New Music Out Now from Ring of Gyges

New Album, 'Metamorphosis',

Out May 19th | Pre-Order HERE

Icelandic RING OF GYGES presents the first single and video, "Parasite", from their forthcoming album 'Metamorphosis', which will be released via ViciSolum Productions on May 19th. The album is an amazingly vivid and beautifully thought-provoking piece of art, which will thrill fans of bands like Leprous, Port Noir and Haken.

RING OF GYGES about the video:

"We spent a very cold couple of days out in the breathtaking landscapes and adorable little villages of South-Western Iceland with our fantastic director Gaui and a fantastic cast of actors, creating the video for our latest single 'Parasite'. Fun fact: one of the scenes is filmed inside the home of the local sheriff in Guðjón's hometown. We hope you enjoy it at least half as much as we enjoyed making it, although Gísli has insisted on a warmer location for the next shoot".

Share New Single "Umeå Hardcore"

New Album 'Välkommen till underjorden'

Available Now! | Order HERE

“Umeå Hardcore” is the first single from GATUPLAN's new album 'Välkommen till underjorden' (Welcome To The Underground). The track is about the music scene of the Swedish city Umeå, and how music has the power to change your life in a better way.

The force behind GATUPLAN comes from Inge Johansson the Swedish bassist known from bands like The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Against Me!, Cryssis and CSS.

With no intention to reinvent the wheel, GATUPLAN echos the music that inspired them from the get go. You can hear the influences of the pop sensibilities of the mighty Ramones, the groove of Rancid and The Specials, and the edgy attitude of Ebba Grön, The Clash or Public Enemy.

But, GATUPLAN have no ambition to become a retro concept act – they strive to make music for the here and now, and for the future to come.

This is positive music in a negative time, and a soundtrack to a dream of a better future.

The video for the new track is directed/filmed by Emil Klinta, well known for his work with The Hellacopters & Ghost, among others.

RedHook Join Forces With Yours Truly On Astronomical Break-Up Anthem 'Imposter'

Two of the most prominent women in the Australian heavy music scene, RedHook's Emmy Mack and Yours Truly's Mikaila Delgado, join forces on 'Imposter' – the flagship single from alt-rock shapeshifters RedHook’s forthcoming debut album 'Postcard From A Living Hell', which is slated for release on Friday, April 21 and available for pre-order here. Watch the new video for 'Imposter' below.

Produced by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly) and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore), 'Imposter' is a dark, empowering break-up anthem driven by alien synths, heavy guitars, and striking lyrics. Packed with memorable one-liners such as "Never believed in lizard people / Til I discovered your scales", "Hearts change like the weather / And now it's raining on you", and "We used to freak / But now you freak me out", 'Imposter' uses the sci-fi trope of body snatching as a metaphor to articulate a traumatic experience that both Emmy and Mikaila share; watching someone you love change into a completely different person, before a heartbreaking trail of their past lies and deceptions starts to unravel before your eyes.

Emmy explains the inspiration behind the track:

"There's no head-fuck quite like discovering that the person you love most, and who you think you know better than anyone else, has been lying to you and manipulating you the entire time. At first, it feels like death, you grieve for the person you loved as if they've died, and yet somehow they still exist. It's almost as if some kind of evil, alien life force has taken up residence inside their body and is walking around wearing their skin. Eventually, it causes you to question your own sanity; you question whether that person who meant so much to you ever really existed at all."

On the topic of tapping Yours Truly for the collab, she adds:

"This song was already so special to me and one of my absolute favourites off the record. We approached Mikaila to be involved because we love Yours Truly so much and thought her voice would sound amazing on the track. But what I didn’t realise was that she'd actually been going through an eerily similar situation to mine in her own personal life. We trauma-bonded a lot during the process of putting 'Imposter' together and the extra vocal parts and lyrics that Mikaila added still give me goosebumps every time! She took this song to a whole new dimension and I'm so grateful to her for it. This is our joint break-up anthem and we hope it empowers other people who've been through similar nightmarish bullshit to stay strong."

The song also comes packing a quirky, science fiction-inspired music video directed by Colin Jeffs of Ten of Swords Media (Make Them Suffer, Alpha Wolf), which takes its cues from cult sci-fi flicks like 'Species' and 'Jennifer's Body', as both women slowly morph into deranged lizard monsters with a taste for human flesh.

'Imposter' follows on from 'Off With Your Head', 'Soju' feat. Sly Withers, 'SAY' and 'Jabberwocky', which will all feature on the forthcoming 'Postcard From A Living Hell' LP, available for pre-order here.

ABOUT REDHOOK

RedHook are a fiercely independent, shapeshifting alt-rock foursome from Sydney, Australia who’ve quickly accumulated a global fanbase and tens of millions of streams through their powerful songwriting and captivating live show.

Featuring the core creative duo of Emmy Mack and Craig Wilkinson, two strangers from regional New South Wales whose paths collided after moving to Sydney in 2017, RedHook combine with young gun drummer Alex Powys and seasoned bassist Ned Jankovic to create heartfelt, attitude-filled and relatable alternative rock music that consistently defies classification.

