GO AHEAD AND DIE RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR FIRST SINGLE 'TUMORS' + NEW ALBUM UNHEALTHY MECHANISMS OUT OCTOBER 20TH!

Arizona death-crusters GO AHEAD AND DIE will deliver their caustic sophomore album Unhealthy Mechanisms on October 20th via Nuclear Blast Records. A torrential whirlwind born from the livid minds of Igor Amadeus Cavalera (HEALING MAGIC) and Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY). This new installment to the band's dystopian catalog is a fresh dive into the madness of society and the pollution that ravages our minds.

The first taste of the album comes in the form of the single 'Tumors'. The headbang-inducing track is a call out to the backstabbers who are toxic and are the "tumors" of life that if left to spread can become cancer. Check out the animated video created by Romanian artist
Costin Chioreanu

Max Cavalera comments, "The new G.A.A.D. is on its way! More brutal, feral, extreme, and intense than ever before! The album goes in a deep dive into the mental health subject and it’s produced by Igor A! It’s by far the most anarchist record I’ve ever been a part of in my entire career!"

Igor Amadeus Cavalera states, "I’m so excited to release this monster of a record! This album will take you through the darkened madness of declining mental health. It is definitely the heaviest record I’ve ever created, and I can’t wait to unleash it on the masses! G.A.A.D.!"

Unhealthy Mechanisms was produced by Igor Amadeus Cavalera while John Aquilino handled the recording in his Platinum Underground Studio steeped in the mystic ambiance of the Superstition Mountains’ foothills. The mixing and mastering were once again handled by Arthur Rizk (CAVALERA, SOULFLY, TURNSTILE ). For the artwork, the band enlisted Santiago Jaramillo of Triple Seis Design to create the unnerving design that fits with the album title. GO AHEAD AND DIE's newest record is a testament to declining mental health around the world, and a reminder that we are not alone in our pain. The mind is lost. The fuse is lit. Time to set everything ablaze.

Unhealthy Mechanisms will be available digitally and in the following formats:

  • CD Jewel

  • Red Cassette (Limited to 400)

  • Vinyl

WORMHOLE Rage Against the Machine on New Single

WORMHOLE warp brutal riffs and screeching dissonance into a signature tech-slam combo. So it's no surprise that the Baltimore band are huge gamers. Their new album 'Almost Human' was inspired by stomping fools at Metroid and Doom as much as headbanging to Artificial Brain and Dysrhythmia.

Today, Wormhole are premiering a heroic new single with Slam Worldwide. Watch the monstrous visualizer for "Spine Shatter High-Velocity Impact"
below.

'Almost Human' comes out 22 September. Pre-save the album
HERE.  Pre-order it HERE.

"This song has our hero struggling as they make their last stand," says Wormhole. "They're desperately trying to rally, but despite their rage, they just keep falling apart. Is the impossible really going to happen? Is our hero, the one we love and cherish so much, really going to lose?"

"Spine Shatter High-Velocity Impact" might be the fastest and sludgiest song on 'Almost Human'. But it's definitely the most disgusting. Brothers Sanil and Sanjay Kumar scrape out stomach-churning riffs, while the rhythm section chews on the breakdown. Julian Kersey's death growl is so fierce and rotten, you can practically smell the stench wafting through your speakers.

When you invent your own genre, you can make the rules, and in space, no one can correct your math. If Wormhole’s excellent The Weakest Among Us was 50% tech death and 50% slamming brutal death metal, their Season of Mist debut is a veritable leveling up of the Baltimore-based act’s trademark “tech slam.” It’s the kind of record that can scramble your brain and give your neck a nice chiropractic workout; Almost Human feels like the future of extreme metal, dropped down from either outer space or delivered by Nintendo cartridge (more on that later).

So, what the hell exactly is “tech slam?” Well, the gleefully amorphous and unholy term comes from an ethos that guitarists Sanil “Noni” Kumar and Sanjay Kumar discovered and perfected over (probably) thousands of hours of Metroid and Doom games, as well as, you know, actual musical mastery. Almost Human, out September 22, 2023, is more powerful, more agile, and more confounding for pie-chart-enthusiasts than anything else that came before it. The sequel is always bigger, darker, and in this case, covered in much more pixelated space horror viscera. My Wormholio calculator puts their sound at 91% tech and 89% slam, with an increase in awesome stats somewhere in the 420% range. There’s also a clear emphasis on amplifying their dissonant death influence, the kind of eerie melodies that feel like being stomped on by Samus.

