Return to Dust Release New Music Video For "Black Road"

The Los Angeles-based rock trio, Return to Dust, have today released their debut single, "Black Road" alongside a dynamic music video directed by Matt Akana. Fans can stream "Black Road" here. Fans can also watch the brand new video for "Black Road" below.

Speaking on today's news, co-vocalists Matty Joseph and Graham Stanush share:

"I feel like Black Road paints the perfect picture for what we wanted this project (RETURN TO DUST) to start as: this bright/exciting thing in front of us, but also a snapshot that captures such a dark scope our lives. And it’s extremely exciting to have this song, and many more, be actualized as an extension of our growing pains, our jaded youth, our bitter adolescence, and our continual grinding push to adulthood."

Return to Dust, who are heavily inspired by the legendary Alice In Chains, have already cultivated a reputation in the local Los Angeles music scene without having released any music on streaming platforms. The release of "Black Road" marks the band's first ever studio release, produced by none other than Jim Kaufman (Anti-Flag, Danny Worsnop, Night Riots, Helmet). With their remarkable cinematic approach, the rock trio are on track for an unforgettable year of touring and new music. Be sure to stay tuned for more Return to Dust news coming soon.

Los Angeles fans also have the chance to see Return to Dust LIVE at DBA256 on Saturday, April 29th.

Support comes from local metal favorites - Apolloson, Hexengarten, and Thredge.

Not only is Saturday's show completely free for 21+ fans, but this will also be the live debut of Return to Dust's brand new single, "Black Road."

Don't miss your chance to see the band perform "Black Road" live, alongside other unreleased music!

ABOUT RETURN TO DUST

How will you fare against the stress of life

Return to Dust has always felt like a hidden gem, a band that could have fallen straight from the 90’s, but stands proudly among the musical landscape of today. This is perhaps a gesture towards the timelessness of grunge’s existential yet relatable message, which spoke to and landed them 30+ recordings with decorated producer and mixer Jim Kaufman.

Despite this trajectory, the band had fallen into one of the myriad of “new band” curses, which is meticulously and quietly planning out their debut release. Thankfully, the band committed to their craft long before showing their faces, as singers Graham Stanush (bass) and Matty Joseph (guitar) formed an eternal bond growing up in the cement capital of Texas. The singers carried this passion to the west coast, where they met their then 16 year old guitarist Sebastian Gonzalez.

Now assimilated, Return to Dust has already made its mark, touring up and down the west coast, playing Vegas, Phoenix, every slummy bar in San Gabriel Valley, and personally gaining a stamp of approval from Matt Pinfield on KLOS —- the band is a ticking time bomb to hundreds of eager fans.

Their new single Black Road'' is a four on the floor heavy rock anthem about self-sacrifice, and forging your own path, released on all platforms April 27th

Iodine to Re-Release There Were Wires' Self-Titled Debut For First Time on Vinyl

IODINE RECORDINGS will be re-releasing There Were Wires' self-titled debut on Friday, May 12. It marks the first time the classic and influential record will be available in 20 years. It's also the first time it will be released on vinyl.

The pre-order is now live here.

Listen to the 2023 God City remixed/remastered version of "Lukewarm Happybelow.

Unlikely but overwilling, the embryonic form of Boston's There Were Wires traversed every basement, rec hall, and dive club in the city to blow out speakers and vocal chords alike with their explosive brand of hardcore punk. Their blend of harshly emotive dissonance and punchy, anthemic songs pulled inspiration from bands like Converge, Portraits of Past, and Unbroken. Though it's true that TWW live shows were a powder keg of chaos, the true gooey center of the band revealed an honest vulnerability that belied the tough crowd of contemporaries, which gained them a small but devoted cult following in the New England scene. The band's debut self titled LP is being pressed for the first time on vinyl and has been completely remixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at God City Studios, and includes several out of print B-Sides and the band's 1999 demo. It will be available on two limited color variants! Members of TWW went on to form Disappearer, Doomriders, and No Flowers.

The band will be playing a pair of reunion shows this spring, marking their first live appearances in almost 18 years.

