LORD OF THE LOST show their emotional side and present the final video of the OPVS NOIR trilogy with the music video for their single "The Days Of Our Lives," unveiled today. With the release of OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 this Friday, April 10, the band concludes the album trilogy that began in the summer of 2025. "The Days Of Our Lives" is a soulful and seemingly hopeless ballad, situated somewhere between a soundtrack and cold electronica, and, as the closing track, serves as the curtain call for the entire work.
 
With nearly half a million listeners on Spotify, their appearance at the Eurovision final in 2023, followed by a number-one album and international tours with Iron Maiden, LORD OF THE LOST are proving themselves to be one of the most exciting and successful acts on the scene right now. OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 represents the creative peak of a band whose repertoire leaves no room for stagnation. Following the captivating BLOOD & GLITTER, which brought them to the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and a #1 chart entry in their native Germany to go along with it, LORD OF THE LOST once again demonstrate their unmatched diversity on OPVS NOIR Vol. 3. Next, Chris Harms and parting KISSIN’ DYNAMITE frontman Hannes Braun deliver "La Vie Est Hell," before going back to "Square One." "When Did The Love Break?" is a heartfelt song of lost love – the addition of whimsical vocals by Ambre Vourvahis of XANDRIA drives the emotions of this universal topic right home. Robin Ross & The Melodynes Revive 60s Flower Power with New Single "All I Want (Is A Lover)"

Robin Ross & The Melodynes are back with their new single "All I Want (Is A Lover)", bringing the sun-drenched sounds of the 1960s back to the forefront.  Buoyant rhythms and warm acoustic textures carry a message of emotional openness, celebrating the kind of connection where love feels effortless and unrestrained. 

A masterclass in flower power pop with a modern soul, the track has already caught the attention of major television supervisors, landing a featured spot in the star-studded Apple TV+ and Peacock original series "Margo’s Got Money Troubles".  Starring Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman and Nicole Kidman, the series features the song during a pivotal scene in its second episode, airing April 15, 2026.

The single's classic wishful vibe complements the narrative of this show, which tells the story of a young mother navigating fame and financial struggle. The dropout daughter of a former Hooters waitress and an ex-pro wrestler, Margo is an aspiring writer faced with mounting debt and a new baby. 

Appearing on the trail of their new "Mind Space" album, this track recalls the timeless harmony of The Mamas & The Papas mixed with the melodic grit of Tom Petty and The Kinks. With its retro-inspired charm and breezy, nostalgic tone, the track captures a longing for acceptance and authenticity, inviting listeners to leave behind expectations and embrace a bond that feels natural and true.

Recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio in Milford, Pennsylvania, this single was produced and mixed by Robin Ross, along with supervising engineer Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn). 

Written and performed by Robin Ross (guitar, bass and percussion) and JoEllen Gaetani (vocals), this feel-good anthem blends vintage influence with a timeless sense of optimism, echoing the spirit of an era while speaking to the freedom of loving without limits. 

"I was recording a C-B-Am progression when a melody just flowed out, which I captured on a vocal scratch track. JoEllen and I later sat down to refine those initial takes, weaving my original phrasing into a cohesive story and writing new lines to perfectly fill the space," says Robin Ross.

"The song is about letting love live without the stigma often placed on those who don't 'match the norm.' Inspired by our own lives and the experience of being judged as a couple, this track is about moving past that and letting love flow like an atom in flight. It’s 'All I Want.'"

Emerging from the 80s New Jersey and New York music scenes, Robin Ross is now a central figure in the creative pulse of Milford, PA. A multi-faceted musician, songwriter, and producer for 30+ years, he has released numerous albums while launching and developing several recording spaces, including Triple R Studios and Sound Complex near NYC. He has since grown his current hub, Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio into a creative sanctuary and production house.

