We Are PIGS + Souleye Drop "GHOST TOWN" Visualizer

eptember 6 will see the release of "Ghost Town," a result of the alt know-how of Esjay Jones and the hip-hop stylings of Souleye, creating an ultra-addictive single that will have heads banging around the world.

WATCH THE VISUALIZER BELOW.

Souleye (husband of seven-time Grammy-winning Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette) has an impressive resume. Having been referred to as "one of the most inventive hip-hop artists of his generation" by The Source, his passion for the genre can be traced back to his formative years, as an adolescent in New England, who would record episodes of Yo! MTV Raps on his boombox. He began freestyling and writing songs in his mid-teens, and at 20, he was bestowed with the name "Souleye" during a shamanic visualization meditation. Throughout the course of his career, Souleye has been viewed as a genre-bending act, as evidenced by his longevity and his discography, which features a dozen studio albums! Furthermore, he has collaborated with numerous artists, including his wife, Alanis Morissette, and various hip-hop and electronic music artists, such as Sunspot Jonz and Random Rab.

Collaborator and Grammy-featured producer Esjay Jones is perhaps one of the busiest and tenacious women in all of the music industry. Having worked with everyone from Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, Brian "Head" Welch of Korn, and Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction to the late, great Chester Bennington, Jones consistently has her finger on the pulse of what makes a song pop in any genre. Not only does she have a stranglehold on the rock world, but with business partner and Kittie frontwoman, Morgan Lander, Esjay Jones has also stepped into the world of non-alcoholic beverages. Their creation, specifically crafted for heavy music lovers everywhere, KittiePIG, is a non-alcoholic beer that is making waves within the hardrock venues and bars around the country. Promising "All Headbang, No Hangover," there has never (ever) been a better tasting, or more badass can of bubbles to hit the market. For more info on KittiePIG and wholesale purchasing, go here!

Souleye and Esjay will join forces for a second time beyond their massive song collaboration by launching the first-ever SOULEYE FEST on October 26 at Four-Twenty Bank in Palm Springs. The "can't miss" event is complimentary and embraces art, music, and plant- based medicines. So there's something for everyone and is a great way to spend the day. Additionally, Souleye will also release his 13th studio album, Floating In Plasma, that night.

JOHN DOUGLAS marks 20-year anniversary of TRASHCAN SINATRAS 'Weightlifting' with new video. Headline North American tour begins Oct. 1

Acclaimed Scottish troubadour John Douglas, presents a live rendition of 'Weightlifting', commemorating the landmark Trashcan Sinatras album released 20 years ago this week. The offering also previews Douglas' forthcoming 'Lost in North America Tour - Part One', an intimate snapshot of the talent, charisma and depth of this celebrated songsmith.

Throughout October, Douglas takes to American stages, showcasing original material and new recordings of fave Trashcan Sinatras' material. Joined for West coast and Midwest dates by Lily Vakili of Vakili Band, he is joined for East Coast dates by award-winning singer-songwriter Lauren Calve. Further, attendees of two special shows will be treated to guest appearances by fellow Trashcan Sinatras Frank Reader and Paul Livingston in Seattle, with Reader also joining Douglas in LA.

"'Weightlifting' was a milestone record in our journey. It took us a long time to make that record due to various hilarious sidetracks, including adventures in Japan with us as a six-piece band, and many many strung out, aimless days and nights in our adopted home of Kilmarnock, Scotland, a mad detour attempting to record in Hartford, USA (skillfully avoiding the nightly gunshots), and even a meeting with the landed gentry in Ayr County Court, where our banishment from the land of honest toil was finally ended," says John Douglas.

"We returned from all those adventures with songs - songs of love, loss, redemption, forgiveness, bravado, friendship, wisdom, peace and tranquility. Songs that we swore ourselves to... and here we are 20 years on and it looks like we somehow built them to last. Somehow, from the chaotic depths, we found ourselves at the top of our game. It’s a miracle of a record."

It's been a fine year for Douglas, including a UK headlining tour, releasing his eponymous debut album via Reveal Records, UK Top-40 charting of Trashcan Sinatras' reissued album 'Cake' (33 years since it debuted), and a new Trashcan Sinatras documentary, produced by award-winning Irish journalist Ken Sweeney, which also features Douglas performing beloved Trashcans' songs.

'Weightlifting' is the second instalment in Douglas' 'Me & Midnight Sessions’, following 'Oranges & Apples'. Earlier, he shared live videos for 'I Just Want To Go Home', 'Lost', 'I'm Not The Fella', 'Always' and 'Leave Me Alone' - all tracks from his debut album, recorded with renowned producer Mark Freegard (New Model Army, Lush, The Breeders, Del Amitri, Marillion).

Douglas shares, "This video was filmed in Ibrox, Glasgow in a flat that was once shared by a young couple, who had come to the end of their time together. On the night of my filming, I had helped one of them move out the final pieces of furniture and accompanied them as they said goodbye to what they used to call home. I returned later, on my own, to the now empty flat... just before midnight... and filmed  myself singing what felt like a very appropriate song. A bittersweet night that will hopefully allow a healing to begin and for pain to be left behind. I changed the lyric a little to suit the mood."

John Douglas' debut album is available on CD and digitally via Bandcamp, as well as from fine online platforms. His 'Lost in North America Tour - Part One' kicks off in Los Angeles on October 1.

1349 Premieres Blistering New Single, "Inferior Pathways"

True Norwegian black metal horde 1349 will be releasing their eighth full-length, 'The Wolf and the King,' on October 4, 2024 via Season of Mist! The Norwegian horde is now unleashing the latest offering from the record, "Inferior Pathways," which can be heard below.

1349 frontman Ravn comments, "With this single, some might say we have saved the best for last. I say that 'Inferior Pathways' is the perfection of quintessential 1349 executed in the darkest and most sinister way.”

The forthcoming offering was mastered by Jarrett Pritchard and produced and mixed by Prichard & 1349 frontman Ravn at NEW CONSTELLATION R.M.P.

Pre-order for 'The Wolf and the King' are now live HERE.

Recorded at Amper Tone in Oslo, Norway, and New Constellation R.M.P. in Orlando, Florida, The Wolf and the King was produced and mixed by Ravn and Jarrett Pritchard (Eulogy, Pulchra Morte), the band’s long-standing sonic wizard who also worked on their previous two albums. The lyrics were written by the band’s longtime wordsmith, Svartalv, who has been working with 1349 for twenty years.

