COLIN STOUGH RETURNS TO THE SCENE OF THE CRIME IN “AMEN” MUSIC VIDEO

19 Recordings/BMG Nashville artist Colin Stough is paying for his crimes in the official music video for the salvation-seeking “Amen,” as featured on his recent Lookin’ For Home EP. Directed by Luke Lowder and West Webb, fans can watch the CMT Premiere today (8/1), as it makes its broadcast debut on CMT, CMT Music, CMT Equal Play (on Pluto TV), and the Paramount Times Square Billboard.

Narrated by a broken soul pining for the simple days of his past, the footage dramatizes the trapped tone of the StoughJacob Durrett (also the producer), and Jordan Dozzi-penned lyrics. Inspired by frustration and homesickness felt out on the road, the clip visually compares a hotel room to a jail cell, as it tells the tale of a robbery gone wrong. Following a wounded fugitive on the run, the foreboding storyline tracks a man who succumbs to the demons at his door, and as a result, is choosing to make a change for good.

Taking his Lookin’ For Home EP on the road, Stough continues his trek this summer with fair and music festival dates, including select shows with ParmaleeThe LacsMidland, and more. This fall, he’ll co-headline a run with fellow American Idol finalist Will Moseley

ABOUT COLIN STOUGH:
While Country Rock phenom and Gattman, Mississippi, native Colin Stough is only knocking on the door to his twenties, he has traversed a long journey in a few short years – starting with his debut EP Promiseland and following up with a new EP Lookin’ For Home. After learning to play guitar at 8 years old, Stough first pursued his artistic dreams at 10, boldly trading childhood possessions for his first guitar at a local pawn shop – an instrument he still plays to this day. After graduating high school, the naturally gifted singer and self-taught songwriter began working full-time as an HVAC technician, before his mother convinced him to audition for American Idol. Impressing judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie, Stough stunned viewers and soon built a thriving fan base, finishing third on Season 21 of the show in 2023. He spent the ensuing months writing and recording original music, while also touring nationwide to put his blowtorch vocal and guitar-slinging edge on full display.  After signing with 19 Recordings/BMG Nashville, his distinctive mix of Southern Rock distortion and pure-Country style has helped Stough’s music rack up more than 19.8 MILLION global on-demand streams. Stough has headlined across the country and opened for established artists like Chase Matthew, Kidd G, and Drake White.

Future Palace Share "Decarabia" Video

NEW ALBUM DISTORTION OUT SEPTEMBER 6 VIA ARISING EMPIRE

It is commonly said that shared suffering is half the the suffering — but is it really always that simple? Berlin post-hardcore trio Future Palace dedicate their new song "Decarabia" to the relationships of people who are suffering from mental illnesses.

Watch the video below.

Stream the song here at midnight.

The picture the band paints of this difficult circumstance is engagingly complex and asks fundamental questions: How much can we help the loved ones around us when we ourselves are already dealing with so many of our own demons? How can we not be alone in our struggles when at the same time we see how it becomes too much for our counterpart?

"It's not just bad if you yourself lose joy in life. It hurts all the more when you find out that a loved person has to deal with it," singer Maria Lessing explains. "It's a struggle to try to support someone when you need all your strength to be able to function. But in the end, you can resolve even such serious problems with work and growth and become happy together. In any case, I hope so."

Musically, Future Palace show a completely new side with "Decarabia." The nostalgic and at the same time modern synths in the intro and chorus make the band's sound no less heavy, but give it a real danceable note. The trio creates hits potential that initiate reminiscences of compositions by Electric Callboy without their lyrical-ironic double bottom. The music video, again directed by Pavel Trebukhin, was filmed fittingly in an abandoned Soviet discotheque in Latvia on the border to Lithuania.

"Decarabia" appears on Future Palace’s upcoming third album Distortion, out September 6 via Arising Empire.

Future Palace's music has always explored internal struggles, and Distortion is the brutal climax of this approach. The album title, derived from the psychological term cognitive distortion, reflects a world where changing perceptions trap individuals in recurring pitfalls. Distortion addresses various mental illnesses and personal struggles, from ADHD to depression to narcissism. The band's third album is a powerful force of emotions, cycles, and cries of desperation, overwhelming listeners with its intensity.

The band's creativity shines as they tackle demanding topics with fresh perspectives. On Distortion, they build on their previous work by incorporating new elements, like orchestral interjections in "The Echoes of Disparity," which combines brutal screams and chant-like passages to convey psychological struggle. "Panic Paralysis" features a massive vocal motif with an arabesque touch, while "They Take What They Want" dives into emotional depths, blending raw metalcore with gentle vocal passages and massive choirs.

Despite the album's emotional intensity, Distortion was created amid excessive demands. Produced by Julian Breucker and Christoph Wieczorek, known for their work with Annisokay, Beyond the Black, and Smash Into Pieces, the recording process was grueling. Lessing recorded the album with a root infection and after wisdom tooth surgery, adding stress but enhancing the songs' authenticity. Guitarist Manuel Kohlert notes that the album reflects the band's experience as a heavy touring band, capturing the feelings of being on the road and contemplating their existence.

