Varials Share "The Hurt Chamber" Video

Philadelphia's VARIALS  Skyler Conder, vocals; Shane Lyons, guitar; Mike Foley, bass; Sean Rauchut, drums — re-entered the chat in a massively metallic way in 2025 by announcing their new album WHERE THE LIGHT LEAVES. The album will arrive on February 27 via Fearless Records. Pre-order it here.

They share the video for new single "The Hurt Chamber."

Watch it Below.

The song moves at a measured and deliberate pace, and it's one of the most melodic songs in the band's catalog. With this track, Varials, known for erecting impenetrable walls of sound and for trafficking in pure metallic fury, prove that heavier-than-granite music doesn't always have to mean fast. Heavy can also be slow and steady — and memorable. The beautifully eerie, keys-driven fade out could serve as the background music in the creepiest scene in your favorite psychological thriller.

"'The Hurt Chamber' is a song strictly about being addicted to a high that is inevitably difficult to break," says Conder. "Whether that be love, drugs, or a certain type of situation, you become blind to what's happening, all of the bad disappears because it always feels amazing. But it's doing nothing but harming you throughout every time you become close to it. The ache becomes a salvation of sorts. You enter the hurt chamber and you never want to leave."

Fun fact about the track — Conder cut his vocals in one take and on his first try. That's a rarity but the immediacy is felt in the song. And it just...worked. The band recalls, "We debated amongst ourselves on trying different ideas and melodies and adding/changing small things, but ultimately decided the original take was too good and shouldn't be messed with."

Sometimes it's best to leave things are they are.

Varials will hit the road on a headline tour this March, with Unity TX, Heavy // Hitter, and Boltcutter. All dates are below.

ABOUT VARIALS:
Varials deliver hardcore ferocity, monstrous breakdowns, and nu-metal groove with an adventurous atmosphere and unapologetic purpose. Born in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, Varials embody East Coast attitude and determination, pouring every ounce of struggle into their songs. Their fourth album, Where the Light Leaves, arrives with explosive energy and focus. Varials first established their place in the modern heavy landscape with Pain Again (2017) and In Darkness (2019). Tracks like "Romance," "Empire of Dirt," and "Anything to Numb" became anthems, blending metalcore strength with raw honesty that deeply resonated with audiences. Scars for You to Remember (2022) expanded that vision, further cementing their reputation as one of the most emotionally intense acts of the modern era. Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Dayseeker, The Plot In You), Where the Light Leaves signifies a new chapter. An often chaotic and experimental process—creating dozens of demos—resulted in 13 songs that capture Varials at their most powerful and creatively ambitious. The performances are deliberately raw, embracing imperfections to forge an immediate, human connection. Guttural heaviness paired with new melodic textures delivers a sound that is both punishing and expansive. As demonstrated on tours with Knocked Loose, Wage War, and Kublai Khan TX, among others, Varials are a fierce and formidable live band, and that energy is reflected in Where The Light Leaves.

Filth Return With New Single "Outta Pocket" + "Welcome to Shell Town" Out 3/6

Rising North Carolina heavy hitters FILTH are ushering in their most volatile chapter yet. The band is releasing their brand new single "Outta Pocket" , alongside the official pre-save launch for their upcoming EP, Welcome to Shell Town, due out March 6.

The EP's title is a nod to the band's hometown. explains guitarist David Gantt, who says, "Shell Town is us leaning deeper into what shaped us, the music, the environment, and the mindset that came out of growing up in Shelby. This EP is a reflection of where we're from and why Filth sounds the way it does."

New single "Outta Pocket" picks up right where Southern Hostility left off — pure hostility, zero restraint, and built for maximum impact in the pit. The track serves as the opening salvo for Welcome to Shell Town, an EP that promises to be FILTH's most focused, violent, and confident release to date.

To mark the new era, FILTH will also kick off their headline "Beasts Of The East" tour, bringing their chaos directly to fans with support from Blackwater Drowning, Autumn Lies Buried, Comawaves, and Jawjacked

GRAIN OF PAIN Announces New Album "Behind Us All"; Unleashes Video for Haunting First Single!

Finnish doom metal outfit GRAIN OF PAIN has announced the release of its new full-length album, Behind Us All, set to drop on March 27 via Noble Demon. To mark the occasion and offer a first glimpse into the record’s bleak yet emotionally resonant soundscape, the band has unveiled its first single today.

