Pennsylvania artists Robin Ross & The TW Howlers present their new single 'Whiskey and Ice'. Set in New Orleans, this is an upbeat track about battening down the hatches and getting ready for whatever comes your way. With distinctive roots-rock hues, it's a little CCR andw a lot of energy in a sonic call-to-action to take care of business before the storm hits.

Robin Ross & The TW Howlers recently released their debut EP 'Back To The Forest', a tale of two rockers walking with nature and truth, living life to the fullest. This collaboration between singer-songwriters Robin Ross and TW Howell offers five original compositions, co-authored and recorded over several months in early 2025. With a stealthy mix of classic and Americana-hued and folky blues-rock, they earlier released videos for 'Walk With Me' and 'Back To The Forest'.

'Whiskey and Ice' paints a vivid picture of confronting an environmental disaster, beginning with a heavy, uncertain morning after a night of revelation. The recurring motif of "whiskey and ice" emerges as a central coping mechanism, a steadying presence amidst the escalating threat of a powerful storm bearing down on New Orleans.

The narrative skillfully blends personal unease with the impending external disaster, shifting from a sense of being overwhelmed to a determined call for action – to "put out the sandbags" and "clean up our house." Ultimately, it's a compelling exploration of resilience, finding a way to feel "right" and "set free" even as the world around them threatens to shut down, highlighting the human need for both escape and resolve in the face of adversity.

With a musical foundation that started in New Jersey and New York in 1988, Robin Ross has since established himself in the bustling artistic community of Milford, Pennsylvania, A musician, songwriter, and producer known for diverse musical endeavors spanning over three decades, he has released five albums, holds an audio engineering degree and has played a pivotal role in the creation of several recording studios, including Triple R Studios and Sound Complex near New York City.

With a storied history of performing all over the United States, TW Howell is a folk-blues musician, whose style of music seamlessly blends these genres together with hints of rock. Writing and performing music his whole life, TW's music career launched in Florida on a trajectory that has zig-zagged throughout the country. He too considers the Lake Champlain area and the Poconos as his home base.

Recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studios in Milford, this album was produced and engineered by Robin Ross with Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn) serving as supervising engineer. Ross and Howell are joined on this album by their extended musical family of Wharton Tiers on drums and back vocalists Joellen (JoJo) Gaetani, Nancy Isola and Kristin Grazevich.

Back To The Forest is more than an album; it's a sonic bath, a meticulously crafted immersion where the exhilarating pulse of good-vibed rock and roll converges with the serene power of pure forest energy. Each track is designed to envelop you, gently yet powerfully elevating your personal vibration and tuning you into a deeper sense of well-being. In the early 1990s, Robin co-founded the band Laughing Jack, later rebranded as Jack’s Maze, which gained acclaim for a progressive rock sound reminiscent of such iconic bands as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. But, as occurs for many artists, life and business took him in a different direction.

In 2021, with rekindled passion, Robin embarked on new projects, including Robin Ross & The Melodynes, a collaboration with Wharton Tiers, Joe Torres and Joellen (JoJo) Gaetani that infuses the retro vibe of classic rock with modern sensibilities and more contemporary influences. Robin also regrouped with Jack's Maze members Frank Cinquegrana, Scott Cowan, and Joe Torres to create new progressive rock albums.

The Pretty Wild Unleash Latest Track "living ded" + Official Video (via Sumerian Records)

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild have unleashed their new track "living ded" and the accompanying official video (via Sumerian Records). Prior to today, the band released the official music video for "sLeepwALKeR", which climbed the TikTok Viral Music Charts to #43 with 22.6k organic creations on the platform. The sister duo next shared "Button Eyes" which continues to climb the ranks at Active Rock radio. Most recently, The Pretty Wild dropped their banger "OMENS" and official music video. Altogether, the tracks have clocked over 15 million streams on Spotify alone and nearly 2 million views on YouTube. Speaking about today's release, the band shared:

"'Living ded' is about reclaiming power through an intense and seemingly unbeatable struggle. When you’re dragged to your darkest depths, almost into existential collapse, and you find yourself suspended in this kind of weird liminal space. Some choose to stay there, but others self-realize the suffering, refuse to disappear, and choose to rise again as something new raw, almost ghostly or unkillable. Silly Goose Announce "Keys to the City" Album + Share Double Single

Buzzy rap x rock wunderkinds Silly Goose are back with an album full of ragers and party jams. As is always the case with the Goose, they don't simply crash the party. They take over the party.

