In 2022, POWERWOLF continue to build upon their status as the most successful German metal band in current music. An entry at #1 on the Official German Album Charts with the massive streaming event The Monumental Mass: A Cinematic Metal Event, a celebrated headline show at the legendary Wacken Open Air, impressive shows with Iron Maiden and KISS, as well as their upcoming headline tour across the biggest stages in Europe are just some of the highlights of this last year.

One of only three songs with German lyrics in POWERWOLF’s discography is “Glaubenskraft”. Celebrating its “live” premiere via the cinematic streaming event THE MONUMENTAL MASS - A CINEMATIC METAL EVENT, the song proves to be a real highlight in the live set of the band, ready to be unleashed to the masses at one of POWERWOLF’s massive tours or festival headline shows this year. The incredible sound production highlights this live version and turns it into a standout hymn for each fan of the genre.

The song, well placed at the end of the second chapter of the cinematic streaming event, called “Sin”, shoves a finger into the wound that the church has created for itself in recent years. The first single from the upcoming album is entitled "Beast Of Gévaudan", and takes the listener on an impressive journey into the depths of historical France, while the majestically staged music video and its stunning visuals make hearts beat faster just after the first few seconds.

"We are more than proud to present "Beast of Gévaudan", the first song off our upcoming album, Call Of The Wild. The story behind the song couldn't fit better into the world of POWERWOLF: It's about a mysterious beast that killed countless people in the south of France at the end of the 18th century. The beast was never caught and there have always been many legends surrounding the events, up to the interpretation of the clergy, who saw the beast as ‘God's punishment’ or even as a ‘savior of mankind from the worldly and sinful existence.’”

Months before the entire world had been shaken to the core by the still raging Covid-19 pandemic, Heavy metal's finest, POWERWOLF, had gone back to the drawing board to work on ideas for the successor of their globally acclaimed album, The Sacrament Of Sin (2018).

Today, the band issued an update about the ongoing songwriting sessions.

"It‘s been an intense and wild ride in these troubled times, but no moonless night can hold back the wolves from hunting & howling: As of now, we have finished the songwriting and pre-production for the upcoming album and we‘re quite sure of having crafted a wild and adventurous piece of wolfish metal music, with plenty of tunes eagerly howling to be celebrated together with you all! Attila and Matthew have just recorded the last bits of the demos and we can hardly hold back our enthusiasm about the new stuff. We will enter the studio starting in December, once again teaming up with both Joost van den Broek and Jens Bogren to carve this wolfish manifest in stone. Expect the album to be released in summer 2021."
