Gideon Announce Signing With Sumerian Records + Drops New Track "Til the Wheels Fall Off"

Tuscaloosa, Alabama quartet Gideon have today announced signing with their new label home, Sumerian Records. In celebration of the news, the band released their new banger "Til the Wheels Fall Off" with an official music video coming soon. When asked about the signing and new music, the band commented:

"We’ve always done things our way, and Sumerian Records believed in the vision. This song is a tribute to the miles behind us and the road ahead. We’re not here for a pit stop—we’re here to break the speedometer. With Sumerian in the passenger seat, we’re going ‘Til the Wheels Fall Off.’"

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild has today unleashed their powerful new track "Omens" and the accompanying visualizer, with an official music video to follow (via Sumerian Records). When asked about the track, Jylshared:

"The song’s animated video delves into the heartbreaking journey of losing someone deeply cherished and the emotional turmoil that follows. It begins with a raw expression of grief and loss of purpose in one’s life, consequently, the protagonist's color palette is darker in the intro. As the song unfolds, it moves through various stages of mourning—loneliness, longing, sadness and the haunting feeling of absence i.e. feeling in-complete. There are also moments of reflection, where the protagonist recalls fond memories, trying to hold on to the love that once was, but slowly realizing that they must let go in order to move on. The video also touches on the feelings of helplessness, questioning if there was more that could have been done. As the song progresses, a sense of acceptance begins to emerge. The protagonist starts to understand that healing isn't linear, and that while the pain may never completely fade, it's possible to find peace in the midst of loss. The song closes on a bittersweet note, suggesting that while the person may no longer be physically present, their memory will continue to live on, offering a sense of solace. The protagonist's color palette becomes vibrant towards the outro, suggesting a sense of resolve to their former "in-complete" self.

While the lyrics and video depict the loss of a loved one, they are also meant to be interpreted in a more general sense: "To truly live is to embrace the full spectrum of life, knowing that even pain has its place in shaping who we are and without sadness, joy loses its depth and without hardship, triumph feels hollow."

Ash Avildsen grew up in a single-parent household, never having met his father but knowing who he was and having his last name. Sumerian Records Announce 'American Psycho' Comic Series Soundtrack Out October 25

Sumerian Records have today announced the upcoming full release of the 'American Psycho' Comic Series Soundtrack as well as the hardback graphic novel out on Friday, October 25. When the universe aligns, magic happens. This was certainly the case when Shavo Odadjian, the legendary bass player of System of a Down, crossed paths with platinum-selling producer, songwriter and guitarist, Morgoth at a party on 2.22.22. Their initial sessions were a spontaneous combustion of creativity, transforming from a potential solo venture into a full-fledged band. “We wrote a song right away. It wasn’t like any writing session I had been part of before, riffs were just flowing out of me without me even having to try. Every time I felt like I couldn't write anything. Morgoth would hand me a guitar and say, “go, go, go”. I needed that, you know? I needed someone to push me when I wasn't pushing myself. ” Shavo recalls. As music continued to pour out in torrents, with Shavo writing and performing all the guitar and bass parts and Morgoth producing and providing the beats, atmospherics and FX, Morgoth suggested they turn it into a Shavo solo project. However, with his eye now firmly set on the live arena, Shavo decided to create a full band.

Finding the right vocal talent to compliment the musical landscape created by Shavo and Morgoth was crucial. Morgoth’s recommendation of Taylor Barber from Left to Suffer was a game-changer. Shavo was blown away: “He was singing in falsetto one minute and growling the next—it was ridiculous. He became the singer because he knocked every song out of the park.” With Shavo on bass and Morgoth on guitar, the band also brought in Morthgoth’s Winds Of Plague band mate, Josh Johnson on drums and Alejandro Aranda, known for his solo project Scarypoolparty and as runner-up on American Idol, as lead guitarist and backing vocalist.

Once the new music was complete, mixed by Zach Jones and mastered by Maor Applebaum, Shavo partnered with Ash Avildsen,founder and CEO of Sumerian Music Group to create the brand new joint label venture 1336 Records, with Seven Hours After Violet being the first singing.

Charlotte Sands isn’t afraid to speak or play loud. In November of 2020, she leaked a song called "Dress" that she wrote about Harry Styles wearing a dress on the cover of Vogue. Within hours, the song became an anthem of self-expression for thousands (now, millions) of listeners across the globe.

Vocalist Rok Rupnik delves into the inspiration behind the track, sharing, “Before I even started writing lyrics, I’ve listened to the song a couple of times and immediately knew the final words of the chorus would be 'Demon Child,' which also ended up being the title of our second single. The lyrics dive into the nature of a love-hate relationship, where one would rather embrace a passionate turmoil over a mundane life.”

This time we went with a fast-paced song built around a catchy singalong chorus with a blegh breakdown as a cherry on top. The only funny thing about this song is the fact that it was supposed to be without a breakdown, but while we were in the studio tracking the song, we found a place for it at the last minute and we think it works really well.”