The track, titled "To Burn Inside", is now available on all major streaming platforms and arrives alongside a brand new music video, which can be watched below

"To Burn Inside" sees GRAIN OF PAIN leaning deep into their signature blend of doom-laden heaviness and powerful melodies. Featuring a striking guest solo by Pekka Olkkonen(Stam1na), the song explores themes of reflection and the clarity that often comes with age.

Mastermind Timo Solonen comments: "So many stones, so many hopes. We are very happy to have Pekka Olkkonen to feature on our first single and to play solo on our song. Song is about life choices we made to earlier in life to chase dreams which weren’t worth it in the end. When you grow older you will find what is most important in life and the struggle to leave old life behind is not always easy. But you can do it as it becomes clear in the end of the song".

Hailing from Finland, GRAIN OF PAIN delivers a powerful and emotionally charged take on doom/death metal. At the core of the band is Timo Solonen, who handles composition alongside growls and guitars. On bass and clean vocals is Lars Eikind (Before The Dawn), standing out with a prestigious Spellemannsprisen (Grammy) win in Norway.

Joining as session musicians are Juho Räihä (guitars, additional screams) and Juuso Raatikainen (drums), both of whom claimed a Finnish Grammy with Swallow the Sun in 2025. Drawing from a wide range of influences, GRAIN OF PAIN weaves dark atmospheres and powerful melodies into music that resonates long after the final note fades.

Following the signing with German metal specialist Noble Demon in April 2024 for their debut release ("The Moon Lights The Way"), GRAIN OF PAIN now raises the stakes with Behind Us All, their second studio album, set for release in March 2026.

Behind Us All was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Juho Räihä at SoundSpiral Audio. The cover artwork was created by Gogo Melone. The album will be released on March 27 via Noble Demon and is now available for pre-order HERE.

Of Virtue Confront Sacrifice & Self-Sabotage On "Death Of The Altar"

Michigan metalcore outfit, Of Virtue, have released their brand new single, "Death Of The Altar", via Arising Empire alongside a haunting new video. Teased across the band's socials in the lead-up to the release, the track arrives as Of Virtue's first new offering of 2026 and a vicious continuation of the world they build on their 2023 record, "OMEN", which racked up an impressive 65 million streams since its release. Fans can listen to the new single HERE and watch the brand new video Below.

Built on tight, searing riffs, gut-punching breakdowns, and a chorus that refuses to let go, "Death Of The Altar" leans into the intensity and emotional honest that have become Of Virtue's calling card. Co-written alongside Lee Albrecht (Bilmuri, The Devil Wears Prada, etc) and Evan McKeever (Starset, Koe Wetzel, etc), the track features the band's ongoing focus on addiction, mental health, and the stigma surrounding both, turning that internal fight into something loud, physical, and communal.

Directed by none other than Blackwolf Imaging and Levine Pictures, the "Death Of The Altar" music video pushes those themes into stark, ritualistic imagery that blurs the line between sacrifice and liberation. It sees the band confronting the weight of their own devotion, refusing to keep sacrificing themselves to old expectations and narratives.

Harnessing the potent fusion of powerful melodies and emotionally charged lyrics, Of Virtue maintain a steadfast commitment to authenticity, consistently redefining the genre while staying true to their artistic essence. Beloved across 35 countries and having performed at multiple Danny Wimmer festivals, Upheaval, Full Force, Summer Breeze, and Pulp Summer Slamamongst many others, it's no surprise that they've shared stages with bands such as Slipknot, Bad Omens, Nothing More, and Three Days Grace. Beyond their musical prowess, the metal powerhouse also serve as passionate mental health advocates on and off stage. Often seen using their platform to raise awareness and openly discuss these vital issues, Of Virtue have become a source of hope and inspiration for countless fans facing similar challenges.

Carrying forward the spirit of their 2023 record, "Omen", Of Virtue continue to champion vulnerability, community, and the belief that no one is defined solely by their worst decisions. With "Death Of The Altar" standing as the next chapter, the band further their evolution with a fearless, unflinching look at what it means to reclaim your life, even when it means burning down everything that once felt familiar.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Of Virtue news coming very soon.

The Polish collective are celebrating the release of Monochrome with a new video for the album’s third single. Slinking and pulsating, “Going Down” enters into a trance where descent isn’t a collapse but a passage toward resolve.