Maximo Park maestro Duncan Lloyd presents 'Unwound' album: Antidote to the daily grind

English songwriter-guitarist Duncan Lloyd presents his new 12-track 'Unwound' album, his sixth solo endeavour, introducing the focus track 'One Step Closer To The Dam'. Previously with Warp Records, this is his first album of new material via Reveal Records following the label's reissues of Lloyd’s early solo albums, including the colossal 31-track selected works collection 'Green Grows Devotion' (2022) and 'Fun City' (a trilogy of EPs recorded in 2024).

Written during a difficult personal period, this record developed as a form of coping and catharsis, fortifying his sound with depth and ambition relative to previous releases. Lloyd earlier shared the singles 'Laugh So Loud' and 'Rituals', blending a modern sound with a deeply personal message about habits and healing, voiced through a circular, radio-like musical journey.

A critically acclaimed solo artist, Lloyd is the primary musician behind internationally renowned art-rockers Maximo Park and also half of Nano Kino (with Sarah Suri). He is a Mercury Music Prize nominee, has won an NME award, had A-listed singles at BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music (including lyric of the year), and has seen success with worldwide platinum and gold selling records. His songs have featured on eight hit albums with Maximo Park, consistently charting in the Top 10 U.K.

With cover artwork derived from Lloyd’s own paintings, this record weaves a unique musical maze of free and varied personal expression, deep and transient, spare, intense and urgent with a balance of grit, beauty and melody. Things got moving when Lloyd set to work with Julie McLarnon (The Vaselines, Lankum, King Creosote, Brigid Mae Power) at Analogue Catalogue Studios in Ireland. Gaining impetus from his trip across the Irish sea, Lloyd returned to Newcastle to complete the rest of the album, each song carefully crafted with more anarchical arrangements than previous outings.

“I needed a break from all things online. Stepping away from it and being closer to nature reignites the imagination, it’s kind of obvious but easy to forget how important it is. It’s an album about experience, throughout you get the sense that dynamics, speed and space were all careful considerations. I am sort of looking under the soil trying to shape the sounds I imagine and if possible create something relatable that has a heart. I didn’t want it to be one produced sound, I wanted it to feel like different rooms, many spaces," says Duncan Lloyd.

"I partly had the book "The Poetics of Space" by Gaston Bachelard in mind, every song is it’s own room with it’s own signature. This is probably my heaviest album, in sound and mood. There are songs that lean towards post-punk and with hypnotic rhythms that are darker in tone. I wanted it to feel like the listener can climb inside the sound rather than be on the outside looking in. I don’t want them to be in the cinema I want them to be in the film or in the room, so it’s almost spooky."

The album features a host of Lloyd’s musician friends, including Maximo Park keyboardist Jemma Freese and drummer Tom English, Andrew Mills (Purploid Zing) and Joe Boyer (Cloud Nothings, Autopolitan, Nicole Yun).

'Unwound' is imbued with a darker mood than Lloyd’s previous works, but with a continuing sense of melancholy at its core. Restrained yet intimate lyrics are housed in inventively evolving structures. The album draws to a close with 'A World Away Now', a song of lost opportunity. Sometimes simply making a connection is enough.

"Sometimes on a song the bass or percussion talks louder than a voice, so I mixed it like that. Sometimes nothing else contends if the emotion isn’t clear. When you hear musicians playing together, you are invited into something far more personal or engaging. You can’t always tell the detail, yet you can feel the dynamics -- you can sense it is living," says Duncan Lloyd.

