Lord Of The Lost Join Savage Lands on Breathtaking New Single

As Savage Lands prove on their breathtaking new single,  metalheads aren't ones to back down from a fight. After witnessing how land developers are tearing down Costa Rica's rain forest, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and his old guitarist Sylvain Demercastel decided they weren't going to sit around and rust in peace. In 2022, they started Savage Lands, the music industry's first artist-run environmental non-profit.

Using the money that's generated by their music, Savage Lands has preserved 100,000 square feet of Costa Rican rain forest. 100% of the royalties from the organization's star-studded album, Army of the Trees, support their ongoing preservation projects in Costa Rica and other countries. But as they warn on their crushing new single with Lord Of The Lost and Chloe Trujillo, if we don't act fast and protect our ecosystems, then pretty soon, we won't just be out of time. We'll be out of breath.

"Out of Breath" marks the first time that Lord Of The Lost and Savage Lands have appeared together on a record, but the Eurovision darlings are one of the organization's earliest supporters. "When Sylvain Demercastel and Dirk Verbeuren introduced us to Savage Lands at Hellfest in 2023, we instantly saw the passion and necessity behind this endeavor and were absolutely thrilled by the opportunity", says Chris Harms and Pi Stoffers from Lord Of The Lost. "Music can not only offer a refuge to every single person on this earth, but it can be used as a sanctuary for the existential nature around us".

The video tones down the glam and glitter with its dystopian footage, but Harms screams with bloody conviction alongside the explosive wails of Black Bomb A and Savage Lands vocalist Poun. "We loved writing this song, as it was yet again another stylistic facet that we haven't necessarily touched already", Lord Of The Lost continues. The song's bridge craters under the cavernous weight of Harms' death growls. "We're left for dead"

But not all hope is lost. From the ashes of Stoffers' smoldering solo alights a familiar voice. "Look at the sky", beckons Chloe Trujillo, who reprises her mystic role from earlier single "Black Rock Heart". "A place to breath / People and trees". It's a chilling reminder of all we stand to lose.

“Our goals are attainable,” Sylvain and Dirk say. “By converting the land that we purchase into nature sanctuaries, Savage Lands will help set a precedent for environmental activism. But we must work together and quickly. Ecosystems are still under attack. If we don’t, then there won’t be any wildlife left to save”.

Raise your horns and join the Army of the Trees in support of the metal non-profit.

Just listening to "Out of Breath" helps support Savage Lands. 100% of the song’s royalties fund the musician-run non-profit’s preservation efforts.

German Eurovision Representatives LORD OF THE LOST Release New Music Video for “Forever Lost”

Performing Live at the Biggest Music Contest in the World, the ESC Finals in Liverpool,

Broadcast Worldwide on May 13, 2023!

Germany’s Eurovision Song Contest 2023 representatives, LORD OF THE LOST, have revealed a brand-new music video for “Forever Lost”, cut from their latest #1 charting album 'Blood & Glitter'! The captivating music video consists of shocking news content from around the world, reflecting on the current state of the planet and society, and impending doom.

After being announced as support for heavy metal legends Iron Maiden again on their upcoming European tour, and with their first-ever #1 debut on the Official German Album Charts, 2023 was already set to be a game-changing year in the history of LORD OF THE LOST. Then, in March, the Hamburg/St. Pauli based five-piece took part in the German Eurovision Song Contest preliminary rounds with their track “Blood & Glitter” - winning the most public votes by a long shot. Now, the band is prepared to bring its glamorous party combining glam rock and metal to the finals in Liverpool on May 13, 2023.

LORD OF THE LOST on “Forever Lost”:

“With all the hustle that's going on around the band and us as individuals in particular, it felt important to take a step back with the new video for 'Forever Lost'. The video we had planned originally was a completely different one - but we've changed our minds, to put the focus on the things that REALLY matter.”

Watch the Official Music Video for Forever Lost

LORD OF THE LOST say to their fans and everyone who took part in the show:

BLOOD & GLITTER is ‘Our song for Liverpool’!

