Goth-darkwave act THE AWAKENING announces 'Haunting Tour 2025' in support of 12th album. Watch the video for 'Haunting'

Gothic-Darkwave act The Awakening  has announced its first tour dates for 2025 in support of his eponymous album - his twelfth to date - recently released via Intervention Arts on vinyl, CD, digitally and various limited-edition formats.

The Haunting Tour 2025 dates include headline shows in Germany, France, the USA and Canada and co-headline performances at the legendary Castle Party in Poland and Brainstorm Fest in the Netherlands. The Awakening will headline the first edition of Glōm Fest, a new pop-up festival, which will take six international acts up the west coast of the US from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Canada.

Now US-based, The Awakening was formed in Johannesburg, South Africa in the late ’90s as the creative expression of vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ashton Nyte, who was anointed as "Johannesburg's Bowie" for his widely varying musical styles and theatrical performances. Having morphed over the years, The Awakening's sound incorporates numerous genres, including gothic rock, darkwave, post-punk, electronic rock, folk noir, new wave and more.

The Awakening recently released 'Haunting', the second video from the album. 'Haunting' has already amassed over 400,000 views in 3 weeks, following the first single 'Mirror Midnight', which has surpassed 1.2 million views. The videos for both come in his trademark black-and-white format, a rich and dark indication of The Awakening's return to its dark roots.

"'Haunting' is a celebration of old-school Gothic Rock, with a suitable dose of Post-Punk swagger and a wink at the camera. It's probably the most whimsical song on the album and one I greatly look forward to playing live later this year", says frontman Ashton Nyte. "I wanted the video to capture some campy Horror B-Movie goodness, and I am very happy with the result," says Ashton Nyte.

"After the intensity and social commentary of 'Mirror Midnight', it was a lot of fun to create a video on the other side of the spectrum. It is best enjoyed at very high volume!"

'The Awakening' follows Ashton Nyte's second book and eighth solo album 'Autumn's Children', which was selected as one of American Songwriter's Top 17 Albums of 2023. This new album is a celebration of the band's roots and influences. The last two Awakening albums were departures, with 'This Alchemy' (2021) exploring the electronic side of his musical personality, and 'The Passage Remains' (2022) including his previously-unreleased heavier material.

Ashton Nyte is a core contributor to LA-based supergroup Beauty In Chaos, involved with every album released to date, including the latest 'Dancing With Angels' and 'Signs in the Heavens Reality Upside Down'. Nyte has collaborated with members of The Cure, The Mission, Tricky, Peter Murphy's band and All About Eve.

Having toured extensively and headlined music festivals in the USA, Europe, and South Africa to upwards of 30,000 people, Nyte has also written and performed in theatrical productions and hosted philanthropic events, including his “Rock Against Rape” concert series. He has also presented a lecture series at US universities focusing on tolerance and acceptance. Nyte is also an author and actor.

With a catalogue of over 300 songs, Ashton Nyte and The Awakening have enjoyed airplay and chart success worldwide, with songs featured in popular TV shows like 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' and 'The Purge'. Nyte has contributed to several scores, working with composer Ethan Gold for 'Don't Let Go' (premiering at the Sundance Film Festival) and 'Pale Horse', directed by the late Pearry Teo.

'The Awakening' album is out now on vinyl, CD, digitally and limited-edition formats. It can be found on Spotify and other digital platforms, and can be ordered directly from the artist.  The Awakening will announce more dates for the 'Haunting Tour 2025' with shows in the UK, Mexico and Spain are rumoured to be added soon.  Tickets are available at  www.theawakening.com/live

Goth rock act THE AWAKENING releases eponymous 12th album. Watch the video for 'Mirror Midnight'

Gothic Rock / Darkwave act The Awakening brings their 12th album of uniquely-painted flavour of gothic rock to the masses, releasing their self-titled album via Intervention Arts on vinyl, CD, digitally and various limited-edition formats. Previewed by the lead track 'Mirror Midnight', the video for which surpassed 230,000 views in its first month, this music has recently been featured in such notable publications as American Songwriter, Sonic Seducer, Orkus Magazine and Post-Punk.com.

