MALEVOLENCE - Release Video For New Single 'Salt The Wound'

Steel City Kings MALEVOLENCE have released a new single from their massively anticipated new album, Where Only The Truth Is Spoken, which is set to be released on the 20th June via MLVLTD in partnership with Nuclear Blast Records.

Compared to the punishing previous singles, 'Trenches' and 'If It's All The Same To You' the brand new release 'Salt The Wound' shows a more emotional side of MALEVOLENCE, but that only makes its incredibly heavy chorus stand out even more.

Alex Taylor (vocals) commented:
'Salt The Wound' is the product of us making a conscious decision to bridge the two faces of Malevolence. On one hand we have the heavy aggressive side, and on the other we have the slower melodic songs, so we wanted a song that could combine the two.

The video was entirely shot in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. From the industrial depths of Sheffield, a 900-year-old ruined Abbey, to a perfect sunrise over some of the incredible hills of Derbyshire, there is some incredible scenery in the north of the UK which we sometimes take for granted, so this song felt like the perfect opportunity to show case some of that.

From the moment I heard the guitar solo Josh had written for this song, I pictured him on a mountain top doing the solo, so we made it happen, Malev style!

ABOUT MALEVOLENCE

MALEVOLENCE have never waited for permission. From the underground to festival main stages, they’ve built their reputation on sheer force of will, crushing live shows, and an unshakable foundation of heavy riffs and harder work. Now, with their fourth studio album Where Only The Truth Is Spoken, Sheffield’s finest step into a new league.

Recorded in California at Dave Grohl’s legendary Studio 606, the album was tracked through the iconic Neve 8078 console, the same desk that captured game-changing records like Nirvana’s Nevermind, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, and Tom Petty’s Wildflowers. For a band that’s always pushed forward without compromise, it was the perfect setting to carve out a record that represents everything MALEVOLENCE stands for. The album marks a new level of songwriting precision without sacrificing the band’s trademark weight. Working alongside Grammy Award-winning producer Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Gojira, Trivium), the result is MALEVOLENCE at their most punishing, urgent, and anthemic.

Lyrically, Where Only The Truth Is Spoken reflects the principles that MALEVOLENCE have lived by since day one—honesty, loyalty, and integrity. These are not just themes woven into the album but values the band holds in their personal and professional lives. This record doesn’t deal in facades or empty gestures; it’s an unfiltered expression of the struggles, victories, and unshakable brotherhood that have carried them this far.

MALEVOLENCE - Announce New Album 'Where Only The Truth Is Spoken' + Release Music Video For 'If It's All The Same To You'

Steel City Kings MALEVOLENCE have announced the details of their hugely anticipated new album, Where Only The Truth Is Spoken, set to be released on June 20th via MLVLTD in partnership with Nuclear Blast Records.

Alongside the news of their new album, MALEVOLENCE have also released the video for their monumental new single 'If It's All The Same To You'. Featuring acting legend Alan Ford, who most famously appeared as Brick Top in Guy Ritchie's classic British gangster film Snatch, the band's new video is their biggest visual production to date. It sees the five-piece take on an elaborate art heist, before engaging in a white-knuckle car chase with the Police. There may even be some easter eggs to be found throughout that hint at what MALEVOLENCE have in store for the future.

On their new album, the band comments:

"'Where Only the Truth Is Spoken’ is a level up in every sense—musically, lyrically, and visually. This was our first time recording outside the UK, and doing it in LA with Josh Wilbur was fun and refreshing. He’s worked with some of the biggest names in metal, and his approach pushed us to challenge new heights. The production, the songwriting, the videos—everything about this record is bigger, heavier, and more refined.

Everything in Malevolence is, and always has been, a team effort and I feel like everyone really delivered on this record.

To everyone who supports what we do, thank you. It goes without saying that we wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for your overwhelming support. I’m excited to see where the journey goes next!

Made in God’s own country,
Where Only The Truth Is Spoken"

MALEVOLENCE - Release Video For New Single 'Trenches'

Sheffield’s metal powerhouse MALEVOLENCE have unleashed their brand-new single, 'TRENCHES,' embodying the raw resilience and grit of their Steel City roots. This standalone track is the first glimpse of their partnership with Grammy-winning producer Josh Wilbur, known for his work with heavyweights like LAMB OF GOD, KORN, and GOJIRA. Amplifying their Northern backdrop, MALEVOLENCE also collaborated with in-demand director duo Double or Nothing Productions for a Metal video debut that demonstrates their unique identity in British Metal.

Vocalist Alex Taylor comments: "Trenches is possibly the most aggressive, ignorant, and direct song we have ever written. Over the last few years, we’ve been playing more in the commercial metal circuit at festivals and arenas, so we wanted to take this opportunity to remind people that we still haven’t lost sight of where we came from. The lyrics are a declaration of not needing validation or approval, and a rejection of those who never supported the journey but only show their face when you achieve some level of success.”