"THANK YOU for everything! We are not the best band in the world (they already exist), but we are the band with the best fans in the world: YOU!

"Thanks also to everyone who made this show possible. Since there are too many names, summarized: NDR, ARD, Bildergarten TV, everyone orbiting in the orbit of this event and our crew!

"And greatest respect, thanks and love to you: Anica Russo, René Miller, Will Church, Patty Gurdy, Trong, Frida Gold, Lonely Spring and Ikke Hüftgold. From day 1 of the rehearsals, we lived the spirit of the ESC: UNITED BY MUSIC. With each other – not against each other.”

On the band’s eighth album, LORD OF THE LOST enter a new era of exciting 70s glam rock visuals, and add a blend of 80s new wave and pop influences as well as gothic and electronic elements to their own, relevant modern metal style, impressing both fans and critics.

LORD OF THE LOST live 2023:

After a full year of touring, including a support tour for Iron Maiden, a headline tour, an acoustic tour, several festival appearances and the band's own Lordfest, LORD OF THE LOST were once again invited by the legendary Iron Maiden to be direct support on their European tour in 2023, beyond major festival and club appearances.

LORD OF THE LOST Releases Final Music Video of the JUDAS Era - “A World Where We Belong”!

The Highly Acclaimed Album is Available NOW!

Homecoming Tour of Europe

Kicks Off in Early October 2022

Only a few weeks after their European tour as support for the legendary Iron Maiden, LORD OF THE LOST are about to hit European stages again – this time on a full headline tour through nine countries, supported by label mates Nachtblut and Scarlet Dorn.

Today the band has released the final official video taken from their most successful studio album to date, JUDAS (2021, #2 Official German Album Charts).

The video for “A World Where We Belong” revisits the aesthetics from the very first video of the JUDAS cycle, The Death Of All Colors, and therewith perfectly closes this shining era of LORD OF THE LOST.

LORD OF THE LOST state:

"With 'A World Where We Belong', we visually close the JUDAS era as it began with 'A Death Of All Colours'. The dreariness of these videos involuntarily reflects the feeling in which JUDAS was released. It was pandemic times without concerts - everything looked gray and hopeless - quite in contrast to the outstanding success of this album! We would like to end this feeling with this last video and jump into our HOMECOMING TOUR with joy and passion! We are coming home, home to you on tour! And we are looking forward to it irrepressibly!"

LORD OF THE LOST Releases New Video for Cover of Iron Maiden’s “Children Of The Damned”

Featuring Footage of European Summer Tour with Iron Maiden!

German genre-fusing visionaries LORD OF THE LOST recently finished  up their summer tour of Europe with the legendary Iron Maiden! As one their biggest performances so far, the band conquered the stages of Europe’s largest metropolises. Now, to round off the end of the tour, the band has revealed a brand new video for their recent cover of Iron Maiden’s “Children of the Damned”, cut from their The Heartbeat Of The Devil EP released earlier this year. The video includes footage of some of the tour’s most electrifying moments, paying homage to Iron Maiden and their experiences together on tour. In total, LORD OF THE LOST played 18 concerts with Iron Maiden in 16 countries for over half a million people. Fans can celebrate this great achievement and experience the band’s thrilling road adventures with the “Children of the Damned” video - out now!

Watch the Video for “Children of the Damned”

The Heartbeat Of The Devil EP begins with the single version of “The Heartbeat of The Devil”, and closes with a striking piano version of the same song. Rounding out the center of the EP are three cover versions of iconic songs: “Children Of The Damned” by Iron Maiden, who LORD OF THE LOST supported on 18 dates of the band’s European tour after the release of the EP, “Judas” by Lady Gaga and “Wig In A Box” from famed rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. These iconic songs are reinvented and transformed by the dark atmosphere of LORD OF THE LOST’s trademark sound.

The Heartbeat Of The Devil follows both JUDAS (2021, #2 GER) and Thornstar (2018, #6 GER), which repeatedly solidified LORD OF THE LOST as visionaries unafraid to express themselves outside of the norm. Their nonconformism is undoubtedly a key point of their attraction and distinction, and their sophisticated sonic universe sets them apart from all other bands in the genre -- manifesting as controversial in the best possible way.

