MÈLANCOLIA - ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM 'RANDOM.ACCESS.MISERY' + SHARE DARK NEW SINGLE 'ALL_IS_RUST'

Melbourne blackened nu-metal outfit MÉLANCOLIA announce their sophomore album random.access.misery will be available Friday August 29 via Nuclear Blast and Greyscale Records. The band share scathing new single 'ALL_IS_RUST' as a vicious taste of what's to come.

'ALL_IS_RUST' serves as both a declaration of evolution and a warning: MÉLANCOLIA are not here to follow trends—they’re here to dismantle them. The new single is the introduction to MÉLANCOLIA’s forthcoming album, blending metalcore, deathcore, industrial noise, blast beats and DJ scratching into a hellish sonic cocktail. The song welcomes listeners to their new sound and a genre the band have coined as “Blackened Nu Metal”.

'ALL_IS_RUST' marries the sound, aesthetic and visuals from their debut album,'HissThroughRottenTeeth', into one cohesive package; "While there has been a departure from straight up deathcore, we feel this song sounds even more representative of MÉLANCOLIA," says vocalist Alex Hill"And after testing the waters debuting this song in Europe earlier this year we can confirm this one is already a crowd favourite."

Picked as one of four "brilliant new metal bands you need to hear" by Metal Hammer in April, the band are primed and ready and unleash their defining new album this August; "We are bringing a fresh sound to an otherwise stale scene, you will not hear what we are doing from anyone else. We are setting the trend as we set the bar for modern heavy music. Love us or hate us, you will fucking remember us."

Momentum is at an all time high for the band, having toured Australia three times over off the back of HissThroughRottenTeethand breaking into Europe and the UK twice on tours with SUFFOCATION (US) and INGESTED (UK). The band will join THY ART IS MURDER on a regional lap of Australia this June and July and will debut some of their new music for the very first time.

After establishing themselves in 2022 with their debut single 'Horror_Ethereal', the band announced the following February their signing to both Greyscale Records for Australia/New Zealand and Nuclear Blast for the rest of the world. They released their debut album HissThroughRottenTeeth April 2023, crafting a unique sound that has already catapulted them to new heights. Their very first show was in 2023 supporting THY ART IS MURDER on their Decade Of Hate Australian Tour alongside STARVE and JUSTICE FOR THE DAMNED. Since this they’ve toured with TO THE GRAVE, FALLUJAH (US), CATTLE DECAPITATION (US), INGESTED (UK), VULVODYNIA (SA), SUFFOCATION (US) and many more.

MORS PRINCIPIUM EST To Release 9th Studio Album, 'Darkness Invisible,' Through PERCEPTION

Finnish melodic death stalwarts MORS PRINCIPIUM EST announce their long-awaited ninth studio album, Darkness Invisible. Officially signed to PERCEPTION, the latest imprint of Reigning Phoenix Music, the band will once again embrace listeners with razor-sharp riffing, sweeping orchestration, melancholic harmonies, and relentless rhythmic precision - topped by Ville Viljanen’s unmistakable vocals.

Viljanen comments: “Joining PERCEPTION marks a powerful new chapter for us. We’re proud to be part of a label family that houses so many legendary titans. With their support, we’re ready to unleash our most furious, blistering and ambitious work yet. The future burns bright, shrouded in “Darkness Invisible.””

“Throughout their career, MORS PRINCIPIUM EST have kept impressing me and the rest of the metal world with solid melodic death of the faster kind. Although they’ve never been the most active live band, they succeed in growing their following with each of their releases what underlines the masterfulness of their craft additionally...and in this case, ‘[Of] Death’ is really just the beginning. Welcome to PERCEPTION!” states label strategist Nils Wasko.

MPE are also not stingy with details above all: Darkness Invisible will finally be unleashed upon the world on September 26, 2025, and was once again self-recorded at Ansa Studio (Ulvila, Finland); Jens Bogren mixed and Tony Lindgren mastered the ten new tracks (plus CD / digital bonus song) at Örebro, Sweden’s Fascination Street Studios (AMORPHIS, SEPULTURA, KREATOR etc.). Alvaro Valverde Fernandez was hired to create artwork and layout.

Despite delivering MPE’s much-loved trademark elements, Darkness Invisible is not content to simply revisit old formulas, but it expands upon them: the arrangements are more cinematic than ever, layered with subtle electronic textures, ambient passages, and dynamic shifts that mirror the emotional weight carried within the lyrics - and the result is a work that feels both cathartic and devastating.

First single "Of Death," also the opening track of their new record, a bone-shattering yet enormously melodic piece with a darkly majestic chorus, can be heard below:

About MORS PRINCIPIUM EST

Over the course of seven original studio albums, MORS PRICIPIUM EST refined their modern approach to melodic death metal again and again. Members came and gone, but their music remained untouched: razor-sharp riffing, sweeping orchestration, melancholic harmonies, and relentless rhythmic precision - topped by Ville Viljanen’s unmistakable vocals.

