Wailin Storms Announce New Album 'The Arsonist'

With their bluesy riffs, swampy rhythms and haunting vocals, Wailin Storms are one of the hottest bands in Southern gothic rock. The Durham, North Carolinians have received high praise from NPR, The Needle Drop, Brooklyn Vegan, Decibel and Metal Hammer. Thunderous applause has greeted them on both sides of The Atlantic during shows and tour dates with everyone from City of Caterpillar and This Will Destroy You to Acid Bath and Eyehategod. Now, with their upcoming fifth album,The Arsonist, the band are fanning their flames with reckless abandon.   

Today, Wailin Storms are announcing The Arsonist with a music video for the album’s simmering title track. While slowly engulfed in flames, amidst their new single’s fiery throes of passion, the band howl like the hounds of hell.

“The Arsonist was forged in the fires of our hearts”, Wailin Storms vocalist and guitarist Justin Storms says. “The title track was the initial spark for the album. It’s about the fear of losing the person you love most in life, a love that is so consuming that it takes on many forms: a car crash, a tumultuous sea, vines wrapping around a tree, a house fire”.

Amidst the wreckage of The Arsonist, Wailin Storms do find a semblance of peace. “It’s All Dark Now Where Your Eyes Used to Be” ends the album with a ghostly flicker of gothic romance. “I know a place where we can sit and grow old”, Storms offers with grim assurance. A piano tolls like death’s bell as he glimpses up at a church that resembles a skull. “There’s a sliver of hope in coming to terms with death”, he concludes. “Life is temporary and that's where its beauty lies”.

Marking her first release since the 2024 album ENN, 'Healer' arrives after an extended period of international touring, where Eivør has performed across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, steadily deepening her connection with a global audience.

Set within a dark, atmospheric sound world, 'Healer' blends a distorted piano-led bass line with cinematic strings and ambient textures. Driven by a steady, pulsing rhythm and carried by Eivør’s raw, expressive vocals, the track moves between fragility and release, like letting go in a storm while still carrying everything you’ve been through.

At its core, the song is a reflection on self-worth and resilience. It captures the tension between falling and finding your footing again, holding space for both doubt and quiet strength.

Eivør explains:
“‘Healer’ is a conversation with my younger self - the one who once doubted everything and didn’t feel like she was enough. It lives in the space of falling and finding your footing. The song holds onto the idea that even in those moments, something stronger is quietly building.”

The accompanying video, directed by Faroese filmmaker Katrin Joensen-Næs, extends the emotional world of the song through a stark and symbolic visual language. Shot entirely in black and white, the film unfolds around two mirrored figures, exploring themes of identity, transformation and inner dialogue. All production design and costumes are created within this monochrome palette, reinforcing a visual language that reflects an inner emotional landscape. The video is inspired by the idea that time heals all wounds.

Following a period of near-continuous touring, 'Healer' signals a shift towards a more direct and emotionally immediate form of songwriting, while retaining the depth and physical intensity that define her work. 

Eivør continues: “I poured my heart into this song. I hope it meets you where you are, and maybe offers you a sense of strength and healing.”

Eivør is also very proud to announce new, extensive tour dates across North America, Europe and the UK.

Eivør is one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from the Nordic music scene, an artist whose work bridges ancient tradition and contemporary sound. Raised in the Faroe Islands, her music is deeply shaped by the stark landscapes and communal singing culture of her homeland, where music is both ritual and everyday expression.

Blending elements of Nordic folk, cinematic composition and modern production, Eivør has built a genre-defying catalogue across 11 studio albums. CAGE FIGHT Releases New Single "Oxygen" + New Video

UK metal band, CAGE FIGHT – fronted by vocal powerhouse Rachel Aspe – have released a new single/video, "Oxygen."

Rachel Aspe explains,

“When your worries occupy all the space in your head, you’re navigating

through fog; every task, every move, feels like a challenge. 'Oxygen' is about a fight against time, when everything becomes overwhelming and suffocating.”

About the video, Aspe adds:

“The mask on the album cover is the radiotherapy mask my grandmother wore every day for her cancer treatment. It was moulded to her, and I'm now wearing it as she lives through me. The process was painful and exhausting. This is a symbol of strength, perseverance, and healing. It represents a cage you fight in, until you shed your skin

and are reborn. The mask also has specific meanings for each song on the album.

