The Apocalypse Is Here: Satellite Citi Drop New Single ft. Ray Hawthorne

Los Angeles-based hard rock duo, Satellite Citi, have today returned with their latest single, "Give Me Apocalypse" and they've brought pop punk disruptor, Ray Hawthorne with them. Driven by heavy riffs and searing emotion, the track reflects Satellite Citi's ability to channel real-life struggles into powerful anthems, serving as an invitation to confront the end as the beginning of something new. Fans can watch the brand new video for "Give Me Apocalypse" ft. Ray Hawthorne BELOW.

Speaking on the inspiration behind today's single release, Satellite Citi share:

"We wrote “Give Me Apocalypse” during a time when everything felt out of our control. It’s about the idea that sometimes the world has to burn around you before you can let go of fear and face reality.

It’s even more special to us, because we co-wrote this with Neil Sanderson of Three Days Grace and the very badass Ray Hawthorne, who also delivered some absolutely killer guest vocals. Massive thanks to them, as well as Kodeblooded for producing and Joe Rickard for mixing/mastering this one. We hope everyone loves the track as much as we do.”

Renowned for his work in North Kingsley, the acclaimed project alongside Shavo Odadjian of System of a DownHawthorne initially captured hearts as the Heartbreak Hero with his inaugural solo release "Heartbreak Feels Good in a Place Like This". Building on his solo work, his debut record "Ray Hawthorne Sucks" further cemented his status as a bold new voice in pop punk, quickly amassing a devoted following and over 15 million streams across all streaming platforms for his magnetic charm and razor-sharp wit.

Satellite Citi have been steadily building momentum, with over 1.5 million Spotify streams, previous single “Anxious Hearts” featured on KROQ’s Locals Only, latest single "Triggers" ft. Love Ghost featured on Good Day LA, and a standout performance for Guitar Center x Jam in the Van — watch it HERE. With no plans of slowing down, the band will be releasing a new single every eight weeks, collaborating with a diverse lineup of producers across Los Angeles.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Satellite Citi and Ray Hawthorne news coming very soon.

ABOUT RAY HAWTHORNE

Do you remember that episode of Degrassi where Ashley really wants Craig to tell her he loves her, but Craig gets all panicked and can’t tell her that he does? It causes so much drama in their relationship. She begins to question her feelings for him and because of that, he becomes seemingly unsure of his feelings for her. So, in an effort to quell the bad vibes, Craig writes a song that includes lyrics IMPLICITLY AND EXPLICITLY stating that he loves her. (Total banger by the way, the only song of his I like better is the one he sings at the battle of the bands after the two inevitably break up, it’s also about Ashley. I believe it’s called ‘What I Know’) Anyway, Craig was only able to admit he loved Ashley in song form, but you as the viewer are left wondering ‘Does he really love her, or was this just his solution to end the drama?’ Or, ’Is this truly the only way he can express himself because he’s kind of nervous about speaking his true feelings outside of the structured environment of a song?’. I tend to believe it’s a mixture of both. So what I’m trying to say is, this collection of songs is kind of like that. I always feel like I have so much to say but often feel a bit too vulnerable when discussing my actual feelings. So for the majority of my life, I’ve just written them into songs instead. These songs can be quite vulnerable even if they seem silly at times. So now you’re left to wonder... am I telling the truth or just trying to get rid of Ashley’s bad vibes?

"Today is a milestone in Green Carnation's history, as we're now finally able to share the first part of A Dark Poemwith the world", says the band's vocalist Kjetil Nordhus. "The incredible amount of work behind this album, and the time it took to finish it on the level we wanted, makes it even sweeter to finally be here. This is indeed a proud moment for Green Carnation. We are looking forward to the journey ahead".

Green Carnation will perform all of A Dark Poem live in their hometown of Kristiansand, Norway on September 12, 2026. During this once-in-a-lifetime 3-hour performance, the band will perform all three parts of their epic album trilogy in full, one after another, alongside some very special guests and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra.

No matter how long or where the journey has taken them, Green Carnation have always sought to climb the highest mountains. While founded by Emperor's former bassist Tchort in the early '90s, the Norwegians quickly blazed their own trail through fields of symphonic doom, hard rock, acoustic plucking and progressive metal. The idea for an album trilogy stems back to the band's very first opus, Light of Day, Day of Darkness, though the inspiration for A Dark Poem dates back even further to Arthur Rimbaud's 1870 poem "Ophelia".

"We like to purse things that are extremely ambitious", says Nordhus. "Creating a trilogy of albums felt like it might be just out of our reach, which is what made us want to see if we could do it".

