Brooklyn lounge-chill artist Roman Angelos and electronic producer Scott Solter(St. Vincent, Maps & Atlases, Spoon, Superchunk, The Mountain Goats). have released their collaborative record 'Supermarkets, Underwater' via London label Happy Robots Records.

The new album is a fully reimagined set of remixes of Roman Angelos' 2022 album 'Music For Underwater Supermarkets', a 9-track offering that combines electronica and exotica, painting a sonic dreamscape that transposes the mundane act of grocery shopping to an aquatic utopian landscaping.

Here, Solter flips the script by transforming the bouncy and upbeat material of the original album into a darker and more ambient landscape. Weaving in noise and shifting electronic percussion, it’s an entirely new record. Listeners dive deeper into unknown waters, no longer shopping alongside the friendly fish.

Exploring Roman's obsession with the library and soundtrack music, with unfashionable sonic influences from Burt Bacharach to Vangelis, this record was brilliantly received with Electronic Sound Magazine describing it as “an album of splendid vibes”.

Roman Angelos is the nom de plume of Brooklyn-based producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Rich Bennett, developed as a vehicle to explore his obsession with library recordings of the 60's and 70s, muzak and exotica. Exotic, dreamy, and wistful, this is the sound of a jazz sextet as channeled through synths and drum machines, creating a spacey feel.

Lead track 'Swimming Through The Aisles (Teeming Mix)', along with a special live performance version of the remix. It uses the same irregular time signature and feel of the original, but adds in tremolo vibraphones, reverse guitars, and electronic drums, giving the music a new feel of exploration.

The original recordings were produced by Rich Bennett at Acme Hall Studios in Brooklyn and were recorded live to tape, all together in one room, by Colin Marston (Jarboe, Sailors With Wax Wings).

Beyond the world of library electronica, Rich Bennett has been involved in a diverse group of musical projects, including the newly reunited outsider / 60s proto-punk group The Shaggs, dream pop outfit Mahogany, and Brazilian funk group Limoncello, in addition to production work with Stereolab's Morgane Lhote (aka Hologram Teen).

Roman’s previous releases for Happy Robots have gained praise from Electronic Sound Magazine, Hi-Fi World, Shindig! Magazine, The Electricity Club, Freq and The Haunted Generation, as well as BBC6 Music radio play from Gideon Coe, Cerys Matthews and Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone, plus Bob Fisher (BBC Tees).

'Supermarkets, Underwater' is out now, available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. Released by Happy Robots Records with distribution by Cargo Records, the CD version will be available exclusively via the label's Bandcamp.

This has resulted in people seeing him as a brutal conqueror instead and now, he finds himself on the wrong side. His life and the lives of many are deceived and destroyed."

LUCIFER Release Video For New Single "A Coffin Has No Silver Lining (The Sistine Version)"

Stockholm based heavy rock megalith LUCIFER have released a promo video for their new single, 'A Coffin Has No Silver Lining (The Sistine Version)', which is out today via NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS.

This first single under the roof of their new label sees LUCIFER playing all their strengths: a stunner of a tune reminiscent of mid to late seventies hard rock with an irresitably catchy chorus that is going to live rent free in your head from now on. The song arrives just in time for LUCIFER's upcoming European shows with GHOST (please scroll down for all upcoming LUCIFER live dates).

The promo video directed by Emil Klinta features a few snippets from the recording session and some neat super 8 footage of foggy trainyards with vintage railway waggons and locomotives as well as the band trying their luck at a selection of classic pinball machines, including - of course - a KISS one.

Hollywood Vampires Share "Manic Depression (Live In Rio)" Video

The Hollywood Vampires, the rock supergroup consisting of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen, have released a blistering live version of the Jimi Hendrix classic "Manic Depression," recorded during their show at "Rock in Rio" 2015 in front of 100,000 fans. The track features Depp's energetic guitar work, Cooper's distinctive voice, Perry's inimitable solos, and is backed by the thunderous rhythm guitar of Tommy Henriksen.

"Manic Depression" was originally released on Hendrix's 1967 debut album Are You Experienced and has become a staple in the rock music canon. The Hollywood Vampires' live version brings a new energy to the song with its explosive instrumentation and electrifying solos that capture the frenzied spirit of Hendrix's original. It's a song that never fails to captivate audiences and transport them back to the magic of the '60s. The live version of "Manic Depression" is available on all major streaming platforms. The Hollywood Vampires are on tour and will be performing throughout Europe throughout the summer.