Jordan Barlow’s elaborate artwork for The Wolf and the King reflects the album’s chronological position in 1349’s discography. “This is our eighth album, and the artwork and lyrics are filled with references to this number of infinity,” Ravn explains. “You can basically go on a quest finding references to the number in the artwork.”

All told, The Wolf and the King is the exalted output of the joint force that is 1349. “We all work together to make the best black metal possible every time we release an album,” Ravn says. “This is our common goal. We’re a band on a mission.”

NEW COUNTRY DUO HEARTWRECKERS SIGNS PUBLISHING DEAL WITH BMG

New country duo Heartwreckers, Brock Butler and Ryan Garrett, have signed a new publishing deal with BMG.

The duo released its debut EP, Shut Up And Drink, on Friday, June 28 following a run of shows kicked off by opening the 28th Annual Key West Songwriters Festival Presented by BMI, nine performance dates supporting Denmark’s Nashville Nights Spring Tour ‘24, and the UK’s Buckles & Boots Music Fest. Butler and Garrett returned stateside to join Tim McGraw on his Standing Room Only summer arena tour, with special guest Carly Pearce, performing to capacity arena crowds in Chicago, Kansas City and more.

Scott Siman, President of EM.Co (management for Tim McGraw and publishing partner for Heartwreckers) says, “I’m looking forward to the world discovering Heartwreckers’ music. Brock and Ryan are each powerhouses on their own, and together their writing and performing just goes to another level."

Tim McGraw, also a publishing partner on Heartwreckers, adds, “The guys were awesome on the tour this year and I’m thrilled we could partner up with BMG Publishing.”

Chris Oglesby, VP, Publishing, BMG Nashville, says, “Ryan and Brock are strong vocalists and performers in a live setting but what sets these two apart as Heartwreckers is their depth of talent as songwriters. They have tapped into what connects with listeners; there’s a rawness and vulnerability that balances the ‘in your face’ truth-telling songs they’re becoming known for. They understand their craft and are dedicated to growing as artists and writers. We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Scott, Tim and team EM.Co on what I believe will be an enduring career.”

Heartwreckers’ debut EP Shut Up And Drink is a collection of five envelope-pushing country songs produced by Andrew Baylis (Jelly Roll, Austin Snell) that caps off a banner summer for the Texas natives who’ve been featured on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” in Hook & Barrel Magazine, Toledo Blade and Today’s Country Magazine. The duo has earned playlisting on Spotify’s New Music Friday Country, COUNTRY, and Next From Nashville.

In March, Heartwreckers’ third single “All Goes South” was chosen by ESPN for its SEC Network college baseball season theme.

The duo says, “The Shut Up And Drink EP is a collection of stories written about our personal experiences. The songs are true stories about making the best out of any situation, all while dealing with the struggles of heartbreak, mental health and addiction.”

George Strait’s New Album, COWBOYS AND DREAMERS, Arrives

It’s been 15 years since The New York Times distinguished George Strait as “a country superstar in complete command of his gift,” and with the arrival of his 31st studio album for MCA, Cowboys And Dreamersthat statement rings just as true today. Filled with classic country honky-tonkers about drinkin’ and not thinkin’ as well as sad songs and ballads about loss and cheatin’, listen to the album Cowboys & Indians Magazine notes is “a cornucopia of trad-country-arrangement beauty,”.

Dedicated to three of Strait’s very good, longtime friends and collaborators who he lost this year – manager Erv Woolsey, road manager Tom Foote and fiddler Gene Elders who plays on four tracks on this album – the Texas Troubadour shared, “I will never forget all of the good times we had together.”

Produced by Chuck Ainlay, who has been mixing Strait records since 1985, Tony Brown (Strait’s 1993’s Easy Come, Easy Go; 2008’s Troubadour) and Strait, the album’s title comes from a song penned by Jessie Jo Dillon, Keith Gattis and Bubba Strait.

“It is a really cool song,” shared Strait of the title track. “So cool that I thought that I should name the whole album after it. And sometimes I feel like the last of a dying breed trying to find where I fit. That pretty much says it all. ‘Somewhere between high on top of the world, and fighting with calling it quits.’” While the Keith Gattis reaffirming “Wish I Could Say” offers, ‘Wish I could tell you how the world ain’t ended, And how it’s all going to be ok.’

The follow-up to Honky Tonk Time Machine, Strait’s 27th No. 1 Billboard Country album, Cowboys And Dreamers, named “album of the week” by Associated Press, features 13 new songs, including three already released tracks -- “Three Drinks Behind,” “MIA Down in MIA” and “The Little Things” -- as well as “Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame” featuring Chris Stapleton and Strait’s rendition of Waylon Jennings’ “Waymore’s Blues.” All making appearances in his live set, Strait has one final show in 2024, supersizing his long-standing “Strait to Vegas” show at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to mark the 37th installment of the engagement with Chris Stapleton and special guests Little Big Town.

About George Strait
George Strait is the King of Country Music, having sold more than 105 million albums and counting while earning more than 60 major entertainment industry awards as well as countless nominations. The Texas singer-songwriter is the only act in history to have a Top 10 hit every year for over three decades. With 33 different Platinum or multi-Platinum albums, he’s earned the third-most certifications of any artist in any genre, following only The Beatles and Elvis Presley, and with a total of 60, Strait has more No. 1 songs than any other artist in history.

The Texas troubadour's 31st career studio album, Cowboys And Dreamers, is available now. It follows 2019’s best-selling country album, Honky Tonk Time Machine, on MCA Nashville. That album quickly became Strait’s record-extending 27th No.1 Billboard Country album. The Country Music Hall of Fame member also earned his 100th entry on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his single “The Weight of the Badge” from the project. For more information, visit GeorgeStrait.com.

Scotty McCreery Releases "Fall of Summer (NC State Version)" Due to Fan Demand

When NC State men’s and women’s basketball teams made their historic run to the NCAA Final Four last Spring, Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery tweaked the lyrics to his current single “Fall of Summer” from his current album Rise & Fall with an update for his beloved Wolfpack singing,I said come see me at NC State.” The change has remained a popular one at his live show and even taken on a life of its own on social media with fans inserting their own school name in the lyrics. McCreery, who was just announced yesterday as a performer at the 2025 Stagecoach Festival, has heard the call from fans and due to popular demand is releasing “Fall of Summer (NC State Version).” Available today, listen to the updated “Fall of Summer” Below.

Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Fall of Summer,” is currently climbing the chart at country radio and was most added its first week. Filled with mature nostalgia, and built on one of the album’s most modern, cinematic sounds, the midtempo and reflective standout finds the country crooner’s vocal at a low simmer, as a guy looks back on a season of life that ultimately faded, but also made room for the here and now.

Rise & Fall is McCreery’s most critically acclaimed album to date, with Billboard naming it one of the 50 Best Albums of 2024 (So Far). The album’s first single, “Cab in a Solo,” recently became his sixth #1 hit. Listen to the album Rolling Stone says is “every bit as legit as Jamey Johnson’s That Lonesome Song, Garth Brooks’ In Pieces, or Randy Travis’ Storms of Life,” HERE

“Across the 13-track collection, McCreery exhibits his continued growth as a vocalist and songwriter,” notes HollerPeople echoes the sentiment, writing that the album “brims with a newfound confidence and maturity,” while Country Now calls it “his best record yet,” and American Songwriter declares it a “career album” as Rise & Fall finds him exploring not only heartbreak but rowdy nights, nostalgia, faith, newfound joy, fatherhood and enduring love, resulting in a project full of insightful storytelling. The album was produced by McCreery’s longtime production team of Frank Rogers, Derek Wells and Aaron Eshuis.

McCreery co-wrote 12 of the 13 songs on the album, which Billboard observes, “Light-hearted fare such as ‘Stuck Behind a Tractor’ and ‘And Countin’’ mesh with heartbreak brushoffs such as ‘Lonely,’ the bluegrass-inflected album-closer ‘Porch’ and the faith-filled ‘Red Letter Blueprint.’” It is available digitally as well as on CD and vinyl. In addition, Amazon is releasing a limited-edition forest green vinyl version of the album. Order autographed vinyl and CDs of Rise & Fall HERE.

McCreery also recently joined Callista Clark on the duet “Gettin’ Old” via Dreamcatcher Artists label (listen HERE). Clark wrote the song with Averie Bielski and Karen Kasowski, while Joey Hyde and Frank Rogers share production credits.

Of the collaboration McCreery shared, “I’ve been a fan of Callista and her talent for some time, especially after having her out on my European tour a few years ago. I loved this song from the first time I heard it and was honored that she asked me to sing it with her.”

The two recently shot a music video for the track, conceived, produced and directed by award-winning film maker Roman White, which will be released soon. A preview of the video can be seen now on both Clark and McCreery’s socials.

Having spent almost half his life in the spotlight making country music, the North Carolina native is in the midst of his headlining Fall of Summer Tour. Named after his current single of the same name, the tour will take the North Carolina native across the U.S. and Canada with stops in Santa Fe, NM; Bakersfield, CA; Stamford, CT; Windsor, Ontario; Kansas City, MO, Las Vegas, NV, and more.

Miranda Lambert Brought “Wranglers” to NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Ahead of 9/13 ‘Postcards from Texas’

Clad in a denim-inspired Lauren Sussi outfit and the Lone Star-based Standard Hat Works hat that appears on the cover of her highly anticipated album Postcards from Texas, three-time GRAMMY Award-winner Miranda Lambert brought the heat to last night’s edition of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” treating viewers to a fiery performance of lead single “Wranglers.” The album, which arrives as her debut project for new label home Republic Records next Friday, Sept. 13, has already been named among the most anticipated albums of the year by VultureGRAMMY.comTexas Monthly and more. Pre-order / pre-save HERE and watch the performance Below.

Written by Audra Mae, Ryan Carpenter and Evan McKeever - based on a real woman-to-woman conversation between Mae and Lambert - the song arrived as the biggest-streaming debut of her 20+ year career and is now ascending the charts at country radio. In both a symbolic and physical return to Texas for the first studio album recorded by Lambert in her home state since her independent teenage debut, “Wranglers” was recorded at Austin’s legendary Arlyn Studios and produced by Lambert together with frequent collaborator Jon Randall, along with the rest of the forthcoming album, including liberated anthem “Dammit Randy,” humorous shuffle “Alimony” and free-spirited ballad “No Man’s Land”,” all also out now as early previews of the project.

“‘Wranglers’ is a classic tale of a woman taking her power back,” Lambert shared of the track upon its release. “I think we can all identify with the character in this song, because we have all had a time in our life where we needed to find our strength, and also get a little revenge on someone who did us wrong or hurt us. This offers such a cool, raging take on how something like this unravels; I am so proud to sing this song.”

“What results is a three-minute tale of the power and destruction of female rage,” declares Holler of the song. “With a foreboding drum roll, acoustic guitar and a sinister sounding whistle opening the track, Lambert’s signature Texas twang cuts through almost defiantly as Mae adds some chilling background vocals throughout. Fit with a strong and compelling chorus, ‘Wranglers’ showcases Lambert’s tried and true combination of country sensibility and high-octane, rock-infused instrumentation, that features sizzling guitar licks and a goosebump-inducing howl at the song’s close.”

The Postcards from Texas preview initially made its debut during her headlining set at Stagecoach Music Festival earlier this year, followed by the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history performing the song live during this year’s ACM Awards show, with Billboard praising the “rocking performance of the scorching woman-done-wrong’s revenge tale, electrifying the crowd.”

The song “showcases her at her defiantly full-tilt best…. an instant classic stadium-ready anthem that exuberantly celebrates liberation from a bad situation,” adds Cowboys & Indians, with the Tennessean declaring that the “Wranglers” chapter of her storied career “finds her in greater control of her artistic and creative direction than ever” and Cowgirl Magazine celebrating it as “a heartfelt return to her musical roots, reminiscent of her earliest albums… blending traditional elements with modern flair.”

Following this week’s late night television appearance, Lambert will return to screens next Wednesday, Sept. 11 to serve as a presenter on the all-genre MTV Video Music Awards. She also took fans behind the making of the album with TalkShopLive, available to watch on demand here, and appears on the current covers of both Us Weekly and Nashville Lifestyles, with the latter declaring, “Lambert may call Nashville home, and she may revisit and draw inspiration from her home state Texas, but perhaps it’s being at home within herself and the authenticity that comes with it that has cemented her country star status and all that’s yet to come.”

Ian Munsick Honored with Museum Exhibit, ‘Voices of the West’ Screening at Center of the West

Wyoming native Ian Munsick returned to his home state this week to commemorate the opening of his curated exhibit hosted by Exclusive Tours at Center of the West. Honoring the legacy of “Buffalo Bill” Cody, known for his embodiment of the authentic Western lifestyle, Munsick also joined the museum for a screening and panel discussion on his award-winning documentary, White Buffalo: Voices of the West.