The strength of their debut single ‘Minute On Fire’ in 2018 was enough to attract the interest of one of the lead promoters of the UK’s iconic Download Festival, who swiftly invited RedHook over to play. The band were then snapped up by The Hen House Artist Management (worldwide) and inked booking deals with New World Artists (AUS) and Wasserman (UK/EU), going on to conquer some of Australia’s biggest music festival stages (Download, Good Things, Stonefest, BIGSOUND). They also completed their debut international tour (supporting metal titans Three Days Grace across the UK & Europe), launched their own gender diversity-inspired alternative festival in Sydney, 'UsFest', and undertook four complete Australian tours (selling outthe Melbourne and Sydney legs of their own debut headline tour).

As RedHook’s global fan base grew steadily with each single release and live show, many big things followed. The band were named triple j Unearthed feature artist, Kerrang! Radio feature artist and were invited to host the ABC’s iconic rage program. They’ve consistently featured as one of the top 50 most-played artists on triple j Unearthed every year since 2019.

2021 saw RedHook release their long-awaited debut EP ‘Bad Decisions’ which has ticked over 13 million Spotify streamsand had its two lead singles added to rotation on triple j. The record earned praise from Kerrang! (UK), Rock Sound (UK), Rolling Stone (AUS) and many more, even scooping a 2022 AIR Independent Music Awards nomination for best punk EP or album.

RedHook continued their steady rise across 2022 with their debut performances at Australia’s UNIFY Gathering, Groovin’ The Moo and boutique festival Rolling Sets, as well as playing one of the world’s most iconic rock festivals Rock AM Ring/Rock im Park in Germany alongside the likes of Green Day and Muse, accompanied by a second tour of Europe supporting The Faim.

Their own headline ‘Bring Ya Mates’ tour was also a huge success with multiple sold out shows around Australia as it emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by a mammoth 28-date, two-month-long regional Australian tour as main support for metalcore titans In Hearts Wake and a triumphant return the Good Things festival stage alongside Bring Me The Horizon and Deftones, where RedHook made history as the first band to grace the lineup twice.

In May 2022, RedHook returned with ‘Jabberwocky’ their most gut-wrenching single to date, which was immediately added to triple j high rotation and added to the cover of Spotify’s popular ‘All New Rock’ Playlist. Follow-up singles ‘SAY’ and ‘Soju’ Ft. Sly Withers have both since been added to full rotation on triple j.

These singles will feature on RedHook’s long-anticipated debut album, Postcard From A Living Hell, which is due to arrive on April 21st, 2023. The band will support the release with a monster Australian tour joining international grunge icons The Smashing Pumpkins at the debut of their travelling The World Is A Vampire Festival throughout April, before embarking on their own 11-date Australian headline tour in May.

MELVINATOR (Eric Melvin of NOFX) Announces Debut Album; Drops New Single "Regaining Unconsciousness"

Melvinator, the new punk-meets-EDM project from Eric Melvin - founding member and guitarist of legendary punk rock outfit, NOFX - has today announced the release of his debut album 'The Rise Of The Melvinator' set for release on May 12th, 2023 via Bottles To The Ground. Pre-orders for the new album are available now HERE.

Today's announcement is punctuated by the release of new single "Regaining Unconsciousness" and its accompanying new music video. Listen to the track on your platform of choice HERE and watch the video below.

Speaking on the news of his debut album and the release of "Regaining Unconsciousness", Eric Melvin shares

“I am so thankful for the love and support for the first ever Melvinator single, 'American Errorist' from last year. This exciting journey continues with this next release, 'Regaining Unconsciousness', one of my favorite NOFX tracks. The lyrics are as relevant today as ever, and the Melvinator version was such a blast to create. I can’t wait to share it!

I am grateful for the space to explore my passions for Punk Rock & EDM and celebrate songs that NOFX fans know and love as much as I do.

Along with American Errorist, Regaining Unconsciousness will be on my debut album, 'The Rise of the Melvinator' which will be dropping soon. I’m stoked!”

With a packed schedule for 2023, Melvinator has teamed up with long-time friend, bandmate, and label boss Fat Mike as one of the first signings to his new label Bottles To The Ground. With the announcement of "Rise Of The Melvinator", he will offer fans brand new versions of NOFX staples. Produced by Fat Mike and recorded over the course of two years alongside producerBaz The Frenchman (NOFX – The Decline at Red Rocks) and Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails, the project continues Eric Melvin’s exploration of the do-it-yourself links between punk rock & EDM.

ABOUT MELVINATOR

Globally renowned guitarist, artist and founding member of punk rock heavyweights NOFX, Eric Melvin needs little introduction.

Adored by fans across the world, Eric Melvin has been at the pinnacle of his career for over 3 decades, playing to hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe each year, selling millions of albums, and sustaining a staggering 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify as part of NOFX.

Outside of his work with NOFX, fans have been eagerly watching Melvin's solo transformation into Producer /DJ for nearly 10 years; beginning with the now legendary "Mosh-Up" collection of mixes on Soundcloud which saw Melvin's entry into the world of mash-ups with short, sharp sets that seamlessly molded together punk rock, hip-hop, EDM & funk - and mixing the likes of NWA with Fugazi & The Circle Jerks!!