"In 'Oxygen', we wanted to portray the feelings of fear, oppression, and anxiety. To be locked in this cage, pushed down by its weight. The mask here is our own mind, and overwhelming thoughts, while seeing time passing by and being powerless.”

CAGE FIGHT will release their second studio album, ‘Exuvia,’ on May 1st via Spinefarm.  

Recorded by Sam Bloor at Lower Lane Studios and mixed by Jim Pinder (Sleep Token, Malevolence), ‘Exuvia’ retains the raw, old school hardcore heart of CAGE FIGHT – vibrating with meaty grooves, pummelling rhythms, plus a wave of furious anger that feels like a punch to the gut. At the same time, it also explores more multi-layered terrains, atmospheres, and melodies, making CAGE FIGHT sound bigger, tighter, and more epic than ever before.

Throughout the 11 pieces of music, the band proves they aren’t afraid to experiment… and have a bit of fun. A case in point is "Pick Your Fighter," which features Julien Truchan from Benighted on guest vocals, and was inspired by a French pop song – "Et c'est parti…" by Nâdiya – though you’d never guess it from the song’s crushing heaviness.

The rest of the lyrics on ‘Exuvia’ are written by Rachel – the first time she has expressed herself in this way, and the results are deeply personal, taking in anxiety, assault, and having to deal with grief. The expansive final track, "Élégie," is about losing her grandfather, and the regret that can come from things left unsaid.

On "Pig," meanwhile, she calls out the creepy men who send women unsolicited messages online, while the title track was inspired by her grandmother, who is currently battling cancer, and helped Rachel write the song's lyrics.

BOOZEWA Announce First West Coast Tour This July

Pennsylvania noise and grunge trio BOOZEWA will make their long awaited West Coast debut this July, bringing their loud, heavy, and unmistakably strange sound across California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Utah.

Formed in 2020, BOOZEWA features Jessica Baker on bass and vocals, Rylan Caspar on guitar and vocals, and mRc on drums. The trio draws from a sonic lineage that includes KARP, MELVINS, SONIC YOUTH, and SWANS, delivering a sound that is both punishing and unpredictable. The band includes former members of BACKWOODS PAYBACK and a current member of ALL ELSE FAILED.

Operating fully DIY through their own DeepRest Records imprint, BOOZEWA has released five records, singles, and EPs. Their latest release, a split with NOWHERE, is available now on 12 inch vinyl. The band has also worked in the studio with TAD DOYLE of TAD.

FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL: Announces Line-Up Changes and New Additions

FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL regretfully announces some necessary changes to the Frontiers Rock Festival 2026 bill, and shares the confirmed set times for the event, set to take place on May 1, 2, and 3, 2026, at the Live Club in Trezzo sull’Adda (Milan), Italy.

Unfortunately, Frontline, Robin Beck, and House Of Lords will no longer be able to perform at this year’s edition of the Festival. These cancellations are due to serious and unexpected health issues affecting members of the artists involved.

While we are saddened that these performances can no longer take place, the health and well-being of the artists must take absolute priority. We extend our full support and best wishes to all those affected.

Frontiers Rock Festival is pleased to confirm that Russ Ballard, Dan Byrne, and Smoking Snakes will join the line-up and perform at the festival.

Joan As Police Woman ignites 'Eternal Flame' ahead of 'Real Life Evolution' album

Iconic NYC artist Joan As Police Woman presents her new rendition of 'Eternal Flame', the latest offering from her new “Real Life Evolution' album. Comprised of new arrangements of the songs from the original 'Real Life' album, this record will be released on CD, Limited Edition exclusive red marble vinyl and digitally on June 12 via UK independent Reveal Records .
 
Exactly 20 years since releasing her debut album "Real Life", Joan has reimagined and re-recorded the album in full with guests, including Iggy Pop and Krystle Warren. Twenty years in the making, this record was developed through countless nights on stage, these new arrangements brought to life by the musical brilliance of the players who helped define their sound. Contributors include Will Graefe, Jeremy Gustin, Tony Scherr, Parker Kindred, Danny Blume, Oren Bloedow and Thomas Bartlett.

Joan Wasser, known professionally as Joan As Police Woman since 2004, is a critically acclaimed musician and producer, dubbed “the coolest woman in pop” (The Times) and “one of the 21st century’s best musicians” (The Economist). As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, her music defies easy categorization, crafting her own sound that blends various genres. She has released ten albums of original material, two cover albums, and an anthology.

