DARK FUNERAL has previously commented about the special edition, “In January 1994, Blackmoon (RIP) and I put our entire income and savings into a recording session and pressing 1,000 copies of our 4-track debut Mini-CD. A Mini-CD we released ourselves too. To now reach the significant milestone with an epic 30th anniversary is of course very honorable for me & the band. Three decades of Swedish Black Metal filled with precious memories. It is now time for us to reflect on what started it all, a 30-year epic journey, filled with experiences and an unbreakable bond. Unprocessed Release New Single "Sacrifice Me" + Official Music Video

German prog metal powerhouse Unprocessed is back with their new anthemic track "Sacrifice Me" and the accompanying music video, setting the stage for what promises to be another exciting chapter in the band's musical journey. Speaking about today's release, guitarist and vocalist Manuel Gardner Fernandes shares:

"We're already moving into a new era of Unprocessed and the inspiration just kept on flowing after we released '...And Everything In Between'. "Sacrifice Me" is a modern metal anthem that displays a darker, melancholic side of us that we haven't shared too much of in the past."

When asked about the inspiration behind the track, bassist David Levy also commented:

"'Sacrifice Me' is the first time we’re going out of our way to make bold punchlines and breakdowns in the spirit of modern metalcore. "Sacrifice Me" is a way to describe unconditional love and the willingness to give up everything for someone, almost masochistically. The protagonist wants to suffer for his significant other to show true, selfless affection."

Tia Sillers Signs Publishing Deal with Toby & Molly Music

Publishing company Toby & Molly Music announces today the signing of Grammy Award-winning songwriter Tia Sillers to their roster.
 
“I met Tia when I moved to town in 2005, we became instant friends. She has remained a constant mentor since the day we met, so when she called me last fall to tell me she wanted to work with me officially, I was blown away,” recalls Toby & Molly Music co-founder Rob Filhart. “Clint and I are such fans of her songwriting. Her talent is second to none, she will not be outworked and her songs are timeless. We are honored to work with her in this next chapter of her career.”  
 
“Robert is not only one of my closest friends, he’s got the best ears in town,” Sillers shares. “He’s been largely responsible in helping me remain faithful to my craft and has been a huge supporter of my music. ROLO TOMASSI TO RELEASE NEW LIVE ALBUM "LIVE AT THE ELECTRIC BALLROOM" OUT SEPTEMBER 27, 2024

UK Progressive metal band Rolo Tomassi announce a new live album, Live at The Electric Ballroom, to be released on September 27, 2024, via MNRK Heavy.  The 15-track project was recorded from a headlining show on February 15, 2023, at London’s Electric Ballroom. The set showcases Rolo Tomassi at their most dynamic and mesmerizing.

   

The first single, Aftermath, is out today. Originally released on 2018’s Time Will Die and Love Will Bury It, this live version intensifies the melodic and sweeping soundscape.  

Vocalist/keyboardist James Spence says, “Since its release, this song has been an audience favourite along with a rare opportunity for a sing-along. It remains an outlier in our material, but in the context of a full set, it always feels like an elevated moment. Defeated Sanity have pushed the boundaries of extreme metal for 30 odd years. The band execute jazz-infused chaos with mind-bending precision, while also slamming together so many memorable breakdowns that they cracked the Billboard charts. Their upcoming seventh album still hits from every odd angle, but on Chronicles of Lunacy, these technical maniacs return to sheer brutality.  

“The last few DS albums leaned heavily on the proggier side of our sound”, says the band's drummer and founding member Lille Gruber. “We still like to experiment, but on our new album, we wanted to get back to the raw slamming that our fans love about Psalms of the Moribund or Chapters of Repugnance”.

Just like the rivers of hell, "The Odour of Sanctity" comes pouring out the speakers in a never-ending stream of filth. Guttural vocals spew through a churning mix of chunky riffs, hiccuping drum fills and a cavernous low-end. "We wanted to keep some of the fidelity that's associated with modern death metal", the band says, "but Chronicleshas more of the raw production style that stood out on Psalms and Chapters". 

To dig back into the brutal mindset that long-time fans have come to crave, in January 2024, Defeated Sanity returned to Thousand Cave Studios. The underground New York City hotspot was also the excavation site for The Sanguinary Impetus, which dumped a fresh layer of dirt on the more "polished" production of Passages Into Deformity. Except this time around, the band encouraged producer Colin Marston to really get his hands dirty.

"The Odour of Sanctity" stinks to high heaven. New guitarist Vaughn Stoffey shreds with such gross speed that even the old school heads will be spinning around like The Exorcist. Of course, the ungodly pace is still set by the whip of Lille Gruber. He opens the song as if puncturing a wound, hammering out blast beats that are as merciless as the nails of the cross.  

"Lille's drumming is just ridiculous", says Jacob Schmidt, whose belching bass lines give "Odour" a oddball bounce. "He's the face of the DS franchise. So even though Chronicles is more slamming and straightforward, the weird, hyper-technical experiments still found a way into the mix".