LORD OF THE LOST on The Heartbeat Of The Devil:

“With the pandemic and the unplanned free time – you can spontaneously record three cover versions of songs that move you at the moment. But why these three songs? "Judas" by Lady Gaga should be self-explanatory due to the title overlap with our current album. "Children Of The Damned" is a nod to our summer tour hosts Iron Maiden, who booked us as a support band. And "Wig In A Box"... well, if you don't know the movie musical 'Hedwig And The Angry Inch', you should definitely change that. We saw the movie one day and one of us yelled, 'let's cover that song!' - and as it always is with us, every spontaneous idea is put into action. Or at least it's tried."

LORD OF THE LOST Reveals Cover of Lady Gaga's "Judas", Cut from Upcoming EP Out May 6, 2022

German genre-fusing visionaries LORD OF THE LOST return in 2022 with a new EP, The Heartbeat of The Devil! Out May 6, 2022 via Napalm Records, the EP not only features two versions of its title track, which was first released on the band’s most recent full-length – the conceptual masterpiece JUDAS – but three cover songs encompassing the band’s free-thinking attitude.

Today, the band has released the first cover track from the new EP – a cover of “Judas” by Lady Gaga – an artist that has inspired frontman Chris Harms for years. LORD OF THE LOST managed to make this song their own while keeping the main structures of the song alive, adding retro synthesizer sounds, double bass passages, and a combination of growling screams and clear vocals.

Chris Harms on “Judas”:

"Lady Gaga has caused me many sleepless nights in the past. That's meant differently than that may sound at first – her songs stay in my head and stick to my heart, as do few other artists. There they remain, for very long. That's why it is very exciting to me to interpret such a song vocally myself, always knowing that in today's world, it's not impossible for the result to be heard by the original artist herself. Sounds a lot like fanboy action – it actually is."

LORD OF THE LOST Set a Sign for Peace with New Song "Not My Enemy"

In Response to the War in Ukraine

As a direct reaction to the war in Ukraine, LORD OF THE LOST set a sign for peace and international understanding with new music. Shortly after the first attacks on Ukrainian targets became known, the band around Chris Harms set out to express their thoughts and feelings through a new song and to make a clear statement for peace. To release the song as soon as possible, the accompanying music video was shot by the band with selfie cams instead of their usual large-scale production.

Throughout the years, the German band has repeatedly taken steadfast positions on social issues and expressed their solidarity with disadvantaged groups of people.

LORD OF THE LOST WILL DONATE ALL PROFITS FOR THIS SONG TO REFUGEES FROM THIS WAR!

LORD OF THE LOST on the current conflict and "Not My Enemy":

"What's happening in the world right now is not a war of people. It's a war of the authorities. Civilians of different backgrounds are dying and suffering because of this war - inside Ukraine and outside. No human being chooses before birth within which borders they will be born. No border, which is held, moved or broken by the bloodhounds of the autocrats of this world, is worth that sisters and brothers, mothers and fathers hate each other and that innocent children are born and raised into these paradigms and ideologies. This hatred does not begin in a conflict like this, fueled by censorship, information warfare, and fake news - this hatred begins in the minds of each of us, as well as in the comment columns of increasingly anti-social networks. Especially in days like these, as well as in the years to come, it is even more important to understand that the only thing that separates us is what we allow to happen, yet at the core, everything unites us.

You’re not my enemy, you’re a part of me. You’re not my enemy, wherever you come from, whatever you look like and whatever you believe in. You’re not my enemy!

This song was created as an immediate reaction from us, shortly after the attack on Ukraine. We produced and released it as soon as possible in the hopes that it would touch and make people think. If even one person is reached with it, it was already worth it.”

#notmyenemy

“I don’t believe in their borders or sides

Our bond will never be torn by their fights”

“You’re not my enemy for we can see

We are sharing the same sky

Yes our mother tongue may be different

But our yearnings unify”

LORD OF THE LOST Releases Gripping Music Video for “My Constellation”, Featuring Criminal Biologist Dr. Mark Bene

New Studio Album, JUDAS, Out Now

Order NOW!