MALEVOLENCE - Release 'Higher Place' Feat. Espera (Sleep Token) Live Video From The Forum, London 2023

Malevolence are set to shut down cities across the UK, starting tomorrow with a full-on, 11-date club tour, featuring New York’s Pain Of Truth and MLVLTD’s finest Rough Justice. The run is now almost completely sold out, with the Liverpool venue recently upgraded due to high demand.

In celebration, the UK's reigning champs of heavy metal present a special memento from their sold-out UK tour dates last November. Malevolence have released an intoxicating live performance video of 'Higher Place' featuring Espera of Sleep Token, from their monumental show at The Forum, London. The performance reimagines one of Malevolence’s more emotionally charged songs from their current album Malicious Intent.

Watch 'Higher Place' feat. Espera of Sleep Token (Live At The Forum, London 2023): BELOW

Malevolence vocalist Alex Taylor commented:

“We always relish the opportunity to do something special and different, so it was a privilege to have the Espera girls join us on stage for ‘Higher Place’ at our biggest ever headline show. The idea spawned when the group tagged us in a reel of themselves singing ‘Higher Place’ on Instagram - we immediately knew that we had to do it live together. We can’t thank them enough for coming down and being part of something so special in Malevolence history!”

Malevolence will also be gracing the Main Stage of Bloodstock Festival later this year:

10 Aug  UK   Derbyshire, Bloodstock Festival

After completely selling out their UK headline tour in November of last year and blowing away audiences at the likes of Download and Bloodstock Festival UK, throughout Trivium's recent UK/European tour, some Lamb Of God European shows, a USA run with Jinjier and POD, and at Knotfest Australia, the British bruisers are pumped for more live action and have a big 2024 in the works.

THY ART IS MURDER and FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY make the following joint statement:

"Before we had even completed work on 'The Depressions Sessions' we knew a lifelong friendship had been forged between THY ART IS MURDER and FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, and that we would have to do another variation of the project. 'The Aggression Sessions' concept was born almost immediately following the completion of the first iteration but has taken many years to finally find the time to record and release it amidst the chaotic touring and music release schedules of both bands. We wanted to take things back to some of our favorite inspirations for writing and performing heavy and aggressive music this time, encapsulating the tone of the EP title. We hope everyone enjoys!

Joining us for round 2, please welcome
MALEVOLENCE into the series. Much love to The Acacia Strain, and thank you to them for being a part of this lineage. Check out their new forthcoming record as well!

Working with friends and peers and avoiding the pitfalls of competitiveness has always been the most rewarding part of being in a band, so as always thank you for the support and opportunity to have this platform. See you all on the road soon!"

FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY states, "'Hellions' was a fun look back at some of our more brutal and fast-paced roots more akin to our earlier material. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Hellbound, the record which we all collectively feel really started things in motion for the band. It was a blast to channel the energy and excitement we had at that time back into our music in 2023. It’s only natural for bands to evolve and expand their sound over time, but we never forgot where we came from, so this one is for those who were here from day one!"

ABOUT BEARTOOTH:
Beartooth, the band Forbes declared is "inching towards a tipping point of becoming the latest arena headliner," dropped their latest anthem "RIPTIDE" in 2022 and it saw frontman Caleb Shomo put the pain of the past in the rearview mirror as he takes the steering wheel from fate to command his own destiny. The track memorializes the struggle with mental health and self-acceptance, which has defined so much of Beartooth since its inception. Shomo started this band in his basement, playing all the instruments to challenge and purge inner darkness, purely for himself at first. As the band he assembled to play the songs traveled, they discovered how many people recognized the same demons.  As KERRANG! observed, "Caleb Shomo is one of his generation's most remarkable songwriters." It's a testament to the purity of intention manifested by the multi-instrumentalist from the start. Songs like "The Past is Dead," "Fed Up," and "In Between" have pushed BEARTOOTH past a billion streams. The band's fourth album, Below, topped the Rock, Hard Music, and Alternative charts in 2021 and found its way into Best Rock/Metal Albums of the Year lists assembled by the likes of Revolver, Rock Sound, Loudwire, Knotfest, and a slew of like-minded media outlets. The band also graced its first Revolver cover in Summer 2021. Beartooth's marriage of colossally catchy choruses and post-hardcore-soaked-in-sweaty-metal is without rival. Its effect is evident by their deeply engaged audience; tours with Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, and A Day To Remember; and an RIAA-certified gold plaque.

