UK indie pop outfit Jody and the Jerms present their full-length album 'Wonder', released via JATJ Records and arriving on a wave of rave reviews and airplay for lead tracks 'Started Something' and 'Insatiable'.

Their third album to date, this new collection of 12 tracks was produced, mixed and mastered by RIDE frontman Mark Gardener at his OX4 Sound Studio in Oxfordshire. Loaded with a healthy dose of melodic chrystallised indie pop that is heartfelt and honest, they present endearing jangle-pop songs that are both evocative and relatable.

"We recorded the guitars and drums with Mark Gardener at his OX4 Sound Studio almost as an afterthought following a long day of recording tracks for the 'Wonder' album. We were about to call it a day, but we just kinda let rip with the guitar riff and a real nice and simple rock drum beat. But it wasn’t until Jody set the song’s direction with the lyrics that we know we had a really good single," says Niall Jeger.

Championed by the late Janice Long at BBC, among others, Jody and the Jerms is a collective revolving around Jody Jeger (vocals) and Niall Jeger (guitars and vocals) with other band members coming from The Anydays, who have graced the pages of NME, played with Radiohead and Supergrass, and were featured on Mark Radcliffe at BBC Radio 2.

'Wonder' follows their ‘Flicker’ album (2022) and debut album 'Deeper' (2020). Here, the Jerms deliver 12 jangle-pop gems, crafted with a sanguine innocence and vivid relatability. Warmly nostalgic and graced by Jody’s sweet-natured vocal, the band's output radiates somewhere between The Go-Go's, Blondie, The Bangles and The Darling Buds.

Formed in Oxford in 2019, Jody and the Jerms have been writing, recording and performing their blend of melodic and uplifting indie/ alt rock ever since, having enjoyed national airtime on Radio X (UK), Sirius XM (USA) and RTVE (Spain), as well as BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, BBC Wales and BBC Ulster.

Through Fire Release New Album 'Devil's Got You Dreamin' via Sumerian Records + Unleash New Music Video For "The Road"

Release day is upon us, and Through Fire has unleashed their new album 'Devil's Got You Dreamin' (out via Sumerian Records). In celebration of today's news, the band has released a new single and music video for their track "The Road" from the new full-length release. Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, guitarist Justin McCain shared:

"The hardest thing about being on the road is missing my family. I wrote this whole song on the way to the studio thinking about them, thinking about touring, thinking about home."

Leading up to today, Through Fire has released music videos and visualizers for "Karma Kills", "Lose It", "Devolution", and "Over The Influence" which have altogether amassed nearly 1.1 million views on YouTube. Brantley Gilbert Delivers SO HELP ME GOD (DELUXE EDITION)

Toronto-London collective The Flowers Of Hell will release the first vinyl pressing of their cult classic ‘Odes’ album on April 22nd for Record Store Day UK. With a deluxe die-cut sleeve, this 180-gram red coloured pressing will be released via Space Age Recordings (known for its tightly curated roster with releases from Spacemen 3, Spectrum, The Telescopes, Acid Mothers Temple and The Silver Apples).

Lou Reed began the final episode of his BBC6 / Sirius-XM New York Shuffle radio show in 2012 premiering three tracks from this covers album, declaring the release to be “An amazing, amazing album” and praising it as, “So beautiful and great” and “Exquisite”, amongst other compliments shared.

The Flowers Of Hell mastermind Greg Jarvis notes, “Lou Reed’s praise meant more to us than a Grammy ever would," says "It also meant all the time I spent in my youth smoking weed while listening to The Velvet Underground wasn’t a waste – it was research!”

Paying tribute to some of their favourite artists through orchestral-pop covers of BobDylan, Klaatu, Stereolab, Laurie Anderson, The Velvet Underground, Siouxsie & the Banshees and Neutral Milk Hotel, this album features appearances from Sea Power’s Neil ‘Hamilton’ Wilkinson and Abi Fry (Bat For Lashes, Sea Power), Prague underground legend Ivo Pospíšil and the Plastic People Of The Universe. Recorded in Toronto, 'Odes' was co-produced by the band & Grammy winning engineer Peter J. Moore (Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Joe Strummer), who returned to remastered it for vinyl.