Despite its challenges, Distortion carries a piece of hope. "Decarabia" tells a bittersweet story about a depressed couple, while "The Echoes of Disparity," featuring Charlie Rolfe of As Everything Unfolds, is militantly rebellious, addressing abuse of power and the oppression of women. "Lessing" emphasizes the importance of female support to convey the song's message loudly.

The band has just announced their headline tour across Europe and the UK including support from Our Promise, kicking off in October 2024.

**MANY EYES ONLY

The man in question is Keith Buckley, and these aren’t flames of destruction either. instead, this conflagration merely signals the beginning for the vocalist and his cohorts—brothers Charlie [guitar] and Nick Bellmore [drums, bass, backing vocals]. scratching an itch for catharsis, the music swings from fits of venomous hardcore into disarmingly catchy choruses spiked with grunge melody and quotable lyrics.

Unpredictable and undeniable in equal measure, many eyes come to life on a series of independent singles in 2023 and much more to come.

“This is an expression of who I am,” Buckley proclaims. “I’m letting the music do the talking. I really trusted my collaborators. I’m not interested in being known as a frontman. I just want to be another part of the band who uses his own instrument to complete the picture. that’s what I’m doing with Many Eyes."

A long and winding road brought Buckley to many eyes. the Buffalo native has fronted metalcore stalwarts Every Time I Die as well as the Damned Things (featuring Scott Ian of Anthrax and Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley of Fall Out Boy), and lent his instantly recognizable vocals to everyone from Knocked Loose to seeyouspacecowboy and Say Anything, played countless shows, and even penned two books.

in 2021, after fronting Every Time I Die for over two decades, he reached an impasse and needed to make a change. focusing on his mental health, he chose sobriety, spent a month in a recovery facility “to learn how to live soberly,” and reorganized his priorities as a father and husband.

Ultimately, he gained new perspective all around.

“After the pandemic, I realized I had made a lot of really bad decisions in life, and I was reaping what I had sown,” he admits. “There was no meaning anymore. So, I vowed to do things differently. I started getting sober. When you do, most of your relationships based on alcohol go away. My current wife and my daughter were my entire support system. During that time, i didn’t think about music at all.”

That’s until Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta reached out. He suggested Keith consider working with Charlie and Nick Bellmore. “It was wonderful to hear a friendly voice say, ‘Hey, this could be good for you,’” he elaborates. “I just got in my car and drove to Connecticut. They showed me what they were working on, and the music was exactly what I wanted—while their trust and patience were exactly what I needed.”

As it turns out, the three musicians bonded over a shared deep-seated appreciation for nineties hard rock and alternative, including Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Jane’s Addiction. Locking into a groove, they struck a delicate balance between pit-splitting intensity and arresting infectiousness with brothers Charlie playing guitar, Nick playing bass/drums and also producing the new music, while Jamey Jasta took on the role of executive producer.

“I was super excited to fully incorporate huge hooks into devastating mosh riffs,” he grins. “It’s something I’d always wanted to do. For me, it’s a complete release to express anger through big sweeping choruses.”

The single “Revelation” introduces Many Eyes. From the jump, a guttural guitar riff underlines Buckley’s vitriolic screams. Melody only enhances the drama on the catchy chorus, “Look me in the eyes again, look me in the eyes. i dare you.”

“It’s a very aggressive song, and it’s confrontational lyrically,” he reveals. “I was still at a point in my sobriety where I thought I had to speak bluntly in order to heal. Then, I found recovery was about a lot of acceptance. I wrote ‘Revelation’ before I went to this facility in Salt Lake City. While I was there, I did the 12 steps, and I was diagnosed with bipolar 1. I had unknowingly been living with that my whole life and self-medicating with alcohol and drugs. the message of ‘Revelation’ is, ‘I can do this if I have love.’ I don’t need anything else. it’s very punk rock.”

“Future Proof” represents the other end of the spectrum. on the track, uneasy guitars toss and turn beneath the verses, and the refrain echoes with naked emotion.

“It was the first song back after recovery,” he goes on. “I had found out what was wrong with me. Now, I’m fully prepared to deal with anything that happens in the future—any loss or any gain. nothing will shock me anymore, because of everything i already went through.”

Out of the flames, Buckley’s still standing, and he’s ready to tell his story like never before.

“From all of these experiences, I’ve become wiser,” he leaves off. “I’m the same person, but i have a better understanding of my own purpose now. I want to use these experiences to help people get out of situations where they feel helpless. I’m trying to show that hope and recovery are possible.”

I See Stars Unleash New Track "SPLIT" + Official Visualizer via Sumerian Records

Electronic hardcore pioneers I See Stars have released their latest banger "SPLIT" and the accompanying visualizer (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the inspiration behind today's track, vocalist Devin Oliver shared:

'SPLIT' takes you through the highs and lows of our journey as artists, from being signed at 15 and leaving high school to pursue our dreams, to exploring the mental toll and constant self-doubt. It highlights how the industry once felt divided by the machine, splitting artists up & weakening them/stripping them of their power. As you navigate the smoke and mirrors, you’re left with a version of yourself you don’t even recognize, constantly questioning what you’d be willing to do for your dreams. How far are you willing to go? What sacrifices are you willing to make for your dream?"

