REVEAL COLLABORATIVE TRACK 'SPIRIT HELPER' FEAT. KEVIN KICKING WOMAN ELDER OF THE BLACKFEET NATION

Today, Norwegian progressive trailblazers Enslaved are honoured to reveal 'Spirit Helper', a unique and deeply powerful collaboration with Kevin Kicking Woman, an Elder of the Blackfeet Nation.

'Spirit Helper' has arisen partly from a relationship with Fire In The Mountains, which takes place each year within the Blackfeet Nation, Montana. Enslaved will be returning to the festival later this month to perform. Ivar Bjørnson from Enslaved and Kevin Kicking Woman explain the concept behind 'Spirit Helper' and the lengthy process behind it.

The 'Spirit Helper' artwork was created by Nicholas Rink, who explains the meaning and symbolism behind it:

"I see the light blue wave at the bottom as a representation of the ocean between us, but also the background vibration of existence connecting us all and giving birth to existence, life, and of course the song itself.

The red line I imagine connecting us across the globe, representing our shared humanity and brother/sisterhood - the living breathing life in us all. The yellow spiral represents the song moving amongst all of these things.

The "Stars" were part of Ivar's original conception and I see them come to represent the power and source of the song. The black circle with the lightning bolt represents Kevin's singing and the spiritual power it carries, and the rainbow of triangles is representative of the musicians.

I wanted to include them symbolically and thought the traditional "triangle man" was a cool way. It took me a bit to decide how I wanted to use it but eventually it came to me to pay homage to Dark side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and included the rainbow colors in a unique way.

All of this is on an old map of Norway that my grandma had saved out of an old National Geographic magazine. I like using maps because LAND is so important in shaping us, our humanity, and how we express ourselves."

Rock and metal icon ROB ZOMBIE has released the official music video for ‘Tarantula,’ another standout track from his latest studio album, The Great Satan, available now via Nuclear Blast Records. The video arrives as fans continue to celebrate Zombie's acclaimed eighth solo album, which has earned widespread praise from critics and listeners alike.

A favorite among fans since the album's release, ‘Tarantula’ now gets a fitting visual counterpart. GREEN LUNG - reveal new track/video 'Necropolitan Line'

Albion's masters of folklore, riffs and legends return with another slab of tomb-shaking, crypt-kicking occult rock. Green Lung have revealed their latest track, 'Necropolitan Line', a Motorhead-meets-Deep Purple subterranean rampage across London's infamous Necropolis Railway.

'Necropolitan Line' is taken from Green Lung's forthcoming new record, Necropolitan, due out on Friday September 11th 2026. A monumental portrait of the power of nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, Necropolitan is also a grand celebration of the occult lore and heavy music scene of the band’s birthplace, the city of London.

Green Lung stated:
"Is there a more fitting subject for a Green Lung song than the Necropolis Railway, a real-life train line that carried corpses and mourners across London in the late 19th Century? Mix in some inspiration from 1972's London Underground-set shocker Death Line, a madcap neoclassical organ/guitar duel that evokes Richie Blackmore and Jon Lord at their finger blistering best, and a record Lung BPM of 180, and you have the second single from our fourth album. We can't wait to play this one live for the first time at the Acid Bath show in Manchester on Thursday. Mind the doors!"

The video, directed by Tracy Mathewson and featuring animation from Joseph Brett, is a tribute to the early 70s German TV show Beat Club, which featured Lung antecedents such as Sabbath, Purple and Lucifer's Friend. “'I, Scvlptor' is a new Behemoth song rooted in the tradition of monumental tracks like 'O Father O Satan O Sun!', 'Lucifer' or 'Nieboga Czarny Xiądz', while at the same time opening a new chapter. It carries that epic weight but also takes an unexpected turn that makes it feel fresh and different from the previous pieces. Lyrically, it is a metaphor for the endless process of shaping oneself - an uneven struggle with matter and personal limitations. The paradox is that from the moment we are born we are already destined to die, so perhaps it is not about victory itself, but about the constant act of sculpting who we are”.
 
'I, Scvlptor', which will be out 04 September 2026, is an exclusive release featuring eight previously unreleased songs - seven new studio recordings and one live track. It is an autonomous body of work that bridges the band's foundational past with their present creative fire. The release features brand-new studio material embodying the full force of Behemoth's live energy and intensity. After eleven years of albums and global touring, Colorado’s Khemmis have cemented themselves as pillars of modern heavy metal. On July 24th, NYHC icons MADBALL return with their tenth studio album, Not Your Kingdom,via Nuclear Blast. Seamlessly bridging the gap between old-school grit and the modern heavy music landscape, MADBALL remains an unrivaled force. Not Your Kingdom pairs the band's trademark tales of street survival with a deeper, introspective edge, cementing the fact that hardcore still runs deep in their veins.