"I may let guitars get loud and careen around if that’s where it wants to go. It can then go the other way and be minimal, economical. Although it is a very personal album, it’s also addressed to the stranger and, if the listener can relate and even laugh about what life throws at us, then a connection lives”.

Writing and recording under his own name for the last decade, Lloyd has enjoyed many collaborations, including with Paul Epworth (Bloc Party, Glass Animals, Rihanna), Gil Norton (The Pixies, Echo & The Bunnymen), Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Ben Allen (Gnarls Barclay, Deerhunter), Rudimental, Dave Okumu, Batidaand legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen.

As of July 11th, 'Unwound' is available digitally via Bandcamp and digital music platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify. It is also released on CD, the first 200 ordered coming with a bonus live four-track recording in 'The Polestar Sessions' EP.

Powerhouse Alternative Rock Trio THE HUNNA Return with New Single "Hide & Seek" + Music Video

Today, powerhouse alternative rock trio THE HUNNA return with their triumphant and anthemic new single, “Hide & Seek.” Accompanying the track is a five-minute cinematic video, directed by Modern Day Auteur, available to view below.

Marking their first new music in three years, “Hide & Seek” sees the powerhouse trio back with a bang. The track was self-produced by the band, mixed by Tarrant Shepherd, and mastered by Katie Tavini (Bloc Party, Kids In Glass Houses, Sam Ryder).

THE HUNNA, formed by Jack Metcalfe, Ryan Potter, and Daniel Dorney, burst onto the scene in 2015 with standout singles “Bonfire” and “She’s Casual,” followed by their explosive debut album, ‘100,’ in 2016, which secured their first top 20 record, reaching number 13 on the UK album chart.

Bolstered by global fan support, the band swiftly earned major festival slots, including headlining the Festival Republic Stage at Reading & Leeds Festival and performing a secret set that attracted one of the largest crowds to date. They also performed at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, All Points East, and festivals across Europe and North America, alongside their own sold-out tours.

Between 2017 and 2018, the band’s second album, ‘Dare,’ climbed to number 12 on the UK album chart, sparking a sold-out tour in Australia and further sold-out shows across the UK and Europe. Notable achievements included selling out Brixton Academy three times, as well as Camden Roundhouse, Rock City, Manchester Apollo, and other prominent venues. In the US, they achieved success with multiple sold-out performances at iconic venues like The Troubadour in Los Angeles, Mercury Lounge, and Webster Hall in New York.

For their third album, ‘I’d Rather Die Than Let You In,’ THE HUNNA collaborated with renowned producer John Feldmann (Blink-182, Goldfinger, Twenty One Pilots, All Time Low) in Calabasas, working alongside artists such as Travis Barker (Blink-182), Josh Dun (Twenty One Pilots), Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), Phem, and others. The trio followed this in 2022 with their self-titled album ‘The Hunna,’ partnering with Grammy Award-winning producer Gil Norton. Adored by their loyal fanbase of nearly a decade, this album marked a significant new chapter for the band.

New England fivesome RESTRAINING ORDER — Pat Cozens [vocals], Dylan Tobia [guitar], Kyle Beaudreault [guitar], Jake Miller [guitar], Keith Freeman[bass], and Will Hirst [drums] — traffic in no nonsense hardcore punk.

After amassing millions of streams, praise from Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and more while regularly reducing venues to piles of ash, the group will deliver its third full-length Future Fortune on September 12. Green Carnation Announce New Album 'The Shores of Melancholia'

No matter how long or where the journey has taken them, Green Carnation have always sought to climb the highest mountains. While founded by Emperor's former bassist Tchort in the early '90s, the Norwegians quickly amassed a cult following while blazing their own trail through fields of symphonic doom, hard rock, acoustic plucking and progressive metal.

Had they never returned from hiatus during the mid-2000s, this band would've been remembered for completing one of the most ambitious individual epics in metal's vaunted archives. And yet, one mighty tale - or three, to be exact - continued to elude them. That is, until now. Two decades removed from its initial conception, Green Carnation have finally completed their masterpiece.

