Roses are red, violets are blue, you can run, you can hide, but Mike’s Dead will find you. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the L.A.-based artist, rapper and producer has released an eerie version of Garbage’s cult classic hit “#1 Crush,” the song made famous from the ‘90s Romeo + Juliet film soundtrack, that takes on the darker side of love.

"I was really moved by Shirley Manson's original performance and Butch Vig’s original production,” says Mike’s Dead about choosing the cover. “The original song is so raw and authentic that I wanted to give it my own little twist and add some aggression to it. I beefed up the guitars and added in a bunch of diabolical synths and really pushed the vocals into more of a raspy, gritty space. The lyrics are super intense and I wanted people to FEEL them more in this version."

Mixing together notes of industrial, metal, electronic and hip-hop, and influences from Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein and Limp Bizkit, “#1 Crush” falls in line with Mike’s Dead’s go-to style that has created a cult-like fanbase since he launched the independent project in 2018.

LEGENDARY CANADIAN BAND THE GUESS WHO IS SET TO RELEASE ITS NEW STUDIO ALBUM, PLEIN D‘AMOUR

The Guess Who is a legendary Canadian band who enjoyed chart topping hits in the late 60s and early 70s with an impressive catalogue of songs including "American Woman," "These Eyes," and "No Time." During the course of its career, the band has released 11 studio albums, all of which charted in Canada and the United States. The Guess Who is best known internationally for its 1970 album, American Woman, which hit number one in Canada and number nine in the United States, with five other albums also hitting the top ten in Canada.  All in all, the Guess Who boasts 14 top-40 singles in the United States and more than 30 in Canada.

LANDMARK ROADRUNNER UNITED RELEASE RETURNS IN MULTIPLE CONFIGURATIONS IN MARCH 2023

Roadrunner United was a project organized by iconic hard rock record label Roadrunner Records to celebrate its 25th anniversary, culminating in the U.S. Billboard Top 200, UK Albums, and Australian ARIA Albums-charting original The All Star Sessions. Four "team captains" (Slipknot's Joey Jordison, Machine Head's Robb Flynn, Fear Factory's Dino Cazares, and Trivium's Matthew K. Heafy) were chosen to lead 57 artists from 45 past and present Roadrunner bands. It was truly a heavy metal family affair — and then some!

The release was labeled "a testament to Roadrunner's far-reaching impact on the genre" by MTV. Because that's exactly what it was.

Additionally, on December 15, 2005, a concert celebrating the project, album, and anniversary took place at the Nokia Theater in New York City.

The original track from The All-Star Sessions was penned by songwriting captain Robb Flynn and featured Corey Taylor on vocals; Jeff Waters andJordan Whelan on guitar; Paul Gray on bass; and Andols Herrick on drums.

That star-studded event featured multiple musicians, both past and present, from Roadrunner bands — as well as musicians that did not originally perform on the All-Star Sessions album.

The set list consisted of some of the most popular and famous songs released by Roadrunner Records, as well as some of the original songs from the project's album. The "core band," which performed on the majority of the songs, consisted of the aforementioned Cazares (Fear Factory), Adam Duce(Machine Head), the late Paul Gray (Slipknot), the late Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), and Roy Mayorga(Hellyeah, Stone Sour).

Now, both the original All-Star Sessions album and the concert performance itself will be made widely available in multiple configurations on March 10, 2023. We have opened the vault to bring to you for the first time on vinyl Roadrunner United The Concert (Live at the Nokia Theatre, New York, NY, 12/15/2005), featuring members of Slipknot, Anthrax, Trivium, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Sepultura, and more. Roadrunner United was a project organized by the heavy metal record label Roadrunner Records to celebrate its 25th anniversary. On December 15, 2005, in New York City. Roadrunner Records produced the metal concert to end all Metal Concerts: 39 musicians, representing 25 different Roadrunner bands, performed 25 songs from 19 different bands' repertoires. This unique and unprecedented aggregation of musicians was no jam session. Each song was studiously rehearsed and arranged, coming together with exuberant perfection, to produce a concert that can only be called legendary and iconic!
 
Conceived as a follow-up to the Roadrunner United The All-Star Sessions, the label recruited the core team of musicians (Dino Cazares, Adam Duce, Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Andreas Kisser, and Roy Mayorga) as the backbone of the performance.  Sure enough, as they fine-tuned the songs and rehearsed them tirelessly, dozens of other musicians boarded the performance.
 
This 3-LP set represents the gathering of a community of musicians that spans the heavy metal history of the first 25 years of Roadrunner Records — from King Diamond to Slipknot and beyond. Those who were lucky enough to be there experienced a night they will never forget.  For the first time as a live concert album, this 3-LP set on red, white, and black-colored vinyl is a chance to relive that special night again and again.

The concert will also be available digitally.

It is also presented in HD for the first time ever.

