Lauded French synthwave artist, producer and singer SIERRA and electro icon Carpenter Brut are teaming up once again—this time for her brand-new single “Power,” out today.

SIERRA first appeared on Carpenter Brut’s album Leather Terror last year, and now he’s repaying the favor adding a dark, horror-fueled backbeat to the layered dance track.

The track is the latest single from SIERRA’s debut album, A Story Of Anger coming September 15 via Virgin Records France. In total, it features 11 emotive tracks that tap into SIERRA’s own unique brand of sound, inspired by synthwave, EBM and darkwave and with moody ebbs and flows that spiral from violence and melancholy to sweetness and brutality.

In addition to Carpenter Brut, A Story Of Anger also features new collaborations with Corvad and L.A.-based noise rock/industrial act HEALTH.

Archetypes Collide Share "Fade Away" Video

Arizona upstarts ARCHETYPES COLLIDE — Kyle Pastor (vocals), Brandon Baker and Jared Knister (guitars), Ky Sanders (bass), and Tyler Flamm(drums) — quickly established themselves as a band unafraid to blur the lines between safety and innovation in heavy music. ABOUT ARCHETYPES COLLIDE:
ARCHETYPES COLLIDE demand repeated listening, mixing everything from Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon to The Chainsmokers, and Stranger Things-style retro synths, into a unique musical identity. A collection of singles and EPs drew a devoted fanbase and the attention of Oshie Bichar, bassist for Beartooth. Bichar enlisted his management, and the pair took Archetypes Collide under their wing. If Hell hosted a dance party - FLEISCHKRIEG would be the headliner. The band’s retro synths and crushing guitars of “BrutalWave” deliver a bold new take on heavy electronic music. Their debut album, Herzblut, is steeled in melodic synth, metal guitars, and apocalyptic vocals, packing a heavy enough punch to keep any fan of industrial rock music listening from beginning to end.

FLEISCHKRIEG is the result of a chance encounter between an Uberdriver and a drunk passenger partying in Seattle. The driver, RICHARD CRANOR, and the passenger, THOMAS CRAWFORD, found themselves kindred spirits through a mutual love of RAMMSTEIN and industrial metal. When the opening act dropped out of THOMAS’s solo CERAPHYM show, he invited RICHARD to perform in their place. RICHARD agreed with the caveat that THOMAS play guitars, and FLEISCHKRIEG was formed.

The group, currently based in Las Vegas, cite RAMMSTEIN, DIE KRUPPS, and LORD OF THE LOST as musical influences. Their moody electronic sound melds industrial metal with darkwave undertones, creating the genre of “Brutalwave”: a blend of new wave, metal guitars, and crushing industrial dance beats and vocals. Now with the addition of NICK MASON on Drums and KAYLIE CORTEZon synth/keyboards, FLEISCHKRIEG’s live shows are a force to be reckoned with.

Nicole Papastavrou's solid history of songwriting and tight rhythms paired with Colin Cook's jazzy and technical leads are the perfect compliment. Silent Planet Announce "SUPERBLOOM" Album + Share "Collider" Video

California metal band SILENT PLANET have announced their new album SUPERBLOOM. It arrives November 3 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

The release date is significant for the band, as it arrives on the anniversary of their horrific van accident.

"Take all the darkness. All the vitriol, the greed and the vanity; lay it again as dust. Everything can be alchemized. This song is called 'Collider,'" says singer Garrett Russell. "It's about what comes out of our lives when the people we trust and hold closest are the ones who can hurt or betray us the worst. We don't have to run from the pain or be afraid. The dark gives us the energy to make something beautiful. The song is about alchemizing the darkness and transforming its negative properties."

When the band dropped "Antimatter," Revolver enthused, "Silent Planet's new single begins with throbbing electronic pulsations and robotic clean croons, making you think that you're in for a clubby pop song. Nope. The djent instrumentation comes crashing through, and eventually the whole song builds up to a screamed chant that blends poledance-worthy synths with rigid, toe-stubbing breakdowns. Fuck yes."