In 2015, the Hollywood Vampires not only released their first album, but also played one of their biggest concerts, which will now be released as their first live album. Aurora Dream Releases Single "Parallel 8its" to all major platforms!

Aurora Dream, the Miami-based instrumental progressive rock and math rock project, has recently released a new single titled "Parallel 8its". This track is a remix version of their very first single "Parallel Colors (2016 Version)", but this time, it has been rearranged in 8-bit music by the well-known YouTuber and 8-bit/video game music enthusiast, Kevin Weaver.

The idea for this unique collaboration came about when Aurora Dream's founder and Venezuelan guitarist, Daniel Morales, stumbled upon Kevin's YouTube channel (KB3K) and became captivated by his 8-bit remixes of similar artists. After striking up a conversation over email, they began to discuss their shared music interests, bouncing ideas back and forth, which ultimately led to this exciting collaboration.

While "Parallel Colors" has been revisited many times in the past due to its significant meaning and fan love, this remix gives it an entirely new twist and an even more unique and flavorful sound. The track has now become an extraordinary listening experience that is not only ideal for Aurora Dream's current fans and math rock/prog/instrumental guitar enthusiasts, but also for those who enjoy 8-bits music, particularly those who are nostalgic about old video game music from the Nintendo DS era.

Daniel Morales provided Kevin with music stems that were instrumental in creating the 8-bit remix, and he also co-produced the track by contributing newer ideas that expanded the song's depth and melodic elements. Kevin, on the other hand, produced and mixed the single, while Moises D' Bellohandled the mastering.

Kevin Weaver is a talented YouTuber and 8-bit video game music enthusiast, whose remixes have gained a large following worldwide. This collaboration with Daniel Morales has taken the song "Parallel Colors (Versión 2016)" to a completely new level, adding his distinctive style and creativity to the Aurora Dream universe. His meticulous work and ability to produce, compose and mix 8-bit music have been an integral part of the creation of this exciting remix.

According to Daniel, "I've always been a hardcore Pokemon fan since the very old days, not only because of the story itself, but also because of the music (Gen 4 is my favorite). I just find it very pure, unique, and full of joy and emotion, which I believe are key components when I write my own music. This single serves as a reference to the music and games I enjoyed when I was a kid and still enjoy these days, despite all the time that has passed."

The "Parallel 8its" single is a testament to Aurora Dream's commitment to experimenting with their sound and pushing boundaries, and this collaboration with Kevin Weaver promises to be the first of many exciting releases. “Every song about hometowns usually goes one of two ways, you either love it and it’s perfect or you hate it, and we could never relate to either of those exact feelings,” Kendra explains, “so we wanted to write a song that hints at both. It’s the emotion of when you are in a place for so long, wanting to leave and try something new, but when you’re gone, there’s nothing that can replace that feeling of home.”

On May 11, the girls from North Dakota took their biggest stage yet, performing on the official ACM Awards Red Carpet show, which aired on Prime Video leading up to the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. Tony West was raised in the Bronx on Ramones, Bad Brains, and NYHC. Hearing the call of the wild west, Tony made his way to Los Angeles at 19 years old. Tony took a break from L.A. to try out Memphis in 1998. While he was there, he attended the first Saliva gig with Paul Crosby on drums. This historic event marked the beginning of a lifelong friendship between Paul and Tony, ultimately leading to a management collaboration and Paul joining Blacklist Union. In addition, Tony recorded with Saliva and Jon E. Love (Love/Hate) in 2014.

Tony decided to go in his own direction in 2006. With a shamanistic blend of Stone Temple Pilots, G N’ R, Malfunkshun, and Mother Love Bone... Blacklist Union was born.

Sinister Whisperz IV: The Bedroom Tapes (1987-1988) is the fourth release in the artist’s retrospective series focusing on the pre-band days, when the duo were just beginning to collaborate. It’s a collection of rare, live recordings, made in a small Chicago bedroom during the winter of 1987-88. The 13 songs, jams and grooves highlight TKK’s industrial origins, featuring heavily distorted vocals, jack hammer percussion sounds, and a good ol’ dose of Satanic adoration.