There’s a clear balance to everything on Almost Human: the songs are more adventurous while also being instantly memorable. No two songs sound alike, and that diversity in songcraft (level design?) sees Wormhole pushing and pulling along their tech and slam dials to figure out what’s best for the song; spoiler, it’s always riffs. What also becomes evident after repeated listens is how carefully the Kumar brothers understand a sense of place, humor, and a consistent vibe. This is still the same band that’s known for throwing on Saturday morning cartoons, and Almost Human continues to hammer home that Wormhole the musical entity is deadly serious, but the guys that make tech slam are not stoic creatures. There’s a warmth and sense of joy when chatting with them that only gets brighter when you ask their favorite Metroid game (that’s a question for a live show). So, what is this vibe they are chasing? Sanjay shares:

“The tech slam imagery is based on Metroid lore, Doom lore, and we haven't written a song about it yet, but Alien as well. Those three things are brutal sci-fi universes, so we're trying to embody that sound. The slam riffs, you can connect the brutal killing of stuff with the brutal chunky riffs; that's been a match that's existed since the nineties. So that's the slam part, and then the tech part was harder to fit that vibe, so we kind of do it differently. I lean into very dissonance-vibe stuff, like Artificial Brain and Dysrhythmia. I think disso-death and heavy, they aren't usually paired together, even though they should be.”

“And then as far as chasing the vibe,” Noni adds, “I kind of go about it two ways. With the Metroid soundtrack or universe, that vibe, there's some dark and gloomy atmosphere, but there's a lot of pretty imagery as well. We wanted to find a way to match that very pretty, kind of out-there sound cohesively in songs with a very aggressive and guttural approach.”

Like another famous sci-fi horror masterpiece of a different media, Wormhole’s shifting, amorphous style is perfectly suited to blend in and amaze just about any fan of heavy music. That’s The Thing: they can pull off whatever they want, but it’s always boiled down to that tech slam vibe. Do you like tech, melody, breakdowns, atmosphere, or dissonance? Tech slam can fill whatever void you seek.

If previous albums were early generation, lower-resolution visions of tech slam, Almost Human is the 4K reboot, where you can see every pixel of terror and awe. Wormhole are absolutely ready for their closeup. Prepare your worms and your holes, tech slam is here to stay.

Singer-Songwriter Milky Day Releases Emotionally Charged EP Impulses

Milky Day, the talented singer-songwriter and producer known for his unique blend of R&B and soulful melodies, has released his highly anticipated EP, Impulses. Accompanying the release, Milky has launched the presale for his first Vinyl, which you can purchase here while supplies last. An EP that was primarily written during Covid isolation; Impulses is not only a reflection of internal conflict and struggles, it's also a project written from the perspective of Milky reflecting on all the craziness of the world, from the "window" of his trapped environment. As the world grappled with unprecedented challenges during the pandemic, he goes back and forth between tracks and even sometimes within a single

track, talking specifically about his personal struggles and then switching the narrative to a much larger questioning of purpose and existence. Inspired by raw honesty and life's inevitable struggles, this body of work presents a departure from Milky Day's classic themes of love, instead offering an emotionally charged exploration of life's complexities and challenges.

At the heart of this exploration is the EP’s focus track, "Temptation," which represents the above mentioned perspective within the opening line; "Waiting for better days.” The overall lyrics hint at a dialogue with oneself, questioning if he can be greater than his past self, battling the desire for growth while being trapped in a dark path. This track serves as a powerful introduction to the overarching theme of the EP - grappling with impulses and their consequences. "Aura" delves into the actions taken as a result of these urges, and it unravels the internal struggle between fleeting desires and the longing for stability and self-control. The haunting and poignant "Losing My Grip" follows, shedding light on the aftermath of impulsive decisions. Milky Day's soulful vocals resonate deeply, expressing the sense of loss and confusion that arises when one feels disconnected from life's purpose and meaning. "Rest in Peace" reflects on the transformation and growth that occurs when one decides to break free from the grip of impulsive tendencies, letting go of one's old self and embracing new beginnings. Finally, the EP concludes with the uplifting track "So Good." In this song, Milky Day explores the idea of finding peace with his mind, bidding farewell to negative thoughts, and embracing a brighter future. The song's cheerful vibe towards the end indicates a sense of hope and resolution after the tumultuous journey through impulses and self-discovery.

"Through my observations and life experiences, I realized that everyone struggles with their own inner demons in some shape or form - so I've been exploring more general themes of life struggles and suffering through my music, as you'll hear in my upcoming EP," says Milky Day, shedding light on the inspiration behind Impulses. With Impulses, Milky Day seeks to raise awareness about the shared nature of life's struggles and offer solace to those facing similar challenges. Through his candid and soul-baring approach, he aims to connect with his audience on a profound level, letting them know that they are not alone in their battles and that healing is possible.

Hailing from New Zealand and educated at Amherst College in the United States, where he graduated with a double major in Math and Music, Milky Day is a rising star in the R&B scene. His technical prowess in music production, influenced by his mathematical background, is a testament to his commitment to his craft. Simultaneously, his exceptional songwriting skills showcase his boundless creativity and ability to connect with his audience. Milky Day has released several popular tracks, including "You'll Be Alright" and "Take it Slow," which have gained significant traction on streaming

platforms, with over 47 million combined plays on Spotify alone. Stay tuned for more updates on Milky Day's musical journey and join him as he fearlessly bares his soul through his heartfelt compositions.

Sara Evans Celebrates 20 Years of "Restless" w/ Special Guests & an Invite to Become a Member of the Grand Ole Opry

It was a special night of music and surprises for everyone last Thursday night at the Ryman Auditorium, where country music star Sara Evans commemorated the 20th anniversary of her album Restless.