Live-Stream BluRay/DVD, The Sacrament of Judas, out on December 10, 2021

Today, LORD OF THE LOST once again provides a music video of the utmost quality and direction, arriving just before their upcoming Christmas store livestream on November 18. With the surprise music video for "My Constellation", LORD OF THE LOST present a gripping, cinematic Christmas blockbuster that first spreads contemplation through frontman Chris Harms' mesmerizing voice before subsequently ending in a shockingly unusual case, unraveled by the expertise of famous forensic biologist Dr. Mark Benecke.

This summer marked the release of their most successful album to date, JUDAS (#2 on the German album charts), and LORD OF THE LOST is set to publish their nearly two-hour Sinister Summer streaming concert, The Sacrament of Judas, on BluRay, out December 10, 2021. Their latest video for "My Constellation" joins a great lineup of impressive videos released by LORD OF THE LOST this year. Foremost among them are the successful videos for "Viva Vendetta", of which the Hamburg-based band has released in two versions, each with a brand new respective production.

Chris Harms from LORD OF THE LOST about the new video:

„This video is so absurd, I can't even add anything to it.“

Watch the official video for “My Constellation”

On their new offering JUDAS, LORD OF THE LOST draw the listener into a conflict that has lasted for thousands of centuries and is as old as mankind itself: The conflict between good and evil. On JUDAS, LORD OF THE LOST tell of this conflict from the perception of the character of Judas Iskarioth, known as highly diverse, and the so-called Gospel of Judas, a paper that's said to consist of conversations between Jesus Christ and Judas Iskarioth and casts a different light on religious history as it's told in the Bible's New Testament.

LORD OF THE LOST on JUDAS:

“Don’t judge a book by its cover. This sentence could hardly apply any better to someone in theological history than to the figure of Judas Iskarioth, who represents only one thing at first glance: Betrayal. If you take a closer look, almost endless possibilities of interpretation open up here: from "Judas the murderer" to "Judas the redeemer" and "Judas the actual martyr", who, if you believe in it, could only find room in hell for his salvific betrayal after dying for what he did, in complete contrast to Jesus Christ. This field of tension and the apocryphal writings of the "Gospel of Judas" are the basis for a double album that not only illuminates the dark and light side of history, but above all the grey areas in between, in which we move emotionally and ideologically throughout our lives and try to find our place.”

LORD OF THE LOST blur the lines between good and evil with their magnum

opus JUDAS

JUDAS sets off with atmospheric “Priest”, followed by “For They Know Not What They Do”, making clear right from the beginning that all the songs can be experienced the most organic and vivid way: A genuine, unique choir accompanies singer Chris Harms, whose multi-dimensional voice delivers the haunting lyrics straight into the listener’s mind more strongly than ever. Songs like “Your Star Has Led You Astray” or “Born With a Broken Heart” easily manage to keep the balance between harsh vocals, the distorted sound of fuzz guitars and an overall dark atmosphere that LORD OF THE LOST is known for, whilst “Death Is Just a Kiss Away”, “My Constellation” and closing “Work of Salvation”, for example, put grand piano tunes, authentic strings and the sound of a massive organ recorded in a church in the most suitable focus.

JUDAS marks the successor of chart-breaking Thornstar (2018, #6 GER), and again breathes the innovative spirit of five musicians who are far away from setting boundaries into their very own unique art. LORD OF THE LOST has never been that type of creative force that’s pinned to any specific genre and has succeeded in surprising fans and critics with their nonconformism repeatedly over the years. With their new album, JUDAS, LORD OF THE LOST manage to thematically blur the lines between good and evil and put the so called “salvific treason” into a harmonious soundscape unlike ever heard before - truly an magnum opus!

LORD OF THE LOST Present Elaborate Music Video for “Viva Vendetta

New Album, JUDAS (#2 GER Charts), Out Now

Get Your Copy HERE

LORD OF THE LOST released their new album, JUDAS, on July 2 – subsequently securing the band’s highest ever charting position at #2 on the German album charts. Even after this success, the Hamburg based band isn’t taking a break – following up with their most elaborate music video ever.