In the early ’90s, Robin Ross co-founded Laughing Jack (later Jack’s Maze), known for their progressive rock style. After a lengthy hiatus, 2021 marked a return to form, building his recording studio and reuniting with bandmates Frank Cinquegrana, Scott Cowan and Joe Torres to record new material, with a fresh Jack’s Maze release anticipated later this year. In 2025, he also released several records as Robin Ross & The TW Howlers and Robin Ross & The Bluesberry Jam.

New Jersey's The Melancholy Kings channel film noir romance in dreamy ‘New Girl’ single

New Jersey indie rockers The Melancholy Kings present ‘New Girl’, an acoustic-driven ode to a film noir ingenue immortalized on celluloid. Blending the heart-on-sleeve vulnerability of The Replacements with the expansive, atmospheric depth of Pink Floyd, this is the fourth single from their second album 'Her Favorite Disguise'. Released via Magic Door Record Label, this record taps into the vicissitudes of life in the Big Apple and its step-sister across the Hudson, with their rich tapestry and follies.

Featuring Mike Potenza’s hushed vocals and delicate acoustic foundations, the track eschews traditional indie-rock tropes for a cinematic, slow-burn arrangement. Sparse drums by Paul Andrew and atmospheric textures from both Peter Horvath on electric guitar and Scott Selig bowing harmonics on upright bass create a soundscape that is enriched by cellist Carolyn Jeselsohn, whose elegant lines weave a sense of timelessness through the mix.

The accompanying video was created by Scott Selig, who manipulated footage to create a slowly shape-shifting abstraction of film noir ambiance. A bittersweet tribute with hypnotic allure, the narrator pines for a ghost from the Golden Age of cinema, capturing the strange intimacy of loving someone who exists only in black-and-white frames. The lyrics cleverly deconstruct the boundary between what is "real" and what is "reel", as Selig’s video reinforces this dreamlike state.

Earlier, the band released 'Bitcoin Elegy' on the decline of meaningful personal relationships in the digital age, jangly guitar rocker 'Victoria' and their quasi-psychedelic single 'UV', which features famed trumpeter Mac Gollehon (David Bowie, Al Jarreau, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger, Hall and Oates).

The Melancholy Kings' core is singer-guitarist Mike Potenza (The Anderson Council, Crash Harmony, BARD, Gramercy Arms) and bassist Scott Selig (Ambulance, Uncle Moon, Deni Bonet Band, Super Tuesday), who met amidst corporate life in Manhattan, learning they were both active in the '90s-'00s NYC indie scene, playing in various "almost-famous" bands, touring and opening for legendary artists. Committing themselves to music, the lineup solidified with drummer Paul Andrew (Fluffer, Phantom Tollbooth) and guitarist Peter Horvath (The Anderson Council).

Following their 2019 eponymous debut record, 'Her Favorite Disguise' is an unapologetic nod to the rough-hewn '80s pre-grunge alt-rock era. Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Ray Ketchem (Guided by Voices, Luna, Elk City, Gramercy Arms, Crash Harmony) at Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, NJ, this album also involves Elk City vocalist Reneé LoBue, vocalist Olivia Selig, Ketchem on percussion, and accordionist Carl Riehl (Michelle Shocked, Uncle Moon).

Florida rock band Gunshine released their third track, “Single Looks Good On You,”offering fans a taste of their forthcoming full-length album, Grand Rising, due out digitally on July 24 through vnclm_ /  Create Music Group. They unveiled the music video for the single. 

 

"Single Looks Good On You'' is a spring break party rocking song inspired by the gulf coast of Florida. An anthem to those recently single ready to let loose and have a good time. Mimi Barks returns with her brand new single and video, "Dreamstate Of Hell," a dark and emotionally charged statement that opens the next chapter of her DOOM TRAP world. Rooted in the collision of metal, industrial energy, and trap, the track feels raw, urgent, and deeply personal, pushing further into the tension, grit, and truth that have come to define her sound. From the underground scenes of Berlin and London to major stages across the UK and Europe, Mimi Barks has built a sound and identity entirely her own. Since 2009, ARCHSPIRE has aimed to be one thing above all else: extreme. With their upcoming release, ‘TOO FAST TO DIE,’ they’ve once again raised the bar for what extreme music can be.