The band has also shared videos for their renditions of Joy Division’s 'Atmosphere' and 'Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft', made famous by Toronto prog-rock group Klaatu (who were, at that time, thought to be The Beatles working under a pseudonym) and later on, The Carpenters. Penned in the early 1970s, this song was inspired by the 1950s International Flying Saucer Society effort to unite their members across the planet with a time and date to telekinetically communicate a specific message to alien lifeforms beyond Earth in hopes they might pick up on this. ‘Calling Occupants’ is now the official anthem of World Contact Day.

The Flower of Hell frontman Greg Jarvis says, “When a 1950s global flying saucer society gets people to telepath a message into outer space and a mysterious ‘70s Toronto prog band turns that message into a tune that a spiraling-out pop act transforms into a 7-minute hit, how could we not try it for our covers album? It’s musically an incredibly complex song to do and so when Lou Reed spun our version on his radio show, it was like getting an A++ in music class.”

Since starting in London in 2005, playing Sonic Cathedral and AC30 club, The Flowers Of Hell have traversed the experimental edges of indie and orchestral music with works often rooted in the audio-visual synesthesia of Greg Jarvis. Despite relative obscurity, they’ve also been championed by Spacemen 3’s Pete Kember a.k.a. Sonic Boom, My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields and members of The Legendary Pink Dots, Death In Vegas, The Wedding Present, The Fugsand The Plastic People Of The Universe, not to mention support from NASA’s mission control team and the Tate Gallery.

On May 12th, the group also releases their sixth studio album and their first in six years. 'Keshakhtaran' is a 42-minute psilocybin meditation piece in two parts, involving 20 artists, including Rishi Dhir (Elephant Stone, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, Beck) and avant-accordion legend Angel Corpus Christi (Suicide, Spiritualized, Dean Wareham). The advance taster single ‘Foray Through Keshakhtaran’ is out now, across digital platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

Following Record Store Day UK, 'Odes' will be available on import in international shops two weeks later, on Friday, May 5th.

For Smith, the making of High & Low represented a metamorphosis. Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream presents 'Driveaway', a track that truly spells what A Shoreline Dream is all about. A song meant to drive to. A song that flows and wants to be put on repeat. Full of sea drenched layers and huge expanses.

Filmed in Barnum and Central City, Colorado, Jessica Halpine stars in this dark journey of a video, which was filmed, directed and edited by Ryan Policky with costumes by Tiffany Smyth and Jessica Halpine.

This is the latest audio-visual offering from their sixth full-length album 'Loveblind' album, released via Latenight Weeknight Records, which dives into recollections and past desires while looking forward in a wash of soundwaves towards a blinding future. With 40 minutes of goth-laced progressive soundscapes, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals.

Having changed lineups over the years, A Shoreline Dream since forming in 2005, today ASD revolves around multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries. Their legacy became even more lush owing to collaborations with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers. The band also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

"After many months of pushing ourselves through the pandemic, we came up with this early on in the exploration of the 'Loveblind' album. The visual concept is based on a lot of what has been happening to people just going about their normal everyday lives, only to be now forcefully expelled from feeling any sense of freedom. Now that many are getting back to our pre-pandemic lives, we’re finding ourselves in an entirely new situation. A situation where lines are constantly crossed, art is overly scrutinized, and people are at each others throats trying to separate themselves to try and reset their entire existence. Computers and technology advances are faster than we can control, and our realities are being changed at every moment by a whole new way of living. Some are giving up," says Ryan Policky.

"Some are using it as a way to escape. Others are just moving into a hibernation state. In the video this is entirely the case. A person expelled by an unknown force. Something that is part artificial, and mostly real. A state of dreamy and a state of confusion. We follow along as it all blends together in a place from distant past. A place where we all find ourselves eventually."