“From the very beginning of my career, Buffalo Bill Cody has been a huge inspiration in terms of his dedication of sharing authentic western culture with the world,” shares Munsick. “Having my own exhibit on display in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West is a great honor for me in that I feel like I’m following in his footsteps 150 years later. I believe that Voices of the West has been an instrumental piece of our vision to ‘bring the west to the rest’ as it showcases a piece of cowboy culture that really hasn’t been captured in any format. The Native American cowboy is a sacred secret that deserves to be recognized and appreciated, and that was our primary objective with this documentary. Screening the film at the Center of the West will be a real treat.

“The spirit of the west is just as important today as it was in the ‘Wild West’ era and it’s evermore important to share the legacy of those who continue to shape it. I’m just fortunate to help spread that message,” he adds.

The panel discussion featured Ian and Caroline Munsick alongside Rylon Bird, Director, cinematographer, owner of Valley of the Chiefs Productions and member of the Crow Nation Tribe; and Noel Two Leggins, Youth Coordinator for Big Horn College and member of the Crow Nation. Moderated by Hunter Old Elk, Assistant Curator of the Plains Indian Museum, member of Crow and Yakama Nations, the four panelists invited audience members to contribute their questions and insights, while offering a platform to recognize the integral role Native Americans have played in shaping cowboy traditions and culture.

Voices of the West spans nearly an hour, and delves into conversations with Pro Buckin’ Horse producer and entrepreneur from the Blackfoot Tribe, Dougie Hall; rancher, horse trainer and actor from the Crow Tribe, Stephen Yellowtail; cowgirl from the Blackfeet Nation, Sammy Jo Bird; and Munsick as the four explore the modern-day relationship between cowboys, ranchers and Native American tribes – and how they often rely on each other to live off the land out west.

Since its release in January, Voices of the West has been selected for eight film festivals and has won nine awards, including six Telly Awards for Best Directing, Best Editing, Best Use of Music, Best Videography & Cinematography, Best Documentary: Long Form (Above 40 minutes), DEI: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

Voices of the West is available to stream now on Apple iTunes, Apple, Google Play, Kanopy (Libraries), Microsoft, Vudu, YouTube Rentals and Amazon TVOD.

To complement the documentary screening, the Center of the West recently opened a special exhibit honoring Munsick, featuring 11 items signifying pivotal career moments. Items on display include his custom Manuel suit that he wore for his Grand Ole Opry debut, Red Rocks debut boots from Boot Barn, a bolo gifted to him from Morgan Wallen and more. The exhibit will be on display until January 2025. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit CenterOfTheWest.org.

About Ian Munsick:
A native son of Wyoming, Ian Munsick painted a stampeding, spirited portrait of the American West with his sophomore album 18-track White Buffalo: Introduce You To God, out now. Spanning unfiltered tales of romance and ranch life, hard-working anthems with honkytonk hooks and mountain-time odes to family and forever-young fun, it builds upon the spacious roots-pop beauty he introduced on his major label debut, Coyote Cry. Over the past four years, Munsick has accumulated nearly 750 million global streams and a host of accolades. He has been named an “Artist to Watch” by Spotify, CMT, Fender, MusicRow and most recently was named a Martin Showcase Artist. A seasoned entertainer, having grown up tending cattle by day and playing music in a family band each night, Munsick toured recently alongside country music superstars Morgan Wallen and Cody Johnson, and as direct support for select dates of Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again tour, while simultaneously headlining his own Boots, Buckles & Bolos Tour and Country & WESTern Tour presented by Boot Barn. The Warner Music Nashville recording artist and multi-instrumentalist is representing his home, and its special cast of people, like never before. The first release from White Buffalo, standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” (with Cody Johnson), hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown, was named one of Amazon Music’s Best Country Songs of 2022 and recently received RIAA Gold-certification alongside “Long Haul” and “Horses Are Faster.” Fans of Ian Munsick will always find an open heart, natural awe and plainspoken honesty as he rides on… bringing the West to the rest. Bryce Leatherwood Announces Debut Single “Hung Up On You”

Republic Records / Mercury Nashville recording artist Bryce Leatherwood is arriving at Country radio with his debut single “Hung Up on You” available today on all DSPs. Written by Brandon Lay, Jeff Middleton and Neil Medley, the song will impact Country radio on Monday, Sept. 23. Listen Below.

“The second I heard ‘Hung Up On You,’ I knew it was a song I had to record,” reflects Leatherwood. “It just felt like me, yet it carries the influences of artists I look up to. I can hear a little of Eric Church’s ‘Smoke A Little Smoke’ and some of the rock elements reminiscent of Allman Brothers that I grew up admiring. It felt true to all aspects of my artistry and my role models, and I’m excited for it to be my first single at Country radio.

“Growing up, Country radio is what we listened to at home, so taking this one to the airwaves is a full circle moment for me,” Leatherwood adds. “All I’ve ever wanted to do is make my family and everyone back home proud, and having them hear my voice on the radio is a dream come true.”

Metaphorically comparing the intoxicating effects of love with those of alcohol, Leatherwood delivers an upbeat anthem where the only cure for his swirling thoughts about what comes next is the continued presence of the girl he loves:

“Hung Up On You” is Leatherwood’s latest release as he continues to tease new music to come. Leatherwood was featured in Boot Barn’s 2024 spring campaign Taking Flight, a highlight on up-and-coming country musicians, and was also named a 2024 Artist to Watch by Music Mayhem and Country Now earlier this year.

After graduating college, the Woodstock, Georgia native competed on the NBC hit television show The Voice and was crowned the Season 22 winner and signed a management deal with Morris Higham Management in December 2022. Following his success on The Voice, Leatherwood began pursuing a full-time music career, inking a record deal with Republic Records and Mercury Nashville in October 2023.

Leatherwood concluded his first-ever headlining tour, The Neon Does Tour, and performed at CMA Fest’s Good Molecules Reverb Stage this summer, and will make his Grand Ole Opry debut next Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024.

Jenna Paulette Releases 13-Track Sophomore Album, ‘Horseback’

Working cowgirl and songstress Jenna Paulette has worn her authenticity on her sleeve throughout her career with a mix of grit and vulnerability. On her debut album The Girl I Was in 2023, Paulette candidly depicted her journey of self discovery following a toxic ten year relationship. Now, Paulette is arriving on the other side of that journey, with a project that reflects on all the experiences and values that have shaped her into that girl, with the release of her sophomore album, Horseback, available now via Leo33.