“This song is a hymn to strength, perseverance and unyielding will”, HÉR says.

By exploring the human nature described in Norse mythology, the musicians make a deep insight into the emotions embedded in its verses. They bring out the dark beauty of the North and its extremes: fire and ice, violence and tenderness, bravery and care, the brutality of war and the solace that peace brings, struggle and feast, the milky sweetness of honey and the salty tang of blood, love and hatred, birth and death, beginning and end, terror and awe…

Sestu hérna, sit here… sit here and listen, sit here and grow, sit here and drift away.

Brutal Planet Records Announce the Remastered Releases of APOSTLE Albums “White Metal” and “Chariots of Iron” on CD and Vinyl

Brutal Planet Records announces that two long-awaited titles from Florida Christian metal pioneers Apostle are finally getting the deluxe reissue treatment — and both are available now for pre-order at discounted prices exclusively at boonesoverstock.com.

⚔️ White Metal (1985) — available for the first time ever on CD and Vinyl, including the rare 1984 demo as bonus tracks
⚔️ Chariots of Iron (1987) — the underground classic finally receiving its first official CD release

Both titles are fully remastered by Rob Colwell, feature expanded packaging with archival notes and rare photos, and are part of the Metal Icon Series. Quantities are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

In the early 1980s, when Christian metal was still finding its footing, Apostle emerged from Jacksonville, Florida, led by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Matt Harding (1957–2012). What began as a small local group with a deep spiritual calling soon became one of the most dedicated and prolific underground acts in Christian metal. Formed in 1983, Apostle combined fiery, melodic metal with an unwavering devotion to sharing the message of Jesus Christ.

From the start, Apostle’s ministry reached beyond the church walls. As drummer Bill Box recalled, the band would play “anywhere and everywhere—clubs, reformatories, outdoor parks, churches, coffee houses, and skating rinks.” Their mission was to take the gospel wherever people would listen. Bassist Dave Lawson summarized their purpose simply: “What you have to do is sell out to Jesus and let Him change your life. We’ve tried to stay straight to the Bible and sing songs that glorify God.”

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Apostle toured widely across the South and Midwest, often sharing stages with national Christian rock and metal acts such as Whitecross, Bride, and Rez Band. In 1989, Apostle recorded with Glenn Kaiser (Rez Band/JPUSA) in Chicago—one of the scene’s most respected figures—resulting in their most polished and spiritually intense album. Harding’s soaring guitar work, layered harmonies, and heartfelt conviction set Apostle apart as a band unafraid to merge heavy music with deep faith.

Despite their talent and steady output, Apostle’s recordings were distributed only in small cassette runs, making them treasured finds among collectors. Their catalog remained largely unheard outside underground tape-trading circles. These official Retroactive Records reissues finally make that catalog accessible on both CD and vinyl for the first time—all beautifully remastered by Rob Colwell and accompanied by restored artwork and historical notes.

One exception, Prepare to Meet God, did receive a limited CD release years ago but quickly became nearly impossible to find. Its inclusion alongside the earlier Apostle material—and Matt Harding’s solo project Steel Armada—completes the long-overdue restoration of his musical legacy.

Brutal Planet Records had been trying to obtain the rights to reissue Apostle’s music for nearly 30 years. After Matt Harding’s passing in 2012, they continued searching for any contact that could lead to his family or former bandmates—years filled with dead ends and unanswered messages. Eventually, they reached out to the Christian Rock & Metal Facebook group, asking its 80,000 members for help. Chris Rozier (writer for Heaven’s Metal Magazine) responded and connected them with Larry Motes, one of Apostle’s drummers. Larry then contacted Jacob Harding, Matt’s son, and through that connection, this long-awaited reissue campaign was finally set in motion.

Previously available only as a flimsy, low-quality cardboard-sleeve promo that barely surfaced in the collector world, Unburied has long been considered nearly impossible to obtain. This Brutal Planet Records edition finally gives these unearthed horrors a proper home in a jewel case with a 12-page lyric booklet, remastered by Rob Colwell and officially welcomed into the Metal Icon Series.