“We’re like a bit of meth in your cigarette,” says vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron, describing the band’s unhinged live show. “I think people don’t quite know how to describe what they’re hearing.”

In 2025, ARCHSPIRE announced their new drummer, Spencer Moore, marking a shift in the band’s trajectory. New blood brings new influences, and with the first single “Carrion Ladder,”they intended to show exactly how quickly he proved himself.

“I had to step my game up fast to pull off the new material,” Spencer explains. “But once we started tracking, everything felt comfortable and natural.”

 

Recorded in 2025, the album reunites the band with world-renowned producer Dave Otero(Cattle Decapitation, Khemmis) for the third time. They locked themselves inside his Denver studio for several months, cutting out distractions and dedicating themselves entirely to the record.

‘TOO FAST TO DIE’ follows the critically acclaimed Juno Award-winning ‘Bleed the Future,’ and marks the band’s first fully independent release. Early in the writing process, they chose to crowdfund the album, a strategy they’d used before, but nothing prepared them for the scale of what came next.

They raised nearly $400,000 CAD in 30 days, blowing past their goal in under 24 hours and confirming that independence was the right move.

“I was actually shaking when I pressed launch,” says guitarist Dean Lamb. “We’d never taken on something this big, and all I could think was, ‘man, I hope we don’t mess this up.’”

 

‘TOO FAST TO DIE’ is set for release on April 10, 2026, and represents a new chapter for ARCHSPIRE. Now fully independent and armed with a revitalized lineup, they’re intent on expanding their already rabid fanbase, pushing the boundaries of extreme metal, and having a great time doing it.

Melodic alternative metal band Breaking In A Sequence released their new single “Meant To Be” via TLG|ZOID, distributed by Virgin Music Group. The track serves as the first official single from the band’s completed full-length album INANIMATE, due out later this year.

 

“Meant To Be” finds Breaking In A Sequence pushing into new sonic territory, blending evolving rhythms, unexpected progressions, and a melody-driven approach that blurs genre boundaries while still delivering the heavy impact the band is known for. Sweden’s leading recycling initiative Pantamera proudly announces Finnish hard rock legends LORDI as the official spokesband for its 2026 national recycling campaign. Launching on April 2, 2026, the campaign arrives alongside a brand-new LORDI single and video titled “Pantamera (PAN-TAH-MEH-RAH!)”.

At some point, you have to let people face the tide on their own in order to learn. We actually flew out to L.A. to work with producer Hiram Hernandez, and that experience took the band's sound to a whole different level. He helped bring so many ideas to life and really pushed us to be our best selves when writing. We're pumped on what we created together."

Frenchy and the Punk declare 'War On War' with new video, announcing spring tour dates

Post-Punk duo Frenchy and the Punk present their new video for the powerful and compelling single ‘War on War’, along with an announcement of spring 2026 tour dates. Playing up to 100 shows a year, the duo thrives on the road. Now they are set to bring that energy to dozens of cities across the Midwest and East Coast before heading overseas for select UK dates.

Torchbearers of a new era in post-punk, Frenchy and the Punk was formed in 2005 byvocalist, percussionist, keyboardist and lyricist Samantha Stephenson and guitarist-composer Scott Helland, co-founder of Deep Wound (with Dinosaur Jr. icons J Mascis and Lou Barlow) and Outpatients, and also known for his exceptional solo music project Guitarmy of One. 

Frenchy and the Punk, listed in the ‘Top 25 US duos’ by Yahoo! Music, is a powerhouse duo with a distinct sound, blending post-punk with a touch of new wave by way of electro-acoustic hybrid guitars, loop pedals, fiery live acoustic and electronic percussion, synth and rich commanding vocals.