MORS PRINCIPIUM EST were founded in Pori in 1999 and are one of the longest serving Finnish melodic death metal bands. With frontman Viljanen being the most stable members, the present quintet survived several line-up changes before original members and guitarists Jori Haukio and Jarkko Kokko returned to MPE and already took part in recording their latest offering Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity [2022]. Also contributing to these refreshing re-recordings from their early years were former bassist Teemu Heinola and drummer Marko Tommila. A statement to honour the group’s history and to celebrate the freshly motivated line-up, which is now set to blast out their ninth album titled Darkness Invisible on September 26, 2025 through new label home PERCEPTION.

MORS PRINCIPIUM EST are:
Ville Viljanen | vocals
Jori Haukio | guitars, programming

History of Guns' Max Rael serves up edgy electronica on 'Slightly Less Than Human'

British electronic artist Max Rael takes a dark turn with a new single 'Slightly Less Than Human', the second single foreshadowing his debut album 'The Enemy Is Us', out June 20 via London imprint Liquid Len Recording Company.

Musician, writer, actor, engineer and producer, Max Rael has remixed such artists as Fish (Marillion), Last July, Kommand + Kontrol, Freudstein and Bienheldenschafgegenstand. He is also behind electro-goth trailblazers History Of Guns, formed in Hertfordshire in 1996. Frontrunners of the Wasp Factory / FuturePunk scene of the early 2000s, 'Your Obedient Servant' was championed by The Quietus and Mick Mercer among the “thirty best goth singles of all time”.

A dark, nervy electronic track with a great hooky synth melody and spoken word vocals, 'Slightly Less Than Human' was partly inspired by Japanese author Osamu Dazai. Lyrically, the narrator relays his feeling of being somehow different from the rest of the human race and his attempts to try to understand and copy other people's ways and behaviours in order to try pass as a regular person.

The exclusive non-album B-side 'When the Only Winning Move Is Not to Play' is a reference to 1983 film "War Games" and the book 'The Games People Play' by Eric Berne.

'It's about the futility of arguing with people who have already made their minds up," says Max Rael. "It seems we're living in times of fixed dogmatic polarisation where the right to take in new information and shift your thinking can be seen as somehow lacking integrity. I'm also a big fan of that Timothy Leary quote, "You are only as young as the last time you changed your mind."'

In April, Max Rael released his spoken-word electronic pop song 'Brighter Future', where he questions avoidant strategies of coping with life in a seemingly increasingly chaotic and unsafe world and queries how can we reverse course from an anticipated dystopian future.

The non-album B-side 'The People We Love Have Won (Persistence Is All)' is a darker beast, named after Coil's 2000 London performance at The Royal Festival Hall, which also happens to be tattooed on the inside of Rael's left wrist.

Spoken word, electronic music and loud drums can all be expected on the impending 12-track album, produced and mixed by Max Rael with additional mixing by Caden Clarkson and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, Pixies. Nine Inch Nails). Fusing a range of electronic music styles with other genres, Max Rael is a master journeyman of existential exploration into humanity, self, society, reality, psychology, philosophy and the future.

"This is a song about not feeling like a proper person, feeling slightly less than human. I was always one of those kids who felt very different and alien from everyone else, patiently waiting for the spaceship to finally arrive and take me home to my people. The lyrics have taken on a deeper significance for me personally since being diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder after they were written which has given me a new context for some of the struggles I've had with life," says Max Rael.

"In keeping with the first video, I've decided not to use AI, CGI, filters etc. and filmed all the lighting effects live in the room. It's not that I'm particularly anti-AI. I've used it in the past. More that it just felt a good time to put it down for a while and do a project without it. The b-side, When the Only Winning Move Is Not to Play, was originally slated for the album, but didn't really fit with the flow of the rest of the tracks, so it became orphaned, and has now found a home here."

As of May 21, 'Slightly Less Than Human' is available from fine digital platforms, including Amazon, and also directly from the artist via Bandcamp, where 'Brighter Future' can also be found. 'The Enemy Is Us' album will be released on June 20 via Liquid Len Recording Company.

10TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE OF DEBUT SOLO ALBUM FROM ANGEL VOCALIST FRANK DIMINO ANNOUNCED

Best known for being the frontman of the legendary Hard Rock band ANGEL, who were discovered (similarly to VAN HALEN) by KISS bass player Gene Simmons and signed to Casablanca Records. With that label ANGEL released 5 critically acclaimed studio and one live album in the second half of the 70’s before disbanding and being resurrected by both DiMino and Punky Meadows in 2018. After the band’s initial break up, Dimino went on to work with UFO’s Paul Raymond and worked as a singer for Soundtracks, scoring a Platinum album for the inclusion of his Cycle V song “Seduce Me Tonight” on the “Flashdance” soundtrack.

Frank Dimino released his first solo project Old Habits Die Hard in 2015, a fine Melodic Hard Rock album which saw him collaborate with some heavyweights of the Vegas music scene where he currently resides. Under the production of Paul Crook (MEAT LOAF), Old Habits Die Hard sees the participation, among others, Oz Fox (STRYPER), Eddie Ojeda (TWISTED SISTER), Rickey Medlocke (BLACKFOOT, LYNYRD SKYNYRD), Jeff Duncan (ARMORED SAINT), and former ANGEL bandmates Punky Meadows (on guitar) and Barry Brandt (co-writing with Frank the song” Even Now”).