"A SUPERBLOOM is this strange moment where brilliant fauna spring forth unexpectedly and bring forth such an array of colors, it almost feels alien in origin," Garrett notes. "It only lasts for a couple of weeks before it’s gone. While we were recording, the SUPERBLOOM was happening. For me, the record is getting in touch with the other side and watching the strange and paranormal emerge from the mundane and profane, hence the title."

Silent Planet has consistently transfixed a diehard fanbase. The group dropped a string of acclaimed albums, including The Night God Slept [2014], Everything Was Sound [2016], When The End Began [2018], and Iridescent [2021]. Album standout "Trilogy" generated 5.3 million Spotify streams to sit alongside their genre-bending triumph "Panic Room" from the 2016 release, currently at 5 million. The guys notably took home "Best Underground Band" at the 2017 Alternative Press Music Awards and toured with the likes of Motionless In White, August Burns Red, Beartooth, and The Contortionist.

Over the course of two years, they recorded what would become SUPERBLOOMin Woodland Hills, CA alongside longtime producer and frequent collaborator Daniel Braunstein. A jarring turn of events split the process into two seasons. Trekking through a Wyoming snowstorm in November 2022, Silent Planet survived a vehicle accident. The van flipped over, leaving the group laying in the wreckage of a bitter Wyoming snowstorm as Garrett was hospitalized with a fractured back and head wound requiring stitches.

"The majority of us were awake when we felt the van start to slide," he says. "We had some time to come to grips with the fact we were about to go down and have a close brush with death. Afterwards, we talked about what to do with the band. We went back into the record with an increased willingness to take risks. It bolstered our confidence to try new things. When the accident happened, it did something to my head, and it fed into the album."

Along the way, they settled on a conceptual framework, expanding the scope of their vision like never before. "I grew up in Northern California," he continues. "There's a strip of the state known as Humboldt County, but it's called the 'Lost Cove.' It's a hotbed for strange and paranormal events like UFO and Big Foot sightings. There's so much we haven't uncovered. It's possible our reality as we know it is not complete. We started telling the tale of a 17-year-old who went missing. It's based on a true story with many details changed. Art dictates reality, and reality dictates art. Making this record was a very strange and mystical process. It's the most magical and inspired moment of our career so far."

"'Castaway' is about longing for connection with the people in our lives who tend to distance themselves when dealing with hardships, and how our inability to help them often feels like we're frozen in time," the band says.

“With this one, we weren’t really focused on how it sounded as much as we focused on how it felt," Pauley explains. "And that's a weird thing to do when all you're working with is sound. But that was really the goal. And we walked away from making it, feeling like we've accomplished that."
 
OM&M take sobering looks at depression, anxiety, loneliness, and existential dread, powering through the darkness, and emphasizing the importance of creativity as a balm for mental health. A commanding tempest of sounds coalesces within Of Mice & Men, blending the uplifting eloquence of modern active rock with the atmospheric dissonance of experimental post-rock. The band first emerged as part of a vanguard of future aggressive rock hitmakers. Over the years, they've distinguished themselves with musicality, creative ambition, and resilient determination. 

Album eight is no less ambitious. Tether is anchored by a reflective meditation on what it means to draw together as friends, family men, artists, and bandmates. What does it mean to be there for the people who depend on us, knowing we can’t fully protect them from the hardships of life? 
 
Tether is the next step in OM&M's evolution, combining their core sound with experimental and ethereal sound designs. The creative process focused on the excitement of discovery rather than preconceived "goals." Pursuing the moments when the elusive "x factor" reveals itself in the songs. Those moments are palpable in songs like "Integration," "Warpaint," "Enraptured," and "Indigo."