Though only the beginning of the band's latest epic journey, The Shores of Melancholia pulls a page from across Green Carnation's storied 25-year discography. The album's opening one-two punch landed a direct hit during the band's set yesterday at ProgPower USA. "As Silence Took You" opens its sails with majestic, billowing leads before "In Your Paradise" chugs full steam ahead after the clarion call of a flute. "It makes you want to bang your head a little", Nordhus says with a pleased smile. "I think melancholia suits Green Carnation very well".

While navigated with the band’s familiar mastery, the view from The Shores of Melancholia is no palatial retreat. "The album reflects the troubled relationship between our personal lives and the external world", Nordhus explains. "It's about losing faith in the world we've come to know and how that leads to an inner dystopia". Judgement day appears around every corner, steering them from the title track’s anxious war-torn tide to the Floydian whirlpools of paranoia that drench "Me, My Enemy". The dark and stormy "The Slave That You Are" even claws back to Green Carnation's budding days in extreme metal thanks to the blackened howl of Enslaved's Grutle Kjellson.

A lesson learned, now bridges burn”,  Nordhus cries out with impassioned cleans, as if tied to the mast during the album's bright and blazing closer "Too Close to the Flame".

On A Dark Poem, Part I: The Shores of Melancholia, Green Carnation set sail on an epic journey into a dark night of the soul.

BATTLE BEAST - unveil brand-new single "Angel of Midnight"

Finland’s power metal force BATTLE BEAST present their fourth single, 'Angel Of Midnight', taken from their highly anticipated upcoming album Steelbound, due for release on October 17th, 2025. The single arrives with a brand-new, visually striking music video.

Built on a catchy hard rock riff, bouncing synths, and the soaring, powerful vocals of Noora Louhimo, 'Angel Of Midnight' once again demonstrates BATTLE BEAST’s mastery in blending infectious hooks with heavy, high-energy metal — a sound that makes you want to dance and headbang all at once.

With Steelbound, BATTLE BEAST continue to refine their unmistakable style, delivering a collection of tracks that balance anthemic power, melodic accessibility, and unrelenting heaviness.

Songwriter and bassist Eero Sipilä comments:

"I really had an internal battle with writing this one. We’re a heavy metal band. Will we be burned at the stake, for making a hard rock tune with romantic notions?
Then it hit me: We’re Battle Beast—we can do whatever the hell we want.

‘Midnight’ nods deeply to Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Whitesnake—all the greats—and makes no qualms about it. So let the feeling carry you, and crank it like it’s 1987."

The tour will run through mid-December, featuring DOMINUM as special guests and Swedish power metal force MAJESTICA as openers.

SUPREME MYSTIC - Kala Rupa

In the industrial belly of Detroit, where machine noise and rebellion pulse in equal measure, a new sound has emerged. It is raw and searing, but it carries something older than anger and louder than distortion. That sound is SUPREME MYSTIC, and their debut album Kala Rupa is a declaration of identity, purpose, and transformation.

The band is led by Chino Noir, the reborn moniker of Mike Couls, a name well-known to the hardcore underground. From playing clubs at thirteen to signing with a major label in his early twenties, Couls carved a path through chaos with a bass in his hands and the kind of presence that stages remember. He was part of some of the most notorious and revered bands in heavy music. He toured the world with COLD AS LIFE, SWORN ENEMY, MERAUDER, TERROR and the CRO-MAGS, sharing bills with legends and surviving battles on and off stage. But none of those bands carried his voice the way SUPREME MYSTIC does now.

Kala Rupa, meaning “the form of time” in Sanskrit, is more than a record. It is a mirror. It looks directly into life, death, karma, illusion, and the struggle for inner evolution. Each song is a piece of a larger journey, built on decades of lived experience. This is not a genre experiment or a side project. It is the first time Couls has stepped fully into the front, not just as a musician but as a messenger.

The album pulls from stoner rock, post-hardcore, sludge, grunge, and doom, but it defies categorization. It is heavy, often brutally so, but not just for the sake of power. Beneath the layers of distortion, the music is rooted in spiritual philosophy and ancient Vedic wisdom. These are songs of confrontation and transcendence, guided by hard-earned insight and a desire to rise above the trappings of material and emotional decay.

From the opening of “Stealing Beauty,” the record cuts with honesty and defiance. It speaks to betrayal and envy in a world that feeds on appearances and weakness. “Halo of Vultures” takes aim at those who circle with bad intentions, while “Colorblind” addresses the weaponization of ignorance and the spiritual sickness of a divided world. “Transmigration of the Soul” and the title track “Kala Rupa” lift the listener into the metaphysical, exploring the unseen journey of the self and the truth that time is not an enemy, but a teacher.