ENTER SHIKARI Announce New Album; 'A Kiss For The Whole World". Drop New Single "(pls) set me on fire"

Enter Shikari have also announced a run of very special album release shows across UK, Europe and the US today. One week priority access to ticket pre-sales will be available to fans pre-ordering the album and current members of Future Historians, the band's fan club. General on-sale for remaining tickets will begin on Thursday, January 26th.

For full dates, info and tickets head to www.entershikari.com

Enter Shikari are today announcing that their highly anticipated new album, A Kiss For The Whole World, will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. The band are also sharing the album’s lead single ‘(pls) set me on fire’ as well as news of some very special monthly residency shows in the UK this Spring. Listen to ‘(pls) set me on fire’ below and pre-order A Kiss For The Whole World here

Limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3 album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

As the calendar now signals three years since Enter Shikari last released an album - their UK #2 charting album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible – it is useful to think back to the final question the band last posed fans: “Is this a new beginning? / Or are we close to the end?” Little could they know just how close to the end things would end up feeling as the events of the early ‘20s dimmed the light in the furnace of their live juggernaut, and connection to their fans. “At the time it felt like we ourselves, as musicians, were experiencing the death of our band,” says lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds.

Unsurprisingly, the key in the band’s ignition came in the form of a live show as they headlined the Download Festival Pilot in front of 10,000 fans. Where not a single new word flowed from the pen of Reynolds in the two years prior, a realisation was born that would come to define the band’s seventh LP: “I just didn’t realise that the human and physical connection to other people were so central to how I write,” he says. Enter Shikari isn’t just four people – it’s hundreds of thousands.

As new single ‘(pls) set me on fire’ heralds the next stage in the band’s evolution, the first words we hear from Enter Shikari 2.0 don’t come in the form of a question this time, but a command: “Please set me on fire”. In other words, ignite the spark inside us and set us free. This may be a new Enter Shikari but they’ve lost nothing in their flair for bold opening gambits.

Reynolds comments on the single’s conception:

"Honestly, I thought I was f*****. I’ve never felt so detached from my soul, my purpose, my f****** spirit. I didn’t write music for almost two years. The longest I’d gone before that was two weeks. I was broken. It’s almost as if my brain had asked: “What is the point in music if it cannot be shared? What is the point in writing music if it’s not to be experienced with others?” and then promptly switched itself off. ‘(pls) set me on fire’ grew out of that desperation. This song is a projectile vomit of positive energy. Every emotion trapped inside me for two years, finally set free.”

It was in the Spring of 2022 that the band descended to the coastal town of Chichester, and a delapidated farmhouse, to rebuild their studio setup and capture their renewed momentum on record. Using only solar power to track the album – in what Reynolds says was to “bring back some sense of naivety” – the life-giving properties and Technicolor palate of A Kiss For The Whole World were made real. Reynolds continues:

“Back to basics. This band - my best friends - bundled into an old farmhouse, miles away from anywhere. Off-grid, and ready to rediscover ourselves. This album is powered by the sun, the most powerful object in our solar system. And I think you can tell. It’s a collection of songs that represent an explosive reconnection with what Enter Shikari is. The beginning of our second act”.

LIGHT OF DAY WINTERFEST 2023 AND UPCOMING SELLERSVILLE, PA SHOW!

Singer/Songwriter Julia Poorman Releases New Single "Already Got It" + Official Music Video

Stream "Already Got It":

https://ffm.to/juliapoorman

Singer/songwriter Julia Poorman released her newest single "Already Got It" to all major platforms. The lyrics and music were written by Julia Poorman and Danny Roselle (The Mylars). The single was produced and mixed by Danny Roselle at Lakehouse Studios in Asbury Park, NJ with additional recording at Rosedome Studios in Summit, NJ. It was engineered by Nick Semanchik and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper.

The video was shot in Deal, NJ (the beach scenes) and in downtown Asbury Park. The bakery scene was filmed at Confections of A Rockstar. It was directed/edited by Steven Nathan and produced by Art in the Chaos.

