FLOYA like to infuse hope into each track they release. Their latest single, "Drift," is no exception. The duo elevates listeners with powerful, airy synths, Marv's guitar riffs, and Phil's angelic voice.

"Drift" is filled with genre-bending moments and conveys a clear message: Do what you love; there's not enough time for anything else.

"I don't think I've ever written a song this honest before," says singer Phil. "I've grappled with ambivalent emotions toward my career, to be completely transparent. There were moments when I doubted whether I could continue doing what I love. I turned my back on music for a while and, as a result, lost a significant part of my identity. 'Drift' is about precisely that: Dealing with ambivalence, overcoming doubts, and enabling you to continue doing what you love."

Floya will release their debut album, Yume scheduled to drop on March 8. Pre-orders will launch this coming Friday!

Th album was recorded and produced by Chris Kempe (Embark Audio), and mastered by Robin Schmidt.

Caught between the stomping beats and airy synths of the EDM world and the overall feel of a modern rock band, FLOYA are a truly special duo. 

Hailing from Germany, Marv Wilder and Phil Bayer found common ground by talking about their childhood influences, namely Peter Gabriel, U2, and Sting. With the vision in mind to fuse a fresh pop rock sound with the aesthetics of EDM and world music, the pair set out to showcase what's rarely found on todays music market. 

After the successful launch of "The Hymn," the song was featured in an official AFL game between Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs on Australian Television, marking quite the achievement for an act that’s been public for only a few months.

In two decades, four albums and an EP were released: Dark Space -I to Dark Space III I. The band rarely appeared live.

In 2019 Zorgh quit while the band was awarded the Music Prize of the Canton of Berne for the creation of their soundscapes and their atmospheric performances.

In 2022 Yhs joined Wroth and Zhaaral to complete the three again.

19 Recordings and BMG are thrilled to announce the signing of pop vocalist, performer and songwriter Haven Madison.

Performing her own original songs like the wistful “Fifteen” and heartfelt “Still Need You” that she wrote about her brother’s fight against depression and suicide, Haven earned instant and ample praise from all the judges - Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie - and even guest judge Ed Sheeran throughout her run on the show. 

Growing up on the road, touring the country with her father, Jason Roy, the lead singer of the GRAMMY-nominated Christian band Building429, Haven has always had a passion for music, which was evident from the first time she performed in her church choir. Writing and recording in her spare time, Haven, as as high schooler, even wrote and sang on Building429’s song “Different.” 

Having released music independently since 2020, her already impressive discography as a talented up-and-coming singer-songwriter includes tracks “Already Gone” and “Therapy” as well as an EP titled All The Things I Didn’t Say.  

Managed by Third Wave Music Group, headed by veteran music manager Gabe Vasquez, Haven Madison will release her label debut tracks very soon.

During an XXX-mas shopping excursion in NYC, members Andromeda Anarchia, Zac Ezrin, and Brendan McGowan raided the iconic Purple Passion Sex Shop in New York City and are now showcasing their exciting finds with a spicy "What's in My Bag" feature. ICYMI: Folterkammer recently announced their new union with Century Media Records and unveiled a BDSM inspired new single, "Das Peitschengedicht," which celebrates the female empowerment of whip-wielding Femdoms. The powerful track can be found along with a lyric video, which was created by Folterkammer drummer and video director Brendan McGowan, below.

The single is taken from the band's forthcoming album, which serves as a counterpart to their 2020 debut, 'Die Lederpredigt.' The new record is another searing blend of modern black metal and classical music elements, lending to its Avant Garde sound. The music itself is elevated by frontwoman and vocalist Andromeda Anarchia's dynamic vocal work as she juxtaposes her classical training as an opera singer with her hellfire screams, summoning a maelstrom of ethereal chaos. Speaking on the empowering themes of the "Das Peitschengedicht" and forthcoming record, Andromeda Anarchia eloquently explains, "This song is our kinky ode to the whip as a torture instrument, and a celebratory hymn to the practices of BDSM, particularly, Femdom. The whip, a symbol of domination, pain and humiliation, is described here not only as playful and kinky, but as a poetic enactment of pain through the depiction of female ferocity on a submissive man, whose back the Domme uses like a canvas.

"It is about this sensual overdrive of stimulation and literally describes the lustful use of a whip as a kind of 'calligraphy brush' to write a poem. The dominatrix verbally humiliates her subject while blood runs down his spine; his blood is the ink with which she paints and signs her artwork of pain and ecstasy.

"The song bridges both musically and thematically the old album (regarding a vicious, violent, and abusive 'Bad Domme' goddess) and the new one (featuring a badass, erotic 'Good Domme'). This opens a new chapter with a change defined not only by the expanded instrumentation and new songwriting styles, but also by the way the described dominant female protagonist treats her subordinates and has refined her skills in humiliation games. It's no longer about being a vicious, exploitative deity, but about being a sensual, naughty, self-confident, kinky lady who knows exactly what she wants, who celebrates female power, who sometimes flirts and cleverly provokes with historical and mythological anecdotes, and even more with her charm and sass.