Today, the prog auters are announcing the first part of A Dark Poem, a grand and gloomy album trilogy that was inspired by Arthur Rimbaud's dreamy ode to Shakespeare's Ophelia. The Shores of Melancholiaremains grounded in the band's newfound heavy hooks, but though heavenly to the ears, lead single "In Your Paradise" is awash with doubt over our distorted view of the world.

"We are so excited to announce our long-awaited album trilogy", Green Carnation says. "A Dark Poem promises to take listeners to the highest tops as well as their darkest inner rooms. Its opening chapter begins in a melancholic place that we have long associated with our music".

STARACE Release Darkly Theatrical Music Video For "When The Light Has Gone"

Brazil’s fast-rising rock band StarAce have released the official music video for their second single “When The Light Has Gone”. In keeping with the swaggering, soul-stung shuffle of the track, the new video brings the song’s hypnotic heartbreak to life with bold visual storytelling and a surreal narrative twist. Directed by Brazilian filmmaker Thiago Siqueira, the film follows a femme fatale, played expertly by Brazilian actress Mariana Falopa, as she spirals through a dreamlike sequence of love, betrayal, and blurred realities—set to a soundtrack that blends gypsy jazz elegance with gritty rock ‘n’ roll swagger.

The visual narrative for “When The Light Has Gone” unfolds in two distinct acts: one grounded in a raw, sweat-soaked underground venue, and the other in a stylized, hallucinatory realm where the band appears as a gypsy jazz ensemble—mirroring the song’s seductive swing and jagged edges. Fans are pulled deep into the story’s layers as the central character attempts to bury her past—literally—and wrestles with the paradox of wanting to enchant and reject all at once. Offering further context for their new video, StarAce frontman Julio Starace explains:

“The idea for the ‘When The Light Has Gone’ video came up from the concept of a ‘sinister love,’ where a girl appears committing a crime, trying to bury her love, and goes on a trip in her head. The band is split into two acts—one real, one fantasy. We appear as a gypsy jazz band at one point, which contrasts with the ‘real’ StarAce playing a small, sweaty underground club. The audience holds flashlights as a reference to the song’s title. The end of the video is the BEST—we hope fans enjoy the revealing twist!”

“When The Light Has Gone” follows the band’s debut single “My America,” and continues to showcase their wide emotional and sonic range. Their upcoming full-length album, produced remotely by David Frangioni (Aerosmith, KISS, Ozzy Osbourne), will include 12 tracks spanning riff-driven anthems, vintage rock ’n’ roll, soul-bearing ballads, and even country-tinged moments. Today, the band has shared the video for the uptempo, punk rock anthem "Vacant." Watch the late-night dance party, inspired by a surprising source, below.

"For 'Vacant,' we drew upon our ever-present punk influences to create a sound that feels familiar while also introducing concepts new to us," the band states. "Though we're no strangers to breakdowns, the one in this song was inspired by grunge jam sections rather than hardcore/metalcore, and ended up becoming of the grooviest parts we've ever written."

The band finishes, "'Vacant' is cheeky, urgent, and energetic, and we wanted to reflect that visually with a lighthearted, un-serious music video. Inspired by Beyonce's '7/11' video, it showcases the three of us and our two touring members, Michael and Kirby, just hanging out. A simple concept, but it captures our genuine selves connecting and reconnecting with the song and each other as we have a late-night dance party."

Mawiza Release New Single featuring Gojira's Joe Duplantier

Integrating tribal rhythms and ancient instruments with modern groove metal has earned Mawiza recognition from the Chilean Grammys and respected elders like Mercyful Fate, Slipknot and Mastodon. But on their upcoming third album, these modern day Mapuche warriors are fighting to restore our balance with nature.

Today, Mawiza are releasing "Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan" as the third and final advanced single off ÜL. Though drawn from a place of deep sorrow, this earthshaking lament echoes the resilience of the band's ancestral land by taking up the fight alongside Mapuche tribespeople and Joe Duplantier from Olympian performers and Grammy winners Gojira.

"This song is a lament for indigenous people who are living in the city, far away from the land", Mawiza says. "But it's also a wake up call. Underneath the city, even when crushed by concrete, nature is always fighting to come out".