"This song was born during a bike ride through an idyllic neighborhood. The stark contrast of my life compared to the picturesque extravagance really exacerbated my sense of lack. I have always struggled with looking outside of myself for approval and happiness. During an introspective search to find my center, these lyrics repeated in my head like a mantra. 'All we ever want, we already got' and the rest flowed pretty easily. I hope this song resonates with you and unveils or confirms your sense of worthiness and abundance as true peace always comes from within," says Julia.

Writing songs has always been second nature to Julia. As a young girl living in New York's Finger Lakes Region, her little poems could be found stuffed in her night stand expectantly waiting for melodies to bring them to life. As soon as she'd pick up the paper, the music would come flowing out and a song would be born.

Throughout her youth, music served as a reliable and cathartic outlet for Julia. To her, it's an entire dimension filled with comradery, boundless expression, and healing.

As a young adult, Julia took a brief step back from her musical endeavors to help build a business and life with her fiance. Navigating the world as an entrepreneur brought many rewarding opportunities for growth and unforgettable experiences, but she was left feeling a void in her creative nature.

In 2021, Julia unexpectedly lost her father. One of the last text messages he sent her was a photo of him listening to her original self-titled EP from 2012. She knew she needed to get back to her roots to begin to heal. Music became a necessary therapy again, and the melodies and lyrics just didn't stop.

Julia now feels the importance of creating music that puts people in their own flow state, a vibrational catalyst for self-exploration and healing. Her passion reclaimed, she feels as though this is just the beginning.

Elle King Releases Tyler Childers’ “Jersey Giant”

ELLE KING RELEASES TYLER CHILDERS’ “JERSEY GIANT”

King to Open for Childers at Radio City Music Hall August 2 & 3, 2023

Award winning, singer-songwriter Elle King is dropping “Jersey Giant,” a never-before-released song by acclaimed artist Tyler Childers. “Jersey Giant,” is available here: EK.lnk.to/JerseyGiant.

“Tyler Childers is not too far from where my family lives and he’s a legend,” said King. “The life of a song is something so beautiful to me, and country music has taught me to see that the opportunity to sing a song written by someone else, is nothing short of a gift, a blessing. When you hear a song and say ‘I wish I wrote that’ you know it’s a good’n. I was humbled and so excited that Tyler gave his song to me. I tried to blend the two worlds of honoring traditional bluegrass and what country music is to me. Thank you, Tyler, for your music, and thank you for entrusting me with this gift. I’m so excited for everyone to hear it.”

“I wrote ‘Jersey Giant’ over ten years ago and only performed it for a short period of time,” said Childers. “I was pleased with how it turned out structurally (it even has a bridge, which is rare for me), but I was over performing it pretty fast. I reckon that’s just how songs go sometimes. They can be like that coat you saw and had to have, only to get it home and think, ‘Why gah, I ain’t never gonna wear this thing.’ Or, one that you got from an ex which you would rather just toss out. But that’s not saying anything against the coat, it just doesn’t fit me anymore and hasn’t for some time. I’m super excited that Ms. King has dusted this old song off and given it a new life. I’m extremely grateful for her seeing the potential in this tune and wish her the best out there on the road. Break a leg Elle! And stay warm.”

King, who provides lead and background vocals and is featured on acoustic guitar, co-produced the track with award-winning, singer-writer and multi-instrumentalist and reigning ACM Acoustic Guitar Player of the Year, Charlie Worsham. Worsham lends his signature sound for background vocals, plus acoustic guitar, mandolin and banjo.

King will join Childers on his 2023 Send in the Hounds Tour at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on August 2 and 3.

King is set to release her new album Come Get Your Wife, on January 27. The record includes her current single, “Worth A Shot” (feat. Dierks Bentley), which hit No. 1 this past weekend on SiriusXM’s, The Highway Hot 30 Countdown.

Other tracks already available from the new record are the feisty “Try Jesus,” “Out Yonder,” and “Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Go Home),” with Miranda Lambert. “Drunk” became the first woman-woman collaboration to reach the top-spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart since Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ “Does He Love You,” in 1993.