The powerful video for ‘War on War' was filmed and edited by Samantha Stephenson in New York State. The single itself was mixed and mastered by William Faith (The Bellwether Syndicate, Faith and the Muse) at William Faith Music Production, with vocal recording and production at Kale Shelter Studios by Hillary Johnson, known for her work with Jeff Buckley, The Misfits, Rufus Wainwright, The Ramones, Nile Rodgers, Vernon Reid and more.

Following 'Not Under Your Spell', released at the end of 2025, this is the band's second release through Distortion Productions, having signed to the label after label-head Jim Semonik saw their performance at Dark Force Fest, in New Jersey last summer.

"This song is not only about war but also the deterioration of truth and destruction of progress. It's the belief that the majority of people in this country and the world do not want to go backwards and do not want to see bloodshed," says Samantha Stephenson.

A veteran of the US hardcore punk scene, Scott Helland has spent years honing a dynamic, high-impact performance style that now drives Frenchy and the Punk’s electrifying live presence and genre-blurring sound. Over the course of his music career, he has shared the stage with Black Flag, Husker Du, GBH, C.O.C, Agnostic Front and CroMags, in addition to performing with Dinosaur Jr. on occasion.
 
Samantha's artistic expression came from a completely different place, having started in dance, piano and the visual arts. These two worlds collided forming a musical incarnation that moves effortlessly from bombastic and driving songs to atmospheric and almost transcendent soundscapes.

Both before and after their critically acclaimd albums 'Midnight Garden' (2024) and 'Zen Ghost' (2022), they have toured the US and Europe relentlessly. Fiercely DIY, they have earned a wide and loyal following, endearing audiences not only with their music but their engaging live shows. To see them together onstage is to witness their palpable connection and dedication to the creative life they lead.

'War On War' is out everywhere digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. A full-length album is also in the works, planned for release in late 2026

Holding Absence Announce Sumerian Records Signing "Whisper Of A Dream" Single And Music Video Out Now

South Wales trio Holding Absence today release "Whisper Of A Dream", their first new music since 2023’s ‘The Noble Art Of Self-Destruction’ and their first for new label Sumerian Records. 

This track captures what it means to be human when hope feels out of reach. Holding Absence explore the tension between numbness and healing, tapping into a state so dark it feels almost inhuman. It is a search for something better, while watching it slip further away. Sitting between emotional hardcore and alternative, Holding Absence lean into deep vulnerability, pulling listeners into a world shaped by their lyrics and striking visual identity. The single also marks the introduction of a character that will unfold across the album campaign. 

Speaking of "Whisper Of A Dream", frontman Lucas Woodland shares:

“'Whisper Of A Dream' is our first song back in what feels like forever. After releasing our third record, 'The Noble Art Of Self-Destruction', it felt essential to step away for a while - to take stock and rediscover who we are as a band. "Whisper" felt like the perfect song to return with. In many ways, it represents everything Holding Absence has always been, while introducing new elements to our sound and opening the door to what comes next. 

Lyrically and conceptually, the song draws heavily from cyberpunk media. Contemplation, sentience and dreaming in an ever-evolving world. The music video also introduces our robot mascot “Y4-BB0”, a character you’ll be seeing more of in the coming years." 

By signing off ‘The Noble Art of Self-Destruction’ with a stark “3/3”, Holding Absence made a promise - to set fire to everything they, and their fans, thought they knew about the band. After nearly a decade of carving out a home in their post hardcore terrain, 'TNAOSD'was a final, defiant love letter to themselves - a wild, muddy exorcism of all they had been, and all that fans had grown to love about them… But the end of that campaign posed some cold, hard questions: What do we lose? And what do we keep? What does it mean - and has it meant - to the thousands of fans across the world adorned with the moth tattoo? And how do we carry out this metamorphosis without losing that? 

Holding Absence is emotion. It is vulnerability and honesty. It’s the raindrops that trickle down your face on a cold walk home... The wind that blows across your cheeks as the sky splits open at sunrise. If you can feel it - raw and human - it is Holding Absence.