MAYHEM Unveils Official Live Version of "Chainsaw Gutsfuck"

True Norwegian black metal pioneer MAYHEM will be releasing a monumental live album, 'Daemonic Rites,' on September 15, 2023 via Century Media Records! The record is a comprehensive look at the legendary band's chaotic and intense performances from various cities around the world over the last two years. The album promises to be a thrilling sonic journey for fans and a testament to Mayhem's unparalleled live prowess.

Now, Mayhem is debuting the live version of "Chainsaw Gutsfuck" along with a visualizer, which can be found below.

“We wanted to document how great the band and set sounds like after almost 40 years of playing live," Necrobutcher previously explained. "As a treat to our fans, we decided to release this live recording.

“I knew from day one back in 1984 that this band was going to be outstanding—one of the best bands ever! I guess that’s a big reason why we still are here after 39 years—and counting.”

'Daemonic Rites' marks the culmination of the 'Daemon' era, which commenced in 2019 with the release of their critically acclaimed studio album, 'Daemon.' The journey continued with the savage EP 'Atavistic Black Disorder' in 2021, leaving audiences hungry for more. This latest live conglomeration serves as the ultimate chapter-closer for this landmark.

New England Metal & Hardcore Fest launched back in 1999 and took place at the famed Palladium in Worcester through 2018. It was often held over two or three days, with multiple stages and top-tier acts like Megadeth, Manowar, DragonForce, Opeth, Between the Buried & Me, Meshuggah, Killswitch Engage, Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, and more appearing through the years. It was always a "who's who" of the metal and hardcore scene and was a "not to be missed" event each Spring.

It took a brief break after 2018 but it's back and better than ever.

The event returns as a two-day extravaganza on September 15 and 16. Parkway Drive and Lamb of God will serve as headliners, with an incredible roster of bands gracing three stages — two outside stages and the main room. VIP tickets are available here.

Also, E-Town Concrete and Swollen Teeth have been added to the lineup.

As part of the celebration, local brewery Tin Ridge Brewing is releasing a festival-inspired beer.
 

"Tin Bridge Brewing is extremely excited to be partnering again with Mr. Scott Lee and the New England Metal & Hardcore fest this year," says owner (and Within the Ruins guitarist) Joe Cocchi. Puerto Rican prog/stoner rockers MOTHS have announced a string of US fall dates. The band is currently supporting their widely applauded 2022 full length, ‘Space Force’. Scotty McCreery Releases Heartbreak Single "Cab in a Solo"

Following several teases on his social media and with five consecutive No. 1 hits under his belt, Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery begins the next chapter in his career with today’s release of his latest single “Cab in a Solo.” The country crooner, who turns 30 this fall, has spent almost half his life making country music while continuing to push himself and grow creatively as well as personally. Randall King Debuts 2 New Tracks: “Hard To Be Humble” & “The One You’re Waiting On”

Hereford, Texas native Randall King brings his Billboard-praised “sturdy baritone” to the forefront alongside a healthy dose of hubris and equal parts vulnerability on latest double-shot delivery: “The One You’re Waiting On” and “Hard To Be Humble.” Listen HERE. 
 
The son of a working man, King was raised on the influences of country music greats Alan Jackson, George Strait, Keith Whitley and more; his neo-traditional style a byproduct of living life the way he often heard reflected in their lyrics. It was this same authenticity that rang out when King first heard “The One You’re Waiting On” and was instantly drawn to the longing, reflective track.
 
“The first time I heard this song, I had it playing in my truck and was just blown away, pretty sure I missed a turn,” King laughs. “The song is just incredible. I have sung along to it so many times runnin’ down the highway. I have always loved it and you can hear my passion for this song reflected in my vocals. “We were pitched ‘Hard To Be Humble’ by my buddy Jake Gear (produces Hailey Whitters), and the email had gotten lost in the mess of what my inbox is. Two days before we went in to cut I just happened to be going back through my old emails and found this song sittin’ there, put it on, and went ‘Whoa… how was this song missed?!’ We cut this catchy fun love song and boy I got to tell ya, I’m sure glad I double checked my Gmail that day!”
 
