SUNSTORM Shares New Single "Hope's Last Stand" + Lyric Video

Today, AOR/Melodic rock quintet SUNSTORM shares a new single “Hope’s Last Stand”, taken from their third album, 'Restless Fight,' set for release on November 22nd, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl. The track is accompanied by a new lyric video, available below.

SUNSTORM is a project created, overseen, and directed by Serafino Perugino, President of Frontiers Records, and it was originally designed to showcase a musical style similar to singer Joe Lynn Turner’s Melodic Rock/AOR roots.

Since 2021, SUNSTORM has featured one of the most impressive vocal talents of recent years, Lords of Black and Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero. Romero’s debut album with SUNSTORM, 'Afterlife' was released in early 2021 and showcased a rejuvenation of SUNSTORM's previous musical formula, mixing Melodic Rock/AOR with more '70s-oriented hard rock, a la Rainbow (for which Romero performed as the singer).

Romero's voice and prolific musical activity have brought him to the forefront of the hard rock/metal scene where he can be seen/heard with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, The Michael Schenker Group, Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, and Elegant Weapons with Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner. 

Ronnie Romero is also a prolific solo artist, with the release of his first two cover albums 'Raised On Radio' and 'Raised On Heavy Radio' – where he pays tribute to legendary artists from the metal world – and his latest work 'Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters', the first to feature all-new original material, released in September 2023.

With the new album 'Restless Fight,' the third to feature Ronnie Romero, SUNSTORMchanged its skin. The new line-up that backs Romero, comes from a heavy background. 

On guitars, Aldo Lonobile, musician, songwriter and producer (Geoff Tate's Sweet Oblivion, Archon Angel feat. Zak Stevens, Ring Of Fire feat. Mark Boals), Andrea Arcangeli (from the Italian progressive metal band DGM) on bass, Alfonso Mocerino (ex-Temperance, Virtual Simmetry) on drums and Antonio Agate (one of the most talented Italian keyboard players and arranger for symphonic orchestras, featured in countless albums) on keyboards. It brings back SUNSTORM’s classic AOR/Hard Rock formula with a heavy dose of energy culminating in a more dynamic and bombastic approach.

Since the inception of the new album’s production, the discussion has centered on the concept of keeping the roots of SUNSTORM’s musical style: the AOR sound of the early records that everyone wanted, but with special attention to the 80s way to arrange the guitars and keys in order to reach more powerful vibrations. The aim was to give a fresh appeal to the new music so that it could be the perfect foundation for Romero, who with his powerful vocal style, is the perfect fit to deliver the goods for the music.

The result is 'Restless Fight,' an album where Ronnie’s vocal acrobatics sit perfectly into Lonobile’s way to play guitars, clearly influenced by the 80’s guitar heroes such as Jake E. Lee/Steve Stevens, to name a few.

When it came to the process of recording and putting all the pieces together, the band did not change a lot compared to the last projects. Again the music was written, recorded, and produced by MAJESTICA themselves. "Like our previous albums this one is also produced by ourselves, and we recorded most parts in our new place ”Majestic Studios”. For mixing we went back to Jonas Kjellgren as we have been very happy with the sound of ’A Christmas Carol’ and ’Metal United' says bassist Chris Davidsson. Regarding the amazing artwork for Power Train, Chrisexplains: "For the artwork we teamed up with Jan Yrlund / Darkgrove design. It invites you to join this majepic ride of the Power Train, imagine standing there on the platform eagerly waiting, and you hear ”all aboard”!".

TOUR
Shortly before the release of their new album, MAJESTICA will play a few shows, perfect to warm up for the upcoming album. The tour, which is called 'The Dead Don't Die Tour', kicks off on December 26th in Nürnberg, Germany. Along with headliners DOMINUM and support HAMMER KING, the Swedes are going to stop in seven cities. Furthermore, MAJESTICA will play a festival show at 'No Sleep After X-Mas Festival' in Runkel with some extra focus on their Christmas album A Christmas Carol on December 29th.

The beautiful monody that runs throughout the entire piece is deeply influenced by Greek and Romanian traditions, which are integral to Orthodoxy. In our new music, we aim to showcase different aspects of Orthodoxy. Just as the Prophet Ilja journeyed to Kronsztadt, we traveled far for musical inspiration to create a psalm in honor of the New Jerusalem that our prophet was building.

This song features our long-time singing teacher, Eliza Sacharczuk. We have been collaborating with her since 2016, continuously improving our singing skills through lessons and consultations. Our choice was intentional; Eliza has a truly unique voice. Listen and see for yourself!"

Reborn PATRIARKH (formerly Batushka) returns with

a masterpiece of arcane black metal!

