The Native Howl Announce US Headliner In Support Of Latest Album 'Sons Of Destruction'

Thrash Grass" pioneers The Native Howl have announced their US headlining run in support of their latest album, 'Sons Of Destruction' (out via Sumerian Records), with outlaw alt-folk group Tejon Street Corner Thieves as direct support. The tour kicks off on Thursday, June 6 in Detroit, Michigan and wraps in Chicago, Illinois later in the month. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 14 at 10 am local time, so be sure to get yours at the link here before it's too late.

The Native Howl Unleash New Album 'Sons Of Destruction' via Sumerian Records

"Thrash Grass" pioneers The Native Howl have unleashed their new album 'Sons Of Destruction' which was produced by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Steel Panther, Stone Sour) via Sumerian Records. In celebration of the release, the genre-blending quartet has dropped the official lyric video for "B.O.G.". Speaking about today's news, the band shares:

"'Sons of Destruction' is a collection of music addressing one of the most paradoxical elements of the human condition: the creation of one’s own demise. Looking at this concept through our Thrash Grass lenses, we truly are so grateful for the opportunity to share it with the world!"

After winning Season 1 of the hit TV series No Cover, the band has since released the titular album title track "Sons Of Destruction", "Can't Sleep", "Mercy" featuring Lzzy Hale, and most recently, their fresh reimagination of Johnny Cash's haunting "God's Gonna Cut You Down". Altogether, the tracks have amassed 1.2 million views on YouTube and over 564k streams on Spotify alone. Purveyors of their own genre-blurring sound "Thrash Grass", The Native Howl has breathed new life into Johnny Cash's brooding "God's Gonna Cut You Down" with their fresh reimagination of the song and accompanying music video (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the track, the band commented:

"It was a privilege to honor Johnny Cash by following Frankie Nasso’s vision for this project. This song and video have a very different tone than anything in our repertoire thus far, and the writing/arrangement process was just as unique to us. We are grateful to Jay Ruston for helping us capture the studio magic of its’ assembly, and create a new Howl soundscape, of which we are very proud!”

Purveyors of their own distinctive, genre-blurring sound "Thrash Grass", The Native Howl has released their gritty new single and official music video for "Mercy" featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm (via Sumerian Records). With foreboding, foot-stomping rhythm, and the band's raw intensity paired with Lzzy's inimitable vocals, "Mercy" is bound to rattle listeners down to the bone. When asked about today's release, the band shared:

“‘Mercy’ was written as our original Thrash Grass anthem, and to have our vocal hero Lzzy Hale singing on it is nothing short of a dream come true!

‘Mercy’ subtly tells the story of infamous Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, and the dichotomy of dark and light between him and his disgraced politician brother William. While pulling from additional themes of organized religion and corruption, the music bed's growth in intensity throughout attempts to paint the process of all evil and wrong-doing slowly being brought to light.

Speaking about The Native Howl, Lzzy Hale also commented:

“I fell in love with Native Howl from the moment they walked on stage at the Troubadour. I could feel their energy before they even played the first note. For those few minutes of performance I was entertained in a way I haven’t felt in years. These boys are doing something special, unapologetically…and that is the magic. I was a judge on the show No Cover, but not when these boys played, I was, and forever will be a fan. The only thing sweeter than their incredible mash up of influence and top tier musicianship, is their big hearts. Good luck world…The Native Howl are about to set you on fire.”

The Native Howl, purveyors of their own genre-blurring sound "Thrash Grass" who captivated audiences by winning Season 1 of the hit TV series No Cover, have today dropped their new song "Can't Sleep" (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the track, the band shared:

"Like much of The Native Howl’s catalog, “Can’t Sleep” was inspired by cinema while touring. The film “The Matrix” had a large role in the song’s rowdy instrumental and vocal delivery, while the over-exerting lifestyle of being in a touring band did the rest. The lyrical themes of struggle, loss, and desperation came from personal experience."

The Native Howl (Winners of Band Competition TV Series 'No Cover') Release New Track + Music Video "Sons Of Destruction" (via Sumerian Records)

Hailing from Leonard, MI, The Native Howl (winners of the hit TV series No Cover) have released their new single and music video for "Sons of Destruction", the first after signing with Sumerian Records. Speaking on their new agreement with Sumerian and experience on No Cover, the band shares:

"Sumerian Records is the first record label that we in The Native Howl have come across that has matched our level of excitement and passion for original music. They have their thumb on the pulse of the modern industry, whilst retaining the integrity and zeal of times past. We are beyond stoked to work with a team that has a genuine love of musical creation.

We in The Native Howl were honored to take part in this competition. We found the concept of the show itself (to judge musicians based on compositional ability rather than performance alone) to be noble; and its execution, exemplary. After a decade as a band, and through the grueling Covid era, we must thank ‘No Cover’ for being the galvanization required to save our group, and for proving to us that there is now more than ever a necessity for original music in the world.”

The Native Howl is an American “Thrash Grass” band from Leonard, MI. A newly-coined genre from their 2016 release of the same name, they combine the aggressiveness and intensity of thrash metal with the melodicism and precision of bluegrass. The band has toured 45 of the 50 U.S. States as well as Canada, naming highlights such as the Rock Legends Cruise, closing FloydFest, and performing The National Anthem before The Chicago Bulls’ game at United Center in Chicago.