Listen to Horseback HERE.

“The Horseback album is a culmination of perspectives I have of myself—to the things my family instilled in me, the men and women I grew up with and the one’s I am blessed to be surrounded by where we live in a small town in West Texas,” shares Paulette. “A window into the way so many of us feel and the things we value.”

Consisting of 13 tracks, Horseback starts off with “Wild Is Her Favorite Color,” celebrating the freedom that comes with living authentically, before delving into “3 Kings,” a tip of her hat to the three kings that have influenced her lifestyle, “King George, King Ranch, King James.”

The album intertwines upbeat tracks, including previously released “Outside” and “Run The Damn Ball,” harkening back to the values of grit and hard work that Paulette has come to embody, with the heartbreak ballad “Chasin’ Whiskey” and empowering “Darlin,’” both of which signal the redemption of love lost and found again.

Having co-written eight of the 13 songs on the project, Paulette reflects on the songwriting and selection process, stating, “The songs were mostly inspired on the back of my horse driving cattle to the next pasture or set of pens. Sung into my phone in hopes of not forgetting the budding melody or thought. Out where there is enough room to think. Anything I didn’t write myself was most likely listened to on one bar of service in my husband’s dusty Dodge full of cowboys or horseback on the top of a hill looking for cows. I then put my heart and story into the lyric.

“So much has happened, so much good, since The Girl I Was. All I’ve got to say is the girl I was pretending to be before I got back to me…you ain’t getting that Horseback. The woman I am is here to stay. This album is a picture of who she was always meant to be.”

Perhaps the most poignant of all is Paulette’s title track, “Horseback,” which portrays Paulette arriving confident in this new era of her life. “The title track is my ‘Wide Open Spaces,’ my rebellion against the way people say things need to be…It’s the bridge between leaving somewhere and finding some place in what’s left of the middle of nowhere that is real and is home,” she shares.

To coincide with the album’s release, and in a partnership with Ely & Walker apparel company (Home of Ely Cattleman shirts), Jenna Paulette brings to life a functional working female cowboy collection called CowboyGirl. This collection addresses the need for functionality in the saddle, designed to offer all the same benefits that men need working cattle, but with a style that is vintage and feminine. Small details tie the CowboyGirl collection together and make it relative to today’s functional needs, while honoring generations past.

The collection will highlight two new ideologies: the State Flowers of Texas, where Jenna grew up, and Oklahoma, where Jenna’s family ranch was, and will be available exclusively at over 200 Boot Barn locations beginning November 1, 2024.
 About Jenna Paulette:
A CMT Next Women of Country honoree and an Apple Music’s Country Riser, singer-songwriter Jenna Paulette — a cowgirl who came of age amid the gritty realities of ranch life — is part of Nashville’s growing wave of female artists who are rewriting the rules and charting their own paths. Paulette settled in Nashville in 2015, where she struck up a mentorship with Ashley Gorley – a veteran songwriter with 70+ No. 1 tunes under his belt – which ultimately led to her publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music in June 2021. Since collaborating with songwriters Will Bundy, Rhett Akins and Jessie Jo Dillion, as well as opening for Mason Ramsey, Parmalee, John Michael Montgomery, Clay Walker and most recently Aaron Watson, Paulette has landed brand partnerships with Justin Boots, Boot Barn, Ely Cattleman and Ranch Water.

With the arrival of her debut album The Girl I Was in 2023, Grammy.com remarked the project as “transformative,” noting it “fuses the sounds of Twain and Miranda Lambert, tackling mental health with the somber ‘You Ain't No Cowboy’ and waxing philosophical on ‘Country In The Girl.’” She continued to spotlight her authentic western lifestyle last year, performing the national anthem at the National Finals Rodeo, making her Grand Ole Opry Debut and performing in multiple festivals including CMA Fest. Paulette recently signed with independent label Leo33. Paulette’s sophomore album, Horseback, is available everywhere now. For more information, visit www.jennapaulette.com.

Corey Kent Releases Sophomore Album ‘Black Bandana’

Sony Music Nashville artist Corey Kent has spent more than 15 years cutting his own path through a tangled wilderness of stumbles and setbacks … and never once come close to waving a white flag. The result…his sophomore album, Black Bandana, named a “Best Album” by NPR’s All Songs Considered with Rolling Stone noting his “charismatic vocals lift every song.” The platinum-selling Kent will kick off his headlining Black Bandana Tour on Sept. 21. Available now, listen to Black Bandana HERE

Kent also surprised fans today with the release of a music video for his current single, “Now or Never" featuring Lauren Alaina. The Tennessean calls the track a “steel guitar-aided ‘80s-style power ballad” and the video captures that spirit with the duo delivering angst and drama in the clip. Watch the video directed by Wales Toney below.

Title track “Black Bandana” helped set the tone for the album Billboard calls, “music for those whose lives have been seasoned by rocky times." Co-written with Rocky Block, Jordan Dozzi, and Brett Tyler, the slow-burning call to stand your ground pairs tender country-rock reverence with a big-picture mindset, helping tie all of Kent’s struggle, success, and plans for the future together. The album was almost finished when he wrote it, Kent says, but he was happy it “derailed” the project.

“It encapsulates the journey. The reason we’re here is because we didn’t give up, and the whole record is a call to action against all odds,” he explains. “When the going gets tough and everybody quits, you be the one that stays the course and never gives up. I think there’s a lot of people that relate with that.”

Co-writing six of Black Bandana’s 10 songs, what Kent ultimately wanted was to mix themes of integrity, resilience and family with a sonic setting befitting the mission. Finding the midway point between cinematic electric guitars and heart-pounding drums meet a warm, gravel-road rasp, as Kent brings classic rock into the present tense.

Other tracks fuse that “wave of black bandana” call to action with Kent’s let-it-ride mentality. The dark and smoky soul of “Ain’t Gonna to Lie” kicks the album off with a rough-edged ‘70s rock spirit for a tune that on the surface, finds a guy fessing up about the damage to his broken heart. But really, it’s another call to be unapologetically honest, in whatever you stand for.