The band has previously shared "are we 3ven?", "D4MAGE DONE", and most recently, their double-single "Anomaly" and "Drift". Altogether, the tracks have amassed a staggering 13 million streams on Spotify alone and 1.6 million views on YouTube. Stream "SPLIT" here, and watch the official visualizer below.

VIPASSI Release Live Playthrough of "Phainesthai"

"A fine example of why Vipassi is among the best up-and-coming instrumental progressive metal acts" - Metal Injection

"Vipassi have managed to take the prior achievements of their debut and interlaced them with fresh ideas and approaches that show a massive development in their sound" - Distorted Sound (9/10)

"What makes Lightless truly stand out is its genuine sense of personality...a chemistry that cannot be imitated or manufactured. I'll take that kind of real vision and know-how over noodle salad any day of the week" - Metal Sucks (4/5)

It's no wonder that VIPASSI can spin epic stories without uttering a word. As a purely instrumental band, they're blessed with a telepathic chemistry. Today, the Aussies are unveiling a live studio recorded playthrough of "Phainesthai", the lead single off their new album Lightless.

Watch the band weave and wind through "Phainesthai"  below.

Lightless is out now on Season of Mist.

Order: https://redirect.season-of-mist.com/VipassiLightless

Building upon the void-like brilliance of their debut album, Śūnyatā, Vipassi’s second album Lightless transcends the ephemeral boundaries of instrumental progressive metal. This sophomore offering delves into the eternal themes of light casting shadows, and the band’s unparalleled musicianship evokes a symphony of intricate emotions. Together, they breathe life into a world where the listener navigates the labyrinthine hex of their own subconscious.

The new playthrough video of "Phainesthai" is not merely a display of skill. Drummer Dan Presland (Black Lava, Ne Obliviscaris) intertwines with the electric guitar movements of Ben Boyle (Black Lava, Hadal Maw) and Benjamin Baret (Ne Obliviscaris), along with the fretless bass tones of Arran McSporran, opening a portal into a world where darkness and light are locked in an eternal struggle.

This playthrough of "Phainesthai" was recorded live at Bushido Studios, where Vipassi recorded most of Lightless. The audio was engineered by the album's sound engineer Troy McCosker and mixed by Declan White. The video was shot by Joe Ritson and edited by Dan Presland.

In Buddhist tradition, VIPASSI is the twenty-second of the twenty-eight Buddhas. Etymologically, the name has its roots in clear vision – a being of extreme contemplation. The band of the same name is a world-spnning instrumental extreme metal band from the lands of Australia, France and the UK.

With members of acts such as Ne Obliviscaris, Black Lava, Hadal Maw & Virvum, their work on the 2017 debut album ‘Sunyata’, which has a loose signification of Emptiness or Void, set the grounds for a technically impressive and fully instrumental exploration of sonic textures in what can best be described as – a divine experience reaching the depths of the human soul.

Originally made as a project between Daniel Presland (Drums) and Ben Boyle (Guitars) as far back as 2007 to explore new concepts and sounds not currently engaged by their projects at the time, the band has since then grown and expanded to an international connection of like-minded musicians and virtuosos with Arran McSporran (Fretless Bass) and Benjamin Baret (Guitars).

Further exploring their labyrinthine textures and layers of sounds, the band VIPASSI is back with their sophomore album ‘Lightless’. The album shifts from the realm of the void towards a clash of light and dark – and sees the band expanding into even more technical and experimental realms, pushing the limits of their own ideas and abilities to heights unimagined when the band began all those years ago.

Boston Manor Share Video For New Single "Horses In A Dream"

BOSTON MANOR will drop their forthcoming album Sundiver on September 6 via SharpTone Records. Today, they drop the video for "Horses In A Dream" is out now.

Listen to "Horses In A Dream" on streaming services here and watch the video below.

Following recent new album cuts including the impassioned "Container," the hulking "Sliding Doors," and the rousing "HEAT ME UP," "Horses In A Dream" has a dizzying liquid groove that coats a song about human connection.

Guitarist Mike Cunniff comments on the new single, "'Horses In A Dream' explores raw human intimacy. It touches on desperation, and deep emotional connections forged when two people are together and completely free."

MORE ABOUT SUNDIVER:
"Could you please open that window, let the new world in." The sage simplicity of Sundiver's opening lyrics says it all. Boston Manor front man Henry Cox is opening the next chapter of a story that began with 2022 album Datura. That record opened with the lines, "Do me a favour, close that window, keep the heating in, there's a fire in the car park, I see it smouldering." Sundiver, then, is the yin to Datura's yang. Sundiver is Boston Manor's fifth album and one that represents a glimmering dawn for the Blackpool five-piece. Grown from a seedbed of optimism and sobriety, the LP celebrates new beginnings, second chances and rebirth. With two members recently stepping into fatherhood, hope is baked into every note.