'The Awakening' album follows Nyte's second book and eighth solo album 'Autumn's Children', which was selected as one of American Songwriter's Top 17 Albums of 2023. This new album is a celebration of the band's roots and influences. The lead track 'Mirror Midnight' underscores the historical tendency towards self-obsession and the media's recurring manipulation of self-perception. Nyte shot the video in his preferred black-and-white format with a gothic film noir treatment.

"Essentially, I fell in love all over again with the bands and albums that made me want to create this sort of art in the first place. It was a true joy to create this work," says Ashton Nyte.

"The last two Awakening albums were departures for me. 'This Alchemy' (2021) explored the more electronic side of my musical personality, and 'The Passage Remains' (2022) effectively cleared out the vaults of unreleased heavier material. It feels like it's time to come home."

A core contributor to LA-based supergroup Beauty In Chaos, having been involved with every album released to date, Nyte has collaborated with members of The Cure, The Mission, Tricky, All About Eve, as well as Peter Murphy's band. 2024 also saw Nyte involved in the latest Beauty In Chaos album 'Dancing With Angels'.

With a catalogue of over 300 released original songs, Ashton Nyte and The Awakening have enjoyed airplay and chart success on radio stations worldwide, with songs featured in popular television shows like 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' and 'The Purge'. Nyte is also an author and actor

'The Awakening' album is out now, available on Spotify and other digital platforms, and can be ordered directly from the artist in all formats. Returning to Europe for the first time since his 2019 tour with The Mission's Wayne Hussey, Ashton Nyte's Solo Acoustic Tour Part 2 kicks off in Germany next week. Tickets are available via The Awakening's official site.

Ashton Nyte shares The Awakening's new single 'Mirror Midnight' (from 12th album) ahead of EU-UK tour

Gothic Rock / Darkwave act The Awakening shares their new single 'Mirror Midnight', which underscores historical tendency towards self-obsession and the media's recurring manipulation of self-perception. This is the first taste of their self-titled album (their 12th to date), which will be released on October 18 via Intervention Arts.

Now based in the USA, The Awakening is a dark musical project formed in Johannesburg, South Africa in the late ’90s as the creative expression of vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ashton Nyte, who was anointed as "Johannesburg's Bowie" for his widely varying musical styles and theatrical performances. Having morphed over the years, The Awakening's sound incorporates numerous genres, including gothic rock, darkwave, post-punk, electronic rock, folk noir, new wave and more.

Also an author, actor and Renaissance man of sorts, Ashton Nyte created the 'Mirror Midnight' video, shot in his preferred black-and-white format, with a gothic noir film treatment.

"Mirror Midnight is about the obsession of the self, as guided and fed and manipulated by mass media, social media and the endless flood of information and disinformation we all deal with constantly. It's the juxtaposition of succumbing to insidious and divisive marketing while the world goes up in flames. And how that cycle feeds itself. It's a story almost as old as time, like the fairy tale it alludes to," says Ashton Nyte.

'The Awakening' album follows Nyte's second book and eighth solo album 'Autumn's Children', which was selected as one of American Songwriter's Top 17 Albums of 2023. This new album is a celebration of the band's roots and influences. He has also presented a lecture series at US universities focusing on tolerance and acceptance.

With a catalogue of over 300 released original songs, Ashton Nyte and The Awakening have enjoyed airplay and chart success on radio stations worldwide, with songs also featured in popular television shows, such as 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' and 'The Purge'. Nyte has contributed to several scores, working with composer Ethan Gold for the movie 'Don't Let Go' (premiering at the Sundance Film Festival) and for the movie 'Pale Horse', directed by the late Pearry Teo.

As of September 4, 'Mirror Midnight' can be downloaded from fine music platforms. 'The Awakening' album, now available for pre-order, will be released on vinyl, CD, digitally and various limited-edition formats.

