“Best for You” by Colin Stough is a raw, heart-on-the-sleeve country ballad about loving someone enough to let them go. Through imagery of airplanes, streetlights, and unanswered calls, the lyrics paint the pain of watching someone move on while you’re still stuck in the hurt. Even as he admits he keeps coming back and can’t numb the heartbreak, the chorus lands on a powerful truth: no matter how bad it gets, he doesn’t wish her ill will. In the end, the love stays unconditional. He still wants the best for her, even if it breaks him.

About Colin Stough

Born and raised on the Mississippi-Alabama line, 21-year-old Colin Stough was brought up on Southern rock and second chances. A self-taught guitarist and gravel-voiced storyteller influenced by The Allman Brothers, Conway Twitty, and Koe Wetzel, he first picked up a guitar at age eight, later trading in his prized possessions for a pawn shop acoustic — one he still plays today. After high school, he worked full-time as an HVAC tech until his mom pushed him to audition for American Idol Season 21. That leap launched a life-changing ride: a standout third-place finish, a deal with 19 Recordings / BMG Nashville, and breakout songs like “Sober,” “’Til The Day One Does,” and 2025’s hard-edged anthem, “White Trash.”

BLAZONER Announces First Single "I'm In Love With My Car" From Upcoming Covers EP Sonic Chambers

Fredericksburg, Virginia heavy rock trio BLAZONER has released "I'm In Love With My Car," the first single from their upcoming covers EP Sonic Chambers, due out February 13, 2026. The track offers an electrified and harmony rich reinterpretation of the classic QUEEN deep cut.

The band approached the recording with a mix of respect, intensity, and playfulness. Drummer Andy Murray takes the lead vocal, a nod to Roger Taylor’s original performance, while Brian Carnes and Stephen Sullivan join him to build thick, layered choruses that showcase the trio’s signature multi vocal sound. The band recorded an extensive number of vocal tracks to capture the fullness and dramatic lift that makes the original song such a standout. Longtime friend and producer Jeff Covert helped guide the arrangement and brought extra clarity and dimension to the performance.

"I'm In Love With My Car" marks the first look at Sonic Chambers, a collection born from a spontaneous decision to record a few favorite covers in the studio. What began as a simple session quickly evolved into a five track EP that celebrates the music that shaped BLAZONER’s sound and spirit. CLOCKTOWERS is a genre-blending rock/metal duo that proves lightning can strike twice—first in the past, then in the most unexpected moment years later. The band was officially born in 2022, but the story begins long before that.

Vocalist Tarek Puska and multi-instrumentalist Dakota Logan first crossed paths in an earlier metal outfit that spent five years grinding through shows, songwriting sessions, and the chaotic rhythm of band life. Life eventually pulled them in different directions—but fate clearly had other plans. Years later, in the unassuming town of Reily, Ohio, the two reconnected by chance at a local pizza joint. At its core, CLOCKTOWERS thrives on contrast and chemistry. Tarek, born in 1969, brings a lifetime of hard-earned perspective and vocal power rooted in classic metal and rock traditions. Dakota, born in 1995, injects fresh energy, fearless experimentation, and a modern edge that pushes the sound into uncharted territory. Their 25-year age gap isn’t a limitation—it’s a superpower. CLOCKTOWERS draws inspiration from a wide palette of heavy music: the swagger and electricity of AC/DC, the doom-soaked weight of BLACK SABBATH, the eerie theatricality of GHOST, the brooding darkness of TYPE O NEGATIVE, the bombast of KISS, and the razor-sharp muscle of METALLICA. Yet, these aren’t just influences—they’re launch pads. CLOCKTOWERS takes what’s familiar and twists it into something personal and raw, layering in textures, emotions, and hooks that make their sound unmistakable.

The band’s songwriting is deeply intentional. One of their standout tracks, “Ashes,” caught the attention of Jason Viebrooks, known for his work with HEATHEN, GRIP INC., and now EXHORDER. Viebrooks lent his talents on bass and guitar alongside Dakota for the single, while Todd J. Farler, a seasoned drummer from Cincinnati, added a thunderous groove that elevated the track even further. It’s the only track on the record that features guest musicians—every other note, riff, and lyric on Genesis comes straight from the two founding members. That was a deliberate decision. CLOCKTOWERS is about preserving a raw, undiluted vision. No filler. No compromises.