The pandemic has taken its toll on our mental well-being and the perception of money and power has blown previous years away. Dying to get back to the good times and moments of pure, unscathed lust, we long for new experiences to sweep us off our feet. 'Loveblind' reaches for that same energy, taking cues from previous A Shoreline Dream works, drawing from their progressive goth roots. Layers of moodiness, blissful explosions of rock and chugging tempo mix with the pain, love, hope and moments of near death experienced while creating the album itself.

"The video was shot on location in Barnum, Colorado, involving one of my favorite treks up in the mountains - the Central City Graveyard on the far end of town, hidden at the top of a mountain, buried in layers of trees with nonstop exploration. I utilized a bit of machine learning techniques to bring that element of out-of-control computer advancements, while merging in the lore of witches being cast away in the wardrobe stylings by Artsmyths, Inc., who helped pull together the style for our recent 'Loveblind' and 'Harlow Syndrome' videos," says Ryan Policky.

The 'Loveblind' LP is out now digitally, available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The band have already started working on new material, and expect to be able to make an announcement about this soon.

Wyoming native Ian Munsick is spreading the Rocky Mountain gospel with the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album White Buffalo, out now (stream / purchase HERE). With 18 tracks that all credit Munsick as a co-writer and co-producer, White Buffalo is an ode to his homeland and serves as a raw, untamed depiction of the American West.

Fans joined the high-energy entertainer in downtown Nashville last night for a pop-up show and live stream at Ole Red in partnership with Circle. BRODEQUIN Re-Issues All Three Full-Lengths via Season of Mist

Brutal death metal outfit BRODEQUIN will be reissuing all three of its full-length records on LP and CD format via Season of Mist! The trilogy of ‘Instruments of Torture’ (2000), ‘Festival of Death’ (2001), and ‘Methods of Execution’ (2004) is a cohesive collection of the relentless, neck breaking brutality that define the Tennessean’s vicious sound. All three albums will be released on May 26, 2023 and can now be pre-ordered HERE.

In the meantime, "Methods of Execution" (2004), "Festival of Death" (2001), and "Instruments of Torture" (2000) are now streaming on all digital platforms!

BRODEQUIN will be performing as part of the Gored in the Heart of Texasfestival, which will take place during the weekend of September 21-23 in Haltom City, TX! The band has also be confirmed for the 2024 edition of Maryland Deathfest! The itinerary can be found below!

The Brodequin was a French torture instrument used during the Middle Ages designed to destroy the legs of its victims. Enough ferocity was unleashed to not only shatter bone, but reduce the limbs to the point where the marrow would flow from the wounds.

Taking inspiration from this period in history three individuals from Knoxville, TN began composing music based off what was the most brutal of times. Brodequin chose and still uses period woodcuts and simple imagery from the era as a nod to its historical influence and as a way to demonstrate barbarity without the need for generic splatter illustrations that lack substance. This imagery would prove an important aspect of creating the bands unique brand among their peers and Brodequin’s version of brutal death metal. Brodequin is often cited as the band that pioneered the lyrical and visual themes of medieval punishment and torture used by many contemporary bands.

Brodequin’s first offering in 1998 “Instruments of Torture” made an immediate impact on the brutal death metal scene and was followed by another well received album entitled “Festival of Death”. For Brodequin’s third album “Methods of Execution” a new member (Jon Engman) was introduced and their first European appearances took place at Fuck the Commerce (Germany) and Obscene Extreme (Czech Republic).

After a considerable hiatus Brodequin returned with a 2 song promo released in 2021 entitled “Perpetuation of Suffering”, featuring two of the three original members (Jamie & Mike Bailey) with a new drummer (Brennan Shackelford). With the lineup complete, Brodequin’s new material is among the best they have ever written. Plans are set for a 2023 release through Season of Mist Records.