"This bridging of the debut album and the new album is also reflected in the aesthetics of the video. In the words of our drummer and music video director Brendan McGowan: 'The 'Das Peitschengedicht' video sets the dominating lyrics to footage from the 1922 classic 'Haxan' - whose famous images of devils and demons often overshadow the wicked women within it and their blasphemous behavior.'"

Kublai Khan TX Announce Spring 2024 Headline Tour

KUBLAI KHAN TX have announced their Spring 2024 headline tour. The tour kicks off March 27 in Albuquerque and runs through April 21 in Philadelphia. All dates are below.

Sunami, Judiciary, and Momentum are also set to appear on the bill, which will lay waste to all venues it encounters.

"We haven't done a proper headline tour in four long years," the band says. "It's time to bring it back with some of the best bands we can bring with us. This is the first wave. See y'all soon."

Atoll Announce New Album 'Inhuman Implants' Out February 23 via Unique Leader Records

Extreme metal quintet Atoll has today announced their new upcoming album 'Inhuman Implants' set for release on February 23 (via Unique Leader Records). Their composition favors a "riff piling" approach rather than the more common and simplistic verse-chorus-verse arrangement, giving the music something of a progressive element with very few repeated riffs, and less predictable movements. Atoll has remained a staple in the metal fest scene, and you may have caught them live playing with the likes of Skinless, Gorgasm, Ingested, and Aborted. Their love of the tour bus life and an importance placed on always having the highest quality, high-energy performances have gained them a reputation for being a consistent, unrelenting live force.

April 2014 birthed this bulbous abomination that has grown into the mighty Atoll when they conspired to create percussive, not frills, chugging brutality. The band immediately shot up in the local AZ scene and very quickly began to expand their live performances throughout the southwest United States, building up momentum for their 2016 debut album, and straight up slammer, The Gathering Swarm. Produced by the late Griffin “The Father” Kolinski (Knights Of The Abyss) and Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me) the album was quickly picked up and released by Amputated Vein subsidiary, Ghastly Music. 

The initial success of their debut album caught the eye of Gorehouse Productions who went on to release the 2017 sophomore album, Fallout Frenzy. The vocals on this album show significant expanse in dynamic range, incorporating highs, mids, and some of the most nasty gutterals you’ll ever hear. Lyrically Fallout Frenzy expanded further on the origins of the band name, embracing themes of the atom bomb tests of Bikini Atoll in the 1950’s, and the subsequent radioactive fallout and mutations that occurred after the bombings. 

The critically acclaimed album, Zoopocalypse is released in 2019 through Gorehouse Productions. This album is in-your-face aggression from front to back. A departure from the more rudimentary slams of their earlier works, Zoo implements more technicality, more tremolo and scaling, mathier leads, and a generally more advanced death metal sound that would represent the direction of the band moving forward. The mix/master was completed by Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings (Analepsy, Organectomy), and features a guest vocal spot from Matti Way (Disgorge, Abominable Putridity, Pathology)

During the global limbo of lockdown Atoll was able to strike a deal with the legendary Unique Leader Records, and in 2022 put out the Prepuce EP. The mini-release serves as a taster of things to come as Atoll has completed the production of two upcoming full-length albums, scheduled to drop through Unique Leader in 2023 and 2024. This two-part release will be the most technically ambitious to date. Keep your eyes peeled on the tour front, and ears open because, like an atomic tsunami, Atoll is primed to decimate the masses.

VIPASSI Release New Single w/ Full-Band Playthrough

VIPASSI laid the groundwork for their  mind-bending instrumental passages back in 2017, when they debuted Śūnyatā. The Australian  quartet built on that solidly progressive foundation last month with the release of "Phainesthai", the first single and keystone of their new album Lightless. 

Today, the band are handing us another key. "Labyrinthine Hex" weaves a maze of intricate melodies and rhythmic complexities into a symphony of emotions.

The accompanying studio playthrough reveals not only the technical virtuosity of each member but also their telepathic chemistry. Watching the way they play off each other, it's no wonder that Vipassi can spin epic stories without uttering a word.

In Buddhist tradition, VIPASSI is the twenty-second of the twenty-eight Buddhas. Etymologically, the name has its roots in clear vision – a being of extreme contemplation. The band of the same name is a world-spnning instrumental extreme metal band from the lands of Australia, France and the UK.

With members of acts such as Ne Obliviscaris, Black Lava, Hadal Maw & Virvum, their work on the 2017 debut album ‘Sunyata’, which has a loose signification of Emptiness or Void, set the grounds for a technically impressive and fully instrumental exploration of sonic textures in what can best be described as – a divine experience reaching the depths of the human soul.

