The night brings together three icons, beginning with the band’s namesake and Guitar Player Hall of Famer Steve Morse, songwriter and bandleader of The Dixie Dregs, member of supergroup Flying Colors, as well as former guitarist of Deep Purple, Kansas and more. Morse’s bandmates feature Dave LaRue, also of Flying Colors and The Dixie Dregs, as well as Van Romaine, one of the most in-demand percussionists throughout his extensive career playing live and recording with legendary names like Blood, Sweat & Tears, Billy Joel, Naughty by Nature and many more.

The tour continues the successful run of show which began in November and December 2022. After exploring the idea of a Hologram tour in detail, Palmer (with the Estates of Emerson and Lake) opted for what they felt was a more honest approach using live footage of Keith and Greg on massive video walls alongside  Carl (and his band) playing LIVE on stage. The voice and instrumentation of Greg Lake and the unmistakable keyboard mastery of Keith Emerson will be mixed with Palmer’s onstage live drumming to magically reunite ELP once again. 

Emerson and Lake passed away nine months apart in 2016, leaving Palmer to carry on the band’s enormous musical legacy.
 
“The film ELP made of its sold out run at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1992 had everything we needed to make these tours happen.  We were able to use just the camera shots of Keith and Greg, with the sterling audio tracks of their performances resulting in a combination of film and onstage performance of my band that brings back the magic of ELP.”

After establishing themselves in bands such as The Nice, King Crimson, and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, ELP was formed in early 1970 as one of rock’s first (and biggest) supergroups. With record sales of over 50 million and decades of sold out tours through the 1970s and again in the 1990s, Emerson Lake & Palmer has remained one of the best-selling classic rock bands of all time. The band’s complete recorded catalog, now under the direction and distribution of BMG MUSIC, continues to be a steady force on the international music scene. The tour will coincide with the new BMG box set of classic ELP hit singles pressed on vinyl with reproductions of the original picture sleeves.

THE GUESS WHO IS SET TO RELEASE ITS NEW STUDIO ALBUM, PLEIN D‘AMOUR, ON JUNE 30, THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT

The Guess Who is a legendary Canadian band who enjoyed chart-topping hits in the late 60s and early 70s with an impressive catalogue of songs including "American Woman," "These Eyes," and "No Time." During the course of its career, the band has released 11 studio albums, all of which charted in Canada and the United States. The Guess Who is best known internationally for its 1970 album, American Woman, which hit number one in Canada and number nine in the United States, with five other albums also hitting the top ten in Canada.  All in all, the Guess Who boasts 14 top-40 singles in the United States and more than 30 in Canada.

The band released its first single The King on February 10 and it immediately landed on multiple Spotify playlists racking up over 50,000 streams, making it the highest new release in the band’s history. The band is now gearing up to release its latest creation, Plein D’Amour. BMG, in partnership with Rhino Entertainment, announces ‘THE ATLANTIC YEARS’ LIMITED EDITION BOX SET, celebrating RATT’s massively successful period where all 5 of their studio albums were certified GOLD, PLATINUM or MULTI-PLATINUM.  Released on June 9th, the LP set features all 5 albums remastered on 180g black vinyl, rare “Nobody Rides For Free” 7” single, 12 page replica tour book (featuring rare and never before seen photos from RATT’s personal archives), 11”x17” WANTED POSTER, bumper sticker, replica backstage pass, and guitar pick in a custom lift top box. The CD set features all 5 of the studio albums in a side loading box. 

All albums feature the classic line up of Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitars), Robbin Crosby (guitars), Juan Croucier (bass/vocals), and Bobby Blotzer (drums)

Formed in Los Angeles, RATT was featured as an unsigned act on Uncle Joe Benson’s Local Licks Drive Time Show on KLOS-FM.  This was their first time on radio and led to their signing to Atlantic Records.  
 
RATT exploded on to the national scene in 1984 with the release of ‘Out Of The Cellar.’ Featuring an undeniable hook and legendary music video, lead single “Round And Round” hit #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, while ‘Out Of The Cellar’ reached #7 on the Billboard Top 200 and was certified triple platinum. Two more charting singles followed with “Back For More” and “Wanted Man”. RATT started the tour as an opening act, but by the end of the tour had climbed to arena headliner.

RATT returned in 1985 with their 2nd full length album, ‘Invasion Of Your Privacy.’ Certified double platinum and also reaching #7 on the Billboard Top 200, ‘Invasion of Your Privacy’ also featured the classics “Lay It Down” (#40 Billboard Hot 100) and “You’re In Love”.