ARCHERS have emerged out of forgotten corners of the country, resonating with fans worldwide through sheer determination and unapologetic honesty. The Wisconsin-bred trio has quietly carved a path of its own, fueled by a hybrid of high-octane, pit-splitting metalcore and melodies spiked with pop precision. For their first half-decade together, the band fought to be heard, independently dropping 2015's Cuts & Bruises and tracks like "The Hills." They picked up momentum with "Bleed For This" and "Close To Me," as well as a plethora of shows. Stuck at home throughout 2020, "blackmarketmonkeymagic" cracked 1 million Spotify streams and powered the New Normal EP. Despite the distance, the band made a lasting connection by livestreaming on social media at least once per week, pulling back the curtain on rehearsals, answering fan questions, hosting merch drops, and even simply hanging out. This engagement gave rise to what has become known as the "ARCHERS Assemble Super Soft Posting Group," representing over 2,500-strong of their faithful. 2024's All That I Have Left EP spawned the likes of "Drag Me Out," "Stay This Sober," and "Bitter" —which eclipsed 10 million-plus streams. Beyond hitting the road with Asking Alexandria, From Ashes to New, and Magnolia Park, they packed houses on both sides of the pond as a headliner. Following 2025's Temporary High EP, the band decamped to Los Angeles with producer Erik Ron and jumped into the next sonic era. Now, ARCHERS take flight with a series of 2026 singles and their forthcoming debut for Fearless Records.

BURIAL PATH Unveil New Single “Between Soil and Sun,” Introducing Vocalist Maya Pobst

Entering a new era of sound and identity, BURIAL PATH, one of the most electrifying voices in the deathcore underground, has released their latest single, “Between Soil and Sun.” The track marks a pivotal new chapter for the band and serves as the first release to feature new vocalist Maya Pobst.

A meditation on transmutation, grief, and the violence of becoming, "Between Soil and Sun" explores the tension between decay and rebirth, where identity is stripped down, interrogated, and reforged. Crushing instrumentation collides with visceral lyricism, capturing the turmoil of confronting conformity, internalized stigma, and the cost of self-realization.

Accompanied by a stark lyric video, "Between Soil and Sun" traces the threshold between burial and rebirth, where flesh remembers the earth and the spirit strains toward light. Written in the aftermath of fracture, the song confronts abandonment, decay, and the slow alchemy of self-reclamation.

What is buried does not remain silent.
What reaches for the sun is forever changed.

With this release, BURIAL PATH sharpen their focus and commit fully to a vision rooted in authenticity, resistance, and transformation.

REVERYA Channel Raw Vulnerability and Modern Pressure on New Single "Envy"

Modern metal trio REVERYA return with their latest single, "Envy," a powerful and emotionally charged track that highlights the band’s evolving sound and lyrical depth. Known for blending melody, atmosphere, and crushing heaviness, the Tampa based group continues to carve out a distinct voice in the modern metal scene.

"Envy" explores the psychological weight of comparison, self image, and the internal struggle of never feeling like enough. Through vivid and unfiltered lyricism, the song confronts themes of reflection, obsession, and the pressure of perceived perfection. The emotional intensity of the words is matched by dynamic shifts in the music, moving between vulnerable atmospheric passages and explosive hard hitting sections.

Musically, the single showcases REVERYA’s signature fusion of soaring vocals, searing guitar work, driving bass, and relentless drums. Layers of ambience add depth and texture, creating an immersive soundscape that mirrors the emotional tension at the heart of the track. "Envy" stands as one of the band’s most personal and resonant releases to date.

About REVERYA:

Emerging from the vibrant Tampa metal scene, REVERYA has built a reputation for high energy live performances and emotionally driven songwriting. The three piece band first gained attention with their debut EP Melinoe, followed by their first full length album Affliction In Bloom, released in October 2024. Their music draws from life’s most intense emotional experiences, focusing on resilience, empowerment, and redemption.

Formed in 2022, the band consists of Nadine on vocals and keys, Travis on guitars, and Kaleb on drums. Together they create a powerful blend of atmospheric textures, groove driven riffs, and emotionally charged vocals that delivers a genre bending and immersive sound.

Drawing sonic inspiration from SPIRITBOX, JINJER, PERIPHERY, INVENT ANIMATE, and EVANESCENCE, REVERYA has carved a distinct space for themselves through a fusion of modern metal, ethereal soundscapes, and haunting melodies. Their lyrics explore surreal dream states, emotional depth, and the connection between nature and the human psyche.

Their debut EP Melinoe introduced the band’s affinity for myth and layered meaning, while their 2024 full length album Affliction In Bloom pushed their artistry to new heights. Accompanied by visually striking music videos for "Wisteria" and "Dahlia," the band has continued to build a reputation for immersive storytelling across both audio and visual mediums.