Buzz McCoy explains “These tapes were working ideas... our first few jams together. We hadn’t really begun writing songs yet. Many times Groovie had no lyrics and would make them up as he went. We had no multi track recorder. Everything was mixed “on the fly” to a cassette deck with a 12-channel mixing board, while I attempted to play samples, keyboards and occasionally bass at the same time. Many of the tracks aren’t mixed at all. They were spontaneous live recordings for reference, but looking back, they don’t sound half as bad as I thought. And they really do capture that manic, youthful angst swirling around in us at the time.”

Artist Franke Nardiello and musician Marston Daley, two Chicago neighbors who enjoyed late night binges watching trashy exploitation films and horror flicks, wanted to make their own movie to be called “My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. While the project never came to fruition, they wrote some music to be the accompanying soundtrack. Both worked at the Wax Trax record store, and when label founders Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher heard the songs, they were intrigued. Using the film title as the name of the band, they released a 3-song EP in early 1988. The response was overwhelming, and it was clear fans wanted to hear more.

Taking the stage names Groovie Mann (Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Daley), the duo began to focus on music full time. They created an occult meets leather biker image to compliment the band’s name which included enlisting a bevy of voluptuous back-up singers / dancers known as the BOMB GANG GIRLZ. In June of ’88, they flew to label mate Luc Van Acker’s studio in Belgium to record their first album, I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits. It was recorded in just ten days, and mixed in another ten days at Southern Studiosin London. The fans ate it up! They followed up with two hard-hitting dance floor 12” tracks - Kooler Than Jesus (1989) and Cuz It’s Hot (1990), which features no-wave chanteuse Lydia Lunch on vocals. The New York Times wrote, “Sex, blasphemy, big beats and go-go dancing; they’re all in a day’s work for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. This attracted the attention of indie fans, as well as the ire of the PMRC and conservative religious groups in practically equal measure. By the time of their sophomore release, Confessions Of A Knife (1990), they were far and away one of the biggest selling acts on the label.

1991 saw the release of their third album, Sexplosion!, a calculated sonic and visual departure from their previous work. 1950’s pin-up models replaced the demonic imagery, while sleazy stripper horns, disco beats and house diva vocals (provided by artist Shawn Christopher) took prominence over the more abrasive musical elaments.They put together a provocative stage show, complete with spinning police lights, mirror balls and a stocked bar with bartender to serve the scantily clad musicians and dancers while they performed. Alternative Press reviewed the show as “Sin-sational!”, while Melody Maker described it as “A Cabaret from Hell”. It was a huge success, and the album sold so well (fueled by the phenomenal radio hit “Sex On Wheelz”) that the group signed a deal with Interscope Records shortly afterwards and released two more albums - 13 Above the Night (1993), and Hit & Run Holiday (1995).

Hollywood also embraced the KULT, recognizing the unique cinematic aspect in their sound. Most notably, the band scored five songs for animator Ralph Bakshi’s Cool World (1992) and wrote the lap dance song for director Paul Verhoven's saucy Showgirls (1993). Comedies BASEketball and The Flintstones Movie prominently feature songs from the Hit & Run Holidayalbum. They have been roasted by MTV’s Beavis & Butthead, and were written into the story line of the film Sexy Evil Genius which also features the song "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan”. Most recently the club hit “Kooler Than Jesus” can be heard blasting in Season 3 of the Netflix series Narcos.

The band moved to Rykodisc in 1997 and re-released their entire remastered / repackaged catalog, along with five more studio albums, including an homage to 70’s disco era called Gay Black & Married, and the sultry and decadent Filthiest Show In Town (2007). They also formed their own label, SleazeBox Records, in 2001, enabling the release of a growing number of side-projects in addition to new TKK material.

Today SLEAZEBOX.com boasts the complete THRILL KILL KULT catalog, in addition to related works such as Mann’s DARLING KANDIE, and McCoy’s self titled projects. They continue to work with Wax Trax! Records for the purpose of re-issuing special limited edition vinyl. Buzz and Groovie still record and perform live along with veteran band mates Mimi Star (bass) and Justin Thyme (drums), all the while making a reputation for themselves as one of the most notorious and controversial cult bands of their generation.