Watch video for “Never Enough” Below:

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary, it is now being remastered and repackaged with the bonus acoustic track “Even Now” and liner notes by rock journalist Dave Reynolds. It will be available for the first time on 180g White Vinyl and as a 6-Panel Digipak on June 6th. DiMino explains the origins of the album “Ken Ciancimino as executive producer and Paul Crook as the musical producer is the reason I did a solo album. Having Oz Fox and Jeff LaBansky to collaborate with was so inspirational and the reason for writing all new songs for the album. I’m so thankful to all the musicians and friends that played on this album.  Everyone working together on this project is what made this album so special and that’s what makes it so worth it!”

There are only 300 of the vinyl available with a limited number of LP/CD bundles signed by DiMino. Pre-order here:  https://www.dekoentertainment.com/frank-dimino

Sinsaenum Return With Third Album "In Devastation" Out 8/8 + Share Video for Title Track

Extreme metal supergroup Sinsaenum have announced their long-awaited return with the release of their crushing new single, "In Devastation," the title track of their forthcoming third studio album, due out later this year via earMUSIC.

The release marks the band's first new material since the tragic passing of legendary drummer Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls) in 2021. Both the single and album serve as a cathartic tribute to Jordison and to guitarist and founder Frédéric Leclercq's late father, whose deaths profoundly shaped the emotional and creative direction of the project.

"I was devastated, hence the title of this album," Leclercq explains. "But we knew we had to carry on. This record is our tribute to my father, to Joey, and to anyone who's ever had to find strength in their darkest moments."

Listen to the new single here.

Watch the new music video below.

In Devastation is a 10-track tour de force of blackened death metal infused with Sinsaenum's signature melodic ferocity and experimental edge. Produced and mixed by acclaimed German audio engineer Lasse Lammert, the album explores new sonic territory for the band, blending intricate progressive elements, clean vocals, and even cello — without ever compromising their brutal core.

Joining Leclercq on this latest chapter are returning members Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Sean Zatorsky (Dååth), Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast), and Heimoth (Seth). Stepping in behind the kit is Andre Joyzi, formerly Jordison's tech and a trusted member of the band's touring family — chosen not only for his skills, but for the emotional connection he brings to continuing Jordison's legacy.

Tracks like "Obsolete and Broken" and "The Last Goodbye" showcase the band's musical and emotional evolution, from raw aggression to haunting reflection. Leclercq describes the latter as "the most personal we've done," while songs like "Shades of Black" and "Over the Red Wall" push the band into new anthemic and speed-driven territory.

Following the critically acclaimed Echoes of the Tortured (2016) and Repulsion for Humanity (2018), In Devastation cements Sinsaenum's place at the vanguard of modern metal — a band forged in grief but fueled by defiance.

Progressive Metal Unit MOTHS Release New Single "Wrath" + Music Video

Today, MOTHS, the progressive metal unit from San Juan, Puerto Rico, are pleased to release "Wrath," the second single from their upcoming album 'Septem,' due out August 1st. The new track arrives alongside an official music video, available to view below.

"Wrath" marks a bold evolution for MOTHS, as they weave Black Metal elements into their signature blend of Doom and Progressive Metal. The track channels overwhelming rage toward a world that offers no compromise—an eruption of frustration against systemic hardship and existential weight. The scorched-earth imagery reflects a desperate desire to start over, even while acknowledging that such renewal is never truly clean. Amidst the track’s unrelenting force, Mariel’s sopranoesque vocals float like a haunting specter—eerie, mysterious, and dark—offering a chilling contrast to the fury beneath. "Wrath" is a statement piece: theatrical, aggressive, and unafraid to confront the chaos head-on.

On the new single, bassist Weslie Negrón comments:

"‘Wrath’ was one of the songs we finished while recording 'Septem' at Romaphonic Studiosin Buenos Aires. I remember how everything came together quickly—it all just made sense, and we ran with it. We loved it from the start. We knew the track needed something eerie and full of depth, and Mariel absolutely delivered. When she added her vocals—especially that final section—it blew us away. The contrast between her soprano-style delivery and the chaos underneath brought out a haunting quality that elevated the whole piece. It’s also one of our favorite tracks to perform live. The energy and aggression in 'Wrath' are unlike anything we’ve done before—it’s intense, and honestly, just so much fun to play."

Watch the Music Video for "Wrath"

MOTHS' upcoming album, 'Septem,' is a visceral journey through the Seven Deadly Sins, with each track embodying a facet of indulgence, obsession, and self-destruction—from the corrosive jealousy of "Envy" to the insatiable hunger of "Gluttony" and the rage of "Wrath." The album plunges listeners into a dark, immersive experience where desire spirals into chaos.

Diving deeper into heavier territory, MOTHS fuse elements of Death and Black Metal with their signature blend of Progressive, Psychedelic, Doom, and Stoner Metal, crafting a sound that’s both aggressive and atmospheric.

'Septem' was recorded in just five days at Romaphonic Studios in Buenos Aires, capturing the raw energy and inspiration of the setting. It also marks the debut of vocalist Mariel Viruet, whose range spans from haunting melodies to visceral screams.

