CAVO Releases New EP "Covers Vol. 1" + Video for "Don't Dream It's Over"

CAVO released their new Covers Vol. 1 EP to all major platforms via TLG/INgrooves today, August 4, 2023.

In celebration of Covers Vol. 1, the band released a new music video for the song "Don't Dream It's Over."

When asked about "Don’t Dream It’s Over", Chris Hobbs says, "I’ve always loved this song! I remember hearing it in one the opening scenes of Stephen Kings The Stand tv series as kid and being captivated. It’s beautiful sounding yet haunting and sad at the same time. I’ve always had it in my head to cover it. Not to change it up or do a different take of it. Wanted to keep to the feel I fell in love with all those years ago."

The creative force of Rock/Alternative from St. Louis is still creating and releasing new music. Humble beginnings to major label success to where they are now seems like a whirlwind but a lot of bands find themselves in these spaces. Bassist Brian Smith says “We are still a band releasing music we want to release and we hope people dig what we are doing”. Drummer Andy Herrin adds, “Every EP or record we do won’t be like one previously released and we have a lot of music to share and create." “The great thing about the four of us in Cavo is that we’ve always been fully committed to this band,” explains bassist Brian Smith. “Even if we haven’t been in a spotlight for a bit and we have other projects going on, our bond is as tight as ever, and we’ve never stopped releasing music. We love writing together, playing together and just being together as friends, and that’s why we’ve been able to keep going together as long as we have.”

Cavo has teamed up with independent distributor TLG/INgrooves to expose all of these new crafted songs to a broader global audience. The band has released several songs from the first of 6 planned EPs, 3 original and 3 cover EPs. The first original EP is titled The Shakes with songs “Not Over You”, "Dizzy" and the self-titled track “The Shakes” being released on September 1st and “Synchronicity II”and “Drive” from the bands CAVO Covers vol.1. to be released on August 4th. Casey states “We are almost finished with our second original EP and after that we start work on the second covers EP." "It’s just a really cool creative thing we have here and we are really excited to share what we are doing with everyone,” adds Chris.

It's safe to say the CAVO boys are simply writing and recording new material and plan to release tons of new music in 2023 and for unforeseeable future!

US-Swedish indie dream-rock duo I Am a Rocketship releases 'La Cruella' album

"‘Gravity’ is a gently warm song that defies its title by floating on thermal currents, achieving buoyancy through gently pulsing bass lines, splashes of piano and the subtle breeze of Kippner’s elegantly soft vocals... This is a lesson in the underrated art of restraint" ~ Joyzine

"‘Do You Feel Good’ is laden with a swaggering attitude and a thunderous delivery augmented by a raking guitar riff... melodies and thunder similar to Shirley Manson and Garbage. The sound is epic and dramatic with an euphoric, anthemic chorus and a delicious taste of wry cynicism" ~
Backseat Mafia

Atlanta indie pop duo
I Am a Rocketship presents their new 'La Cruella' album, their sixth major release, comprised of ten tracks. In keeping with the band's style, while also exploring new sounds - these compositions are about uncertainty, fear and dreams. Rooted in solid melodies, here the duo mixes warm vocals, loud guitars, and cool electronic beats to explore that place where rock and trip-hop never quite met.

I Am a Rocketship is made up of multi-instrumentalist Eric Weissinger and Swedish artist L E Kippner. Before meeting, Weissinger was a bassist and guitarist backing up various artists and opening for the likes of The Wedding Present, Jamesand The Black Crowes. Upon meeting Kippner (who is a cellist, scientist, radio DJ and vocalist for Swedish synth-pop duo Neobox), the two formed Hitchcock Blondes in Ohio and then I Am a Rocketship upon relocating to Atlanta.

"These songs are about undertainty, fear and dreams. These may be the last songs we make that could be identified as "rock", as we've increasingly fallen in love with longer songs that don't really follow any real blueprint," says L E Kippner.

"We tried a different way of writing songs for this album, and it turned out that every song had a story. Since our musical style has changed a bit with this album, the way that the lyrics tell those stories has changed as well. These songs don't spell out what is happening but are about feelings. We hope people will find something to recognize, maybe feel that one of the song speaks to them."

Eric Weissinger adds, "We just let go on this album, and often said "well, this is going to kill any reputation we had".  It's very pure, for want of a better term. We just wrote what we felt."

Earlier, the duo released  'Do You Feel Good' featuring Kellii Scott (best known as drummer for the legendary band Failure and for his work with Veruca Salt, Dr. Dre, Pink, Enemy and Christina Aguilera), and 'Gravity', a breezy pop number that Weissinger says is "an end-of-summer song. Kind of groovy but a little melancholy", offering a more bare-bones sound than the band's usual atmospheric-heavy style.

I Am a Rocketship's 2016 debut album
'Mission Control' was followed by the 'Mind Grafitti' (2019) and 'Ghost Stories' (2020) albums, 2020's 'oRAnGE' EP and their latest long-player 'Lies and Legends' (2021).

On August 4, the 'La Cruella' album will be available across all fine music platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp.

King Calaway Releases 16-Track Sophomore Album, TENNESSEE’S WAITING

Four years after arriving with their debut project Rivers, Stoney Creek Records’ King Calaway releases their 16-track sophomore album Tennessee’s Waiting. With seven of the tracks produced by Zac Brown, and featuring collaborations with GRAMMY nominee Marcus King, ACM winner Hailey Whitters and Brown on the previously released track, “When I Get Home” — declared a “star-making release” by Billboard – the album showcases the bands’ smooth vocals and cross genre appeal.