Like anything worth doing though, that hope has been hard-won. On Sundiver, change doesn't just happen it is willed into existence, forged in the flame of grief and bent into shape with a hammer blow of positivity. Working with long-time producer Larry Hibbitt, alongside engineer Alex O'Donovan, the band switched recording from London to the leafier pastures of the home counties. There's a brightness searching to get out of Sundiver that feels like a purposeful about-turn from the darkness of [2022 album] Datura.

This year's pair of earlier single releases explored second chances ("Container") and "What If?" scenarios ("Sliding Doors"), bringing with them a refreshed mindset, the band clearly ready to create something immersive, embracing the unpredictable, glorious, devastating nature of life as a human being. Lyrics foxtrot from parallel universes to personal growth, vivid dreamscapes to raw grief. Individually they're single strokes full of meaning and magic. Together, they're a landscape.

Lead singer Henry Cox comments, "Sundiver is the culmination of two years work and four years of planning. Going into the pandemic we knew our next record would be a double album released in two parts, the first a short shadowy-noiry electronic record set over one night and the second a sprawling rock record that documents the following day. Both albums are products of their environments, we made Datura in the dead of winter in a windowless studio complex that mostly just produced techno, we'd enter before the sun rose and leave long after it set, basically never seeing sunlight. We made Sundiver in Welwyn Garden City over two summers, we barbecued every day and would walk across the road to a meadow and just take naps in the sunshine when we weren't recording.

"We've essentially been working on this album and building up to it since the pandemic. We were obsessed with trying to make a record that felt like blistering sunshine, or that wavy/hazy horizon you get when the pavement is super hot, but we didn't want it to sound 'happy' or 'major key.' Sundiver is by far Boston Mano's best and most ambitious record to date, and we couldn’t be happier with it, I really hope our fans love it as much as we do."

KINGCROW Release Title Track off New Album

"...dark at times, atmospheric at the right moments and heavy when it needs to" - The Prog Report

"Certainly progressive rock, but they are also heavy at times, alternative in others, and their sound wavers between the darkness of Riverside and the rock of Porcupine Tree" - The Prog Mind

"Each listen exposes layers like peeling an onion" - Angry Metal Guy

"Bleak and desperate, yet also a message of hope and warmth"
- The Progressive Subway

Italy's progressive rock alchemists, KINGCROW, continue to etch their legacy of evocative soundscapes and profound lyrical narratives with the release of the title track off their upcoming eighth album. "Hopium" heralds a new zenith in the band’s storied journey, where genres dissolve, and the music becomes an experience beyond the ordinary.

"Hopium" pulsates with an emotional resonance and raw vitality, capturing the essence of Kingcrow's relentless pursuit of innovation. Seamlessly intertwining existential introspection with the band’s signature blend of progressive rock, ambient and metal influences, their new single is a manifesto of passion, intricately weaving a tale of wrestling with societal illusions while seeking true inner self.

The playthrough video of "Hopium" was filmed at Hologram Studios in Francavilla al Mare, Italy, which is where Kingcrow's new album was mixed. It was directed and edited by Riccardo Nifosì, who also handled the cinematography alongside Giorgio Amadori.

The first incarnation of the band  was originally founded in Rome, Italy, by brothers Diego Cafolla (guitars) and Manuel Thundra Cafolla (drums) under the name of "Earth Shaker".

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Raven" and driven by a will of change, the band's name was soon altered into KINGCROW and a couple of self-produced demos/albums where recorded under the KINGCROW moniker: Something Unknown(2001), Insider (2004) and Timetropia (2006).

In the early months of 2010 the band finished recording their new album “Phlegethon” that was released in June of the same year under the “Scarlet Records” label.

It was considered on an international level as a relevant masterpiece and was classed as one of the elite progressive metal albums of the year. It has been near the top of the “album of the year” charts in some international prog-rock websites. Phlegethon promotion lasted for about two years and a half.

During the same year, the band recorded the new album “In Crescendo” that was released in February 2013 by the American label “Sensory Records.

The band toured  along with Pain Of Salvation in North America  in April and May, 2013. In 2015 the band released the album “Eidos” and toured Europe as Headliners. Meanwhile KINGCROW signed a management deal with GlassVille Music, house of very well known progressive acts like Pain Of Salvation and Riverside among others.

The band recorded the new album titled “The Persistence”.

The album was released on September 7th via Sensory Records and received great reviews and ended on a lot of “best of 2018” lists on magazines and webzines.

The upcoming album “Hopium” marks another step forward in pushing boundaries remarking the restless progressive  attitude of the band in incorporating countless influences into a personal sound.

Describing the band today is quite a difficult task, but one could state that the influence of different kinds of music, from progressive rock , ambient music, alternative rock and metal are all present in the music of KINGCROW.

With each release KINGCROW has taken a step further away from their original roots and is regarded today as one of the most exciting bands that Italy has to offer.

THEM GUNS Release New Single "Acid Plane" + Music Video via TLG|ZOID / Virgin Music Group.

THEM GUNS have unveiled their latest single, "Acid Plane," accompanied by a visually captivating music video, through TLG|ZOID / Virgin Music Group.