Candy Coffins present post-punk delight on 'Everyday a Fresh Atrocity', previewing loaded new LP

"A compelling example of the band at their considerable best, walking a fine-tuned line between darkness and the silver-lining of new romanticism. Haunting with loads of energy, this song boasts some impressive guitar work and, of course, excellence in frontman Jame Lathren's nervous, edgy vocal delivery" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Post-punk new romantics Candy Coffins have announced they will release a new album in October. Entitled 'Once Do It With Feeling', this 10-track offering comes two years after the band's latest 'Somehow Misplaced' EP.

Ahead of this, the band presents 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity', the first taster of this stunning album. Candy Coffins provides current fans a needed fix while also presenting much to pique the interest of new listeners.

"The song 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' explores the dark corners where our work often resides, both sonically and lyrically. It conveys the feeling of the haunting suffocation of a broken relationship, compounded by a reality that seems to become more dystopian each day," says frontman-songwriter Jame Lathren.

"The full album chronicles a relationship from the onset of the first crack to its complete crumbling dissolution. All the feelings and emotions of tumult are captured here, from both persons’ perspectives."

This album showcases mature strides in songwriting, the band relating the themes addressed both confidently and cohesively. Emotionally and sonically saturated, their music boasts Cure-esque textures and melody, as well as the thematic elements and visceral delivery of The Afghan Whigs.

Based in Columbia, South Carolina, vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Jame Lathrenformed Candy Coffins in 2018. A small-town boy with admiration for artists who were not on popular radio, Jame Lathren had a rich youthful experience as a cultural outcast. His resilience, sensitivity and hyper-awareness of his emotional state would ultimately permeate his own music, getting right to the heart of the emotions surrounding the human condition.

After disbanding his previous post-punk band Crown The Cake, he formed Candy Coffins with hometown guitar legend Tom Alewine (Bachelors of Art), followed by seasoned music scene veterans Alex Mabrey on bass and Justin Purdy on keys, and former Iron & Wine touring drummer Jonathan Bradley. Their dynamic and textured approach has contributed to the band's trademark lush sound, channeling and bolstering Lathren’s emotive songwriting and delivery.

With tasteful nods to Joy Division, The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs, The Afghan Whigs and The Cult, as well as contemporaries like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Interpol, Candy Coffins’ sound is dark and emotionally restless, but with elements of hope and elation. Defiantly unique, their sound is a welcome respite from musical mediocrity.

As of August 23, 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' will be out everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the 'Once Do It With Feeling' LP is already available for pre-order. It will be released on October 21.

YELAWOLF & SHOOTER JENNINGS INTRODUCE SOMETIMES Y
November 17 at 7:30pm CT

“The first time Yelawolf and I connected on a track, it was like this fire exploded in my mind,” says Shooter Jennings. “It confirmed my long-held suspicion that there was something really special between the two of us.” Special, it turns out, is a serious understatement when it comes to Jennings and Yelawolf’s extraordinary new collaboration, Sometimes Y. Recorded in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the duo’s self-titled debut is a bold and intoxicating rock and roll hybrid, one that fuses past and future sounds to conjure up some alternate universe where David Bowie fronted Thin Lizzy or Axl Rose sang with The Cars. The songs here are as addictive as they are unpredictable, mixing ’80s bombast and arena rock energy with country earnestness and hip-hop swagger, and the performances are thrilling to match, fueled by the pair’s undeniable chemistry and irrepressible joy. Jennings’ production work is lush but never crowded, and Yelawolf’s lyrics are utterly arresting, grappling insightfully with purpose and perseverance, struggle and triumph, pain and transcendence. Weighty as the record can feel at times, it’s ultimately a work of liberation and release, an ecstatic declaration of creative freedom fueled by adventure, discovery, and a little bit of chaos, which is precisely what Sometimes Y is all about.