Stone Broken Issue Digital Deluxe Version of "Revelation" + Share "Stronger" Video

Post-punk new romantics Candy Coffins present 'Tangled Up In Teacups', a superb single showcasing the third act crescendo of a relationship in a tailspin - the detachment, the anger, the self-absorption, the exhaustion. It is a waltz of protection via insulating flippancy and a voice that reveals one’s entire arc of emotions.

The accompanying video, which juxtaposes a pensive and inaccessible Jame Lathren with stunning ballet dancers Mira Lathren and Bella Leone in an urban landscape, was produced and directed by The Pierson Collective.

This song can be found on the band's new album 'Once Do It With Feeling', a 10-track collection considered to be their best work to date. With Cure-esque textures and melody, as well as thematic elements and the visceral delivery of The Afghan Whigs, this record showcases solid songwriting, an approach and delivery that is confident and cohesive, as well as emotional and sonic saturation.

"The full album chronicles a relationship from the onset of the first crack to its complete crumbling dissolution. All the feelings and emotions of tumult are captured here, from both persons’ perspectives," says frontman-songwriter Jame Lathren.

Earlier, the band released two singles - 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity', exploring the dark corners and haunting suffocation of a broken relationship, and 'Seaside Girls', paying tribute to the playful abandon of youth with a healthy dose of indierock.

Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Jame Lathren formed Candy Coffins in 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina. A cultural outcast, his resilience, sensitivity and hyper-awareness of his emotional state would ultimately permeate his own music, getting right to the heart of the emotions surrounding the human condition.

After disbanding his previous band Crown The Cake, he formed Candy Coffins with hometown guitar legend Tom Alewine (Bachelors of Art), followed by seasoned music scene veterans Alex Mabrey on bass and Justin Purdy on keys, and former Iron & Wine touring drummer Jonathan Bradley. With dynamic and textured approach, the band's trademark lush sound bolsters Lathren’s emotive songwriting and delivery.

With tasteful nods to Joy Division, The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs, The Afghan Whigs and The Cult, as well as contemporaries like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Interpol, Candy Coffins’ sound is dark and emotionally restless, but with elements of hope and elation. Defiantly unique, their sound is a welcome respite from musical mediocrity.

What better way to announce the new year than with a letter? South Carolina-based alternative pop duo The Yets are doing just that with their new video for 'Letter To A Boy'.  This is the latest offering from their self-titled EP, a six-track debut offering indie pop sensation and sonic temptation with a fresh, but seemingly familiar, adult alternative vibe.

Haunting, dynamic and smooth, they transform the classic to contemporary, counting Roxy Music, David Bowie, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cult, Cocteau Twins, Pink Floyd and even Soundgarden among their musical influences.

The Yets is the creative union of Robin Wilson on vocals and guitarist-producer Craig Anderson Snook, who met when Robin returned to her home state after some years in Georgia. Earlier, the duo released two audio-visual offerings for the singles 'Remember' and 'Lesser Evil'.

“Somewhere at the intersection of sound and emotion lies the description of those things we all treasure the most, 'Letter To A Boy' is about that special feeling a mother has for her son. It’s unique and difficult to express. It's extremely hard to put so much feeling into so few words.  Lyrically, it’s the most challenging I’ve ever done.  It’s also the most rewarding,” says Robin Wilson.

Based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, their music combines elements of ethereal pop and popular rock classics with a sound embracing Fleetwood Mac and Cocteau Twins in equal measure. "In a very general sense, this album is about life:  the passage of time, relationships and the consequences of the choices we make along the way. I’ve always wanted to bare my musical soul, but never had the right vehicle. That musical soul has always wanted to speak to the world, but never had the right voice. The Yets is that vehicle and Robin is that voice,” says Craig Anderson Snook, who has performed semi-professionally since he was 13. His musical passion led him beyond cover bands into composition, arrangement, audio engineering, production and ultimately to running his own Royal Terns Records label and studio, where he recorded, mixed and produced the new EP.

After being immersed in the music scene while in high school, Robin found her way to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where she fronted the goth-rock band Bachelors of Art (B.O.A.). Upon relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, she fronted the female alt-rock group Skirt, touring the USA extensively and supporting numerous high profile acts.

“My previous musical endeavors were always hard rock-based. I wasn’t involved with the actual songwriting, except for my vocal melodies and lyrics. With The Yets, I’ve broken that mold, helping to compose and produce a whole new sound. I’ve combined my artwork and media arts degree into the whole creative package. We recorded and produced our own CD in our own studio. We created our own videos and designed and built our own website," says Robin Wilson.

Indie pop outfit The Mystery Plan are back with their 'What A Day' EP, a scrumptious dose of bliss-pop released via American boutique label 10mm Omega Recordings. This boisterous three-track offering highlights the lead track from the band's forthcoming 'Haunted Organic Machines' record - their seventh full length album and 13th major release.