From the end of September, EU and UK fans can hear the new material live in a career-spanning solo acoustic tour later this year. This will be Nyte's first post-Covid tour, following a 36-date EU tour with The Mission's Wayne Hussey in 2019. Tickets are available via The Awakening's official site.

MIND INCISION Releases New Single, "The Awakening"!

Metal MIND INCISION has released their newest single, "The Awakening." Continuing their socially responsible themes, "The Awakening" addresses the often ignored and misunderstood landscape of teen and adolescent mental health and suicide risk, and will be accompanied by a new music video set to release in October.

Produced by DAVE OTERO at FLATLINE AUDIO, "The Awakening" is a sonic journey into the depths of consciousness, exploring themes of self-discovery and transformation that are universal. Mind Incision's signature blend of intricate melodies, haunting vocals, and immersive production creates an emotional landscape that is both evocative and inspiring. This release reaffirms the band's commitment to pushing the boundaries of their genre and delivering music that resonates on a profound level.

“'The Awakening' is written for the youth of the 21st century and also written for the prevention of teen suicide. It’s important for us to recognize that our children are living through an immense amount of pressure, bullying, and issues that they should never feel alone dealing with. I brings us a tremendous amount of pride to be able to bring these issues to light, with our new single, and follow it up with a video which touches on these subjects in the most real way possible. Furthermore, we would like to thank everyone that has been a part in the creation of this song, and it’s video, which we expect to release in the coming weeks.

They are NOT alone!” - Jason (Lead Vocals)

Purchase / Stream "The Awakening" Online

The band has also announced the addition of bassist JOEL KARSCHNER, bringing a fresh wave of energy and talent to the group. Replacing the talented AEON CRUZ, who is pursuing her own new opportunities, KARSCHNER comes with an impressive musical background, having previously played with THE CRIMSON RED. The band's decision to welcome KARSCHNER was driven by a shared musical vision and an undeniable chemistry that promises to elevate MIND INCISION'S music to new heights.

“Joel is a great addition to our band! We have known each other for so many years now I was wondering if we would ever run into each other again in the industry. Traditionally, Joel has always played guitar but when we approached him with the idea of doing bass and backing vocals it seemed to spark his interest. We gave him a couple songs and he was really into it, so he came to rehearsal and solidified the deal.” - JASON

“I’ve been out of the music game for a little while now, since TCR actually, but when Jason approached me after running into him at the Mudvayne, Coal Chamber show, I thought I’d give everything a listen and go from there. Once I heard the music and saw what Mind Incision was writing, I knew I wanted to be a part of what they were doing, and knowing I could lend another hand in writing amazing tunes with these guys, I was sure I’d be a good fit, and obviously they agreed!” - JOEL

"It isn’t that there was any bad blood with our former bass player Aeon Cruz, we are all on good terms. But we thought it best to part ways as she seems to be excelling in entertainment through acting. We wish her all the best!" - JASON

After releasing their digital EP We Are Nøt Okay in early 2021, rising German-Austrian nu-metal stars OCEANS recently unveiled their new digital single "Sulfur" via Nuclear Blast.

Today, they return with yet another pummeling, driving, yet melodic and most of all melancholic anthem, titled "The Awakening". The single comes with a beautiful music video that you can watch below.
Get the single digitally here: https://oceans.bfan.link/the-awakening

Timo Rotten comments: “’The Awakening’ is a love letter to the people who are here for us at our darkest. At that moment when you hit rock bottom and fall into the void of nothingness. No hope, no light, just emptiness. But then someone reaches out and pulls you out of this misery. We want to thank you. You know who you are!”

"The Awakening" is part of the digital EP Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: Love, which will be released on January 14th.

And then sometimes, things are being thrown at each other that shouldn’t have been said… words that sting like knives. This is where love burns like sulfur.”