Harnessing the parallels between the DIY ethos and energy of punk rock & EDM - over the next few years, Melvin began refining his production skills by bending and blending genres to create a style of music that pays homage to his history whilst lighting a fuse on his future.

The sonic start to this journey came with Melvin's first commercial solo release under the moniker Melvinator, a remix of NOFX track "American Errorist". It now continues with the announcement of the debut, full-length album, The Rise Of The Melvinator.

Expect a groundswell of excitement from all corners of the globe.

This hasn’t been done before...

The Rise of the Melvinator is upon us.

"We've been so proud of and grateful for Color Decay feedback, and with that, we're releasing our first deluxe edition in 15 years. "'Reaching' is a song about unapologetic growth," says Hranica. "I feel we often hear songs of resilience and strength that don't really cover the dirty, harder times. It takes struggle and failure to better oneself, and I think that's the soul of this tune."

ABOUT TDWP:
The Devil Wears Prada have been consistently delivering since forming in 2005. Fans voted 2009's seminal With Roots Above and Branches Below one of the 5 Greatest Metalcore Albums in a Revolver poll, with the magazine christening it "a true metalcore landmark." The group has notched six consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, including Dead Throne [2011], 8:18 [2013], Space EP [2015], Transit Blues [2016], The Act [2019], and ZII EP [2021]. The latter served as a sequel to one of their most beloved projects — 2010's Zombie EP. In the wake of the EP, the group exceeded a-quarter-of-a-billion cumulative streams and views. During 2021, the musicians decamped to remote hideaways together in Wisconsin and Desert Hot Springs, California. This time around, Jon took the reins as producer, collaborating closely to assemble a rich sonic architecture for what would become Color Decay.

Imperial Tide Share "Off the Leash" Video — WATCH

L.A and Las Vegas-based hardcore outfit IMPERIAL TIDE  — Landon Hill, vocals; William Barber, guitar; Keene Dadian, guitar; Tanner Galambas, bass; and Russel Schoenbeck, drums — have shared the video for their crackling-with-intensity new single "Off the Leash."

The video is meant to grab your attention — and keep it — minus any BS or artifice.

"We wanted to make a music video that the audience could immediately identify who we were as a band," says Hill about the visual. "No glitz or glamour — just raw, black and white, and in your face. We made the point to film this video entirely by ourselves, with no filter between us and the fans."

Regarding the deeper meaning behind the song, Hill continues, "'Off the Leash' is about cutting off those around you with disingenuous motives. We build a support system through life and sometimes those we surround ourselves with don't have the drive or intentions to match. The lyric 'All Bark, No Bite' explains how some people just want to talk about what they want…but we're here to take action 'with nothing left to lose.'"

STREAM "OFF THE LEASH"

An unholy union of crunchy riffs, booming bass, and breakdowns, Imperial Tide champion an independent mindset in all aspects of their music. The group has built itself from the ground up. They screen-print their moniker on their own t-shirts, hang it on the banisters they build from scratch, and conceptualize it in visual metaphors they film themselves.

Comprised of five childhood friends with a range of experience in the music industry — musical production degrees, experience with web design and animation, hands-on merchandise production, and more — Imperial Tide have mined the depths of emotional turmoil and existential crisis in order to create music that challenges convention and alters perceptions, screaming in defiance at any and all who would try to oppose their reign. Early live appearances have included Rockville 2021 and the SO WHAT? Music Festival, as they gear up to take the US by storm in 2023.

Jeff Rouse’s THE GEMINI AFFAIR Release “We Love The Night”

What They’re Saying:
"The members of Seattle's The Gemini Affair are not only incredible musicians, but they are dear friends of mine. I've been fortunate to share the stage with Jeff Rouse & Keith Ash countless times, and I'm stoked to release a single with them!”
~ Mike McCready, Pearl Jam

“Jeff worked very hard to find his sound on this brilliant record. The confluence of his post-punk heroes 'The Cure" and ' Killing Joke', mixed with the straight-up rock n roll motherfucker that he is, makes for the really godamn epic 'Gemini.”
~ Duff McKagan, Guns N’ Roses/ Loaded

“I love the melodies and the EP’s interesting take on the concept kept me totally engaged!”
~ Josh Todd, Buckcherry

Jeff Rouse’s Dark, Post-Punk Project THE GEMINI AFFAIR drop their 3rd single, “We Love The Night” from their upcoming EP release "To…."

“We love the night was written and recorded before the world that I knew was shut down. To say that feels like old news. And to look back it feels like I was a different person. I have always been attracted to darkness of the night and had also been attracted to the darkness in people as well. There is something about feeling invisible and invincible that the darkness brings. What I now see is that living in the light doesn’t necessarily mean the darkness is who and how I have to live. Black will always be the color that I wear and that shade will always be prevalent when the songs appear. We Love The Night was born in the dark. But I think what comes through is that trying to find the light is worth the fight,” says Jeff Rouse

Described as “The Cult meet The Cure in a back alley Seattle street fight!,” The Gemini Affair have received strong praise from Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, Buckcherry’s Josh Todd and radio stations like KJR 950 AM and KISW 99.9 FM. The Gemini Affair have a new six-song EP "To…" cut, mixed and mastered for fans, and set for release from G4L Records. Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready debuted the EP’s first single, “You’re Perfect,” on his boutique vinyl record label Hockeytalkter, and on Sirius XM Radio Pearl Jam Channel. All songs and upcoming EP "To…" are being released digitally by G4L Records.