Couls is joined by a powerhouse of Detroit veterans and new energy. Drummer Jeff Shankin brings decades of heavy groove and thunder, having played in cornerstone Detroit acts like Universal Stomp and Earthmover. Alfredo Riojas, a Berklee-trained guitarist known across Detroit for his technical brilliance and soulful attack, adds a precise and expressive voice. Luis Ulloa, a young keyboardist from Honduras with a deep love for black metal and spiritual music, brings harmonic color and atmosphere. Together, they build a wall of sound that can level a room or lift an audience into something otherworldly.

What sets SUPREME MYSTC apart is intention. This band is not chasing nostalgia. It is not paying tribute to a scene. It is rooted in Krishna Consciousness, influenced by the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and carries lyrics that often include Sanskrit mantras and direct references to sacred texts. This is not metal as fashion or outrage. This is music as inner weapon. The goal is not destruction, but liberation.

Still, nothing here is soft or sanitized. SUPREME MYSTIC comes from the grit of Detroit and carries the weight of its history. That includes the tragedies, the fights, and the resilience that shaped Couls’ path. The murder of his father in the infamous Rouge Rampage, the death of COLD AS LIFE’s original frontman, the wounds from the CRO-MAGS incident, and the long road of pain that led to healing are not erased in this new project. They are integrated. The past has not been forgotten. It has been transformed into fuel.

Even in its heaviest moments, Kala Rupa offers a sense of hope. It invites listeners not just to rage but to awaken. This is music for those who have seen the edge, survived, and returned changed. It is not about escaping pain. It is about turning toward it with clear eyes and an open heart This is music built on scars, faith, rhythm, and resolve.

About SUPREME MYSTIC:

SUPREME MYSTIC is a spiritually charged heavy rock band from Detroit, Michigan, fusing the grit of hardcore and metal with the depth of Vedic philosophy. Founded in 2023 by frontman and bassist Chino Noir (the evolved moniker of Mike Couls, known for his work with COLD AS LIFE, SWORN ENEMY, MERAUDER, and CRO-MAGS), the band draws from a lifetime of musical warfare and personal transformation. Their sound, described as Mo-Metal and DefRoc, merges elements of post-hardcore, stoner rock, grunge, doom, and groove metal with a message rooted in spiritual evolution, esoteric themes, and inner revolution.

Joined by drummer Jeff Shankin (UNIVERSAL STOMP, EARTHMOVER), guitarist Alfredo Riojas (a BERKLEE-trained shredder), and keyboardist Luis Ulloa (a young devotee of heavy music and mysticism), SUPREME MYSTIC creates music that is as punishing as it is purposeful. Their songs explore karma, mortality, illusion, and rebirth, often weaving in Sanskrit mantras and Eastern iconography with street-level truth and raw energy.

Equal parts intensity and intention, SUPREME MYSTIC is not just another heavy band. It is a movement of sound and spirit. Their debut full-length album Kala Rupa is set for release in Fall 2025.

SUPREME MYSTIC is:

  • Chino Noir – Vocals / Bass

  • Alfredo Riojas – Lead Guitar / Backup Vocals

  • Jeff Shankin – Drums

  • Luis Ulloa – Keyboards

Renowned NYC artist-producer Charlie Nieland returns with new single 'Win' (feat. spiritchild)'

Following his latest masterpiece - 'The Ocean Understands' EP, acclaimed NYC songwriter-producer Charlie Nieland has announced that his forthcoming album'Stories From The Borderlines', set for release on October 24. The first offering from this atmospheric and imaginative collection is 'Win (feat. spiritchild)'

Defying expectations, 'Win' is a postpunk mini-epic that starts as a piano-led hymn, becomes an explosive jangling anthem and winds up with a spectacular turn by Staten Island-based activist / rapper spiritchild. This new music arrives on the trail of Nieland's recent 'The Ocean Understands' EP and videos for 'Redshift' and 'Drown', directed by multi-faceted NYC-based artist Hypnodoll.

"The material for 'Stories From The Borderlines' got its start in the NYC performance series The Bushwick Book Club in response to various literary sources. The lead single 'Win' is actually a song about surrender - “I just want you to win”,  written as part of Bushwick Book Club’s residency for Banned Book Week at the Kurt Vonnegut Library and Museum in Indianapolis, Indiana," says Charlie Nieland.