'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' details a true story that happened in the band’s home area of Podlasie, in the village of Grzybowszczyzna, in the 1930s and 40s. The album takes the listener into the world of Eliasz Klimowicz, the titular Prophet Ilja, an illiterate peasant who was the leader of the Orthodox Grzybowska Sect, active until the 1960s, cultivating and transmitting the history of the self-proclaimed prophet. PATRIARKH spread their gospel by using an arsenal of folk instruments, such as tagelharpa, mandolin, mandocello, hurdy gurdy and stringed dulcimer, and worked with a symphony orchestra and choirs to give their new creations the most organic and vivid feeling possible. As is trademark with PATRIARKH’s music, Orthodox sacredness is mixed with black and doom metal, now largely enriched with folk music, neo dark folk, and even film music. The band utilizes the entire palette of Orthodox music, venturing into the areas of Byzantine monody, liturgical chant and Russian polyphony, neatly adapting folk and liturgical melodies to their own style. 

PATRIARKH on the new album:

“With this new release, we are starting a new chapter in our history - not only is our name changing, but our music is also undergoing a natural evolution. The story on the album encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone, we reached for means that we had not used before in our music. Many of you will wonder if this is still black metal? The lyrical side of 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' is an interesting mix of theater and pastoralism. PATRIARKH uses fragments of texts from the theater play "Prorok Ilja" and draws from the messages contained in the works of Włodzimierz Pawluczuk, combining it with folk and liturgical texts. On 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ', listeners can hear various languages – and Polish for the first time ever! The album was recorded in January and May 2024 at Tall Pine Records (Behemoth, Zalewski, Afromental), Heinrich House (Behemoth, Vesania, Hate), Wem Studio (Kasa Chorych, Lukasyno, Cira) and Radio Białystok studio. Mixing and mastering was handled by Wojciech Wiesławski at Hertz Studio (Vader, Behemoth, Decapitated), and production was helmed by band mastermind and leading vocalist Bartłomiej "Варфоломей" Krysiuk. “ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ is an album full of emotions, sentimentalism and folklore. It’s pastoral, lyrical, epic, multidimensional and multicolored, just like my Podlasie is multicolored,” says Варфоломей. Since moving to Japan in 2003, MARTY FRIEDMAN has become a household name even beyond the world of music. Fluent in Japanese, he has appeared on over 900 Japanese TV shows of every variety, as well as motion pictures and commercials including an ad campaign for Coca-Cola / FANTA that ran for over two years. 35 years in, Manchester's THE SPEED OF SOUND presents 'Artificial Paradise', previewing 'Bounty' LP

Manchester indie rock / power pop outfit The Speed Of Sound present 'Artificial Paradise', a hugely upbeat danceable rail against Artificial Intelligence, along with the B-side 'Jaunt', which also happens to be the first single revealed from the album 'A Cornucupia: Bounty' - the third of their album trilogy 'A Cornucopia: Minerva, Victory, Bounty', released via Big Stir Records.

Formed in 1989 with a pre-history dating back to the day Andy Warhol died in 1987, the band is  now made up of father and son John Armstrong (guitars and vocals) and Henry Armstrong (keyboards), Ann-Marie Crowley (vocals and guitar), Kevin Roache (bass guitar) and John Broadhurst (drums). 

"Already the 'music industry’ appears to have no actual interest in music beyond creating prefabricated manufactured ‘product’. The logical next step from their existing ‘talent factories’ and hologram concerts perpetuating careers of dead stars is for major labels to move to entirely virtual stars; AI singing AI songs with AI instruments. AI regurgitates what is available for it to scrape, it cannot create something new. There will be no advancement, no evolution, no change. There is no life without change," says John Armstrong.  

''Artificial Paradise' is uncompromisingly human and says a firmly grooved up “No” to Artificial Intelligence in music. The video uses A.I images which are all generated from the prompt “Artificial Paradise” and are all meaningless, formless and empty. Which is exactly what A.I does".

Full of ambition, energy and melodic brilliance, this three-album deluxe edition is available on vinyl and CD. Beginning with the 'Minerva' album, The Speed of Sound shared a rich bouquet of thought-provoking compositions, including the hauntingly spacious 'Trickledown', the stratospherically vast 'The Great Acceleration', the uplifting 'Mind Palace' and 'West Wind', where a recklessly fast rhythm merges with a Wagnerian horn section.

After a 20-year hiatus, TMG returns with original members Tak Matsumoto (guitarist and member of the Japanese rock superstars B’z), Jack Blades (Night Ranger) and Eric Martin(Mr. Big), reigniting the powerhouse trio’s signature rock sound. Originally launched in 2004, TMG wowed fans worldwide with their unique fusion of hard-hitting rock and oriental influences. Now, after two decades, they’re set to do it all again.