ÜL pays tribute to nature and Mawiza’s ancestors. "Ngulutu" recalls ancient battles between the Mapuche and the Spanish in Santiago, Chile. "Mamüll Reke", "Wenu Weychan", "Lhan Antü", and "Kalli Lhayay" are filled with rhythms and sounds reminiscent of the most hermetic rituals of the Mapuche people. They were used by shamans to induce trance and heal the sick, to communicate with and greet the spirits of the mountains.

Closing song "Ti Inan Paw-pawkan" features chants from members of Mawiza’s indigenous community, as well as Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier. It is here, during the album’s finale, that the band stake their claim as both indigenous and urban. The song acknowledges the mission entrusted to Mawiza by Mapuche authorities and by the land itself: to raise awareness about balance on Earth in an empowered way and to call for greater attentiveness to Mapuche territory. Otherwise, the consequences will be dire.

The ever-evolving, always revolving, world-wide entity known as Beauty In Chaos presents the latest offering from their latest album ‘Signs In The Heavens Reality Upside Down’, recently released via 33.3 Music Collective. 'Made Of Rain (Almost Acoustic)' features BIC alumni Ashton Nyte and Whitney Tai.

Based in Los Angeles, Beauty In Chaos formed in 2018 by guitarist Michael Ciravolo(formerly of Human Drama and Gene Loves Jezebel and current President of Schecter Guitars) with Grammy-nominated producer Michael Rozon (Ministry, Jarboe, Wayne Hussey, The Melvins), who also mixed and co-produced Ministry’s new ‘Squirrelly Years Revisited’ album.

In following with BIC's modus operandi, ‘Signs In The Heavens Reality Upside Down’is a supersized 29-track Limited Edition double-CD, featuring re-envisioned versions of tracks from their fourth studio release, 'Dancing With Angels', in addition to two bonus tracks ('Children Of The Revolution' featuring Ministry’s Al Jourgensen and 'Open Your Eyes', paying homage to T.Rex / Marc Bolan and The Lords of the New Church, respectively).

“I absolutely love that we are able to create these ‘stripped-down’ versions of some of our songs, and more so, just how well these are received by our loyal BIC Family! The original version is very special and is probably my favorite song on ‘Dancing With Angels’, but there is also something really beautiful about this ‘almost acoustic’ version," says BIC curator Michael Ciravolo.

"Ashton and Whitney’s ‘duet’ is simply stunning, their voices totally complimenting each other. This new stunning rendition offers a delicate and emotional take on the song’s original version (the closing track on 'Dancing With Angels'). Directed by Vicente Cordero (Industrialism Films), the warm endearing video was filmed by Fernando Cordero and edited by Ryan Conlon. Michael Ciravolo shares “As always, we strive to make the new video drastically different from its predecessor, and the simple ‘lounge’ setting seemed fitting for this intimate track, certainly a polar opposite to the bombastic sonic and visual overload of “Hollow”, and as usual, Vicente helped bring this vision to life!”

I love the organic elements present: the pedal steel, violin, and, of course, Whitney Tai's beautiful, ethereal voice elevate this piece, making it something transcendental. What more can you ask for?” asks Ashton Nyte of The Awakening, who will soon tour Europe in support of the band's self-titled album.

“Made Of Rain” is a warm amber glow in a velveteen speakeasy where tales of folk and longing send a message from the beyond. There’s a wisdom and a patience in Ashton’s voice. His lyrics swarmed in the magic of Beauty In Chaos’ production for the acoustic version hits different. Doing this duet with Ashton is a dream, as he is someone with the vocal tenacity of the wisest tree in the forest. Together, it felt like we planted wildflowers in a gentle field. What made this collab special for me apart from the music is the friendship that Michael, Ashton and I share. We are family and making art with feeling is at the forefront of our passions," says Whitney Tai, who appears on many BIC tracks. While defeating Cthulhu in "Necronomicon," GRAILKNIGHTS have collected all armoury to unleash their empowering new opus titled Forever, their first full-length release through PERCEPTION - A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. HIGH PARASITE - Featuring Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride - Releases New Single "Cold" + Music Video

Today, UK outfit HIGH PARASITE, led by Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride, unveil their brand-new single, “Cold.” Though previously unreleased, the track has become a staple of the band’s live set and arrives alongside a music video, available below.