"I was struck by the fearful response to the coming-of-age YA novel "All Boys Aren’t Blue" by the young, gay, African-American author George M. Johnson, which was the second most banned book in 2023. Book banning ultimately backfires. The act of hiding something from ourselves forces discovery. It begs us to honor what we don’t yet understand. Our fragile self-created identities - especially those formed in opposition to our adversaries - dissolve in the bright light of our interdependence. Our shared divinity. In a flash, the chorus woke me up in the middle of the night. “Go ahead and take my place. Take a look at my face. This is how it begins”.

Nieland's backstory is extensive, having written, performed and produced music for decades. He has written for and produced such artists as Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Blondie and Scissor Sisters, as well as scoring the feature film 'The Safety of Objects' (with Glenn Close), Showtime's pilot episode of 'The L Word' and the VH-1documentary 'NY77: The Coolest Year in Hell'.

Charlie was awarded a Gold record (UK) for his production work on Blondie's 'Greatest Hits Sight & Sound' and achieved a Top 10 Billboard Dance Chart Position with Debbie Harry's single 'Two Times Blue', which he co-wrote and produced.

Presenting a visceral blend of post punk, glam, dream pop and progressive rock, the forthcoming album also involves an appearance by keyboardist Joe McGinty (The Psychedelic Furs, Ryan Adams, Nada Surf, Polyvox). Atmospheric, with sweeping melodies and restless rhythms, these unique soundscapes promise an immersive journey, showcasing Nieland's continued evolution as an artist and producer.

After 20 years with dreampop band Her Vanished Grace, Nieland established himself as a solo artist rich on nuanced songwriting and sonic exploration, releasing 'Ice Age' (2014), followed by 'Hopeful Monsters' (2016) and ‘Divisions' album (2021). Half of the literature-inspired duo Lusterlit with Susan Hwang, he also produces and co-hosts the 'An Embarrassment of Prog' podcast.

'Win (feat. spiritchild)' is available from digital music platforms, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp, where Nieland's latest EP 'The Ocean Understands' EP can also be found. The full 'Stories From The Borderlines' album, out on October 24, can now be pre-ordered.

NYC songstress JESSIE KILGUSS releases 'Howard Johnson’s' single, previewing sixth album

NYC singer-songwriter Jessie Kilguss presents her latest single 'Howard Johnson's', previewing her sixth album 'They Have A Howard Johnson's There', which was engineered, produced, mixed and mastered by Charlie Nieland (Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Blondie, Scissor Sisters) at Saturation Point Studios in Brooklyn.

For this single, Kilguss is accompanied by John Kengla (David Byrne, Ben Kweller, Serena Ryder) on guitar, bass and keys, Rob Heath (Madison Square Gardeners, Julia Nunes) on drums and percussion, and Dave Derby (The Dambuilders, Gramercy Arms, Lloyd Cole) and Charlie Nieland on backing vocals. Other tracks on this album features Andrea Longato (Duncan Shiek, Jeremy Jordan, Alphonso Ribeiro), guitarist Kirk Schoenherr (Tegan and Sara, Elle King, Chet Faker), and Rembert Block (Rembert and the Basic Goodness).

"This song originated from some writing I did in a poetry workshop with performance artist Karen Finley. I had seen her read at the fantastic On The Verge Festival, which celebrates women artists of all disciplines at the Wild Project, produced and curated by my friend Heather Litteer. I was drawn to Karen's writing and saw a post of hers on Instagram advertising an online poetry workshop inspired by the movie 'Dog Day Afternoon', as well as dogs in general. I had never taken a poetry workshop before but I am a huge dog lover and thought "what the hell". I like pushing myself out of my comfort zone," says Jessie Kilguss.

"In the movie, Al Pacino is speaking with his lover about what he’ll do to prove his love and he says something like “I’ll charter a plane to Algeria. They have a Howard Johnson’s there”. It stood out to me because it was so ridiculous and also, my father Howard had passed away a month earlier. So the song is a tribute to my father, Howard Kilguss, and is also inspired by 'Dog Day Afternoon'. My father had a deep connection with dogs, so I thought it was even more appropriate to write this song for him".

This offering follows her single 'Too Far From Texas' (a collab with Jim Andralis), 'You're the One' and 'Wuthering Heights'. Kilguss' 2022 album 'What Do Whales Dream About at Night?' LP features drummer Brian Griffin (Patti Smith, Brandi Carlisle, Lana Del Rey), bassist Whynot Jansveld (The Wallflowers, Butch Walker, Sara Bareilles), composer-producer Naren Rauch, and Nathan Schram (Bjork, David Crosby, David Byrne), with whom Kilguss ran the non-profit organization Musicambia.