Several weeks ago, Joan released Real Life Evolution versions of 'Flushed Chest' and 'The Ride', following the video for 'Anyone'. Accompanied by Will Graefe and Jeremy Gustin, she now unveils the fourth video in the 'The Real Life Anniversary Sessions', recorded at The Owl Music Parlor in Brooklyn by Adam Sachs and filmed by Ehud Lazin. The album version was recorded at Hayyam Studios in Istanbul by Ceylan Akcar and Sinan Sakizli.

Joan explains, “This arrangement grew from a beat Parker Kindred developed nearly a decade ago. It found its current form when Will Graefe crafted a beautiful acoustic guitar part, and the three of us — Will, Jeremy Gustin, and I — played it together every night on tour. I originally wrote it as a gospel song about the impossibility of being someone’s “everything.” Over time, it’s taken on a new meaning too: a reminder not to demand that of myself.”

Joan As Police Woman is a sought-after collaborator who has recorded and/ or performed with hundreds of artists, including Afrobeat legend Tony Allen, Lou Reed, Anohni & The Johnsons, Meshell Ndegeocello, Rufus Wainwright, John Cale, David Byrne, Dave Okumu, Chris Dowd, Lau, Scissor Sisters, Sparklehorse, Beck, Laurie Anderson, Lloyd Cole, Afel Bocoum, Dave Gahan, Tanya Donelly, David Sylvian, Steve Jansen and Damon Albarn (who duetted with Joan on her song 'Get My Bearings' and invited her to feature on the Gorillaz album 'Song Machine'). 17TH ANNUAL “DARIUS AND FRIENDS” BENEFIT CONCERT RETURNS TO NASHVILLE’S RYMAN AUDITORIUM MONDAY, JUNE 1

Multi-time Diamond-certified superstar Darius Rucker returns to the historic Ryman Auditorium on Monday, June 1 for his 17th annual “Darius and Friends” concert benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. The event, which unofficially kicks off the week of CMA Fest in downtown Nashville and has raised more than $5.1 million to date, will feature a surprise all-star roster of friends as has become tradition at the annual celebration.
 
Rucker, who has always prioritized philanthropic work throughout his career, made a commitment to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital nearly two decades ago after taking an inspiring tour of the hospital in 2008. Through this meaningful experience, Rucker learned how St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
 
Rucker’s effort has since become an annual tradition, with the Tennessean celebrating last year’s show as “a night of old favorites and new music delivered by both seasoned and fresh faces from the music industry.”

Philip Labonte of All That Remains' 2024 Op-Ed Gains Momentum as Federal Legislation Emerges

Philip Labonte, founder and lead singer of All That Remains, is drawing attention to his 2024 op-ed, "The Silent Crisis: Why Society is Failing Men and Boys," as new legislation introduced by Reps. Nathanial Moran (TX-1) and Derrick Van Orden (WI-3) reflects growing concern around the challenges facing men and boys in America. The op-ed was followed by multiple meetings on Capitol Hill to discuss how Congress can support boys and men across the country.

In the op-ed, Labonte highlighted rising male disengagement from education, work, and community, alongside increasing rates of depression, addiction, and suicide. His perspective is shaped by decades of direct interaction with fans, many of whom have shared personal struggles with isolation and lack of purpose.

"We are watching too many young men drift without direction or support," said Labonte. "If we don't take this seriously, we risk losing an entire generation not just of men, but of fathers and leaders."

Recent data underscores these concerns. According to the Pew Research Center, men now make up just 44% of college students, while the National Institute of Mental Health reports significantly higher suicide rates among men.

While the newly introduced legislation marks an important step in elevating these issues, Labonte is calling for broader awareness and action.

"This is a societal issue that requires real attention and real solutions," he added. "Acknowledging the problem is just the beginning."

Cult rock group Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats are back in the ditch with their new single "Don't Let It Control You" via Killer Candy Records.

A blood-soaked taster from their forthcoming studio album, "Don't Let It Control You" sees the band rip through 03:45 of psycho rock at chainsaw speed. Combining Fuzzrite guitars with driving Stooges piano, out-of-tune harmonies, and Shadow Morton backing vocals, this earworm will be sure to rot in your brain allsummer.

