Chase Rice Earns Critical Praise for 'I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell,' Joins "Fox & Friends" and "Tamron Hall" for Performances

From Coors Brewery in Golden, Colo. to Super Bowl Festivities in Phoenix, Ariz.
Plus a Grand Ole Opry Performance in Nashville, Tenn.

Watch Rice Perform on “Fox & Friends” This Friday, Feb. 17
and “Tamron Hall” on Monday, Feb. 20

With Friday’s release of his fourth studio album, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Chase Rice re-introduced himself to fans and critics alike, earning early praise for the standout project which he will bring to television audiences nationwide via a performance on “Fox & Friends” this Friday, Feb. 17 as well as “Tamron Hall” this coming Monday, Feb. 20.

With Rice having turned inward for inspiration and motivation on the project, that process of “chasing self-respect developed his latest, best album yet,” declares the Tennessean, noting that despite “a glass ceiling both he and the industry had imposed on his career, he's clearly blasted through that impediment” and even remarking of standout track “Bench Seat,” “the touching country ballad could be, by the end of 2023, one of the surprise candidates for Song of the Year.”

Cowboys & Indians further celebrates I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell for its “risk-taking and rule breaking approach,” proclaiming, “that gamble has paid off handsomely, resulting in vulnerable and personal music.” Billboard agrees, noting the album “refines his artistic voice,” creating an offering that is “still propulsive with arena-ready moments, but is laced with deeper, more introspective themes.”

PopCulture asserts that the project is already “the best country album of the year… and everybody’s got to live up to it,” remarking that instead of following the traditional “if it’s not broke don’t fix it” approach, “Rice and his team, somehow, simultaneously broke it AND fixed it — both on purpose.” Leading U.K. music publication Entertainment Focus also has high praise for the “absolute triumph” of an album, labeling it with the first five star review of the year – an honor that took the outlet until September to award in 2022 – and remarking that “it’s a songwriter’s album and a lyricist’s album but it also does all sorts of wonderful things with melodies that are both clever and yet infectious at the same time.”

In celebration of the critically acclaimed release, Rice treated fans across the country to stripped-back, and acoustic live performances of the album, beginning on release day itself. Starting in Golden, Colo. on Friday, Feb. 10, Rice stopped by Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, to perform atop the dugout before visiting the Coors Brewery for a special performance in honor of the album’s cover photo featuring his late father, Daniel Rice, with two Coors Banquets in hand. Rice then traveled to Phoenix, Ariz. to take part in the Super Bowl festivities with an album release show for football fans on Saturday, Feb. 11, before returning home to Nashville to grace the Grand Ole Opry stage last night, Feb. 14.

In addition to treating the full Opry audience to new songs “Bench Seat,” “Way Down Yonder” and recent No. 1 hit “Drinkin' Beer. Talkin' God. Amen.,” Rice also performed a post-Opry show for purchasers of the album, treating those fans to live renditions of album cuts “If I Were Rock & Roll,” “All Dogs Go To Hell,” “Life Part Of Livin'” and “I Hate Cowboys,” plus his triple-Platinum No. 1 "Eyes On You" and the Diamond-certified smash hit "Cruise," which Rice co-wrote.

Soon, fans will get to hear even more of the new music live on Rice’s Way Down Yonder Tour, set to visit iconic venues such as Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre beginning March 3.

About Chase Rice
With nearly 2.4 million albums sold and over 2.4 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With the new album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell crafted in his rural Tennessee home-turned-studio and available everywhere now, his sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life, as evidenced by recent releases “Bench Seat,” “Way Down Yonder,” “I Hate Cowboys” and “Key West & Colorado.” The new music serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, featuring his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen. (feat. Florida Georgia Line)” and Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.” This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better, more free; unbeholden and uninhibited. The new music builds upon the success of his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions, which featured the triple-Platinum, two-week chart topper “Eyes On You” – Rice’s first No. 1 as an artist and the most-streamed song of his career. Lambs & Lions followed Ignite the Night, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Platinum-certified “Ready Set Roll.” In addition to guesting on sold out arena tours with Kane Brown and Jason Aldean plus stadium shows with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice is set to get back on the road this spring in support of the new music. I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell Set for Release February 10

Chase Rice brought a rousing rendition of “Way Down Yonder” to ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night, Jan. 12, for the television debut of the outlaw anthem. Watch the full performance HERE.

Way down yonder where the outlaws wander / you can feel that thunder in your bones,”  he growled, painting a vivid picture of hardworking characters living beyond the confines of the law. The song and accompanying music video, shot in a single take as a time period piece at Fort Worth’s Stockyards National Historic District, previews the new sound embodying Rice’s next musical era.