MADBALL has unleashed their second single, 'Tethered.' The track serves as an unapologetic, deeply personal reflection on everything the band represents. To my ears, it has a 'nostalgic' feel but still manages to come across as something new for us! Bay Area thrash legends DEATH ANGEL will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their critically acclaimed eighth studio album, The Evil Divide, with a special vinyl reissue arriving July 24th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Originally released on May 27, 2016, The Evil Divide marked another triumphant chapter in the band’s storied career, capturing the ferocity, precision, and relentless energy that have defined Death Angel for more than four decades. Helmed by renowned producer Jason Suecoff at AudioHammer Studios, the album further cemented the band’s standing among thrash metal’s elite, earning widespread acclaim for its explosive songwriting, technical intensity, and emotionally charged performances.

The 10th anniversary LP edition will feature the bonus track ‘Wasteland,’ DEATH ANGEL’s powerful interpretation of the 1986 song originally performed by The Mission. DEATH ANGEL is a pioneering American thrash metal band formed in 1982 in Daly City, California, and a vital force in the legendary Bay Area thrash movement. After reuniting in 2001, DEATH ANGEL embarked on a powerful second chapter — one that would become among the strongest stretches of their career. Rather than leaning on nostalgia, they delivered a run of acclaimed releases that fused classic Bay Area aggression with sharpened songwriting and modern production. Beginning with “The Art of Dying” (2004) and continuing through “Killing Season” (2008), “Relentless Retribution” (2010), “The Dream Calls for Blood”(2013), “The Evil Divide” (2016), and 2019’s “Humanicide”, the band refined their attack while expanding their dynamics. Across these albums, intricate riff craftsmanship, blistering tempos, and socially aware lyricism became hallmarks of their modern era. “Humanicide”earned DEATH ANGEL a Grammynomination for Best Metal Performance, further solidifying their place among contemporary thrash metal’s most vital and respected forces.

In 2025, the band unveiled two standalone singles, marking their first new material in several years and signaling the next phase of their evolution. “Wrath (Bring Fire)” delivered a high-velocity assault rooted firmly in classic Bay Area ferocity, while “Cult of the Used” emerged as a sharp, socially charged anthem driven by precision riffing, thunderous rhythm work, and commanding vocals. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of “Act III”, DEATH ANGEL launched a special anniversary tour performing the album in its entirety. We have several songs that we feel could be first “out of the gate”.  But in the end Rebel Kids made the most sense musically, lyrically etc. We look forward to releasing this song and album. GREEN LUNG RETURN WITH FOURTH ALBUM, NECROPOLITAN + UNVEIL 'EVIL IN THIS HOUSE'

The funeral bell is tolling, the ravens have left the tower - the long-awaited fourth album from the UK’s lords of the riff is finally upon us. Necropolitan will be released on Friday September 11th 2026 by Nuclear Blast Records. A monumental portrait of the power of nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, Necropolitan is also a grand celebration of the occult lore and heavy music scene of the band’s birthplace, the city of London.  

With producer Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Ghost) at the helm, this time handling everything from recording to mixing, the band decamped to Rockfield Studios in January 2026, following in the muddy footprints of some of their key inspirations, from Black Sabbath to Queen to Judas Priest. Sonically, they were set on capturing their megalithic live sound more accurately than ever - stripping back their usual dense, multilayered arrangements to their rawest, leanest form and recording much of the album live to capture their Sabbathian heaviness, frenzied Hammonds and haunting Mellotrons as faithfully as possible.

The result is an album that combines the soaring hookiness of This Heathen Land with an uncompromising rawness and heaviness, and takes the band’s distinctive brand of sonic storytelling to macabre new heights.  

If, a year after Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning show and the death of Ozzy Osbourne, you had any doubts about the future of traditional British metal, Necropolitan will lay them to rest. CONJURER have evolved radically since the release of their debut album (Mire, 2018), and their second release (Páthos, 2022) saw them lauded among the most exciting British metal bands. Whilst award nominations and accolades accumulated, the four-piece band retained their very simple mission: to make heavy music and have fun whilst doing so. Preferring to use their spotlight to showcase technicality and musicality rather than centring politics or opinions, CONJURER lived in the moment and embraced everything that came their way.
  
Within the tumult of forging a renewed identity as a band, on Unself there is a more intense, more personal voyage of discovery unfurling for vocalist/guitarist Dani Nightingale. Diagnosed with autism at age 31, their long-held view of self, and perception of their place in the world began to unravel. Unself documents much of the piecing back together around the diagnosis, alongside the realisation they were non-binary. 
  
These vignettes of processing and self-actualisation take place against the backdrop of a society careening towards glassy-eyed capitalist dystopia; finding firm footing eludes many of us - and CONJURER delve headfirst into exploring these suffocating new societal parameters.
 
Within Unself's nine tracks, CONJURER deliver the writhing post-metal sound they’ve become known for, but have loosened their grip on the desire to fill every moment with sonic obliteration. Instead, they have leaned into utilising space, gifting listeners a little breathing room which serves to make the heavy elements feel all the more intense. 
  