"Viva Vendetta" forms the basis of the double bonus album, LOTL+, which was included with some already sold-out physical album formats. LOTL+ consists of 32 versions by befriended bands and artists based on the instrumental tracks from "Viva Vendetta". None of the artists were privy to the album concept or any further info on JUDAS, resulting in 32 fundamentally different versions.

The video for the album version of "Viva Vendetta" is set in a dark western scenario, in which the band members take on different roles: a blacksmith, a priest, a sheriff, a bartender and a hermit. They are all haunted by a dark entity, already known from the videos for "Priest" and "For They Know Not What They Do". No matter where we stand in society, we are all equal before higher powers - this message is conveyed in a music video that is over seven minutes long and meets the highest cinematic standards.

Whether the five lonely cowboys in "Viva Vendetta" are cursed and damned by the protagonist, or saved and redeemed, can be interpreted either way in the end. Thus, even a Wild West music short film creates the actually absurd connection to the album concept of the Damnation and Salvation of Judas Iscariot.

LORD OF THE LOST on the new video:

"Even though we managed to transfer the basic theme of our JUDAS concept to the “Viva Vendetta” video, many may still ask what a western has to do with the topic, or us as a band at all. The answer is quite simple: Nothing at all! We just felt like the visual aesthetic of our own little Tarantino fantasy mashup. And that's exactly what should drive an artist at heart: The desire to create, freed from all boundaries, especially your own."

JUDAS is available in North America in the following formats:

LORD OF THE LOST Releases Third Single and Controversial Official Video for “The Gospel Of Judas”

New Double Album, JUDAS, to be Released this Friday

Get Your Copy NOW!

“And nothing do they know!”

German visionaries LORD OF THE LOST set free another visually stunning piece of art with the impressive music video for their third single “The Gospel Of Judas”, cut from their brand new double album JUDAS, to be unveiled this Friday!

After releasing the first single “Priest”, followed by sophomore “For They Know Not What They Do” (with nearly a combined 900k views on YouTube), the German frontrunners prove their exceptional standing as free spirits and artists once more, far away from any sort of genre boundaries and musical fetters. The new music video for "The Gospel Of Judas”serves as a strong statement against discrimination and oppression of any kind, further illustrating the unit’s outspoken support of the LGBTQIA+ community and related hypocrisies in society and religion.

Together, all songs on LORD OF THE LOST’s "Magnum Opus" (La Heavy Magazine), JUDAS, form a grand narrative of black and white, good and evil, and loud and quiet, that represent the band’s most innovative and mature record to date!

Pi Stoffers on the video for “The Gospel Of Judas”:

"The biblical figure "Judas Iskarioth" is considered in the conventional narrative of the Bible not only as a traitor, but above all as "the outcast". Our song "The Gospel Of Judas" is primarily about this designation, but in a social sense rather than a biblical one. While we like to boast about being tolerant, open-minded and individual, it is mainly these people who live out their individual way of loving, believing and looking, who are outcast by society.

Why? Because there is no way to assign these people to a pigeonhole, which people desperately seek in order not to feel disoriented themselves, or to have to question them. However, we would like to question whether it is important at all to be able to categorize people, let alone oneself. The real strength lies in our diversity and individuality. We have recognized that for ourselves as a band. And with "The Gospel Of Judas" we want to remind everyone that one's own limits only begin where one gives up one's individuality."

Watch the official video for “The Gospel Of Judas”

LORD OF THE LOST Releases Second Single and Official Video “For They Know Not What They Do”

New Studio Album, JUDAS, to be released on July 2, 2021

Pre-Order NOW!

For They Know Not What They Do!

German metal visionaries LORD OF THE LOST have released a second cinematic and visually stunning video for their second single, "For They Know Not What They Do". The new music video picks up where the first video for "Priest" (more than 400,000 views to date) leaves off. Together, the two videos form the start of a grand narrative of black and white, good and evil, and loud and quiet. These two pre-released singles are the first and second songs on the track list of the new double album JUDAS, and form the oeuvre to a "Magnum Opus" (La Heavy Magazine).