Front woman Nadine has also made an impact outside the band, featuring on tracks such as "A Living Burden" by HOLLOWBROOK and "Disconnect" by SPIRITUAL CHAOS, further showcasing her vocal versatility and presence within the heavy music community.

With a growing fanbase and an evolving sound that balances crushing heaviness with cinematic atmosphere, REVERYA continues to establish themselves as one of the most compelling emerging voices in modern progressive metal.

Independent black metal band PROFANE ELEGY have released the official video for "Herezjarcha", the towering title track from their newly released full-length album of the same name. The song stands as the conceptual and emotional core of the record, a sweeping descent into vision, madness, and spiritual rebellion.

"Herezjarcha" tells the story of a man who experiences a transformative vision and emerges as the patriarch of a new heresy. Through deliberate immersion in darkness, he becomes one with it, his mind opening to hidden and forbidden truths. The track unfolds like a ritual in motion, blending cinematic orchestration, shifting musical movements, and whispered incantations into a narrative that feels both intimate and apocalyptic.

The newly released video brings that transformation to life, visually capturing the protagonist’s psychological unraveling and spiritual metamorphosis. Stark imagery, shadow-soaked environments, and symbolic storytelling mirror the song’s themes of revelation through corruption and enlightenment through descent.

Released independently , Herezjarcha marks a bold evolution for PROFANE ELEGY following their 2023 debut When All Is Nothing, which drew praise for fusing blackened aggression with doom-heavy atmosphere. On this new record, the band expands their sound in every direction, heavier, more dynamic, more refined, and deeply introspective.

The album is built on stark contrasts between cosmic vastness and personal collapse, defiance and decay, melody and obliteration.

It opens with "Exeunt Omnes", a theatrically orchestrated meditation on fate and mortality, before plunging into the existential storm of "Haunted". The defiant "I AM" transforms a biblical declaration into an anthem of human rebellion, while "As My Heart Turns to Ash" slows into a doom-laden lament of emotional collapse and introduces haunting clean vocal passages.

Mid-album, "Immutable" confronts inherited darkness and the inescapable aspects of identity, and "And Then We Are Gone" strips everything down to a funeral-paced meditation on impermanence. The journey culminates in the conceptual centerpiece "Herezjarcha" before closing with "The Accuser", a searing finale that reimagines judgment itself as hypocrisy worthy of condemnation.

Produced by J Gulick and mixed and mastered by Kevin Antreassian at Backroom Studios, Herezjarcha rejects genre boundaries in favor of vision. Atmospheric black metal collides with doom weight, death metal precision, orchestration, and clean vocal textures, all in service of lyrically rich, philosophical, and spiritually confrontational themes.

Out Now From Red Sands

Mexico City’s RED SANDS return with Evocations, a six-track release that captures more than a decade of evolution in a single statement. Formed in 2012 and reassembled in 2022, the group of Jonathan Corral, Daniel Novelo, Eric Novelo, Juan Carlos León, and Ángel Asiain has built a sound rooted in melody, structure, and emotion. Their music blends the strength of classic heavy metal with the depth of symphonic and gothic traditions, giving rise to what they call melodic metal.

The artwork for Evocations, designed by vocalist and visual artist Jona Corral, mirrors the album’s theme. It depicts a creature made from fragments of memory, a symbol of time, loss, and unfinished creation. The image and the music share the same language of impermanence.

Evocations is not a debut in the conventional sense but a culmination. It gathers songs written across different eras and unites them under one idea: that death and remembrance shape art more profoundly than survival alone. In its layers of melody, rhythm, and emotion, RED SANDS find a balance between past and present, creating music that listens as much as it speaks.

RED SANDS is:

  • Jonathan “Jona” Corral – Vocals

  • Daniel Novelo – Rhythm & Lead Guitar

  • Eric Novelo – Bass

  • Juan Carlos “CJ” León – Piano & Keyboards

  • Ángel Asiain – Drums

Jamey Johnson Shares "More Of What Matters" to Him in Newest Release

Jamey Johnson releases “More Of What Matters,” a powerful and poetic reminder of what’s truly important in life, today, Jan. 30. Listen to “More Of What Matters” below.