Tak Matsumoto explains how the project came to life:

“Twenty-one years ago, I met Jack and Eric at The Fillmore in San Francisco. I suggested we collaborate, and that’s how TMG was born. We came together in LA to write our first single,“OH JAPAN”, which sparked the creation of our debut album, 'TMG I', and an incredible tour throughout Japan, ending with a memorable performance at the Budokan. Though we’ve stayed in touch, life pulled us in different directions, and two decades slipped by. In 2022, I reached out with a proposal to reunite.”

“Now, in 2024, TMG has completed our latest album, 'TMG II', featuring the talented drummerMatt Sorum. We’re excited to share this album, a blend of Japanese and American musical sensibilities. We hope you enjoy it!”, adds Matsumoto.

The recording line-up for this album includes Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver) on drums, and Yukihide “YT” Takiyama, who is well known for recording and live support for B'z, on guitar and arrangements.

Today's single, “Crash Down Love,” is impressively catchy and symbolizes the new TMGsound, while “Guitar Hero”, whose lyrics were written by Jack Blades with Tak in mind, may just be the best example of the band's evolved sound.

GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES Return with New Single “KAAL” Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl

Indian rockers GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES are thrilled to unveil their new single and accompanying video “Kaal” now via Frontiers Music Srl.

The track represents a first for the band, featuring a chorus sung in Nepalese. It is a heavy song, a little different from the band’s usual sound, aiming to tap into a new audience that listens to Nepali Rock/Metal music.

The band is also currently on their Re-Ignition Tour 2024, which started in Trollhättan, Sweden, on October 25 and will end in Troon, UK, on November 30. They are also set to perform at the oldest and one of the biggest Rock fests in India, Mahindra Independence Rock, to be held in the city of Mumbai.

Girish Pradhan comments on the new single, by saying:

“I know I would eventually sing in my Native language of Nepali, some day, but I had no clue it would come about this way. 'Kaal', which also translates to 'The End/Doom' etc, is a musical force. We wanted to try out a different sound for a change. We wanted it to be raw, both sonically and visually. While we know there may be some folks out there, for whom it’s not a wise idea to divert away from a style that has been working fairly well for us, we also feel it is extremely important to keep experimenting and exploring.”

“GATC has never been about a particular sound. We have always been so much more than that, and our true fans over the years have always known that. Either way, it’s a banger and there’s no way one can escape the sonic punch they’re about to receive. Smile Empty Soul Release Lyric Video for Single "We All Fall Down" via TLG|ZOID ​

Alt-rock veterans Smile Empty Soul have unveiled their lyric video for single, "We All Fall Down". The track is a preview of their upcoming EP, Swan Song, which is scheduled for release at the end of the year through TLG|ZOID distributed by Virgin Music Group.

"We all live unique lives, but what we have in common is that life kicks the shit out of us all in various ways. Learning how to overcome that is key to survival and the ability to thrive," says Sean Danielsen.

The song was written and produced by Sean Danielsen, engineered by Brian Scheffer, mixed and mastered by Eddie Wohl.

SMILE EMPTY SOUL is a hard rock band that originated in Los Angeles, CA in the late 1990’s and has stayed true to their brand of “no bullshit”, “real as it gets” hard rock to this day. The band signed a major label record deal in 2003 to release their self-titled debut album in May of that year. They realized huge success at alternative radio, rock radio, and the music video channels that have since fallen by the wayside or turned into reality show networks.

After 3 very successful singles/videos and a gold record from the debut release, the band ran into trouble with their record company (which was in the midst of turmoil at the top levels) and found themselves working extra hard in the trenches, and signed to indie labels or no label at all from then on.

This would become SMILE EMPTY SOUL’s destiny, as they have gone on to release many more albums and EP’s on various labels, as well as their own company “smile empty music inc”. The band released their 9th full length record Black Pilled on October 12th of 2021 completely on their own.

“Smile” has become known for its constant touring and never wavering honest sound/lyrics. They’ve never changed for anybody, and turned down many opportunities to “sell out” because it’s not who they are.

With a new album, and just as much drive as they had starting out 20 years ago, this band looks to continue to build on the legacy they’ve created as one of the hardest working, and most underrated bands in rock and roll.

The band has recently partnered with TLG|ZOID distributed by Virgin Music Groupto release new music. Southern rocker JC Miller shares 'Asphalt Confidential' single, a quest for uncharted territory

LA-based artist JC Miller kicks off November in fine style with 'Asphalt Confidential', a sonic odyssey of self-discovery, where the open road becomes a canvas for the spirit's exploration. This new single reflects the protagonist's timeless quest for meaning, fuelled by the thrill of the unknown.