Recorded during an immersive two-week period alongside producer Oscar Charles and a live band at his farm outside Nashville, Rice’s forthcoming album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell (out Feb. 10) was crafted using a makeshift recording environment in his living room to capture a pure, raw style unlike any of his previous studio projects.

The shift in setting suited the set of more vulnerable, personal music from the man Billboard celebrates as “having storytelling details tumble from his lips, his portraits created quickly and efficiently,” with CMT noting, “the vocalist worked day in and day out to find the courage to knock down the wall he had kept up his entire career” and Taste of Country declaring, “over the last decade, few artists have come so far to find their true voice.”

Viewers can catch Rice again on Thursday, Jan. 19 as he joins “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” Check local listings for more details.

Soon, fans can hear the new music live on Rice’s Way Down Yonder Tour, set to visit iconic venues such as Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre from March 3 through July 1.

Way Down Yonder Tour Kicks Off March 3

Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Chase Rice returns to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! with outlaw anthem “Way Down Yonder” tomorrow, January 12 from his forthcoming album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, set for release February 10. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs at 11:35/10:35pm CT on ABC.

“When we wrote this song, I had the mountains of North Carolina where I grew up in mind; all the moonshining history there in the Appalachians,” recalls Rice. “Then all of a sudden during the recording process, Rob McNelley started playing this crazy carnival sound on the acoustic… and it got Western quick. That turned it from a song I didn’t think was even going to make the cut for this next album into one of my favorite songs on the project.”

The song was recorded along with the rest of the upcoming album during a two-week period at Rice’s farm outside Nashville, with producer Oscar Charles and a live band using a makeshift recording environment to capture a pure, raw style unlike any of his previous studio projects.

Featuring 13 tracks ranging from admiration of a Western way of life in recent releases “I Hate Cowboys” and “Way Down Yonder” to emotional reckoning in “Key West & Colorado” and a reimagined album version of “If I Were Rock & Roll,” I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell also honors Rice’s late father, Daniel, with its cover art.

“My dad was one of those good guys you read about – tough, hardworking, always helping other people out,” Rice shared of the man gracing the album cover. “I try to live my life in a way that would make him proud. I haven't always measured up to that, but I get closer to that man I want to be and the man he’d be proud of every single day.

“Making this album was a big step towards that musically, too,” he continued of the project for which he served as a writer on all 13 tracks, including three solo writes. “Not only is it the most vulnerable I've ever been, it’s also something he’d enjoy listening to and is full of stories I wish I could tell him. I’ve always wanted to honor him by using this photo as an album cover, and I know this project is the one that deserves that. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it.”

Last week, Rice brought one of the title tracks to “Good Morning America,” performing the television debut of “I Hate Cowboys.” Watch his performance HERE.

Fans will also get to hear the new music live on Rice’s upcoming Way Down Yonder Tour, set to visit iconic venues such as Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre from March 3 through July 1.

With his just-announced album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell set to showcase the results of a year off the road spent reconnecting with his passions both musically and personally, multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Chase Rice is ready to bring that sonic return to his roots to fans across the country this spring on the Way Down Yonder Tour.

“I focused on ‘What can I put out that makes me come to life?’,” Rice shared recently with PopCulture of the new music he will debut on this tour. “Because if I come to life when I’m on the stage and up there singing songs that I’m passionate about and love, man, people are gonna love them that much more… I’m at the place in my life now where I just want people to know who I really am as opposed to who they think I am. I think this record’s a good start.”

Kicking off March 3 in Laughlin, Nev., the headlining run presented by Coors Banquet spans 23 dates across the U.S. including iconic theaters such as Nashville Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre, concluding April 29 in Rice’s birthplace of Daytona, Fla. Joining as special guests across varying dates are Avery AnnaTyler Braden, Ashland CraftDalton DoverKameron MarloweRead Southall Band and Conner Smith.

Tickets to all dates go on sale this Thursday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. local time via ChaseRice.com, with pre-sales beginning Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. local time.