ABOUT TRIVIUM:
Trivium released their tenth full-length, In the Court of the Dragon, through longtime label Roadrunner Records in 2021. The record was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur. The band has continued to receive International acclaim from The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Billboard, KERRANG!, NME, TechCrunch, Kotaku, Alternative Press, Revolver, and more. That's because Trivium have been steadily building a rock solid foundation. The band released its now-canonical album Ascendancy in 2005. It was recognized as KERRANG!'s "Album of the Year," achieved a gold certification in the UK, and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. It ignited a string of six consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and five straight Top 3 debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, culminating on 2017's benchmark The Sin And The Sentence. That album elevated the group's total stream tally past a quarter-of-a-billion. Additionally, "Betrayer" received a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of "Best Metal Performance." They followed with What the Dead Men Say in 2020, which landed the band on several year-end "Best Of" lists. Through the years, Trivium performed alongside Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and many others and graced the main stages of Download, Bloodstock, KNOTFEST, and more. After two decades, 10 albums, hundreds of sold out shows, and nearly a billion catalog streams on Spotify, Trivium actualize the all-encompassing ambition they first set in motion back in 1999.

MALEVOLENCE - RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR'HIGHER PLACE'+ ALTERNATIVE ACOUSTIC VERSION

With their critically acclaimed new studio album Malicious Intent, MALEVOLENCE has staked out their place as one of contemporary metal's heavyweight acts.

These rising UK stars are now out to conquer the world, undertaking a huge run of major live dates this summer and into 2023. After blowing away audiences at the likes of Download Festival UK, Knotfest Germany, and the Bring Me The Horizon Malta Weekender, following on from a UK arena tour with ARCHITECTS and SLEEP TOKENl, the British bruisers are pleased to announce more shows.

Malevolence has revealed two new headline shows this August, in Colchester (UK) and Paris (FR), before they launch into two German shows supporting LAMB OF GOD, followed by an Australian run in September with THY ART IS MURDER, CARNIFEX, and I AM. The band will also be accompanying TRIVIUM on their extensive EU tour leg, with HEAVEN SHALL BURN and OBITUARY, following on from the UK shows.

To support these dates, the band has today released a brand new video to accompany the album highlight "Higher Place". Showing off their creative breadth, the single breaks with their usual aggressive metal swagger. "Higher Place" is a show-stopping, southern groove-flavored ballad.

Front-man Alex Taylor commented,
"'Higher Place' focuses on a subject that everyone will deal with at some point in loss; death/bereavement. This is one most heartfelt songs we have written as a band, however, once we began writing this song, it came together very naturally. This song is a huge step outside our comfort zone, we hope you enjoy it!
The visuals for this song were our first venture into a narrative-driven video, filmed in our hometown of Sheffield. We worked closely with Enon Films to bring the concept to life.

Video Director Gabriel Fernández-Gil commented,
"The song inspired sorrow, drama, and a dark epicness, which is what guided us in the making of this video.
In the story, you'll be able to identify themes of loss, revenge, and the UK's knife-crime epidemic.
As the lyrics and instrumentation, our characters "ascend" to different metaphorical planes of existence or lack thereof."

To accompany the video, the band has released an alternative acoustic version of "Higher Place" digitally, giving fans yet another glimpse into MALEVOLENCE's bottomless artistic flair.

The undisputed Heavy Metal Kings of the UK.
In early 2020 came the highly anticipated EP release, The Other Side, introducing a brand-new side of MALEVOLENCE. Although only 3 tracks, each song showcased a depth and diversity that is uncommon in modern metal. Heart-wrenching ballads are blended perfectly with technical shredding and crushing breakdowns, effortlessly showcasing the band's talent as genuine songwriters. Despite the hard-fought success, MALEVOLENCE remains an autonomous crew. Operating from their Sheffield-based HQ, a previously derelict warehouse the band transformed themselves, MALEVOLENCE handles as much of their in-house operations as they possibly can. Including the formation and operation of MALEVOLENCE’s own label, MLVLTD Music. It was through this label that the band self-released The Other Side and although it was a first for the band, the release was a resounding success - racking up close to half a million streams on Spotify and Apple Music in its first few weeks of release.

MALEVOLENCE fans will know that their records come few and far between. Emerging onto the scene in 2013 with their debut album Reign of Suffering, which is currently climbing above 2.15 million streams on Spotify. Released as teenagers, the level of song crafting skill stands the test of time and remains a defining moment in the band’s career. The next four years had MALEVOLENCE grinding their way through the European continent, gaining recognition as one of the hottest prospects in this new wave of international heavy metal. 2017’s Self Supremacy saw the Sheffield quintet selling out club shows all over Europe, the USA, and Southeast Asia/Japan. This in turn has earned them a cult-like following of die-hard fans, who wear the MALEVOLENCE logo on their clothing like a medal of honor.

Now waiting with brand-new album Malicious Intent and plans to tour amongst some of the biggest names in heavy music, MALEVOLENCE is poised to become the next legacy name in all of heavy music.