A former actress, whose acting highlights include 'The Crucible' (with Daniel Day Lewis and Winona Ryder) and the stage production 'As You Like It' (directed by Royal Shakespeare Company founder Sir Peter Hall), Kilguss made songwriting her focus after working with musical heroes Marianne Faithfull and Mary Margaret O'Hara in the Tom Waits / William Burroughs musical 'The Black Rider'.

Apart from writing and performing her own music, Kilguss sings with the Loser’s LoungeGramercy ArmsJim Andralis and the Syntonics and Benjamin Cartel. She's also performed at the Sundance Film Festival and with Freddie Stevenson, touring as support for The Waterboys' European tour. In June 2025, Kilguss was an artist in residence at Fish Factory Creative Center in Stodvarfjordur, Iceland where she wrote 9 new songs.

'Howard Johnson's' is out now, available everywhere, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp with the full album to follow on November 14th. Kilguss performs next on September 23rd at New York's 11th Street Bar, together with Rembert Block and Erica Smith. On November 5, Kilguss' Record Release Show is at Berlin Under A, with Life in a Blender and Charlie Nieland, who marks the release of his 'Stories From The Borderlines' album.

Enter the Realm of LORE: “Senpai” ft. Isaac Wilson Out Now

Avant-garde duo LORE step into the spotlight with their debut single, "Senpai", featuring Isaac Wilson of Dwellings, now available on all major streaming platforms. Alongside this week's debut single release, is the announcement of LORE's upcoming EP, "Prologue", set for release on October 3rd. Watch the new video for "Senpai" ft, Isaac Wilson of Dwellings below.

Formed earlier this year, LORE is the creation of Jay Christian and the Frog, a mysterious entity who remains shrouded in anonymity. Born entirely online, the project emerged from a conscious decision to cast aside ego and pretense in pursuit of something real. LORE's debut EP, "Prologue", serves as a proper introduction to the band's rich world of storytelling and animated surrealism.

Unveiling the first glimpse into the enigmatic world of LORE, "Senpai" ft Isaac Wilson of Dwellings arrives with a fully animated video through the perspective of the band's anonymous figure, the Frog. Having premiered on Crunchyroll this morning, the visual follows the Frog as he conjures magic, guiding a pair of cats on a whimsical journey through forests and skies.

Opening the door of LORE's realm and embarking on "Prologue,", Jay Christian and The Frog share:

"We couldn’t be more excited to finally share the first chapter of Lore with the world. From the very beginning, this project has been about creating something bigger than ourselves we did our best to create this immersive blend of sound, story, and surrealism. Releasing our debut single “Senpai” with Isaac Wilson feels like opening the door into that world for the very first time, and this is only the beginning. With “Prologue” on the horizon, we can’t wait for everyone to experience the journey we’ve been building."

ABOUT LORE

LORE is a boundary-pushing musical project formed in early 2025, forged entirely through online collaboration. United by their roots in post-hardcore and a deep passion for storytelling, the band have quickly built a powerful creative bond that transcends distance.

Shaped by their years in two cult-followed bands, LORE's founders carry forward an ethos of community, connection, and inclusivity as they enter the era of the band's debut EP, "Prologue". Their mission is simple, but vital: to tell unforgettable stories through music while cultivating a space with no gatekeeping, and no ego. Just honest art and love for the craft.

LORE isn't just about sound, but about meaning. It's music for those who want to feel, to belong, and to find something deeper within the noise.

Candi Carpenter Is "American God"

Alt pop musical provocateur CANDI CARPENTER is the "American God." Today, they drop their new single titled "American God."

Listen here.

Watch the lyric video below.

Subversive. Satirical. Blasphemous. Totally serious. 'American God' is scathing political and social commentary dripping with thick blood and honey sticky hooks that wo''t wash off with soap and water. Candi Carpenter's new pro-gay, anti-capitalist anthem is a rock opera for metal heads who proudly go hard for Lady Gaga.

So who the hell is this non-binary witch?

We're glad you asked.

Candi Carpenter (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, openly autistic singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-disciplinary artist who is unafraid to shatter expectations. A true rock and alternative musician's musician, Candi writes songs that cut deep, grappling with toxic religion, sexuality, identity, and the existential beauty of the human experience.

"American God" is a sharp-edged, unapologetic rock opera anthem that blends biting political and social commentary with sticky-sweet, unforgettable hooks. Both satirical and sincere, the track takes aim at capitalism, hypocrisy, and intolerance while celebrating queer resilience.