Punk Rock Factory Unleash New Album 'It's Just A Stage We're Going Through' + Drop New Music Video For "Mamma Mia"

Irresistible pop-punk rascals PUNK ROCK FACTORY are celebrating the release of their new album by sharing a brand new single and video. Made world famous by pop icons ABBA when their now classic single shot to #1 in multiple countries in 1974, 'Mamma Mia' also became the title track of the smash-hit musical that launched in 1999.

PRF's reimagined version of 'Mamma Mia' - streaming here - is just one of 11 high-octane, certified bangers on their rabidly anticipated new album, It's Just A Stage We're Going Through, out today.

Having reworked the song, PUNK ROCK FACTORY have paid faithful homage to ABBA's original video for the track - recreating it frame by frame, right down to the white boots and hair styles. The band elaborate:

"We were already aware of the accompanying iconic video that the original song had. So we thought how absolutely hilarious it would be if we could recreate that video shot for shot. We love having fun with our videos, and we love any excuse to make idiots of ourselves so this was right up our street.

We got to work on trying to match the outfits as much as we possibly could (it’s not easy finding size 12 knee high boots)! We painstakingly looked for every element of each of the outfits and anything else you see in the video and we synced the original video to our track so we could learn our parts and make sure every little nuance was copied.

We shot the video at Band Studios in Bristol with our good friend Jay Hillyer after a very long drive back from our sold out show in Glasgow the previous day. We had the original video on a screen in front of us to make sure we could copy every part of the video as closely as we possibly could, and then spent most of the day in fits of tears laughing back at takes.

Mamma Mia is definitely one of our favourites from our new musicals themed album. We think it came out great and this has to be one of the most ridiculous videos we’ve ever had the pleasure of working on. We hope everyone finds it as funny as we did. Our hope is we can get it in front of ABBA, and hope they find it as funny!!"

Progressive rock trio POH HOCK have released their new EP, ‘Gallimaufry’, which is out today on the group’s Bandcamp and all major streaming platforms.

The new record features the singles “Fragile Space” and “I Don’t”, and is the follow up to the project’s 2019 debut ‘Ātma’.

Commenting on the release of the new EP, POH HOCK shares:

“The dictionary definition [for Gallimaufry] is ‘a confused jumble or medley of things’. This EP is a collection of songs mixed with many different genres, and the title perfectly sums up the soundscape of the record. It is less guitar-centric and more focused on experimentation with songwriting, as well as a learning experience on different writing styles. This was also a more collaborative effort between Joey, Zak and I compared to my first EP, ‘Atma’. There are also guest musicians on every track, and it was fun working with all of them!”

Trans-Atlantic alternative neo-folk collective Lusitanian Ghosts present 'The Long Train', engineered and mixed by SEBASTIAN MUXFELDT (Elbow, Peter Doherty, Teenage Fanclub) at Clouds Hill Studios in Hamburg.

This is the first single from the band's forthcoming 'Lusitanian Ghosts III' album, due out later this year via European Phonographic. The Ghosts offer a brilliant taste of the sonic prism through which they present ancient sounds in the 21st Century.

Lusitanian Ghosts is a Portuguese-Canadian-Swedish project that resurrects lost Portuguese chordophones and other European string instruments, promoting ancient sounds in the 21st century. Re-casting these heritage folk violas into rock n roll songs, the European artist collective writes from a socio-political perspective on building a better world, creating songs for the heart and mind, recording on analogue tape and releasing moving music on vinyl.

Founded by Neil Leyton and Micke Ghost, the collective is currently made up of João Sousa, Abel Beja (from Primitive Reason), ToZé Bexiga (from Raia) and Jan-Eric Olsson, performing on traditional Portuguese chordophone instruments, ancient regional guitars like the Amarantina, Beiroa, Campaniça, Braguesa, Toeira and Terceirense. These instruments, once on the verge of extinction, are the real "Lusitanian Ghosts" - Lusitania being an ancient Celtic tribe in what would become the central territory of Portugal.