Plenty of knuckle-dragging awaits within its stomach-turning twists, but Chronicles of Lunacy isn't Defeated Sanity for dummies. Heck, the album's concept is wrapped up in the many malicious ways that delusional thinking can rot the human psyche. "Each song deals with a different strain of mental corruption", says Josh Welshman. "Odour" stinks of religious fanaticism. After a brutal showing on Sanguinary, Welshman returns with a vengeance. "A miracle defiled / Fraudulently wrought", he summons with a demonic growl as the band open up the pit with a brutal breakdown. 

"In true DS fashion, 'Odour' showcases the full range of our sound", the band says. "It's freaky but also unrelentingly brutal, which represents the crossroad that we ended up at on Chronicles of Lunacy. Even though the album can get pretty fucking weird, there's still a emphasis on straight-up slamming".

None of their albums are ever going to follow a straight line, but on Chronicles of Lunacy, Defeated Sanity return to sheer brutality.

In 2019, Paisty Jenny collaborated with multi-platinum producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down, Sevendust) and Michael Beck (Jake E Lee's Red Dragon Cartel)to reach new heights in their musical journey. The result was their acclaimed CD, 18 Days In Weed, recorded at Massy’s Loud Palace in Weed, California, and released on March 30, 2019.

The band's first official radio release, "ANYTHING," produced by Michael Beck, made a significant impact, debuting at #3 on the FMQB ACC for most station adds, second only to Nickelback, and climbing to #90 nationwide in total plays.

Their follow-up single, "CRIMINAL," became the first from the Massy/Beck sessions to rise to #54 on the MEDIABASE Active Rock Indie Label Report. It also qualified for consideration in multiple categories at the 56th Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rock Performance.

Paisty Jenny continued their momentum with subsequent singles, "LET IT GO" and "HIGH," both reaching #137 on the BDS Mainstream Rock Indicator Chart, solidifying their presence in the rock music scene.

ALBORN is a hard hitting yet melodic alternative metal band based in Northern Illinois. Their resume includes sharing the stage with Shinedown, All That Remains, Sevendust, Nonpoint, Badflower, Powerman 5000, Buckcherry, Adelitas Way, Gemini Syndrome, Plush and others. ALBORN released their debut EP, Impairative in 2020. Follow up singles “Full Circle”, “Cause to Create” and “Hindsight” took them through 2021 and had initial success including Spotify's “Rock Hard” playlist, SiriusXM Octane, Music Choice as well as terrestrial radio rotation.

To round out 2022, the band did more writing and flew to Las Vegas to work with Chris Collier and James “Fluff” Harley. In March 2023, ALBORN hit the road for 18 days providing direct support to Powerman 5000 while ALBORN’s new single, “Push” started at radio. The single was a big hit, even charting on Billboard's Top 40 for Mainstream Rock.

In 2024, to follow up their incredible success, ALBORN again went to Las Vegas to join Collier and Harley. This time the team recorded 4 songs the band feels is the best brand of ALBORN yet. The first of these, “A Little Less Than Expected (Show Me)” releases 8/9/24. To support this, the band is continuing to rock the Midwest including Rockfest in Cadott, WI and providing direct support to All That Remains in East Moline, IL.

"American Idol” Winner Iam Tongi is on the “Road to Hana”

“American Idol” Season 21 winner and Hawaii native, Iam Tongi releases new track, “Road to Hana”  via 19 Recordings. Co-written by Tongi, the song is a love letter to the islands where he grew up. Listen to “Road to Hana” Below .
 
Recorded in Nashville at Soultrain Sound Studios, Tongi says of the song, “I’ve always been proud of my heritage and where I was raised. Hawaii is such a big place with so many beautiful secret destinations. There’s a few however that are known around the world. The road to Hana is 64.4 miles of untouched beauty. This song is a celebration of that beauty and everything it has to offer.”

At just 18-years old when he auditioned, the Hawaiian born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist won hearts around the world and brought Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan, to tears with his emotional performance of James Blunt's "Monsters," dedicated to his father Rodney who had recently passed away - watch it HERE. Whiskey Myers Celebrate 5 New RIAA Certifications During "Fox & Friends" All-American Summer Concert Series

While appearing live on the “Fox & Friends” All-American Summer Concert Series today, Aug. 9, genre-bending band Whiskey Myers added to their Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) hardware with a surprise presentation of five new Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum certifications (denoted with asterisks below), bringing their total to nine RIAA-certified hits, a rare feat for an independent band:

Singer/Songwriter Angie K Signs with Wasserman for Worldwide Representation

Wasserman Music has signed 2024 CMT Listen Up Artist Angie K to its talent roster. She will be represented by Wasserman's Nate Ritches for worldwide representation.

Jenna Paulette Releases “Run The Damn Ball” off Upcoming Album ‘Horseback’

“Run The Damn Ball” is the latest preview of Paulette’s upcoming sophomore album Horseback, arriving Sept. 6 via Leo33. A culmination of all aspects of her life that have shaped her, including heartbreak and newfound love, Horseback further expands on her debut album The Girl I Was.
