San Francisco's OCTAVIAN WINTERS release debut EP 'The Line or Curve', oscillating between shadow and shimmer

"Capturing progressive sounds and thoughts, weaving them together in a dark and lush tapestry of near-classic post-punk, oscillating between shadow and shimmer. Reflecting the troubled times that we live in, sublime dark sonic delight" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Feels like it was recorded in a studio deep beneath the earth, drawing power from subterranean caves and bubbling magma. There’s tectonic thunder in the pounding drums and rumbling bass... Such power, strong and true, a voice that scales the wall of sound beneath her with ease" ~ Joyzine

"A dark musical weave forged of post-punk and gothic strands. A sonic web that is a neat blend of pulsing bass grooves and shaded ethereality, dark and delicious guitar slashes, and haunting sound washes" ~ The Big Takeover

"Seriously compelling incitement, which Aursjoen’s tones and the electronically atmospheric mists around her only escalate" ~ Ringmaster Review

San Francisco post-punk outfit
Octavian Winters presents their debut album 'The Line or Curve', released via Stratis Capta Records with 'Velveteen' as the focus track. The band has also released a video for the latest single 'Surreal'.

Born into the ghostly isolation of San Francisco in 2022 and drawing from darkwave and post-punk traditions, Octavian Winters dives into the ethereal, their layered music counterpointing edged grooves alongside lush synth textures and soaring vocal harmonies. In the lead up to the album, the band released the singles
'Undertow' and 'Ondine'.

Recorded in San Francisco by
Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto, Consolidated) at OW Studio and Room 5 Recording, this EP was produced by Octavian Winters and William Faith (The Bellwether Syndicate, Faith and the Muse, Christian Death, The March Violets), whose credits include Jarboe, Clan of Xymox, Bootblacks and Autumn, Faith also mixed and mastered the album at 13 Studio in Chicago.

Octavian Winters is guitarist Stephan Salit (Thrill of The Pull), drummer Randy Gzebb (Thrill of The PullLove Club,), bassist Jay Denton and Ria (Amenti) Aursjoen on vocals and keyboards. Together, they weave their visceral and ethereal sound into a texture all its own – of stories once told but half-remembered, under a dusk of shadows and stars, in an abandoned city under the winter moon.

“This record is very special to me as this was a totally different experience – putting a group of well-respected musicians together and starting the writing process in the middle of a pandemic, when the world was in isolation and in a state of shock. I think the whole feeling with everyone working ideas out together produced a special vibe when we got together and started writing the songs. I would start off with a drum groove and everyone started adding their ideas. After working out the ideas out with little back and forth, we started recording demos, which sounded like finished tracks without the polish you get when tracks a have been through the mixing phase,” says Randy Gzebb.

“This record is a powerful mix of ethereal, shoegaze and darkwave genres, which came naturally when we started writing the record. Each song has a slightly different feel from start to finish. The opening track ‘Ondine’ opens the record to both prepare and excite the listener, summing the emotions and leaving some of what’s coming to the imagination. There are many shades of music here. Everything is so richly textured and weaves through this ethereal powerful element.”

This album is about coming to terms with isolation and loss in various forms, touching on themes that the whole world has dealt with face to face for the past few years – feelings and repercussions that have left a deep imprint on all of us. The music and lyrics are a natural extension of these emotions and thoughts, bubbling under the surface.

“The name of the record – ‘The Line or Curve’ – references the idea of symbols and sigils, which are intricate collections of lines and curves. They are expressions, arrangements or gateways of energy and if correctly drawn they may invoke and transform. But the configuration of lines and curves is vital; if not right, a sigil is useless and has no power. So at each point you are choosing whether to draw a line, or a curve,” says Ria Aursjoen.

“But it is also metaphor for the choice we have of our world view. It references geometries. In one geometric system the shortest path is a line. But in a curved space the shortest path is a curve. We can describe the world through either geometry. So, which way of looking at the world do we choose?  This brings us back to the theme of separation and disconnection; the past few years have unearthed such deep divides over different world views that there is often no desire to attempt reconnection. My hope is that we will come to appreciate the common shapes expressed in our different geometries, our different world views.”

Each member of Octavian Winters brings their own rich musical tapestry to the collective and have shared the stage with many iconic acts over the years, including Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Lords of the New Church, Savage Republic, Christian Death, The Frozen Autumn, Everything Goes Cold and Black Tape for a Blue Girl.

'The Line or Curve' EP is out digitally on October 13, including via
Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. On October 31, they play San Francisco's Bottom of The Hill (with Dead Souls and The Reptile House) and Sacramento's Cafe Colonial (with Ashes Fallen) on November 8.

Kill The Lights Share Video for New Single "Scapegoat"

Kill The Lights, which features former members of Bullet for My Valentine, Throw the Fight, Threat Signal, and Still Remains, have dropped the video for new single "Scapegoat." Watch it below.

It follows "
Hear You Scream," which dropped in the summer. Watch the video here.

Classic and modern metal styles collide "Scapegoat." The band storms out of the gates from the opening note, while galloping, noodly riffs kick the song into high gear, with the lyrics delivered in a savage, hell bound style. Guttural roars give way to an utterly pretty clean and melodic style with seamless ease, and it effectively shows just how brutal Kill The Lights are. "Scapegoat" is utterly mosh-tastic!

"'Scapegoat' discusses the feeling of being trapped in your own head, believing that there is no escape or place that you can turn to for help," the band explains. "The constant cycles of self-doubt, anger, and depression eat away at your confidence and willingness to make changes. It's like your setting yourself up to fail — always choosing the path with the most negative outcomes or most toxic situations."

LYLVC Premiere "Crawl Space" Video at New Noise + Touring This Fall

CLEAN VOCALIST ALYSE ZAVALA TALKS DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS!