After welcoming the crowd to the sold-out celebration, Evans launched into the Restless album, in sequential order, telling stories and welcoming guests to the stage along the way. Lady A’s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood joined for a powerful performance of “Tonight” and Grammy, CMA and ACM Award winner Carly Pearce capped the Restless album portion with a roof-raising rendition of the No. 1 smash, “Suds In The Bucket.”

After the song, Pearce called Kelley and Haywood back to the stage and welcomed Lady A’s Hillary Scott to surprise Evans with a Platinum Plaque for “Suds In The Bucket.”

But the fun was only beginning as Scott brought out Grand Ole Opry member and legend Bill Anderson who recalled seeing Evans in a small warehouse showcase where she performed songs from her forthcoming debut album, and one of the songs she recorded was “Walk Out Backwards,” a song he had written and recorded in the early 1960’s.

He then told Evans he had two questions for her. The first was if she could sing a bit of that song to which she immediately broke out in a verse and chorus of the vintage tune.

The second question was would she like to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, to which Evans tearfully and playfully said “No,” followed by “Of course, I would never say no to that question.” Afterwards he played a video message from another Opry great, Dolly Parton, congratulating her.

After gathering her emotions, Evans rounded out the evening’s show with seven additional hit songs including “No Place That Far,” “I Keep Looking” and “A Little Bit Stronger” with Hillary Scott, who co-wrote the song. Evans closed out the evening with her signature hit, “Born To Fly.”

Within Temptation Announce New Album "Bleed Out" + Share Title Track — LISTEN

Bleed Out signifies a bold leap forward for the band. From contemporary, hard-hitting, and djenty riffs to soaring melodies displaying their symphonic roots, Within Temptation have created a sonic journey that fuses diverse musical styles and thought-provoking themes. This is an album that is as epic as it is unflinchingly outspoken, and now more than ever, this is a band who isn't afraid to make a stand on issues the members care about.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Within Temptation have shifted their focus from writing about personal emotions and societal subjects to tackling global injustices and reflecting the tumultuous state of the world in a way that other artists seem unable or unwilling to do.

Vocalist Sharon den Adel states, "The war in Ukraine has influenced us a lot. As artists we are inspired by the world, and we have this platform. We are storytellers, and I think as human beings, these are things we should be talking about."

Whilst songs such as "Wireless" and "We Go To War" examine the authoritarian aggression on display in Ukraine and other warzones, the title track itself addresses the plight of women fighting for their rights in Iran after the murder of Mahsa Amini.

den Adel explains, "I lived in Yemen when I was a kid. My parents lived in several countries in the Middle East, and I've visited them a lot when they were there. It's a different world. Due to my time there, I feel connected to that part of the world. I've been so incredibly impressed by the bravery of the young women there who've been burning their scarves knowing they were going to be thrown in prison or worse — it's heartbreaking."

The album also grapples with the complex issues around a woman's right to choose in recent single "Don't Pray For Me" and throughout, this impassioned and political focus is reflected in the intensity and heaviness of the music. Embracing a new era of musical exploration and lyrical depth, Within Temptation have pushed boundaries and showcased their artistic evolution, delivering a fist-in-the-air proclamation of both their moral convictions and their fearless approach to music.

Imbued with a vast dynamic range that plumbs the full depth of symphonic heaviosity, Bleed Out is as exuberantly heavy as it is politically profound.

Bleed Out will be released in multiple physical formats and across all streaming via Within Temptation's own label Force Music Recordings in a joint venture with Bertus Distribution for worldwide distribution and Amped Distribution for the U.S. and Canada.

CYHRA Release Third Album "The Vertigo Trigger"

Four years after their last studio album No Halos in Hell, CYHRA proudly present their new album “The Vertigo Trigger.” The Swedes' third full-length has been released today, and it reflects exactly what the melodic metal band stands for: ear-splitting riffs, catchy choruses and plenty of melodies that make the band truly stand out.

The band based around singer Jake E (ex-AMARANTHE) and guitarists Jesper Strömblad (THE HALO EFFECT/ex-IN FLAMES) Euge Valovirta (ex-SHINING),  drummer Alex Landenburg (KAMELOT), and guitarist Marcus Sunesson (ex-THE CROWN / ex-ENGLE) demonstrate that they haven’t slowed down. With “The Vertigo Trigger,” CYHRA has not only further developed their distinctive sound, but also proven how diverse they are. The best example for this is the latest single “Ashlight,” which combines hard-hitting elements with a gentle attitude. And if that wasn't enough, the Swedes also deliver a new music video for the latest single to celebrate the album release.

Watch the music video for ''Ashlight" below.

Vocalist Jake E comments:
“It feels amazing to FINALLY have new music to release again! We put a lot of effort into finding out what the future of Cyhra's music was to be and I must say I am overwhelmed with the result. Both with the album and also the songwriting!. I think that we have made a fantastic follow-up to both of our first two albums, but also at the same time we’ve managed to modernized the songwriting. I can assure you that no Cyhra fan will be disappointed!"