“The Long Train is a song celebrating freedom, celebrating life, celebrating the act of setting yourself free so that you may reach that transcendental level of commitment that only comes with true love.” Confusing? “Oh, and it’s also about storks!” says Neil Leyton.

Micke Ghost adds, "'The Long Train' is a commentary on the state of the world today but with a bit of hope... like the New York Dolls took their electric guitars to the pawn shop. With a bit of plastic soul. .Written in Setubal, Portugal, this was recorded and mixed on analogue tape at Clouds Hill in Germany."

Recorded and mixed on analogue tape, this song features the violas Amarantina, Campaniça and Terceira in glorious mono and stereo versions, bringing a new vintage chordophone rock n roll sound from the Ghosts. It was tracked on a Studer A820 2″ analogue tape machine, mixed down to 1/4 inch tape on the AEG Magnetophon 15 A, including both stereo and mono mixes.

From a deep love of rock n roll rooted in strong vocal traditions from Elvis Presley to David Bowie, Neil Leyton and Micke Ghost craft folk-rock songs that will appeal to fans of The Waterboys, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and newer alt-folk-rock experimental crossings of rock n roll with other genres and traditions, like XIXA.

Lusitanian Ghosts' sophomore album 'Exotic Quixotic' was released with a Deluxe Edition featuring bonus tracks, adaptations of the title track into Portuguese and Polish, feat. Joana Negrão (A Cantadeira) and Misia Furtak.

As of March 31, 'The Long Train' LP will be available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music, and directly from the aritist via Bandcamp.

Aurora Dream Releases Debut Full-Length Album 'RUBIX' to all major platforms!

Miami-based instrumental prog and math rock project Aurora Dream founded by 26-year-old Venezuelan guitarist Daniel Morales has released their highly anticipated first full-length album titled RUBIX. This album is the follow-up to their latest single and music video "Comfy," which features the well-known Japanese guitarist Ichika Nito.

Prior to the release of "Comfy," Aurora Dream also put out a remixed and remastered version of "Parallel Colors" from 2016, this time featuring Chris Allisonon drums, and also the single "A New Infinite" that features well-known Australian guitarist Plini, along with his bassist Simon Grove.

RUBIX was produced by Randy Slaugh, who provided a lot more dynamics to the record with his modern production techniques and layers that enhanced the listening experience with creative genre fusions. The album was also co-produced by keyboardist and synth player Eric Guenther from "The Contortionist," who teamed up with Randy and added his psychedelic, progressive, and ethereal sounds that added a lot more dimension to the album, creating a truly immersive experience.

Well-known Australian drummer Chris Allison from Plini performed drums on RUBIX, giving the record a lot more energy through his performance. Mangus Steedperformed bass on the album, providing his unique bass lines, riffs, and phrases that complemented Chris' drums amazingly. Simon Grove mixed RUBIX, while well-known Venezuelan engineer Moises D' Bello mastered it.

RUBIX features some of the best guitar players in the modern scene, including Tim Henson (Polyphia), Nick Johnston, Javier Reyes (Animals as Leaders), Sithu Aye, Angel Vivaldi, Ichika Nito, Mark Holcomb (Periphery), Felix Martin, and Josh Martin (Little Tybee). Additionally, this album features a harp section by Gabriela Gutierrez (Hardcore Harp) on the track titled “Same Opposites.”

The album is truly a masterpiece and a monument for instrumental guitar music because it delivers a profoundly unique listening experience that showcases many interesting genre fusions with prog rock and math rock, combined with modern production that adds more personality to the record and makes it stand out from the rest. The features also add a lot to the experience, not only giving each track a different twist that is unique to each player but also creating one of the biggest album guitar crossovers we have seen yet.

The production layers of RUBIX are inspired by many different genres, including pop, psychedelic rock, lo-fi, synthwave, post-rock, emo, and experimental music. Aurora Dream and Daniel Morales continue to innovate and push the boundaries of guitar music with their unique sound that fuses many different styles and creates a very fun experience that showcases Daniel's talent with his guitar tapping, complex riffs, strange time signature changes, and melodic writing that add on to the experience, making it a roller coaster of emotions across the entire record.