The tour earns its name from Rice’s latest release off the forthcoming album, outlaw anthem “Way Down Yonder,” available everywhere now along with an accompanying Wild West-style music video. Written by Rice together with Hunter Phelps, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass and Corey Crowder during a writing retreat in Florida that also produced recent release “Key West & Colorado,” the song paints a vivid picture of hardworking characters living beyond the confines of the law:

About Chase Rice
With nearly 2.4 million albums sold and over 2.4 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With the forthcoming album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell crafted in his rural Tennessee home-turned-studio, his sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life, as evidenced by recent releases “Key West & Colorado” and “Way Down Yonder.” The new music serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, featuring his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen. (feat. Florida Georgia Line)” and Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.” This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better, freer; unbeholden and uninhibited. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Platinum-certified “Ready Set Roll.” In addition to selling out arenas with Kane Brown and Jason Aldean plus stadiums with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice also consistently sells out venues across the U.S. and Europe on his own headlining tours.

ust hours after releasing brand-new song “Way Down Yonder,” multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Chase Rice was surprised at SiriusXM The Highway’s “Music Row Happy Hour” with a plaque commemorating his Pandora Billionaire status. The milestone commemorates over 1.5 billion streams on the platform, and Rice has been added to Pandora’s Country Billionaires Radio in celebration of the honor.

“Throughout my career, now matter where we were at with touring or radio success, our incredible fans have consistently streamed the music,” shared the man praised by American Songwriter as “one of country music’s most intriguing and lasting acts” in response to the honor. "This is a testament to those fans and their love of country music. They're why we keep pushing ourselves and why we're so excited to share new songs with them now."

Rice quickly moved from one celebration to the next, making his way up Broadway to kick off the night’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy tour stop at Bridgestone Arena. In addition to his chart-topping hits including “Eyes On You” and “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” plus fellow Platinum-certified favorites “Ready Set Roll” and “Lonely If You Are,” Rice also treated fans to a live performance of the just-released song.

Written by Rice together with Hunter Phelps, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass and Corey Crowder during a writing retreat in Florida that also produced recent release “Key West & Colorado,” the song paints a vivid picture of hardworking characters living beyond the confines of the law:

Way down yonder where the outlaws wander
You can feel that thunder in your bones
Rippin’ hot rod runners under moonlight cover
Just some back glass gunners on the road
Where you buy your bud with your moonshine money
Make your love where the bees make honey
When the cut’s where you’re born and raised
Man it’s in your blood, we were born this way down yonder

“When we wrote this song, I had the mountains of North Carolina where I grew up in mind; all the moonshining history there in the Appalachians,” recalls Rice. “Then all of a sudden during the recording process, Rob McNelley started playing this crazy carnival sound on the acoustic… and it got Western quick. That turned it from a song I didn’t think was even going to make the cut for this next album into one of my favorite songs on the project.”

The song and accompanying music video, shot in a single take as a time period piece at Fort Worth’s Stockyards National Historic District, previews a new sound embodying Rice’s next musical era. His forthcoming album, recorded during a two-week period alongside producer Oscar Charles and a live band at Rice’s farm outside Nashville, used makeshift recording environment to capture a pure, raw style unlike any of his previous studio projects.

The shift in setting suited the set of more vulnerable, personal music from the man Billboard celebrates as “having storytelling details tumble from his lips, his portraits created quickly and efficiently,” with CMT noting, “The vocalist worked day in and day out to find the courage to knock down the wall he had kept up his entire career. Once he demolished the barricade holding him back, he left his heart and soul on the writing table.”

Chase Rice Takes Fans to the Wild West With "Way Down Yonder," Out Now

As teased earlier this week by multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Chase Rice, his outlaw anthem “Way Down Yonder” is available everywhere now along with an accompanying Wild West-style music video. Today’s release showcases a rugged new sound previewing Rice’s next musical era, which will be on full display via a forthcoming album. Listen to “Way Down Yonder” HERE and watch the music video Below.

Rice will celebrate the release with an appearance on SiriusXM The Highway’s “Music Row Happy Hour” this afternoon before heading to Bridgestone Arena to kick off the night’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy tour stop. Fans can also stop by the Bridgestone Plaza all day for a special “Way Down Yonder” time period photo experience – with the chance that Rice himself will make an appearance at the activation during their photoshoot.

The photo experience embodies the Western influence of the song’s official music video, which was shot in a single take as a time period piece at Fort Worth’s Stockyards National Historic District as showcased exclusively by Entertainment Tonight HERE.

Written by Rice together with Hunter Phelps, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass and Corey Crowder during a writing retreat in Florida that also produced recent release “Key West & Colorado,” “Way Down Yonder” is the latest preview of his forthcoming album, painting a vivid picture of hardworking characters living beyond the confines of the law:

Where you buy your bud with your moonshine money
Make your love where the bees make honey
When the cut’s where you’re born and raised
Man it’s in your blood, we were born this way down yonder

The song was recorded along with the rest of the forthcoming project during a two-week period at Rice’s farm outside Nashville, with producer Oscar Charles and a live band using makeshift recording environment to capture a pure, raw style unlike any of his previous studio projects.