Drummer Alex Landenburg adds:
“To me, this is a perfect successor to our first two records. It has all the Cyhra trademarks, but it’s a bit more Rock’n’Roll, more raw, in the way we recorded it. And on top of that, Euge’s great mix and Jacob Hansen’s mastering are a wicked combination!”

Guitarist Euge Valovirta about the new song:
"This is the first album we produced by ourselves and it turned out to be just like I heard it in my head before we even started to record it. We still wanted to have (long time producer) Jacob Hansen's input on it so he did the mastering and I did the mixing. I'm very proud of it. And us. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue."

Marcus Sunesson adds:
“It’s the first of the three Cyhra albums that I played guitar on and also contributed to the songwriting. It was a fun and very creative process, but also challenging since we wanted to break new ground in order to make the best Cyhra album possible. I am so happy and proud of this beast of an album! This time we took a deep breath and dove down to explore a slightly darker, more progressive and modern side of ourselves. Yet still sounding like the Cyhra you all know and love. This album will definitely turn some heads. You will love it!”

Jesper Strömblad comments as well:
“It's so great to have a new album around the corner. We have kept the essential Cyhra sound, but at the same time upgraded and updated it a bit. I love what Euge has done to the mix and I know you are not gonna be disappointed!”

Recorded in the summer/autumn of 2022, “The Vertigo Trigger” is the band's darkest album to date. The album was entirely self-produced and mixed by guitarist Euge Valovirta, whilst the mastering was handled by long-term producer Jacob Hansen. This new album offers fans the classic CYHRA sound, full of the band's trademarks, but fresh and refined. The Swedes have modernised their song writing meaning that no CYHRA fan will be disappointed, making The Vertigo Trigger a more than worthy successor to their first two albums.

And although guitarist Jesper Strömblad isn’t a part of CYHRA's live shows currently, he was deeply involved in the writing and recording process of the album. Therefore, the band can hardly wait for his return as soon as he is ready again.

CYHRA is:
Jake E – lead vocals
Euge Valovirta – lead guitar (and bass)
Alex Landenburg – drums
Marcus Sunesson – guitars
Jesper Strömblad – guitars (and bass)

Scotty McCreery Releases Heartbreak Single "Cab in a Solo"

Following several teases on his social media and with five consecutive No. 1 hits under his belt, Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery begins the next chapter in his career with today’s release of his latest single “Cab in a Solo.” The country crooner, who turns 30 this fall, has spent almost half his life making country music while continuing to push himself and grow creatively as well as personally. Stream the new track HERE.

Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Cab in a Solo” offers the first taste of new music from McCreery since the release of his 2021 album Same Truck.

“I brought several of my writer buddies to the mountains of North Carolina for a few days to write songs, and that’s where ‘Cab in a Solo’ was born,” said McCreery. “This song is pure country. I’m excited to share it with everyone.”

With a hint of neotraditional country and dash of 90’s country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory – lamenting a failed relationship.

The new single follows the recent success of “It Matters to Her” the fastest climbing single of McCreery’s career. The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 “Damn Strait” and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 “You Time,” all found on Same Truck: The Deluxe Album.

Earlier this summer McCreery joined the Brooks & Dunn REBOOT Tour 2023. He is currently out on the road for his own headlining tour with 25+ dates through the fall.

McCreery is among six inductees in the 2023 class scheduled to be enshrined in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame during the annual induction ceremony this fall. The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Mooresville Performing Arts Center in Mooresville, N.C. VIP and General Reserved tickets are available

McCreery returns to the Grand Ole Opry on September 14 to perform as part of “Opry Country Classics.”  He’ll be back on the Opry stage on December 3 as part of “Opry Country Christmas.” Tickets can be purchased for both shows at

Randall King Debuts 2 New Tracks: “Hard To Be Humble” & “The One You’re Waiting On”

Hereford, Texas native Randall King brings his Billboard-praised “sturdy baritone” to the forefront alongside a healthy dose of hubris and equal parts vulnerability on latest double-shot delivery: “The One You’re Waiting On” and “Hard To Be Humble.” Listen HERE

The son of a working man, King was raised on the influences of country music greats Alan Jackson, George Strait, Keith Whitley and more; his neo-traditional style a byproduct of living life the way he often heard reflected in their lyrics. It was this same authenticity that rang out when King first heard “The One You’re Waiting On” and was instantly drawn to the longing, reflective track.

“The first time I heard this song, I had it playing in my truck and was just blown away, pretty sure I missed a turn,” King laughs. “The song is just incredible. I have sung along to it so many times runnin’ down the highway. I have always loved it and you can hear my passion for this song reflected in my vocals. I’m beyond excited to have this one out there.”

On the other hand, where “The One You’re Waiting On” hangs on King’s ability to project the anguish of love slipping away, “Hard To Be Humble,” also out today, balances as an upbeat, cheeky brag. With his head held high, King sings:

No I can't help talk about you
Walk a little taller in my old boots
Never liked showing off what I got
But look at you baby, how could I not
Ain't anybody else that I wanna be
When every guy in here wants to be me
Walking in with you on my arm
Lovin’ you’s easy, but girl it's so hard
        To be humble

“We were pitched ‘Hard To Be Humble’ by my buddy Jake Gear (produces Hailey Whitters), and the email had gotten lost in the mess of what my inbox is. Two days before we went in to cut I just happened to be going back through my old emails and found this song sittin’ there, put it on, and went ‘Whoa… how was this song missed?!’ We cut this catchy fun love song and boy I got to tell ya, I’m sure glad I double checked my Gmail that day!”