Opening with the words "Smile fake beaten, I can't evolve," LYLVC have delivered the ultimate hard-hitting, emotional track with "Crawl Space." Now being streamed exclusively by New Noise Magazine, head over to hear the full single, grab new LYLVC tour dates, and hear about how clean vocalist, Alyse Zavala, killed it as a contestant on FOX's
Don't Forget The Lyrics!

Watch the "Crawl Space" video below.

Reflecting on creating "Crawl Space," Zavala offered the following on its origin story: "Unfortunately some people in this world are treated as less than human, or treated as if their death doesn't matter compared to other people. Some people are bullied or abused, kicked when they are down, and have just had an extremely rough experience with life and opportunities in general. It's not uncommon for many of these people leaving those abusive situations to end up in other abusive situations that have different scenery, but still bad for them. I have had times in my life, especially during my childhood, when I was treated pretty inhumanely. As I went from a bad situation or 'prison' to another bad situation/prison, I struggled with wondering if my death would even matter to anyone. 'How can I survive in a world that doesn't care if I'm alive?' I was able to overcome my personal traumas and somehow landed an extremely successful career, but I still struggle sometimes with feeling paralyzed if my life really matters to anyone or if I'm still the lost little girl stuck in a crawl space."

Zavala continues, "LYLVC wrote this song with Tyler Connolly of the band Theory of a Deadman. It was amazing working with him and Mike Plotnikoff and feeling like they were open-minded to us writing this story without judgment. We wanted this song to be extremely vivid and gut-wrenching, without feeling censored, and Mike and Tyler empowered us to use words with powerful imagery without making us edit the language down. It's powerful, it's catchy, and it's real."

See this and LYLVC’s recently released tracks including, "Into Nothing," "Perfect Drug," and "Undertow" on the road, as the sextet embarks on a fall tour around the U.S. with other modern rock favorites Pop Evil and Fame on Fire. Tour dates are below.

A lyricist and performer to the fullest, Alyse was recently voted to be a contestant on FOX's Don’t Forget The Lyrics!; the show that requires participants to sing along to tracks and fill in the missing lyrics when the music cuts out. Hosted by the beloved Niecy Nash, Alyse walked away from the show with $25,000 of winnings and one hell of a story to tell.

Thinking back on her FOX debut, Alyse asserts, "I wasn't really nervous, but I also didn't have any time to study at all. I had to fly to film this episode right before our tour with Atreyu earlier this year, so I mostly just hoped to get songs that I would actually know. I was worried that I would open a category with two songs I have never heard of before, and what can you really do when that happens? I told myself that I would just accept my fate and focus on having fun no matter what the song choices were. Niecy Nash was super supportive and funny, and cracked a lot of computer hacker jokes with me off-camera about my day job. I had a blast and everyone off the set was so much fun and kept commenting on my lilac hair and asking about our band, LYLVC. The film crew actually had a technical glitch while they were filming me, and they had to reboot the computer. I swore that it wasn't me... lol."

Catch this emotive hacker and the rest of LYLVC at a venue nearest you! Their performances kick off on October 28 in Arkansas and prove to be as alive and creative as their music videos, mimicking their real lives and big-time personalities. This is an alt-rock band that truly comes alive on stage, giving their all in every city, every state.

HourHouse Announce "Gold Tooth Guru" Album + Share "LSD" Video

NOLA-based genre-smashers HourHouse know all about the hard graft and building something from nothing.

Raised in an array of Louisiana parishes circling New Orleans, the quintet — vocalist Milly, guitarist and vocalist Nick "Neeco" Trahan, drummer Robb Barrio, bassist Travvy Thomas, and guitarist Mattie Cortopassi — found their way to each other via shared loves of (depending on who you ask) nu metal and hip-hop, horror films and country music, anime and streetwear, skateboarding and NFL, Meshuggah and…. Nickelback. A diverse buffet of influence, some might even say a mismatch, but it's this very diversity that forms the creative heart beating at HourHouse's very core.

Today, the band announces its debut album GOLD TOOTH GURU, which arrives November 10 via UNFD. Pre-save it
here.

HourHouse also shared the video for "LSD." Watch it
below and stick around to find out what happens after an epic (Hour)House Party!

"Nothing is what it seems. You control everything just look inside yourself," says Milly about the song and visual.

It's got all the swagger and style, the riffs and the rhymes — just like the rest of the album, which is full of crunchy, buzzsaw guitar attacks, plate-shifting breakdowns, trap beats, and 808 grooves. Keeping on top of it all, lead vocalist Milly oscillates effortlessly between raw, untamed bellows and spitting head spinning bars of complex rhyme, while his "podna"-in-crime Neeco comes correct with a whiskey-soaked throat that is shaded with as much Nashville as it is '90s Seattle. Yep, spend just a couple of minute with the HH "mob" and you'll be want to namedrop everyone from Meshuggah, Korn and Linkin Park to Kendrick, $uicideboy$, and Post Malone.

Milly notes that their hometown functions like a sixth member of the band due to the way the region and culture factor into their sound, stating, "Louisiana plays a heavy role into our sound and direction of the album — it's like a huge melting pot down here, different music everywhere you turn. Rap and metal are big here especially. We never wanted to box ourselves in with trying to be a certain type of band and only make one type of music."

The same applies to the subject matter and lyrical content.

Milly continues, "Our surroundings play a big part in the content. It may be out of the ordinary compared to most bands, but it’s all we've known. It's everything we’ve been brought up seeing and living through — it's not just Mardi Gras and voodoo down here, it can be a real warzone. The main themes are unity, determination, and staying true to yourself no matter what you go through. Hard times make strong people but sometimes those hard times feel like it's all you can see in front of you. Life for young people like us is constant highs and lows, and this album is sort of our way of navigating through it all."