Mr. Christmas features the classics we all know and love alongside two originals, including the title track “Mr. Christmas.” Written by Eldredge and frequent collaborator Ross Copperman, “Mr. Christmas” showcases the celebrated singer/songwriter’s “rich, smooth vocals” (Forbes) backed by orchestral strings, a warm big band sound and pops of jingle bells, giving the listener a musical wink and a nod as though from Santa himself.

ANDREW PETERSON: BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD
December 4 & 5 at 7pm CT

Join storied Nashville singer-songwriter and author Andrew Peterson as he presents the Advent song cycle Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ. Now in its 23rd year, Behold the Lamb brings the singing and playing of Peterson’s original folk-roots infused rendition of the Christmas story as it is foreshadowed in the Old Testament and brought to bear in the New.

ALLMAN FAMILY REVIVAL
December 9 at 8pm CT

The Allman Family Revival is a celebration of the life, spirit, and music of Gregg Allman, hosted by his son, Blues Music Award winning Devon Allman and anchored by his group, The Devon Allman Project. On what would have been Gregg Allman’s 70th Birthday, Devon decided to gather his talented friends to pay homage musically. Musicians that had toured with Gregg, jammed with Gregg & inspired by Gregg turned up to throw down. Legends like Robin Zander of Cheap Trick showed up, wunderkind Marcus King tore the theater down, Orbison’s were in the house … a who’s who of musical talent have taken part. Now … It’s a yearly tradition, and it’s grown from an annual celebration in San Fransisco to a full fledged coast to coast tour. Based on the format of “The Last Waltz” concert featuring up to a dozen marquee names in music, it’s an epic 3 hour show unlike any other. This year we welcome Duane Betts, Donavon Frankenreiter, Maggie Rose, Jimmy Hall, Larry McCray, Alex Orbison and The River Kittens, plus, of course, more surprises to come. Don’t miss this incredible celebration of life and music, you’ll be part of the family too.

CORY WONG
February 17 at 8pm CT

As much as he treasures his roles as a guitarist, composer, and producer, Cory Wong fashions himself “a hype man,” first and foremost. Living up to this classification, he slings a Stratocaster and hurls “dad jokes” from the stage with the same panache, poise, and power. “For me, it’s all about the listener’s experience,” he explains. “I want them to have a visceral response like: ‘I feel better,’ ‘That was really fun,’ or ‘I got to escape for an hour.’ You’ll hear my voice through the guitar, but I’m just a hype man. To uplift audiences with instrumental music that has no singing or lyrics is a fun challenge. I’m trying to solve the riddle. If I can get one person to feel good this way, it’s a success. Straight out of Minneapolis, Cory positioned himself as music’s answer to motivational speakers like Tony Robbins since emerging in 2011. Head-spinning rhythm guitar wizardry, technical ebullience, laugh-out-loud jokes, and radiance on stage established him as both a sought-after collaborator and celebrated solo artist alike. He lent his talents to television programs such as The Voice at the dawn of his career. After an impromptu meeting at the weekly jam hosted by Prince’s rhythm section (where the Purple One often either performed or watched), he crossed paths with Vulfpeck who welcomed him as a frequent collaborator and member of the band. Solidifying a fruitful partnership, the group named their most popular instrumental track “Cory Wong,” in tribute. Lighting up the stage in the band everywhere from Red Rocks Amphitheatre to Madison Square Garden, he remains a cornerstone of Vulfpeck’s storied gigs.

Worhol Releases Official Music Video For Single "Speak To Me"

Worhol is a female fronted symphonic rock band out of Texas, but some mistake them for a European band because of their overall sound and appearance. The band delivers a unique style of dark, theatrical, orchestral music that showcases Ashley Worhol’s dynamic mellifluous voice.

The band has released the official music video for their single "Speak to Me." The video was shot by the film company M5 Entertainment in collaboration with Darkstar TV and was directed by Christopher Maggard.