As he continues to tease new music, King is set to kick off “KingFest” at the Nashville Palace tonight for the first of two back-to-back shows in Music City. The two-day branded festival event features support from Tyler Booth, Braxton Keith, Drake Milligan and Jon Stork. 

Already known for his road warrior diet of over 150 dates each year touring across the United States, King continues his trek internationally next month with 11 European tour stops. With five of the shows already sold-out, the overseas dates have been met with fan enthusiasm, leading King to set his sights on larger venues to meet the demand. About Randall King:
One of country’s new crop of modern traditionalists, Warner Music Nashville artist Randall King grew up on the endless plains of West Texas – and his sound is steeped in their timeless beauty with a mix of grit and grace. Movements have mastered the art of push and pull dissonance throughout the course of their career and that signature style is patently evident on "I Hope You Choke!" Tinny, tense guitar work, alternately sung and talked lyrics, and a gang chant of "I hope you choke" perfectly capture sonic storm-and-stress, the tension-and-release style that fans know and love.

It's been a whirlwind few years for Movements as evidenced by the fact that band's 2020 album No Good Left to Give debuted at #3 on the Alternative chart and their streams have doubled since then with 200 million total streams in the U.S. alone. However, despite their success, the Southern Californian act have constantly reinvented themselves since forming in 2015 and the band's third full-length RUCKUS! sees the post-hardcore quartet taking their sound to expansive and sometimes unexpected places. Produced by longtime collaborator Will Yip (Circa Survive, Code Orange), the album fuses post-hardcore and punk influences with a healthy dose of pop songcraft to create an album that defies scene conventions in favor of something wholly unique. In order to accomplish this, the band made three extended trips to Yip's Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, to write and record the collection of songs that would end up as RUCKUS! "I truly don't believe that it could have been a more streamlined process and I don't think we've ever written music that's as good as what we put together for this record," Miranda explains. RUCKUS! sees the band integrating decidedly different influences such as Gorillaz and Strokes into their sound to challenge people's preconceptions.

Portland indie pop artist Berkley presents his new single 'Your Place', previewing his debut full-length album 'Pueblo', slated for release on September 1 via Oregon-based label Big Secret Records. While recent singles explore his history and hometown of Pueblo, Colorado, here Berkley holds the mirror to himself, examining his past only to realize that it endures.

Berkley revisits the good, the bad and the ugly, Berkley concluding that ultimately, some things never change. He sums it up best in the chorus: “I’m uncomfortable with myself / you think you leave that behind but it stays on your face”.With verses that sketch one view of the past, Berkley revisits the good, the bad, and the ugly as he comes to terms with how some things never change.

Berkley explains, “Your Place started as an attempt to write as if I were 12 years old but possessed the vocabulary and perspective to capture all the big new feelings I had. That exercise led me to realize I haven’t stopped feeling as out of place and anxious as I did in middle school. The song came to be about the insecurities that stay with you and how they shape or guide your life despite your best efforts."

Interrogating the small spaces shared between what-ifs of the past and the realities of the present is where Berkley’s songwriting shines. Earlier, he released 'Pueblo Nights', which explores themes of memory, youth, and growth in Berkley’s hometown of Pueblo, Colorado, and 'Fiesta Day', where he blows the dust off the events that shape us to reveal what follows, revisiting the end of a teenage friendship with clarity brought by time.

Berkley is the nom-de-plume of Andrew Jones, a recording engineer whose production and songwriting adventures include recording with former Cher bassist and ASCAP award winner Bob Parr, a power pop collaboration with members of The Offspring, and the “gorgeous” (AV Club) synthesizer project Sound for Bombs.

As Berkley, Jones weaves together a wide range of influences, diving in with renewed vigor for writing and performing. In terms of his origins, after touring in his own punk and metal bands in his teens and early 20s, Andrew Jones took a chance on the Los Angeles songwriting scene, ultimately finding himself as part of a team of writers tasked with developing early ideas for Michael Jackson’s comeback album.