The Gemini Affair are a Seattle based band founded by Jeff Rouse. Members include:

Jeff Rouse: Vocals, Guitar (Member of Duff McKagan’s Loaded (Bass, Backup Vocals), Alien Crime Syndicate, Fozzy, Vendetta Red). He has also shared the stage with Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Corey Taylor (Slipknot/ Stone Sour), Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, QOTSA, Mad Season), Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart) and many more at major festivals and shows worldwide.
Keith Ash: Bass (Star Anna, Guessing Game)
Donn Gunn: Drums (Death Cab for Cutie, Peter Frampton, Soundgarden, King Crimson)

The opening line of Voyager’s 2023 Eurovision song "Promise" is somewhat prophetic. As vocalist Danny Estrin belts out the lyric, “Have you ever done anything like this before?” audiences across the globe will realize they haven’t. For the first time ever, a band will represent the country – and not just any band – a band with soaring melodies, masterful riffs, keytar solos, powerhouse rhythms, and enough charisma to take on the world.

Shattering expectations, their resilience and determination has finally paid off. Theirs is a story of passion, perseverance, and patience. The band has been throwing their hat in the ring for the Eurovision Song Contest since Australia announced its participation back in 2015. Eight years later, they have prospered, overcome, and are now victorious. Voyager are a band who take everything in their stride, over the years garnering a strong fanbase near and far, continuing to vie for their Eurovision dream. At last year’s Eurovision – Australia Decides, they took out second place in a nail-biting finish, leading the public vote with their song "Dreamer."

Now, Voyager are about to set sail Merseyside with their song "Promise;" an epic, progressive pop metal track that transports the listener on an emotive story of adventure and redemption. Its stunning music video was captured in the region of Western Australia’s mid-west Kalbarri that boasts the pink ethereal Hutt Lagoon, and Kalbarri National Park, where there are epic gorges and rock formations including Nature’s Window.

Blending New Romantic, ‘80s infused vocals with technical, melodic framework, groovy basslines, bombastic drums, and what is fast becoming the band’s signature instrument, the keytar, it’s sure to lift the roof off Pier Head, Liverpool. They have toured the world many times over, with an influx of fans on their latest European tour won over by their electric live performances.

Voyager will soon embark on their eighth album cycle, but before they can begin their next chapter, they must first take on the epic battle they have long been fighting for.

Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy, with their song Stefania. This year, the United Kingdom will host the competition on Ukraine’s behalf with the theme United by Music. This is the ninth time the United Kingdom will host Eurovision and the fifth time it’s hosted for other countries due to financial or capacity issues.

SBS’s exclusive coverage will once again be in the capable hands of music buff Myf Warhurst and comedian Joel Creasey. This year marks 40 years of SBS broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest to all Australians, and the eighth year Australia has participated in the event.

Bury Tomorrow Share "Begin Again" Video — WATCH

NEW ALBUM THE SEVENTH SUN OUT MARCH 31 VIA MUSIC FOR NATIONS

British metal sextet Bury Tomorrow have today released the video for "Begin Again," another taste of their forthcoming seventh album, the aptly titled The Seventh Sun, released March 31, 2023 on Music For Nations

Watch the video below

The band reprised their relationship with Modern Error’s (remixed DEATH last year) Zak Pinchin to produce a stunning visualizer.

Guitarist Kristan Dawson says the track is "representative of the change we have all faced in the past few years. It represents an element of renewal and appreciation of where we have been as a band and where we are yet to go. Musically, it serves as a contrast to the heaviness we have presented in the first three singles, but packs a punch in a more positive way."

It's never too late to be what you might have been. Sometimes you just need a push to take the plunge. Few people would be greater advocates for this truth than Bury Tomorrow.

Faced 18 months ago, following a period of external and internal strife, with the very real reality that it might be time to pack up their successes and close the book on a storied career of 15 years, with their hands forced and backs to the wall Bury Tomorrow instead picked up fate's gauntlet and set about writing the chapter they had always imagined.

The Seventh Sun stands as testament to the bonds and belief required to shape themselves a new reality, a new sound, and a new future.

Refocused yet no more restrained, the album's expanded sonic palette platforms sky-high melodies, layered with textured atmosphere, cloaking an underlying savagery.

The thematic threads weaved through The Seventh Sun are met in kind by a throughline that musically stitches together each of its 12 tracks — an idea that guitarist Kristan Dawson has sought to execute for years. "Every single song sets up the next part of the record," he reveals. "I wanted it to feel like a one long body of work." In doing so, the album takes on its own kind its own sonic story-telling. "I feel like I was musically at where Dan was at lyrically," Dawson suggests.

