Phoenix synthpunk grindcore-rap duo Snailmate presents 'Stress Sandwich' album & video for 'The Laziest Man in the World'

"Ferocious and evocative... an intense sonic fusion of thrash rock, hip hop and punk complete with an infectious layered screamo chorus and daring synths. Fuzzy basslines glide over intense drumming full of emotion for an enthralling must listen"~ Earmilk

“This homage to being chronically, unwaveringly lazy is another standout hybrid gem from the pair, and proves as eccentric as it is downright catchy” ~ Phoenix New Times

“A genre-bending rollercoaster ride that defies convention and categorization. This album seamlessly weaves together elements of synth music, punk and metal while drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of artists ranging from Daft Punk and Public Enemy to Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park... unique and electrifying” ~ Skylight Webzine

"How this isn’t pouring from every MF-ers lips in time of need is a mystery" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

Phoenix-based synthpunk grindcore pop nerd rap duo
Snailmate has released their new album 'Stress Sandwich' via Indiestructable Records, with a twisted humorous take on existential anxiety. Serving up funky, poppy, screamy fun through synth-laced alternative raps, their music is like a quick-onset panic attack with the right meds to be able to keep calm and enjoy the ride.

Snailmate is lyricist-vocalist and synth wizard Kalen Lander and drummer-backup vocalist Bentley Monet, whose music fuses synthpunk, grindcore, pop and nerd rap for an unpredictable and explosive sound. Together they craft music that is cathartic and relatable yet unique and genre-defying, using humor and wit to tackle topics from isolation and queer identity to bangers about hot sauce and nostalgia.

Produced by Ari Leopold at
Lava Lake Studio in Phoenix, 'Stress Sandwich' is about growth, exploring themes such as vulnerability, disappointment, and art-making as a beautiful yet imperfect process. They go head to head with depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, anger, hunger, laziness... but also fun things! These 10 tracks - laced with sarcasm, breathless lyricism and unpredictable genre-bending energy - will leave you satisfied and wanting more.

"This album has been in the works for so long. It took years to process all these feelings and experiences and distill them into just ten short songs, but I’m really glad we didn’t try and finish this thing any sooner. It would have tasted so much different. The flavors needed time to develop. I couldn’t have written 'Toll Road' until that bastard stole our money. 'The Snailmate Show' wasn’t a thing before we were forced to quarantine and couldn’t play live. And until we had to go through some intense physical changes, 'My Weird Gross Body' just wouldn’t have been the same," says  Kalen Lander.

"I beat myself up a lot during this whole process. I felt like I was taking too long to write the lyrics, and that meant that I was bad at writing. I had lost my touch. But then I really started to understand how, when I FINALLY finished the words for a song, it was perfect. It couldn’t have been perfect if I’d forced it out any sooner. And I think 'The Laziest Man in the World' encapsulates that sentiment better than anything."

The duo also presents their latest video for
'The Laziest Man in the World', created by Chase A Warren.

"This song is my attempt to glorify and glamorize my extreme lack of motivation. Even though the approach was to be as lazy as possible, the song nevertheless features dexterous lyricism and quick, intricate rhyme schemes. Sometimes, sitting around and doing nothing is important for your mental health. Hopefully this song can make someone feel a little better the next time they take a day off," says Kalen Lander.

"I’m a firm believer in slowing down and taking your time. Days off are as crucial, if not more so, than the days spent working. Sometimes you need to do absolutely nothing. You deserve it. And “The Laziest Man in the World” wants you to be the best you can be."

Known for their frenetic and impressive live shows (numbering over a thousand now), 2023 saw the band tour relentlessly. As part of the LGBTQ community and with Bentley being a transgender artist, Snailmate inspires their listeners to be unapologetic and unashamed of who they are, having cultivated a fervent fanbase based on inclusivity and shows as a safe space for all genders and people of all sexualities.

Snailmate earlier released two full length albums -
'Live In Japan' (2019) and 'Love in the Microwave' (2017) - and a myriad of EPs and singles.

'Stress Sandwich' is available digitally from fine music platforms, including
Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. It can also be ordered on vinyl and CD vinyl from the band's own store, where ample merch is also available, including their very own award-winning hot sauce!

