About Jack Starr:
Starr emerged on the rock and metal scene in 1981, forming, together with Joey Ayvazian, David DeFeis and Joe O’Rielly, the first incarnation of the heavy metal band Virgin Steele. The new band was selected in 1982 by Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records to appear on the label's compilation album U.S. Metal Volume 2. After only two albums, Virgin Steele of 1981 and Guardians of the Flame of 1982, Starr left Virgin Steele in 1983.

In 1984, Starr started his solo recording career with the album Out of the Darkness, featuring former Riot vocalist Rhett Forrester, members of The Rods and former Rainbow drummer Gary Driscoll. It was released in Europe by Music for Nations and was picked as one of the best albums of the year by the music magazines Kerrang! and Metal Forces.

Starr changed the name of his band to Jack Starr's Burning Starr and between 1984 and 1989 he produced albums, both solo and with the band. The music of those albums was classic American eighties heavy metal, a style between Poison and Metallica. In 1989 the band dissolved and Starr joined short-lived bands like Strider and Smoke Stack Lightning.

In the following years, Starr once again assembled a group of musicians for a new incarnation of Burning Starr, which performed at the Magic Circle Festival 2008 and released the album Defiance on Manowar's label Magic Circle Music in 2009. In 2011 they released Land of the Dead with Limb Music. The albums includes ex-Manowar guest musicians Ross the Boss and David Shankle. The band played at the 2013 Keep It True festival and recorded a DVD.

Jack Starr talking about the new single and video, “Rise Up is a song about the centuries old fight for freedom and liberty that has been going on since the dawn of time. There have always been injustice and leaders who rule by fear but at the same time there have been brave men who have stood up and asserted their right to live free.

Rise Up has a universal message of the importance of personal liberty that will appeal to all people of all political persuasions because even though it may be expressed differently at the end of the day people want to live their lives in peace even if it is sometimes requires a struggle to achieve that."

Check Out THEM DAMN KINGS DEBUT ALBUM 'RISE UP'!

Fast rising Georgia based hard rock / metal band THEM DAMN KINGS have released their debut album RISE UP today. The album features the tracks "Throw It Away" and "Yesterday" which were released to US metal radio last year, and saw the band conquer the national Metal Contraband radio charts.

THEM DAMN KINGS is the hard rock wrecking machine created by guitarist / multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Jef Rhodes. Jef is a long time professional Front Of House engineer, and backline tech who has over two decades of international touring experience with such bands as: Opeth, Cradle of Filth, Highly Suspect, Lacuna Coil, Watain, Mayhem, and others.

Enlisting former Lacuna Coil drummer Ryan Folden, the pair have recorded RISE UP, a monster of a debut album that sounds both new and exciting - while simultaneously reminding listeners of that golden age of the early ‘90s when Hard Rock, Metal, and Grunge ruled the late night rock clubs of the world.

After two damn years I’m excited and proud to finally announce our album Rise Up is available for your listening displeasure. I’m beyond excited for you guys to finally hear the full record!” says Rhodes. “Rise Up” is just a starting point for us bastardizing Rock n’ Roll with our own heavy-handed spin on it. The riffs are flowing! And even as you’re reading this I’ve already started writing the next album.”

A debut single, "Throw It Away," was released in October 2020. “It was the first song written for the record. It makes me wanna get on a motorcycle and ride even though the song has nothing to do with that.” says Jef. “It’s about tossing away your fears in an abstract sort of way.” The track was quickly followed by anthemic ‘Yesterday’ which garnered the band their first international radio play, and media support.

Having most recently toured the US as support to Gemini Syndrome, the band are currently in the planning stages of further live dates to support the album’s release.

Rhodes continues, “Through all the Rock n’ Roll craziness, the sweat, the tears, the blood, the broken vans, and not knowing how the band is actually going to get to the next gig, I still wake up every day wanting to do this, needing to do this!”

THE DEAD DAISIES Release "Rise Up (Live From Daisyland)

The Dead Daisies kick open the gates in 2022 with “Rise Up (Live From Daisyland)”, the first of four live tracks to be released over the coming months.

After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, The Dead Daisies rose to the occasion in 2021. Fuelled by a sense of adventure and excitement within the camp to finally plug in their guitars, the band tore up stages playing songs from their Holy Ground album for the very first time.

The Like No Other Tour across the US & England/Wales, delivered twenty-six massive shows with frenzied audiences that were lapping up both the new songs and rockin’ out to the classics.

Over the festive break, the task to select a few of the best songs began and after listening through some of the recordings, four amazing versions of Daisies’ favourites stood out.

“Rise Up”, “Bustle And Flow”, “Long Way To Go” and an incredible extended fiery version of the Deep Purple classic “Burn” almost makes you feel like you were there…

The tracks were recorded and produced by our illustrious Sound Engineer, Tommy Dimitroff at the famous Rock City, Nottingham, UK. The guys played in front of a massive, storming crowd who didn’t stop rocking all night which in turn fired up the band with the results being simply amazing!

“Hey friends, check out this live recording of “Rise Up” from our UK tour last fall. It was a great night and we love the UK!!”Doug Aldrich

Stream “Rise Up (Live From Daisyland)” on your favourite digital platforms, turn it up and check out the video with some epic footage from the “Like No Other” Tour as well!