All of this combines, as Winter-Bates asserts, to exhibit "the best version of Bury Tomorrow people will have heard." Positivity, and possibility, now seems boundless, where not so long ago doubts persisted. "That is as much to do with Tom (Prendergast — keys/vocals) and Ed (Hartwell — guitar) joining the band as it is about the rest of us," Dawson notes. "I think we'd convinced ourselves at times that we weren't friends, when actually, we're family. You can't have this sort of life experience and not be and not be as emotionally connected to each other as we are."

The guitarist points to the album's numerical title, saying, "You know, there is something in the number seven that is very representative of change. There's a renewal aspect to it — seven days in a week, seven hells, and so forth. And on our seventh album, that's the case for us, too. I hope fans hear how much we appreciate the opportunity we have to make music for them. It's an opportunity for us to showcase our love for, put our stamp on, and represent UK metal. What a privilege that is for us, and we're ready to prove that we're doing everything for those right reasons."

SMACKBOUND Share New Video for "Imperfect Day"!

New Studio Album

'Hostage' Out April 21, 2023

Pre-Order HERE

We are counting down the days until SMACKBOUND's new album, 'Hostage' is released on April 21st!

The Finnish five-piece featuring vocalist Netta Laurenne, guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, drummer Rolf Pilve, keyboardist Vili Itäpelto, and bassist Tuomas Yli-Jaskari, once again deliver a hooky, driving, metal-influenced slab of hard rock power on their second album.

Watch the video for the powerful new single “Imperfect Day”

”We started writing the album in early 2021 and even recorded the drums for a couple of songs we had ready in the fall, but then stopped the process because a lot was going on in our lives. Given a deadline for getting the album done, most of it was written and recorded in September and October 2022 and I remember writing lyrics and singing lead vocals just days before mastering. And we mixed the album until the very last minute, with Vili [Itäpelto] and Tuomas [Yli-Jaskari] taking turns between working on the record and sleeping! It was a hell of a ride, but we were able to pull through and give birth to our beloved second child, 'Hostage'," says vocalist Netta Laurenne.

Hailing from Finland, Smackbound's story started back in 2015 when vocalist Netta Laurenne founded the group. A classically trained singer who has also studied pop, jazz, and folk singing, Laurenne's powerful vocal style is also perfectly suited for hard rock and metal and she went about finding the perfect musicians to team with for the musical style she wanted to pursue with Smackbound

Guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun), drummer Rolf Pilve (Stratovarius, The Dark Element), keyboardist Vili Itäpelto (Tracedawn), and bassist Tuomas Yli-Jaskari(Tracedawn) joined forces with Netta and the band commenced writing songs and set about playing gigs to continue to gel as a cohesive unit. Those gigs helped the band build up their rapport as musicians and live performers, turning them into a well-oiled machine by the time they hit the studio to record their debut album '20/20'.

But before '20/20' was released, the band formally debuted with a string of successful singles and videos on Youtube including the hooky "Drive It Like You Stole It", the energetic “Wall Of Silence", and the powerful "Run”. All three singles were included on the band’s debut album, which was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios, produced by Tuomas Yli-Jaskari, and mixed and mastered by Jesse Vainio (Sunrise Avenue, Apocalyptica, Poets Of The Fall), except for "Those Who Burn", which was mixed by Nino Laurenne.

Between the release of '20/20' and the band's upcoming album 'Hostage', Laurenne partook in various guest appearances and also partnered up with fellow Finnish vocalist Noora Louhimo to release an absolutely amazing heavy/hard rock album under the name Laurenne/Louhimo in 2021. "The Reckoning" was released to rave reviews as it showcased two powerful, dynamic vocalists delivering stunning performances boosted by their undeniable chemistry working together.

Now, Laurenne and her bandmates return for the second chapter of the ongoing story of Smackbound with 'Hostage'.

Canada's Locket Share "Tear Me to Pieces" Video — WATCH

STREAM "TEAR ME TO PIECES"

Canada's Locket have shared another new song. This time, the band has dropped "Tear Me to Pieces."

"Tear Me to Pieces" is a ball of hyperkinetic alt rock energy that nods to the late '90s. The garage-inspired riffing, dreamy harmonizing, handclaps, and singable choruses fully showcase the earnest heart that powers the Canadian band's compositions. It's also an ode to having a five-minute meltdown whenever you need to!

Watch the video below.

"This song, ironically, was the result of hitting a wall in the writing process," the band's Brad Garcia shares. "What started off as a mishmash of different demos turned into this dancey, rock tune. I think I'm generally perceived as quite a positive, optimistic person — the kind of personality that tries to look for the best in any given situation. The reality is that, combating my anxieties this way, with relentless positivity, is so fucking exhausting. I wanted to express that need, or desire, to just pop the cork off the bottle when too many things pile up. To isolate myself in a place where I can unload what's eating at me."

He finishes, "Sometimes you need to have your five-minute meltdown, or your cry at the end of the day."

The alt rock band previously shared the first new single in three years in the form of "Sonic Bloom." Watch the video here.