"For They Know Not What They Do", the second single from JUDAS proves that this new piece of art is musically and organically grown and has very lively highlights - including a choir, grand piano and string quintet - as well as a real church organ.

We Will Outlive Them!

Chris Harms on the new video:

"With ‘For They Know Not What They Do’, the audiovisual experience of ‘Priest’ is not only continued, but in a certain way, a cycle opens here which connects the two videos in their beginnings and endings. In addition, we have fulfilled a childhood dream here, because what musician would not like to be seen once as a ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ choir in the best QUEEN manner in his video..."

The Hamburg-based band's first music video for "Priest" has already reached over 400,000 views on YouTube within a short period of time.

LORD OF THE LOST prove that they have matured both musically and lyrically, and return with their seventh studio album, JUDAS, out July 2, 2021 via Napalm Records.

Genrefluid Visionaries LORD OF THE LOST to Release New Studio Album, “JUDAS”

LORD OF THE LOST to Release New Studio Album, JUDAS, on July 2, 2021 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order Starts NOW!

New Official Video for First Single, “Priest”, out Today

German genrefluid visionaries LORD OF THE LOST prove that they have matured both musically and lyrically, and return with their seventh studio album, JUDAS, out July 2, 2021 via Napalm Records.

With this remarkable offering, the five-piece cement their position as exceptional artists that can’t be pigeonholed once more, which their brand new harbinger and single “Priest”, out today, is already proof of. The very first song immediately unveils a leitmotif that runs through the whole record and serves as a uniting symbiosis for the double album, divided in two conceptual parts, Damnation and Salvation, with 24 songs in total.

Along with a highly sophisticated official video, the song draws the listener into a conflict that has lasted for thousands of centuries and is as old as mankind itself: The conflict between good and evil. On JUDAS, LORD OF THE LOST tell of this conflict from the perception of the character of Judas Iscariot, known as highly diverse, and the so-called Gospel of Judas, a paper that's said to consist of conversations between Jesus Christ and Judas Iscariot and casts a different light on religious history as it's told in the Bible's New Testament.

LORD OF THE LOST on the new single and video:

“With ‘Priest’, we dive deep into a visual world that is meant to convey the very core emotion of the upcoming album, JUDAS, to the viewer. This comes along with a story that leaves room for many means of interpretation while keeping the purpose of the album concept. The artist XELANAH shines as the protagonist here, symbolically representing the emotional tension of the figure of Judas Iscariot. That role will also appear and continue in further videos, just like you know it from, for example, AEROSMITH. The song itself manages to unite all the emotion and soundscape that makes up the album - a cinematic trailer for the ears. And even a deliberately placed GENESIS quote from the mouth of Judas himself is suddenly seen in a completely new light.”

Part of the video for “Priest” was shot in the so-called Einhornhöhle (engl. unicorn cave) in Germany back in August 2020. LORD OF THE LOST continue introducing their female protagonist and artwork model, a process that was already set free with the teaser video for“The Death Of All Colours”, and weaves the common thread of JUDAS visually as well. She represents the inner conflict of good and evil that can be interpreted in several ways.

LORD OF THE LOST on JUDAS:

“Don’t judge a book by its cover. This sentence could hardly apply any better to someone in theological history than to the figure of Judas Iscariot, who represents only one thing at first glance: Betrayal. Dark Metal sensation LORD OF THE LOST just released a new official video for “We Were Young” featuring Heaven Can Wait Choir, cut from their latest classical ensemble album Swan Songs III.

The heart-wrenching version includes intimate reminiscences from Chris Harms’ childhood and showcases a touching new facet of their bold universe. Told through genuine memories and clearly narrated through the style of a vintage Super8 camera, the audiovisual symbolizes the most personal output to date. The outstanding band proves once again that the greatest inspiration and the best director is life itself.