One Morning Left Share New Video "Neon Inferno (Paradise)"

Finnish metalcore eccentrics ONE MORNING LEFT will enrapture audiences with their new single "Neon Inferno (Paradise)," a compelling narrative of a passionate yet tumultuous love affair. This song intricately weaves celestial with hellish imagery, painting a vivid portrait of a love that is as divine as it is destructive.

Watch the video
below.

ONE MORNING LEFT's fourth album marked their first new material in five years. On Hyperactive
, the group began a whole new chapter in their story, drawing inspiration from retro electronic and video game music, as well as '80s hard rock, while staying true to their heavier roots.

Changes have been afoot not only in the band's musical style, but also in their lineup. Returning from the cast of 2016's Metalcore Superstars are frontman Mika Lahti, guitarist/vocalist Leevi Luoto, and drummer Niko Hyttinen. Additional firepower is provided by new faces Tuukka Ojansivu on guitar and Miska Sipiläinen on bass guitar, as well as the return-to-form of keyboard player Touko Keippilä from the band's original Panda <3 Penguin lineup.

Founded in 2008 in Vaasa, Finland, ONE MORNING LEFT are well-known for their unique blend of electro, hardcore and metalcore influences, as well as their entertaining and energetic live shows where absolutely anything can happen.

GREEN LUNG REVEAL VIDEO FOR HEAVIEST SONG TO DATE 'ONE FOR SORROW'

Less than a month from the release of their hotly anticipated third album, This Heathen Land through Nuclear Blast Records on 3rd November, London's GREEN LUNG have released their heaviest song to date, 'One For Sorrow'. A masterfully crafted blend of traditional doom with gothic synth atmospheres and a crushing slow-motion beatdown, its lyrics exploring the burden of depression make it the band's most nakedly human song yet.

Tom Templar says "This was the last song we wrote for the album, and it's the only song on This Heathen Land that doesn't relate to a physical landscape of Britain, but instead the skies above. It features some of my most personal lyrics yet, but it's still steeped in folklore - the variation of the popular 'One for Sorrow' rhyme at the end dates back to 1780, and is wonderfully creepy. We were delighted to welcome back Julian Firth to play the ornithologist in the music video, along with Blackthorn Ritualistic Folk, who created some incredible costumes and a truly uncanny magpie creature."

Watch the video for 'One For Sorrow' below.

This Heathen Land is the most complete manifestation of the band’s vision to date, fulfilling their long-held goal to, in the words of vocalist Tom Templar, “create the definitive soundtrack to the folk horror film in our heads.” On This Heathen Land, the band have forged a sound and identity that is entirely their own, while maintaining the Sabbathian heaviness and addictive songcraft which made their previous albums so beloved in the metal underground. From the cover art to the vinyl inserts and lyrical themes, This Heathen Land is a painstakingly-researched and executed heavy metal love letter to the folkloric landscape of the UK.

This Heathen Land was produced by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios and was mixed by Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Clutch, Ghost).

Extol Return With Double Single "Labyrinth of Ill" + Exigency"

EXTOL, the pioneering Norwegian death metal band once celebrated by The Wall Street Journal for "roaring, blizzardlike guitar shredding, frantic drumming, startling time-signature changes, and gear-stripping growls," are back — and in a big way.

The band has shared not one but two brand new singles.

It's the first new music from Extol in a decade and it's a welcome return, which finds Christer Espevoll back in the ranks.

Today, fans can rejoice at the forward-thinking sounds of "Labyrinth of Ill"and "Exigency."  Listen
here.

The songs set the table for Extol's first live appearances since 2014 and a pre-cursor to what's next — expect more music.

Each of the members — guitarist Ole Børud, vocalist Peter Espevoll, aforementioned guitarist Christer Espevoll, and drummer David Husvik — offered their unique insight into the new material.

"The new songs have that perfect blend of hooks, quirks, and melody, coupled with the distinct flavor of a lineup featuring David, Peter, Christer, and yours truly. And top that off with an excellent mix from Jens Bogren. I'm very happy," says Børud.

Peter Espevoll shares the sentiments, saying "I can't believe it's been a decade since we released the latest Extol album. I'm really stoked about the fact that Christer is on board again! It kind of feels like the good old days!"

"The way we wrote 'Labyrinth of Ill' took me back to the good old days," says Christer Espevoll. "It has the distinct impression of all members baked into a recognizably unique Extol cookie: Brutal riffing and tight, yet floating rhythmic section, meeting pleasant melodies, and atypical metal harmonies, topped off with a slightly outside guitar solo that leaves you wanting more, all in classic  Extol fashion. I can't wait to continue this new Extol chapter!"

"'Labyrinth of Ill' has definitely renewed my faith in Extol and our ability to play rock music once again," shares Husvik. "Who doesn't wanna go to church when they hear the 'Patience' passages play ping pong with Ole's guitar solo? Brutal, but at the same time disturbingly cozy."

ABOUT EXTOL:
Extol formed in 1993, gained rapid recognition in the extreme metal scene for their innovative fusion of intricate technicality, melodic sensibilities, and faith-based lyrics. Over the years, Extol's distinctive style evolved, incorporating elements of progressive metal, black metal, thrash, and other avant-garde influences. Undeceived (2000) and Synergy (2003) explored complex song structures, while The Blueprint Dives (2005) took a more experimental and progressive rock direction while still retaining their metal roots, earning them their first Norwegian Grammy nomination.

Despite lineup changes, Extol remained committed to defying genre conventions.

In 2013, they returned with a self-titled album, receiving critical acclaim for its technical prowess and progressive approach, earning global respect for their musicianship. Their enduring legacy continues to inspire new generations of metal musicians.