Tunes like “Damn Good Country Song” beg for a chance to get destroyed by love, matching Kent’s tender growl with a bare minimum of back alley R&B production – just enough to make the torchy track strut. And while previously released  “Never Ready” emerges as a fully-realized full-circle ballad, with Kent acknowledging the fleeting nature of our most precious blessings, tracks like current single “Now or Never (feat. Lauren Alaina)” seek to strike while the romantic iron is hot – a seize-the-moment power duet built on orchestral “’80s hair metal ballad vibes.”

“Break Like That” smolders with a singalong promise of fidelity, and while “Rust” tributes a love that will weather the elements, tracks like “Nothing But Neon” and “This Heart” sway with somber classic rock heartache.

A Bixby, Oklahoma native now based in Dallas, the proud husband and father has become a decorated artist on the rise, growing from humble heartland roots into a Platinum certified Number One hit maker with 950 million career streams, and a black bandana on his neck. But today, that Black Bandana is more than an accessory – and not just the title track of his sophomore major-label album, which Music Row calls, “gently but unrelentingly uplifting.” It’s his rally cry.

“It started from riding motorcycles and wanting something over your face so you didn’t swallow a bug,” the singer-songwriter says. “But then it turned into a staple I wear on stage, and then a symbol of the path through my career, and life. Through all the ups and downs, the one constant thing was this relentless hope – this relentless pursuit of believing that if I don’t give up, I can get where I’m going.”

With a self-built story that has seen success and disaster, keeping that belief wasn’t always easy – but it’s been paying off. Rising from the vibrant Red Dirt country scene as the embodiment of authenticity, Kent set his sights on Nashville as a teen, bringing his self-penned catalog of country-rock anthems with him. But after the pandemic coincided with the loss of his first publishing deal, Kent was forced to move to Texas and get a job on a paving crew to pay the bills, yet he stubbornly refused to call music quits. Honky-tonks and dancehalls on both sides of the Red River became his stomping ground, and slowly but surely, the black bandana spirit grew.

Fast forward a few years and the hit single “Wild As Her” proved he was right all along. An untamed tribute to a free-spirited stunner, the track re-invigorated Kent’s career as a now Double-Platinum-certified No. 1 at country radio, and the lead single off his major label album debut, Blacktop. Despite never cracking country radio’s Top 40, Kent’s trust-your-gut second single “Something’s Gonna Kill Me” went Gold (and is now approaching Platinum status), proving his message was connecting. And momentum kept building, with Kent hitting the road alongside Jason Aldean, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum and more. Next-big-thing accolades came in from CMT, Opry Next Stage and more, but even as Kent became the most played new artist on country radio for all of 2023, he kept the underdog, who-cares-about-conventional-wisdom mentality. And so did his fans.

For Kent, the point was that his fans have the same independent spirit he does, and he took that lesson into his next chapter. Settled into his ranch in Texas and intent on being fully present as husband and father, while also achieving his dreams, his second album is all about finding balance, keeping clear eyes on what’s important – and waving that Black Bandana for all to see.

“We all face our own demons. We all face our own setbacks, and I hope this record serves as encouragement,” he says. “It would be really easy to lean on the past and go ‘Look at what I’ve done,’ but I’m still excited about the records I’ve yet to create. I’m excited about the shows I haven’t played yet. I’m excited about unlocking new levels of my craft, and writing more songs that people connect with deeply. …I still live for those moments.”

Kent is also connecting with friends on the road in his new podcast “Bus Call.” The podcast finds Kent chatting with everyone from country music star Bailey Zimmerman to 2023 Doak Walker Award winner, OSU Running Back Ollie Gordon. The Texas Troubadour and his guests share laughs, inspirational moments and talk through the ups and downs of both business and personal lifeListen to the first two episodes of season one now and stay tuned for a new episode each month.

The Oklahoma native will be joined by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts, Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on select dates for his headlining, international Black Bandana Tour, which kick-offs in Paso Robles, California on Sept. 21. The road warrior will trek across both the U.S. and U.K. with stops in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Dublin, London and more into early 2025. Tickets are on sale now. Purchase at coreykentofficial.com.

Klone Share Title Track From Forthcoming Record "The Unseen"

French art-rock band Klone have released the title track from their forthcoming full-length album, The Unseen, set for release on November 8 through Berlin's Pelagic Records. Pre-order it here.

A bold new journey through a singular yet contrasting soundscape, The Unseen is an immersive, dreamlike experience that pushes Klone's already sumptuous sound to new, magisterial heights and speaks to the significance of things that at first glance seem to lack it.

"The Unseen" (title track) is out now. Listen below

Emotive and conceptual, Klone have once again broken new sonic ground and built further on their signature expansive sound. Since the release of Le Grand Voyage in 2019, Klone have risen to new heights across the globe, touring in Europe, USA, Australia, and Mexico alongside the likes of Devin Townsend, Leprous, Riverside, Pain of Salvation, Gojira, and blowing away festival crowds at Hellfest 2024, Prog Power USA, Midsummer Prog, and Cruise to the Edge. Coming off the back of their phenomenal 2023 album Meanwhile, The Unseen is a masterpiece of both performance and production that sees Klone wearing their years of experience proudly on their sleeves.

With every member and every instrument pushed to its expressive limit, The Unseen has a might and intensity to it that, whilst sometimes abrasive, simultaneously feels natural, coherent and unified as the band move from motif and melody as one; guided as ever by the unmistakable voice and vision of Yann Ligner.

The album's title track sees Klone deftly balance musical melancholy with uplifting optimism as the five-piece build a lilting, 6/8 groove before dialing up the distortion to euphoric heights whilst Ligner’s words resound with a newly uncovered outpouring of lyrical vulnerability that celebrates the bittersweet beauty of the moment.

With such an inimitable 25 years of music already behind them, it seems apt that The Unseen is also Klone's tenth full-length release. The album serves as a milestone that uses reflections on the past as a means of appreciating the beauty of the present, with the band employing their shared decades of creativity and collaboration to offer enlightening new perspectives on the here and now.

Linger says, "'The Unseen' is a contemplative piece which takes time to fully open up. Musically, we tried to strike a delicate balance between melancholy and optimism and lyrically I tried to reflect the fleeting beauty of a vulnerable nature and, as such, the importance of embracing the present moment; whatever it may bring."

Blake Shelton and Warner Music Nashville Amicably Part Ways

Country Music Star Blake Shelton and Warner Music Nashville have parted ways following a record-setting and historic two-decade partnership.

“I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal,” said Shelton. "Along with the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some. It’s impossible to name everyone who has had a hand in all the success we enjoyed, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records and Warner Music Nashville staff and family.”