On getting to create the album alongside Brown, King Calaway lead guitarist Caleb Miller said, “Working with Zac has been a dream come true. He pushed us to the next level and helped bring our songs to life. We’re so proud of these songs and couldn’t be more ready to share them with the world.”

Guitarist and co-lead vocalist Chad Jervis adds, “It feels pretty incredible to have a new album out after four years. We’ve been sitting on these songs for a long time, and to finally have them released in the world is a great feeling.”

Kicking off with “Best Thing About Me Now,” the upbeat track follows the group graciously acknowledging the better men they’ve become since entering relationships, as they find renewed joy in the simple things when they’re accompanied by their partners. “Let It Flow,” featuring ACM New Female Artist of the Year Hailey Whitters, continues the sentiment of soaking in the small moments with new love as they sing, “Nothing better to do but fall in love / And watch the old river flow.”

As the album progresses, so does King Calaway’s sound, as they showcase the growth they’ve experienced in the four years between projects. In their song alongside Marcus King, the band combines blues, rock and country influences as they toggle between heartbreak and temptation.

The band currently holds the opening slot on Zac Brown Band’s 2023 From the Fire Tour. "I recognized the talent this young group has and when we started working in the studio, so much more unfolded," Brown previously shared with PEOPLE. "I believe in these guys. When [producer] Keith Stegall bet on me and helped me make my first album, that was the launch of my career,” continuing, “it's great to be able to give [that same opportunity] back."

About King Calaway:
Named as one of the seven ‘new Country acts to watch out for’ by Billboard, King Calaway has been taking the Country music industry by storm ever since their 2019 debut album, Rivers. From performing on national TV shows such as Jimmy Kimmel, The Late Late Show with James Corden, TODAY, The Kelly Clarkson Show and the internationally acclaimed show Neighbours to making their Grand Ole Opry debut, the band has opened for Country music icon Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Lainey Wilson, Gabby Barrett and Scotty McCreery. The band's 2021 EP, Midnight, ushered in their more organic harmonious California Country sound that featured “hooky songs with infectious melodies and big, harmony-rich choruses” (
People). Most recently, the “rising Country band” (Country Now) joined forces with the award-winning Zac Brown as their producer on brand new music, including “When I Get Home” that the guys performed with Zac Brown at Nissan Stadium during last year’s CMA Fest as well as the high-energy track “I’m Feelin’ Good (Steve Miller Band).” Having just wrapped 2022 tours with both Blanco Brown and Dustin Lynch, the band is on the road with Zac Brown Band in 2023 and their sophomore album, Tennessee's Waiting – with seven tracks produced by Zac Brown – is available now. Voyager reissue 'V'

Voyager have come a long way. The band just released their breakthrough album 'Fearless in Love', but they first formed back in 1999, when Daniel Estrin was studying at the University of Western Australia.

Different members have come in and out of the Voyager orbit. But by 2014, when 'V' came around, the lineup that would launch the progressive pop metal band all the way to Eurovision had locked into place.

Ashley Doodkorte has always been the one behind Voyager’s covert art, but this is their first album that features him on drums. You can feel his impact right from the jump. “Hyperventilating” tumbles through an asteroid field full of metallic riffage and proggy bass bends. When the chorus hits, the band shoot straight for pop stardom.

Today, Voyager are reissuing 'V' on CD. The new version includes two live bonus tracks. Order it from our online store
HERE.

As much as you can rely on the Earth’s elliptical orbit, you can depend on Voyager to consistently evolve. The band’s interplanetary balance of virtuosic pyrotechnics and sky scraping radio-ready hooks morphs at the speed of sound from one era to the next. In bursts of bright light, luminous keys, neon guitar wizardry, and stratosphere-shaking rhythms, they elevate hard rock to another realm. The group blast off on a signature hybrid of prog, rock, and metal possibly best described as the musical equivalent of Guardians of the Galaxy.

After piling up millions of streams, earning acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, and wowing the globe on the Eurovision Song Contest, the Perth, Australia quintet—Danny Estrin [vocals], Simone Dow [guitar], Scott Kay [guitar], Alex Canion [bass], and Ashley Doodkorte [drums]—take flight like never before on their forthcoming eighth full-length LP, Fearless In Love [Season of Mist].

“It’s progressive in the sense we’re always trying to reinvent and refresh ourselves as musicians,” notes Danny. “I want to develop musically from where we left off. We made sure Fearless In Love was melodic with some sugary hooks, but we also stayed true to our sound and delivered a few more guitar solos. It could appeal to fans of complex music as well as anybody who might want a straight-up banger. It’s a melting pot of the genres that define us distilled into the unique Voyager sound.”

This cohort of dynamic talents and personalities initially crash-landed stateside for a now-renowned performance at the 2011 ProgPower USA Festival in Atlanta, GA. Since then, they’ve unleashed a string of fan favourite albums—V [2014], Ghost Mile [2017], and Colours in the Sun [2019]—in addition to sharing stages with the likes Deftones, Leprous, Devin Townsend, Opeth, and Poppy to name a few. Australia notably handpicked Voyager as its entrant into the global Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with “Promise.” The Guardian hailed the buzzing single as “a pop number that bends the genre with trademark riffs, climactic guitars and keytar solos,” and it crashed the Top 3 of the Australian Independent Label Singles Chart. They even appeared on TODAY Australia to wave the metal flag by teaching daytime TV hosts black metal growls, as plugged by Metal Injection!

Throughout 2022, they crafted what would become Fearless In Love with engineer, mixer, and coproducer Matt Templeman. This time around, the musicians recorded live, unlocking a new energy altogether.