"With the new video for 'We Were Young' I would like to say thank you to my parents. The video is a reflection of my happy childhood, thanks to them, which paved the way for me to become who I am today. The video shows real Super8 film footage from my birth in 1980 until 1994, when the magnetic tape slowly replaced the celluloid. In the credits of the video you can see the time before my birth, which my parents have captured on film for themselves since 1967. The director of this video was life itself and it shows here an origin story that could not have been more personal". - Chris Harms

The one-off version of "We Were Young", off their latest album, was created in cooperation with the senior choir Heaven Can Wait. The whole story, a lot of background details and many impressive shots can still be seen on the official ZDF Doku HERE and within the heart-wrenching live version HERE!

Swan Songs III, the long-awaited successor to Swan Songs II, was released via Napalm Records on August 7, 2020. The standard version of the album consists of new songs, all recorded with The Lord Of The Lost-Ensemble, and brand new versions of a hand-picked selection of LORD OF THE LOST classics, including the standout 18-minute-long song “Letters To Home”. For all Dark Metal connoisseurs, Swan Songs III comes with a high-quality deluxe box, including instrumental Swan Symphonies III-versions of all songs and previously unreleased demo versions of eight new songs. 2 bands, 10 musicians, 1 song - "Schwarz Tot Gold"!

Dark metal unites with punk rap in a way never seen before! LORD OF THE LOST and SWISS & DIE ANDERN open up a musical crossover universe that’s been left uncharted - until now.

Supposedly coming from different musical worlds, the Hamburg scene greats have joined forces to make a clear statement on the ravages of time with intelligent and socially critical texts! The contrast between punk rap and dark metal embodies the dichotomy of current socio-political issues and addresses them with a good dose of irony.

“Schwarz Tot Gold” (engl.: Black Dead Gold), referring to the colours of the German national flag (Schwarz, Rot, Gold = Black, Red, Gold), criticizes capitalist establishment and suppression of the vulnerable.

SWISS on the collaboration:

“’Schwarz Tot Gold' delivers a crossover mix from the core-oriented sound of both bands that has never been heard before in Germany. Two styles and bands meet each other, which are already pioneers of their own scenes themselves, but at first glance do not fit together. The result of this experiment is unique and groundbreaking for us so far.”

LORD OF THE LOST frontman Chris Harms on the background of the new single:

“This song was created detached from any album plans, neither from us nor from SWISS. This song was born out of the necessity to open your mouth. In Germany where splinter groups are spreading insanity and are actually talking about ‘Corona dictatorship’ and lack of freedom in the course of pandemic measures, we would like to draw attention to the REAL problems that have grown up over the years and that move this country - or slow it down. Especially as a band whose albums otherwise offer little fertile ground for social criticism in terms of content, it was a real relief, and an overdue time, to address these issues.”

The single will be available as 7'' vinyl and is digitally available everywhere now.

LORD OF THE LOST Ensemble Tour Announced for 2021!

We’re on the run

We’re leaving soon

One day we’re dying on the moon

“Dying On The Moon” is a beautiful ballad, perfectly performed by Chris Harms and Joy Frost, who’s voices complement each other perfectly in a bittersweet duet. Underlined by the classical The Lord Of The Lost Ensemble, the German Dark Metal maestros deliver a soulful and slightly desperate track that goes straight into the listeners heartstrings - an ode to trusting one’s soul’s decision and believing in yourself. The freshly released song is accompanied by a music video, inspired by technical achievements of the 60s and the moon landing, kept in black and white.

After teaming up on multiple songwriting and composing collaborations with LORD OF THE LOST in the past on tracks such as “Voodoo Doll” or “Ribcages”, for the first time ever, the voice of US American Singer / Songwriter Joy Frost appears on a song by the band. “Dying On The Moon” is the third single taken off the new classical ensemble album Swan Songs III, to be released on August 7th.