Following Jackson’s death, Jones reevaluated his path in music and stopped writing and performing for three years while he taught university writing and literature. Jones’ muses returned in 2010 when he quit his teaching job to immerse himself in jazz guitar studies and rekindle his relationship with music and his primary instrument.

As of August 14, 'Your Place' is available via Bandcamp, where the full 'Pueblo' album (out September 1) can be pre-ordered on CD and vinyl, the first 100 of which come in a random color (brown, army green, gray, or purple). It also includes exclusive audio from vintage Pueblo KDZA broadcasts and field recordings captured in Pueblo locales significant to Berkley's life. A LIGHT DIVIDED released their latest single "RAIN" to all major platforms on August 11, 2023. The single was produced by Kile Odell (Nita Strauss, Motionless in White, Saul). In support of the single, the band will hit the road this August with Rise Among Rivals.

“The concept of 'Rain' originally came about in 2021 but it never felt quite right. After a series of reworks with longtime producer Kile Odell and Zach Williams, we decided to strip it down and put all the focus on the vocals and the message. For me, that was the most important part. We also liked the idea of hiding these dark, sarcastic lyrics inside an upbeat song. Lyrically, 'Rain' is about the silent suffering of battling a depressive episode while simultaneously seeming okay to to the outside world,” says the band's vocalist Jaycee Clark.

A Light Divided is led by the powerhouse vocals of front woman Jaycee Clark with instrumentation from drummer Adam Smith along with guitarists Doug Weichbrodt and Scott Vallina. Together, they create a unique blend of rock and metal with a pop sensibility.

Ian Munsick Shares Fan-Requested "Western Wedding" EP, Out Now

Fans have long-shared with Ian Munsick how they danced to his songs, ruggedly earnest and humbly romantic, at their weddings. With such fans in mind, the Wyoming native has crafted an EP befitting of a Western Wedding (listen HERE). The eight-track project comprises four of his original songs, with both piano-backed and instrumental-only versions of each. See track listing below. 
 
“Over the last few years, requests for me to make ‘piano versions’ of my love ballads have overflown my inbox,” Munsick shared. “I’m always so honored when couples use my music for their wedding soundtrack, or when one of my songs epitomizes a relationship between two people. SiM Drops New Single + AI Music Video "HiDE AND SEEK" Taken From Upcoming New Album 'PLAYDEAD' Out On September 27 (via UNFD)

Genre-blending Japanese metal, punk, and reggae outfit SiM has today dropped their latest offering "HiDE AND SEEK" and the accompanying music video, created by AI visual artists The Dor Brothers. Drawing inspiration from a previously recorded reggae melody created during the lockdown in 2020, "HiDE AND SEEK" morphed into its final form when SiM vocalist MAH reconstructed the verse, changed the key of the melody, and added a chorus on a track that was originally written for the band's previous album "THANK GOD, THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF WAYS TO KiLL ENEMiES". Luckily, today's release can be found on SiM's upcoming new album 'PLAYDEAD' out on Friday, September 27 (via UNFD). When asked about the lyrical inspiration of the track, MAH shared:

"In [the children's game] ‘HiDE AND SEEK’, the equivalent Japanese phrase “Mouiikai” by the seeker is “Ready or Not”. But [in the Japanese version] the following response “Madadayo” meaning “not-yet (ready)” doesn’t exist in the English version of the game suggesting that the demons will come looking for you regardless of whether you’re “Ready or Not.”

Speaking about the incredible "HiDE AND SEEK" AI video, MAH commented:

“This is SiM’s very first AI-Generated music video. Will AI truly take over mankind one day?! I want people to embrace that “AI-nxiety” and enjoy the video.”

After making waves with their smash-hit singles "The Rumbling" and "Under The Tree" featured on the massively popular anime series "Attack On Titan", SiM has since released their lead single "RED", the theme song for the new season of the Netflix anime series "Kengan Ashura".