Produced by The Kent Hardly Playboys, Johnson co-wrote the song in 2007 with Keith Follese and Jon Stone and had been saving it for just the right moment. That moment is now, and Johnson’s vocal delivery reflects his fresh insights from maturity, life experience and wisdom.

“Back then, I wrote that from the perspective of somebody who needed to find more things that matter,” Johnson says. “Looking back on a perspective of 20 years down the road, that guy was naive and didn’t know the gravity of what he was writing. At this age, it hits home. It’s time.

“(The Mavericks’) Raul Malo was a dear friend and passed away at 60,” he says. “There’s a clock ticking on my life too, and I don’t know when it will be over. I’ve got to reset my priorities and do what is important to me or I will be a life unlived. I don’t want to be too busy and distracted on the road to forget the things that really matter.”

“At that time, it was an awareness of what happens in our business,” Johnson says. “Those lines came to me, Keith and Jon in that writing room in a very honest way. That was exactly where I was at the time, looking around and recognizing, man, you can chase that star forever and never catch anything that was worth a dime.”

This is a message Johnson now heeds in his own life. He spent the last two decades of his life on tour, taking him away from his home and family much of the year. He married attorney Brittney Eakins in 2025 and remains determined to keep his priorities in check.

“Now there’s a big part of me that wants to come home and focus on that for a while. I’m still going to tour, but I’m not going to do it so much, and not let it take me as much from home.”

Johnson originally recorded the song in 2007 and intended on including it on his critically acclaimed 2008 album called That Lonesome Song, which was certified 2x-platinum.

“I’m not really sure why I didn’t, but I’m glad now that I didn’t so that I still have it to release today,” says Johnson, who re-recorded a new version of the song for this release. “But I guess at the time I was focusing on something else.

Lonesome Song and Guitar Song both did really well. I’m not sure that song would’ve fit either album at the time, as far as its content and message. It really fits now for sure.”

This marks the start of a new year full of new music from Johnson, who joins Kris Kristofferson as the only two writers to have won both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Association Song of the Year Award twice in the same year, with Johnson winning for “In Color” and “Give It Away.”

This continues his collaboration with Warner Records Nashville and his own Big Gassed Records, which began with Midnight Gasoline in 2024. That album, his first new album of solo material in 14 years, was ranked No. 4 on Billboard’s list of Top Country Albums of 2024.

Since releasing Midnight Gasoline, Johnson has written and recorded more than 50 songs at the Cash Cabin studios in Hendersonville, Tenn. While he has performed a few of these new songs during his tour, he will release many recorded versions throughout this year.

“I’ve been hearing people say for the longest time, ‘I wish you’d put out new music,’” he says. “Well, here goes!”

JENNA PAULETTE RELEASES HORSEBACK (DELUXE)

Leo33 rising singer/songwriter Jenna Paulette arrives today with her 20-track Horseback (Deluxe) album, featuring three previously unreleased songs, including a duet rendition of “The Dirt” with John Morgan. Additionally, “The Dirt” will be featured on SiriusXM’s Highway On The Horizon beginning today. Listen to it and the full Horseback (Deluxe) album Below

Produced by Will Bundy, Horseback (Deluxe) expands on the original Horseback album, released in 2024, adding depth with a glimpse into Paulette’s live show with covers of Tim McGraw’s “Cowboy In Me” and Tanya Tucker’s “Texas (When I Die),” recorded live.

“I’m excited to release the deluxe version of Horseback featuring new versions of songs on the original record — some turning into duet versions with artists and friends I admire so much, as well as a few live versions of songs I love to cover,” shares Paulette. “The album originally came out just two weeks before my daughter was born, and so much life has happened since then. Revisiting these songs now makes this chapter even more meaningful.

“One of those duets is with my dear friend John Morgan,” she adds. “I met him through our friend Jeb Gipson and before we both had record deals, he played a little guitar for me. He’s always been one of the best pickers and singers in town. Our version of ‘The Dirt’ feels complete with him on it.”

Horseback (Deluxe) contains all 13 tracks off the original album, which was released in 2024 and has already amassed 26 million streams to date. Starting with “Wild Is Her Favorite Color,” celebrating the freedom that comes with living authentically, before delving into “3 Kings,” a tip of her hat to the three kings that have influenced her lifestyle, “King George, King Ranch, King James.”