With Genesis, CLOCKTOWERS has positioned itself not just as a band, but as a statement—a declaration that real, passionate, no-bullshit rock and metal is alive, evolving, and still capable of hitting you straight in the soul. LONG LOST CULT CLASSIC BY ARMAGEDDON IS CELEBRATING ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY AND IS BEING REISSUED

Armageddon was formed in 1974, and their self-titled debut, Armageddon, released in 1975, was recorded in England and released in the United States on A&M Records. The albums' original liner notes use the term "supergroup", as their personnel were drummer Bobby Caldwell (previously a member of Captain Beyond), singer Keith Relf (who had fronted the band the Yardbirds and was a co-founder of Renaissance), guitarist Martin Pugh (from Steamhammer), and bassist Louis Cennamo (also formerly of Renaissance and Steamhammer).

This classic has now been remastered and repackaged in a beautiful gatefold on 180G Atomic Red Vinyl with additional photos and credits to celebrate the 50th Anniversary.  There is a Limited (100 copies) signed bundle that comes with a 10x10 print signed by all three-surviving members (Bobby Caldwell, Louis Cennamo, Martin Pugh). As Caldwell states, “Hello!  It was a great pleasure to have written and worked on the Armageddon album with the late Keith Relf, Martin Pugh, and Louis Cenamo, some of the finest players in England!  We had a lot of fun, and we are delighted to see the album being re-issued by Deko Entertainment. Theodor Bastard Return with New Single “Nebo”

For three decades, Theodor Bastard have bridged the traditions of the old world with the new. Now, five years removed from their last full-length journey, the Karelian pioneers of electro-folk are beginning a new venture that reconnects with their earliest roots.    

Today, Theodor Bastard are releasing their first single in five years. While written specifically for the award-winning Russian crime drama The Method, “Nebo” offers an initial glimpse at the band’s upcoming ninth studio album. Yana Veva’s vocals continue to twirl with the fragility of snow, but the way the song’s beat rolls like smog recalls their early electronic experiments with World Music.  

“We leaned on analog synthesizers, most notably the Soviet-era Polivoks and modern Arturia MiniBrute”, says Theodor Bastard’s founding member Fedor Svolotch. “Our recent albums have focused more on acoustic and ethnically-inflected textures. Returning to analog gear felt like coming home to a language we missed”.

Jagged City (feat. Defeater, ex-Explosions In The Sky) Reveal Debut Single + EP // Share "Imaginary Lines" Video

Post-rock trio Jagged City, featuring Jake Woodruff (Defeater) and Carlos Torres (former touring member of Explosions In The Sky) have unveiled their debut single "Imaginary Lines." They have also announced their debut EP, There Are More of Us, Always, to be released on January 30 via Pelagic Records.

There Are More of Us, Always is a bold collection that moves between spacious, melodic guitar passages and raucous, swelling climbs. With heartfelt, melodious songwriting, a diverse range of eclectic touches buried within, and eruptions of dense, layered sound, this record delivers wonderfully balanced compositions through raw and personal production.

The project began as a cross-continental art experiment between Woodruff and Torres. What started as a simple exchange of ideas quickly found real shape through collaborative composition and thoughtful arrangement. Early sessions with David Haik helped refine the songs' structures and drum frameworks, setting the groundwork for what would become Jagged City's striking debut.

"We wrote with pure instinct, just tried to add something new to a genre that we love. As we traded ideas, we took some left turns and incorporated elements that may be unexpected," comments Woodruff.

When it came time to record, scheduling issues led to an inspired change of plans. Urian Hackney joined the project both behind the kit and behind the board, engineering and performing the drum parts that propel the record. In two intense days at The Box studio in Burlington, VT, Jake and Urian captured the core of the album with an immediacy and urgency that remain audible in every take. 

Carlos recorded bass in Los Angeles alongside longtime musical colleague Michael James (Explosions In The Sky), while Jake added further guitar textures from his home studio, creating layers that thread the compositions together.