CAVO released their cover of New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle" to all major platforms via TLG/INgrooves.

"New Order have been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid so when we started talking about songs from the 80s to put our own spin on, I immediately started thinking about one of their songs. 'Bizarre Love Triangle' is obviously a classic song, but to me it’s always represented the writing and live peak of that band, so it felt like one that would be really fun to put the CAVO spin on.
I’ve always felt our band had a similar group effort vibe like New Order with the way each instrument shines in our songs. Whether it’s Brian’s upfront and unique bass lines, Chris’ creative and out of left field guitar parts, or Casey’s unique voice and crafty lyrics, they all come together to make something special and all it’s own. A group effort if you will. 4 people who come together musically and it creates this sound. That’s what I always loved about New Order growing up, and it’s always been something I love about our band as well," says Andy Herrin.

The creative force of Rock/Alternative from St. Louis is still creating and releasing new music. Humble beginnings to major label success to where they are now seems like a whirlwind but a lot of bands find themselves in these spaces. Bassist Brian Smith says “We are still a band releasing music we want to release and we hope people dig what we are doing”. Drummer Andy Herrin adds, “Every EP or record we do won’t be like one previously released and we have a lot of music to share and create." “The great thing about the four of us in Cavo is that we’ve always been fully committed to this band,” explains bassist Brian Smith. “Even if we haven’t been in a spotlight for a bit and we have other projects going on, our bond is as tight as ever, and we’ve never stopped releasing music. We love writing together, playing together and just being together as friends, and that’s why we’ve been able to keep going together as long as we have.”

Cavo has teamed up with independent distributor TLG/INgrooves to expose all of these new crafted songs to a broader global audience. The band has released several songs from the first of 6 planned EPs. Three original and three cover EPs. The first original EP is titled The Shakes with songs “Not Over You”, "Dizzy" and the self-titled track “The Shakes” currently released and “Synchronicity II” and “Drive” from the bands CAVO Cover vol.1 EP also released. Casey adds “We are almost finished with our second original EP and after that we start work on the second covers EP.” “It’s just a really cool creative thing we have here and we are really excited to share what we are doing with everyone,” adds Chris.

It's safe to say the CAVO boys are simply writing and recording new material and plan to release tons of new music in 2023 and for unforeseeable future!

The Intemperate Sons Release Official Music Video for Single "Game of Keep Away"

Indie rock band The Intemperate Sons released the official music video for the title track from their highly anticipated new album Game of Keep Away that will be released to all major platforms via FRAME|WORK in the fall of 2023. The band is in the early stages of planning a fall run of shows on the west coast.

The boys in The Intemperate Sons traveled to CA to record this track at MAPS Studio at the direction of Amir Derakh (Julien-K, Orgy, Dead by Sunrise) and Ryan Shuck (Julien-K, Adema, Orgy, Dead by Sunrise). This is the first time, and definitely not the last, having Amir and Ryan at the producer helm and was an amazing collaborative experience. Amir joined Jake and Max on guitar to contribute to the track as well.

The Intemperate Sons' video supporting the release was shot by Ryan Whiteheadfrom Ardent Owl Media and edited by Brandon Smith from The Anix.

“Game of Keep Away” is the story of the struggle to dig out of hole created by one’s own destructive behavior. The Intemperate Sons release all their music through the Frame|Work record label at the direction of Amir Derakh, Ryan Shuck, and Denny Sanders at The Label Group.

The Intemperate Sons emerged onto the rock scene in the summer of 2019 in Dallas, TX, to bring their distinct sound to the genre. A deep love for music brought family members Keith Watson (drums), Jake Watson (guitars) and Max Watson (vocals, guitars, keys) together along with close friend Mark Marks, who provides the groove on bass to unite everything together.

Keith is well acquainted with entertaining massive crowds of concert goers and has played with many successful bands in Dallas, such as Gun Hill, Natural Born Thrillers and Agents of Solace, on top of opening for Lynch Mob, Joe Lynn Turnerand Sponge. He is the primary lyricist for the band and has written the music for some of their most successful songs, including “Dust to Dust,” “The Color Within,”and “Unrealized.”