Bassist/Vocalist Tombs comments on the single:

“'Cold' was lyrically inspired by Plato's analogy of the cave, an allegory used to illustrate the relationship between reality and illusion, the journey from ignorance to knowledge. The idea of a person realising too late in life that there is no God, no heaven, no hell, no divine retribution, no absolution, and the panic and anger they would feel when it dawns on them that they are truly alone and can only hold themselves responsible for their actions.”

Solo black metal project BLACKBRAID is now unveiling a new single, "The Dying Breath of a Sacred Stag," along with a music video via Black Metal Promotions! The clip was created by Wolf Mountain Productions (The Anti-label) and can be found at THIS LOCATION.

The song is taken from 'Blackbraid III,' will be released on August 8, 2025 independently! Vinyl and cassette formats, as well as new merch designs, can now be pre-ordered via Blackbraid.US & Blackbraid.EU while the album can be pre-saved across all streaming services HERE.

ICYMI: Blackbraid's new single "Wardrums at Dawn on the Day of my Death" is now streaming along with a music video at Black Metal Promotions! The video was created by Moshmallows and captures the haunting and primal nature of Blackbraid's live shows. Watch the clip below.

BLACKBRAID will also be embarking on a North American headliner later this year with support from Lamp of Murmuur and Dödsrit, with Gudsforladt replacing LoM as support for two Canadian dates. The trek will kick off on September 19 in San Diego, CA and will make its way around the U.S. + Canada until the final stop on October 11 in Los Angeles, CA. LOVE IS NOISE Releases Two Brand-New Tracks “Hole In Me” And “All Eyes Shut” — Out Now via Century Media

Following widespread acclaim for their February 2025 debut album 'To Live in a Different Way' released via Century Media Records, UK powerhouse LOVE IS NOISE returns with new music much sooner than fans might have expected. The band is dropping two brand-new tracks, “Hole In Me” and “All Eyes Shut,” along with an electrifying new music video for the lead single “Hole In Me,” available below.

Alongside the dual single release, LOVE IS NOISE is also unveiling what might be their strongest music video to date and officially introducing a new chapter in the band’s evolution. The updated lineup now includes Sam Clark (Bass), Alex Ioannou (Guitar), and Joe Pink(Drums), joining founding vocalist Cameron Humphrey to form the newly solidified quintet.

Cam shares about the new line-up:

“It’s an absolute pleasure to welcome Sam, Joe and Alex into the fold. They’ve been touring with LOVE IS NOISE over the past year and the chemistry we had between us all was unmatched. LOVE IS NOISE began its journey in 2021 as a collaboration between Humphrey and former guitarist Tom Mellon (who recently left the band to explore other musical endeavours) balancing the ethereal and intense. While sonic signposts include modern-day shoegaze as well as the likes of Glassjaw and Deftones, the band’s 2022 EP, 'Euphoria, Where Were You?' (released on FEVER 333 frontman Jason Aalon Butler’s 333 WRECKORDS CREW) pointed towards a soul-crushing sonic heartache all their own.

A string of singles led to the band inking with Century Media and beginning work on their debut album. LOVE IS NOISE released the first taste of new music with the acclaimed singles“Soft Glow,” “Jawbreaker” “To live in a different way, “take.one.minute,” and “It Hurts To Know You're There,” which appeared on numerous playlists across the streaming platforms and were featured on BBC Radio One, Kerrang! Radio and Total Rock. The band’s Century Media debut, ‘To live in a different way,’ straddles the roughshod riffing and volume of their DIY origins while embracing shoegaze-facing melodiousness, hints of Brit-pop, and a beating (and bleeding) heart erupting from Cam Humphrey’s plaintive vocals.