A more direct, organic approach to songwriting was facilitated by the ever-strengthening bonds within the band, and the supportive environment created by producer Joe Clayton. Allowing themselves more time than with any previous recording experience, they committed to preproduction sessions, followed by an elongated recording period in order to do justice to the material they had crafted. Stripping back the excesses of previous outings to reveal their solid songwriting chops allowed for more clarity and more dynamics to shine through. To their ears, the mood, the core of the lyrical content and the music are more aligned than ever before. 
  
This record is the sound of four individuals living with more purpose and as a consequence creating with more purpose. Unself sees them reaching out to offer community, catharsis and connection. CONJURER remain true to their original mission - they’re still having fun, playing interesting heavy music - but now that music is imbued with the power that comes from opening themselves up to others, at first within the band, and now beyond.

EPICA - Reveal Live Video 'Cross The Divide (Live at Ziggo Dome Amsterdam)'

Having recently wraped up their colossal Arcane Dimensions Tour with Amaranthe and Charlotte Wessels, symphonic metal titans EPICA have unveiled an exhilarating live version of their track 'Cross The Divide', taken from their critically acclaimed, latest studio record Aspiral.

This action-packed version was recorded early this year at the band's biggest headline show to date - a sold-out night at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome in front of 10,000 fans.

After diving deep into hypothetical theories, metaphysical mysticism and themes that were touching the fabric of our existence in the infinity of the universe, EPICA ’s 9th studio effort Aspiral centres on the work of sculptor Stanisław Szukalski. During the first Covid lockdown, bassist Rob van der Loo saw the documentary ‘Struggle – The Life And Lost Art Of Stanislav Szukalski’ and felt so inspired by his work that he wanted to write soundtracks for some of his sculptures, simply because each and every detail in his works are artworks on their own and their stories go very deep. And this is where the path started. Aspiral was born as an instrumental soundtrack to this world, an initially separate project that over time metamorphosed into the new EPICA record.  

The title comes from a bronze statue Szukalski did in 1965. If you take a close look, you can see snails rebuilding elements out of the mud in cycles and this eventually leads to civilization and a woman reaching out to the sun. It stands for renewal and inspiration – keywords that define EPICA now.

For more than 20 years now, EPICA  have been standing tall. And while already their last efforts clearly showcased their commitment to the game, it is Aspiral that truly distils the very heart of their trademark sound.

TESTAMENT'S REMASTERED/REISSUE OF 'PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH' OUT NOW

Bay Area thrash icons TESTAMENT have released their remastered reissue of their coveted 1989 album, Practice What You Preach, via Nuclear Blast Records. 

The Practice What You Preach (2026 Remaster) reissue was remastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound. It will be available digitally and 180G vinyl on Yellow and Orange Swirl with Black Splatter (limited to 1250 worldwide) and is packaged with brand new artwork from Bill Benson (who also designed the original cover art), a 20pg booklet showcasing old photos and documents provided by Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson of the band and newly provided liner notes.

Uniquely talented Faroese artist Eivør has revealed a brand-new song. With her new single 'Healer', Eivør opens the door to a new chapter, one rooted in vulnerability, strength and transformation.

Marking her first release since the 2024 album ENN, 'Healer' arrives after an extended period of international touring, where Eivør has performed across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, steadily deepening her connection with a global audience.

Set within a dark, atmospheric sound world, 'Healer' blends a distorted piano-led bass line with cinematic strings and ambient textures. Driven by a steady, pulsing rhythm and carried by Eivør’s raw, expressive vocals, the track moves between fragility and release, like letting go in a storm while still carrying everything you’ve been through.

At its core, the song is a reflection on self-worth and resilience. It captures the tension between falling and finding your footing again, holding space for both doubt and quiet strength.

Eivør explains:
“‘Healer’ is a conversation with my younger self - the one who once doubted everything and didn’t feel like she was enough. It lives in the space of falling and finding your footing. The song holds onto the idea that even in those moments, something stronger is quietly building.”

The accompanying video, directed by Faroese filmmaker Katrin Joensen-Næs, extends the emotional world of the song through a stark and symbolic visual language. Shot entirely in black and white, the film unfolds around two mirrored figures, exploring themes of identity, transformation and inner dialogue. All production design and costumes are created within this monochrome palette, reinforcing a visual language that reflects an inner emotional landscape. The video is inspired by the idea that time heals all wounds.

Following a period of near-continuous touring, 'Healer' signals a shift towards a more direct and emotionally immediate form of songwriting, while retaining the depth and physical intensity that define her work. 

Eivør continues: “I poured my heart into this song. I hope it meets you where you are, and maybe offers you a sense of strength and healing.”

Eivør is one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from the Nordic music scene, an artist whose work bridges ancient tradition and contemporary sound. Raised in the Faroe Islands, her music is deeply shaped by the stark landscapes and communal singing culture of her homeland, where music is both ritual and everyday expression.

Blending elements of Nordic folk, cinematic composition and modern production, Eivør has built a genre-defying catalogue across 11 studio albums.