"'Acid Plane' is about getting on a plane right before a worldwide nuclear disaster. The only survivors are the people who were aboard airplanes at the time of the incident. When they make it to their destination, they arrive to a completely different existence," explains Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, the band's lead singer and guitarist.

Denny Sanders of TLG|ZOID shares, "I'm happy to say Them Guns are back with The Label Group."

Brilliance does not happen overnight. THEM GUNS, a synth rock band with dance evoking progressive sound have managed to sustain not only their unique array of high quality musical content, but also embodies a much deeper bond; a friendship in fact. A long time friendship that formed as far back as the mid 1980’s, when two of the band members had a chance meeting as kids. Based in Los Angeles, the band has performed in venues across the globe amassing new fans at every stop.

Between the band’s charismatic lead singer / guitarist Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, and iconic multi-instrumentalist Kyle Hamood, there was chemistry between these two California natives from the very start. Their fate began as young boys where they met in a pool, while on holiday in Hawaii. They had no idea this chance meeting would lead a convergence of talents, blossoming from friendship to a fantastical band 20 years later. That recipe would not be complete without two additional ingredients, astounding bass player, Chuck Holiday and explosive drummer, Chris Hudson, both California natives. Together this revolutionary foursome have formed, along with their own unique influences, what the world now knows as THEM GUNS.

The connection between band members runs deep. Chance happenings frequently occur amongst these guys; such as Navarone having an idea one night when lyrics came to him in a dream for a song. The same night he wrote them down, Kyle had an idea for a melody to a song. Neither knew the others idea until the following day when it was mentioned on the phone. Kyle and Chuck played the melody to Navarone’s lyrics, and magic happened. The sound fit perfectly to the words.

Whether coincidence or deeper connection, their dynamic spirit continues to create a variety of ever evolving and alluringly progressive sounds. Their unique eclectic styles can be deemed a blend of influences churning out fan favorites including “Fireworks,” “Horoscope,” “Somebody Called the Cops,” “Devil’s Eye,” Shot in the Dark” and their most recent release “Acid Plane” are all perfectly orchestrated, influential and cinematic.

THEM GUNS have succeeded in forming a loyal following with sellout performances across the globe, amassing fans of kin along the way. Tens of thousands of fans repeatedly stream their music videos. The band’s fan base is one of the most loyal and stretch across the U.S., South America, Europe and Canada. They’ve played venues across the country including the West Coast, SXSW, the U.K and South America. The band is currently signed with powerhouse record label, TLG/Zoid, thru Virgin Music. Them Guns is best described as a musical prodigy about to conquer the world. The year 2024 will include new tour dates, new singles, and an upcoming album. Singer / Songwriter Chris Housman is 'Laid Back' with Pals Brooke Eden and Adam Mac in New Video

Earlier today queer country artist Chris Housman released his latest music video for “Laid Back.” The track, written by Housman along with Emily Kroll and Christian Wood and produced by Wood, is featured on his critically-acclaimed debut album, Blueneck, and offers his take on the classic Country summer song.

Featured recently on “CBS Sunday Morning’s” digital platforms, Housman shares of the track, “I love Country music and feel-good beats, and ‘Laid Back’ encapsulates both of those to me. I wanted to write a song reminiscent of those quintessential drinkin’ and sunnin’ songs you’d have on repeat on the boat on a hot summer day.”

The new clip, directed by Ford Fairchild and produced by Rebecca Adler, premiered via YouTube with the out singer/songwriter hosting a live Q&A before sharing the video. Shot at Percy Priest Lake, the video finds Housman and friends, including fellow queer country artists Brooke Eden and Adam Mac, enjoying a day of fishing and fun in the sun.

“Filming the video for ‘Laid Back’ was exactly that…spending the day on the water having a great time with great friends. One of my favorite things to do,” shares Housman. “We borrowed Adam and his fiancé Lee’s boat nicknamed ‘She Ain’t Fancy But She Floats’ - an appropriately named vessel for a song about making the perfect lake day out of a little. I grew up loving Country summer songs, and I hope the video shows that beer, boats and fishing are for queer people too!”

Watch “Laid Back” Below

Called “one of Nashville's most authentically soulful singer-songwriters “ by the Tennessean, the man USA Today declared a “gayme-changer” has brought together both a queer and country sensibility with his debut album that, to many, might seem at odds with one another. Yet backed by a rich six string sound, he delivers a classic twang infused with his Kansas baritone to gently, yet unapologetically, speak his truth at every turn. Listen to Blueneck HERE

An NPR All Songs Considered Best Album pick noting, “…he is making beautifully crafted music that any classic country fan would love,” Housman co-wrote all 13 tracks on the album, offering a musical bridge for a divided time. Called “irresistible” by Rolling Stone, with “Good Morning America” praising him for “making waves,” and Billboard hailing him as a beacon for “outcasts in the genre,” Housman’s message is a simple one: “Country music is for everyone.” Given the over 6 million streams and 279,000 online followers for an independent artist, it's clearly a message that the world wants to hear.