‘Dancing Undercover’ followed in 1986 as RATT toured North America with a brand new LA band called POISON as the opening act. Lead single “Dance” hit the Billboard Hot 100 and spawned another music video hit with “Slip Of The Lip”, while “Body Talk” was featured in a key scene in the Eddie Murphy film, ‘The Golden Child’. ‘Dancing Undercover’ became RATT 3rd consecutive PLATINUM album and reached #26 on the Billboard Top 200.

1988’s ‘Reach For The Sky’ saw RATT return to the Top 20 of the Billboard Top 200 album charts, peaking at #17. Driven by the bluesy hit and MTV favorite “Way Cool Jr.”, ‘Reach For The Sky’ was also certified PLATINUM and became RATT’s 4th album in a row to move well over a million copies. “I Want A Woman” was also a successful single and the video captured the excitement and energy of RATT live.

RATT released their last full-length record of the Atlantic era, Detonator, in 1990. Music was changing, but ‘Detonator’ was still a success, peaking at #23 on the Billboard Top 200 and going GOLD. The first album to feature major outside songwriting contributions (Desmond Child, Diane Warren) and guests (Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Schenker). Lead single “Lovin’ You’s A Dirty Job” hit #18 on the Rock Charts while the power ballad “Giving Yourself Away” reached #39.

 

In 1991, they released the single “Nobody Rides For Free” from the hit film Point Break starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, which is exclusive to the LP box.

Jethro Tull launch video for ‘Hammer On Hammer’; new studio album ‘RökFlöte’ out April 21st

Jethro Tull are set to release their 23rd studio album, ‘RökFlöte’, on April 21st 2023 via InsideOutMusic. Following 2022’s ‘The Zealot Gene’, the band's first album in two decades, Ian Anderson and the band are returning with a 12-track record based on the characters and roles of some of the principle gods of the old Norse paganism, and at the same time exploring the ‘RökFlöte’ - rock flute - which Jethro Tull has made iconic.

The track takes inspiration from the god Thor, a loyal & honourable warrior who wears a powerful symbolic belt and wields a hammer. His mortal enemy & nemesis was Jormungand the sea-serpent.

Ian explains the album’s title & theme in more detail: “The title of this offering went through a little change or two along the way. I started with the idea of a predominantly instrumental album for rock flute - as in rock music. When the subject material of the album presented itself, I was drawn to the term Ragnarök from Norse mythology - their version of apocalyptic end times or Biblical Armageddon. The "final showdown" scenario is ubiquitous and inherent in Hinduism, Christianity and Islam, for example. Ragnarök translates as “destiny of the Gods”, the rök part meaning destiny, course, direction. With umlaut firmly in place, courtesy of the Germanic origins of Old Norse, Flute became Flöte in keeping with the spelling. With me so far? I just can't miss the glorious opportunity for a good and legitimate umlaut.”

About Steve Hackett

Steve Hackett joined Genesis at the beginning of 1971 and gained an international reputation as the guitarist in the band’s classic line-up alongside Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins. Hackett’s intricate guitar work was a key element of Genesis’ albums from Nursery Cryme (1971) to Wind And Wuthering (1977) including the classic Selling England By The Pound.

After leaving Genesis at the end of 1977, Hackett’s solo career, which now spans more than 30 albums, has demonstrated his extraordinary versatility with both electric and acoustic guitar. Hackett is renowned as both an immensely talented and innovative rock musician and a virtuoso classical guitarist and composer and this was recognised in 2010 when he was inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame. He has also worked alongside Steve Howe of YES in the supergroup GTR.

Hackett’s compositions take influences from many genres, including jazz, classical and blues. For his later studio works The Night Siren (2017) and At The Edge Of Light (2019) Hackett has explored the influences of world music. Recent tours have seen Hackett celebrate his time with Genesis including a spectacular 2018 tour in which he realised a long-held ambition to perform the works of Genesis live with his band and an orchestra.

The lockdown enforced by the 2020 global pandemic has proven to be a particularly creative period for Hackett. He began by releasing Selling England by the Pound & Spectral Mornings: Live at Hammersmith, a live recording of 2019’s hugely successful tour celebrating that Genesis classic together with the 40th anniversary of one of his most-loved solo albums. Lockdown also gave Hackett the opportunity to write and record two new studio albums, the UK Classical Chart hit Under A Mediterranean Sky and Surrender of Silence.

Many people are done with the whole mega-concert experience--beginning with the tickets!  Enter Deko Entertainment. Deko decided that there might be a fun, and much less stressful way to experience talented artists performing live.  It would be really…Up Close and Personal. And that’s what it’s called. So far, it’s been great.  You can take it from the people that were at the inaugural events that featured Kasim Sulton (Utopia, Todd Rundgren, Meat Loaf, etc.) and Tiffany!

