MADELINE MERLO UNVEILS RAW AND PERSONAL TRACK “MAKEUP” VIA BBR MUSIC GROUP/ STONEY CREEK RECORDS

NBC’s Songland Season 2 premiere winner & 2x CCMA winning vocalist Madeline Merlo releases her most personal song to date, “Makeup.” The poignant tune questions the unchangeable nature of inherent traits, actions and viewpoints emphasizing that certain characteristics are innate, but behavior and perspective are not. Via vulnerable and introspective lyrics, "Makeup" encourages listeners to embrace their unique identity recognizing that you don't have to pass on generational flaws and trauma. Stream/download HERE.

“I started this song shortly after I left a therapy session," said Merlo. “It took me a while to realize that I am the product of two people who should have never been married. In that session, my therapist established a valid point that stuck with me that went something like, ‘So many things will be passed down to you but that doesn’t mean you have to take them.’ I went home and started stomping this out on the treadmill and before I knew it, I had a first verse and chorus.”

Merlo bares her soul with this release, addressing the complexities of relationships and the transformative power of self-acceptance. The song serves as a testament to Merlo's growth as an artist and as a person, inviting fans to connect with her on a deeply personal level. Fans can expect an accompanying music video for "Makeup," adding a visual dimension to the emotional depth of the song and promising to be a cinematic journey, further enhancing the narrative woven into the lyrics.

Having “already proven her songwriting chops” (Billboard), Merlo haslong made a career by telling big emotional stories in the span of 3 minute or so songs” (American Songwriter). Similar to her critically acclaimed label-debut EP, Slide, that scored her praise from Billboard, E! News, PopCulture, Music Row and more, Merlo continues to build her niche as a songwriter and artist, as she brings to life powerful female stories, from budding romances, to growing up and to the lessons learned in-between. “…Ready to make her name and talent known in the American country music landscape” (Country Swag), the “rising country star” (People) has a new project “Makeup,” out now, available on all streaming platforms.

About Madeline Merlo:

Award-winning songwriter and “rising Country star” (Country Now) Madeline Merlo “has long made a career by telling big emotional stories in the span of 3 minute or so songs” (American Songwriter). After scoring impressive Canadian radio play and winning the Canadian Country Music Association’s Rising Star Award (and being nominated twice for Female Artist of the Year), the “breakout talent” (American Songwriter) released a super-charged new song “Same Car” along with her spirited four-track EP Slide. Produced by Zach Crowell (Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Dustin Lynch) and backed by iridescent beats, Merlo’s collection of songs — all co-written by Merlo — deliver powerful female stories, from budding romances, to growing up, to the lessons learned in between. Winner of the season 2 premiere of the NBC songwriting reality TV series Songland, the Canadian songstress’ captivating track “Champagne Night,” recorded and released by Lady A, went on to be a three-week No. 1 song on US Country radio and earned her the 2021 Canadian Country Music Association Award for Songwriter of the Year. A captivating addition to her repertoire showcasing her authentic storytelling and powerful vocals, Merlo released “Tim + Faith” in September 2023, infused with the warm feeling of everlasting love, the melodious ode and moving tribute pays homage to 90s Country music and the devoted marriage between country music power couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Following the release of “Tim + Faith” was a sensational joint release featuring Merlo’s original track "Take a Broken Heart” and her stunning rendition of Keith Urban's iconic song, "You'll Think of Me.” The latest from Merlo is one of her most personal songs to date. The poignant tune, titled “Makeup”, delves into the emotional struggle everyone faces when they muster up the courage to embrace their full self by pushing aside the fears associated with breaking away from often inherited traits, actions and viewpoints from the generation before us.

Drake Milligan to Kick Off 2024 With New Music and More Milestones

Stoney Creek recording artist DRAKE MILLIGAN is keeping his boot on the gas as the new year begins, following a chart-topping breakout with plans for a brand new EP.

Set for release on
February 16, the pure-country hitmaker’s Jukebox Songs EP marks another bold chapter of high-energy twang. Produced by fellow Texan and traditionally-minded star, Trent Willmon, the EP will once again highlight Milligan’s smooth, booming baritone vocal, towering over four fresh tracks full of instant-classic intensity and diverse country soul...including an unforgettable heartbreak anthem. Pre-order/pre-add/pre-save HERE.