"Speak To Me" was written during a point in my life where I felt completely abandoned and lost. I have always been strong in my beliefs but at this point I felt like I was speaking and yet nothing was responding. I went through an emotional journey where I thought I had done something wrong which is what led to the feeling of abandonment. This song is a direct conversation between me and God and I'm begging for him to speak to me. While writing this song I finally heard and felt again and felt the need to sign this song because at that very moment words were not needed to be spoken. The guys play a very important role in this video. They represent my guardians both in the ethereal world and here on Earth, my protectors you might say. But the beauty about this song however is that it doesn't matter what or who you believe in, your race or gender, because in life we are never guaranteed happiness but each and every one of us will at some point experience pain and through that pain we are all one. We all are living this journey we call life and we are way more connected than we realize" says Ashley Worhol.

Worhol formed in 2013 when lead singer Ashley Worhol and her father Larry Worhol decided they wanted to follow their dream together as a team. Both having degrees in music and a classical background, they knew that they had the knowledge it would take in writing their style of music. Worhol’s music can be best described as symphonic and theatrical with Larry being the guitarist as well as the orchestral composer and Ashley being professionally trained as an opera singer. Since Ashley and Larry are kin to Andy Warhol they decided to keep the band name in the family. Once Worhol was set they reached out and found the rest of the members of the band; Craig Malinowski(bassist) and Marty Naul (drummer).

Worhol is based in the USA but is known globally. They released their first album, The Awakeningback in 2015 through Imminence Records and Wormhole Death publishing (europe). However, back in 2017 Worhol decided to remain an independent artist. Worhol recorded The Awakeningwith John Lecompt, former guitarist of Evanescence. Since their first album, Worhol has been touring both nationally and internationally. Their music has appeared in major magazines such as BillboardRevolver and more! They have won several awards and in 2019 their track, "The Darkness" was featured in the award winning horror film, Rosa Leigh. In 2020, both Ashley and her father released their arrangement of "Amazing Grace- My Lord, My God" while showcasing their acting skills in their short film, Amazing Grace. Their short film won "Best Original score", "Best Acting Duo", and was nominated for "Best Cinematography". They have also won "Special Mention" through 'Global Shorts', "ARFF Staff Picks" through 'ARFF Amsterdam International Film Festival'l, "June 2020 Official Selection" and "Semi-Finalist" through 'Index Film Fest Los Angeles' and are a "Finalist" in the 'New York Movie Awards'. This was just the beginning for composing opportunities because in 2021, Ashley scored the featured horror film, Terror Trips and recently an article in Fangoria Magazine was published in regards to the films 2022 release. Currently planned for 2022, Ashley will be scoring another featured horror film called, RootWorholhas a lot of plans for 2022 and are composing pieces for upcoming feature films while also finishing their EP, due to release winter of 2022. In late January of 2022 Worhol is set to release their single, "Speak to Me" which is now being accepted for music video awards worldwide. Worhol will also be headlining LEAF Fest later this year in Llano, Tx. and has a major surprise towards the end of the year with a once in a lifetime concert opportunity.

The San Francisco Bay Area has a history steeped in forward-thinking, technically dazzling metal, and NITE carries that torch with pride. Founded in 2018, their blackened heavy metal brand barrels towards the peril of an unknown future, while keeping one eye on the days when blistering leads once ruled the land. Guitarists Van Labrakis (Satan’s Wrath, Mencea) and Scott Hoffman (Dawnbringer, High Spirits) let loose galloping riffs and harmonies that evoke the classic sounds of the N.W.O.B.H.M., with Labrakis’ grizzled voice driving their dark, melodic metal into the modern era.

With Avinash Mittur (Wild Hunt) replacing founding bassist Bryan Coons in early 2021, he and drummer Patrick Crawford (Serpents of Dawn, Older Sun) make up a rhythm section that’s fierce yet breathlessly precise: a freewheel pounding reminiscent of the early days of heavy metal, with a Rickenbacker-powered roar fueling the low end. NITE’s debut full-length Darkness Silence Mirror Flame, released in March 2020 by Creator-Destructor Records, earned widespread praise. It showcased their fist-raising classic heavy metal that nearly every fan of the genre once fell in love with, but with a twisted and shadowy edge that the titans of old could never imagine. NITE is the flame of the past illuminating the darkness of tomorrow.