A staple on the North Carolina music scene, the Charlotte-based collective started back in 2010 as a duo with Jason Herring and Paul Jensen (Fetchin' Bones / the Interstellars) writing and producing everything. Jason's wife, Amy Herring, then joined and, several years later, the line-up was rounded out with Otis Hughes, Patty McLaughlin Thomas and Jefferson Chester. 

"When we were starting to come out of the pandemic we wanted to do something fun and groovy, and what happened was 'What A Day (Disco)'. The rest of the album just fell into place after that," says Jason Herring.

Produced and mixed by Jason Herring and Rob Tavaglione, 'Haunted Organic Machines' finds the band exploring new, but familiar territory from spacey dance grooves, to spooky, moody dream pop and everything that goes with it.

This album follows a steady stream of releases from the quintet, the latest of which involved the legendary John Fryer (This Mortal Coil, Black Needle Noise), known for producing seminal releases by Love and Rockets, Dead Can Dance, Nine Inch Nails, Swans, Clan of Xymox, Yaz (Yazoo), Xmal Deutschland and Stabbing Westward, among others. This fruitful collaboration shaped The Mystery Plan albums 'Queensland Ballroom', 'Zsa Zsa' and 'You Also Have Eyes', not to mention the creation of an epic remix on the 'Thought Bubbles' record.

As of February 10, the 'What A Day' EP will be available digitally, including Bandcamp, Spotify and Apple Music. The full ''Haunted Organic Machines' album will be released, both digitally and on CD, on March 31.

ENFORCER - Announce New Album Nostalgia + Release First Single 'Coming Alive'

ENFORCER have returned with gigantic news!
Four years after their last studio album Zenith, and two years after the release of their second live album Live By Fire II in 2021, the Swedes now announce their sixth studio album, Nostalgia. Due out on May 5th this year, the pioneers of the 'new wave of traditional heavy metal' movement return with a hard-hitting album reminiscent of the band's original roots. To get an immediate taste of the new masterpiece, the Swedes have also delivered the first single from the record, titled 'Coming Alive', accompanied by a brand-new music video.

ENFORCER's new album Nostalgia was recorded at Olof and Jonas Wikstrand's own Hvergelmer Studios, where the most recent ENFORCER records also first saw the light of day. All 13 album tracks were captured between October 2020 and February 2022. The entire record was produced, mixed, and engineered by the band. The artwork for Nostalgia is made by Adam Burke. With Nostalgia, ENFORCER are embracing their speed metal roots, fusing extreme guitar riffing with catchy stadium choruses.

Hard Rock Veterans BLACK WATER RISING Release New Single “Hail Mary”

Hard rock veterans Black Water Rising have released a new song, titled “Hail Mary”, along with a music video! Preceded by their song “Jokes On You” from last year, the music video for the new track is premiering today exclusively via Ghost Cult Magazine.

"Hail Mary" is the fourth single from the band’s upcoming album, due out later this year. It also features original guitarist John Fattoruso, who rejoined BWR in late 2019. The video was once again directed by Tom Flynn (Lamb Of God, I Prevail). The new material promises to be more melodic, yet still as riff-heavy as BWR’s previous albums - featuring hooks and catchy choruses to pull you in, all while retaining a musical identity of its own.

Commenting on the new video, drummer Mike Meselsohn shares, "It was great working with Tom (director) again on this new video. Although it's strictly a performance video, he was able to capture the live energy of the band while still creating a visually stunning compliment to the song!"

Today, LIMP BIZKIT share the cinematic music video for "Out Of Style," directed by frontman Fred Durst and Marc Klasfeld. 
 
The video made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, and MTV's Biggest Pop.

Durst and Klasfeld point to this Jimi Hendrix lyric when summing up the video: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."
 
The song is the opening track from the band's sixth full-length studio album, STILL SUCKS. [Suretone].
 
The clip finds a deepfake assortment of "world leaders" together (Joe Biden, Vladimir Putin, Volodymyr Zelensky, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong-un), and even invites an appearance from "Mr. Maverick" himself in A.I. form. Meanwhile, the band throws down in a garage during a barbecue. There are all kinds of hidden Easter Eggs and deeper message — if you are paying close enough attention.

Canadian deathcore wrecking crew, BRAND OF SACRIFICE, have announced the release of new EP, 'Between Death and Dreams' out on April 21st. Speaking on the brand new track, BRAND OF SACRIFICE frontman, Kyle Anderson adds

'A big challenge for me this year was to bring in some different elements on the emotional spectrum into our music and lyrics, not just despair or anger. I wanted to express some of my personal story through this song. Dynasty is more uplifting - it's about challenging yourself to overcome your personal obstacles while staring fear in the face and, much like Brand of Sacrifice as a whole, becoming an absolutely unstoppable force.'

"Dynasty" follows the release of track "Exodus", the band's first new music in over a year, in November last year to much furore from fans.