As he continues to tease new music, King is set to kick off “KingFest” at the Nashville Palace tonight for the first of two back-to-back shows in Music City. The two-day branded festival event features support from Tyler Booth, Braxton Keith, Drake Milligan and Jon Stork.

Already known for his road warrior diet of over 150 dates each year touring across the United States, King continues his trek internationally next month with 11 European tour stops. With five of the shows already sold-out, the overseas dates have been met with fan enthusiasm, leading King to set his sights on larger venues to meet the demand. Once he returns from the European run, King will join as direct support on select dates of Jon Pardi’s Mr. Saturday Night World Tour.

About Randall King:
One of country’s new crop of modern traditionalists, Warner Music Nashville artist Randall King grew up on the endless plains of West Texas – and his sound is steeped in their timeless beauty with a mix of grit and grace. He grew up singing in the back of a ‘93 Chevy Suburban, mimicking the pure-country vocals of stars like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson and over the years became drawn to the electrifying energy of modern stars like Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean. After years of hustling and a road-warrior’s diet of 150 shows each year, King produced and released the defiant 2016 EP, Another Bullet, then followed up with a 2018 self-titled album. Now, King is bringing an organic, timeless sound to the mainstream with his major label debut album Shot Glass. The 11-song collection, seven of which were co-written by King, centers around a night out at a bar, with each track representing a different point of view of those in the room. The album was named to Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far), making him the only male country artist to make the list. With over 200+ million career streams to his name, the 2023 Music Mayhem Magazine and 2022 Pandora and Country Now Country Artist to Watch is looking to the anywhere-and-everywhere future with music that captures the essence of a Western poet who’s never been afraid to be himself.

As a first impression, we choose 'The Anticosmic Overload' performed in the United States of America, since this was the first song ever we performed in North America back in 2009."

Cody Hibbard Tributes Military Families in “Bend,” Available Now

Droptine’s Cody Hibbard began his unlikely path to music as a Naval Academy cadet, before an injury sidelined his service dreams and ultimately led him to pick up a guitar. While his career trajectory changed, his deep-rooted respect for the military remained, inspiring his latest cut, “Bend,” out now.

“‘Bend’ shows the bond between someone who has gone through chaos and the person that gets them through everything,” Hibbard shares. “It’s a song about vulnerability and admitting that sometimes the only thing to do is to ask for help.”

Self-written by Hibbard and produced by Julian King and Jim Catino, the battle worn track is an ode to the spouses of military members, acknowledging their sacrifice and dedication to weathering through life’s roughest storms. A willow tree serving as the song’s metaphorical backdrop, its ability to bend rather than break while being battered by winds encapsulates the emotional and psychological toll returning from deployment often has on families.

        This road's been narrow
Took a few wrong turns to get this far, ain’t no one’s hero
But baby you can hide these scars, cause like those willows
I run stronger in the wind, when we’re holdin hand in hand, you got my soul on the mend
        So Baby bend

To coincide with the release, Hibbard continues to highlight the stories of real families who have lived through these experiences with his interview series
“The Heroes Behind The Song,” available on YouTube beginning Monday, Aug. 21. “The Heroes Behind The Song” features candid conversations between spouses, delving into the hidden challenges military families face while shining a light on the battle that follows them.

Emmett is now releasing worldwide Then Again... through Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group) as part of a new deal with Music in Motion Ent. As he states about the release, “There seems little point in simply trying to repeat history, so we came at it from a different place: the place where Dave Dunlop and I dealt with these songs, on smaller nightclub & intimate listening room stages. Honoring the endurance of these songs, but giving them a fresh, stripped-down and 21st century D.I.Y. perspective.” Enjoy reimagined versions of classics like, “Lay It on the Line,” “Magic Power,” and “Fight the Good Fight.”

The classic Triumph album Allied Forces sold over a million copies in the US, while attaining the highest chart positions any Triumph album would attain: #23 in the US and #13 in Canada. "Magic Power" reached #8 on the Billboard Mainstream Top Rock Tracks chart and #51 on the Hot 100, while "Fight the Good Fight" went to #18 on the Top Rock Tracks chart. Alkaloid Reach Critical Mass on New Single

No one has conquered the far reaches of the metalverse quite like Alkaloid. The Bavarian band have crafted songs about what lies beneath the Arctic crust, on top of an ongoing, multi-part saga about a galactic civilization that ascends to god-like levels of domination.

Today, Alkaloid are releasing the latest chapter in the Dyson Saga. "Numen" is a cosmic seven-minute yarn of how a supermassive black hole came to burp up an unheard-of cosmic artifact that gives both the song - and their new album - its name.

Watch the heady lyric video below.