Raised in a touring gospel family band, Carpenter has been caught in a chaotic cycle of reincarnation since the day they fell out of their mother: Child prodigy, yodeling champion, country chart-climber, and alternative powerhouse. Along the way, they've earned praise from Rolling Stone, collaborated with Brandi Carlile, appeared on BBC, NBC, and TLC, and were hailed by Dolly Parton as "one of the greatest singer/songwriters I've ever heard, bar none."

With their 2024 debut album Demonology, Candi staked a claim as one of today's most fearless voices. "American God" cements their place as a vital and uncompromising artist willing to raise hell, tell the truth, and make music that sticks to your bones.

Celebrated by Alternative Press as one of the “40 Artists You Need to Hear,” Don't Believe In Ghosts continues to make waves in New York City’s indie rock scene with their signature blend of catchy hooks, uplifting energy, and thoughtful lyrics.

Their new album, But On The Bright Side, arrives November 7th, 2025, following the singles "Driver" (August 29th) and "Outta Your Head" (October 10th). To celebrate, the band will host an album release party on November 15th at Soho Live in NYC.

Recorded over two years, the album saw the band working across multiple studios and diving deeper into analog gear, live recording, and classic console techniques. Sessions included trips to Nashville to work with producer Don Miggs and to Cleveland to collaborate with Grammy-winning producer Ken Lewis, alongside recording in their home base of New York. Throughout the process, all three members took on multiple instruments, pushing their sound in new directions. The collection features songs mixed by legendary mixers Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons) and Ken Lewis (Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga), as well as tracks mixed by the band’s own frontman and producer Steven Nathan.

The band—Steven Nathan (vocals), Dan DelVecchio (guitar), and Ken Yang (drums)—has built a reputation for anthemic songwriting and high-energy performances. Past highlights include the Needham-mixed track "Put Your Head Back"—featured in the Apple TV+ series WeCrashed—and "Don’t Wake Me Up", which debuted at #2 on the ALL ACCESS retail radio chart and featured comedy legend Gilbert Gottfried in its video. "Slow Down"has surpassed 2 million plays on retail radio, and "Summer High" landed multiple Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists.

With their electrifying live shows—twice headlining sold-out performances at the Bowery Ballroom—and a track record of infectious, uplifting releases, Don't Believe In Ghosts (Mindful Recordings / Symphonic) shows no sign of slowing down. But On The Bright Side is set to be their most ambitious and sonically rich release yet.

STARSET Announce New Album "SILOS" Out 9/12 + Band Shares Video for "Shattered Dreams" Cover

STARSET ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM SILOS OUT SEPTEMBER 12 VIA FEARLESS RECORDS

ALBUM FEATURES TWO NEW TRACKS + SIX INTERLUDES

BAND SHARES VIDEO FOR COVER OF "SHATTERED DREAMS" —

Visionary, sci-fi-inspired rock collective STARSET will release their next full-length transmission SILOS on September 12 via Fearless Records.

Pre-save it here.

The album will feature two brand new tracks, six interludes, and several recently released songs. In typical STARSET fashion, fans are invited to immerse themselves in the band's layered world via the songs, interludes, and the storylines.

o coincide with the album news, the band has shared its cover of "SHATTERED DREAMS." Watch the video here. It's STARSET's take on Johnny Hates Jazz's international hit "Shattered Dreams" — with a twist. It's haunting and moody and in true STARSET fashion, the tone of the song can highlight the dystopia of 2025.

"For a long time, I've had it in my head that I could cover 'Shattered Dreams' in a cool way that sounds fresh, heavy, and emotive, while still keeping what made it great," says frontman Dustin Bates. "For that reason, it was on a very short list of covers I'd like to eventually do. I haven't traditionally been very big on covers for this band, though, so I wasn't in a real hurry to do it. However, recently, I've started to become convinced that soon, anyone will be able to cover any song in any style with the use of AI. (It will take a while longer for it to write a great song on its own, but it will likely be able to cover songs well very soon.) So, it started to feel like now-or-never. That also explains why there are two covers on the album."

Lauded by Forbes as having "one of the most firmly established brands of any modern rock band," Columbus, Ohio's STARSET are creating a true multimedia empire with music at its core. Their hits include RIAA Platinum-selling hit "My Demons" (2012) and RIAA Gold-selling single "It Has Begun" (2014), with others soon to follow. With a staggering 5 billion streams and a rapidly growing rabid global fanbase, STARSET are one of rock's upper echelon acts.