This debut is both a statement of intent and an open invitation: Jagged City offer music that rewards close listening and communal experience—an instrumental journey shaped by collaboration and a fierce commitment to feeling. While still post-rock, There Are More of Us, Always utilizes a diverse range of influence, giving a freshness to each uniquely realized track.

"This record is a product of collaboration and love and creativity - we hope it inspires people to be connected and think collaboratively and creatively together. That's the only way forward." concludes Woodruff.

Since 1994, Blood for Blood have quietly achieved their rightful place in the hardcore pantheon, thanks to an all-out punk and hardcore assault delivered with metallic precision, laced with venomous swagger and spiked with a sarcastic sense of humor.

Today, they share their new single "YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO KILL ME." It's the first new song from Blood for Blood in 21 years. And it rips.

Fueled by the very unbridled aggression that propelled them to the top of the hardcore scene in the '90s and early '00's, BFB are, put simply, fucking back.

Opening with that hardened grit that only a Boston-bred voice could deliver, the band hasn't missed a (two) step — with bass lines that slap and their perma-quintessential middle fingers raised high. It's all fingerpointing, floorpunching, and fist-in-the-air fury.

Notice the tip of the hat to Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke, giving way an ominous groan of distortion and frenzied double bass. The riffs thrash and roll, and the groove quakes with enough force to register on the Richter scale. Its bellowing chorus splits the pit with a call-to-arms: "Stay down you're gonna have to kill me, 'cause we won't stay down 'til we're dead." A melodic call-and-response burns like a light at the end of the tunnel.

About the song itself, singer Rob Lind says, "It's a straight-up-the-pipe Blood for Blood song. Initially, it points out pop culture's fascination with criminality and outlaw nonsense. Everybody is trying to be wild, gangster, or whatever, all of which 'You're Gonna Have To Kill Me' sneers at. For all of this contempt, it ends on a really  positive note. It might even be uplifting, which is my hope."

Furthermore, the band declares, "Blood for Blood have returned from exile with new music and new live dates. We're proud to say we've signed with Roadrunner Records, and our new single 'You're Gonna Have to Kill Me' is streaming everywhere now."

You could say they unassumingly reflected the intensity of a scene overlooked by the music industry and simultaneously mirrored the aggression of a working class forgotten by its country's "leaders." During 1998, BFB uncorked unadulterated rage with Revenge on Society, which Axe To Grind cited as one of the "5 Hardcore Albums That Defined 1996-2000." The musicians rallied together with 1999's Livin' In Exile hailed as "definitive" by Boston Phoenix. Stockholm-based dark metal four-piece THE VICE have unveiled the music video for "Waltz de Anima", the epic closing track from their newly released 3-track EP "The Red Tape Sessions". The EP is available now via Noble Demon. 

About the track, the band comments: "Waltz de Anima", in my opinion is definitely our most 'epic' song to date. The chorus was the first segment written and it immediately felt like one of the 'big choruses' we'd wanted to write for a long time, but it just hadn't come to us yet. But from the first demo-recording of the song we knew that this was one for the books. It has a very majestic, regal tone to it which we kept close in mind when writing the rest of the song. And with the strange, smoke-drenched, early 1900's jazz-club-vibe in the intro and the interlude reminiscing of parties of the bourgeoisie in huge ballrooms centuries ago, or some twisted night at the Royal Opera or Ballet even, I think we did quite well in highlighting that mood throughout the entire song."

From the glory days of the Philadelphia and New Jersey rock scene of the 80s that spawned Cinderella, Britny Fox, Pretty Poison, John Eddie, and an entire laundry list of artists who went forward to be stars, there was a band called Destroyer.  These boys in Destroyer were *ssholes. Too young, bad attitudes, but really good, great songs, and ultra entertaining. 

 

Going wide open full throttle, it would take them some time before they were a commodity that a record company of that day would even consider. Even though their self-released EP sold out of multiple pressings. When that glorious day came, there was a flash bulletin....“Sorry, grunge ate your genre”. 

 

Led by Myers, the band had unknowingly sidestepped all the woes and pressures of being “that commodity” and unwanted influences. Taking some time to let the songs and playing develop to be the best it could resulted in that band today called Slik Helvetika. Lots of driving energy, melody, memorable chorus hooks, great playing and strong lyrics. Yes, it is a reincarnation of Destroyer with bigger balls, but incredibly tastefully done. 