Ghosts of Sunset have returned with our latest fix of melodic hard rock – Breathe. The band’s duo of singer-songwriters John Merchant (former Dutch Henry frontman) and multi-instrumentalist Todd Long (previously with the Verve Pipe) had last drawn attention to themselves in 2020 with their debut EP, Headed West, and 2022 follow-up LP, No Saints in the City.

Ghosts of Sunset not only pays homage to the 1980s hair metal scene they grew up on (Quiet Riot, Ratt, Mötley Crüe, Warrant, Faster Pussycat, GNR, etc.), but for music fans whose tastes run deep, Breathe touches upon post-punk aggression, melodic rock choruses and a quirky Cheap Trick spin on top of it all. The writing and recording process for Breathe was a bit unconventional, and at the same time par for the course with 21st century technology. "We did all our recording via file sharing,” says Long. “First, one of us will have an idea, and then we just start sending mp3s back and forth while building the track up. After a basic track was completed, we’d then seek out who we feel might be right to put a guitar solo on it. If they like the track, then we proceed. If they don't, then that's fine too. We just hoped they feel connected enough to the track to want to contribute."

Merchant continues, “The opportunity to make a follow up full-length album was an absolute blessing and a daunting task. Unlike some writers, we’re always hoping our influences are noticeable, but we want them to be surprising and revealing as well. With this set of songs, we wanted to keep the door open for anything that moved us. They tell you where they want to go and we are open to whatever gets them to their destination. These songs take listeners from such sweeping landscapes as an Asian spy adventure, to something as internal and personal as the struggle of loving someone battling addiction. The musical compositions are as important as the lyrics to tell the stories that need to be told.”

SUNROAD HAS JUST RELEASED ITS NINTH ALBUM, SUNESTHESIA, THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT

Sunroad, from Goiás, Brazil, is one of the most relevant names in the melodic hard rock/heavy metal scene in all South America. During a 20-year career, they have released eight albums with concerts being performed in regions of Brazil and other countries of South America alongside great artists such as Joe Lynn Turner, Petra, Stryper, L.A. Guns, Whitecross, and Narnia.

Sunesthesia has a very fine and sophisticated melodic hard rock sound like UFO, Whitesnake, and Michael Schenker Group. The first single, “Speed Warning #1,” features Rainbow vocalist Ronnie Romero. DEREK SHERINIAN WINS BURRN! MAGAZINE BEST KEYBOARDIST AWARD AGAIN

Keyboardist Derek Sherinian  was recently named “Best Keyboardist” in Japan’s BURRN! Magazine 2022 Readers Poll (an award he also received previously, in 2020).

 

Derek was also voted “Greatest Keyboardist of the 21st Century” and  #8 “Greatest of All Time” by MusicRadar.com, and also was ranked #9 “Greatest of All Time” in PROG Magazine.  

 

Sherinian has distinguished himself by his versatility, and aggressive "guitaristic" approach to his signature keyboard style. MusicRadar.com declared, "His virtuoso playing has seen him dubbed the keyboard-playing version of Eddie Van Halen." David Coverdale claims that “Derek plays the Hammond organ like the son of Jon Lord.”

 

Starting his pro career with Alice Cooper in 1989 on the “Trashes the World” world tour, Sherinian proceeded to tour and record with KISS, Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Idol  and Whitesnake. He has also released nine solo albums, and was the co-founder of Planet X,  Sons of Apollo, and supergroup Black Country Communion (also featuring Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes, and Jason Bonham), who will be recording a new album this Summer.

ELEGANT WEAPONS UNLEASH NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “BLIND LEADING THE BLIND,”FROM FORTHCOMING HORNS FOR

Metal fans have been eager to hear what the new collaboration, ELEGANT WEAPONS, sounds like, after the formation of the band – comprised of Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero, Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner, Uriah Heep bassist Dave Rimmer, and Accept drummer Christopher Williams – was first announced last year. “The video is great and gives a quirky and stylistic representation of the meaning of the song,” explains Faulkner. “The main character is getting drunk on the power he is given by the people that trust him, only to be found out later when his followers really see the truth. And shortly after the album’s release, the group plans on hitting the road, according to the guitarist. “We are very much looking forward to touring and our first tour dates are taking place in Europe starting in June 2023. Fans can expect heavy songs with catchy melodies, great vocals, and lots of riffs! We all live to play live, and can’t wait to take the ELEGANT WEAPONS out onto the live stage.”
 