Locket, whose core members (Garcia, guitarist Cory Bergeron and bassist Travis Morrison) have achieved more than they ever could have dreamed of when they started out 10 years ago in a band under a different name. Once reforming as Locket, they released the album All Out in late 2019. The record earned positive press from publications including Billboard, The Alternative, and New Noise, and the single “Hunnie” has racked up more than 1.3 million Spotify streams.

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys release audacious 'Howl' single from coming 'Heaving' LP

"A rarity within music... one of Europe's most underrated talents" ~ The Revue

"Grandly superb... sonic depth and resonant dimension, infusing the music with weighty vibrancy" ~ Guitar Girl Magazine

“Scarily, startlingly good. Mesmerising. I was overwhelmed. I thought they’d be goodbut was kicked in the teeth by their power and theirsingular sensibility.. they were blindingly consummate andattuned to her vision. Really spectacularly good” ~ Jay Savage (Ex Director Sony ATV, ZA)

"With style and enigmatic poise... Kruger’s dreamy vocals spins visceral and poetic tales" ~ Texx and the City

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys present 'Howl', the final single from their forthcoming 'Heaving' album, which will be released on April 7 via Unique Records, a division of Schubert Music Europe GmbH, and The Orchard.

Both defiant and devastating, catchy and cutting, 'Howl' slips from casual storytelling into visceral, near violent, confession. Catharsis in the form of rock ‘n roll.

In some ways a focal point of the new record, 'Howl' doesn’t just use the voice as a way to form words, but as a form of expression - an animalistic kind of autobiography. Strange sounds, and intimate snippets of stories are threaded between pulses that hope to pull the body into feeling.

"I spent the last three albums quietly singing about how I wanted to make a noise and, on this song, I’ve finally managed to do just that - which means, when we go on tour, I’ll have to make more noise, which is a lovely trap to have set for myself. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all goes, and how it all feels, for everyone involved," says Lucy Kruger.

The band recently previewed the title track 'Heaving' with film by Belgian director and motion designer Lena Nerinckx (Contour Collective), featuring Kruger and Lenny-Dee Doucha, having earlier previewed lead tracks 'Burning Building' and 'Stereoscope'.

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys are an art pop ambient noise band whose music is full of atmosphere and intensity. Based in Berlin, the group is fronted by South African-born Lucy Kruger. Full of atmosphere and intensity, this burning psychedelic folk is both intimate and energetic.

The band has been touring throughout Germany and Europe over the last year, also performing at Rheeperbahn, Fusion, Maifeld Derby, Wave-Gotik Treffen, South of Silence, Immergut, Left of The Dial, and Synästhesie.

Since releasing the third and final album in the 'Tapes Trilogy' in April 2022 and touring these albums extensively, the band is now shifting attention to the 'Heaving' LP. The range of material and storytelling captured in the trilogy, and this new material allow the group to explore a live set that drifts between introverted and ecstatic.

They have announced the upcoming album launch, which will take place at Lido in Berlin on the 5th of May along with a Spring 2023 European Tour. Concert tickets can be obtained at https://lklb.tourlink.to/tickets

As of March 16, 'Howl' is available from fine music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The full 'Heaving' LP, which is out on April 7, is now available for pre-order.

AFTERMATH Releases New Full Length Album 'No Time To Waste' + Official Music Video for Single "We Can Do This Together"

Stream/Purchase No Time To Waste

https://ffm.to/aftermath-nttw

AFTERMATH released their highly anticipated new album, No Time to Waste via Zoid Entertainment/TLG/INgrooves today, March 17, 2023. This marks the third album in a trilogy, and is a departure from the previous dark, concept album installment in the trilogy.

"We are really proud of this album. It completes a trilogy of albums that began with our debut. Written in the darkest period in modern history, we actually wrote this one as an album of hope. We streamlined it from our previous dark concept record. The ten songs on this album are heavy and energized. It’s a metal record with a message and that message is we can do this together but we have no time to waste." - Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis.

To celebrate the release of No Time To Waste, the band released the official music video for single "We Can Do This Together" from acclaimed director Alex Zarek.

WATCH the video below:

Chicago based Aftermath, fronted by Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis, formed in October 1985 when Charlie and his schoolmate Steve Sacco (Guitar) got together. This early incarnation with Adam (Bass) and Ray Schmidt (Drums) released their first demo in 1986 featuring “Sentenced to Death”, “Revenge”, “Shotgun” and “The Aftermath”.

In 1987, they unleashed their second demo entitled Killing the Future featuring the tracks “When Will You Die”, “Going No Place”, “Chaos”, “Meltdown” and “War for Freedom”. The band pursued a mind-blowing speed and technical brand of thrash that soon set them apart from the pack and in the process made them a pioneering crossover thrash band.

The tracks "War for Freedom" & "When Will You Die" were both featured on the British Metal Forces magazine_compilation LP Demolition: Scream Your Brains Out in 1988. Their appearance on the Metal Forces compilation further expanded the band's international appeal.