The native mid-westerner’s country credentials go beyond his music though. He was born and raised in Hanston, Kansas, the epitome of small-town America with a population of just 200. His childhood was rooted in the rural and the conservative, growing up on a farm and living for Country music. “At 7 years old, I loved going to Country jam sessions with my family. I would get mesmerized by this guy Tom, who played fiddle,” recounts Housman, “At Christmas, I got a fiddle from Santa, and I picked it up and ran from there.”

His talent was quickly apparent, and by the age of 8, he was performing with the family band, playing in venues across the state. Over time he would add other strings to his bow, learning to sing, play guitar, upright bass, piano, saxophone, spoons, banjo, and even whistle at a competitive level.

“I played a ton of shows as a kid,” he recalls, “but my relationship with Country changed when I turned 18 and I came out as gay.” He moved to Nashville to attend Belmont on an academic scholarship and stopped playing for some time. “I thought, ‘I can continue to be comfortable and out and gay, or I can do country music, but I definitely can’t do both.’" For a while, that was that.

However, the world of country music never quite let Housman go. After years working behind the scenes doing copyright and licensing for other artists, Housman couldn’t ignore the call of the stage anymore. It was a freak accident that brought him back into the fold. In 2014, Housman broke his neck, a shock to the system that made him realize he hadn’t moved to Nashville to just work on other peoples' music. After a brief stint in a duo, he began writing and performing at colleges across the country solo.

In fact, a number of tracks on his debut album have already been resonating with fans. Title track “Blueneck,” a welcoming homespun manifesto that proudly declares “Y’all means all,” went viral on TikTok taking the burgeoning singer from 72 followers to hundreds of thousands overnight and hit No. 1 on the iTunes country chart, No. 4 on iTunes all-music chart, and peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Digital Country chart.

Other previously released tracks like “Bible Belt,” an examination of religious trauma, and the fable-like “Drag Queen,” which celebrates a teacher of the year who goes from Michael to Michelle after hours, continued the dialogue between his genre and his lived experience. The clever wordplay and radio-friendly pop-country sounds made these songs instant hits with his rapidly expanding fanbase and expedited the release of his debut album.

“It feels like my life’s work. The thing I’ve been making since I picked up the fiddle at 7,” Housman effuses “It’s pretty upbeat and positive but it’s also my soul, my truth.”

The album’s recent release for “High Hopes” left Pride.com declaring Housman was “absolutely feeding us this summer” while the video for   “Guilty as Sin” saw its music video premiere in Times Square through CMT with Queerty calling it "defiantly gay." A special moment to be sure for an independent artist. However, for Housman, the greatest gift has been the response from fans.

“I see a lot of people out there who grew up loving country music, but gravitated away from it because they didn’t feel welcome there anymore,” shares the tattooed troubadour. “When those people tell me I helped them finally feel seen in the genre…that’s already living the dream as far as I’m concerned.”

Housman is one of six participants in this year’s Equal Access Development Program, an intensive artist and management training initiative created by CMT and management company mtheory to support underrepresented voices in country music.

The LA- based singer/songwriter/frontwoman brings her plethora of eclectic musical experiences together on The Spider Queen. In the 2000’s she churned out 3 full-length blues rock records The Key of V, Black Halo, and Whiskey or Water. After the release of the latter, Lynne spent from 2010-2023 developing, writing, and singing with symphonic metal project Vita Nova, writing and singing for prog metal juggernaut stOrk, and finally, forming, writing, and performing with symphonic rock duo The Spider Accomplice.

The diverse genres of these endeavors come together on The Spider Queen to create a sound that she has dubbed ‘blues metal.’

In 2023, she toured North America and Eastern Europe with the The Spider Accomplice, supporting symphonic metal act Visions of Atlantis and rock/glam metal duo Hoekstra Gibbs, respectively.

ORANSSI PAZUZU - Release Video For New Single 'Valotus' From New Album "Muuntautuja"

Finnish Psychedelic Black Metal innovators ORANSSI PAZUZU are pleased to announce that their latest mutational meisterwerk, Muuntautuja (or Shapeshifter in English) is set to be released on October 11th, 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records. A boa constrictor of slithering, warping, interdimensional cosmic horror, the band's sixth full-length Muuntautuja is in a world of its own, seeping through the speakers like irradiated sand. Ever transmuting, unsettling chords that raise the hairs on the back of your head and then pummel it with nauseating rhythms that both transport and destroy you.

Drawing inspiration from eclectic sources ranging from Death Grips to PortisheadNine Inch Nails (Downward Spiral era), Beherit and My Bloody ValentineORANSSI PAZUZU are a feast for those who dig deep, heavy and strange. With inhuman and biological sound, Muuntautuja is electronically charged, both organic and inorganic in origin.

Guitarist Ikon reflects:
"Our experimentation with samplers and electronics made us step towards the weird concept of making nightmarish Rave music. We tried to find common ground between danceable rhythms and oppressive waves of noise and distortion."

Muuntautuja transcends genres, embodying a transcendent experience that slimes listeners in its nightmare of space and metamorphosis. Jun-His (vocals & guitars) muses, "For us, this album is like a sculpture made of black electric ooze."