As for the music, Richie describes it as “a mix of Jimi Hendrix, Priest, Sabbath, solo Ozzy and Black Label Society, but with a lot of melody, sort of old school and modern at once if that makes any sense, and actually down-tuned a whole step. There are a lot of guitar solos and the songs are on the heavier side. And even though there’s a lot of melody, it’s still going to shake your bones.”
 
Lastly, Faulkner sees a promising/long road ahead for ELEGANT WEAPONS. “As far as the future, we are all dedicated to giving this band the longest life we can. Live shows, tours and future albums. Growing with the fans along the way. The writing process for the second album is already underway and with live dates coming in thick and fast, we are looking forward to seeing how the future evolves for ELEGANT WEAPONS.”

Snarky Puppy is an American jazz fusion band led by bassist Michael League. Founded in 2004, Snarky Puppy combines a variety of jazz idioms, rock, world music, and funk and has won five Grammy Awards – with as many as 20 members in regular rotation. At its core, the band represents the convergence of both black and white American music culture with various accents from around the world. Japan, Argentina, Canada and the United Kingdom, all have representation in the group’s membership. September 30, 2022 saw the release of their 14th album, Empire Central, which earned rave reviews in AllMusic, Jazzwise, and JazzTimes. “Our soundscape has expanded dramatically over the years” says the band’s bassist, Michael League. “When the band started, we were jazzier, brainy and music oriented. Snarky Puppy’s sound now rises like a skyscraper from a 21st century orchestra comprising three guitarists, four keyboardists, two brass, two reeds, a violinist, a bassist, multiple percussionists and drummers. Jethro Tull launch ‘The Navigators’; the second single from ‘RökFlöte’

Jethro Tull recently announced the release of their 23rd studio album, ‘RökFlöte’, on the 21st April 2023 via InsideOutMusic. Following 2022’s ‘The Zealot Gene’, the band's first album in two decades, Ian Anderson and the band are returning with a 12-track record based on the characters and roles of some of the principle gods of the old Norse paganism, and at the same time exploring the ‘RökFlöte’ - rock flute - which Jethro Tull has made iconic. 

Today the band are pleased to launch the second single from the album, ‘The Navigators’. Appearing as a special single edit version, mixed by Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief), you can watch the video (created by Christian Rios) below.

The lyrics for this track explored the Norse god Njord, who was the god of wealth, fertility, the sea and seafaring.

Ian explains the album’s title & theme in more detail: “The title of this offering went through a little change or two along the way. I started with the idea of a predominantly instrumental album for rock flute - as in rock music. When the subject material of the album presented itself, I was drawn to the term Ragnarök from Norse mythology - their version of apocalyptic end times or Biblical Armageddon. The "final showdown" scenario is ubiquitous and inherent in Hinduism, Christianity and Islam, for example. Ragnarök translates as “destiny of the Gods”, the rök part meaning destiny, course, direction. With umlaut firmly in place, courtesy of the Germanic origins of Old Norse, Flute became Flöte in keeping with the spelling. With me so far? I just can't miss the glorious opportunity for a good and legitimate umlaut.”

GHOSTS OF SUNSET ARE SET TO RELEASE THEIR SOPHMORE ALBUM BREATHE THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT ON MARCH 17TH

After drawing attention to themselves in 2020, with their debut EP, Headed West, and 2022 follow up LP No Saints in the City the duo of singer-songwriters John Merchant (former Dutch Henry frontman) and multi instrumentalist Todd Long (previously with The Verve Pipe) aka GHOSTS OF SUNSET have returned with their next shot of melodic hard rock – Breathe. 

With Merchant and Long living in Michigan and Florida respectively, both the writing and recording process for Breathe were a bit unconventional and at the same time, par for the course with 21st Century technology. "We did all our recording via File Sharing,” says Long. “First, one of us will have an idea and then we just start sending mp3s back and forth while building the track up. After a basic track was completed, we’d then seek out who we feel might be right to put a guitar solo on it. If they like the track, then we proceed. If they don't then that's fine too. We just hoped they feel connected enough to the track to want to contribute." Merchant continues, “The opportunity to make a follow up full length album was an absolute blessing and a daunting task. Unlike some writers, we’re always hoping our influences are noticeable, but we want them to be surprising and revealing as well. With this set of songs, we wanted to keep the door open for anything that moved us. They tell you where they want to go and we are open to whatever gets them to their destination. These songs take listeners from such sweeping landscapes as an oriental spy adventure, to something as internal and personal as the struggle of loving someone battling addiction. The musical compositions are as important as the lyrics to tell the stories that need to be told.”