Toronto-NYC power trio ON unveils Florida-inspired 'Gator' video, shot by Steve Fall and iconic NYC producer Martin Bisi

"A cool album. A smart album. A deftly crafted album. A rock album? Yes…but much more. So much more" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A clever blend of pop melody with raw rock abrasiveness in quite a potent sonic sucker punch. Their very tight weave of classic and alt rock coated grunge works fabulously" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Its DNA intwértwined with sounds once pounded out by the likes of the Pumpkins, Hole and L7...  one of the most exciting outfits to emerge post-pandemic" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

Toronto-NYC indie rock power trio
ON has unveiled the video for their latest single 'Gator'. This infectious 6/8 groove is a hook-laden rock waltz, released via Toronto imprint Indiestructable Records.

ON is a power trio led by Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass) with Dan Cornelius on drums and Steve Fall on guitars. Their latest music output sees the trio carry on the legacy of the band from which they were formed - 90's Sire Records band
Acid Test. its members have also been in other popular Toronto bands Danko Jonesand Deliuss.

Filmed by legendary producer Martin Bisi at BC Studio Brooklyn and Steve Fall in Toronto and Naples, Florida, this video was edited by Michael Gucciardi. Frontwoman Lucy Di Santo invites, "Come on down - live in our oh-so safe Gated Community - you'll live stronger for longer", adding "Who is really living free here?  I think it's the gators in the pond."

In the video, Di Santo plays a shady real estate agent, doing her sleazy best to sell the viewer on the idea of buying into a gated community, where you can feel safe. Meanwhile, behind pink homes and walls, alligators roam freely sunning themselves at will on gated golf greens. So who is really free?

The band has recently been recording their next album at BC Studio in Brooklyn, working with Martin Bisi, famed for his groundbreaking work with Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Africa Bambaataa, Dresden Dolls, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop and many other notable artists.

Dishing out infectious guitar riffs with a dash of groove, their adrenaline-laden music is a invigorating, the band paying homage to their post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock roots. 'Gator' follows up the band's latest single
'Make Me', a song of frustration and wanting to recapture that euphoria.

“We had a cool riff and Lucy had a great melody but we didn't have an intro to the song. We were working this up demoing it in Drew's 'Starsound Studios' in Cape Coral , Fla. Lucy took a break, went into the truck we rented and hummed a melody. I copied it on my guitar through my cheap Blackstar practice amp w/the delay feature and we put it down as a track. The vibe just worked so we kept that original track in the main verse and as a hook throughout the song. And that original track stayed even as we added more layers and mixed," says Steve Fall.

Dan Cornelius adds, “The song has a strong guitar hook and melody - and the drums are tailored to  support and enhance those elements. So I thought the drums  should be a drum pattern that anyone could tap along to ON their steering wheel while waiting for traffic. Simple drum groove. Simple drum fills.”

ON recently completed an extensive US tour in support of their critically-acclaimed 'ON' album, co-produced by
Darius Szczepaniak (Sum 41, Black Crowes, Big Sugar, Bare Naked Ladies, Jann Arden) at Phase One Studios in Toronto. The album received extensive press and radio attention, not to mention charting in the Radio Indie Alliance charts consecutively for nearly a year.

'Gator' is out now and available from
fine music platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. The band will be playing select New York and Ontario tour dates throughout October.

Rocket Kings present 'She's Going To Mars', the second single from their new full-length album 'Paving The Way', previewed by a playful video for the title track.  With 12 tracks on offer, this is the band's sophomore album, loaded with ukuleles, melodies, harmonies - like a sweet cocktail of The Beautiful South, Teenage Fanclub, Belle and Sebastian and The Cranberries.

Formed in 2016, Rocket Kings is made up of Dave Stewart (ukulele, vocals), Bex Crossland (vocals, ukulele), David Heath (drums), Jess Tuthill (ukulele, vocals), and Yoshiko Nakayama (bass). United by their love of music, their positivity is infectious through the upbeat, original pop-rock songs they perform. With three ukuleles in their line-up, along with bass and drums: this is ukepop as you've never heard it before!

Stewart says, “Bex is an astronaut! On our previous album,
'Everyday Adventures', there was a song called ‘Space Camp’, which I wrote about Bex’s actual visit to NASA’s US Space and Rocket Centre, where she participated in astronaut training. So on this album, we came up with ‘She’s Going to Mars’ about what Bex did next! The backing vocals on the song are actually some of the lyrics from the original ‘Space Camp’ song.”

The 'Paving the Way' album was recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by Josh McCrohan at Creative Control Studio in Bracknell. Dave Stewart produced this record together with McCrohan, who has become a really important factor in Rocket Kings' sounds. Having provided professional sound services for Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull, Echo & The Bunnymen, Squeeze, Paul Young and Fairport Convention, among others, his input has been invaluable.

"We are really excited to share this album with people. It is chock full of Rocket Kings signature sounds and, as with our first album, these 12 songs are laden with top tunes and harmonies. The overall sound is perhaps a little more rocky this time around, and we regularly use overdrive and phaser pedals. We even have trumpet on a couple of tracks," says Dave Stewart.

"The song arrangements were more collaborative this time around, partly because we feel like we are all playing better than ever as a band and we feed off each other with creative ideas. Also partly because the band found themselves with time to meet up just after Covid without gigs to practice for. Amongst other things, there are songs about space (a regular theme for the band), yellow birds, missing museums, faithful dogs, tall tales and the Berlin Wall."

The band debuted on the music scene with
‘The Spellbound EP' in 2018, influenced by Teenage Fanclub, Lou Reed, The Kinks, The Wedding Present, Status Quo and The La’s.

The 'Paving the Way' album is out now, available digitally and also on limited edition vinyl and CD via
Bandcamp. The album will also be available via other fine digital outlets, including Spotify and Apple Music.  The band also recently shared a series of demos (from 2016), called 'Intense Whirlwind'.