 

The line up has always featured Michael Myers on lead guitar and vocals – who has had the privilege of playing alongside a variety of talented musicians, such as Kjell Benner [formerly of Quiet Riot] Vern Parsons [Greg Howe].  Slik Helvetika and Destroyer have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Cinderella, Trixter, Savatage, EZO, Kingdom Come, Malice, Foghat, Rick Derringer, Funny Money, [Kix side project], Krokus, Manowar, John 5 and many more.

MALEFIC Unleash New Single “In Darkest Dreams” from Forthcoming Album Impermanence

Atlanta blackened thrash visionaries MALEFIC have released their new single “In Darkest Dreams,” taken from the band’s long-awaited full length album Impermanence, arriving February 13, 2026 via Terminus Hate City. As one of the oldest songs in the MALEFIC catalog, originally dating back to the years before 2010, “In Darkest Dreams” has undergone a long evolution to become the fully realized version presented on the record.

The track highlights the band’s increasingly death metal driven approach while still retaining the blackened and thrashy foundation that defines their sound. It is one of the few songs on the album to feature a true chorus, yet it remains progressive in structure, moving through distinct musical chapters that each showcase a different facet of the band’s writing. The middle breakdown section emphasizes the group’s command of shifting rhythms and tight, precise playing, eventually building into a ripping guitar solo by Sam that captures his growth and confidence as a lead player.

Lyrically, “In Darkest Dreams” reflects an earlier era of MALEFIC. The words were initially written by Cory after Devin left the band, and later revised slightly by Aaron to fit the larger narrative arc of Impermanence. The imagery leans heavily into the horror influences that colored the band’s early years, telling the tale of a reaper-like figure whose presence drives the song’s bleak atmosphere. Although the lyrics occasionally veer into abstract territory, the band acknowledges that they maintain a certain cool, visceral quality that fits the track’s history. The chorus in particular remains one of the few lyrical elements to survive from the early days, believed to have been preserved even after the rest of the original lyrics were lost.

The rhythmic overhaul of the song represents an important part of its evolution. With a drum approach shaped by thrash, high speed technical metal and progressive rock, Aaron sought to avoid monotony by frequently shifting the pulse within the same riffs. The early versions of the song relied more heavily on ad-libbed vocal patterns and less structured drumming, so the updated arrangement brings a tighter and more intentional rhythmic feel. Even the chorus sparked debate during recording about whether it should remain upbeat for its entire duration, and the final version reflects a compromise that preserves the song’s energy while serving the tension and release of the overall arrangement.

MALEFIC’s history stretches back to 2007 when the original lineup first emerged in the Atlanta extreme metal scene. After a hiatus beginning in 2009, the band reconvened in 2015 and has moved forward at full speed ever since. Their sound blends technical precision, a tightly locked rhythm section and a keen sense of groove into a modern, aggressive take on melodic death metal that stands apart from their peers in the United States. The creation of Impermanence began in late 2018 and faced numerous challenges as lineup changes forced re-tracking, rewrites and complete remixes of material that had already been considered finished. Despite the setbacks, the band views the album as the culmination of years of dedication, refinement and persistence, and as a definitive statement of what MALEFIC represents.

Though they are set to release their very first full-length album, Impermanence, in 2025, MALEFIC boasts an impressive live performance history, having played shows with notable bands such as 1349, CRYPTA, and PROFANATICA. After a hiatus in 2009, the band eagerly picked back up where they left off and reformed with a new lineup. MALEFIC initially began work on Impermanence in 2018, taking their time to ensure that every detail accurately reflected their vision for their album. The band's hard work and dedication has culminated in a powerful debut, lovingly crafted by fans of nuanced, boundary-pushing music.

Ecce Shnak teams with famed DJ-producer Madison Mars on dance-ready 'Prayer On Love' remix

Art rockers Ecce Shnak have teamed up with world-famous DJ-producer Madison Mars on the club anthem 'Prayer On Love (Madison Mars Remix)'. A 360-degree transformation of the chilled original version of 'Prayer On Love', found on their 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP, this ecstatic dance version serves as a bridge towards their full-length debut album, 'Dandy Variances', slated for spring release.