Multi-talented and gifted with the ability to play various instruments, Max is also the lead vocalist of the group. Along with being musically dexterous, he has also collaborated with Keith to write lyrics on the released songs “Going Crazy” and “Way Back When.” In the studio, Max usually surmounts expectations and goes above and beyond to prepare prior to a session with his own vocal harmonies.

Jake is the song architect of the Sons and extremely instrumental in the crafting of the music. His inventive ways of bringing lyrics to life in clever ways are unprecedented and fascinating to see in the studio setting. He is a prolific writer of music as well and is credited with helping create the songs “What’s Done is Done,” “Remission,” “Way Back When” and “Wading in the Gray.” Both Max and he play lead guitar on many of the songs as well. The other members of the band fondly refer to him as the “art director” since he enjoys taking charge in those areas for the group.

Prolific and unifying, Mark is an accomplished bass player and well known in Dallas. He was in the regionally successful band, Haggard, and had opened for Sebastian Bach of Skid Row. His input in song writing has been invaluable to the process of creating captivating melodies.

Despite the pandemic putting a pause on many major events, The Intemperate Sons lived up to their name and let nothing hold them back from making music. Constantly hard at work in the studio, they have collaborated with Amir Derakh (Julien-K, Dead by Sunrise, Orgy, Rough Cutt) and Ryan Shuck (Julien-K, Adema, Dead by Sunrise, Orgy). Both have lent their musical talents to various songs and ultimately have brought the Sons on to their label, Frame|Work. This led the band to also recently join the management roster at The Label Group. Ryan worked with Amir to produce the band’s upcoming track, “Game of Keep Away,” and has had a huge impact on the group. He’s been especially influential on Max’s vocal melodies and delivery. Amir also plays guitar on this latest ballad and has been mixing all of the band’s music as well as performing on multiple songs.

Another notable collaboration has been with Tony Franklin (The Firm, Roy Harper, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Whitesnake), primarily on the first album, The Color Within. He has been a valuable friend of the band and has played bass on some of their best tracks from that album, including “Running Man,” “Dust to Dust” and “The Color Within.”

The Intemperate Sons’ take on alternative rock is a dark and powerful concoction of hard rock mixed with folk and grunge concepts. The band has earned a serious reputation for writing and performing tracks that scratch deep into the backbone of the human experience. There is no shortage of darkness in their writing style, which has a retro vibe with many guitar-driven tracks stacked on top of a groovy rhythm section. The heavier style fits perfectly with the two and three-part vocal harmonies that are a huge part of their overall sound. It has been said that musicians that are related form unique sounds and communicate at a frequency only they can understand. This frequency has become engrained in their songwriting, arrangements, guitar melodies and vocal harmonies. The band has been compared to Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and even R.E.M.

After a successful show at The Viper Room in Hollywood, CA, the band plans to do some regional shows in Texas and then head out West this year as well.

LYDIA CAN'T BREATHE Release New Single "Please Be Over" + Official Music Video

Lydia Can't Breathe's “Please Be Over” was recorded and produced by Andrew Wade and Andy Karpovck at The Audio Compound in Orlando,FL. They are the same producers that worked with Motionless in White, Attila, and A Day To Remember.

Lead singer, Kyle Bolduc recalls, “We wrote the song last minute in the studio. It was the last song we tracked during these sessions. I received a call, so we took a short break from tracking. My friend called me hysterically saying that his longtime girlfriend had broken up with him and that he wanted to kill himself. After about 30 minutes of talking him down, I returned to the session.”

Kyle said he had an idea for the last song. He presented a song basically about the breakup of a couple that has committed unforgivable actions and still love each other but cant stay together.

"We hashed it out and tracked a rough idea then laid down the final version the next day! The band thought this was one of the better songs of the batch and decided to do a music video for it. We teamed up with Marlin Sorrentino and Kal Visuals to create this epic visual for fans. We actually blow up a car during one scenes in the video. The fire from the blaze was as tall as a 2 story house! It's the craziest thing that the Lydia Can't Breathe team has achieved in a video shoot... so far."

Cody Hibbard Releases Small Town Anthem, "We Speak Country"

Recently signed to a co-publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing Nashville and Droptine Music, Cody Hibbard’s blue collar raising and ability to relate to the everyman seeps through each new release. With his latest, “We Speak Country,” timed to Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May, Hibbard continues to celebrate his Asian Pacific American heritage and unique path in country music.