Blacktoothed Return With New Single "Monsters"

With "MONSTERS," blacktoothed deliver one of their most emotionally direct and introspective releases to date. Wes Parker Announces New Album 'Super Rare' Out June 5 via Big Machine Rock

Richmond, Virginia, rising alt-rock artist Wes Parker has announced his eagerly anticipated debut solo album, 'Super Rare', out Friday, June 5 via Big Machine Rock. 'Super Rare' is Parker's latest body of work since 2025's fan favorites 'fantom' and 'Splinter' EPs. In celebration of the news, Parker has dropped his latest single "Little Birdie" from the forthcoming full-length along with the official music video. Speaking about 'Super Rare', Parker shared:

“‘Super Rare’ feels like the closest I’ve gotten to putting my full personality on record. It reminds me of the notebooks I had growing up that were full of sketches, poems, doodles of my observations of people in the suburban America I grew up in. People describe it sounding like 90s alternative rock, bands like Radiohead, Muse and some modern day sounds, like MJ Linderman, The Shins, Mac DeMarco. It’s a melancholic record, but I wanted to let some of my comedy background into the world of the album through interludes from a fictional radio host named DJ Charlie-Horse.”

When asked about "Little Birdie", he commented:

“I think of “Little Birdie” as a pretty simple four-chord psych-rock/surf-rock tune sonically. It’s about watching something in your life crumble away and feeling both mournful yet liberated. I always loved songs with choruses that just had one or two notes. It kind of whips me into a frenzy. So I thought I’d try that on a song of my own. Something about the chorus kind of reminds me of Blink-182.”

The concert marks a historic return for Aldean, a lifelong UGA fan, who 13 years ago became the first-ever, and to date only, artist to headline the venue.

Aldean recently sat down with Billboard’s Chart History to discuss behind the scenes stories throughout his career and catalogue of hits and shared the inspiration behind the album with The Tennessean, sharing “"I want to go out and make music, make records and go tour as long as I can.” 

Having cemented his status as one of the format’s most consistent hitmakers, ACM Artist of the Decade Aldean’s latest studio album Songs About Us follow’s Aldean’s career-spanning collection 30 Number One Hits, which debuted last year at No. 4 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart — marking Aldean’s 13th Top 10 country album in 20 years.  Following his 2026 Full Throttle World Tour, which featured his first headlining run in New Zealand and his highly-anticipated return to Australia for the first time in over a decade, Aldean also announced his Songs About Us Tour which will kick off this July (full dates below). “I was in such an angry state of mind while being in a toxic relationship that kept going in circles. Once I cut things off, it still felt like it would never end. They kept reaching out, getting in my head, and showing up places to try to pull me back in. At that point, I had to face the fact that they never loved me, they just wanted to control me. Writing “PSYCHO” was how I made sense of it all.”

With signature gritty guitars, atmospheric production, and Kami's evocative vocals, her smash hit, "FADE OUT" closed out 2025 as one of her most emotionally charged releases to date. The track capped off her "KANDY" EP era that documented the full arc of heartbreak and healing, garnering millions of streams, 100 million views in short form content, and viral popularity worldwide. Her hit single, "DOPAMINE", earned over 30 million streams and hit #11 on Sirius XM Octane's "Big Uns" Countdown, spotlighting her growth in the modern rock landscape.

HOKKA - UNLEASH DEBUT ALBUM "VIA MISERIA IV" TODAY

A new force in modern rock has arrived.

HOKKA today release their highly anticipated debut album, Via Miseria IV  via Nuclear Blast Records.
To celebrate the release, the band have also unveiled the official video for the album’s haunting title track, 'Via Miseria.'

Forged from the meeting of two towering creative forces in Finnish rock, HOKKA unites Joel Hokka, former frontman of the internationally acclaimed nu metal phenomenon Blind Channel, with Pauli Rantasalmi, the iconic guitarist and songwriter behind The Rasmus, whose influence has helped shape Nordic rock for almost three decades.

Completing the line-up is the formidable young drummer Jimi Aslak, bringing a fresh intensity and dynamic edge to the band’s cinematic, emotionally charged sound.

With Via Miseria IV, HOKKA step boldly into dark and deeply human territory — an album that explores vengeance, love, grief, and the fragile beauty born from pain. Rich in atmosphere and driven by soaring melodies, crushing riffs, and raw emotion, the record journeys into the heart’s most shadowed corners.

Each track unfolds like a bloody rose in bloom: beautiful, aching, and edged with the thorns of loss.

At the emotional core of the album lies the defining line:
“I found a beauty in the pain.”

That lyric serves as the spiritual centrepiece of Via Miseria IV — a powerful statement of resilience and emotional truth. Here, suffering is transformed into something transcendent, and vengeance becomes less about destruction and more about revelation.