By 1988, the band's musical direction was changing, and Adam's raw and simple bass lines would soon be replaced with complex and technical bass parts handled at first by John Lovette. Ironically, John never played bass on any Aftermath recording and was not even a bass player. He wanted to join the band so badly, however, that he came to the audition with a friend's bass he had just started to play. The speed and complex playing he displayed were like nothing the members had ever seen before on bass. He landed the gig that day. When the band decided it was time to add a second guitarist, Lovette told his bandmates of his desire to switch to guitar and for the first time he came clean he was a guitar player pretending to be a bass player all along. His bass playing was surpassed by his guitar skills and the band found its second guitar player, but unfortunately the search for a bass player was forced to resume. Luckily, the search (for the time being, anyway) ended with Danny Vega. His warm and precise playing was the perfect complement to the guitar playing of Lovette and Sacco and worked amazingly well with Schmidt's powerful drumming. With Lovette handling most of the song writing duties, Aftermath was about to make an unbelievable musical change.

By 1989, that change brought on by Lovette's writing and the band's musical tastes and stylings had slowed and matured as evidenced by the release of the underground classic demo Words That Echo Fear. Danny Vega was replaced on bass by Chris Waldron. The band went onto to become a trailblazing progressive/technical thrash band in the years that followed.

In 1990, based on the huge international success of the Words that Echo Feardemo, the metal label RoadRacer Records (a subsidiary of Roadrunner Records)approached the band for a demo deal, which resulted in a live four track demo featuring the songs “Eyes of Tomorrow”, “Afraid Of Time”, “The Act Of Unspoken Wisdom” and “Reflecting Pictures". Negotiations eventually broke down and Aftermath signed to New York's Big Chief Records. The label's collapse halfway through the recording sessions led to a long delay in finishing the record. While the band struggled to pay the studio bill, the album the band started to record in 1990 would not see the light of day for four years. The experience left the band reeling and forced them to issue the album under their own imprint with the help of their manager through Zoid Recordings in 1994. Four long years had passed since the initial recordings for the record Eyes of Tomorrow and the scene had dramatically changed.

The album was subsequently re-released on Thermometer Sound Surface / Zoidand released yet again four years (1998) later on Black Lotus Records in a re-mastered version.

Quite famously, Aftermath, in a notable court case Tsiolis v. Interscope. Records. Inc., 946 F.Supp. 1344, 1349 (N.D.III. 1996) sued high-profile millionaire rapper DR. DRE over the ownership of the Aftermath name. The Rapper tried to buy the name for $50,000, which the band rejected. The band sued him. As part of the settlement, Interscope Records signed the band. To the label's surprise, the band delivered a record under the moniker Mother God Moviestar. Its eponymous Electro-Metal debut was released in March 1998. The case has been studied in law schools around the US related to the issue of trademark dilution.

Aftermath has continued to receive critical acclaim as one of the major influences in the genre. The band was featured on pages 9 and 10 of Gary Sharpe-Young's A - Z of Thrash Metal, available on Cherry Red Books. Aftermath is also given an entire feature section in Alexandros Anesiadis’ 2019 book Crossover the Edge: Where Hardcore, Punk, and Metal Collide.

Twenty-five years after its formation, Aftermath's music made its return in 2011 with the release of the Box Set 25 YEARS OF CHAOS on Area Death Productions and the vinyl When Will You Die on F.O.A.D. The reemergence of one of the most original thrash bands ever continued in 2014 with their decision to reunite for several concerts in 2015.

Coming off their first show in 20 years at Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse in their hometown of Chicago, the band ripped the stage apart at Headbanger’s Open Air in Hamburg, Germany that summer. In the Fall of 2015, the reunion continued with the reissue of Eyes of Tomorrow. With an expanded booklet and remastered by Paul Logus (Pantera, Steel Panther), Shadow Kingdom Records released the band's debut along with bonus material. Following this release was the Killing the Futurereissue on Divebomb Records. Once again Paul Logus remastered the tracks from their original source and created a wall of sound in the process. Killing the Future, along with the expanded booklet and bonus tracks from the band's 1986 first demo completed the celebration of the band's 30th anniversary.

In 2017, the band started writing the material for their new album. There is Something Wrong is an 11-song opus recorded by Chuck Macak. mastered by Ted Jensen and released through Ingrooves by Zoid Entertainment and The Label Group. A concept record in the truest sense of the word, the album features a mix of old-school crossover thrash and technical/progressive metal and is a commentary on what is wrong with the world today. A calling out of the masses to wake up and know the real enemy. The music is urgent, and the lyrics challenge the listener to seek the truth. Aftermath went back to its early days and revived its crossover thrash stylings on several songs, but those are only samples of what the listeners have in store for them once they put on their headphones and listen to There is Something Wrong in its entirety.

In 2020, Aftermath released a re-imagined version of the John Lennon classic, "Give Peace a Chance". The song was remixed and remastered for the new album and included on the record because of the message.

“John Lennon’s urgent call for peace in Give Peace a Chance is more important today than ever, and our call for peace with this cover is the perfect message to follow up our previous album. We released a dark concept album with a bleak message and felt it was important to follow that up with something positive. The visuals in the video are as important as the lyrics in a way. We live in a visual world today and this video needed to get out the message of HOPE. Having a young girl be the focus of the video was our way of getting that across. Seeing only positive acts when she puts on Lennon’s famous glasses was the perfect visual metaphor. Lennon’s message is transmitted not only through his lyrics but also through the perspective created by his unique lenses” says the band.