The album was mixed by Walter Chacón (Los Fabulosos Cadillacs) and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Between the Buried and Me) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.

On the album, Weslie Negrón reflects:

"'Septem' is our most ambitious effort to date. From traveling to another country to record it, to the addition of a new vocalist, and creating it all amidst a world in turmoil—it's incredibly rewarding to finally see it out there. This album contains some of my favorite songs we've ever written as a band. You can feel our chemistry in these tracks, how we came together to make them happen, without any boundaries or 'rules' about how songs should be written. It's an intriguing, unpredictable, and unconventional album, one that I'm sure will feel like a fresh sound to everyone who hears it."

Fox Lake Announce "NEW WORLD HEAT" ALBUM + Share "Pure Adrenaline" Video

Born in the mile-high city of Denver, FOX LAKE bring an elevated and energetic sound to the heavy music scene. The band formed back in 2017 as friends jamming in their basement, looking to branch out from the standard metalcore sound by incorporating elements of their favorite genres — hardcore, hip-hop, and rock 'n' roll.

Through the present, FOX LAKE continue to level up by delivering a musical brass-knuckled punch to the face that lands on anyone in their proximity.

Today, the band has announced its new album NEW WORLD HEAT. It arrives August 1 via MNRK HEAVY. Pre-order it here or here.

Fox Lake have also shared the video for the plate-shifting new single "Pure Adrenaline." Bolstered by thick-as-thieves grooves, a boatload of bounce, confident vocal swagger mixed with furious screams, and an onslaught of rhythmic aftershocks, "Pure Adrenaline" will reverberate pits from coast to coast.

With this song, Fox Lake prove they are beyond ready for their moment.

Watch the video below.

"Even though 'Pure Adrenaline' didn't come together until the latter half of the recording process for the album, most of the ingredients existed as far back as 2021," the band shares, revealing the single's origin story. "The majority of the instrumental demo was written years ago, and the lyrics and energy were conceptualized in our first few conversations about what we wanted to bring to this album.

"We all came together and unanimously agreed that we wanted the new songs to be faster, more visceral, more concrete, and most importantly, all gas, no brakes. Pure f**king adrenaline."

No brakes whatsoever!

Reading the lyrics throughout New World Heat, Fox Lake reveal the redemptive theme at the album's beating heart, saying, "The basic concept of the album is about burning things down in order to restart. It's about who you are versus who you want to be. The world you live in versus the world you want to live in. It takes guts to strip everything away and take a hard, honest look at your life and the world around you."

They continue, "Everyone has things that hold them down and things that seem to hold their reality in place. Habits, social circles, vices, beliefs, political systems, traumas, etc. Those things will be different for everyone. But the one constant is that action begets action and inaction begets inaction. You either drown in complacency or burn parts of yourself away to create a better world. We all have a choice. Musically, we felt like this concept fit perfectly with where we were at. We all have different inspirations that we want to bring into Fox Lake. It can be tricky to mesh together all the genres that we're inspired by while still having an original sound."

The band finishes, "So, for this record, we burned down the limitations we had previously put on ourselves and restarted our writing process with a singular goal — to sound like Fox Lake. The end result is an album that we're extremely excited about and that feels very authentic to us. The music is faster, heavier, groovier, and catchier than ever before. It's a new sound for a new world. Everyone is going to have different opinions on whether the band is more hardcore, nu-metal, rock, or metalcore. But everyone's gonna know it's Fox Lake."

Burn, baby, burn, and let the phoenix arise from the ashes in the form of Fox Lake and New World Heat. Reboot, renew, and rise to the top.

Fox Lake will embark on plenty of touring in support of New World Heat. Stay tuned for more details on the band's road treks.

California electronic artist Matthew Nowhere to release debut 'Crystal Heights' album on May 23

California electronic-synthpop artist Matthew Nowhere presents his debut album 'Crystal Heights' - a sonic love letter to the 1980s. Throughout its 13 hook laden tracks, this record celebrates and pays homage to new wave classics with memorable songs and a lush, synth and tape-laden production style.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Matthew Nowhere explores sounds of the 1980s with inspired reverence, his unique music bringing good vibes, poetic lyrics and gritty new wave beats. Currently residing in California's Nevada County in the forests of the Sierra Mountains, Matthew Nowhere uses analog production styles in creating deeply authentic and soulful music that speaks to the power of love to overcome all obstacles.

A self-described "lover and mystic", Matthew Nowhere's lyrics on 'Crystal Heights' deliver on that promise. Themes of wonder, transcendence and mystery weave through the album, along with a constant emphasis on the importance of love. Though some songs are introspective and melancholy, overall, 'Crystal Heights' is an uplifting album, following a palpable arc of love, growth, and redemption.

“This album takes another look at something beautiful once rejected. I decided to return to the music that was all around during my childhood, and to explore the entire emotional landscape of those incredibly formative years. 'Crystal Heights' represents an embracing of a forgotten part of early childhood, and a celebration of all the incredible creativity that was everywhere at the time," says Matthew Nowhere.

With gritty drum machines and analog synths, 'Echoes Still Remain', ‘Crystal Heights’ and 'Love Is Only What We Are' recall synthpop greats such as OMD, Depeche Mode and New Order.  Elsewhere, on ‘Ruby Shards’ and ‘Everything’s True’, Matthew Nowhere delivers a more band-driven sound with echoes of The Church or Psychedelic Furs.