“Normally, we write and record our parts individually, but the whole band decided to go old school and do everything together this time,” he goes on. “This line-up has been together for twelve years, and we gel so well. It’s cool because we can play off each other like a live show with funky bass, groovy guitars, and creative drum patterns. It translates to the album.” On the single “Prince of Fire,” glimmering keys give way to a hard-hitting guitar riff as Danny’s slick vocals seesaw atop a punchy bass line.

“It’s actually one of the heaviest songs we’ve done, yet it’s got this super eighties mentality,” the front man reveals. “Lyrically, it’s about being perceived as the bad guy, even though you’re trying to do your best. You have good intentions, but sometimes you end up being the ‘Prince of Fire on night patrol’. Musically, it sways side-to-side, and then you’re crushed—which is a common theme for us.”

Then, there’s “The Lamenting.” Seventies-style sonics dissolve in a haze of riffs offset by swooning vocals and synths. Distortion drowns out the light in its final moments.

“You’re lamenting past loves and trying to let go and not wallow in those memories,” Danny elaborates. “There’s a bitter end that almost leaves you in the dark without pulling you out. It’s one of the most melancholic and sad songs on the album.”

Meanwhile, “Ultraviolet” layers a hypnotic refrain above chugging guitar as growls pierce the groove before a hummable solo.

“It’s about coping with the speed of modern society,” he states. “I like a fast-paced world, but it can be too much. You almost want to bury your head under your pillow and scream, ‘Slow down’. The expectations we have on each other as humans are just nuts. Sometimes, you need to become ultraviolet, duck under, and go, ‘No more for me, thanks’.”

The finale “Gren (Fearless In Love)” concludes the album with a climactic crescendo pushed even higher by resounding melodies and nimble instrumentation.

“When you’re in love, you have boundless energy and feelings for a person, which makes you almost invincible,” he elaborates. “There’s a huge vulnerability, because you’re not invincible at all. You’re totally susceptible to extreme hurt and letdown. There’s something beautiful about letting yourself go and fully experiencing being fearless though.”

In the end, a similar creative boundlessness drives Voyager.

“When you listen to Fearless In Love, I’d love for you to say, ‘I’ve never heard anything like this before’,” he leaves off. “Secondly, I hope you’re uplifted, intrigued, and emotional. We try take you on a journey through struggle, positivity, negativity, and a society that doesn’t always make sense. Maybe, listening to the record will make you feel better about dealing with this crazy modern world we’re living in.”

New Model Army Share Video for Orchestral Version Of "Innocence"

The orchestral version of "Innocence" is the first single from New Model Army's forthcoming new album Sinfonia. It's a stellar performance together with Sinfonia Leipzig of a long-loved song which has been originally released in 1990. This unique version sets the mood for what to expect from an album that enthralls from start to finish.

Watch the video below. Listen to the song here.

New Model Army are a band who continue to thrive outside of any singular genre. Throughout their long and storied career, they have taken the road less travelled, shunning fame and instead, with each successive album, pushing boundaries of creativity.

It is the same music-first approach that has led to this year’s Sinfonia. Recorded at Tempodrom, Berlin on July 15, 2022, with Sinfonia Leipzig and conducted by Cornelius During, it may seem like an obvious evolution. However, in true New Model Army style, they have broken the barriers between band and orchestra, redefining that relationship and defying expectation. All songs have been arranged for orchestra by long-time friend and guest violinist Shir-Ran Yinon, who, in collaboration with the band, created something unique but staying true to New Model Army.

The show opens with the fully orchestral "Overture," but from the initial notes of "Devil's Bargain" to the closing of "Wonderful Way To Go," it is a journey through vital and visceral music, elevating the songs with power and sensitivity and resulting in an album subverting the expectations of the well-trodden path between rock bands and orchestras. New Model Army's music lends itself perfectly to this fresh interpretation without losing its individuality. Experimentation without compromise is a hallmark of New Model Army, and one of the primary reasons they are respected and revered.

Sinfonia will become available as a Double-CD Hardcover Mediabook, Triple 180g-Vinyl Gatefold and Digital. All live album's first print CD and Vinyl LP Editions will include the full show on DVD.

A Strictly Limited earBOOK Edition with Double-CD, DVD, Blu-ray, 80- page book and an exclusive Bonus CD with eight songs from the band's "SO36" show in Berlin on July 17, 2022, as well as various bundles will become available via an exclusive direct to consumer web shop.

Return to Dust Release "The Black Road" EP & Drop New Video For "Losing Faith"

The Los Angeles-based grunge trio, Return to Dust, have today released their debut EP, "The Black Road" via Jim Kaufman Productions. Fans can listen the new release HERE.

The band are celebrating their recent TikTok success and the EP release with a brand new video for their latest single "Losing Faith". Fans can watch the brand new video, directed by Matt Akana, below.

After racking up over 2 million TikTok views within a weekend, see HERE, the band's fan base has skyrocketed. The TIkTok featuring the band's single, "Belly Up" swiftly impacted the band's trajectory - 500K+ streams, 70K Spotify Monthly Listeners, and you can now catch over 70,000 fans across all socials waiting for their next glimpse of Return to Dust.

Speaking on today's single release, co-vocalist Matty Joseph shares:

"Losing Faith is the dance track on the record. Given the obvious doom and gloom we thought the EP needed a pick-me-up sonically. It’s mostly about our ostracism from family as we got older and moved into the mostly lonely young-adulthood life."

Regarding their debut EP release, Matty continues:

"This EP encompasses a hugely dark era for the band; Anywhere from family death, friends turning their backs, and general doom given numerous instances of calamity and doubt. We hope this translates to people as the debut invitation into our world."