Originally made as a project between Daniel Presland (Drums) and Ben Boyle (Guitars) as far back as 2007 to explore new concepts and sounds not currently engaged by their projects at the time, the band has since then grown and expanded to an international connection of like-minded musicians and virtuosos with Arran McSporran (Fretless Bass) and Benjamin Baret (Guitars).

Further exploring their labyrinthine textures and layers of sounds, the band VIPASSI is back with their sophomore album ‘Lightless’. The album shifts from the realm of the void towards a clash of light and dark – and sees the band expanding into even more technical and experimental realms, pushing the limits of their own ideas and abilities to heights unimagined when the band began all those years ago.

The digital edition of Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 Live At The Hollywood Bowl features 52 performances including 13 digital-only bonus tracks exclusive to this release. So far, four preview tracks have been released including Dave Matthews (who inducted Willie into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last month) doing "Funny How Time Slips Away," The Avett Brothers (who joined Willie earlier this fall for his yearly Outlaw Festival tour) performing "Pick Up The Tempo," Willie's son Lukas Nelson delivering a gorgeous version of "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground" and a just-released, all-star chorus of dozens of guests joining Willie for a rendition of "On The Road Again" coupled with "Happy Birthday."
 
The deluxe 2CD+Blu-ray edition of Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 Live At The Hollywood Bowl includes three-hours of video performances from the concert along with three video bonus performances, 39 audio tracks and a multi-page booklet. A 2xLP vinyl edition featuring select highlights from the event will also be available Friday, Dec. 15. Both configurations can be pre-ordered and singles can be previewed HERE.
 
2023 has proved a banner year for Willie, who recorded two new studio albums for Legacy: I Don't Know a Thing About Love (Willie's musical tribute to legendary American songwriter Harlan Howard, released in March) and Bluegrass (Willie performing 12 of his favorite self-penned classics with a bluegrass ensemble). Released Sept. 15, Willie's Bluegrass entered the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart (Sept. 30) at No. 1, marking his first appearance on the chart in its 21-year history. Willie's roots-inspired album has been nominated for the Grammy Award in the Best Bluegrass Album category.
 
In February, Willie took home two Grammys at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards including Best Country Album for A Beautiful Time. Over the course of his career, Willie Nelson has earned, among innumerable prestigious honors, 12 Grammy Awards including their Lifetime Achievement Award.
 
On Nov. 3, Willie Nelson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. "This year's incredible group of Inductees reflects the diverse artists and sounds that define rock & roll," said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, who noted that the Induction Ceremony coincided "with two milestones in music culture; the 90th birthday of Willie Nelson and the 50th Anniversary of the birth of Hip Hop." A broadcast edit of the 38th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will air on ABC from 8-11pm ET on Jan. 1, 2024.

SABATON'S "HISTORY ROCKS" PROJECT DEEMED TREMENDOUS SUCCESS BY MUSEUMS AROUND THE WORLD

SABATON’s recently concluded “History Rocks” museum charity project, which revolved around the global premiere of the heavy metal band’s animated film, "The War To End All Wars - The Movie", was a resounding success according to participating museums.

Developed in partnership with Yarnhub Animation Studios, “The War To End All Wars – The Movie” weaves together the World War 1 stories behind SABATON's powerful songs on their most recent studio album, “The War To End All Wars”. 

The “History Rocks” charity initiative was developed to raise awareness on the importance of history and encourage more people to visit and support their local museums. The aim of the band donating their film for this project was to boost the visibility of museums around the world and introduce them to a new and previously untapped audience made up of Sabaton’s huge fanbase, which comprises millions of metalheads and history buffs.

140 museums big and small spanning 30 countries participated in screenings from November 4-19, 2023. The film captivated audiences worldwide, sparking a resurgence of interest in historical narratives through the lens of heavy metal. According to feedback, the maximum number of screenings held by a museum over the two-week period (November 4-19)  stood at 72, with some museums reporting up to 1,200 visitors in total who were visiting solely to watch the movie.

Following a successful collaboration with SABATON and the band’s “History Rocks” charity initiative, Nancy Bentley, curator and event coordinator, Hutchings Museum, Lehi (Utah, USA), enthusiastically shared: "This was one of the most exciting projects we’ve ever participated in. We were excited about it but couldn't have anticipated how it exceeded expectations! The energy simply buzzed at the museum in anticipation, during and after the screening."

Riding a similar wave of enthusiasm, Rob Phillimore, marketing manager, Bodmin Keep (Cornwall, UK), expressed the tangible impact of the project, stating: "Screening the Sabaton movie gave our visitor numbers a huge boost. We only have a small screening room, but each screening we held was sold out!"

