single, an animated music video created by BUMBLEFOOT and animator Radek Grabinski is also available, as well as a retro-inspired video game, which is coming soon.

Produced by John Osborne, “Ain’t Enough Cowboy Songs” swells with longing from the very first stroke across the fiddle strings – a fitting introduction as McBryde and cowriters Chris Harris and Patrick Savage explored a shared sense of something missing, along with a desire for meaning and reconnection in a changing world.
 
“This one was all about where we live and the genre we love and realizing that the horse I rode in on got put out to pasture,” McBryde explained. “Instead of us saying, ‘Work ethic’s out the window, stick-to-it code’s pretty much dead and idealism is gone,’ it was easier to say that by saying there is no wild out west. That’s all gone.”