Chris Harms on the collaboration with Joy Frost on ”Dying On The Moon”:

"After so many years of knowing each other and writing songs together, it was time to bring Joy in the spot light of the LOTL cosmos. I love her voice so much, I could listen to her all day. Whatever she sings, it sounds good. Anything.“

Joy Frost adds:

"Chris and I have known each other since 2015. The summer when we first met, I was in the front row of his classroom as one of his audio engineering students. I remember dreaming about becoming a songwriter for his band during class, but at the time it was just a fantasy. Five years later, we’ve not only written several songs together but now he’s asked me to step out onto the stage with him as his duet partner. I feel sincerely thankful to have earned his trust in both music and friendship.“

LORD OF THE LOST returns with the newest offering in their classic ensemble album series: Swan Songs III, the long-awaited successor to Swan Songs II, to be released via Napalm Records on August 7, 2020.

The standard version of Swan Songs III consists of new songs, all recorded with The Lord Of The Lost-Ensemble, and brand new versions of a hand-picked selection of LORD OF THE LOST classics, including the standout 18-minute-long song “Letters To Home”

For all visual and audiophile Dark Metal connoisseurs, Swan Songs III comes with a high class Earbook, including demo versions of eight of the new songs, framed in 48 pages full of high quality LORD OF THE LOST illustrations, on three CDs!

Swan Songs III will be available in multiple formats, including a box set, a high-class Earbook, and a 2LP Gatefold Vinyl. The album is a gift to all music fans and marks the next highlight in LORD OF THE LOST's musical career.

LORD OF THE LOST on the album:

"The Swan Songs project started as a musical infidelity, continued in a beloved carry-on and became like a second musical DNA. Meanwhile, we feel at home in our second musical facet, as well as in our classifying LORD OF THE LOST sound / shell. Swan Songs III has a musical depth that even surprises ourselves with a certain distance to its finishing. It is by no means the last part of a trilogy, but so far our personal highlight of LORD OF THE LOST’s classical-career.”

Act quickly - the first format is already sold out!

LORD OF THE LOST will play an exclusive release concert as a live stream on August 8th, performing songs of the freshly released album and Swan Songs classics. Tickets can be bought HERE:

Dive away, a million years and a day, a one ton heart never breaks all the way.

Dark metal sensation LORD OF THE LOST returns with their newest offering in their classic ensemble album series: Swan Songs III, the long-awaited successor to Swan Songs II, will be released via Napalm Records on August 7, 2020.

Deeply emotional storytelling melding with beautiful harmonies and Chris Harms’ palpitation-inducing deep vocals make Swan Songs III absolutely exceptional. The first single, “A One Ton Heart”, presents itself as a powerful ballad that makes the listener dive away with heavenly piano parts, underlined by delicate acoustic guitars and soft drum rhythms that take the listener onto a musical journey. Watch the absolutely outstanding and surprisingly historical video – featuring hand saws, classical string instruments and the beauty of violence – below!

LORD OF THE LOST on the new single and video:

“Since the founding of LORD OF THE LOST, we have been wanting to shoot a video like this one. Unfortunately, none of our songs have ever fit to such a video. That hasn’t really changed with “A One Ton Heart”, but we didn’t want to wait any longer. So the video - in its non-existent statement - and our absurd looks have absolutely nothing to do with the song. Fortunately, the song didn’t care about that at all. And we have fulfilled another dream.”

† DECLARATION †

No living instruments were harmed during the filming of this music video clip.

All instruments have already been dead and unplayable before.

After the shoot their mortal remains were cremated in an adequate satanic ritual.

The standard version of Swan Songs III consists of new songs, all recorded with The Lord Of The Lost-Ensemble, and brand new versions of a hand-picked selection of LORD OF THE LOST classics, including the standout 18-minute-long song “Letters To Home”

For all Dark metal connoisseurs, Swan Songs III comes with a high quality deluxe box, including the instrumental Swan Symphonies III-versions of all songs and previously unreleased demo versions of eight new songs. As a special bonus, there is a full live set, recorded at their 10th anniversary show in 2019 in their hometown of Hamburg. More than five hours of LORD OF THE LOST in all facets on seven CDs!

Swan Songs III will be available in multiple formats, including a high-class Earbook, a box set and a 2LP Gatefold Vinyl.
