“They play a groovy, chunky style of metal that flirts with progressive song structures, heavily influenced from their first musical obsessions: Metallica, Meshuggah, Gojira & Mastodon.”

HAMMERHEDD Release New Single "Fruition"

"Hammerhedd has been making the rounds for years now, and for good reason – these kids are some of the best metal musicians out there." - Metal Injection

American tech-metal trio HAMMERHEDD has released a new single from their yet-to-be-announced sophomore album. Fresh off an October US tour run opening for Swedish metal legends In Flames, the Ismert brothers are back with another offering, preceded by the release of "Tunnel" last month. The fraternal Kansas City-based outfit has dropped the track "Fruition" - an eight-minute epic that showcases their talents as heavy progressive acolytes. The new single is accompanied by a visualizer, which can be seen below.

On "Fruition", the Ismert brothers comment, "We’re excited to share our newest single with the metal masses! It’s dark, prodding, and heavy as hell! We hope you enjoy the new sonic landscapes we explore in 'Fruition'"

HAMMERHEDD Premiere "Tunnel" Music Video via Metal Injection - Tour Dates with IN FLAMES This Month!

Fraternal thrash metal trio HAMMERHEDD are back with their first new track since the release of their 2021 debut album, 'Grand Currents'. The Kansas City-based band is partnering with their friends at Metal Injection to premiere the music video for "Tunnel", which can be seen below.

Speaking with Injection about the influence on their latest single, the Ismert brothers share: “We wrote this song about a year ago while listening to The Police nonstop. There’s Stewart Copeland-influenced drums, a few Andy Summers-type chord shapes, and a Sting-style bass riff in the midsection. Aside from that, we (as usual) took heavy influence from Tool, Meshuggah, Mastodon, etc. - the gods of the newer generation of metal, as well as the classics; Rush, Zeppelin, Floyd, etc. We like to think we put these influences together in a way that sounds new, fresh, and uniquely HAMMERHEDD."

HAMMERHEDD is very excited to play "Tunnel" on their upcoming shows with In Flames! The band will join forces with the Swedish metal juggernauts starting October 17 in St. Petersberg, FL. A complete list of dates can be found below.