K. MICHELLE SERVES UP AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING COUNTRY DEBUT, “JACK DANIEL'S”

The powerhouse voice of R&B took her highly anticipated turn down a dirt road — and it’s paved with passion, rich vocals and southern soul, as platinum-selling recording artist K. Michelle officially defies genre lines. Bursting onto the country music scene with the fiercely breathtaking “Jack Daniel's,” the track marks a seismic musical shift for one of R&B’s most distinctive voices, bringing her raw firepower to Nashville’s front porch. The first black woman to ever partner with the iconic brand, listen to her gripping, genre-breaking country debut HERE

With a voice that could melt steel and lyrics that cut true, K. Michelle quips that the Tennessee whiskey is the “only man she trusts.” Produced by Kristian Bush (Megan Moroney, Sugarland) and Jeff Balding, the Billboard-charting heavyweight wrote the smoky, soul-drenched power ballad packed with bite, grit and brilliance alongside ERNEST, Jordan Dozzi and Rocky Block, delivering a soundscape that’s as intoxicating as the spirit it honors.

“This is me coming home,” says K. Michelle, whose over 12M social media followers have been frantically demanding this release for months. “Country is in my blood. I was raised on southern soil in Memphis, Tennessee, where soul and country grew from the same roots. This new music is a celebration of where I come from — the pride, the bittersweet and the whiskey-soaked truth of it all."

Long known for her fearless lyricism and vocal prowess, the acclaimed singer-songwriter is bringing the same unfiltered passion to country that made her an R&B icon. With this release, the magnetic multi-threat joins the exceptional class of trailblazing black country artists changing the country music game, adding: “This is my story, and I’m ready for the world to hear it.”

With undeniable star power at the helm, K. Michelle has arrived in country music — and she’s taking over, releasing even more new music very soon.

About K. Michelle:
With over 12M social media followers, K. Michelle’s incredibly stunning career is nothing short of groundbreaking as she has stretched genre boundaries and built a worldwide audience of fans. With an already impressive resume, the multi-threat is not only an accomplished singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist, with five Billboard charting albums, but she’s also an entrepreneur, author, executive, actress, television personality and restaurateur. Praised as real, brave, and rebellious, a notion beautifully present throughout her 2013 album Rebellious Soul, K. Michelle’s indomitable spirit and innately bold talent has encapsulated fans throughout her multifarious career. For listeners craving relatable music, her classic candor serves as a safe space and trademark.

In 2023, the Memphis, Tenn. native surprised fans by announcing that she was readying her debut country project. In true K. Michelle fashion, the always-real songstress gave a taste of what to expect with the album’s bonus track “Tennessee” on her sixth studio album I’m The Problem. True to her word, that same year, the Billboard-charting icon was featured on the acclaimed A Tribute To The Judds album, singing “Love Can Build A Bridge” alongside Jelly Roll and Fisk Jubilee Singers, performed on “The 57th Annual CMA Awards” that aired live on ABC and made her CMA Fest Nissan Stadium debut.

Reared in a household where the music of Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston played alongside country icons like The Judds and Lee Ann Womack, she put her Volunteer State roots on display when she earned a music scholarship to Florida A&M University for yodeling. Now, defying genres, destroying stereotypes, and fully unleashing her undeniable star power, K. Michelle has finally released her debut country track with the fierce powerhouse smash “Jack Daniel's,” available now.

Giants and monsters Out Today from HELLOWEEN!

With 15 gold awards, six platinum awards and over ten million records sold, HELLOWEEN are celebrating the band’s 40th anniversary with the successor to their self-titled #1 album from 2021. GIANTS & MONSTERS is the second album for the legendary line-up and the title immediately states where the album is heading.

Confident and bursting with vigor, the septet presents what probably is the most versatile album of their career. Already the opener “GIANTS ON THE RUN” flips the switch from the very first riff and impressively marks the terrain with the power voices of Andi Deris and Kai Hansen. No trace of restraint – the track takes a breath, takes off and unleashes a roar that leaves no doubt about the blazing pulse of the ten new songs. On this album, the experience and musical enthusiasm of a band that can do anything and everything blazes its way: Heavy, speed, rock, ballad – plain, intricate or progressive. With five strong songwriters and seven world-class musicians, creative limits are set aside once and for all on GIANTS & MONSTERS.

Musically rather straightforward and a veritable hit, “A LITTLE IS A LITTLE TOO MUCH” gives Andi Deris and Michael Kiske the space their monumental voices need for an intimate story. “Basically, it’s about the famous straw that breaks the camel’s back. During the writing process, however, I remembered an experience I had at the age of 15 and the lyrics ended up being pretty erotic – about little things that can quickly put an end to a big thing”, grins Deris. “THIS IS TOKYO” is another personal track. “I’ve always wanted to write this song. Japan plays a very special role in my life because I had my first big successes there with Pink Cream 69, and they have always treated me incredibly well. I wanted to create a tribute to Japan and finally had the right idea for the lyrics. Because ‘Tokyo’ sounds better in a chorus than ‘Japan’, the city stands for a whole country that is very important to me.”