Return to Dust, who are heavily inspired by the legendary Alice In Chains, have already cultivated a reputation in the local Los Angeles music scene before the release of their debut EP, "The Black Road" produced by none other than Jim Kaufman (Everclear, Danny Worsnop, Night Riots, Helmet). With their remarkable cinematic approach, the rock trio are on track for an unforgettable year of touring and new music. Be sure to stay tuned for more Return to Dust news coming soon.

WHAT THE PRESS ARE SAYING:

"The band throws a new twist on 90s-sounding riffs bringing the listener back in time. The groovy guitar with dark themes in the lyrics holds over every song on the EP."

Keynote Music Collective

“Black Road” is a killer track. Everything hits hard. The vocals are fierce yet remain melodic. The guitars ring with fire while the monstrous bass line is brazenly defiant. In addition, it was produced by the illustrious Jim Kaufman (Anti-Flag/Helmet). “Black Road” is the perfect vehicle for Return to Dust to showcase their remarkable cinematic approach. This is a band with a stupendous future."

My Amp Music

"Meet Return to Dust, a heavy rock band with songs reminiscent of the grunge era with a modern twist."

Music Scene Media

Return to Dust have taken over listeners' Spotify Release Radar's and Discover Weekly's, all ahead of the release of their debut EP. The band have also been featured on Loudwire's Weekly Wire and Spotify's All New Rock, and independent playlists such as Prelude Press' "Music That Doesn't Suck", CHARM Music Magazine's "New Music Friday", NAS 101's "New Artist Spotlight", Get Rocked's "Best New Music", and more.

Southern California fans also have the chance to see Return to Dust at their upcoming EP Release Show, taking place at the legendary Viper Room on Wednesday, August 2nd.

Support comes from Seattle alt-rock stars Alex Vile, and closing sets from grunge/goth rock quartet Urns & Argyles and Oswald - the Los Angeles based band fronted by Anwar Hadid. Return to Dust will be headlining the night, with an unforgettable set at 8:30PM sharp.

Fans can purchase tickets in advance HERE.

Don't miss your chance to celebrate with the band for their EP Release Show, and finally hear the new songs live!

ABOUT RETURN TO DUST

Los Angeles based alternative/grunge rock trio Return to Dust (Matty Joseph, Graham Stanush, Sebastian Gonzalez) has already scripted a karmic saga that traverses decades, pays homage to the past, and plants its roots firmly in the future. Listening within their sonic universe is like time-traveling to the halcyon days of the '90s grunge era. Their sound, influenced by heavyweights of the time, reverberates with the echoes of Deftones, Alice In Chains, and the soul of Nirvana — but, their brilliance doesn't stop there. The band draws inspiration from a diverse palette, blending in bits from bands like The Cure, Metallica, and Cage The Elephant, molding them into their own unique musical tapestry.

Return to Dust breathes life into a sound that feels both genuine and tailor-made to encapsulate the essence of a bygone era, leaving fans awash in nostalgia. Yet, it's not merely a mimicry of the past; instead, it's a fusion of the old and the new — an alchemy that conjures a sound distinctly their own. At the core are alluring bass lines (Stanush), gritty guitar riffs (Gonzalez, Joseph) and dual lead vocals (Joseph, Stanush) that harmonize and intertwine, weaving an ethereal soundscape that resonates with raw emotion and unyielding energy. It's a moody concoction that pays homage to an iconic era while fearlessly exploring uncharted territories. Return to Dust beckons audiences into their world, where the past and present converge, igniting a fervor that keeps the flames of grunge alive.

Return to Dust found its meteoric rise propelled by a chance encounter with none other than the illustrious producer Jim Kaufman (Helmet, Everclear, Night Riots). Under Kaufman's mentorship, the band's raw talent began to soar. During the darkest days of the pandemic, when the world stood still, Return to Dust seized the opportunity to channel their collective energy into crafting something profound. The result was their debut EP, a mesmerizing creation titled ‘The Black Road.’ It was a labor of love and dedication that not only transcended the barriers of personal growth, but also etched the band's name into the future of rock.

“Throughout this wild journey, it was only through the undying support of our friends and fans across the world that we were able to traverse these monolithic milestones and for that, we are forever grateful. To have a dream is one thing, but to live it is something truly special and you have given that privilege to us.

“In the last ten years, we attempted to cover as much ground on tour as possible, but this last anniversary tour was rather brief as we began preparations for our new record Godlike. It was never about starting a band. It was just a few old friends getting together to play music for fun. They would meet once a week at a small house deep in the Oklahoma woods they called Ringo Manor. They played old songs, told stories and laughed a lot. Before too long they started writing songs and as the story goes, when you put a bunch of musicians in a room together...they started a band.

Hillbilly Vegas released their first song just a few months after their first jam session at Ringo Manor. A local DJ played that song during his air shift and then it got weird. A Nashville record executive was driving through the area at the very moment that local DJ was playing that first Hillbilly Vegas song. He called the station and just an hour later they were offered a record deal. That fast! Yes, the band is aware that happens to be one of the sub plots in the movie Wayne’s World but it happened. Just like that! Since that wild day the band has charted 5 country singles, along with 2 top 10 and 3 Billboard top 20 rock singles. HOLY CROSSOVER!

Hillbilly Vegas has headlined their own tours as well as a support act for a who’s who in the music world including; Blake Shelton, Travis Tritt, Alabama, Lee Brice, Blackstone Cherry, Wynonna, Kentucky Headhunters, Hellyeah, David Allen Coe, Joe Diffy, Granger Smith, Billy Currington, A Thousand Horses, Insane Clown Posse, Molly Hatchet and many more. NYC Prog Rockers FALL OF THE ALBATROSS Release New Single “Communion”

New Album ‘Rite’ Out August 18th

Album Release Show the Same Night

at Purgatory in Brooklyn, NY!