The video was directed by critically acclaimed video director Steven Nathan in New York City.

Steve Sacco - Guitar
Ray Schmidt - Drums
George Lagis - Bass

Walker Hayes Releases Two-Pack: "being a dad and missing mine"

Over the last few years, Monument Records recording artist Walker Hayes has experienced just about the highest high an artist can dream of. After grinding for nearly 20 years in Nashville, he struck gold with his smash hit “Fancy Like.” For months, the fun-filled tune could be heard in every bar, restaurant, sports game or tailgate, all while hundreds of thousands of people danced to it on TikTok. The song garnered Hayes a GRAMMY Nomination, among many other accolades, and led to a sold out, headlining arena tour.

While that success could be seen as the “American Dream,” Hayes knows better than to trust the fame and fortune. In the same set of years that he saw his music dreams come true, he went through one of the toughest losses of his life – the passing of his father. As a dad to six himself, with his seventh child Oakleigh in heaven, the loss hit Hayes square in the chest. Now, the singer/songwriter is delivering a project that highlights the loss his family has experienced while doing what he does best – looking inward. On the track “6 string american dream” Hayes sings:

Yeah I’m a little bit higher up on that Nashville ladder
but money didn’t fix anything that really matters
my haters still say I can’t sing
        my marriage still needs counseling
my sons don’t know how not to fight
my daughter’s shorts are too short & too tight
        if I’m drinking honestly
        still can’t drink responsibly
        I’m a 6 string American dream
but I still wake up sad
        I still need Jesus
and I still miss my dad

The other track, titled “if father time had a daughter,” is equally as introspective and finds Hayes begging Father Time to have mercy on the fathers who have to watch their little girls grow up so fast, singing “time would stand still a little longer / if Father Time had a daughter.”

"Been waiting to get these two songs out for a long time,” says Hayes. “As I look at the body of work and the songs I’m sitting on, I think about what I want to say – and this is what I want to say to the world right now. These songs wreck me in different ways and it’s my hope that everyone that listens will leave feeling real feelings."

being a dad and missing mine is out now on Monument Records, and is a prime example of why Billboard praised his music as “personal, soul-bearing storylines; rolling rhymes; and Macklemore-like cadence.”

Listen to If Father Time had a daughter  below

Hayes is set to kick off his headlining arena tour, The Duck Buck Tour, this April in Rosemont, IL. For more information, visit walkerhayes.com

Blackened Death Metal Heavyweights THULCANDRA Unleash Album Title Track, "Hail The Abyss"!

New Album Out May 19, 2023 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order HERE!

May 19, 2023 will see blackened death metal force THULCANDRA release their fifth studio album, entitled 'Hail The Abyss', via Napalm Records.

Following the recent release of their music video for first single "As I Walk Through The Gateway", today, the German four-piece has shared their diabolic album title track, "Hail The Abyss"!

The band’s forthcoming magnum opus proves yet again why they’re atop death metal’s malefic vedette. It showcases their affinity for dark, aggressive and mellifluous metal while the entire album rips and terrorizes with the intensity of hell. As always, THULCANDRA's about a vibe - there's always a unique "feel" that's distinctly old-school, but without the tired trappings of it.

Preparing to return from their debut US tour alongside FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, OBSCURA & WOLFHEART, guitarist/vocalist Steffen Kummerer comments about the new single:

"The title track of our upcoming album, 'Hail The Abyss', turned into a sharp and pushing composition that blends a balanced mix of black and death metal. The record turned out as we hoped it will, and the video produced by Grupa13 (Behemoth, Kreator, Arch Enemy) might be the most iconic clip we came up with in our 20 year long lasting career.“

Watch the New THULCANDRA Music Video for "Hail the Abyss"

THULCANDRA’s rise to power ignited when the band unleashed their debut album, 'Fallen Angel’s Dominion', upon metaldom in 2010. The group, fronted by founding member and visionary Steffen Kummerer (also of Obscura fame), have tightened their hibernal grip on blackened death metal since. The desolate melodic emanations in follow-up studio records 'Under a Frozen Sun' (2011), 'Ascension Lost' (2015), and the chart-topping, 2021-album 'A Dying Wish', dedicated to late bassist Chris Kratzer, solidified THULCANDRA as a superior force, expertly thrusting the magic and mystery of mid-’90s melodic black-death metal into the modern era.

"With ‘Hail The Abyss’, we just count the 5th album within 20 years of Thulcandra“, Kummerer recently said. "A banger, and a diverse record that shows a unique blend of black and death metal, combined with classic heavy metal twin guitars. The album turned out excellent and Dan Swanö delivered a splendid mix - raw, natural and showcasing each individual musician on the record. ‘Hail The Abyss’ undoubtedly turned into a highlight of our long lasting career.“

'Hail the Abyss' is slated for release on May 19, 2023 via Napalm Records. Cooperation with renowned producer Dan Swanö (Dissection, Opeth, Katatonia) was compulsory, as was the re-invitation to cover-master Lochner.