The album intertwines upbeat tracks, including previously released “Outside” and “Run The Damn Ball,” harkening back to the values of grit and hard work that Paulette has come to embody, and empowering “Darlin’,” which signals the redemption of love lost and found again. Additionally, “Steady,” which honors strength in consistency and showing up, is resonating with fans as the song breaks into the top 15 at Texas radio.

In addition to “The Dirt” with John Morgan, Paulette also finds a new spin on tracks in her duets with longtime friends and collaborators on “Chasin’ Whiskey” and “The Prophet (Grandaddy’s Song);” featuring Jake Worthington and Ashley McBryde, respectively.

And, after learning the ropes of navigating a career and newfound motherhood in 2025, Paulette recently jumped Back In The Saddle with a 26-date tour in 2026, with more shows to come.

While Paulette took a step back from touring in 2025, her business endeavors continued to expand with the launch of her Sunrise and Sunset Boots collection with Justin Boots, as well as a new Fall collection of her women’s rangewear line with Ely Cattleman, CowboyGirl. MØL CELEBRATE ALBUM RELEASE WITH NEW SINGLE/VIDEO 'HUD' DREAMCRUSH OUT NOW

Danish alt-metal luminists MØL have released their third studio album DREAMCRUSH via Nuclear Blast Records and to celebrate have unveiled new single/video, 'Hud'

The album follows a striking sequence of singles from the brooding pull of 'Garlandand the urgent drive of 'Young' to the cathartic force of 'CRUSH', culminating today in the release of 'Hud', an immersive, shadow tinged track that plunges listeners into the record’s tense otherworldly atmosphere.
Across DREAMCRUSH, MØL sharpen their signature fusion of crushing heaviness and ethereal textures, delivering a sound that is at once unrelenting and eerily luminous.

Check out the video for ‘Hud’ below:

Order and listen to DREAMCRUSH here: https://moel.bfan.link/dreamcrush

Following the critically acclaimed Jord (2019) and Diorama (2021), MØL’s latest opus, DREAMCRUSH, sees the band's sound continue to evolve as they embrace new horizons, as a collective and as individuals. Drawing on influences from My Bloody ValentineCocteau Twins and Smashing Pumpkins, the album delves into recurring themes of belonging, resilience and finding a sense of home within oneself. By weaving melody into even their sharpest, most jagged moments, the band emerge with their most soul-stirring work to date.

DREAMCRUSH explores the precarious balance between hope and burden: dreams can sustain you, give you something to believe in - but the weight of expectation, the burden of reality can also mean that such dreams can become oppressive; they can just as easily shatter you. In amongst clouds of unfathomable loss and grief, the album offers rays of almost unbearable hope - a reminder that we can keep on dreaming despite ourselves.

MØL's latest offering delivers a record that is as merciless as it is tender, one that challenges, uplifts and lingers, a reminder that even in the heaviest darkness, there is a light worth chasing.

MØL now take DREAMCRUSH across Europe and the UK this February with support from Tayne and Cold Night For Alligators, as the band continue to push deeper into their own atmospheric and uncharted creative world both on record and through their live shows.

Tickets are available here: https://ffm.live/moeldk-tour

MØL are:

Holger Rumph Frost - bass

"BEING THE DEMON, THE STARCHILD, THE SPACE CADET, AND THE CAT SORT OF TURNED US INTO SUPERHEROES IN FRONT OF THE AUDIENCE."

The Catman Peter Criss spoke exclusively and at length to Rock Candy Magazine about life before, with and after KISS. During a wide-ranging and revealing interview the impressive musician unwrapped a large amount of subjects. Including how he joined the band that would become 'The Hottest Band In The World'.

"I put an ad in a local paper [after his previous bands Chelsea and Lips were over] and that's when Gene Simmons called. He asked me... 'Are you tall?, 'Are you good-looking?', 'Do you have long hair?', 'Are you willing to wear a dress and high heels?', 'Are you willing to wear lipstick?' I couldn't believe what he was asking me, but those questions fascinated me. I said to my wife at the time, 'I've got to meet this guy'. We had been to London for our honeymoon not that long before and I'd found some really cool clothes there. So when I went down to Electric Lady Studios in New York to meet Gene and Paul for the first time I was really dolled up... Gene told me later that day he thought I was a rock star going into the studio to make an album."

When Criss joined Simmons and Stanley the band played together for a little while as a three-piece, but the man who would become a close friend soon entered the picture.