'Numen is out on September 15. Pre-order the album
HERE. Pre-save the album HERE.

"We proudly present the title track of our new album, and the first of three new chapters in the ongoing Dyson saga up the Kardashev Scale", says galactic leader Morian from Alkaloid's space station via interstellar transmission. "Through the mindbogglingly complex manipulation of mass, electromagnetism and the structure of spacetime itself over countless aeons, "Numen" transforms into an acceleration hub for sentinel worldlets sent toward other galaxies".

"Numen" amasses sounds from across the spectrum of extreme metal: alien growls mixed with luminous cleans, drum fills that hurtle between mind-bending bass grooves, and riffs that crunch with the force of asteroids while also swirling like the milky way.

"Musically, I mangled materials inspired by Rainbow and Pink Floyd, as well as Meshuggah into a polyrhythmic context, while still staying true to the sound of our Dyson world," says Morian. "The subtle but continuous disturbance of the main 12/16 groove by a stubborn 7/16 layer is a hint at the massive forces at play in the story".

Progressive extreme metallers Alkaloid prepare to unfurl their new many-tentacled full-length, 'Numen' via Season of Mist. Featuring members of Triptykon, Obscura, Dark Fortress, and Obsidious, the Germany-based quartet of Morean (vocals, guitars, concepts), Hannes Grossmann (drums), Christian Münzner (guitars), and Linus Klausenitzer (bass) construct upon, expand away from, and journey between previous full-lengths The Malkuth Grimoire (2015) and Liquid Anatomy (2018) on Numen. In every respect, Alkaloid recommence the purposeful warp of various metallic genres they dimensionally blur. Tracks like the video single for "Clusterfuck,” “The Cambrian Explosion,” and “Numen” posit heavy cosmological/Lovecraftian theoretic themes on top of musically-adept songs that are accessible yet undeniably intricate.

“We’ve all been around the block a few times by now as metal musicians,” says songsmith Morean. “The feeling that we’ve outgrown the narrow niche of pure extreme metal was a main motivator to start this band in the first place, ten years ago. The ‘prog’ tag is handy for us because, per definition, it already encompasses a wider range of possible styles and influences we can get away with than any one specific metal genre. This means we could ensure from the beginning that we’ll always be able to write whatever we want, no matter how crazy our ideas become. The heart of this band is always the songwriting, and we all like complex and virtuosic music in all its diverse manifestations. However, we do share a love for death metal as the smallest common denominator in the band, and we wanted to make sure no one thinks that just because we include melodies, clean guitars, and influences from other genres, we’d automatically sacrifice the brutality and relentless esthetic of extreme metal.”

'Numen' was written during the pandemic, but it was planned long before the scourge of disease wracked humanity. As a result, the songwriting sessions were predictably not "in the room" but over the Internet after the band members had isolated and worked on their constituent parts. Demos flew back and forth. Then, Tunker left amicably for personal reasons. Alkaloid could’ve folded, but the close-knit group soldiered on. They intensely relied on the professionalism and dependability of the collective to drive 'Numen' to completion. The complications of the two years it took to sonically inscribe the album into aeonic vastness didn’t fragment the end result. Instead, the process accelerated Alkaloid’s lambent, eldritch explorations. “Clusterfuck,” “The Cambrian Explosion,” “Numen,” and “A Fool’s Desire” expertly bridge the past to the future, where Alkaloid’s originative, daedal storytelling captures (and holds hostage) the imagination.

The title, 'Numen', got its start at the dawning of Alkaloid. It’s a word that Morean fell in love with immediately, and he knew it had a place in his creative endeavors. Whereas The Malkuth Grimoire talked about combining existing elements into new structures, and Liquid Anatomy dealt with the creation of new elements, 'Numen' tries to look at the universe from a kind of meta-perspective from an imaginary god, as if the space that everything happens in was given a voice and a role as observer and shaper of everything that happens. In it, sentient panspermic mycelia are swathed in Lovecraftian nastiness—like Shub-Niggurath and the Fungi from Yuggoth—while the new Dyson chapters interpret the aspiration to reach divinity rather literally, reshaping the entire galaxy by manipulating spacetime itself. Desperate to escape their doom, the Cephalopods from previous songs have returned, too. 'Numen' is dense but not impenetrable. In fact, from the first moments of opener, "Qliphosis," to the final contemplation of closer "Alpha Aur,” Alkaloid prove to be more charismatic than ever.

The Neal Agency Adds Nate Smith to Roster

Featuring a mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock ‘n’ roll swagger and velvet-thunder vocals, Sony Music Nashville recording artist Nate Smith’s star has continued to rise on the heels of his multi-week No. 1 hit “Whiskey On You” – celebrated by Stereogum as “an enormously satisfying country kiss-off anthem” – and the release of his self-titled debut album earlier this year.

His ability to translate his personal journey scarred by disaster into relatable lyrics that provide comfort to fans instantly captivated The Neal Agency’s (TNA) Adi Sharma and Evan Kantor. After one meeting with Smith, it became clear to Sharma and Kantor that he was the perfect addition to their growing roster.