Bones UK Drop New Single + Music Video "Ride" via Sumerian Records

Bones UK have today dropped their new single "Ride" and the accompanying music video (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the track, the band shared:

"'RIDE' is a response to toxic masculinity and the pressure people feel to buy certain things or to look a certain way. No amount of money can buy cool or happiness. It’s not about the size of the machine it’s what you do with it, that ALWAYS counts.

So many people, men and women, live their lives thinking that the more they have, and the shinier and newer what they have is, the happier they will be. And the more fulfilled their lives will feel. For men the phrase, "bigger is better" is always being thrown about. And we wanted to turn all of those ideas on their head. Maybe it’s less about "Big dick energy" and more about "Don't BE A DICK energy."

Stream the track here, and watch the official music video below.

BONES UK are on a mission of intent. “We want our music to empower, to make you feel like you’ve found your home, your gang, your army,” the London raised/LA based duo confidently assert. “We want to help you get out of bed in the morning - to be proud of every scar or beautiful imperfection, on or inside your body. We want our music to make you stand on your bed and scream “FUCK FITTING IN!”” Made up of vocalist Rosie Bones and virtuoso guitarist Carmen Vandenberg, the GRAMMY-nominated BONES UK don’t waste a second of their self-titled debut album, confronting everything from the beauty industrial-complex to toxic masculinity and music-scene sexism; embedding each track with choruses primed for passionate shouting along.

Blacktoothed Share "Carried Away" Video — WATCH

In the newest musical offering from blacktoothed, listeners are taken on a poignant journey through the highs and lows of chasing after one's dreams. The new single, titled "Carried Away," magnificently intertwines melodic grace with profound lyrics.

Watch the video
below

"Carried Away" eloquently expresses the dichotomy of time — a force that both propels dreams forward and serves as a reminder of the hurdles that yet lay ahead. Each note and each lyric invites listeners into a world where passion meets obstacle, and dreams are both a source of inspiration and a wellspring of tumultuous emotions.

In the haunting refrains of "Carried Away," blacktoothed provide not just a melody, but an empathetic voice to the silent struggles that echo in the hearts of dreamers worldwide.

"Ladies and gentlemen, whilst listening to our latest release, let yourself get carried away by the highest note ever to come out of the vocal chords of a male person at Sawdust Recordings, according to our dear producer Christoph Wieczorek. Damn, [singer] Henni was hitting that G on the last chorus note like a pro," says guitarist Mathilde.

Enterprise Earth Announce New Forthcoming Album 'Death: An Anthology' out February 2 (via MNRK Heavy) + Unleash New Single + Music Video "King of Ruination"

Enterprise Earth fans, rejoice! The band has made their triumphant return with the announcement of their forthcoming new album, 'Death: An Anthology', stacked with features from some of deathcore's finest including but not limited to, Matt Heafy (Trivium), Darius Tehrani (Spite), and Wes Hauch (Alluvial). The upcoming full-length will be released on Friday, February 2 (via MNRK Heavy). In celebration of the news, the band has unleashed their apocalyptic new single "King of Ruination" featuring Ben Duerr from Shadow of Intent (which premiered on SiriusXM's Liquid Metal) along with the hauntingly brutal official music video directed by Nick Chance. Speaking on today's news, the band shared:

"'King of Ruination' ushers in the new era of Enterprise Earth, a violent and punishing force of groove-centric metal. This is merely a glimpse of what we have in store for you all on 'Death: An Anthology', thank you for listening."

Vocalist Travis Worland also commented:

"Coming from a heinously religious upbringing and background, death has been at the forefront of my mind since childhood. Going to Hell, going to Heaven, going nowhere at all, being stuck between two polar opposite eternities. So, I wrote about it. From all manner of perspectives. The death of self, the death of someone or something important to you, the death of a relationship, the death of individuality, fantastical stories of what awaits us when we die. Death takes many forms and can be spoken of in so many different lights. This is my story of death and dying. This is 'Death: An Anthology'."

'Death: An Anthology' will also be available in "Black Ice" and "Inferno" vinyl formats exclusive to the band (available here), as well as "Ghostly" and "Copper Nugget" vinyl formats through the MNRK Heavy Shop at the link here. Chicago's Evidence of a Struggle introduces 'Seize', final offering in an audio-visual storybook for their eponymous debut album

"Wonderfully cinematic, forward-thinking, open-minded, genre-hopping, rule-breaking... a symphony of sonics, subtlety and suppleness, and of the subverting of expectations" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"'Keep It' is a relentless prowl of low rumbling concrete scattered with the glass shards of guitar and keyboards. The controlled chaos of the instrumentation is in slow motion and the song maintains both an epic feel as well as the queasy sense of being drunk and disorientated in an dystopian landscape" ~ Joyzine

"Fascinating... This melodic journey expertly fuses the innovative textures of art rock with the insurgent spirit of alternative music... a complex and immersive auditory universe" ~ Post-Punk.com

"'Combines the coolness of electric jazz, Krautrock-inspired post-rock and atmospheric art rock... a gripping and upbeat, yet refined, sound and thoughtful arrangement with sonic prowess" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Chaotic and lovely" ~ Punk Rock Beat

Chicago-based artist
Evidence of a Struggle presents a new audio-visual experience for the latest single 'Seize'. This follows up 'Keep It', the only song on the album featuring vocals in a wonderful spoken-word meets post-rock clash.  His debut record, this 13-track collection takes the listener on a great instrumental journey, blending numerous sub-genres spanning the art rock and alternative music realm.

Surrounding the musings of multi-instrumentalist William P C Simmons V a.k.a.
Rev. Billy Simmons, Evidence of a Struggle creates lush, cinematic, beautiful and sometimes chaotic compositions. While music thrives at night, other affairs rule his days. Rev. Billy owns and runs Rev. Billy's Chop Shop, a salon that is also an inclusive, creative space, hosting new artists' work bimonthly (and declared by Chicago Reader as the city's best gallery in 2019).