“Afterthought” is the first single and Long explains, “When I was writing “Afterthought”, I was looking to write an album opener. John wrote “Tonight” off of our 1st full length album “No Saints In The City”. I wanted to try and write one that was just as killer as that one. Who knew it would be our 1st single? I’m like a proud father!”. Merchant adds, “Afterthought” started with another amazing Todd Long riff that celebrates punk rock’s concise, no nonsense, “get to the point” structure. Lyrically the song speaks to the “seen not heard” role played by the arm candy of someone whose narcissistic ego blinds them to the fact that true beauty is found far below surface physical good looks.”

NEW SINGLE/VIDEO FROM THE JEREMY EDGE PROJECT, “CORAL CASTLE” TO BE RELEASED ON FEBRUARY 14th

The newest single from The Jeremy Edge Project’s double album release, ‘Saints and Souls Vol 1 & 2,’ is hitting all streaming platforms in February, with a new music video dropping February 14th.

Entitled “Coral Castle,” the song was recorded in PA and NJ and was mixed by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley (known for his work with Led Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Joe Bonamassa, Iron Maiden and more) and features Edge's bluesy "Robin Trower-esque" style in a more ethereal vibe - flanked by funky rhythm section grooves and haunting mellotron strings.

Edge elaborates: "This song was inspired by artists like Sade, Maxi Priest and Seal who utilize a hint of jazz and blues to make haunting yet grooving songs you can get entranced by. It's also Hendrix-ish and 70s rock guitar driven. I used a great Jimi Hendrix/Robin Trower sounding effect pedal sent to me by Chris of ‘Pedal Pawn,’ the ‘Gypsy Vibe’ that just replicates that classic sound so well.

“I love trying to create new things with a ‘melting pot’ approach to songs.
This song is the most laid back on the record and although there are several stories going in my head about where the lyrics are coming from it mostly deals with hoping people leave abusive, harmful or simply toxic and unhealthy situations. Many times, they never do.” 


“The title and chorus were inspired by the old "Coral Castle" in Florida built by one man who seemed to defy the laws of physics.

It's a sad but intriguing story that borders on the supernatural and I just thought it a great concept to try to reference here. Kevin Shirley was so kind enough to mix a couple of tracks for our record in between large album projects and I just love the way it came out."

RICK WAKEMAN CBE RETURNS TO THE USA WITH A NEW SOLO SHOW

Keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman CBE is pleased to announce that he will be returning to the USA in March and April 2023, with his latest tour, AN EVENING WITH RICK WAKEMAN: HIS MUSIC AND STORIES, starting Wednesday, March 15 in Phoenixville, PA. 

“It’s always so enjoyable playing in America,” Wakeman comments. “At every show, I see old friends and hopefully, make new ones.”

Wakeman’s set will consist of music taken from across the wide breadth of his 50-year-plus career, stripped back to its roots in arrangements for grand piano. It will include work from his early days as a session player arranging and performing keyboards on hits like David Bowie’s Life On Mars, through his groundbreaking stint with progressive rock band YES and his own multi-platinum solo albums, plus quirky covers of other acts like The Beatles.  

And this glorious display of keyboard virtuosity will be punctuated by hilarious anecdotes and reminiscences of his life. Renowned as much for his irreverent sense of humour as his musical talent, as he himself says, all of Wakeman’s stories contain an element of truth; it’s up to the audience to decide how much! 

In a departure from his previous solo tours, as well as playing a grand piano, Wakeman will also be bringing along a few electronic keyboards to add variety and texture to his set. “I’m looking forward to ringing the changes with the addition of keyboards, which is a bit of a departure from my traditional ‘piano shows’, but will give me the opportunity to vary the setlist.”

URIAH HEEP RELEASE SECOND SINGLE “HURRICANE” CHAOS & COLOUR NEARS RELEASE

British hard rock legends and progenators Uriah Heep release the second single “Hurricane”, taken from their twenty-fifth studio album Chaos & Colour, set for release January 27th, 2023 via Silver Lining Music.  

The anthemic and epic “Hurricane” carries an underlying historical and mythological theme. 

Co-writer and drummer Russell Gilbrook explains: “Simon (Pinto) and I wrote the song about how our ancestors looked at storms and how these can be interpreted as being messages from the Gods… Their power is awesome and a great inspiration for a rocking track!”

Founding member Mick Box comments: “Music and lyrics are of paramount importance to me… I used to hate those ‘80s MTV million dollar videos as they created such a visual image that all calls to imagination were lost because you didn’t have to think.