Toronto-NYC power trio ON relases 'Gator' single & announces North American tour dates with The Veldt and Snailmate

"A cool album. A smart album. A deftly crafted album. A rock album? Yes…but much more. So much more" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A clever blend of pop melody with raw rock abrasiveness in quite a potent sonic sucker punch. Their very tight weave of classic and alt rock coated grunge works fabulously" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Its DNA intwértwined with sounds once pounded out by the likes of the Pumpkins, Hole and L7...  one of the most exciting outfits to emerge post-pandemic" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

Toronto-NYC indie rock power trio
ON is back to blow our minds with their fresh single 'Gator', released via Toronto-based imprint Indiestructable Records. Like a 2000-pound-per-square-inch bite force from an Alligator, this 6/8 groove is a hook-laden rock waltz. It’s a parody and observation about living in a gated community amongst live Alligators roaming free. Gator’s meaning is two-fold.

ON is a riveting power trio led by Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass) with Dan Cornelius on drums and Steve Fall on guitars. Their latest music output sees the trio carry on the legacy of the band from which they were formed - 90's Sire Records band
Acid Test. its members have also been in other popular Toronto bands Danko Jones and Deliuss.

“This song was written while the band was on a writing/recording session in Naples, Florida. We stayed in a gated community - meaning pass codes to enter the neighborhood and real “surveillance”. In the community was this pond - with freely roaming alligators. And there we have it - we think we are boundless and free - and yet we have lines and gates to keep us so called “safe”. There is the illusion  - masking the element control as “safety”…. While the alligators roam freely.  One begs to ask:  who of the two “gators” is really free here?” says frontwoman Lucy Di Santo.

Dishing out infectious guitar riffs with a dash of groove, their adrenaline-laden music is a invigorating, the band paying homage to their post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock roots. 'Gator' follows up the band's latest single 'Make Me', a song of frustration and wanting to recapture that euphoria.

“We had a cool riff and Lucy had a great melody but we didn't have an intro to the song. We were working this up demoing it in Drew's 'Starsound Studios' in Cape Coral , Fla. Lucy took a break, went into the truck we rented and hummed a melody. I copied it on my guitar through my cheap Blackstar practice amp w/the delay feature and we put it down as a track. The vibe just worked so we kept that original track in the main verse and as a hook throughout the song. And that original track stayed even as we added more layers and mixed," says Steve Fall.

Dan Cornelius adds, “The song has a strong guitar hook and melody - and the drums are tailored to  support and enhance those elements. So I thought the drums  should be a drum pattern that anyone could tap along to ON their steering wheel while waiting for traffic. Simple drum groove. Simple drum fills.”

The band is currently busy recording their next record at
BC Studio in Brooklyn with legendary producer Martin Bisi, famed for his groundbreaking work with Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Africa Bambaataa, Dresden Dolls, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop and many other notable artists.

ON also recently completed an extensive US tour in support of their critically-acclaimed 'ON' album, co-produced by
Darius Szczepaniak (Sum 41, Black Crowes, Big Sugar, Bare Naked Ladies, Jann Arden) at Phase One Studios in Toronto. The album received extensive press and radio attention, not to mention charting in the Radio Indie Alliance charts consecutively for nearly a year.

As of September 5, 'Gator' is available from
fine music platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp.

Toronto-NYC power trio ON moves from frustration to euphoria on new 'Make Me' single

"A cool album. A smart album. A deftly crafted album. A rock album? Yes…but much more. So much more" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A clever blend of pop melody with raw rock abrasiveness in quite a potent sonic sucker punch. Their very tight weave of classic and alt rock coated grunge works fabulously" ~ The Spill Magazine

With one foot in Toronto and the other in NYC, indie rock power trio
ON is back with the new single 'Make Me', a song of frustration and wanting to recapture that euphoria. This is a cry for what once was... and then resolution and a peaceful acceptance of what is.

Released via Toronto-based imprint
Indiestructable Records, this single sees the trio carry on the legacy of the band from which they were formed - 90's Sire Records band Acid Test.

ON is a riveting power trio led by Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass) with Dan Cornelius on drums and Steve Fall on guitars - apart from Acid Test, its members have also been in other popular Toronto bands Danko Jones and Deliuss. Dishing out infectious guitar riffs with a dash of groove, their adrenaline-laden music is a invigorating, the band paying homage to their post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock roots.