"Seize is the final song and animated video from Evidence of a Struggle's eponymous release from June 2023. It is a short of all seven videos made by artist
John Airo from the 13-song instrumental album. Stay tuned for more from Evidence of a Struggle in 2024 and 2025 we have so much more for you to see and hear," says Rev Billy.

Launched in 2020, this ambitious debut album sees Rev. Billy play every instrument – guitar, drums, piano, synth and violin - recorded and engineered from his home studio, The Glue Factory. Once Covid restrictions were lifted, renowned sound engineer Sanford Parker (Voivod, Russian Circles, Yob, Eyehategod, Wovenhand, Darkthrone) helped produce, record and master the final versions of these songs.

Earlier, Rev. Billy collaborated with RCA artist Ké and artists on major labels RCA, Touch and Go, BMG and Universal. Evidence of a Struggle's next album involves collaborations with a wider circle of artists, including drummer
Matt Walker (of1000faces, Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, Garbage, Filter) and bassist Alan Berliant (Chris Connelly, Mavis Staples, Saint Asonia), in addition to production support from Solomon Walker (Morrissey, Bryan Adams, Eastern Shadows, Year of the Rabbit).

The 'Evidence of a Struggle' album is out now and is available via

IAN PICKERING (Sneaker Pimps / Front Line Assembly) presents THE NOISE WHO RUNS' new single 'One Scratch Each'

"Ian Pickering is among the most relevant songwriters of this generation, with topical subject matter, sharp lyricism, a relatable attitude and music that is addictive as F*&@. The same spunk that the progenitors of punk and orderly chaos of early post-punk were made of" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Beguiling... anthemic yet accessible, gothic, grand and graceful, delicately dance-driven and dark, coiled and ornate, slow and seductive" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Poetic brutality... the anthemic grace and stature of something by The Sisters of Mercy: it has an Arctic chill through which a lyrical, passionate heat radiates" ~ Backseat Mafia

"Ethereal electronic intimation. Light and dark entangle... true splendour and prowess" ~ Ringmaster Review

UK-France duo
The Noise Who Runs presents 'One Scratch Each', the first single from their new five-song EP ‘come and join the beautiful army’, to be released on November 22nd. This is a brooding, slightly menacing call to solidarity - an idealogical blueprint as to how the marketing and branding of the individual has resulted in increasingly negative impacts on society and humanity.

The Noise Who Runs is the brainchild of songwriter
Ian Pickering (of Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly), who also co-authored such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. Upon relocating from northern England to France, Pickering launched this project with Brazilian-French guitarist Felipe Goes.

'Preteretrospective' LP (April 2023)
https://thenoisewhoruns.bandcamp.com/album/preteretrospective

Following up their April 2023 album ‘Preteretrospective’, which blended the abrasive beauty of electric guitars and electronica, 'One Scratch Each' is a more stripped-down take on the group’s sound - almost a bare, minimalist electronic groove, Felipe Goes’ electric guitar creating a raw, atmospheric complement to the drone bass keyboards and quirky drum machine rhythm. The vocals are simple and repetitive with just four different lyrics across the song, a distinct "less is more" approach.

“I would question the obsession of brands, marketing and advertising, primarily, on pushing such a vain, shallow concept of the individual - it’s a face-value, nothing beneath the surface kind of ideal. We are all born individuals, that should never need to be overtly demonstrated and insisted upon, it’s quite obviously what we all are. It can’t be proved with trinkets and adornments. The more salient point would be how we all come together as individuals and make a difference, a change for the better for the majority. Maybe the beautiful army lies in the forests away from the trenches; deserters, conscientious objectors and those that have been driven shellshock mad by the constant, oppressive noise of manufactured, idiotic right-wing culture wars,” says Ian Pickering.

“The beautiful army would be the people who reject the pathetic culture wars of populists, who proceed with compassion and empathy rather than instantly resort to knee-jerk outrage and sincerely believe that the some kind of optimistic future can still be salvaged from the slow-motion chaos of the inevitable car crash, in which we are currently forced to be passengers.”

As always with Pickering’s lyrics, the line between optimism and cynicism seem so blurred as to entwine like strands of DNA, the seemingly ever-present sense of contradiction - a trait that runs throughout all song by The Noise Who Runs and one that makes the tracks evolve and grow of their own accord the more you listen to them.

“The phrase "one scratch each" was a line left over from
'Takes A Long Cold Look And Then The Kitchen Sink', which was on the last album. Three little words - it doesn’t really need much else added to it - so musically, it felt, for us, like free rein to do something minimalist and less traditional and repeat the same phrase. This is a call for solidarity in a world constantly being sown with division and discord," says Pickering.

"So far, the start of the 21st Century seems remarkably like repeating the mistakes of the early 20th Century. In the First World War, all that flag-waving, jingoistic sense of and pride in nationality across Europe, the othering of governments and nations all engaged in the same exploitation of other continents, resulted in the most obscene and needless carnage and it feels, today, as if nothing has changed, other than that rather than conscripting us all and sending us to France and Belgium for the slaughter, the big push would appear to be starving us to death in our own homes while we work all the hours of the day for a monthly wage that barely covers the cost of living."

The full ‘come and join the beautiful army' EP was mixed and mastered by Colin C at
The Cell Studio, whose clients include CBS, FOX, NBC / Universal, Showtime, HBO and Lionsgate Films and such artists as Front Line Assembly and Danny Saber (Black Grape, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Madonna).

As of October 10, 'One Scratch Each' will be available across fine music platforms, including
Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where this and the ‘Preteretrospective’ album can be obtained directly from the artist.