“Jukebox Songs is exactly what it sounds like," says Milligan. "My goal for this EP was to write and find songs that feel classic and memorable - the kinda tunes would fit right in on some old Rock-Ola in the corner of a smoke-filled bar on the outskirts of nowhere Texas. It’s a continuation of the old-meets-new Country sound I’ve always gone for, and this time with my friend Trent Willmon at the reins as producer, I’m very excited to keep this honky tonk train rollin.’”

Penned by Bobby Pinson, Matt Rogers & Ben Stennis, “
Don’t Leave Me Loving You” is a timeless, classic-country style ballad, aching and built on a still-tender emotional wound. The track places Milligan’s standout Texas baritone before a delicate, rootsy arrangement. Listen now below.

Meanwhile, Milligan will also soon return to his primetime-TV roots. He’s set to compete on NBC’s upcoming America’s Got Talent spin-off show, Fantasy League, and will also hit the road alongside Cody Johnson to open 10 dates on his 2024 U.S. arena tour.

Both build on a streak of early success, stemming from Milligan’s America’s Got Talent emergence and his breakout album debut,
DALLAS/FORT WORTH

Named “One of the Best Country Albums of 2022” by Billboard, Saving Country Music and Whiskey Riff, the project dominated iTunes upon its release, hitting #1 on both the iTunes All-Genre and Country Albums Charts, while simultaneously holding positions #1, #2, #3 and #5 on iTunes Country Video Chart and spawning back-to-back #1s on the iTunes Country Songs Chart.

Milligan went on to be named an “Artist to Watch” by CMT, Pandora and Music Mayhem, while DALLAS/FORT WORTH also landed in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Country Albums Sales Chart, leading to his new chapter.

Earlier this year, the singer-songwriter returned to America’s Got Talent to debut his current single, “I Got A Problem,” and appeared on both The Kelly Clarkson Show and the Canadian Country Music Association Awards – where he
opened the show with performance of his duet with The Reklaws "Honky Tonkin' About" (a 2023 #1 on Canadian Country Radio).

Other 2023 highlights include Milligan’s nomination for Breakthrough Male Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards, his main stage debut at Stagecoach and a standout performance at Nashville’s CMA Music Festival.

Milligan likewise made his Grand Ole Opry debut in late 2022 and has already become an Opry regular, while earning critical acclaim from USA Today, Billboard, People, Taste of Country, Parade, American Songwriter,Country Now, Saving Country Music, Country Swag and Hollywood Life, to name a few.

Milligan recently made his debut headlining date at Billy Bob’s Texas, thrilling a hometown crowd of nearly 4,000 fans (twice) and adding his hands to the famous “Wall of Fame.” He was then asked to return to headline the venue’s massive 2023 New Year’s Eve concert, capping another big year.

BBR MUSIC GROUP/STONEY CREEK RECORDS’ BRAZEN NAOMI COOKE JOHNSON TAKES THE GREAT OUTDOORS BY STORM IN EPISODE OF "COUNTRY OUTDOORS"

Stoney Creek Records hit singer/songwriter Naomi Cooke Johnson trades the stage for the great outdoors in the latest episode of the "Country Outdoors” series. The episode aired yesterday on Country Outdoors’ Facebook and YouTube channels, promising viewers a personal look into Naomi's adventurous side as she embraces the beauty of nature and the serenity of the wilderness. Watch on Facebook HERE or YouTube HERE.

“This episode and experience were something that was extremely personal to me. Being a new mother, an artist myself and outdoorswoman, I wanted to embark on this adventure with someone who would embrace it,” said Cooke Johnson.

"Country Outdoors" host Mary O’Neill Phillips expressed excitement about featuring Naomi Cooke Johnson on the show. “Learning survival skills is such a lost art (and is not for the faint of heart). Naomi took this opportunity with passion, interest and drive. She is an exceptional talent all around and we loved having her on this episode.”

“I grew up spending more time in the woods than indoors,” said Cooke Johnson. “We often slept outside under the stars because the old farmhouses we rented, when we weren't in our school bus, lacked air conditioning. The nights were much cooler and more comfortable outdoors. To this day, I dedicate most of my spare time to foraging for wild herbs and food, learning from nature. When Mary invited me to take this survival course with her, I couldn't say yes fast enough. My hope is that this experience will inspire women watching the episode to learn basic survival techniques, as it boosts confidence and self-esteem in a way nothing else can. I'm eager to do this again and acquire ancient skills, becoming a part of keeping them alive to pass down to my own children one day."