“‘UNIVERSE (GRAVITY FOR HEARTS)" is a reminder that everything in the universe is connected, and what looks like an infinite number of stars could actually be moments, hearts and decisions,” describes songwriter Sascha Gerstner. With a playing time of over eight minutes, “UNIVERSE (GRAVITY FOR HEARTS)”, together with “MAJESTIC”, not only stands out as a longtrack – they both surprise with dizzying dynamic changes and huge melodic arcs that create entire worlds: Whatever you believe in is real. Alongside “WE CAN BE GODS”, “MAJESTIC” is also one of the tracks featuring all three singers of the HELLOWEEN super alliance. Both songs were penned by Kai Hansen and launch all trademarks that secured his place deep in metal hearts. “The space and aliens are my favorite themes and pretty fascinating. But you could also read the chorus as a description of the band: ‘We’re back and we’re the Masters of Power Metal’ – I’ll leave that up to the listeners,” laughs Hansen.

Masterclass is just as evident in gigantic ballads, and “GIANTS & MONSTERS” serves the first one in this constellation. “INTO THE SUN” is a duet in which Deris and Kiske sweepingly pour their hearts out, carried by masterfully orchestrated string cascades and yearning guitar solos. “Originally the song had different lyrics, but now it’s about reincarnation and that suits the track much better,” reveals Deris. “Michi and I share similar beliefs in that area, and I really wanted us to record the song together. He just sounds great when he sings it”. “SAVIOR OF THE WORLD”, a classic Weikath at his best, could have well been on one of the legendary ‘Keeper’ albums, and the extravagant “UNDER THE MOONLIGHT” also underlines his exceptional songwriting talent.

Consistently topping superlatives and presenting yet another milestone with “GIANTS & MONSTERS” requires the courage to keep reinventing a colossus like HELLOWEEN as well as continuing to challenge seven brimming careers even after four decades. And the instincts of the congenial producers Charlie Bauerfeind and Dennis Ward. For example, the fact that Dani Löble recorded all tracks on three different drum sets to individually decide which set delivers the perfect vibe for a song was only imaginable through unrestrained love of experimentation and highest standards. An effort and attention to detail that not everyone is willing to bring to the table. The mix was done at the legendary Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, which have witnessed the works of the greatest names in music – from Iron Maiden to Judas Priest and Def Leppard to Rammstein.
“GIANTS & MONSTERS” will be released on August 29, 2025, as CD Jewelcase, CD Digipak (incl. bonus track), Earbook (incl. bonus CD), 2-LP Gatefold (in various colors) and 2-LP Picture (incl. bonus track), MC and digital.

THE JOTUNN Return With “Blood Flower,” A Dark Fusion of Groove and Deathcore

THE JOTUNN return with their first new music since the release of their 2024 EP Summoner, unveiling their crushing new single “Blood Flower.” A natural evolution of the band’s sound, “Blood Flower” blends the Swedish groove melodeath influences that have shaped the band since its inception with the unrelenting intensity of blackened deathcore.

“This was our real attempt at pushing everything we love about extreme music to the next level,” says guitarist Shawn Kahan, who initially penned the track. “Cole [Martinez] really elevated it with his production, and it sounds absolutely massive. We’ve never been happier with a song.”

“Blood Flower” is a merging of THE JOTUNN’s love for music and horror. The track is interwoven with a short story written by vocalist Paul Kahan, and its music video, directed by Tom Stumpf, brings the concept vividly to life.

About THE JOTUNN:
Based out of Cleveland and Columbus Ohio, THE JOTUNN formed in 2021 after guitarist and songwriter Shawn Kahan presented a number of demos to Paul Kahan. Soon producer Cole Martinez (ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, WHITECHAPEL, ABORTED) was on board taking up the role of bassist and producer of their music. Nick Amato (ATOMIC WITCH) performed drums on the band's debut album Graveworshipper (2022), prior to Adam Biats joining the line-up. The outfit was awarded the Columbus Artist Grant in 2023, and subsequently in 2025. THE JOTUNN's EP Summoner arrived in 2024, and is set to be followed in 2025 by two cover releases and a new original track. Cole left the band in June 2025 on good terms, leading to the arrival of Leo Debevc on guitar and Londyn Hager on bass.

THE JOTUNN is:
Paul Kahan - Vocals
Shawn Kahan - Guitar
