Esteemed rock vocalist and guitarist MIKE TRAMP is pleased to announce the release of his new album, 'Songs of White Lion — Vol. III,' due out on September 19th via Frontiers Music Srl. MIKE TRAMP, the unmistakable voice and principal songwriter of White Lion, concludes his heartfelt trilogy with 'Songs of White Lion — Vol. III,'  a powerful and deeply personal tribute to one of the most iconic bands of the 1980s melodic hard rock scene.

Tramp speaks on how this series of recordings came together:

"For me, the point of re-recording the old classic White Lion songs was all about letting the audience know HOW the band would sound if they come to see us live. Bringing the sound up today and away from a world no more. When I started with 'Vol. I' I must admit, I never thought I’d do 'Vol. II' and now 'Vol. III.' But having done it all now, makes all the more sense to me. If I have to be active playing White Lion in 2025 and onward, there's got to be a natural progression in every way. That is exactly what this Trilogy is all about. 

In this final installment, TRAMP revisits and reimagines ten more essential songs from the White Lion catalog, bringing them back to life with the passion, perspective, and authenticity that only decades of experience can deliver.

Once again backed by his trusted bandmates — Marcus Nand (guitar), Claus Langeskov (bass), and Morten Hellborn(drums) — TRAMP offers fresh but respectful renditions of these classic tracks, capturing their spirit while elevating them with a more refined, seasoned sound.

LANIE GARDNER ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE ALBUM FADED POLAROIDS, DUE SEPTEMBER 5

Named by the Recording Academy as a “2025 Artist to Watch,” Lanie Gardner has officially announced her highly anticipated sophomore album Faded Polaroids, set for release on September 5 via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Alongside the announcement, the North Carolina native has released the album’s powerful lead song, “High Divin,’” featuring legendary Fleetwood Mac co-founder Mick Fleetwood on the drums. A full-circle moment for the 25-year-old artist — whose breakout came from a viral cover of “Dreams” (now at over 100M views) — “High Divin’” is an atmospheric anthem with a heart of self-reflection. Wrapped in shimmering guitars and soaring vocals, it captures the emotional leap of the journey of self-sabotage, while honoring the path that led her there.

“It’s one of the most important songs on the album for me,” Gardner shares. “I was going through a pretty rough patch and needed to give myself a little tough love.”

Produced by Oscar Charles, Jonathan Singleton, Chris Ganoudis and Don Miggs, Faded Polaroids expands on the raw honesty of Gardner’s 2024 debut A Songwriter’s Diary, offering a sonic scrapbook of self-discovery, family roots, romantic twists, and personal healing. Across 18 tracks, Gardner blends country storytelling with indie-rock grit, small-town pop, and boundary-free emotion — a genre-bending vision uniquely.

“I created the idea of Faded Polaroids using actual polaroids. Some brand new, others nicotine-stained, withered, torn and worn from being passed down through the years,” says Gardner. “It felt like zooming out on my whole life and finally seeing the bigger picture. These snapshots — these songs — are the most beautiful parts of me. They tell the story of where I come from, who I come from, what I’ve learned and who I’m becoming. PARADISE LOST’s first album in 5 years, following 2020’s critically acclaimed Obsidian, was produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh and mixed/mastered by Lawrence Mackrory. Ascension’s album cover fittingly features the painting The Court of Death (1870-1902) by renowned British artist George Frederic Watts, which hangs in the Tate Gallery in London. The painting depicts Death as an enthroned angel flanked by allegorical figures of Silence and Mystery guarding sunrise and the star of hope, while a warrior surrenders his sword and a duke his coronet, showing that worldly status offers no protection. The painting’s bleak, prophetic vision embodies Ascension’s dark, tormented soundscapes as mournful verses collide with dire, foreboding riffs.

The release of “The Great Unknown” follows weeks of escalating online speculation surrounding frontman Spencer Charnas’ increasingly cryptic and eerily odd behavior. BABYLON A.D. Sign with Kivel Records for the Release of Their New Album WHEN THE WORLD STOPS

BABYLON A.D. isn’t sitting back on the success of their last album “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day”, they spent early 2025 in the studio recording their follow up album WHEN THE WORLD STOPS and are now excited to announce they signed a deal with Kivel Records for the release of the new album before the end of 2025.