NYC-based prog metal up and comers FALL OF THE ALBATROSS have released a new single, titled “Communion”. The four-piece’s new song is the second single from their upcoming studio album, ‘Rite’, which will be released on August 18, 2023.

“Communion” strays into new territory when compared to its predecessor ("Seance"), blending thumping, prog-heavy syncopation with moments of stripped down, ambient production.

Speaking about their new single, Harold McCummings (guitar, keys) shares

"When we wrote 'Communion' we were all feeling restless (and anxious). The song represents that feeling of trying to sit still and eventually letting your energy go where it wants to."

Hailing from New York City, FALL OF THE ALBATROSS is a progressive metal group that both challenges and entertains listeners with unorthodox song structures, dizzying rhythms, and emotionally driven instrumental passages. Ranging from mathcore to jazz fusion, to ethereal post-rock, often in the same song, the four-piece weaves together a diverse array of musical influences that subverts the expectations of the listener.

With a combination of technical prowess, dance-friendly grooves, and an intense stage presence, FALL OF THE ALBATROSS presents a live show like no other.

With the arrival of 'Rite', the band's second full length album, FALL OF THE ALBATROSS continues to push the boundaries of progressive music while simultaneously creating an unforgettable listen for those less familiar with the sub-genre.

The band plans to bring the magic of 'Rite' to live audiences around the country this summer. The album release show will be August 18th at Purgatory in Brooklyn, NY.

FALL OF THE ALBATROSS are:

Harold McCummings – guitar, keys

Bryan Garcia – bass

Colin Ruhwedel – guitar

Mack Rourke – drums

The Contortionist Release Career-Defining Live Set Digitally

Stream/Get Here

(July 21, 2023) – Progressive rock band The Contortionist release their recent live box set, Retrospective: Live from Atlanta, today on all digital service providers. This definitive collection features 31 tracks of live audio recordings from the band’s 2021 live-stream performances.  The 3 live streamed performances cover every facet of the band’s career, including a full album performance of the critically acclaimed full-length Clairvoyant as well as an entire set focused on the band’s heavier catalog.

About the release, guitarist Cameron Maynard, says, “When we initially conceived this project, our objective was to give something to our fans amidst the inability to physically perform to a live audience. As it turns out, we were so happy with the end result that we thought it would only be appropriate to release in a more tangible way.”

Keyboardist Eric Guenther, adds, “This is the best representation of The Contortionist to date, and to us, the recording that defines the identity of this band and how we sounded in the first 10+ years.”

Earlier this year, the band released the collection as a limited edition, physical box set and released two videos taken from the live-stream performances, for tracks “Clairvoyant,” and “Geocentric Confusion.” Watch them below.

New Jersey's CR and The Nones presents 'The Long Game' and short light-hearted film, previewing second album

"Chris spins yarns like nobody else. His stories are poignant and relatable. Backing up those lyrics are waves of sonic bliss meticulously crafted" ~ The Family Reviews

"With a timbre similar to Elliot Smith and Christopher Cross, CR and The Nones has a huge and positive sound that recalls the best of 70s AM radio, as well as select output from certain 90s artists like Weezer and Better Than Ezra" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A unique sound that pieced together a variety of influences including punk, heartland rock, country, folk, and indie rock" ~ Tom Gallo (Look At My Records)

"This feels like a new chapter for C.R.’s song-writing, stepping out from his musical roots and shaping his sound into something entirely his own" ~ For The Rabbits

"Gennone channels Neil Young in the melancholy delivery of vocals that perfectly conveys the longing of trying to reach for the stars while knowing you may not even grab one" ~ You Don't Know Jersey

After signing to the Montclair, NJ-based
Magic Door Record Label, CR and The Nones are back with their latest single and accompanying light-spirited video for 'The Long Game', previewing their second album 'The Ghosts Are Coming Home'. The accompanying video was filmed and edited by Joe Evans III.

'The Ghosts Are Coming Home' is a culmination of the sound and aesthetic that guitarist and songwriter Chris Gennone (CR to his friends) has been building over many years and multiple bands. With an expansiveness and introspection that recalls The War on Drugs or early My Morning Jacket, the ten tracks here showcase an irresistible sincerity and heartfelt delivery.

Self-produced by Gennone, this album was mixed by renowned producer
Ray Ketchem (Guided By Voices, Luna, Versus, Elk City, Gramercy Arms) at Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, NJ and mastered by Nick Bolton at Bolton Sound in Jersey City.

CR Gennone came of age playing in a variety of different projects in suburban New Jersey, including his former band, CR and The Degenerates, who released five albums from 2016 to 2018. This new project has allowed him to expand the unique hybrid of folk, country, punk, and heartland rock. CR and The Nones retains the Degenerates' core of Chris Gennone, lead/slide guitarist Jim Abbott, and bassist John Dewitt.

'I wrote the lyrics for this song in the midst of a break up in the middle of Covid lockdowns and just after losing my job, so everything seemed pretty bleak. I felt defeated and was just kind of searching for something I could hold onto. My ex and I were driving down the turnpike and I was in the passenger seat watching the planes take off and all of the words came to me at once. I wrote the melody and chords pretty soon after," says CR Gennone.

"I did a lot of work on this song, first recording the drums with my friend Josh Bartsch from Pynkie and doing all of the vocals, harmonies, guitars and synths at my apartment. The original version was mixed by Jeff Zeigler in Philly, but I decided to scrap it and re-track everything with Tom Barrett on drums at Skylar’s studio in Wayne. Andrew recorded Jim’s guitar parts at his apartment and then I tracked everything else at my place."