Standout tracks 'Transforming' and 'Persist3nce' feature Lunar Twin, made of up vocalist Bryce Boudreau and multi-instrumentalist Christopher Murphy. Mainstays on the dreamgaze scene for many years, their contributions weave a fine layer of silk into the fabric of this sublime retro-futuristic music. On ‘Transforming’, Nowhere spins neon-lit electronica, mixing beautifully with Boudreau’s emotive, broody vocal style. On ‘Persist3nce’, Nowhere and Boudreau are joined by the darkwave synth stylings of Lunar Twin's Chris Murphy and angelic choir tones by the Antonio Family Singers.

"Music to me is literally magic. I am transforming feelings into sounds. And if I’m going to do that kind of alchemy, the feelings I want to share are ones that are meaningful and transformative. Life is wild and mysterious, and it doesn’t always make sense. But the important things - connection, love - are always grounding and I can’t think of anything else I want to focus my life on," says Matthew Nowhere.

As of May 23, 'Crystal Heights' is available from fine music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. Now available for pre-order, this record will be released digitally and on Limited Edition transparent blue vinyl.

Eli Young Band Launches New Era with 'Strange Hours' Album + Tour

After dropping the slinky new single “Strange Hours,” 18x RIAA Gold and Platinum-certified country hitmakers Eli Young Band are back for more, launching a new era with the announce of their Strange Hours album and headline tour. Presave the album HERE.

Set for release August 1, Strange Hours finds the trailblazing group returning to the bold creative defiance of their independent roots – and to Panhandle House Studio in their hometown of Denton, Texas, where their debut album Level was born.

Reviving the raw, grassroots energy and emotional sting of their early work, a brand new batch of country-rock anthems feature Eli Young Band’s signature live-band philosophy, and their chart-topping sound. Along the way, frontman Mike Eli continues to wield one of the most distinctive voices in modern country, leading a band of brothers who write the majority of their fan-favorite tracks.

Featuring 13 songs – all co-written by Eli Young Band members and produced by Jimmy Robbins and Eric Arjes – Strange Hours includes title track with its grooving tribute to a black-magic romance, plus the songs off their  Nothing On the Wild EP. A fearless batch of all new tunes join the previously released “Home In Hometown,” “What Do Lonely People Do,” “I’m Yours Amen” and “Nothing On the Wild.”

Looking back over the course of their 25-year career, the band members say they still feel the magnetic pull of sold-out country music crowds. And it still has them keeping Strange Hours.

“This is a full circle moment for us. Going back home to Denton, Texas to record the album that is our first independent release in years,” shares lead vocalist, Mike Eli. “It was just us in the studio with our producers and a couple of old friends making music that we love! These songs are special to us and this record is the start of a whole new chapter for EYB!“

Pre-save/pre-add Eli Young Band’s Strange Hours via here, or buy the album (8/1) on a signed CD/vinyl at the Eli Young Band store via eliyoungband.com.

Making six key stops in their home state of Texas, the thrilling foursome return to their element – packing a live-show setlist with No. 1 smashes like the 5x Platinum single “Crazy Girl,” 3x Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” 2x Platinum “Love Ain’t” and Platinum “Drunk Last Night.”

ABOUT ATTACK ATTACK!

If you went to Warped Tour in the mid 2000’s, shopped at Hot Topic, or were active on Myspace; then you have heard the name “Attack Attack!” While the band’s early career was relatively short-lived, their reputation has done nothing but grow since the band went on indefinite hiatus in 2013. Known for incorporating dance/electronica music with metal, the band consistently bent the rules of songwriting. They took the sounds they liked and crafted seemingly incompatible genres into anthems for local Ohio scene kids, and later, audiences across the globe. After years of silence, Attack Attack!exploded back onto the scene in 2020. They’re here to remind you that rules are made to be broken, adversity is meant to be overcome, and that legends never die.

Out Friday from ONSLAUGHT!

There is no doubt that ONSLAUGHT are the undisputed kings of UK Thrash and one of the original pioneers of the Thrash Metal genre in general. Having issued seven studio albums and two live albums to date, ONSLAUGHT were originally formed in 1982 by songwriter/guitarist Nige Rockett and Paul Hill.

The band rapidly established themselves globally with a series of classic album releases in the 1980s: Power From Hell (1985), The Force (1986), and In Search of Sanity(1989).

Renowned for writing neck-breaking metal anthems such as “Power From Hell,” “Metal Forces,” “Killing Peace,” “66’Fucking’6,” and “Bow Down to the Clowns,” ONSLAUGHT’s songs still stand as ferocious, mosh-pit-inducing favourites across generations of dedicated metalheads—a true testament to the quality of music that ONSLAUGHT has consistently created throughout their long and illustrious career.

As an internationally recognized heavy metal powerhouse, ONSLAUGHT have played in over 70 countries across the globe—from Lebanon to Latvia, Argentina to China—appearing at the most prestigious festivals on the planet and headlining countless tours and shows worldwide.