About Within Destruction

Within Destruction are an innovative metal group from Slovenia. They have been disrupting the deathcore and metalcore scenes since their formation in 2010. Seven Hours After Violet is the the groundbreaking new project from Shavo Odadjian featuring Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer), Morgoth(platinum-selling producer and guitarist of Winds of Plague), Alejandro Aranda (Scarypoolparty, American Idol) and Josh Johnson(Winds of Plague). About Seven Hours After Violet

When the universe aligns, magic happens. This was certainly the case when Shavo Odadjian, the legendary bass player of System of a Down, crossed paths with platinum-selling producer, songwriter and guitarist, Morgoth at a party on 2.22.22. Their initial sessions were a spontaneous combustion of creativity, transforming from a potential solo venture into a full-fledged band. “We wrote a song right away. It wasn’t like any writing session I had been part of before, riffs were just flowing out of me without me even having to try. Every time I felt like I couldn't write anything. Morgoth would hand me a guitar and say, “go, go, go”. I needed that, you know? I needed someone to push me when I wasn't pushing myself. ” Shavo recalls. As music continued to pour out in torrents, with Shavo writing and performing all the guitar and bass parts and Morgoth producing and providing the beats, atmospherics and FX, Morgoth suggested they turn it into a Shavo solo project. However, with his eye now firmly set on the live arena, Shavo decided to create a full band.

Finding the right vocal talent to compliment the musical landscape created by Shavo and Morgoth was crucial. Morgoth’s recommendation of Taylor Barber from Left to Suffer was a game-changer. Shavo was blown away: “He was singing in falsetto one minute and growling the next—it was ridiculous. He became the singer because he knocked every song out of the park.” With Shavo on bass and Morgoth on guitar, the band also brought in Morthgoth’s Winds Of Plague band mate, Josh Johnson on drums and Alejandro Aranda, known for his solo project Scarypoolparty and as runner-up on American Idol, as lead guitarist and backing vocalist.

Once the new music was complete, mixed by Zach Jones and mastered by Maor Applebaum, Shavo partnered with Ash Avildsen,founder and CEO of Sumerian Music Group to create the brand new joint label venture 1336 Records, with Seven Hours After Violet being the first singing.

Garzi Unveils Brand New Single & Music Video "Drag"

Fresh from the vibrant crossroads of alternative rock and post-emo, Garzi has dropped his brand new single, "Drag" and it's accompanying music video, out now via Sumerian Records. Fans can stream the new track HERE and can watch the official music video below.

Speaking on his new track, Garzi shares

"This is a song that came very quickly to me and was such an important way for me to express my vulnerability."

Garzi's unique sound palette is a reflection of his diverse influences, drawing from the angst of punk and emo to the aggression of nu-metal and grunge, all while threading through the lyrical flow of rap. His journey from a Warped Tour devotee to a full-fledged artist is marked by his breakout hit 'Demonstrate', and collaborations with industry icons like John Feldmann, Travis Barker and Mephis May Fire's Matty Mullins.

About Garzi:

Garzi is an Alternative Rock artist who stands at the intersection's of Alt/Indie, Post Emo, Nü Metal, Grunge and Rap. His authentic gritty, angsty, yet soothing melodic voice soars over his array of stylistic tracks.

The Miami native was a self-described lover of Warped Tour and gravitated towards hard rock, punk and emo sounds like Melphis May Fire and Sleeping With Sirens. "It was a fitting soundtrack to feelings of isolation, of being an outsider during those teenage years especially as a POC punk"

In October 2017, he uploaded his first song and quit his day job the next day to pursue music full time. A slew of releases followed, culminating in his breakout, "Demonstrate" (with producers Nick Mira and Taz Taylor), which had popped off on SoundCloud and now has over 16.5 million streams on Spotify.

IN 2022 he released EP, ‘Careful What You Wish For’ which spawned tracks “Mess” (with Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens), “HELLO//GOODBYE” (produced by John Feldmann and Travis Barker) and “PARANOIA” (remix) with Fever333 and Point North.

In late 2023, Garzi announced signing to world renowned independent label, Sumerian Records and dropped stand alone single 'Growin' Up", kicking off a whole new era. He then followed up with single "Much Better" in April of this year. With "Drag" he boldly steps further into his next chapter.

Purveyors of their own genre-blurring sound "Thrash Grass", The Native Howl has breathed new life into Johnny Cash's brooding "God's Gonna Cut You Down" with their fresh reimagination of the song and accompanying music video (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the track, the band commented:

"It was a privilege to honor Johnny Cash by following Frankie Nasso’s vision for this project. This song and video have a very different tone than anything in our repertoire thus far, and the writing/arrangement process was just as unique to us. We are grateful to Jay Ruston for helping us capture the studio magic of its’ assembly, and create a new Howl soundscape, of which we are very proud!”