Vampires Everywhere were conceptualized in early 2010 by Michael Orlando later known as Michael Vampire. The band started its journey in Hollywood, CA-based on the idea of bringing a fresh feel to an already saturated metalcore market. Michael has been obsessed with the 1987 cult classic film "The Lost Boys" since age 13 and wanted to start a band around his love for the movie and his passion for rock music. The band quickly gained notoriety in 2010 with their debut music video for "Immortal Love" which hit half a million views and landed on the iconic MTV Headbangers Ball. A few months later VE was signed to Century Media Records and toured with Black Veil Brides on the Hot Topic Tour around the United States. The band also landed an opening spot for X Japan's first North American run playing for over 5,000 people a night and to this day is the only band to open for X Japan in the US. After an amazing run on the 2012 Warped Tour, the band was asked by Kevin Lyman to headline Rob Zombie's Great Adventure in Pomona, CA. Vampires Everywhere have since toured with the likes of Motionless In White, AIDEN, Alesana, Orgy, Filter, Falling In Reverse, and countless others. Stay tuned for more Vampires Everywhere news coming soon.

"The Hills" (The Weeknd Cover)

Las Vegas-based horror rockers Vampires Everywhere have today released their long-awaited EP, 'The Awakening' (out via Cleopatra Records). In celebration of the new EP, the band has also dropped the music video for their interpretation of The Weeknd's hit single "The Hills". Leading up to release day, Vampires Everywhere have shared tracks "WITCH", resurrecting the band from a 5-year hiatus, and most recently "Death Of Me". Not only that, but the band kicks off their US tour today and has also announced that their fans across the pond will have the opportunity to see them in London in April 2022. Speaking on today's news, frontman Michael Vampire comments:

"It's absolutely insane to me that I'm releasing another piece of work under the Vampires Everywhere moniker! It's such an amazing feeling bringing this band back full circle and bringing it back strong. The idea of ending the hiatus dawned on me about a year ago. It's been such a mindfuck putting all the pieces back together and for all intents and purposes, starting from scratch. The music industry is a fickle entity that must be approached with intensity and extreme vigilance, which I think we approached this comeback with all of those elements. It's with great happiness that we release "The Awakening", which I feel is a fresh but nostalgic body of work that represents VE 3.0. Self-produced by me and Craig Pirtle, this EP is personal and not dated! We wanted an album that would pull at the heartstrings of the new wave of rock but still pledge its undying loyalty to the VE fans that helped shape the band over the last 11 years. I think Matt Good did a great job mixing it! He fit us in right before he started recording Asking Alexandria. Big thanks to Matt for making that happen.

I am a giant The Weeknd fan! I've been captivated by this artist for quite some time and I knew I would eventually cover one of his songs. I think "The Hills" was a perfect choice for my voice. The lyrics really speak to me. We wanted to maintain the beauty of the original song but also bring heavy vibes to it. I believe we absolutely did this song justice and hope The Weeknd ends up hearing it! I recruited Randy Edwards, who did our last 4 music videos to come out to Los Angeles and bring my vision to life. I didn't want a storyline for this particular video and wanted the performance to speak for itself. Unfortunately, we shot in a warehouse space that was 100 degrees the whole time, but we still managed to kick some ass and bring this video to life!

It's been 6 years since we hit the road with Filter and Orgy. I thought that would be our last voyage into the abyss, however, it was only the beginning it seems. I couldn't be happier heading out with Vampires Everywhere! I believe I have an amazing lineup of artists that truly understand my vision... We are about to head out on a 30 day run taking us through the entire United States! Stoked to be doing that with our friends in Assuming We Survive, The Bunny The Bear, and Fate Destroyed. I am also beyond excited to announce Vampires Everywhere is finally heading overseas to the United Kingdom to play The Underworld in London! It’s been 11 years in the making and I feel the timing is perfect. Tickets are on sale now!"

The band is beyond excited for its new chapter in 2021 signing with iconic Los Angeles-based record label Cleopatra Records. Stay tuned for more Vampires Everywhere news coming soon.