“Working alongside Blake these past 23 years has been an honor and a privilege,” said Warner Music Nashville. “Together, we’ve celebrated a record number of hit songs, sold-out tours and award wins. Blake's talent is undeniable, but that wit of his, and the countless moments of laughter he's given us remind us how fun this business of music can be. While our time together has come to an end, we count ourselves amongst his biggest fans and are grateful for the ride with this true gentleman and icon.”

Shelton burst onto the scene in 2001 with his No. 1 debut single, “Austin,” which began a string of 28 No. 1 singles, 11 Billion Global streams, 13 million albums, and 52 million singles sold. He won 10 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year and five consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year Awards, multiple ACM, AMA, CMT, People’s Choice awards and more.

UK avante pop artist NICK HUDSON shares 'Catherine In The Curate's Garden' from new Georgia-inspired album 'Kanda Teenage Honey'

“Beautifully written, recorded, produced and arranged... all complimented by vocal that lives up to the same standard. No cheating, no fronting, just honest crafted musicality”  ~ Billy Gould (Faith No More)

"Kanda Teenage Honey is shockingly emotional, thoughtfully orchestrated and wonderfully curious lyrically. It is a record for true music lovers" ~ Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu)

"A profound, clever and vividly confessional Avant-pop composer, Hudson is always pushing the envelope in his works, his unique musical output forged via musical territory that is hardly explored" ~ The Spill Magazine

"There isn’t really anyone making music like Nick Hudson“ ~ The Quietus

“A unique talent. His song writing and performances are breathtaking.  He is long overdue being heard by a wider audience. This solo album is a peak in an already stellar career” ~ Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai)

"Scott Walker channeling Coil” ~ MOJO Magazine

"Genius” - BBC Radio (BBC Introducing)

Brighton experimental artist Nick Hudson presents 'Catherine in the Curate's Garden', the latest audio-visual offering from his album 'Kanda Teenage Honey', an expansive 16-track collection recorded in a former Soviet movie studio in Georgia in the build-up to the country's current unrest, an explosive combination of circumstances that recently earned him coverage in Billboard.

"Originally, 'Catherine In The Curate's Garden' was a folk song, written eight years ago when I was living in an industrial unit on the south coast of England.  It never sat comfortably in those rustic garments and while writing 'Kanda Teenage Honey' it made itself known as a simmering, swampy, gothic art rock piece.  I asked my friend Stuart Dahlquist of Asva/Sunn O))) and Burning Witch to grace it with his inimitable bass tone and we subjected the drums to some infernal alchemy," says Nick Hudson.

"The lyrics narrate the de-martyring of two saints - Sebastiane and Catherine, who shame and dispose of the curate who has judged and condemned them, before conjoining in sexual and romantic ecstasy in a throng of lupine cheerleaders.  Call it biblical speculative fiction if you will, with a queered-up slant.  This is echoed in the video wherein we recreated a sequence from Carl Dreyer's vanguard silent film 'The Passion Of Joan Of Arc' (1928) - I actually storyboarded this sequence and we shot it frame for frame in a junkyard in Tbilisi, with my Russian gangster rapper friend Tex2ra (yes, a male) as Joan and a host of Pasolinian non-actors cast for their compelling visages and on-screen energies."

This follows Hudson's most recent videos for 'Unspent Youthand 'Sky Burial While Alive'featuring a prologue text on dictators, spoken by Alfreda Benge - collaborator and wife of legendary British composer Robert Wyatt. The video was filmed at the Bologna villa used in the Pasolini's film 'Salo' (itself a notorious and damning critique of fascism) and in Tbilisi with a cast of international performers.

Having earlier previewed the singles 'For My Silence' and 'Khevsureti', this album was born of geographical explorations amidst musical territory that is hardly touched on. Mixed by and featuring Toby Driver of Kayo Dot, this album involves such luminaries as Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite, Stuart Dahlquist (Asva, Burning Witch, Sunn O))), Lizzy Carey (Bat For Lashes), Robert Wyatt collaborator Alfreda Benge, Christopher Nell (legendary German performer and collaborator of US theatre visionary Robert Wilson), and soprano prodigy Poppy Efemey.

Recorded with Ilya Lukashev at Leno Studio and Sano Studio in Tbilisi, this album was mastered to analogue tape by Paul Pascoe (Barry Adamson, Beat Hotel, Sleaford Mods) at Church Road Studios in Hove, Hudson collaborates with some incredible Georgian musicians and his friend Seva, a Russian dissident who fled the FSB, having worked for Navalny. Hudson explains, "He contributes a poem narrating his thoughts on exile, through which I've layered field recordings of the recent Tbilisi and Paris protests, where many of us got tear-gassed."

Watch it below. And there's puppets.

The song addresses the toxicity that has become omnipresent in the online space, where so many people spend far too much time these days. The track considers the effects of the virtual world 's toxicity — especially when it spills over into the real world.

The tour is an "Evening With Starset" and kicks off August 31 in the band's native Columbus, Ohio and runs through September 25 in Indianapolis. NYC artist JOE GENI unveils new single 'City of Light', a beacon of hope previewing third album

"Captivating lyrics, woven into a tapestry of cinematic orchestration, mirror the dynamic interplay of life's experiences, urban evolution, and societal shifts. Built with operatic grandeur, the song's richly orchestrated foundation provides a soaring platform for stunning vocals that capture the essence of our times" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Following the singles 'City of Energy' and 'City Where The Sky Subsides', New York-based indie-pop artist Joe Geni presents his new single 'City of Light', which highlights the power of human connection and resilience, and reflects on the solace found in friendship and community during recent lockdowns and the renewed hope that emerged as the world began to heal.

This single previews Geni's third album 'Cities Built Upon Cities', which traces the transformation of Long Island City, the part of Queens that Geni calls home, situated across the East River from Manhattan with its stunning skyline views. Now booming with skyscrapers, this place is now haunted by its industrial past and friends who have moved on, revealed in these recordings, which explore themes of change, impermanence, and feeling lost amidst the city's constant evolution.

This album, was produced, mixed and mastered in Brooklyn by Charlie Nieland, a well-respected sound engineer and producer, known for his work with Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Blondie, Dead Leaf Echo, Oh Halo and Scissors Sisters, in addition to scores, including the feature film 'The Safety of Objects' starring Glenn Close. Awarded a Gold record (UK) for his production of Blondie's 'Greatest Hits Sight & Sound', Nieland also achieved a Top 10 Billboard Dance Chart Position with Debbie Harry's single 'Two Times Blue', which he co-wrote and produced.