"We put an ad in a local paper looking for a lead guitarist. We auditioned quite a few players before Ace, but he really made an entrance wearing a motorcycle jacket and different coloured sneakers. There was some other guy already playing, but Ace didn't care. He walked right by the guy, plugged in, and started playing himself. And we all turned around, looked at one another, and went 'Holy sh*t!'. He was in straight away."

KISS deciding to wear make-up was influenced by glam rock and shock rocker Alice Cooper but The Beatles were also part of the thought process they had.

"John, Paul, George and Ringo all had their own fans, as well as people who loved the whole band. We wanted the same thing... so we took the concept they developed and made it more theatrical. We said, 'Let's start trying to apply make-up and see what's going on.' So we bought this really cheap clown-white make-up - even shoe polish at first, I think - and started putting it on for rehearsals in this real sh*tty loft with no heating. It was so cold we had to wear coats all the time, but that's were we experimented with our different looks."

But once the band became famous the make-up had a frustrating by-product when the general public didn't know what they actually looked like.

"Once we started to make it big, we started wanting to be recognised, sign autographs and have kids outside hotels screaming for us. I'd go to clubs in New York and would tell the guy on the door that I was Peter Criss from KISS. They'd go, 'Yeah, right'. In the end I started taking my driving license and other ID out with me to prove that I really was Peter Criss. It was pretty funny how the make-up thing kind of backfired."

The recent Kennedy Center honors ceremony for KISS, last December, was a chance for the original band to be together again but sadly Ace Frehley passed away just a few weeks earlier, on October 16th, something Peter found very hard to cope with.

"It was tough for me because Ace wasn't there. He'd been very excited about going there. He said, 'Pete, I'm really looking forward to this.' So not having him next to me was really hard... I cried a lot of times that day, broke down actually. I missed Ace and it wasn't the same... It was great to get the award, But I was grieving so much that my heart hurt a lot."

Peter released a new solo album a few weeks ago and he feels motivated and keen to show the world he's a fit, healthy and productive musician.

"I haven't done drugs for 42 years, and I gave up drinking 30 years ago, I'm too old for that sh*t! So what you see now is the real Peter Criss. And you know what? I'm definitely not a drug addict. I'm a drum addict!"

Read the rest of the exclusive mega interview with Peter Criss, as well as features on Megadeth, Paul Gilbert, Alex Skolnick of Testament, Francis Rossi of Status Quo, Phil Collen of Def Leppard talking about his previous band Girl, a reappraisal of Aerosmith's 'Pump' album and Ian Anderson talking about the classic Jethro Tull 'Aqualung' album, Jason McMaster of Dangerous Toys... and much more fascinating content in Issue 54 of Rock Candy Magazine.

PRISON CITY BRIGADE Ignite a Riot of Sound with Explosive New Single “Do You Hear The People Scream”

The alarms are ringing, the amps are screaming, and PRISON CITY BRIGADE are kicking the doors off complacency with their blistering new punk anthem, “Do You Hear The People Scream.” Fast, furious, and unapologetically loud, the new track is a battle cry for the unheard and a soundtrack for the fed up.

Built on breakneck rhythms, razor-wire guitars, and gang-shout choruses meant to be yelled back from the pit, “Do You Hear The People Scream”captures the raw nerve of modern unrest and channels it into pure punk fury. This is not background music — it’s confrontation set to distortion.

ABOUT THE SONG:

This track kicks the door down and turns into a full-on rallying cry. “Do You Hear the People Scream?” surges with raw energy—loud, defiant, and impossible to ignore. Every chord feels clenched-fist urgent, built for packed rooms and screaming amps. It doesn’t ask you to listen, it dares you not to shout along. Loud, unapologetic, and electric, this song feels like the start of something bigger. Consider this a call to action as PRISON CITY BRIGADE moves into their thirteenth year and evolves once again.

PRISON CITY BRIGADE have carved their reputation on urgency and authenticity — no gloss, no gimmicks, no compromise. Their sound blends street-level punk grit with hardcore energy and chant-ready hooks, delivering songs that hit like headlines and linger like scars. The new single pushes that identity even further, pairing relentless drive with a message that demands attention.

Lyrically, the track taps into social pressure, public frustration, and collective voice — turning tension into momentum and noise into unity. It’s the sound of frustration refusing to stay quiet and a reminder that volume is power when truth is behind it.