Building a truly dedicated and loyal following since the band’s inception, fans were rewarded by seeing ONSLAUGHT inducted into the prestigious Metal Hall of Fame during their performance at the Maryland Death Fest in 2022—a fitting accolade for delivering over four decades of fury and aggression.

ONSLAUGHT have been honored to feature three world-class vocalists over the years, each playing their part in taking the band to new levels of popularity. There was, of course, Sy Keeler, featured on The Force (1986), Killing Peace (2007), Sounds of Violence (2011), and VI (2013), and the legendary Steve Grimmett, whose iconic vocals graced the 1989 release In Search of Sanity. Currently, Dave Garnett brings a whole new level of energy and brutality to the band's sound, receiving huge plaudits for his performance on the critically acclaimed 2020 album, Generation Antichrist.

As the band's ubiquitous guitarist and founding member, Nige Rockett serves as the undeniably brutal riffing machine—vowing to make each new ONSLAUGHT record sound more violent and relentless than the last. The band's longstanding bastion of bass, Jeff Williams, with his distinctive, thunderous low-end, pulls the entire wall of sound together, laying down a solid foundation alongside the dynamic and incendiary drumming of James Perry. James joined ONSLAUGHT in 2018, the same year that lead guitarist Wayne Dorman came on board. Their addition brought a wave of new energy and intensity to the band, giving ONSLAUGHT complete freedom to create extreme music like never before. This was evident on the band's 2020 release, Generation Antichrist, arguably ONSLAUGHT's most successful album to date—charting high in all major territories and reaching #1 on the US Indie/College charts.

In 2024, ONSLAUGHT signed a new long-term recording contract with metal giants Reigning Phoenix Music, seeking a fresh challenge with a partner that shares the same drive and ambition as the band.

The first release under RPM will be a very special double album to celebrate the inception of the band and the 40th anniversary of ONSLAUGHT's debut album, Power From Hell.

Titled Origins of Aggression, the release will contain 22 tracks in total across a double album format. Disc 1 features re-recordings of the most important ONSLAUGHT tracks from the early years, while Disc 2 consists of punk and metal cover versions that shaped ONSLAUGHT into the band they are today—songs that were jammed at rehearsals and tracks that inspired the band to pick up an instrument and play. It’s a fascinating sonic journey that tells the story of how the band came into existence.

As ONSLAUGHT approach yet another year of thrash metal history-making, the band is gearing up for the 2025 World Tour to promote Origins of Aggression and celebrate this landmark anniversary.

This is a very exciting new chapter for everyone in the ONSLAUGHT camp—with more news, more releases, more tours, and more important shows to come.

See you in the pit!

BEAR MACE Release Crushing New Single “Drown Them In Their Blood”

Chicago death metal destroyers BEAR MACE have unleashed their latest single, “Drown Them In Their Blood,” a brutal, mid-tempo assault taken from their acclaimed third album Slaves of the Wolf. With its menacing groove and war-torn lyrical themes, the track stands out as one of the album’s heaviest moments. Pre-orders for Slaves Of The Wolf are available HERE.

“Going deep into your enemy’s territory to annihilate them in the middle of the night. It is sometimes a necessity in warfare,” says vocalist CHRIS SCEARCE, whose lyrics bring a visceral, tactical realism to the band’s ferocious sound.

Originally written at a much faster pace, the band made a deliberate choice to shift gears and let the weight of the riffs do the talking.

“‘Drown Them…’ started out as a much faster song,” explains guitarist MARK SUGAR. “But on a record that already has a lot of fast songs, we decided this one would work better as a slower, Bolt Thrower-ish crusher, and we made it so.”

The result is a grinding, doom-laced death metal anthem that channels the grim finality of combat and the unstoppable force of old-school heaviness. With its thunderous riffs and deliberate pacing, “Drown Them In Their Blood” is both a nod to death metal’s roots and a statement of BEAR MACE’s unstoppable evolution.

About BEAR MACE:

Formed in Chicago in 2012, BEAR MACE stands as a relentless force in the death metal genre. The band's name reflects their fierce approach to music—uncompromising and formidable. Drawing deeply from the well of early death metal influences, BEAR MACE crafts a sound that combines the raw aggression and complex narratives reminiscent of genre pioneers like Bolt Thrower and Massacre. Their music is not just an onslaught of sound but a meticulously woven tapestry of historical and fantastical themes, delivered with technical prowess and intense energy.

Over the years, BEAR MACE has solidified their reputation through both their recorded music and dynamic live performances. Albums like Butchering The Colossus and Charred Field Of Slaughter showcase their ability to blend brutal riffs with deep lyrical content, exploring themes from ancient wars to modern dystopias. With each release, BEAR MACE continues to hone their craft, engaging fans with music that is both thought-provoking and viscerally satisfying.

As they prepare to release their third album, Slaves Of The Wolf, BEAR MACE remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the death metal genre, ensuring their music is not only heard but felt—a true testament to their passion for and dedication to the spirit of heavy metal.