“We are honored to add Nate to The Neal Agency family. He is a rare talent and is one of those artists it only takes one time to meet and listen to until you immediately fall in love,” share agents Sharma and Kantor. “We could not be more excited to see what the future holds for Nate!”

Smith adds, “I couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up with the best agents in the game. They have a real plan for me, and it’s gonna absolutely change my life and career. The Neal Agency is family, and the craziest part is that we’ve already worked together earlier on, so this is a real full circle moment for all of us! I’m grateful, and extremely lucky to have the best of the best in live entertainment!”

In addition to TNA, Smith is represented by The Core Entertainment for artist management. The Core Entertainment’s Simon Tikhman and Chief Zaruk shared their enthusiasm in Smith’s growing team. “We are excited to work with Adi and the Neal Agency. What the Neal Agency has built in such a short time is a testament to their hard work and dedication to their artists. The future is very bright for their partnership with Nate Smith.”

Smith’s journey to Music City began with loss in 2018, when all of his belongings were destroyed in the devastating Camp Fire which tore through Paradise, California. Although his family was safe, he struggled to cope and turned back to music for comfort, using a loaned guitar to co-write a song called “One of These Days.” Caught between bittersweet nostalgia and his rock-solid belief the community would rebuild, the song embodied everything Smith was feeling – and everything he loved about music.

After returning to Nashville, the singer-songwriter began unveiling a new round of music which puts that inspirational mission front-and-center – and features an edgy-organic sound unlike anything else in the format.

As his current single “World On Fire” remains in the top 40 and climbing on country radio, Smith has embarked on Thomas Rhett’s Home Team Tour ‘23 and will support Cole Swindell on select dates of his Twelve Tour this fall. Having previously opened for Morgan Wallen at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium last April, Smith will once again support Wallen on Nov. 16, 2023 at The Moody Center in Austin, TX.

In addition to Smith, TNA’s roster proudly represents Palmer Anthony, Cameron Sacky Band, Aidan Canfield, Ashland Craft, ERNEST, Riley Green, HARDY, Ella Langley, mike., John Morgan, Chase Rice, Josh Ross, Seaforth, Morgan Wallen, Lauren Watkins, Anne Wilson, Jake Worthington and Bailey Zimmerman, along with lifestyle brands Stevenson Ranch and Whiskey Jam.

About Nate Smith:
Featuring a mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock ‘n’ roll swagger and velvet-thunder vocals, Nate Smith’s personal journey inspired him to be a beacon of country-music hope, an inspirational mission he puts front-and-center. A California native, former worship leader, and lifelong music lover, Smith approaches that mission with a background as eclectic as it gets. Learning guitar at 13, Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley and Bob Seger were among those informing his powerful, fire-from-within vocals, while Michael Jackson made him crave the spotlight and Nirvana gave his sound a jagged edge. In 2018, Smith lost everything he owned in the devastating Camp Fire which tore through Paradise, California, now known as the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in the state’s history. Although his family was safe, he struggled to cope and turned back to music, hoping that it would help comfort himself and others. Help it did, inspiring a month-long road trip across the U.S. to Music City, writing music and playing dive bars along the way.

Since making it to Nashville, the singer’s “powerhouse tenor” has become “perhaps country music’s fastest-rising beloved voice” (The Tennessean). He’s made a huge splash with songs such as his Platinum-certified multi-week No. 1 hit “Whiskey On You,” which was lauded as the “breakup song of the summer” by Country Now and “an enormously satisfying country kiss-off anthem” by Stereogum. “Whiskey On You” amassed over 7.5 million total global on-demand streams in its first week, reaching No. 10 on the Country On-Demand Streaming Chart. The smash hit has racked up over 320 million total global on-demand streams to date. Nate released his debut, self-titled album along with the deluxe version on April 28. The hefty 26-song project hit #6 on Billboard’s Country album charts and #30 on the Billboard Top 200. His latest single off the album, “World On Fire,” is impacting country radio now. The CMT Awards and ACM Awards nominee is currently on tour with Thomas Rhett and will hit the road with Cole Swindell this fall. Nate is managed by Kevin “Chief” Zaruk and Simon Tikhman with The Core Entertainment.

PRIDE IN PIECES Release Official Music Video for New, Alt-Metal Single "SURVIVAL"!

Denver, CO based, Alternative Metal band PRIDE IN PIECES has released the official music video for their new single, "SURVIVAL". Directed by JEREMY STEGMAN, and the mile high quartet's third single since reforming in 2022, "SURVIVAL" inspires with roaring, contemplative lyrics delivered alongside thundering riffs and blood pounding bass.

"'SURVIVAL' is a song about just that. It’s a fight to want to stay alive for many people, and many have lost that battle. Only through deep connection and a reason to live will we survive. Life & Death are one decision away from each other, the edge of a knife. If this song brings any hope, then we will count that as success. " (LEVI JOHNSON – Bass and Vocals)

PHARMACOSE Expands Alternative Rock Horizons with Incredible, Almost Fully DIY EP, 'Ascension's Constraint Pt. 1'!