Ian Flint, CEO, Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome (Essex, UK), echoed the sentiment, emphasising the profound connection fostered by the project: "It was wonderful to see the metal and museum communities merge through our shared appreciation of history. By understanding it, by making it relative, we can learn from it. Sabaton has taken a huge step forward in making our history relative and real to millions of fans worldwide, and we’re hugely grateful to them for the History Rocks project."

Eager to play an active part of this experience, band members attended some hand-selected screenings across Europe to witness the premiere, engage with their fans and hold Q&A and signing sessions. 

Meanwhile, a handful of war veterans attended some of these screenings, adding a poignant layer to the emotional impact of the film.

Pär Sundström stated: "I am incredibly happy to see the overwhelming turnout for the screenings of “The War To End All Wars - The Movie”. It's heartening to witness the dedication of fans who traveled significant distances to attend these events. The response and the experience have been amazing, and we're grateful for the opportunity to share this historical journey with our fans."

He added: “This project honestly went better than we could have even imagined. The feedback we received both during and after the event was incredible, and the fact that we’ve actually made a difference to the museums with the “History Rocks” project means everything to us. Mission accomplished.”

The media coverage surrounding the "History Rocks" project has been nothing short of extraordinary, creating a buzz in various outlets worldwide. The story was picked up by the likes of Metal Hammer UK and Rolling Stone France to name a few, plus various other non-music-related publications and outlets such as Associated Press in the UK, Movieweb, and Yahoo News, among many others.

SABATON's dedication to making history accessible has also caught the attention of educational institutions, some of which have expressed keen interest in utilizing the movie as an educational tool. 

Highlighting the potential of "The War To End All Wars - The Movie" as an effective educational resource for people of all ages was Diane Stephen, manager, Heugh Battery Museum (Hartlepool, the UK), who said: “I think the film is an excellent resource and source of information. Apart from the value it has for adult audiences, we feel that students and pupils of teenage years would get a lot from screenings of this film and it would create a lot of discussion. It is an excellent way to show those studying WW1 at this level in the UK how the war was not simply a trench war in France where the British and Germans fought - which can be the line that is most closely delivered to those being introduced to the topic. We feel the film clearly shows it was a World War with many nations involved, which was fought on many fronts, including the sea and air.”

Meanwhile, Petar Stefanov, head of the guide department, National Museum of History (Sofia, Bulgaria), explained that during the museum’s organized screenings, many student groups led by teachers visited. “They watched the movie and asked us when the next project is so they can bring their students as a learning activity outside the school,” he said.

Emphasising the initiative’s overall success, 100% of museum respondents in a post-event survey stated that they would be open to future collaborations with SABATON on projects of a similar nature. 

As for the future of “The War To End All Wars - The Movie”, the band is exploring ways to present the film to a wider audience, with plans yet to be finalised.

SPREAD EAGLE'S RAY WEST LAUNCHES NEW BAND, SUPAFLY, WITH NEW SINGLE AND FORTHCOMING FULL-LENGTH DEBUT

As one of the more dynamic vocalists of the early ‘90s, NYC native Ray West’s defiant screams and guttural wails defined a generation of headbangers. The leader of Spread Eagle, West aided in the creation of such metal anthems such as “Switchblade Serenade” and “Devil’s Road.” And now, with his collaborator/bassist/producer, Miguel Gonzalez, by his side, West has created his most personal music and songwriting yet. Brimming with heavy urban power grooves, SupaFly represents an evolution for West. SupaFly’s the Vibe is due out on March 8 via Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group) and features revisited and remastered versions of tracks previously recorded, as well as new compositions.

"SupaFly's music is on the heavier side," explains West. "It’s got an urban groove, emotionally charged lyrics that come from a place of strength--and much vulnerability. And since I’m an open book, that’s cool with me. While Spread Eagle is a quintessential NYC, high-energy, hard rock n' roll band…SupaFly is old school with new school sensibilities. The singer is confident that longtime Spread Eagle fans will also appreciate SupaFly. In a recent success, SupaFly released a cover of the KC and the Sunshine Band classic “I’m Your Boogie Man” for Halloween, immediately connecting with fans (with the song's video getting over 30K views upon release).

SupaFly hits again just before the holidays with the extremely personal track “Hypothermia.” West explains the story behind the song, “A talented musician with dreams of stardom gets a record contract only to become disillusioned with the life he’s chosen. He turns to drugs to mask his emotional downfall. And the person who loves him unconditionally is helpless to save him.” “'Hypothermia' is like driving down a foggy coastal mountain highway – it’s lonely road,” adds Gonzalez.

NOLA thrash and groove trailblazers EXHORDER have announced spring 2024 US tour dates with Bay Area thrash legends VIO-LENCE, Virginian extreme metalheads DECEASED and LA death metal band MORTAL WOUND.