Bear Mace - Slaves Of The Wolf

In the heart of Chicago, amidst the city's vibrant cacophony, a ferocious new chapter is being written by BEAR MACE with their latest release, Slaves Of The Wolf. This third studio album, set to be unveiled on June 6, 2025, is a testament to the band's evolution and their unwavering commitment to the raw energy of death metal. For BEAR MACE, composed of Chris Scearce on vocals, Mark Sugar and Tommy Bellino on guitars, Garry Naples behind the drums, and John Porada on bass, this album is not just another collection of tracks—it's a narrative deeply rooted in the themes of warfare, survival, and the echoes of historical battles.

The journey of Slaves Of The Wolf begins with its opening track, an eponymous piece that channels the spirit of soldiers lost to the annals of history, their lives swallowed by the vast, cold embrace of war. This sets the stage for an album where each song weaves part of a larger, darker tapestry. From "Worthless Lives," which reflects on our dystopian reality with poignant lyrics and relentless riffs, to "Drown Them In Their Blood," a slower, heavier homage to the brutal necessities of war, the album crafts a compelling saga.

One of the standout tracks, "The Iceman Cometh," explores the chilling life of Richard Kuklinski with an intensity that matches the cold-blooded tales of his crimes. Meanwhile, "Captured And Consumed" features guest vocals by death metal pioneer Kam Lee from Massacre, adding a visceral layer to the haunting recount of WWII atrocities.

The production of the album, managed by the band and captured in the diverse acoustics of Hypercube Studios and Miracle On Mace Street Studios, showcases the meticulous care of engineer Sanford Parker and mixing and mastering by Damian Herring. This technical expertise ensures that each note and nuance is sharply delivered, from the guttural depths of Chris's vocals to the dual assault of Mark's and Tommy's guitars.

The visual representation of the album, crafted by artist Dedy Badic, mirrors the music's raw ferocity and historical depth, encapsulating the essence of BEAR MACE's narrative in a striking image that promises to resonate as powerfully as the music itself.

As Slaves Of The Wolf prepares for release, BEAR MACE is also gearing up to bring this new material to life on stages across the country. Known for their explosive live performances, the band promises to deliver shows that not only showcase their latest work but also highlight their growth as musicians and storytellers.

For fans old and new, Slaves Of The Wolf is more than just an album. It's an invitation to explore the depths of human history and emotion through the lens of BEAR MACE’s distinctive, relentless sound. As June approaches, the anticipation builds not just for a series of tracks, but for a powerful narrative set to be unleashed in the most explosive way possible.

About BEAR MACE:

Hailing from the robust metal scene of Chicago, Illinois, BEAR MACE has carved a formidable niche within the death metal genre since their inception in 2012. The band’s name, a nod to both ferocity and defense, perfectly encapsulates their sound: relentless, powerful, and unyielding. Comprised of vocalist Chris Scearce, guitarists Mark Sugar and Tommy Bellino, drummer Garry Naples, and bassist John Porada, BEAR MACE is a force to be reckoned with, known for their brutal riffs, historical and darkly imaginative lyrical content, and explosive live performances.

BEAR MACE's music is a deliberate throwback to the death metal of the late '80s and early '90s, drawing significant inspiration from the genre's pioneers like MASSACRE and BOLT THROWER. Their sound is characterized by a blend of raw aggression and meticulous craftsmanship, with themes that delve into historical wars, mythical narratives, and modern dystopias. This thematic depth sets BEAR MACE apart, as they weave intricate stories with each track, engaging listeners not just with sound, but with storytelling that invites reflection on the past and present.

Since releasing their first demo, Kodiak Killers, in 2014, BEAR MACE has consistently upped the ante with each subsequent release. Their debut album, Butchering The Colossus (2017), was a breakout success, establishing them as serious contenders in the metal community. This was followed by Charred Field Of Slaughter in 2020, an album that received acclaim for its intensity and complexity, further solidifying the band’s reputation.

Beyond their studio recordings, BEAR MACE is known for their dynamic live shows, which capture the band’s energy and technical prowess. They have shared stages with notable bands and played at major festivals, strengthening their presence in the metal scene. Their tour with death metal legends MACABRE in the summer of 2022, including a co-headlining spot at Into The Darkness Fest in Ohio, highlights their standing among contemporaries and legends alike.

The release of their third album, Slaves Of The Wolf, in 2025 marks another milestone for BEAR MACE. This album not only showcases their growth as musicians but also highlights a stable lineup that has been together for over five years. With Slaves Of The Wolf, BEAR MACE continues to push the boundaries of their sound while paying homage to the roots of death metal, crafting tracks that are both aggressive and deeply narrative.

As BEAR MACE continues to evolve and expand their auditory assault, their dedication to the craft and their fans remains unwavering. With a solid foundation and a clear vision, they are poised to remain a staple in the playlists of metal enthusiasts and a commanding presence on the global metal stage.

EXILED HOPE Releases Lyric Video For "Behold My Shattered Skies"

Critically acclaimed gothic power metal artist EXILED HOPE, has revealed a lyric video for "Behold My Shattered Skies". The song is taken from Apocrypha, which was released on all streaming platforms on April 11, 2025.