When rules break, rock ‘n’ roll moves forward. Standing at a crossroads between 21st century attitude and old school arena-size ambition, Pistols At Dawn lock and load hard-hitting hooks, magnetic melodies, and intricate instrumentation in a searing signature style. The Atlanta quartet—Adam Jaffe [drums], Will James [lead guitar], Gabriel Cuevas [bass], and Jon Sookdew Sing [lead vocals+rhythm guitar]—re-energize the genre, while maintaining its edge. After independently amassing over 6 million streams and collaborating with icons such as GRAMMY® Award-winning producer and engineer Sylvia Massy [Tool, System of a Down, Johnny Cash], the group deliver eight anthems on their 2022 full-length album, Ascension, via distributor Megaforce Records/MRI Entertainment. “All of our influences come out in the music, but with our own stamp,” says Adam. “There’s definitely a hard rock vibe combined with progressive lyrics. When you add these elements together, it beautifully combusts in Pistols At Dawn.”

Speaking to this alchemy, in 2015 the band immediately entered the studio with producer Jeff Tomei [Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20] to record their first singles before entertaining various other projects. During 2019, the original lineup joined forces again. Ultimately, original founder Jaffe completed the lineup with incendiary world class guitarist James, and elite progressive rock duo Sookdew Sing and Cuevas.

They unleashed music at a prolific pace in addition to personally engaging fans worldwide with an immersive online presence. “Cold” exploded to the tune of 1 million streams across platforms followed by "Gauntlet" and "All You Offer" with another million streams. Working with producer Jeff Tomei, they unleashed the Nocturnal Youth EP in 2021. The opener and lead single “Voices” impressively generated 1 million plays in under a month. In the midst of the Global Pandemic, they caught the attention of Massy and recorded what would become Ascension with the legendary producer behind the board alongside co-producer Chris Pierson.

Musically and thematically, it allowed a sliver of light to pass through the world’s darkness. “On Nocturnal Youth, we were going through a dark time in the Global Pandemic,” Jaffe states. “On Ascension, we’re coming into the light and embracing life. There’s still dark subject matter on the record, but it was positive to write. It melded together the way we’d always hoped.”

Anchored by a balance of extremes, the lead single “The Truth” nods to nineties alternative with a distinct and dynamic twist. Adam goes on, “It revolves around the constant noise we have in our head pushing and pulling our emotions so much that we sometimes lose total control and explode. We have to be careful to maintain our thoughts and emotions, or ‘The Truth’ is that they could tear us apart.”

Elsewhere, the opener and follow-up single “Under The Surface” immediately sets the tone with a hypnotic riff and hard-hitting vocal, barely containing its cathartic momentum in the searing lyrics, “Take what you want and leave me for dead. All that I need is under the surface.”

“This song deals with the hell some have to go through above ground with people constantly taking, lying, and poisoning,” he reveals. “So, you want to be buried deep to get away from society where no one will find you.”

“Fly” leans into a dark chorus and instantly memorable hook, equally soaring and shuddering all at once. It strikes a chord with its timeless theme presented through a nocturnal prism. “It’s a powerful and dark love song about wanting to disappear with your true love,” he elaborates. “Musically, diversity was important to us. So, each song really tells a different story with a distinct sound.”

Indicative of this diversity, “For You” steamrolls forward on a hulking groove fortified by a punchy riff and towering refrain. It sets the tone for the rollercoaster to follow. “It’s about finding someone really special who is worth changing for,” notes Adam. “If you find someone you love enough, you’ll change. It’s the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Ultimately, Pistols At Dawn ignite a fresh and fiery vision for rock all their own.
“We want to take you on a ride,” Jaffe leaves off. “We just love playing music. One moment, we hope you’re inspired to take on the world. In the next, we hope you scream along. In another, you just chill. It’s meant to be fun and exciting overall. At the end, we hope you want to take the ride again and again.”

FUMING MOUTH DEBUT NEW SINGLE, 'I'LL FIND YOU'

With less than a month to go before the release of their long-awaited new album, Last Day of Sun, New England death dealers FUMING MOUTH have unveiled the record’s 2nd single, ‘I’ll Find You’! The brutal, endearing new love song follows the previously released single ‘The Silence Beyond Life,’ also featured on the upcoming album due out November 3rd from Nuclear Blast.

Commenting on ‘I’ll Find You,’ vocalist/guitarist Mark Whelan says:

“This is our first love song. It's about overcoming all the obstacles between you and the person you love. No matter how tired you are. No matter how lost they get. Find them."

Stream ‘I’ll Find You’: https://fumingmouth.bfan.link/ifnu.ema

‘I’ll Find You’ follows a theme of deep personal matters on Last Day of Sun, as Whelan draws from his own recent experience overcoming leukemia last year and the new found perspective he gained along the way. Now cancer free, the beloved frontman returns rejuvenated with renewed determination and inspiration on the band’s most crucial and ferocious record yet.

Whelan says of the new record:

“What started as a fictional concept album became incredibly real. I was facing certain death, but as I kept writing the album it’s theme became clear. You could die tomorrow. Seize the day.”

‘I’ll Find You’ Music Video below

About FUMING MOUTH:

A fiery, resurrected rage barrels its way out of hell’s erupting chasms with blistering fury; Fuming Mouth has returned. Lead singer, guitarist, and founder Mark Whelan emerges triumphant after a life-threatening battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, rekindling the inferno of their music with Fuming Mouth's second full-length album, Last Day of Sun.

What initially began as a full-on, fictional concept album underwent a profound transformation into a concept-reality hybrid, largely influenced by Whelan's harrowing conflict with his health and anear brush with death. Just three weeks away from recording the album, Whelan was struck with a devastating cancer diagnosis. While bravely fighting the illness, he rewrote melodies, drum sections, and lyrics, infusing the music with his personal journey of struggle and hope.