Derek Davis, lead singer, spoke about the new album and signing with Kivel Records, “We are so excited about this release, WHEN THE WORLD STOPS! This album is gonna blow peoples minds, there are so many different types of Babylon A.D. songs on this one and signing with Kivel Records we think is going to help us with the promotion structure and backing that we need for the album. The excitement and professionalism that the owner John Kivel has shown us, along with his belief in the band really sold us on signing with his label.  Our last album “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day” really helped put the band back on the map. All the fan support, radio play and reviews we received from the album were so amazing. It really feels good to know… We Are Truly Back!

The first Single/Video “When The World Stops’ will be released the first week of August in conjunction with our first show at the “Whisky A Go Go” on August 8th! We then play a couple shows the following weekend in Denver and Salt Lake City and the band is very exited to take our Power of Music to the U.K and Greece in September.

Eivør - signs to Nuclear Blast Records + unveils European tour trailer

Renowned Faroese artist Eivør has signed to the legendary Nuclear Blast Records, marking a thrilling new chapter in her boundary-breaking career. Known for her powerful vocals, primal performance energy, and genre-defying compositions, Eivør today unveils the official trailer for her 2025 European Tour, which will feature special guest Ásgeir and support from Elinborg.

In addition to the tour and label signing, Eivør is currently at work on her next studio album, due for release in 2026 on Nuclear Blast. This eagerly anticipated record follows her critically acclaimed album ENN, which fused Faroese folk tradition, cinematic landscapes, electronic production, and haunting vocals - cementing her reputation as one of the most innovative Nordic artists of her generation.

“Signing with Nuclear Blast feels like a natural next step,” says Eivør. “My music has always lived in the space between worlds and I’m honoured to join a label that embraces artistic freedom and is passionate about my music. I'm already deep into writing new material, and I can’t wait to share what’s coming next.”

Over the past two decades, Eivør has released 11 albums and composed for major international productions including The Last Kingdom and God of War. Her live performances are known for their immersive and ritualistic intensity, blending voice, atmosphere, and visual storytelling into something truly transcendent.

Eivør’s home, the Faroe Islands, is a small island country in the North Atlantic, which was populated by Scandinavians in the Viking Age. It is a land of extremes, full of contrasts, with heavy, dark winters, and bright, joyful summers. Eivør is deeply inspired by the unique Faroese landscape and its vibrant traditional folk music. Despite centuries of foreign rule, the Faroese folk culture has persevered, especially through communal singing and dancing. This cultural resilience in the face of a harsh nature and foreign dominance strongly informs Eivør’s music: “A very strong part of Faroese culture is singing together—anywhere people gather, there will be singing,”Eivør explains. “When you listen to old Faroese traditional music, it’s sung acapella and takes you back to its Renaissance roots. It’s pure, expressive, and untamed.”

Eivør has cultivated her distinct guttural singing technique under inspiration from beatboxing, throat-singing, and heavy metal growling to convey the untamed expressiveness inherent to traditional Faroese music and culture. It is a primal call to return to her roots in natural landscape of her birthplace.

Often considered to be one of the most prolific and unique Nordic artists of her generation, Eivør has released 11 studio albums to date, crossing musical genres and always pushing the bounds of the expected. Presented with two Icelandic Music Awards for her sophomore album and the Nordic Council Music Price in 2021, Eivør’s musical journey continues to fascinate.

Eivør is happy to be embraced by the metal community. She identifies a shared pagan sensibility in her television scores like The Last Kingdom. “I never felt I really fit into any box,” said Eivør. “I just have to do it my own way.”

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild have unleashed their new track "living ded" and the accompanying official video (via Sumerian Records). Prior to today, the band released the official music video for "sLeepwALKeR", which climbed the TikTok Viral Music Charts to #43 with 22.6k organic creations on the platform. The sister duo next shared "Button Eyes" which continues to climb the ranks at Active Rock radio. Most recently, The Pretty Wild dropped their banger "OMENS" and official music video. Altogether, the tracks have clocked over 15 million streams on Spotify alone and nearly 2 million views on YouTube. Speaking about today's release, the band shared:

"'Living ded' is about reclaiming power through an intense and seemingly unbeatable struggle. When you’re dragged to your darkest depths, almost into existential collapse, and you find yourself suspended in this kind of weird liminal space. Some choose to stay there, but others self-realize the suffering, refuse to disappear, and choose to rise again as something new raw, almost ghostly or unkillable. Silly Goose Announce "Keys to the City" Album + Share Double Single

Lee Brice Kicks Off Las Vegas Songwriters Festival Aug. 21 + Single Day Tickets On Sale Now

Multi-Platinum Curb Records recording artist and songwriter Lee Brice will join the lineup of the Las Vegas Songwriters Festival presented by MGM Resorts International and Entersong Entertainment taking place Aug. 21-24. With more than 10 billion career streams, the country music superstar will kick off the four-day event at House of Blues Las Vegas inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
 
Fans will have the opportunity to experience Lee Brice: Stories and Songs as the ACM and CMA Award winner performs hits from his catalog – which includes nine No. 1 singles – alongside some of the songwriters who helped bring those songs to life, including Billy Montana, Bobby Pinson, Brian Davis, Jerrod Niemann, Justin Wilson, Lance Miller, Liz Rose, Phil Barton and Rob Hatch.
 
Single day tickets are now available for Thursday, Aug. 21, Friday, Aug. 22 and Saturday, Aug. 23, along with general admission and VIP tickets for the four-day experience. Tickets starting at $69, not including applicable fees and taxes, may be purchased via LVSF Single Day Tickets.

Sátan is a three day metal festival happening in Stykkishólmur on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. The festival focuses on offering a variety of Iceland’s best metalbands as well as a carefully curated selection of international bands.

"culture wound" serves as a centerpiece for the album's exploration of duality and self-examination. The track underwent extensive revision to achieve its final form—a testament to the band's commitment to getting every detail right on this deeply personal record.

We Came As Romans will support the new album with their massive Bad Luck World Tour, the North American leg of which kicks off on July 22nd in Toronto and culminates in what is sure to be a historical homecoming when they play legendary venue, The Fillmore in Detroit on August 23rd, the day after the album is released. The tour then heads to Europe and the UK in the fall. The band will also appear at major festivals including Warped Tour, Inkcarceration, and When We Were Young.

New England fivesome RESTRAINING ORDER — Pat Cozens [vocals], Dylan Tobia [guitar], Kyle Beaudreault [guitar], Jake Miller [guitar], Keith Freeman[bass], and Will Hirst [drums] — traffic in no nonsense hardcore punk. 

After amassing millions of streams, praise from Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and more while regularly reducing venues to piles of ash, the group will deliver its third full-length Future Fortune on September 12. Emerging in 2017, Restraining Order hit their stride with 2019's This World Is Too Much. Green Carnation Announce New Album 'The Shores of Melancholia'

No matter how long or where the journey has taken them, Green Carnation have always sought to climb the highest mountains. While founded by Emperor's former bassist Tchort in the early '90s, the Norwegians quickly amassed a cult following while blazing their own trail through fields of symphonic doom, hard rock, acoustic plucking and progressive metal.

Had they never returned from hiatus during the mid-2000s, this band would've been remembered for completing one of the most ambitious individual epics in metal's vaunted archives. And yet, one mighty tale - or three, to be exact - continued to elude them. That is, until now. Two decades removed from its initial conception, Green Carnation have finally completed their masterpiece.

Today, the prog auters are announcing the first part of A Dark Poem, a grand and gloomy album trilogy that was inspired by Arthur Rimbaud's dreamy ode to Shakespeare's Ophelia. The Shores of Melancholiaremains grounded in the band's newfound heavy hooks, but though heavenly to the ears, lead single "In Your Paradise" is awash with doubt over our distorted view of the world.

"We are so excited to announce our long-awaited album trilogy", Green Carnation says. "A Dark Poem promises to take listeners to the highest tops as well as their darkest inner rooms. Its opening chapter begins in a melancholic place that we have long associated with our music".

Pinkshift Share "Vacant" Video

Maryland trio PINKSHIFT recently announced their new album EARTHKEEPER, which arrives August 29 via Hopeless Records. Pre-order it here. 

Today, the band has shared the video for the uptempo, punk rock anthem "Vacant." Watch the late-night dance party, inspired by a surprising source, below.

"For 'Vacant,' we drew upon our ever-present punk influences to create a sound that feels familiar while also introducing concepts new to us," the band states. "Though we're no strangers to breakdowns, the one in this song was inspired by grunge jam sections rather than hardcore/metalcore, and ended up becoming of the grooviest parts we've ever written."