Recalling past Garden State guitar music, Gennone’s soulful vocals and his band’s driving hooks invoke roads, journeys, and forward motion in general. Counting Neil Young and Jason Molina among major influences, his sound has always been propulsive. In 2020, CR and The Nones released their debut album
'Living In Fear' via Favorite Friend Records.

Like many artists, the pandemic and resulant huge chunks of unfilled time allowed Gennone to be more considered, thoughtful, and purposive in his songwriting for this album. Being forced out of his normal songwriting process and comfort zone opened Gennone to new influences, and his resulting growth as a songwriter is evident. While friends from the NYC and NJ music scenes contributed ideas and sounds, some influences are not as obvious. Gennone recalls listening to Brian Eno non-stop while recording 'Ghosts', and the synth sounds and ambient textures that underpin much of the album are certainly a testament to that.

'The Long Game' is out now and available from fine music platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music, and Bandcamp. 'The Ghosts Are Coming Home' album will be released on September 8 and is now available for pre-order.

SCAR SYMMETRY - Reveal Video For 'Xenotaph' From Latest Album The Singularity (Phase II - Xenotaph) Aol

SCAR SYMMETRY have revealed the video for 'Xenotaph', taken from their latest album, The Singularity (Phase II - Xenotaph). For 'Xenotaph', SCAR SYMMETRY enlisted the help of The Ultraterrestrial Choir - a 233-voice strong ensemble consisting of fans, friends, and family from all over the world; with each choir member multitracked the resulting recording consists of literally thousands of vocal tracks!

Guitarist Per Nilsson comments: "'Xenotaph' concludes Phase II in an open-ended way, leaving the listener on a bit of a cliffhanger musically as well as lyrically. We felt strongly that 'Xenotaph' deserved its own music video, to bring closure to this second part of our Singularity saga and showcase the song to the fullest, and put the spotlight on our amazing, crowd-sourced choir - it is definitely not the last time we will call upon our fans to sing with us!"

About SCAR SYMMETRY

Formed in Sweden in 2004, SCAR SYMMETRY were a unique proposition from the start. Although clearly owing a debt to the pioneering melodic death metal bands of the ‘90s, guitarist Per Nilsson and his comrades were walking their own evolutionary path. As showcased on their 2005 debut Symmetric In Design, the band were driven by fervently progressive and proudly melodic instincts, infusing their often brutal riffs and arrangements with wild, futuristic atmospherics, and sublime, emotional melodies that always hit their targets with ruthless precision.

As SCAR SYMMETRY moved forward, their music continued to evolve in tandem. They joined forces with Nuclear Blast Records for 2006’s breakthrough opus Pitch Black Progress (2006), and have since amassed an extraordinary catalogue of forward-thinking but irrevocably crushing modern metal. From the glossy, hyper-melodic barrage of Holographic Universe (2008), to the immaculate thunder of The Unseen Empire (2011) and the astonishing, cosmic odyssey that is The Singularity (Phase I - Neohumanity) (2014). the Swedes have blown minds and enhanced their reputation with every artistic step.

SCAR SYMMETRY is
Roberth Karlsson - Vocals
Lars Palmqvist - Vocals
Per Nilsson - Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards
Benjamin Ellis - Guitars
Henrik Olsson - Drums

Slighter presents‘The Futile Engine’ album via Brutal Resonance and video for 'Pulling Me Under' feat. Craig Joseph Huxtable

"A deep sound design that spans subterranean dubby techno and modern bass sounds... a subtle but totally unmistakable insistence, building intensity gradually and only releasing it as the song fades back into the shadows" ~ I Die: You Die

"When you hear Slighter, the room expands. The soundscapes Allrich creates are larger than life and the production is unquestionably smooth" ~ QRO Magazine

"Slick, motorik, infectious and polished... Fans of Meat Beat Manifesto, Fluke, Future Sound of London and Leftfield should take note here" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A creeping sludgy sex appeal... A hungry snarling club growl for your next playlist"~ Sounds and Shadows

Alternative-electronic artist
Slighter presents his new album 'This Futile Engine', released via Brutal Resonance Records and Confusion Inc. This 13-track record features collaborations with Steven Seibold (Hate Dept) and Craig Joseph Huxtable (Ohm, Landscape Body Machine, Front Line Assembly, Noise Unit), as well as Yvette Winkler (Vaselyne), Morgue VVitch and Deep Dark Water.

Following up the intense, moody and cinematic lead single
'Have No Fear' (with traditional A-side and B-side versions), Slighter also presents an enthralling video for the latest single ‘Pulling Me Under’ feat. Craig Joseph Huxtable, with whom he had previously collaborated on earlier singles 'Give Me' and 'Lights Out', as heard on FOX’s Second Chance in 2016.

Slighter is the solo moniker of Colin C., who has been fine-tuning the future of electronic music since kickstarting his music in Mid City Los Angeles in the early 2000s. Creating from a unique vantage point, he was involved in collaborations for various Metropolis Records releases and Cleopatra Records compilations, in addition to Slighter releases via his own Confusion Inc. imprint.

Mixed and mastered at
The Cell Studio, through the sonic experimentation and innovation entailed in recording this album, Slighter continues to provide new fuel for the counterculture..

"This record was a lot of fun to make with my friends. I'm always enjoying collaborating on Slighter albums and, this time, it felt best to leave the majority of the vocal work to some great voices from Craig to Steven and Tara, Yvette, and Anastasia. It has been an experimental but cohesive experience, the classic cinematic vibes I'm known for hitting with faster Techno and killer bass lines across a 10 track narrative," says Colin C.