The episode not only showcases Naomi's love for the outdoors but also delves into her personal connection with the natural world. As she engages in outdoor activities, Naomi reflects on the impact of nature on her music and songwriting, providing fans with a deeper understanding of the artist's roots and creative process. As Cooke Johnson navigates the wilderness, the episode captures candid moments, showcasing the artist's authenticity and passion for adventure.

Drake Milligan Releases Fan-Demanded “I Got A Problem (Full Length)”

Stoney Creek Records recording artist DRAKE MILLIGAN is giving fans what they crave, releasing the full length, original version of his current single following a captivating return to America’s Got Talent. The newly recorded “I Got A Problem (Full Length)” is out today (11/3).

With a rich, warm vocal and a sound tipping its hat to neon-lit ‘90s romance, the track remains a heartfelt tribute to an all-consuming love – but now comes with an added layer of refinement.

Featuring a new piano intro to showcase the effortless ease of Milligan’s beyond-his-years baritone, “I Got A Problem (Full Length)” captures the track just like the rising star performed it as an America’s Got Talent guest in September – returning to the scene of his national-TV breakout last season.

The cool-and-collected performance was so riveting, it prompted host (and early believer) Simon Cowell to invite Milligan to be a part of an upcoming AGT spin-off show – and led fans to demand it be released.

Meanwhile, Milligan’s global profile continues its skyrocketing growth, with successes piling up across North America, Europe and beyond.

Mixing traditional country twang and a dose of right-now swagger, Milligan and multi-PLATINUM duo The Reklaws are currently rising up the Canadian charts with their inside the Top 10 collab single, “Honky Tonkin’ About,” earning acclaim from outlets like Billboard and even a performance at the 2023 Canadian Country Music Awards last month.

The creative partners also traveled to Romania to film a time-warp music video with a star-studded cast, enlisting Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore), Robert Knepper (Prison Break) and Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds) for a clip which premiered at the crossroads of the world on October 19, taking over CMT/Paramount’s famous Times Square billboards in New York City. Watch the video HERE.

Meanwhile, Milligan has already performed over 100 U.S. shows this year, and will keep the throttle pinned as the calendar flips, opening for fellow Texan Cody Johnson in 2024,  along with an extensive headlining tour of the U.S.

As for the rest of this year, he’ll first head to Canada for four snowy shows in December, and will then close out the year with a hometown bang, set to rock the World’s Largest Honky Tonk – Billy Bob’s Fort Worth – on New Years Eve, marking the third time this year he has sold out the venue.

From there, he’ll fly to Europe for six shows including stops in Germany, TheNetherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and the U.K., and Milligan already has two international festivals on tap for 2024. He’s booked for big-time appearances in Australia (CMC Rocks QLD 2024 – March 15) and Norway (Den Forvitnelege Countryfestivalen 2024 – July 27).

It all follows the acclaimed release of Milligan’s 2022 album debut, Dallas/FortWorth, and looking ahead, fans can expect all new music in 2024.

Listen now HERE.

“This song is a perfect glimpse into the lenses in which I view life. To make my way through life I have had to take massive chances and risks, some of which have brought me to very scary places where thelessons were intense and the growth was painful,” said Cooke Johnson. “My brushes with danger, and even death, have made me want to live my life how I want to live it and on my terms with a sort of ‘is that all you got?’ attitude. If there is one thing I’m sure of, it’s that this all comes to an end for every single one of us and I want to feel alive while I am alive. I hope you love ‘Livin’ Ain’t Killed Me Yet.’”

Co-written by Naomi Cooke Johnson alongside Phil Bentley and producer Dan Muckala, “Livin’ Ain’t Killed Me Yet” is a scorching celebration of carefree fun with a chosen family of friends.

Watch below

The release of “Livin’ Ain’t Killed Me Yet” follows Cooke Johnson’s first offering of music in her solo catalog, “Girls of Summer.” Never resting on her laurels and teeming with a wanderlust for life and its stories, she’s anchored a career sharing songs that chronicle her childhood years of homeschooling and living on a renovated school bus to her current life as a working mom with a new baby balancing a recording artist’s schedule.