“I started writing 'RUBIX' in early 2019 as a way to escape a very long depression that I was struggling with since the end of 2018. This was also around the time I wrote the song 'Doggy' as a memorial to my dog who had passed away due to cancer in early 2019. Playing guitar in my room helped me a lot, just like performing small shows at local venues, open mics, and bars around Miami and Wynwood. I never imagined that something that started as a simple bedroom produced album that was purely meant to be shared with my close friends and family would later turn into something much bigger after connecting with many talented people that shaped my artistic vision and helped me take it to another level through collaborations and other creative efforts," says Daniel.

He adds, "Despite all the collaborations and collective ideas, this record feels very personal to me because it embodies all of the emotions I experienced during some of my saddest and happiest times in the past four years. Just like a Rubik's cube, I was able to reshape my life into something much brighter that gives me purpose, belonging, and true fulfillment that aligns with who I am, not just as an artist, but also as a person. Daniel Morales, also known as “Duniel”, is a Venezuelan-American independent guitarist, entrepreneur, and composer. He is best known as the founder of the instrumental project Aurora Dream, and also releases music under his own name where he explores his creative ideas and continues to expand the boundaries of guitar music. Daniel composes, plays guitar, records, and manages his unique brand of instrumental progressive music, all from his bedroom studio. Born in Mérida, Venezuela, on September 11th, 1996, Daniel is considered to be one of the most successful and influential guitarists from his home country. His inspirations revolve around progressive rock, metal, emo, math rock, pop, and experimental music.

FEAR FACTORY - Announce Mechanize + Re-Industrialized Reissues + Release Lyric Video for "New Messiah"

Industrial metal pioneers FEAR FACTORY have solidified their importance and have become champions of the Metal community. Today, the band is proud to announce that Re-Industrialized and Mechanize will be available as re-issues on June 23rd via Nuclear Blast Records.

Trigger Point formed in Los Angeles in the early 2000s, and independently released their debut album A SILENT PROTEST, produced and mixed by Logan Mader (Five finger death punch, Machine Head), in 2003, before signing to Corporate Punishment Records who re-released it Worldwide in 2005. The album quickly garnered (inter) national attention, as the band toured nationally through the 2000s, sharing stages with the likes of 36 Crazyfists, Shenoah, Hatebreed, Motorhead, Meshuggah, Otep, Devil Driver, and more, with fans drawn to their fresh mix of thrashy, screamo-tinged, melodic hard rock, that, while keeping up, diverged from the dominant nu-metal of the day.

A Silent Protest became an underground favorite, and in 2007 the band entered the studio with Producer Shaun Lopez (Crosses, Far, Deftones), to record their critically acclaimed follow-up Giving up the Ghost, but unable to secure a new label partner after the demise of the band’s label, Corporate Punishment Records, Trigger Point went on an indefinite hiatus.

In 2014, the band once-again partnered with Corporate Punishment’s Thom Hazaert, and independently released Giving Up The Ghost, debuting with a full album premiere on REVOLVER MAGAZINE, (who also premiered the track “Letters To The Living”, and the video for “Cabin Song”), and brought the band international attention once again.

Released before the advent of the streaming era, A Silent Protest has been noticeably absent from modern streaming services for the last 2 decades. Now the band has secured the rights to the recordings and answered the demands of fans around the world to finally bring this lost cult-classic album back to the masses. Trigger Point has also re-released the fan favorite “Picking up the Pieces” as a new single, as well as a new video (Directed by Rob Montague) consisting of archive tour and studio footage.

"'Picking up the Pieces' is one of the most meaningful songs on the album. It speaks of someone who despite being hurt and knocked down over and over again, they are still willing to pick themselves up and keep going. It was deeply personal to me then and still rings true now. Releasing this album has been a long time in the making and it’s great to give the fans what they have been asking for all these years," says Taylor Wallace, the band's vocalist.