Based in New York City, Ecce Shnak (pronounced Eh-kay sh-knock) is made up of David Roush (composer, bassist and one of two singers), Bella Komodromos(vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn (drums).

Known for their thrilling performances — a high-stakes auditory experience where fierce instrumental prowess and an element of playful chaos exist in perfect, precarious balance — they cleverly manage to serve up one sonic adrenaline shot after another.  Tossing the rulebooks out the window, Ecce Shnak has a talent for spinning serious subjects—the stuff of great rock tradition—into the same whirlwind as the wildest, most trivial footnotes of life, all delivered with blinding focus.

Madison Mars (aka Madis Sillamo) has a solid reputation as an electronic music producer, having created remixes for such artists as Pink, Sia, Armin Van Buuren, Shaggy, Robin Schulz, and even Sting. A recording artist with numerous sync licensing deals to his name, he has released music via top labels around the world, including Warner Music, Sony and Universal Music and earned a Double Platinum Record for his 'New Vibe Who Dis' album.

Ecce Shnak also recently released another electronic reworking of their original 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy' fashioned by German DJ-producer Eskei83. This re-envisioning — 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy (Kill Em Mix)' — is an invigorating adrenaline-filled hit that evokes imagery of sci-fi and action-thriller scenes from the Matrix and Bladerunner, the original’s math-metal guitar riff is transformed into a throbbing dubstep synth-bassline and its frenetic drums into a straightforward high-octane dance-beat.

In February 2025, Ecce Shnak released their debut EP 'Shadows Grow Fangs', which was recorded and produced by Jeff Lucci, mixed by Nicholas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Wild Nothing, The War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, The Weeknd, Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend).

Since then, Ecce Shnak has garnered ample press attention and airplay, released their live 'Backroom Sessions' EP, hosted a hot series of live shows in New York City, and toured the USA with platinum-selling legends Spacehog and EMF. Ecce Shnak also features on the EMF single 'LGBTQ+ Lover', an epic indie dance track that offers a safe space for the marginalized queer community, the video footage being filmed during their recent joint tour.

VISERION Announce New Single “Harrenhal” From Their Forthcoming Album Fire and Blood

Black metal quartet VISERION unveil their crushing new single “Harrenhal,” a fresh look into their forthcoming full-length album Fire and Blood, set for release on January 16th, 2026. This record marks the band’s first standalone album featuring their current four-piece lineup, a formation solidified in 2022 that has pushed their sonic identity to new extremes.

Drawing deep inspiration from George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones universe,Fire and Blood centers thematically on the legendary Targaryen dynasty, embracing their infamous house words as its title. Formed in Queens, NY in 2020, Viserion have since carved a reputation for crafting bleak, immersive soundscapes. With this release, the band elevates the sound they have been meticulously refining over the years while showcasing their evolution as musicians and storytellers.

“Harrenhal” embodies a mood of despair, anguish, and lingering dread, capturing the cursed legacy of one of Westeros’ most infamous strongholds. Its lyrics recount the brutal destruction of Lord Harren’s mighty fortress at the hands of Aegon the Conqueror and his dragon, an inferno that left only smoldering ruins and a legacy of misfortune for all who would dare inhabit them thereafter.

With “Harrenhal,” Viserion offer a powerful glimpse into the world of Fire and Blood, an album that promises sweeping scope, thematic depth, and the heaviest, most refined sound the band has unleashed to date.

About VISERION:
Located in Queens, NY, VISERION blend brutal and aggressive black metal with atmospheric and melodic passages in their own distinctive take on the genre. Storytelling is embedded in their musical creativity, highly influenced by the writings of George R.R. Martin and the World of Westeros. The band initially formed as a three-piece in 2020 by Ben Marvilli taking on bass and vocals, Matt Marvilli on drums and John Magnani performing guitars. Subsequently, in 2022, Magnani left and Ben Marvilli swapped out bass for guitar. Cris Valentine also joined on guitar and Tasso Diakov took on the bass. The debut album Natural Selection dropped in 2021, followed by a split EP release with TELOCH VOVIN titled The Iron Age of Kali Yuga in 2023. Now, Fire and Blood is set to emerge on January 16, 2026.