A seasoned songwriter who has crafted music for renowned brands like Levi's, Coca-Cola and Nike, JC Miller now finds himself turning his focus towards his own artistic vision, creating music that resonates with his soul.

As with his previous output, 'Asphalt Confidential' is a collaborative effort involving famed producer Marty Rifkin, perhaps best known for his work with Tom Petty, Glen Campbell and Jewel, in addition to playing pedal steel guitar in Bruce Springsteen's The Sessions Band.

"Straight up, 'Asphalt Confidential' is about the freedom of the road. The unknown territory is on the map but also inside all of us. It’s a symbolic adventure and deep dive. For me, it’s a recurring theme – to break away from the mundane chains of everyday life and hit the road to seek out the unseen. It’s a lifelong hunt I have been on, traveling on the asphalt all through the Southwest, tracking old histories and new mysteries. I’m always seeking answers, staying in motion," says JC Miller.

"I love Rockabilly guitar and especially the country-fried version. This song is my homage to that rollicking, rumbling sound. What gets me about Rockabilly is its direct connection to the earliest Rock n’ Roll -- that prototypical sound of the first electric guitars ringing through the TVs and radios in the early 1950s. It’s so classic yet still fresh. I dig a lot of the music that came after, but somehow those first pioneers armed with electric guitars blazed a trail that we all still revisit."

Miller is on quite a roll in terms of producing a steady stream of impressive tracks. Earlier this month, he released 'The Back of The Beyond', a song about getting lost and about being in the middle of nowhere, following September's 'Blackberry Canes' and August's 'Tombstone Junction'. The summer also brought the singles 'Dead Horse Ranch', 'Sundown Slim','Wayward Son' and 'Before Nightfall'.

A singer-songwriter and guitarist, Miller's brand of music is unique, memorable and informed by his own experiences, blending Americana, Blues, Country and Southern Rock. He knows his craft well and understands how the instruments used can shape a song's particular energy and sound.  

JC Miller shares, "On this track, I am playing a 1957 Gretsch 6120, the quintessential Stray Cats - cowboy-axe in a color that Gretsch called Western orange. It’s also a nod to the Traveling Wilburys -- George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne --- they decided to be an all-Gretsch band in 1988! Essentially, along those same lines, I will continue plumbing the past to define the future, history honored and lessons learned".

AUSTIN MEADE Shares Title Track for New EP 'PRETTY LITTLE WAIST' via Snakefarm NOW!

Texan rocker AUSTIN MEADE brings together all his recent singles into one fresh EP, 'PRETTY LITTLE WAIST.' Released via Snakefarm , the EP arrives alongside the brand-new single of the same name.

About "PRETTY LITTLE WAIST," MEADE comments:

"The main guitar riff was a regular sound check jam for a few months straight out of Willie’s brain. I was pumped to arrange it into a full song and push the limits on how heavy we could make the track feel. Kile Odell (producer) and Keith Wallen (Breaking Benjamin) helped us push the envelope there. I threw in quite a few lyrics intentionally referencing back to the 'Abstract Art' record. It was intriguing to play with the ‘waste of time’ and view of a ‘pretty little waist’ all within the same song. I love to hear the wide range we have been able to cover sonically from my original records up to this point. This is the heaviest headbanger we’ve released to date."

MEADE will be announcing his Christmas tour during the second week of November. 2025 tour dates will be announced shortly as well!

Thanks to his metal and classic-rock-loving dad, MEADE got to see bands like Judas Priestand he worshipped Whitesnake. In junior high, he related to the intense emo-rock of Paramore and Fall Out Boy, and the power of songwriters like John Mayer.

Yet, with gratitude to plainspoken but deep heartland songwriters like Tom Petty, and cutting his teeth touring in the Texas and Oklahoma Red Dirt scene, MEADE’s music overflows with wide-open soulfulness. He was a drummer for years, even teaching to pay the bills, but MEADE found his true voice when he began playing guitar as a teen in his pastor father’s church. Those experiences lend both a gravitas and rebelliousness to MEADE’s songs and self.

Now the frontman of his band and slinging guitar licks with expert precision, his music rolled out with two releases in 2014, his first EP 'Long Ways To Go' followed by his first full-length album 'Chief Of The Sinners.' His next EP 'Heartbreak Coming' came in 2016 with a couple of singles to announce his commencement on the Texas Music Chart, followed by his second full-length album 'Waves' in 2019. In 2021, MEADE introduced his third LP 'Black Sheep' including the hit tracks "Happier Alone," "Cave In," "Dopamine Drop," and "Deja Vu." MEADE released his fourth LP 'Abstract Art Of An Unstable Mind' in the Fall of 2022, further showcasing his ability to seamlessly blend genres into a groovy yet piercingly fresh sound of rock 'n' roll.