"After our first release and jaunt with Acid Test, I was at a crossroads of musical styles; I had a desire to go back to a raw, gritty and powerful sound - I wanted to play a simple driving riff that expressed the frustration and yet immense drive I was feeling. Lyrically - I wanted to feel that “thing” that inspired me to want to pick up a guitar/bass in the first place; so I first wrote the ‘Make Me’ riff on a guitar. It was kind of a “oh yeah.. so take that” kind of musical statement," says Lucy Di Santo.

'Make Me' chants a polite ask (or task) of wanting to recapture that novelty, dopamine-fueled feeling that something – or someone – once sparked; to re-live a fantasy. “Can you make me want you...again?” Then followed by that bucket-of-cold water reality check and regret analysis: “Monday morning I thought I knew you. Come Thursday...I don’t really care to – never meant to!” Somethings and people come into one’s life for a reason – and some for a season. Living in the now – facing things as they are – growing up. And it’s all ok too......

"I have a vivid memory of us in our band’s rehearsal space on the corner of Queen and Bathurst in downtown Toronto, all of us pressed up against each other with our gear and in the moment, really just going for it. Everyone’s heads down into their instrument and looking up once in a while, smiling at each other and feeding off the energy of this heavy guitar driven song that we had collectively written. From the start of the first riff and the build of the snare crashing into the main riff, with the odd time section and Steve’s signature double-stop guitar work, Lucy’s heavy groove on bass coupled with her powerful vocals, we knew we had a song that was an audio equivalent of 70’s Barracuda on full throttle, tearing down a deserted canyon road at sunset," says drummer Dan Cornelius.

Steve Fall adds, "This song really came to life in a big way during our tour of Mexico in the mid-90s with fellow Canadian rockers Rusty. Such good times. 'Make Me' brings back fond memories of my mother playfully giving my former military father the finger behind his back".

The band recently wrapped up recording sessions at
BC Studio in Brooklyn with legendary producer Martin Bisi, famed for his groundbreaking work with Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Africa Bambaataa, Dresden Dolls, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop and many other notable artists.

As of June 13, 'Make Me' is available from
fine music platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp, where the trio's 'ON' album can also be obtained digitally or on CD.

Toronto power trio ON tease eponymous album with trippy color-clad 'Blackmail' video. Full album is out Sept. 16

College rock / power trio ON preview the non-apologetic single 'Blackmail' with a flashy and fun video directed and edited by Michael Gucciardi, and filmed on location at The Jam Chamber in North York, Ontario.

The second offering from the band's new 'ON' album, scheduled for release on September 16 via Indiestructable Records, follows the brazen 'Underdog'.

Made up of Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass), Dan Cornelius (drums) and Steve Fall(guitars) - formerly of popular Toronto acts such as Acid Test, Danko Jones and Deliuss - they've just successfully wrapped up their 'Underdog' Tour.

"This video is a visual representation of enlightenment and empowerment"... I'm clear , I know what the score is," says Lucy Di Santo. "This is a song about empowerment, strength, and self-actualization. It embraces recovery of one’s authentic self and soul from external forces - whether they be human, institutional, cultural, or chemical."

Always pushing forward with an eye on the rear-view mirror, ON pays homage to its roots - post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock. With infectious guitar riffs with a dash of p-funk groove, ON's music recalls a listening journey of classic albums on vinyl. While some songs are carried by emotional weight, some are ripping mini-audio trips with invigorating twists and turns.

"This record deals with where we are today and what we’ve overcome, persevering as a society and as individuals. I found myself as part of a genuinely authentic creative, human experience with Steve and Dan in various geographical locations including NYC, Florida and Toronto and felt the need to document it melodically. It’s about pain, hope, reframing and overcoming. It’s about survival. The songs are an authentic and complete collaboration of the triad and soul connection that is ON," says Lucy Di Santo.

ON Guitarist Steve Fall adds, "This record is a document of friendship navigating explores in pain, and hope. Looking at the world with a collaborative effort to document what we see, witness and feel through songwriting and chemistry ah band."

Having toured the USA, Mexico and Canada, ON's recordings have appeared on various CFNY and CMW New Music Compilations, as well as limited cassette tape releases via the Opcion Sonica label.

Toronto is still home for Di Santo and Fall, while Cornelius currently resides in NYC. Written in Toronto and New York City, the pre-production recording took place in Cape Coral in 2021 with Drew Howard at Star Sound Studios. The band has since been working out of Phase One Studios with sound engineer Darius Szczepaniak (Sum 41, Black Crowes, Big Sugar, Bare Naked Ladies, Jann Arden).