"I think I have a pretty unique way of working outside of genres, but my work still gives off this sort of expansive cinematic vibe, which also retaining a darker mood that gets me associated with various dark sub-culture genres. The themes I often explore has me adopting an 'Electronic Death Music' umbrella for the music I make - a play on words, with the music I make being the antithesis of popular EDM".

While very much an independent artist who largely files under the musical radar, Slighter's music has also found its way on to mainstream shows over the years, with songs and remixes featured on such television shows as Showtime's 'House Of Lies', 'Elementary' (CBS), 'Bones' and 'Lethal Weapon' (FOX), 'Defiance' and 'Covert Affairs' (NBC-Universal).

As of July 21, 'This Futile Engine' will be released across fine digital platforms, including
Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. Available as a Deluxe Edition limited edition CD and as a digital download, this album includes three exclusive bonus remixes of 'Cold Black Waters (feat. Morgue VVitch)', 'Pulling Me Under' and 'Have No Fear'.

“We started working on this record in 2020 During the pandemic shutdown. I felt like we had to get outside of the box with this one. I’ve been sober almost 5 years now and there are many songs on this record that are a reflection of it. I just wanted to connect with the listener and pull them into what I was dealing with but also shed some light on overcoming personal adversity. With the passing of Wayne in March, I felt lost. Where do I go? I knew We had this record we were all stoked about. Waynes influence is all over these songs and in my opinion his playing on this album is next level. It’s the only right thing to do to honor him and all our hard work and release it. I just want to share with the world what we have worked on the last 3 plus years,”says Bobby Amaru.

Drowning Pool is reuniting with singer Ryan McCombs, this will mark their first tour back together.

"I’m excited as hell to be rocking out with Ryan McCombs back at the helm with us in Drowning Pool and touring together again with our brothers in Saliva! We hit it off as friends right out of the gate playing our first show together at WrestleMania 18 in 2002, and with Ryan on Ozzfest 2002. We’ve all had so many great festival shows and tours together throughout the years. Looking forward to sharing the stage once again with Saliva, having Ryan McCombs back with us in Drowning Pool, forever celebrating the memory of Dave Williams and Wayne Swinny, making new insane tour memories and kickass shows across the country. Can’t wait to perform and hang out with all of our friends and family at the rock shows! C’mon out and have a great time with us!" says Drowning Pool guitarist C.J. Pierce.

Ryan McCombs adds, "Drowning Pool and Saliva are two bands that not only have a rich history of their own but they’re two bands that have a great history of sharing the road together. This being my first extended run of dates back with my Drowning Pool family,I am horns-up and hells-to-the-yes that it’s also with Saliva! People that I respect as musicians and performing artists as well as real human beings that I consider friends.. Along with all that, having both Adelitas Way and Any Given Sin is a surefire recipe for a killer night, every night. From the first note to the last."

Adelitas Way will be releasing a full length album, and a new hard rock single “Dig Deep” at the start of this tour.

“We are ready to put on locked in, high energy performances for the fans, and excited to have fun on the road with our friends in Any Given sin, Saliva, and Drowning pool, this is going to be great!” says Rick Dejesus, vocalist of Adelitas Way.

Max Cavalera states, "I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the creation of SEPULTURA with my brother Iggor than to have these re-recordings be released in the 40th anniversary year, 2023!!!"

Iggor Cavalera
comments, "Sonically and visually, I am 100% proud of what we’ve achieved to bring the true essence of Bestial devastation and Morbid visions to everyone. It was a matter of honor to make sure these two records sound as powerful as possible to our devoted fans and ourselves."

Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation were re-recorded at The Platinum Underground. The albums were produced by Max Cavalera and Iggor Cavalera while John Aquilino handled the engineering. Arthur Rizk was responsible for the mixing and mastering of both albums. CAVALERA enlisted Eliran Kantor to create the artwork for both albums.

Max Cavalera
comments, “As we get harder year after year, sometimes you’ve got to go back to where it all started! We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with the amazing sound of NOW, but with its raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we’re living in right now…. Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from those days, remembered by heart.”

Voyager's new album 'Fearless in Love' out now

You've probably noticed, but VOYAGER are on quite a ride. The band started this year with a Top Ten finish at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, thanks to their keytar-charged power ballad "Promise". Back home, they were treated to a hero's welcome with a sold-out summer tour of Australia. Earlier this week, they released "Ultraviolet", which highlighted a darker, more introspective side to to their electro progressive metal.

Now, Voyager are capping off a surreal first half to 2023 with the highly-anticipated 'Fearless in Love'. It's the band's eighth studio album. Daniel "Danny" Estrin (vocals/keyboards), Simone Dow (guitars), Scott Kay (guitars), Alex Canion (bass) and Ashley Doodkorte (drums) have been making music together for more than a decade. And while they've evolved with each release - mixing brightly colored synths, heavy metal riffs, progressively groovier rhythms and clean 'n' sticky vocal melodies into big, sugary, radio rocking hits - clearly, with this album, Voyager are bound for the stars.

Angry Metal Guy
said that Voyager are "more colorful than ever" and that 'Fearless in Love' is "the most successful harmonization of their progressive, poppy, metallic sensibilities'. Distorted Sound singled out "Daydream" for its twin solos that are "straight out of Iron Maiden's books of tricks", while Ghost Cult likened "Submarine" to "Duran Duran playing beach volleyball with The Devin Townsend Project".

Voyager are celebrating the release of 'Fearless in Love' with a special full album playlist. Listen to that playlist
HERE and please share it with your followers.