Jacksonville, FL Alternative Rock project PHARMACOSE, a mostly one man shown known as (Dr.) WESLEY JONES, has unveiled the long awaited and previously teased out EP, Ascension's Constraint Pt. I. Written, produced, mixed, and mastered by the enigmatic and multi-talented front-man, Ascension's Constraint Pt. I is a delicious fusion of classic and modern alternative, with precise and deeply thoughtful themes built withing a stunningly layered instrumentation!

"When I set out to make Ascension’s Constraint in 2020, I thought it would take me about a year or so. It ended up taking over three years. It has been an arduous path getting here, full of frustration, late nights, trial and error, and, honestly, a fair amount of failures. And this is only Part I! More than once I wanted to give up and never think about it again. In some respects, it might have been a healthier option, since I’m almost six years removed from my mental health struggles, but some part of me just will not sit still.

Toward the end of 2019, I felt great about where things were headed with Pharmacose. We’d just finished part 2 of Prescription Fiction, and we were starting to get some shows booked. Things were beginning to get exciting. Then March 2020 happened, and while we were extremely fortunate not to experience any major tragedies, personal circumstances changed for all of us, and suddenly there was no “we.” It was just me. Though that’s not entirely accurate, since Lu and I are still working together some, but there was no longer a band in the traditional sense.

I could have let Pharmacose go quietly, and part of me wanted to, but I just could not quit. There was a moment around when the lockdowns were announced that I knew I was going to be stuck in the house more, and I decided that I was going to do whatever it took to get my production abilities up to snuff. I already had some clue as to what I was doing, but it still took me a year of writing, recording, realizing it was not good, and then repeating the process before I started to gain a bit of confidence. Somewhere during that time I decided that since I was doing deep dive on production, I may as well do the same for mixing.

Along the way I built a project studio, and that’s where I was nearly every night from around 9:00-12:00, and sometimes more on the weekend. I put out versions of the songs on this record starting at the beginning of last year, and when it became time to start thinking about compiling them all into an album, I realized the recording and mixing just wasn’t good. So, earlier this year, I set out to figure out where I went wrong and to do what I needed to do to get the songs sounding how I wanted them.

I ended up re-recording almost all the parts, which obviously meant that I had to mix everything again. It was disappointing at first to realize all this, but I’m glad I took the time to do it. Everything sounds so much better, and anyone who listened to the original versions won’t recognize these ones. Additionally, I feel like I’ve got a decent idea about what I am doing now, meaning that Part II won’t take nearly as long.

Ascension’s Constraint is part of a larger work that also includes a companion book. At first, I was trying to release one part of the story per month along with a song that goes with what is happening in the story, but I got very far behind and decided to put the book on hold so I could get the songs done. Part I of the book is pretty far along, though, I just need to finish it. I think that’s the next step in this journey. I’d hate to abandon it, because I enjoy the story and it helps to solidify the messages I am trying to send.

When I say messages, I really don’t mean to be preachy, and in fact I am not necessarily trying to tell the reader/listener what I believe is really going on in the world. I am not sure what’s going on in the world because I feel truth is in short supply, but this is only my opinion.

Ideas that the songs and the book explore include the possibility of a higher self/soul, higher dimensions, and the simulation hypothesis. For those that are intrigued or might want more background, I suggest reading about Roger Penrose, Stuart Hameroff, and David Bohm, among others.

I’d be remiss if I did not acknowledge point out that the timing of this release is serendipitous. UAPs appear to be real, and we may be on the cusp of disclosure. Lue Elizando, Tom DeLonge, and many others have mentioned that the phenomena may have ties to consciousness and higher dimensions. It was not my intention to time the release to coincide with all the information coming out, but hopefully my works will inspire the reader/listener to dig deeper into these concepts." - Wes Johnson

Pharmacose is an alternative rock project hailing from Jacksonville, FL, that combines steadfast analog sounds with cutting edge flair. The project– a portmanteau of “pharmaceutical” and “comatose” –began as a collaborative effort between Jones and producer and bassist Lucio Rubino. They have previously released material under the name Digital Array.

Jones, a Memphis native, formed Pharmacose in 2017 with producer Lu Rubino shortly after moving to Jacksonville to pursue new career opportunities. Rubino, a veteran producer and bassist, has worked with Paramore, Storyside B, and The Showdown, among many others. Their creative process was chiefly inspired by Jones, a medical doctor, and his past struggles with mental illness.

Pharmacose began as a coping mechanism for Jones in the wake of an acute mental health episode, culminating in the release of Prescription Fiction, Part 1, in 2020. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jones and Rubino put together a live act by recruiting drummer Albert Cruz and lead guitarist Kevin Horne. The group was gearing up to play live shows in anticipation of the release of Part 2 of Prescription Fiction. With the subsequent lockdowns canceling those shows, and Cruz and Horne subsequently departing, Jones decided to begin working on new material and used the time to explore new sounds and assume a greater role in production. The result is several new songs, which ultimately completed Prescription Fiction as an entire album, rather than releasing Part 2 as a separate chapter.

In August 2023, Pharmacose released the first installment of their second album, Ascension's Restraint.