"My previous album 'Doggerland' was about climate change, but the pandemic hit mid-recording, so much of the album ended up being about that. When the album came out, I got a call from my mom. She said, “The album is wonderful but, speaking as your mother, are you OK?” So I resolved to write something more positive," says Joe Geni.

"Lockdowns were still on, and the world was quite scary. But I had a friend in the neighborhood and we began taking walks and getting coffee whenever chance and schedule allowed, and watching the goings on. And there were a lot: the clanging of new construction, the mess of wires spilling off unfinished buildings, the sounds of birthdays in the park, of protests in the street. And as the pandemic abated and something vaguely resembling normal life began to re-emerge, I, like one of our tiny mammalian ancestors crawling out of its burrow after the meteor that wiped out the non-avian dinosaurs, felt a burst of energy, and a feeling that that really in spite of everything we will be OK. Maybe."

Originally hailing from Evanston, Illinois, Geni has lived in NYC for most of his adult life (mostly in Long Island City), working various jobs around the United Nations. Making music that soundtracks the Anthropocene, Geni tries to capture what it’s like to search for home in a world that is constantly changing. Exploring the complex relationship between humanity and our environment, he channels these ideas and emotions into sound.

Since emerging on the music scene with his 2019 debut album 'After Wandering Empire', Geni released his 'Doggerland' album in 2021, both of which were also produced by Charlie Nieland. With a distinct, instantly recognizable voice (a blisteringly high tenor with a 3.5 octave range), he has a knack for communicating complex ideas through his lyrics, ruminating on themes related to international affairs, climate change, demography, transportation and urban infrastructure, but also the grand sweep of the human experience, including love, regret, modern art and even dinosaurs.

'City of Light' is out now everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the 'Cities Built Upon Cities' album (out October 4) is available for pre-order.

Bodysnatcher Unleash New EP 'Vile Conduct' + Drop "Say Goodbye" Music Video via MNRK Heavy

Floridian heavy hitters Bodysnatcher have released their new EP 'Vile Conduct' and the official music video for "Say Goodbye" (via MNRK Heavy). Altogether, the tracks have amassed a staggering 1.7 million streams on Spotify alone and 582k views and counting on YouTube. Speaking about the EP, the band commented:

"'Vile Conduct' to us is a culmination of all of the different struggles people in general can be subject to, or can inflict on others. Whether it be personal struggles, loss, hatred toward humanity, etc. These are all human-specific. We feel these kinds of things will always be important to talk about and bring to the surface for not just the listener, but for us individually so that we can try to heal the best we know how to."

Drawing their name from the infamous Plainfield Ghoul, Ed Gein, Bodysnatcher know a thing or two about darkness, brutality and aggression. Since their 2014 inception in Melbourne, Florida, Bodysnatcher have been bringing nothing but the finest in furious, extreme music. Combining crushing breakdowns with eerie ambience, scathing riffs and grisly grooves, the band have become synonymous with “heavy,” invoking violence in every city they happen to visit, spawning mosh pits that leave nothing but craters in their wake.

With each release, Bodysnatcher have added depth to their dynamic, proving they are an ever-growing and changing act with the singular purpose of absolutely obliterating the listener. In 2015, mere months after their formation, the act exploded into the worldwide underground with the release of their debut EP, Abandonment. Considered one of the “Rushmore” releases of the American Downtempo wave, Abandonment took Bodysnatcher around the country, delivering breakdowns and broken bones to venues from Southern Florida to California. The band’s debut full-length that followed, Death of Me (Stay Sick Records), saw the band mature from their modest downtempo roots into something more diverse and devastating, incorporating a blend of contemporary metal and hardcore elements to create something that saw Bodysnatcher start to blur conventional genre lines. Death of Me would skyrocket the band’s notoriety even higher, including a headlining west coast tour with Extortionist (Unique Leader Records) in support. Almost immediately after the release of Death of Me, Bodysnatcher underwent a significant lineup change, bringing aboard Chris Whited (King Conquer, 1776 Recordings) as percussionist and producer alongside Kyle Carter (Beacons) and Kyle Shope (Float Face Down) on guitar and bass respectively. With all three of them working alongside the titanic range and unmistakable vitriol of frontman Kyle Medina as songwriters, a deluxe re-release of their debut LP featuring five all-new songs followed not long after the line-up was cemented. Those songs segued Bodysnatcher into a new sound and style that would not full materialize until their two follow-up releases, This Heavy Void (2020) and Bleed-Abide (2022). These records together would not only see the band signing with premier heavy music label MNRK Heavy, but would also highlight the band’s unique ability to blend harrowingly personal tales of love and loss with blistering aggression. Between This Heavy Void’s Twelve/Seventeen and Bleed-Abide’s Smashed Perception, the band seemed to encompass the alpha and omega of all things eviscerating—emotionally or, well, literally.

Since Bleed-Abide, Bodysnatcher have continued their tireless grind, touring across the country with the likes of AngelMaker, Hatebreed, Dying Fetus, Emmure, We Came as Romans and more—and spending plenty of time inoculating overseas lands with their unique concoction of crushing brutality as well. 2024 witnesses the band depart for not one, but two colossal ventures with former label mates SPITE—across both Europe and the continental United States.

From their earnest beginnings as one of the United States’ premiere exporters of bludgeoning, beefy breakdowns to now one of the country’s most renowned heavy music exports, Bodysnatcher are a peerless example of hard work, dedication and—of course—devastating heaviness. - Connor Welsh

ABOUT BEHEMOTH:

In the annals of metal there is no band more synonymous with an unswerving commitment to the single-minded defiance of expectation than BEHEMOTH. Over the course of their remarkable 33-year career, these Polish hellraisers – spearheaded by Adam Darski, aka Nergal – are more than just the architects of their country’s legendary extreme metal scene. Over the course of over three decades and twelve albums, Nergal’s singular vision has forged BEHEMOTH into something far more than a mere black metal band. Beyond any confines of genre, they have grown to become nothing less than the personification of rebellion, individuality and unflinching self-expression informed by a literate worldview and worldliness that’s resulted in a locking of horns with everything from the mainstream press to the Polish Catholic church – most notably manifesting in Nergal’s trial for blasphemy in 2010 that only served to expose the deep-seated hypocrisies that his music seeks to challenge.