The recording sessions began in October 2022, with Grammy Award winning Kurt Ballou of Converge at his studio, God City, in Salem, Massachusetts. Ballou reached out to Whelan after his battle with cancer and encouraged him to get back to their previously scheduled recording session. Working closely with Ballou in both engineering and production, the band found a wonderful and collaborative experience, as Ballou invested himself wholeheartedly in shaping their sound and vision. Salem itself also helped shape the album, as the Halloween Season had begun. Droves of tourists and residents mixing with people in costume made the streets of Salem seem like Last Day of Sun had come to life. The city where the Witch Trials took place presented the perfect setting for the album to be recorded.

At the genesis of this record, there was no other artist that could have captured the album's essence better than Mariusz Lewandowski, with whom the band had already established a creative relationship through his work on the cover art of The Grand Descent. Tragically, Mariusz passed away while working on the album artwork, presenting the band with an immense obstacle to overcome. In tribute to his spirit and legacy, they joined forces with the talented artist Stefan Todorovic who crafted an evocative album cover depicting a Faustian city crumbling amidst the gray and sandy storms of the apocalypse. A colossal monster blocks the sun and hovers above the city as it burns, smoky buildings topple to the ground; all a visual representation of the chaos and darkness that permeates the album.

Fuming Mouth stands resilient, a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Amidst the carnage and depression lies a flicker of hope - a beacon of light that emanates from within. But as the last rays of the sun cast their shadow, the question remains. Will the people in Last Day of Sun survive? Will their worst inhibitions play out, will they rip each other to shreds, will they give up? Will everything they’ve built have been for not? Will they find a way to overcome, or will their panic lead to failure?

We are incredibly proud of ‘Kairos’ and the reception already received for what is out there, we truly feel this album represents us better than any record previous and as a line up we’ve never been more capable than to push our musical boundaries. This is our strongest record to date, forged from the strongest of unity in our endeavours. We can’t wait for it to be out there."

Prior to today, Osiah released "Kardashev Denied" and the accompanying music video, as well as their 'Chronos' EP earlier this year which can also be found on the physical formats of the upcoming full-length. Pre-save 'Kairos' here, and watch the lyric video for "A Great Nothing" below.

Hailing from the extreme music melting pot that is the northeast of England, Osiah transcends the deathcore label with what could possibly be the most torturous barrage of filth the UK has produced in recent years. Crushingly intense breakdowns and deathly chops tread a familiar path, but jarringly detuned guitars, unpredictable tempo changes and vocals that range from wide-ranging pitched screams to commanding guttural bowel openers add an extra evil to the sound that cannot be put into words.

After releasing their first EP 'Reborn Through Hate' in 2015, Osiah released their first full-length album ‘Terror Firma’ in June 2016 via Siege Music. The album gained praise from Metal Hammer Magazine, Bloody Disgusting, and many other prestigious publications, cementing the band as the hottest and heaviest band on the UK deathcore scene.

The resulting work lead to the band signing to Unique Leader Records in 2018 and releasing their sophomore album 'Kingdom of Lies' in 2019. In 2021, Osiah released their third album 'Loss' and unleashed their latest EP 'Chronos' in early 2023.

Jenna Paulette’s “You Ain’t No Cowboy” Encourages Mental Health Conversations Among Ag Workers on World Mental Health Day

JENNA PAULETTE’S “YOU AIN’T NO COWBOY”
SHEDS LIGHT ON SOBERING REALITY OF ADDICTION
& SUICIDE AMONG AGRICULTURE WORKERS
ON WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

Watch the Powerful Music Video, in Partnership with the
Texas Department of Agriculture.

Jenna Paulette has experienced firsthand the ebbs and flows of being a rancher alongside her family, working cattle on their ranch in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It’s where she learned the value of living off the land, along with the stressors that coincide with a livelihood that depends on factors outside of your control – weather, market prices, tariffs and more – and which often lead to increased rates of depression, addiction and suicide among ag workers.

Challenging the traditional notion of how people view cowboys and the stigma that prevents many from speaking about their reality, Paulette debuts her official music video for “
You Ain’t No Cowboy” in partnership with the Texas Department of Agriculture today to coincide with World Mental Health Day. Watch HERE.

Directed by Quinton Cook, the video spans nearly five minutes with the intention of encouraging mental health conversations among ag workers and providing resources for them to seek help by directing people to the
988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline. Opening with the sobering fact from the National Rural Health Association that the suicide rate among the agriculture community is 3.5 times higher than the national average, the video explores the spiral of a difficult season and a cowboy who relies on alcohol and drugs to cope.

For Paulette, it’s an important message that she hopes will help to change the perception of a cowboy. To her, a cowboy isn’t defined by the job, but is someone with the character to overcome any obstacle thrown their way. Expanding on the concept, she shares, “Whether you struggle with addiction, a cycle of harmful thoughts, suicide, depression, financial disaster, the list is long… Sometimes putting a stake in the ground is making a phone call to a helpline; sometimes it’s taking a hard look in the mirror at who you are and deciding that’s not who you want to be.

“The power to change and have a full life is there for the taking, you’re just a decision away from a redeemed life. This video is a call to action for those suffering and the end is a glimpse of hope into the life of a real man who is on the other side of adversity.”

As the story progresses, it ends on a hopeful note, inspired by the men in Paulette’s life who have weathered the storm, found help and came out stronger because of it – including her cowboy, Ross.

“The cowboys in my world, including Ross, the love of my life, have overcome one or many of those challenges… Ross is five years sober; he plays the cowboy in the video. I knew him after he quit using and drinking. He made a conscious decision to take his life back and with grace and the strength of God, good men and family around him he was able to do it,” she adds.

The moving song is one of 16 tracks off her debut album,
The Girl I Waswhich arrived in March, showcasing a level of honesty that left The Tennessean musing “gripping clarity, emotion and feeling are more readily apparent in her work than ever before,” and Billboard noting she arrives “confident” and “carefree.” Paulette made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Aug. 18 and is set to perform the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo on Dec. 13.