The 'Blackmail' and 'Underdog' singles are out now everywhere online, including Bandcamp. The full 'ON' album will be released on September 16 and is available for pre-order at https://indiestructablerecords.com.

This is the second single from the band's new 'ON' album, scheduled for release on September 16 via Indiestructable Records, following up the brazen 'Underdog'.

"Dan and I wrote the riff to Blackmail in NYC at his apartment. We really felt good about the bounce feel of the verse guitar part. The accent on the second part of the verse hook was subtle and kind
of loose. We dug the groove and vibe. Once we presented the initial riffs to Lucy, she immediately grabbed it and went into a very introspective lyric – a discussion about people messin' about with your head. "I'm here on the microphone. I'm clear I know what the score is… on your telephone sensing you're not what your sayin”. It’s about people hiding behind technology and Lucy having enough of it. Empowerment.”

Toronto power trio ON presents 'Underdog' single, gears up to kick off tour dates

Alternative / indie rockers ON - a trio comprised of Toronto music scene veterans, formerly of popular 90’s outfits Acid Test, Danko Jones and Rocket Science - present their brazen new single 'Underdog' as they reveal dates for their impending Ontario tour.

The band will be embarking on their 'Underdog' Tour throughout August, hitting venues in Kingston, Ottawa, Baldwin, Toronto, Barrie, Paris, Niagara Falls, Cambridge, Hamilton, and London.

'Underdog' is the first taste of the band's new 'ON' album, scheduled for release on September 20 via Indiestructable Records. This is a song about hope, love, angst and dreams. It's about the temptation to get back in the ring once more when the world no longer makes any sense and you have nothing to lose. The accompanying video was filmed by Lindi Gordon and edited by Michael Gucciardi.

ON creates sonic guitar-based landscapes and is centered around the undeniable chemistry of its core members Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass), Dan Cornelius(drums) and Steve Fall (guitars). While ON was active through the 1990’s and 2000s as the members’ side project, it has since taken on greater meaning at the forefront of the members' musical plans.

The songs are an authentic and complete collaboration of the triad and soul connection that is ON," says frontwoman Lucy Di Santo.

Always pushing forward with an eye on the rear-view mirror, ON pays homage to its roots in timeless classics, post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock. Well-crafted songs with an attention to arrangement, groove and performance a la carte, ON's music connects with an audience seeking out impactful and genre-defying music.

With infectious guitar riffs with a dash of p-funk groove, ON's music recalls a listening journey of classic albums on vinyl. While some songs are carried by emotional weight, some are ripping mini-audio trips with invigorating twists and turns. Lucy’s signature vocal phrasings, infectious ear-candy melodies and harmonies meet with a driving rhythm section and powerful poignant guitar artistry.

"This record is a document of friendship navigating explores in pain, and hope. Looking at the world with a collaborative effort to document what we see, witness and feel through songwriting and chemistry as band," says ON guitarist Steve Fall.

"The three of us have been great friends for years and we have deep respect for each other‘s talents and songwriting abilities. We all decided to make some music in a rehearsal space in Manhattan when Steve n Lu were visiting Manhattan a couple years back. Instead of making it a one time thing, we had such a blast that we continued writing music online via video calls. As soon as there were opportunities to get together, we met up and, one by one, we started to chip away at the songs until we were happy," says ON drummer Dan Cornelius.

ON has previously toured across the USA, as well as playing various pockets of Mexico and Canada. Their recordings are found on various CFNY and CMW New Music Compilations, as well as a limited cassette tape releases via the Opcion Sonica label with sales at over 6,000 in just one weekend at an open-air market in Mexico City.

While Toronto is still home for Di Santo and Fall, Cornelius currently resides in NYC. The trio collaborated and wrote the material for this album in Toronto and New York City, their work culminating with pre-production recording in Fort Meyers during the winter of 2021 with Drew Howard at Star Sound Studios. The band has since been working out of Phase One Studios with sound engineer Darius Szczepaniak (Sum 41, Black Crowes, Big Sugar, Bare Naked Ladies, Jann Arden, Moxy Früvous).

'Underdog' is out now, available everywhere online, including Bandcamp. The full 'ON' album will be released on September 16 and can be pre-ordered at https://indiestructablerecords.com. The band kick off their 'Underdog' Tour on August 12.