Await the release of Muuntautuja, ORANSSI PAZUZU’s fire in the sky, where reality bends and shapes shift with each and every haunting note, and you will be visited by higher beings, though not with your best intentions entirely at heart.

As of today, Muuntautuja can be pre-ordered and you can listen to a second single called 'Valotus'. Alongside the single a nightmarish, extremely unsettling music video has been released, which you can check out below.

Bailee Madison Unveils New Song, "Chiller"

Rising pop sensation Bailee Madison is back with her latest single, “Chiller.” With its catchy hook, vibrant lyrics, and irresistible beat, "Chiller" is poised to dominate airwaves and playlists everywhere. Out today, fans can pre-save/pre-add the song here.

Written by Madison along with her boyfriend, Blake Richardson (frontman of the British-Pop Trio, New Hope Club), and muti-genre hit writer Amy Stroup, “Chiller” sparkles with production by Richardson.

"'Chiller' was written about two months ago and it started with a conversation with my boyfriend Blake Richardson, who is also producing and writing this project with me,” said Madison. “We were chatting about some weird situations that I have been in lately that left an un-chill taste in my mouth. From random guys whistling to me and my girlfriends, to hands just a little too low during pictures with strangers, we wanted to write a song that didn’t take itself too seriously but had the underlying message of embracing your body, having the freedom to exist in utter confidence and unapologetic love for ourselves at all times. We should never have to feel uncomfortable, so to relay the uncomfortableness that comes with these situations onto the song, we focused on making the production around the lyrics feel almost daunting and off-centered at times.”

On her journey making music, she added, “For me, starting my music journey has been so healing. We rarely go into a session knowing what we are aiming for, and I try not to put myself in a box. Being uncomfortable helps me to grow and have a better understanding of myself. I love using music to push myself out of my comfort zone and to come out with a song like ‘Chiller’ with my amazing collaborators Amy Stroup, Rob Kleiner (track mix & master) and Blake. I think we really surprised ourselves, which is a great feeling. With so much more music to come, I’m so proud to release this song to the world. I hope you all like it.”

“Chiller” follows Madison’s debut song, “Kinda Fun,” which was released in January on Red Van Records. “Exploring music has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember,” she said and later told People Magazine, “I've been saved by music so many times, and if by any chance I'm able to have that connection with people, that would be such a treat.”

As an in-demand actress, Madison is currently starring in the globally renowned franchise and critically recognized reboot Pretty Little Liars, with season two’s Summer School streaming now. She first gained acclaim in the film Bridge To Terabithia and the physiological war drama Brothers. She’s continued to garner many notable roles, such as Just Go With ItThe Strangers: Prey at Night, the fantasy film North PoleWizards of Waverly PlaceGood Witch, and more. With the 2021 Netflix musical hit A Week Away, she has seamlessly immersed herself into the world of music, a passion that has always been in her heart to pursue.

UK electro-goth iconoclasts HISTORY OF GUNS presents 'What's Buried (Will Rise)' from new 'Half Light' album

“Invisible hooks that will sink further in” ~  Auxiliary Magazine

“By far, the most inventive UK band to have got their hands caught in the Industrial threshing machine” ~ Mick Mercer

"Like Killing Joke and Nine Inch Nails, they’ve taken on new forms whilst remaining easily identifiable in their journey from goth rock to post-punk and darkwave to EDM and wider electro-goth hybrid territory. The tension of opposites that characterises much of their work propels it forth to an electronic beat, the vocals uncoiling, snake-like, atop a steady electronic catchment" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

“Polished, dramatic, full of poise and binding sentiment, and one of awesome sound and feeling” ~ Liverpool Sound and Vision

Hertfordshire-based industrial-postpunk legends History Of Guns. who were frontrunners of the UK's Wasp Factory / FuturePunk scene of the early 2000s, present 'What's Buried (Will Rise)'  from their newly-released eighth album 'Half Light'.

On this album, founding members Del Alien (vocals) and Max Rael (keyboards, programming) are joined by guitarist Caden Clarkson (the newest member of History Of Guns) in exploring the human condition through various musical genres. Produced Max Rael, 'Half Light' was mixed by Max Rael and Caden Clarkson, and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Pixies, Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, NIN).

Still crafting their unique meta-modernist Industrial sound 28 years since forming in Cheshunt, the new album (released via the Liquid Len Recording Company) was previewed by the singles 'No Longer Earthbound' and 'When You Don't Matter'. The new single explores the psychological repression experienced by non-conformists and the systematic amnesia that emerges from that, where only specific memories or groups of ideas are withdrawn from recollection.

"How well do we really know ourselves? The “introspection illusion" suggests that the way we view ourselves is probably inherently distorted. In terms of the conscious, the subconscious and the unconscious, how much of how we think and behave is driven by each aspect? Freud & Jung's theories of repression say that the more you try to bury something that happened, or some aspect of your self the more it will come back in some form or other as "the return of the repressed'," says Max Rael.