The band finishes, "'Vacant' is cheeky, urgent, and energetic, and we wanted to reflect that visually with a lighthearted, un-serious music video. Inspired by Beyonce's '7/11' video, it showcases the three of us and our two touring members, Michael and Kirby, just hanging out. A simple concept, but it captures our genuine selves connecting and reconnecting with the song and each other as we have a late-night dance party."

INFAMOUS STIFFS Release Their Six Song EP "The Ornery Six" Announce a Free Show in Los Angeles July 12th

OAKLAND, CA - Southern California punk rockers INFAMOUS STIFFS have released their EP "The Ornery Six" on Golden Robot Records. "The Ornery Six" is a six-song EP that punches hard and fast, clocking in at around 15 minutes — pure punk adrenaline distilled into a compact, no-nonsense format. The name “ornery” isn’t just clever wordplay; it speaks to the EP’s defiant, snarling, and rebellious energy. It’s not polished radio punk — this is raw, blue-collar, Southern California punk rock with roots in skate culture, garage grit, and East Coast snarl. Infamous Stiffs aren’t trying to reinvent punk — they’re reaffirming it. This EP is a reminder of what punk sounds like when it's not concerned with being cool or commercial. The track "Lonesoul” is the most moody track on "The Ornery Six", slowing things down a bit to focus on feelings of mortality and struggles with it. Instead of fast punk energy, it has a heavy, steady beat and dark guitar riffs that create an intense, gritty sound. The vocals are rough but honest, with lyrics that feel personal and real. It’s a powerful break from the louder songs on the EP—a moment that can show the band’s raw, human side.

With the release of the EP Nathan Cox steps in to do the visual part. Known for his work with hard rock and metal acts, Cox brings a moody, cinematic edge - think dim lighting, stark shadows, and slow, deliberate jump cuts that mirror the song’s slower pace and somber feel. South African goth-rock /darkwave legends THE AWAKENING launch 'Haunting Tour 2025'

South African gothic-darkwave act The Awakening is touring again for the first time in nearly a decade, kicking things off this week. This time around, it's in support of their eponymous 12th album, released via Intervention Arts on vinyl, CD, digitally and various limited-edition formats.  

The 'Haunting Tour 2025' includes headline shows in Germany, France, Canada, the UK and the USA, as well as co-headline performances at the legendary Castle Party in Poland and Brainstorm Fest in the Netherlands. They will also headline the first edition of Glōm Fest, a new pop-up festival, which will take six international acts up the west coast of the US from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Canada. The band is also set to tour Mexico and Portugal this year (dates to be announced).

Joining Ashton Nyte on stage for The Awakening’s tour is long-term guitarist Jeremy Kohnmann (also of London After Midnight), bassist Diego “Ashes” Ibarra(previously Static-X, DevilDriver, currently Wednesday 13) and long-term South African drummer Sevven. At various points, the band will be joined by Germany's The Last Decade and Britain's The Royal Ritual.

Now US-based, The Awakening was formed in Johannesburg in the late ’90s as the creative expression of vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ashton Nyte, who was anointed as "Johannesburg's Bowie" for his widely varying musical styles and theatrical performances. Having morphed over the years, The Awakening's sound incorporates numerous genres, including gothic rock, darkwave, post-punk, electronic rock, folk noir, new wave and more.

The Awakening recently shared the video for 'Through The Veil', following dark creations for 'Mirror Midnight' and 'Haunting', each of which has amassed over one million views. Once again, we can indulge in his preferred black-and-white Film Noir format.

"'Through The Veil' tells the story of someone who has left this world but still wants to be near the one they love. I think it is beautifully romantic and relatable in any setting where we are separated from the person we need to be close to," says frontman Ashton Nyte.

"After the uptempo adventures in the last two videos, I enjoyed approaching this one from a more atmospheric story-teller perspective".

Ashton Nyte is a core contributor to LA-based supergroup Beauty In Chaos, involved with every album released to date, including the latest 'Dancing With Angels' and 'Signs in the Heavens Reality Upside Down'. Nyte has also collaborated with members of The Cure, The Mission, Tricky, Peter Murphy's band and All About Eve.
