Publishing company Toby & Molly Music announces today the signing of Grammy Award-winning songwriter Tia Sillers to their roster.
“I met Tia when I moved to town in 2005, we became instant friends. She has remained a constant mentor since the day we met, so when she called me last fall to tell me she wanted to work with me officially, I was blown away,” recalls Toby & Molly Music co-founder Rob Filhart. “Clint and I are such fans of her songwriting. Her talent is second to none, she will not be outworked and her songs are timeless. We are honored to work with her in this next chapter of her career.”
“Robert is not only one of my closest friends, he’s got the best ears in town,” Sillers shares. “He’s been largely responsible in helping me remain faithful to my craft and has been a huge supporter of my music. The thought of working with him and Clint has me feeling hopeful about both my future and the songs I will write.”
With over 40 singles and more than 30 million records sold worldwide containing Sillers’ compositions, her songs run the genre gamut from country to heavy metal — whether it be Alan Jackson’s “That’d Be Alright,” Five Finger Death Punch’s rendition of “Blue On Black,” or Machine Gun Kelly recently performing her song “There’s Your Trouble” at CMA Fest.
With writer credits including The Chicks’ “There’s Your Trouble” and Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s “Blue On Black,” Sillers’ “I Hope You Dance,” recorded by Lee Ann Womack, received worldwide exposure, including the Nobel Prize awards ceremony. The song was adapted into a New York Times Best Selling book written by Sillers and her co-writer, Mark D. Sanders. In addition to winning Song of the Year at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards, “I Hope You Dance” was named Song of the Year by CMA, ACM, NSAI, ASCAP and BMI.
Sillers helped cement Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s standing in the rock and blues scene with 1996’s “Deja Voodoo” and has written multiple hits which he recorded, including the title track to his 2019 record, “The Traveler.” Sillers’ work has also won Canadian CMA awards for artists such as Johnny Reid and Victoria Banks, landing her three nominations for the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her latest recorded work is Reba McEntire’s new single, “I Can’t.”
Her catalog has spanned genre, geography and generations of recording artists, including David Nail, Trisha Yearwood, John Waite, Engelbert Humperdinck, Yolanda Robun, Little River Band, Patti Page, John Pardi, Jennifer Lopez, Bastian Baker, Chris Stapleton, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Vince Gill.
Sillers will make her Grand Ole Opry debut on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