"As for the video, I've always been obsessed with that kind of high contrast black white look ever since I fell in love with Orson Welles. I was watching the recent adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's Talented Mr Ripley books on Netflix, and there's an episode where Tom and Dicky are out in this little two-man boat. Because the songs on 'Half Light' are aligned to the Greek Elements, I thought it'd be great to have this video in black and white, with shots of submerged objects floating to the surface. We had some help from ace director and VFX supremo Howard Gardner. I think the end result is intriguing, and a bit wrong, but hopefully wrong in a good way!"

The roots of 'Half Light' trace back to electronic tunes they had begun in 2008, surrounding the unpredictability of the future and elements of the novel that Max Rael is currently writing, exploring both inner and outer space. An album in three acts, the first four tracks make up Act One (opening a door), then 'Flashes of Light Pt. 5' walks through that door. Act Two closes with the album's most joyous point - 'Arcadia', with four tracks in the final act.

History Of Guns aims to create a strange alternative world where people can feel safe. This doesn’t mean the album is all joy. It has a lot of darkness in it, like life itself. History Of Guns embrace the dark as well as the light, bleakness and hope, as openly and unironically honestly as possible. Here you'll find songs about mental health, society, addiction, abandonment, different levels of reality and the struggle to keep going. Yet through this darkness, there remains underneath, a core of hope.

Del Alien - an original punk turned goth - is an anti-authority seeker of truth and the questions behind the questions. Max Rael is in love with the idea of using music to create a separate universe for creating stories and escaping into, was an autistic, music-obsessed child, absorbing a dozen genres before diving into trance after Britpop ruined the alternative scene.

History of Guns' 2004 single 'Your Obedient Servant' was championed by The Quietus and Mick Mercer among the “30 best goth singles of all time”. Taking hiatus in 2012, they released the album 'Forever Dying In Your Eyes' in 2022. Influenced by Killing Joke, PWEI, Bauhaus, Coil, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Nine Inch Nails and Swans, History of Guns have played Whitby Gothic Weekend, as well as Futurepunkand Back to the Futurepunk events.

The 'Half Light' album is out now, available from fine music platforms, such as SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp.

PIG (a.k.a. Raymond Watts) releases 'Red Room' album via Metropolis Records, announcing North American tour

Raymond Watts a.k.a. PIG has released his new album 'Red Room' on CD and digitally via Metropolis Records and on vinyl via Armalyte Industries, and will be bringing the album to life through the colossal ‘Heroin For The Damned’ tourwith Curse Mackey and Unitcode : Machine. The 40-date itinerary follows a headlining set at Cold Waves XII in Chicago on September 28.

Following the 2022 album ‘The Merciless Light’, ‘Red Room’ is the sound of Watts beating the hammer of hope on the anvil of despair. But, far from being the dying light of decay, this is a spark, an ember and a torch in transition, lighting up the house of PIG before Watts burns it up and blows it down, cutting through yhrscaly rind to PIG's tender heart and soft underbelly.

Earlier, PIG shared the thunderous intro track ‘Crumbs Chaos & Lies’ featuring Alexis Mincolla (3Teeth) with a riveting video by the elusive visionary Ibex, and the lead track ‘Dum Dum Bullet’ with a penetrating video by E Gabriel Edvy for Blackswitch Labs. This anthem features a choir of iconic guests that include Chris Connelly (Revolting Cocks, Ministry), I Ya Toyah, En Esch (KMFDM), Emily Kavanaugh (Night Club), Chris Hall (Stabbing Westward), Burton C Bell (Fear Factory, Ascension of the Watchers) and Marc Heal (Cubanate).

Watts co-wrote much of ‘Red Room’ with Jim Davies of Pitchshifter, best known for his acidic and acerbic guitar lines on many chart hits by The Prodigy. Other guests include Chris Hall (Stabbing Westward), who delivers a soaring vocal performance on ‘The Sick Man's Prayer’, Watts' old KMFDM bandmate Günther Schulz (a.k.a. 'The Czar of Guitar'), who appears on the anthemic ‘Dirty Mercy’, and the great jazz trumpeter Enrico Tomasso (who has worked on and off with Watts for three decades), who brings his deft and delicate touch to ‘PIG Is At The Window’.

Watts has had a stellar career since cutting his teeth in the mid-1980s industrial rock scene as a member of KMFDM. Apart from releasing 14 albums as PIG, he has toured with Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM and Einstürzende Neubauten, written music for fashion and film (Chloe, Marios Schwab, Halston, The Row), and even did sound design for the exhibition 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Watts also collaborated with the late fashion icon Alexander McQueen, who commissioned him (with John Gosling) to embellish the serene instrumental track ‘Inside’ (from PIG's 1999 album ‘Genuine American Monster’) for the soundtrack to ‘Plato’s Atlantis’. The show was reprised after McQueen’s untimely death in as the finale of ‘Savage Beauty', a posthumous retrospective that broke all records at both The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

'Red Room' is out now, available on CD and digitally from fine online platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. On August 23, PIG will also re-release the seminal album 'Sinsation (Remastered)', originally released in the mid-1990s on Trent Reznor's label Nothing Records.
