OCEANS - Release New Single 'Slaves To The Feed'!

OCEANS are back with their first new music of 2024! The German nu-metal band proudly presents their latest single 'Slaves To The Feed', which provides another strong message towards the importance of mental health and raising awareness on this topic. The new song sees OCEANS collaborate with Australian keyboardist MISSTIQ as well as Josh Collard from EARTH CALLER.

To coincide with the release of 'Slaves To The Feed', OCEANS are unleashing a second new single! 'Breed Consume Die' sees the Germans once again prove their musical versatility as they let their heavier side come to the fore. Josh Collard from EARTH CALLER is also featured on this song, which serves as a social wake-up call.

As if the release of two new singles wasn't enough, OCEANS have also delivered a brand new music video for their single 'Slaves To The Feed', which you can watch below.

Timo Rotten comments:

"Social media makes us sick. It makes me sick, I'm fucking addicted to my smartphone. Even though it has made my life miserable to a certain extent, I still keep scrolling. And why is that? Because people tell me it's part of the business. We as a band are both part of the solution and part of the problem."

About:

Ever since their inception, up and coming German outfit OCEANS have dropped jaws everywhere they went. With a unique sound that sits somewhere between nu-metal, progressive, post and death metal and putting mental health at the top of their agenda, the four piece quickly became a known constant in today’s metal landscape. OCEANS have become known for their inclination towards innovation and experimentation within their genre; covering songs by the likes of Alessia Cara and collaborating with prominent musicians such as MACHINE HEAD’s Robb Flynn and CALIBAN’s Andy Dörner amongst others. Having released two EPs in 2019, their debut album in 2020 and another EP in 2021, the band featuring visionary mastermind Timo Rotten can easily be described as one of Europe’s hardest and fastest working bands in the genre. Enter 2022 and OCEANS have already proved that they’re set to continue on their upwards trajectory with the release of their trilogy Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: Love, it’s follow-up Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part II: Longing and Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part III: Clarity, which together form their second album Hell Is Where The Heart Is.

OCEANS - Hell Is Where The Heart Is Out Now!

Today OCEANS have released their second full-length album Hell Is Where The Heart Is. More than two years after the release of their first album, the German nu-metallers latest album Hell Is Where The Heart Is consists of three EPs released throughout 2022:
Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: LovePart II: Longing, and finally the last part Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part III: Clarity which is released today.

The album is another successful entry into the band's discography, its dark atmosphere providing the perfect canvas for frontman Timo Rotten to exhibit his poignant lyrics that touch heavily on the topic of mental health.

To mark the occasion, the band is releasing a brand new music video made up by the twisted but genius mind of famous visual artist Costin Chioreanu for their title track 'Hell Is Where The Heart Is'.

Watch the new video for "Hell Is Where The Heart Is" below.

Timo Rotten comments:
"It’s finally here: album number two. I’ve listened to it from start to finish the past week for the first time in almost a year and it left me sitting there with tears in my eyes, goosebumps all over my body. It’s so dark I probably can’t handle to hear it again for some time. But I hope you all will enjoy it to the fullest."

Timo Rotten comments: "This song was written in the midst of the pandemic at a low point in our lives. We had just lost one of the most important foundations of our sanity: playing live music. That was what had kept us sane all these years, and suddenly it was gone. There's a lot of longing and pain in 'I Want To Be Whole Again', and I'm sure you can hear that clearly.”

OCEANS - Release New Single "The Awakening" + Kick Off Pre-Save For Their Upcoming EP Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: Love!

After releasing their digital EP We Are Nøt Okay in early 2021, rising German-Austrian nu-metal stars OCEANS recently unveiled their new digital single "Sulfur" via Nuclear Blast.

Today, they return with yet another pummeling, driving, yet melodic and most of all melancholic anthem, titled "The Awakening". The single comes with a beautiful music video that you can watch below.
Get the single digitally here: https://oceans.bfan.link/the-awakening

Timo Rotten comments: “’The Awakening’ is a love letter to the people who are here for us at our darkest. At that moment when you hit rock bottom and fall into the void of nothingness. No hope, no light, just emptiness. But then someone reaches out and pulls you out of this misery. We want to thank you. You know who you are!”

"The Awakening" is part of the digital EP Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: Love, which will be released on January 14th.

Timo Rotten comments: “'Sulfur' is a love song but in a very unconventional way. You know the situation: you and your loved one get into a serious fight, doors slamming and all. And then sometimes, things are being thrown at each other that shouldn’t have been said… words that sting like knives. This is where love burns like sulfur.”