Here's what Voyager have to say about the journey of 'Fearless in Love': "After many years of writing, demoing, isolating, perfecting and recording, we are proud to present our 8th album in full, Fearless in Love. We are so proud of this album. It comes at a transformational time in our lives, and the music reflects that feeling perfectly. We have so many people to thank throughout the last four or so years for what we now.

Thank you to Matt Templeman and Simon Struthers for the immaculate mix and master respectively.

Thank you to Lulu, John and Anahita, for their tireless work to make this release a success.

Thank you Ashley for the amazing artwork.

Thank you to Michael and Season of Mist, and to everyone who forms a part of our immediate and wider team (there are too many to add but you know who you are!).

And last but not least, thank you for everyone who has or will listen to Fearless in Love, either now or in years to come. We love making music for you, and for us, and we hope you enjoy this new 45 minute journey as much as we enjoyed making it."

TesseracT Announce New Album "War Of Being" + Share Video For Title Track — WATCH⚔️

Five years since the release of Sonder, TesseracT have returned with their new album War Of Being, out September 15 via Kscope. The Dream has crash landed and 'ex' and 'el' awaken to find themselves in "The Strangeland," facing a foe known simply as "Fear," the two are separated and so begins the journey of War Of Being…

The album opens with the reverie shattering "Natural Disaster," followed by the pendulum swing of "Legion." That slingshots us into the herculean title track — the album's 11-minute centerpiece that undulates with precision and power. When coupled with the beguiling melodies of "The Grey," or the unshielded honesty of "Burden," the band delivers its most impassioned release to date — an album to excite and inspire. Acle Kahney, Daniel Tompkins, Amos Williams, Jay Postones, and James Monteith truly have crafted a phenomenal set of immersive, absorbing sounds.

TesseracT bassist Amos Williams states, "War Of Being has been all-encompassing for us since late 2019.  After I returned home from filming
P O R T A L S, I found myself in such a deeply introspective headspace. The scale of work and reward from that project kind of set this up to be inevitable. We simply had to try and see how far we could take a concept album with TesseracT.

"Within these songs the band has given life to the themes and ideas that are personified within the characters of The Strangeland story. It's certainly been a catharsis and a way for me to explore the internal dissonance."

"War Of Being," the first single to be released from the album of the same name, is an eleven-minute visual extravaganza and provides the perfect prologue for the album's aurally and visually immersive story. Written and Directed by Found Format with second unit director Richard Oakes/Dark Fable Media (Sleep Token), the feature-length video proves that TesseracT remain not only pioneers but innovators in a movement of their own making. Be sure to wait until the very end of the clip for the next piece of the puzzle to be revealed…

Regarding the track, Daniel Tompkins says, "'War Of Being' is a fight for acceptance, a battle of existence and a resistance against ego. It's a struggle for control as we cut through the white noise of reality. It's the need to know and identify with oneself, to accept and understand what we stand for and who we are. There is an urgent need to 'Tear the mask away,' and reveal your true self."

Leaders not followers, TesseracT exist in a sphere of their own with ambition positively written into the band's DNA and War Of Being is no different.

War Of Being was recorded at Middle Farm Studios in the United Kingdom with Peter Miles (Architects/Sylosis/Dodie) co-producing with the band alongside Katherine Marsh of Choir Noir (Bring Me The Horizon/Architects/Marillion). Assisting with additional programming and production, the band were joined by Randy Slaugh (Periphery, Architects, Devin Townsend). With additional engineering by Forrester Savell (Karnivool). The artwork, which features characters 'ex' and 'el' was created in collaboration between AI and human as a means to extend the concept into its presentation.

The album will be available in a variety of formats that include the following:

CROWN MAGNETAR - New Album 'Everything Bleeds' out now; Release New Single & Music Video 'Nail Funeral'

Colorado's finest purveyors of brutal and unrelenting tech deathcore, Crown Magnetar have dropped their extraordinarily heavy new album, 'Everything Bleeds', out now via Unique Leader Records. Listen to the albumHERE.

To celebrate the release of the album, the band have also released the video for new single, "Nail Funeral".                        Watch the video below.

In a statement about the release of the new album, the band share,

“We are ecstatic about the reception we’ve been receiving for this new album. Here’s hoping we can reach an even greater audience with a modern Deathcore sound while appealing to OG fans. Life and music moves in cycles and this genre is, in our opinion, undergoing a massive resurgence. We hope to leave our mark on it here.”

Crown Magnetar are one of the most brutal and technical bands in the modern deathcore scene today. With a unique combination of tech, core and death elements, as with their previous releases, Crown Magnetar truly set the stage for the 'Everything Bleeds' prior to it's release previous singles "The Level Beneath", album title track, "Everything Bleeds" and "Prismatic Tomb". The album is even more vicious and carnal than anything that has come before with New Transcendence stating "In short, Everything Bleeds is nothing short of phenomenal and is one of few must-listen records in 2023." in their 10/10 album review, Ghost Cult Magazine boldly stating "Crown Magnetar does deathcore the right way." and Wall of Sound claiming "Everything Bleeds is a must listen for those who want their brutal deathcore uncompromising and completely devastating"

Speaking on the upcoming album, the band share

"Everything Bleeds is easily our best work. We put everything we had into this release. 10 hate filled, punching you in the face tech deathcore tracks. We dove deep into making the album more dynamic but still keeping our signature sound. This record has more of everything we’re known for and then some."

'Everything Bleeds' is available now HERE with a host of exclusive vinyl variants and must-have merch items for any self-respecting Crown Magnetar fan.