"Behold My Shattered Skies" is a standout track on Apocrypha, with a sound that blends both folk metal and 70s rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac with a cinematic quality. Sofia comments,  “Behold My Shattered Skies” is very different from the rest of the album because it’s a purely acoustic folk song (with extra synth layers for ambience). This song is an outlet for my spooky folk influences, which is a genre that I love almost as much as metal. This song was strongly inspired by the soundtrack to The Witcher 3, drawing from “Ladies Of The Woods” and “Priscilla’s Song”. I took it as another opportunity to add a soundtrack-style feel to the album and to remind listeners that my influences venture beyond even all the various metal subgenres."

About EXILED HOPE:

Multi-instrumentalist Sofia Frasz established EXILED HOPE in 2019, and draws musical inspiration from the likes of AVANTASIA, NIGHTWISH, KAMELOT and CRADLE OF FILTH to name a few. EXILED HOPE’s releases all take place in the same fictional universe and combine to form a dark fantasy metal opera. Each album centers on a character dealing with both an internal and external conflict in this world, and the lyrics explore how they navigate those conflicts. This is intended to provide some kind of escapism through the lyrical world building, while still keeping the songs grounded in real, relatable emotions despite their fantastical setup. EXILED HOPE is working towards the next album, Apocrypha, due to be released April 11th, 2025. Through EXILED HOPE, Sofia has composed music for two short films, Hallowed Paths and What Happens After Midnight, and has collaborated with UK melodeath outfit STEEL FORGE.

The track is a moody rage, loaded with arena-sized hooks that keep pace throughout the entirety of the song. Ultimately, "DEATH CLOCK" will have fans bouncing and jumping up and down as if they were at a party celebrating the end of the world. It lyrically looks at the inevitable fate that awaits us all.

"'Death Clock' describes the world inside of your head," the band states. "Everyone undoubtedly thinks about death. The song is just being honest when it comes to the fact we all die and how it makes us feel. We wanted it to sound like you're racing against a clock."

Wolves At The Gate have quietly and naturally evolved since their emergence out of the Midwest in 2008. Their vision unfolded across albums such as Captors [2012], VxV [2014], Types & Shadows [2016], Eclipse [2019], and Eulogies [2022]. Blabbermouth rated the latter "9.0-out-of-10.0," while mxdwn summed it up as "powerfully moving." Along the way, the group tallied tens of millions of streams fueled by the likes of "Counterfeit," "Deadman," "Lowborn," "Peace That Starts The War," and more. Not to mention, they've performed alongside everyone from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Red to Fit For A King, August Burns Red, and Born Of Osiris. In 2024, a core idea screamed out to guitarist Steve Cobucci, shaping the creative direction of the band's next evolution. It slowly, but surely seeped into the DNA of the music and his words.

"As I was working on the album and especially the lyrics, I began to realize that the Wasteland was a metaphor for a frame of mind that I don't want to live in, but a world I feel myself drawn back into over and over again," Cobucci reveals. "I hate it. It's a world of empty promises. It's a mirage. A counterfeit."

The musicians carefully pieced together what would become Wasteland. Cobucci co-produced the 13-track body of work with Josh Gilbert of Spiritbox, while the band recorded in New Jersey, San Diego, and Los Angeles. This time around, they added multiple dimensions to their signature sound, layering intriguing interludes and electronic overtures into the framework.

ALTERNATIVE + METALCORE A-LISTERS UNITE FOR THE DOGS OF HOPE— A COMPILATION ALBUM TO RAISE FUNDS FOR NO-KILL ANIMAL SHELTER IN RURAL ALABAMA

"This isn't about changing the whole world,” says Tom Bejgrowicz, who began volunteering at RCAS in 2020. "It's about changing a world—one animal at a time."

For every one of us who have asserted that "dogs are man's/human's best friend," Iodine Recordings and Tom Bejgrowicz (who has worked with The Beastie Boys, Quicksand, and Johnny Cash) have corralled some of the finest names in the alternative, hardcore, and metal scenes to put their money where their mouths are.

Complete with 14 (13 of them exclusive) tracks from Snapcase, Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits), Alex Skolnick (Testament), Killswitch Engage, Jeromes Dream, Death Ray Vision, Orange 9MM, Deadguy, Lybica, Roman Candle, Drought, Enforced, and Taken, this is a tribute like none other. Slated for release on August 8, this summer is officially going to the dogs.

With a cover designed by Jeremy Dean (Green Day, The Rolling Stones, The Bronx) and the project mastered by the legendary Jack Shirley (Deafhaven, Joyce Manor, Quicksand), The Dogs Of Hope is a sonic love letter to the canines that roam the streets of Randolph County in Alabama. Their slobbery smiles of trust have emboldened some of the greatest musicians to put pen to paper to share songs for some of the most deserving four-legged friends around.

A living and breathing symbol of the indie community's love for community care, 100% of the sales both digitally and physically from The Dogs Of Hope will be going directly to the Randolph County Animal Shelter (RCAS), nestled in rural Wedowee, Alabama.

This no-kill, privately run facility has to date saved thousands of animal's lives, all despite their lack of public funding or support from the county.

Operating with a small staff at a completely full capacity since 2021, the Randolph County Animal Shelter is a beacon of hope in a region that features no spay/neuter programs. Committed to providing life-changing services for the animals of Wedowee, we can now all be a part of making this ever-changing world a better place to live in by supporting and listening to artists who are already the favorites of millions.
